    Lego Ideas: Red Dwarf

Hi, I hope everyone has had a nice Christmas. I have submitted my Lego Ideas project (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/125506), and was hoping to gather some support and/or comments on the project. So for those that may not have heard of the TV Show 'Red Dwarf', I'll give some background. Red Dwarf is a British Sci-Fi Comedy series that started in 1988 and is still going, originally a BBC production, it was revived in 2008 by the digital TV channel Dave. Recently Dave announced that 2 new series had been commissioned and would air in 2016 and 2017 respectively. “This is an S.O.S distress call from the mining ship Red Dwarf. The crew are dead, killed by a radiation leak. The only survivors are Dave Lister, who was in suspended-animation during the disaster, and his pregnant cat who was safely sealed in the hold. Revived 3 million years later, Lister's only companions are, a life form who evolved from his cat and Arnold Rimmer, a hologram simulation of one of the dead crew. I am Holly, the ships computer with an IQ of 6,000 - the same IQ of 6,000 P.E. teachers.” - Holly (A.I. Red Dwarf) My project features the main ship 'JMC mining ship Red Dwarf', 4 minifigures based on the 4 main characters and 2 scutters. I've designed this project to not only appeal to fans of the show, but also to every Lego fan young and old. Since Red Dwarf is set 3 million years into the future, the ship and its crew would quite feasibly fit in perfectly with any of the official Lego space themes or to some extent Star Wars. I have created this project using the Lego Digital Design software, so at the moment all the pictures have been captured using that, but I have ordered the parts and will upload the photos as soon as I can. If you like my idea please support it here https://ideas.lego.com/projects/125506 Many Thanks Pauleo

    [MOC] Clown

One of my biggest fears are clowns. So to get over my phobia, I made a Lego rendition of this horror in the hope I'd overcome it... it didn't work. Evil Clown by Sir Brickalot, on Flickr Thanks for looking! C&C welcome.

    [MOC] 1966 Batmobile

I have always loved the 1966 Batmobile which is easily the best Batmobile of all time. I had the die-cast Corgi model when I was a kid and I just love this vehicle so I had to make one! I tried to capture the look and shape as close as possible to minifig scale. It's a 7-wide with a good amount of 1/2 stud offset throughout. I also added some custom stickers. I have a brick built front grill which I will probably share at some point but the stickers look better IMO. Pictures are here.
  5. Yes, it's another X-wing. I wanted to experiment with giving the T-70 full wings like the T-65, and this was the result. Not as elegant as the split wings, but I like it. It's meant to be an updated design for the Legends continuity. The T-68 X-Wing Starfighter was the successor to Incom's venerable T-65 X-Wing that saw extensive use by the Rebellion during the Galactic Civil War. The T-68 received extensive technological upgrades to bring it up to the requirements of the New Republic's elite fighter squadrons. First flown by the legendary Rogue Squadron in engagements against the Imperial Remnant, it quickly proved itself to be every bit the workhorse Incom's developers had hoped. Since it was such a basic mod, I decided to build a little diorama around it, representing a Rogue Squadron hangar. Minifigs are two ground crew members, Jaina Solo, and her wingmate Anni Capstan. The cockpit has a slot for Jaina's lightsaber or Anni's blaster. Feedback always welcome!

