  1. Please note: this build was inspired by Whoward69's signal tower, (link: https://www.flickr.com/photos/whoward69/3518188366/in/faves-55973205@N08/ ) this enlarged version features two modular-style removable sections (the roof and second floor) and a staircase to the upper floor. This model was designed to go along with my 7997-style yellow train station (Topic here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=92328#entry2162915 ) to go on my Lego layout. The rear of the tower is not decorated, save for some blue grill bricks and 1 x 6 arches. The name "TOWER 22" will go on the exposed studs on both sides. The signal gantry splits at the same level as the building's second floor, and is held onto it's base by a black 2x2 jumper. The tower has a computer on the second floor for train signal / switch direction control. This floor also features a clock, rotary dial telephone and a table lamp. Please note: The signal gantry was inspired by the one at L Gauge.com's instructions section. [MOC] Tower Chase

This is my latest creation I've called 'Tower Chase'. It is 5 robbers trying to escape the police by climbing a tower. Unfortunately they have dropped all their money while climbing. This video shows the Tower Chase MOC in more detail: I hope you like it. Let me know if you do. Mike

    Visiting Amfridus

This was an extremely fun build. I tilted the wood sections using ball joints, for the first time. The idea of the build was to create a wacky, and whimsical atmosphere. Hence the unusual colorscheme for the build. There's a full interior, and the elevator actually works. Also Amfridus has devised a bucket system whereby he procures water without leaving his home. Glorfindel's inventor friend, Gimcrack, was going to visit another inventor named Amfridus who lived in Avalonia. Glorfindel decided to accompany Gimcrack and see how the Mitgardian-Avalonian relations were faring after the recent crisis. Amfridus' home wasnt too far from the Mitgardian border, and they soon arrived at the winding path leading to Amfridus' tower and workshop: Amfridus, himself: His cave workshop: Bucket system, inside: See more pictures of the build here: link And see Gimcrack's house here: link C&C welcome
  4. This shed was first built around 2005 by my father as a present to me. It was originally three tracks long, with no side workshop, until I was about to order parts to increase it's length to four tracks. I suddenly decided that while I was at it, it should probably have a removable roof. It kinda snowballed from there into this design seen here. I added a workshop (with it's own removable roof) to the left side of the model. I then took the main section's roof off and made it detachable. The building is 100% build-able, but there is a catch: (Purists look away now!) I'm going to cut a 12 x 24 stud section of an already butchered 48 x 48 baseplate (It's currently in a 12 x 48 size strip, with thre rest being used on my father's own train shed) and replace the hodgepodge of baseplates seen in the picture. Basically, I'm keeping a 32 x 16 and two 16 x 16's for the main shed with the custom plate for the side work-area. The inside will be taken up by my dark green 2-6-0 "Mogul"-type steam locomotive number 4613. The workshop features tools from set 10027: (2003's Train Shed) a metal lathe, drill press and tool drawers, plus a coffee machine. The rear of the model. I only need to buy about 50% of the bricks. There are 833 total bricks in my new model minus the 418 in the original (unmodified) model, so 415 bricks to buy. (Those 3x4 roof slopes are going to be expensive!) My father built his original gray and black Water Tower way back in the 1990's, back when 9V was king. He made me my water tower in 2007, but I later realized that it needed a companion coaling tower. I made my first attempt at a much larger size than this using pictures from LGauge.com, a website of older Lego train models. Rear view of the refueling towers. I have these two models on my desk as we speak. (The coal tower was built in mid-December 2014.) 