  1. My newest character build, The Dean of Unseen University from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld books: The Dean's fat, vicious and hungry for food and power. He's also prone to external influences, and made a leather coat with "Born to rune" written on it during the onslaught of Music With Rocks In. It's naturally included here. With my previous Discworld character build, Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully: More on Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!

    [MOC] Porco Rosso

Porco Rosso, The Crimson Pig, the bravest of the bounty hunters of the Adriatic Sea. More on Cyclopic Bricks.

    [MOC]: Adela

This one began with the dress design, and was under construction for three months or so; it was going to be a basic standing figure, but I went for something different and adjusted it for a horizontal posing on some blankets or cushions. More photos and talk on on my newly revamped blog Cyclopic Bricks.

    [MOC] Foraois

The last build on my Four Seasons project - Foraois, Gel of mellow birch groves, buzz of bumblebees and all-out greenness. This began with a harvest theme, but the birch motif took over - Birch is by far the most common leafy tree species in Finland and Finland is pretty much one big forest. She also needed an animal friend, so I built a little magpie to sit on a finger. More pictures and talk on Cyclopic Bricks.

    MOC: Nori - Regal Armour

Build as relaxing little MOC between more challenging projects, Nori in his regal armour found at Erebor's vaults (and seen to briefly in The Battle of the Five Armies). I had bought 125 short black chain pieces from LUGBULK this year. I think they look very nice as chainmail. Few more shots and talk on Cyclopic Bricks. Thanks for watching!
  6. What a lovely day! Mad Max: Fury Road has been the best film for some time. Here's the two main protagonists from the movie, road warrior Max Rockatansky and Imperator Furiosa. The models are fully poseable. More on my blog Cyclopic Bricks.

    [MOC] Cohen the Barbarian

It's the time of the year when old bearded chap travels from house to house... Stealing the treasures, taking the virgins and killing the monsters... It's of course Cohen the Barbarian, Disc's most infamous barbarian hero! Cohen's 90-something and haven't managed to get killed; Decades on barbarian business have made him tough. He leads his Silver Horde of equally aged heroes and does what he's always done. He's the last old-school hero. This is based on a Discworld character by Sir Terry Pratchett; Especially on Paul Kidby's image on the cover of The Last Hero. More images on the blog! And Merry Christmas to every one of you!

    MOC: Major Sir Edward Hornblom

You know, I tried to build a steampunk gal, but ended up with a stout Major armed with imposing moustache, warm greatcoat and decent bear hat instead... But I think it's all right. Couple of more shots on the blog, not much to say about this one though. Sir Hornblom just happened.

    [MOC] Lingeán

Gel of fresh grass, bubbling streams, melting snow and sprouting flowers wherever she walks. The third piece in my Four Seasons project. The previous two, Fómhar and Forfhuarú dwell in the Action Figure subforum, but I posted this one here as this definitely isn't an acyion figure (the legs are too fragile). Summer is coming (Brace yourselves, or suspender whatever). The main idea was to have bare feet so the flowers can sprout after them. I also wanted to use Friends balloon parts as a flower dress, and it nicley added some color to overall green scheme. The hair is ultimately my favorite part here. More pictures and talk can be seen and read on my blog, Cyclopic Bricks.

    MOC: Forfhuarú

Forfhuarú, gel of icicles, frost and winds of winter. Not much backstory here, probably goddes or personification of wintery things. Based on some piece uses, like trans-icy-blue double sockets, Kopaka's shield halves and Nuju Hordika's axes. Honestly around 60% SYSTEM though. More on the blog. Enjoy.

    MOC: King Dedede

My newest creation: King Dedede from Nintendo's Kirby and Super Smas Bros. games! King Dedede is Kirby's nemesis and a vert fat Penquin. Dedede's round shapes and pattern were rather challenging. I also took some liberties with the head to make is look funnier and slightly sillier. It was also nice to work with bright colors, as my creations often tend to use lot of brown and greys. There are more pictures&talk on my blog, as always. Enjoy!

    MOC: Rincewind & The Luggage

My latest Discworld MOC featuring two of the first characters on the series, coward wizard Rincewind and his magical chest monster The Luggage, both appearing in Color of Magic from 1983. Rincewind is based on Paul Kidby's impression. The Luggage's design was pretty universal; I'm especially happy how the teeth and the tongue turned out. More can be found on my blog. Enjoy.

    MOC: Dain II Ironfoot

This is Dain II Ironfoot, the lord of Iron Hills, The King under the Mountain and the scottish boss dwarf who rode that pig. The challenging part was the legs - All my previous dwarves have been standing still and this guy had a riding pose. It uses some small ball joints that are hidden under the armor skirt. The pig works on its own - Dain doesn't. Kill them elves! More on my blog, as usual. Enjoy.

    MOC: Commander Vimes

My newest Discworld build (which are both here and the Other Themes Subforum...), The next Discworld character is Sir Samuel Vimes, His Excellency, His Grace Duke of Ankh, The Blackboard Monitor and the Commander of Ankh-Morpork City Watch. Sam is here in his trusted old Night Watch uniform with dim and rugged breastplate, slightly rusty chainmail and second-hand boots. I also built a baton as it felt like suitable copper accessory. More can be found on the blog. Enjoy!