  9. Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Rules Thread What is BoBS? Brethren of the Brick Seas is a building community on Eurobricks open to all who wish to join. This is a maritime-oriented world where the technology level is parallel with the historical Age of Sail. There are currently four factions. Each member joins a faction, and builds to win points for their faction and for themselves, and to better their building skills. At any given time of the year there may be one or more building challenges where a builder may win recognition and sometimes prizes. On top of this, there is also a game mechanic that allows players to earn more gold and power for themselves and their faction. Check out the Master Index for links to the other rule threads. Building in BoBS Starting Off: Join a faction and get to work building and creating in the world of BoBS by posting a sig-fig in your chosen faction thread. You are not required to play the game mechanic (the EGS), but this is the way scores are kept for those who want to keep score. Nonparticipants in the EGS will still help their faction earn points. If you do choose to participate in the EGS, you will receive 25 DBs upon posting your sig-fig. If you build an introductory MOC, post that as a freebuild (see below). Freebuilds: A freebuild is a MOC that is not associated with any challenge. You may build as many of these as you wish! If you want the freebuild to count towards your and your faction’s score, then you will have to post it in its own thread, and a link to the build in the freebuild registration thread. Finally, to help the leadership keep score, you will report the build through a web form. See the Master Index for links. Challenge Builds: These are MOCs that have specific rules attached to them in order to participate in a challenge. These have their own type of reporting, depending on the challenge rules. Anyone is welcome to host a mini-challenge. However, to avoid too much overlap, we ask that you coordinate timing with leadership. A few basic limitations: 1) Fit in the time period. This would be the Age of Discovery to about 1830. Please, no steam ships! 2) You cannot infringe on another person’s story without their permission. IE: You can’t rob, plunder, and kill another player’s characters or property without first agreeing with the player to do so. There are plenty of resolution methods to help settle disputes or perhaps two or more builders want to plan out a story arc where some of their property is attacked by the other -- this is fine. Exceptions – MCRA results (see the MCRA Thread for more details), or squatting (see the Property Thread for more details). 3) MOCs should be appropriate for all of Eurobricks' audience and posts should comply with the TOS. 4) Digital building is permitted, but although you may enter challenges digitally, you will not be elegible for winning any physical prizes. Hints: 1) Life’s better with a mate(s)! Work with your team! Your faction has special rules, intricate politics, and claims on certain islands. Knowing how your team works and working on group projects, trade runs, and goals will help you get the most out of this roleplaying/building game. 2) I want to be Governor of the whole New World! Hold off on starting your own colonies for a little bit. It will be very tempting to start your own colony and get to work, but it might be more beneficial to work with a few other builders to build a colony. In the EGS your nations revenue is based upon how strong their colonial possessions are. In order to get earn more money, colonial settlements need lots of buildings. Trying to build a major settlement by oneself will be difficult. The Sea Rats are a little different here, and it may be in their best interest to create their own pirate nest early on. 3) It is only a game, and many people treat it as a roleplaying game. So don’t be mad at your fellow builders! Talk out your problems. Some people may just be “playing the role” of a dastardly and vile pirate, scum, or cheat, but in real life, they are probably pretty swell. Let’s keep it fun!

    [MOC] Speeder Bike KH-173

Presenting today a simple speeder bike assembled with the few parts I had at my disposal at that moment. It is obviously not rocket science but it could easily fit into a larger scene. MOC: Palutena

Today's character build is Palutena, a goddess of Light from Nintendo's Kid Icarus games... Though my insipiration comes from Smash Brothers, obviously. This MOC was rather tricky, especially the arms; It's hard to make them sturdy yet flexible in tan. There is more photos on my blog Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy.

    MOC: Cyira the Paladin

No backstory behind this MOC. Happy with it overall, though. The head was a tricky, but it eventually became probably my favorite feature of this. +30 photos on Cyclopic Bricks.

    [MOC] Loki's Shadow

I completed this SHIP some days ago for SHIPtember. I hope you like it. Loki's shadow by FonsoSac, en Flickr Loki's Shadow is a ship of the Confederation of Planets Human specializing in electronic warfare. Named after the deceitful norse god Loki. As the god Loki its power is not based on the strength of their arms but on the ability of creating confusion in enemy systems . Most of the interior is full of nano procesadores running AI programs that try to penetrate enemy defenses. In the Sgur system conflict Loki's shadow was crucial to disable all systems of the Admiral Garamon's flagship leaving it at the mercy of the Confederate frigates. The battle was decided with no casualties in 12 minutes. Loki's shadow by FonsoSac, en Flickr Known functions: - Interfere communications. - Capture and decrypt communications. - Disable enemy shields - Disable enemy weapons - Loosen the targeting systems - Confuse identification friend or foe systems causing friendly fire - Divert, direct or detonate launched missiles and torpedoes - Disable propulsion systems - Interfere enemy sensors to hide allied ships and/or show more ships than there really are in the battlefield - Avoid the enemy can do all the above in the ships of the Confederation Loki's Shadow by FonsoSac, en Flickr More photos on my flickr account