5. My first build for the Age of Mitgardia freebuild challenge. Category- Defense. Sub-Category- Tower, Phase 1. ------------------------------------- After returning from the raid on Nocturnus, we had encountered bad luck. Lydia's father had been kidnapped by one of the local Jarl's bullyboys. Lydia has told us she would hunt for he father. Wulf agreed, on the condition that someone accompany her. I, naturally, was the first choice. I knew this region of Mitgardia well, and I was a tracker, unlike my fellow crewmembers. So Lydia and I had set out, in hope of Finding her father. And here we were, at the boarders of Skaljarik, and Jarl Arian's domain. But try as I might, I couldn't convince Lydia to go there for help. So we pushed on. "Where's this, Logan," she asked. "The Outpost, we call it," I replied. "It's manned 8 months out of the year, but not now." "Can we camp here?" "Sure. It's a bit cold, but as good a shelter you'll find in the next day or so." Sirius, my dog, had also come with us. He, too, was a tracker. "Smell anything, Sirius?" I asked, knowing I'd get no answer. But Sirius' large, bushy tail waged, meaning there weren't any other beings in the immediate area. Sirius and I quickly ascended the steps. "Should I get us some meat?" Lydia wondered, looking up at us. "No," I replied. "The Outpost has food enough. It was true. The temperature was such that the meat remained frozen, and therefore didn't go stale. It had saved many a travelers life. And saved my stomachache from growling on more then one occasion. A few hours later, we had a warm fire, and were both sitting content after a good meal. Even Sirius had quite a bit to eat. Something had been bugging me, so I decided to ask Lydia. "Why would your father be kidnapped?" "Oh," She replied. "well, that's probably due to the fact that he challenges authority. A lot," she added. "He can really make a nuisance of himself. But he's a good person, and a great fighter. That's why most people tolerate him. "What about you father?" She asked, her curiosity aroused. "He's dead," I said, trying not to let her see the deep hurt it cause me to say those words. She realized how I felt, and said, "Sorry. I shouldn't have asked." "No, I replied. "You had no way of knowing." "Thanks for agreeing to come," She said, changing the subject. "I doubt any of the other's would have." Anything for a a friend," I replied, happy to talk about something else. But then I noticed how dark it was. "I'll take the first shift," I told her. "Is that really necessary?" "It is if we want to make sure no one sneaks up on us," I replied, not unkindly. As I took the shift, I thought over my actions in the last week or so. First, I had defied my closest friend, because of my continence. Then I had agreed to accompany someone I had only recently meet on a tracking mission that could very possibly be deadly. But in the end, I felt justified in both courses of action. As I looked out, I saw one of my favorite sights. The Northern Lights! For some reason, they soothed my soul. As much as this land was rugged and dangerous, it had an innate beauty, one that was not lost upon me. As Sirius and I gazed at the Northern Lights, I knew, despite everything else, I was proud to be a Mitgardian. I was proud to be a Raider, and even more proud to say I did have a continence. Builder's notes: For my first try with the rounded wall, I think it turned out well. Tell me what you think! Author's notes: So as usual, my story is pretty short, but I will have more depth in my next build. In any case, enjoy!

    An Embarrasing Encounter

The wonderful story you're about to read, was a collab effort. See if you can guess the authors (Setting: A simply but tastefully adorned room in a chateaux near a lake at the border of Kaliphlin and Avalonia. A young lady leans on the windowsill. Enter spy.) Spy: (bowing) Good day. Lady: (turning) How is it you are back already? Why, you're all wet! Spy: (embarrassed) Yes...yes... but I think I have discovered what you were looking for. Lady: Well? Spy: Early in the morning, just as the sun peeked up over the horizon and shot a gleam of its crimson rays across the dark and foreboding sky, kissing the golden dome on top of the magnificent stone edifice that loomed... Lady: I've seen the castle. There's no gold dome. Spy: There isn't? I was so intent on my task I hardly noticed, you see. Never mind - as I was saying, early in the morning I began to climb the walls, hanging at times only by my nose to the jutting angles of the stony walls, scraping my arms and knees, my heart thumping in my chest for fear I should fall. Once I looked down, and a cold shiver ran through me... Lady: You're making that up too. Spy: (embarrassed) Yes, I was. Well, to proceed. I climbed the walls and got in through one of the windows. It was an incredibly tight squeeze I assure you! Not only is the window itself tiny - as I'm sure you noticed when you visited (with a bow) - but the bars that crossed it were so small I had to exert all my strength... Lady: Really, can't we get on with the