  1. Hehe.. after a while you get used to.. I want 40! :)
  2. Hi Brickosouch, thank you so much for sharing this info. I also have a fast car and use same FlySky system like you. In my car I use 2 x RC 5292 motors. Run the whole setup with a DC step-up converter to increase the voltage from my 3S LiPo to 14 volt and still not satisfied with the speed of the car - around 27km/h :) Since my model is ready I was thinking of replacing the motor in the RC 5292 with something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271305602749?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I wasn't sure if the one on eBay is more or less powerful then the original one so I asked in the forum and people pointed me to your topic :) I have a few questions and it would be great if you can answer: - I own 4 x PF L motors so I wonder if the atomic standard will fit in them too? - Could you please share measurements of the atomic motor - length, hеigh etc? I am sure you already checked on eBay but maybe one can find a cheaper alternative somewhere :) Unfortunately I don't see dimensions in the date sheet of the atomic motor. - And last question - how did you gear them down :) Since my model is ready and I would like to rebuild it as little as possible I was wondering what will happen if I connect motor directly to tires without gearing down - 100km/h maybe Now seriously - maybe I can take a weaker and cheaper motor and then connect directly without gearing down. I can see the gears you used very shortly in your video but if you can share info and maybe some pictures it would be fantastic. Thank you very very much!!! p.s. Here my MOC: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/109069650895357453401/albums/6054792203783224481 and it has remote controlled front and rear LEDs on the 3rd channel :)
  3. Thank you so much for the links - the first one is exactly what I needed. Will post in this thread in a second :) I already use standard 2.4Ghz system (actually the same FlySky as the guy with the LeMans car), RC servo and 3S LiPo and run the motors on 14 volts - but still getting only something like 26km/h :) Thank you very much!!! But still - if someone can answer the question about RPMs of Lego 5292 motor - please post! Thank you!
  4. Hi All, I have built a fast car with 2 x RC Buggy motors but would like to make it even faster if possible. So I was wondering if I can change the "inside" of the buggy motor. I know Philo's page where he compares motors: http://philohome.com/motors/motorcomp.htm#Synthesis BUT!! I checked eBay and there a few Nichibo motors that are exactly the same size and seem to be quite fast but compared to what Philo meаsured they seem to be quite weak: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271305602749?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Can please someone tell me if this motor will be more or less quick/powerful then the original motor? Philo maybe? Here is my MOC: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/109069650895357453401/albums/6054792203783224481 Thanks very very much!!
  5. Thanks! The chassis is actually quite flexible so no real need for suspension in my opinion but the slicker wheels would be great. Unfortunately I own none of them but might get some very soon if I am lucky :) Then I'll probably lose some of the drifting-fun but we'll see :)
  6. Here is version 2 of my speed car. It uses a 11.1v 1000mAh LiPo battery, which is very light. The model is now around 100g lighter and sooo much faster :) Pictures: https://picasaweb.go...24GhzRCSystemV2 Videos: p.s. could a moderator put a [MOC] in the titel please? I forgot to do it and can not change it now. Thanks.
  7. It was the thermal protection of the motors - removed it and everything is fine :) The car is ready and drives - maybe not quite as fast as the one of z3_2drive but still quite fine :) Here is the new topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99481
  8. Hi, the car is equipped with two buggy motors and a 8.4v LiIon battery. Here some pisc and videos: https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink Hope you like it :)
  9. Thanks a lot!!! Checking if it is the controller of the battery pack. Seems that this pack consists of 4 x 18650 cells, which often have protection: http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/battery%20protection%20UK.html I wonder if I should remove that protection (if present) but not sure if this wouldn't be too "unsafe" :)
  10. Hi again z3_2drive! Just a short question - do the buggy motors have a thermal protection? I build a testing model with two motors and connect them directly to a 8.4v battery using this type of speed contoller (not using the DC/DC convertor): http://www.nenovtech...ml#!prettyPhoto after a few dosens of meters motors kind of stop and when I lift the model they run again.. after a few seconds the model runs again for the same period of time :( which is basicaly 15sec or so.. I am using this battery: http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 trying to find out what kind of protection is kicking in. Thanks very very much!!!
  11. Thanks a lot!! I will test it for sure and also check Piterx's gearboxes.
  12. I think after some more searching I found a better integrated solution that might work for me: http://sariel.pl/201...utput-selector/ was posted here: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=76395 but would it work on higher speeds?!?! I mean if the vehicle is not geared down further after the gearbox like a crawler probably is.. and I am intending to build a fast car like yours