    MOC: Susan Sto Helit

Susan Sto Helit, granddaughter of Death and the substitute Grim Reaper from Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel Soul Music. I threwn in The Death of Rats too. That felt necessary. More on Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!

    MOC: Alice Nautia

(Alright, this might belong to action figures, but most system character are seen on this forum, so I though this was the right one). This is Alice Nautia, an ocean-themed steampunk girl. This was going to be a Bionicle MOC at first, but I made the skirt using Ewok glider's wings and so she turned out to be a steampunk gal. The skirt had a part looking like a fish's tail, so I added some other marine details: an Atlantis key jewellery and an octopus hairdo. More pics and talk on my blog. Enjoy.

    MOC: Mito

Here's an another character from Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind manga, Sergeant-in-arms Mito. This was pretty basic build with some challenge on the arms and the helmet. I also took some group shots with my other Nausicaä figures. From left to right, Mito, Nausicaä, Yupa and Kushana: More on Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!
  18. My newest addition to Nausicaä MOC series, the title character herself! This is based on Hayao Miyazaki's 7-part comic Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. I also built Nausicaä's Eftalian rifle and fox-squirrel Teto. Nausicaä also has her ceramic knife on her belt. More on Cyclopic Bricks.

    MOC: Princess Kushana

My second creation from Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind manga, Princess Kushana of Torukmenia: The scale mail is the main gimmick here. I first tried to build it using 1x1 plates with tooth, but it didn't work out. Fortunately cheese slopes worked fine and I had plenty of them. The cape was rather challenging too, as dark red isn't the most common of LEGO colors and it got heavy and hard to balance. But it seems to work now. Watercolor cover art of volume 3 was the main reference material here (The comic is in black and white). More stuff on my blog. Enjoy.

    MOC: Lord Yupa

Here's my newest Bricks of Character build, Lord Yupa, the mightiest swrodsman of Fukai, from Hayao Miyazaki's impressive Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind comic (or the movie). I let the cape to cover the arms for more dramatic effect. The colors are based on my own mental images, as the comic is in black and white. I also built a little base with some spores of Fukai. There is more on my blog Cyclopic Bricks. Enjoy!
  21. Here's yet another dwarf creation; Dwalin, the muscle of the group, in his reclaimed Erebor chainmail coat. This MOC was inspired by getting lot of those short chain pieces for cheap. The color scheme felt quite beautiful too, so I gave it a try. The axe was probably the hardest part. Weta's design had so odd 45 degree angles so I had to fiddle with it a long tme before coming up with a version that uses some magnifiying glasses and clip-bars to connest the blades. There is more talk on my blog. Enjoy!

    MOC: I Am the Mole

I turned the loo's taps to puke sewage! I set Volmar's toupee to fire, sank his Corvette to the canal! That's right: I am the postman of Job! The prophet of the doctrine of unpositive attidude, yes! I am the mole, scumbags! Earthmover! Terminator! Under your dwellings I shall dig my catacombs! And I shall not wait for your invitations but I'll invite myself; For your guest, for your blight, and your home is my castle! Your kitchen into a Turkish sauna and customer in there! So I sit on a freezer, ladling water to the stoves! Yes: I nest in shallow waters! I nest in shallow waters! Ch.: And now I'm having a Polaroid hidden in the ceiling... A recorder behind a painting... And harm watch will be harm catch! And in those days one fellow raved the whole month about mammals... After a hurricane snatches the furniture I shall eat the chosen bits of your lawn and the small feet groove all night... And when "ring ring" says the phone inside the head The ambulancemen don't say even that! Buy this: Ch.: And your mole goes: And nests in shallow waters! Rises out from your hot tub... Now! J. Martikainen 1993 Translated by me. This MOC was inspired by 1993 song " " by Finnish proge band YUP and the cover art of the EP with same name. I translated the lyrics, but this kight be quite self-explaining MOC... More on Cyclopic bricks. Enjoy.

    MOC: Younger Balin

Help me. Can't... Stop... Building... Dwarves... This one, Balin in his old Erebor coat, was done for a super secret dwarven project with Thráin. I got inspired by the rich color and details of the clothing; dark red is definitely one of LEGO's best colors. The arms are quite posable using ball joints on shoulders and minifig legs on elbows. There are more on my blog. Enjoy.
  24. Last Thursday, 12th of March 2015, world lost one of its greatest writers, Sir Terry Pratchett. This creation is dedicated to his memory. Mustrum Ridcully, the Archchancellor of Unseen University, is my favourite Discworld character. This creation was result of two days of intense building, beginning with the beard and finishing with the hunting crossbow. There are more photos on Cyclopic Bricks.

    MOC: Thráin

It's the time of the year when the bearded fellow in red clothes travels around the lands... But this time he has a warhammer instead of sack of presents and he shouts "Baruk Khazad! Khazad-Ai-Menu" instead of "ho ho ho"... This is based on the armor Thráin, father of Thorin Oakenshield, wears in the Battle of Azanulbizar near the gates of Moria. It is slightly seen in the extended cut of Desolation of Smaug. I'm very happy with the shaping of the armor - Had to buy a bunch of odd-shaped dark red parts on Bricklink before building... There are more photos on Cyclopic Bricks; Enjoy! And merry Christmas to everyone, and lots of rattling presents!