story? There aren't any bars either! Spy: I'm sorry. I had no idea you were so observant! Lady: (in an aggrieved tone) That's not the point! I didn't send you so I could hear some fancy story! I want to hear about his day. Spy: I promise, I'll stick to the story. Lady: Then begin! Spy: Over the wall, in the window. I was on the top of the castle, and could just peek over into Chillon's bedroom - he was just getting up... Spy: (grunting) So there he is! He sleeps in late, I'll say that much! Chillon: (stretching) Welcome morning! (jumps out of bed) Ouch! Canopy beds! (rubs head) (yawning) Caleb! (snaps fingers) Where's my breakfast? Caleb: Right here, sir Chillon. Chillon: Ah, delicious! Lady: (interrupting) What was his breakfast? Spy: Cherries, apple, and chicken. Lady: Hmm. That's an interesting breakfast. Spy: (shrugging) Probably part of why he's looking for a wife! To continue - Spy: (twisting) What is that in the corner? A second ago it looked like another bed, now - goodness, it's a mirror! Chillon: (humming to himself) Thank you! (continues to hum while walking toward the mirror) So far so good! Here, help me with the rest of my armor. Spy: Well, whatever you can say for the master the serving-man is even worse! The clown is putting the armor on backwards! Chillon: (angrily) Whatever is wrong with you, Caleb? You put it on backwards! Caleb: I'm very sorry. Just a minute sir. (fumbles with the straps) Chillon: There! You've knotted the top left to the bottom left and the right bottom to my belt! Oh, let me alone, I'll do the rest myself! Caleb: (penitently) I'm very sorry, indeed. Let me fix it (advancing). Chillon: No! Go downstairs and tell Mathew I'll be down for a sparring bout in just a minute. Caleb: Yes sir! (disappears down stairs) (after fixing his straps, Chillon walks over to the mirror and makes sure everything is just right) Chillon: Much better! Ah - my cape. (Caleb returns) Chillon: Did you tell him? Caleb: Yes. Chillon: Here, help me with the cape. Caleb: Of course (advances, stumbling over chair). Chillon: Never mind! Spy: (to Lady) You see? He certainly needs a wife! Lady: I'll have to admit that much. But I don't know that I'm so desperate! Spy: It gets better. Chillon: (fumbling with the wrong side of the cape) I could use some help! Lady: I thought you said it gets better... Spy: I meant, in a little while. Lady: Go on, then. Spy: (clears throat) Caleb: (picking the chair up) Coming! Spy: At last! Perhaps we'll be able to see the 'sparring bout' now. Spy: I noticed as they left that he hadn't eaten the apple or the cherries. In fact they might have been fake. Lady: Nothing but chicken for breakfast?! Spy: Nothing but chicken! Continuing - I snuck down the stairs after they left and got down to the armory just when the sparring match started. Chillon: There's nothing like the sound of steel clashing on steel! Matthew: You're right there, sir Chillon! Chillon: (waving his sword wildly backwards) Here it comes! Matthew: Watch out sir! The candle! (Chillon's sword cuts through the wax and the candle crashes to the floor.) (A long pause.) Lady: Well, what happened? Spy: (awkwardly) I think I laughed. Lady: You laughed? What kind of spy are you? Spy: I know, I know, but it really was funny! Matthew was trying to beat the flame out with the sword, but Chillon hadn't noticed it yet and he was attacking Matthew... Matthew: Sir Chillon! What are you doing! Can't you see you cut the candle down? Chillon: (in surprise) You're right! I knocked the candle down! Ha! Eat dust, flames! (Chillon runs to another candle.) Take this! Matthew: (running up) Sir! It's just a candle! (laughter from behind pillar) Chillon: What was that? (spots spy behind pillar) Look! A spy! An enemy at last! Get him! (runs after spy) Spy: (apologetically) Of course, I turned around and ran. I couldn't let him catch me. Lady: Of course not. Spy: So I went up the stairs. Lady: Naturally. Spy: And Chillon followed me. Lady: Not surprising. Spy: Then I went up the ladder. He kept following. Lady: Proceed. Spy: He's very fast. Lady: What is that supposed to mean? Spy: He caught me. Lady: What?! Chillon: What on earth are you doing here? Spy: Sir, I assure you my intent was friendly... I.... um... Lady: I hope you didn't tell him why you were there. Spy: (clears throat) Um... Lady: You didn't! Spy: (hurriedly) No! No! Not at all... er... at least... not all... Lady: Tell me what you said. Spy: I think I said... that you sent me... and... that was all. Chillon: Really! How did you get here? Spy: See that boat? Chillon: Can you