    MOC: Major Sir Edward Hornblom

You know, I tried to build a steampunk gal, but ended up with a stout Major armed with imposing moustache, warm greatcoat and decent bear hat instead... But I think it's all right. Couple of more shots on the blog, not much to say about this one though. Sir Hornblom just happened.

    MOC: Grand Prix Auto Services

Hello everyone! My latest build is finally complete after taking up most of my desk space for the last few months. It's called Grand Prix Auto Services. A Gas station/Garage which is of a streamlined style from around the 1930's/1940's USA. I struggled to build a car from that time with what bricks I have so went for a more late 50's look with the car and scooter. I've seen some great examples by fellow EB members L@GO and ER0L but felt with so many varied styles out there and not too many versions in Lego there was room for one more! Mostly I wanted to use some of the curved window pieces I had purchased some time ago and this was the perfect opportunity. Most of the model is built sideways with only a little vertical building in places. It's therefore a little less stable in certain sections. Anyway, enough waffle and on with the pics; Any feedback, comments or questions welcomed!

  19. Hello all, here is my new topic for all of my next creations. I think that making a topic for all of my creations is better than having to keep making another topic ans 'flooding' the front page. Enough of that and lest get on with Lego. Here is my latest creation. It uses a leaf spring suspension tatra axle suspension, instructions are available for the rear axle. pictures (only the underside): video will come soon. :oh:
  20. I made this quick and easy build from Bits and Pieces i had lying around.I didn`t plan anything,i just had a rough Idea of how it should look and just grabbed Piece after Piece from my Cardboard Box and looked how i could place it. The Result is a Stormtrooper standing in a Corner of a devastated Sidestreet, with ruined Buildings and Trash lying all over the Place. Of course this is only on a tiny 6y6 Plate but just imagine it being Part of something bigger: This Build was a lot of Fun and also an early Christmas Present for a Friend at Work (which i tried turning him into an AFOL,He is vulnerable to the Brick Side of the Force....only needs to Push into the right Direction) Needless to say he really liked the little Display. Hope you like it too.
  21. Christmas is coming! This is perfect time for my Lego X-mas creation. I present the Santa’s Workshop... umm, I mean Santa Emperor Palpatine's Workshop. You have no idea who is he? Go away and come back when you gain some knowledge. Naaa, just kidding. I hope you know this gentleman. Alright, let's cut to the chase. Enjoy the pictures! Read more Bigger photos and full story here: LEGO Gallery - Santa Palpatine's Workshop Follow my new MOCs and articles at: Facebook | Flickr | Google+ --- Notice: This is a shortened version of the post from LEGO Blog - Bricks' Treasure. ------------------- UPDATED: I managed to finish Santa Palpatine Workshop's basement from the last post. I love Star Wars, but I wasn't really into LEGO SW. I think it is changing now. I really enjoyed building Imperial part of this MOC. And I am starting to feel disturbing need of getting more classic Star Wars trilogy minifigs. Read more Bigger photos and full story here: LEGO Gallery - Santa Palpatine's Workshop Upgrade

(MOC) Sith Lord of Metal band

The Sith Lord of Metal belts out some head-banging 'tunes to their enthusiastic fans With the Emperor on vocals, it can make for some raspy lyrics! Some contrasting backup vocals I'd been inspired to build this from a t-shirt depicting Sith characters performing at a concert. So using the Rock Band set, it eventually morphed into this. I'd have liked to try some different characters (Grievous on drums would be nice) but I'm rather happy with the result. Thanks go to some friends who lent me some minifigs and recommended including certain details. Now perhaps I can try adding some lights and sound! :) Your thoughts would be most welcome!