swim? Spy: Er... yes. Chillon: Then do so! (throws spy out window) Chillon: (shouting) And tell your lady that I'll be there in an hour to see if it's true! Lady: What?! Spy: (apologetically) That's what he said. (enter Serving-man) Serving-man: (announces) Sir Chillon! ... More pictures of the build: This build was based off of the real Chillon Castle from Switzerland, in particular this section: link It's the first castle I've done that is pretty realistically scaled. On the first floor is an armory, and on the second floor is Lord Chillon's room. The layout was rather challenging, as were the roofs, but I'm pleased with the final result. The thick walls let me use some new window and arrow slit designs. I experimented a bit more with a SNOT wall design, as the tower gradually gets thinner. The bartizan (overhanging corner turret) is my first, and I'll probably be doing lots more of those in the future. Hope you enjoyed the story and you can see lots more pictures here: link C&C always appreciated

    Beacon Tower

After the initial surge of hand soldiers into the Moruth Swamps, the forces of Nocturnus began to stem the tide and push back, essentially creating a perimeter that divided the swamp in half. To solidify their hold, droves of Goblins, Orcs and various other tribes began to build fortifications on every stable outcrop and rock face in the swamps. These out posts, known as Beacon Towers, are designed to alert the people of Nocturnus of any sizable incursion of hand forces, allowing for a quick and effective counter attack. A Orc general is seen here passing through on a giant salamander, inspecting the towers and scouting locations for new ones. Along with knowledge of the swamps, this is the primary advantage that Nocturnian Armies hold on this battlefield. The Giant Salamander is a powerful war mount, native to northern edges of the swamps. They can go and fight where horses and siege engines cannot. It is dressed in heavy wooden armor, as metal armor wold drown the beast as it wades and swims across the deeper pools, and the wood is buoyant, supporting some of the beast's weight and absorbing water, a wonderful defense against flame arrows. Would like to make the following UoP Claims: +1 on Architecture-Wall techniques +1 on Architecture-Roofing +1 on Hydrology-Still Water +1 on Geography-Swamps
  8. Hi, the German Company Wilbert produces tower cranes with a unique feature: in order to optimize transport dimensions, the jib changes its height as well as its width along its length. To be able to travel the whole length of the jib, the traveller has two sets of wheels at different widths, which travel on different levels along the jib. Thus, Wilbert cranes can easily be identified due to the distinctive step in the middle of the jib, which can be seen for example here. Today I was wondering if this unique design can be built using Lego Technic. Here is the result of three attempts, rebuilt in LDD: This is a view of the boom with the traveller on it here the jib alone, shown from the tip and here from the other side this is the traveller. The ropes which move the traveller can be knotted to the center holes of the traveller. The end leading to the tip runs around the pulley at the tip and is then leaded back through the jib by several eyes (parts 32034 and 87082), which also act as distance holders and stiffeners for the bottom of the jib. The lifting rope runs around the pulleys in the traveller down to the hook block. It's end can be knotted at the grey eye at the tip below the pulley (part 6536). I haven't tried yet if the assembly works with ropes. But the traveller runs very smooth along the jib, and there is hardly any step at the transition between upper and lower level. Thus I think that motorizing this thing shouldn't be a problem. Also I'm quite satisfied with the bending stiffness of the jib, so I guess it could take quite some load. Interesting enough, the heights of both jib parts match really good. When taking the WT 650 as a prototype, the scale in height is 1:45,1 for both parts. This is altough the height is kind of predefined by the Lego-parts and the function of the jib. The width doesn't match as well, the Lego-jib is quite a bit too wide. There are two details I'm not really happy with: 1) the connection of the inclined 1x11 Liftarm to the tip of the large jib section. The LA is supported by a 3L pin only from one side, which is not good regarding bending forces. If there were 1x7 LAs with an axle hole at one end, this could be done with a 5L axle. Since such parts don't exist, a 6L axle could be used in combination with half-width bushings. 2) I'm not really confident about the connection of the traveller frame to the upper part only by the four 3x5 L-liftarms and the black pins. maybe it'd be better using 1x7 or 1x9 LAs to transmit the vertical forces. On the other hand, the traveller as it is now is quite compact and reduced to the absolute necessary. That's it for now. I don't know whether I'll proceed with this model or not. If anyone wants to improve or complete it, here's the LDD-file. cu, Robert
  9. Hello everyone, after few weeks of work I get a brilliant idea for creation, and so I started to build it in LDD. After 5 days of thinkink designing, drawing I created this Tower. It is quite similar to the Bell tower from actual BOFA movie, but I added few more things of my own and by using some of new (for me) techniques which I learnd from my previous LDD creation) I can present to you this MOC. I am so amazed by this, that finally I will turn it into the real bricks. It will be my biggest Lake Town add on which will be turned into the real creation. My previous ones are already done, but I want to finish a small Lake Town diorama so then I will present it in here after all will be done. Enjoy it and for those who want to share some advice how to make it even better I can share LXF file and also I will be glad for any feedback :) So here is link to my flickr...
  10. Here is my Victorian-inspired train station and signal tower. If I made a topic about the station before, I am sorry. I'm reposting it as I couldn't find it. First up is the station: Background info: This station was built between the East & West Barrett's Tunnels in 1893 by the Missouri Pacific Railroad. It was used until 1944, when the war-time traffic became too much, and the two single track tunnels were bypassed by a double track cut-through built right next door. The Station and the West tunnel were preserved, while the East tunnel was covered up and buried under a road, which was eventually named Barrett's Station Road. The site of the station was turned into a museum known as the Museum of Transportation. Builder's notes: This station was originally the Toy Shop from the Winter Village series of LEGO sets. In real life, the story I just told you is 100% true. However, the Barret's station was not made in 1893, and looks nothing like the one seen here. The inspiration for the station came from the real-life Kirkwood Railroad Station which was built in 1893, is still used by Amtrak and is located a short distance up the track from the Museum of Transportation. Their are supposed to be printed 1x1 tiles spelling out BARRETTS on the sign on the front on the station. The other version I uploaded yesterday of this station will not work with my budget, so I went back to the drawing board and looked at my original station made from set 10199. I then combined the best of both stations into this model. This station is the fourth station I have made from 10199, and uses mostly parts from the second version from 2013. Here we see the station separated into it's modular components: - left platform - right platform - station building with access ramp (lower level) - station building and roof (upper floor) - station building tower roof The inside of the station features the following on the first floor: inside seating, stone fireplace, and a old-fashioned cash register for ticket sales. (This piece: http://www.bricklink....asp?P=3039pb26 ) The second floor (tower) is a employees-only area and houses some machinery. Here is the brand new street side of the station. This side includes an overhang that protects passengers from the rain.\ Next is the tower: Fictional History: This tower was built in 1893 at the same time as Barrett's Station, to control the single track mainline. The tower was updated in 1928 with modern controls and bypassed in 1944 by a double-track cutoff to avoid the bottleneck of the two single-track Barrett's Tunnels. The tower was preserved by the Museum of Transportation and has been recently turned into a public lookout point for the busy Brick Railway Systems mainline. Builder's Notes: This is a Signal tower that matches the color scheme and design features of my Barrett's Station model. This Victorian-era tower features a signal bridge, a spiral staircase to connect the two floors and a signal / switch computer from more modern times. The story on Barrett's Station is inspired by real life, but the real station was a one story affair and had no tower accompanying it. The Museum of Transportation does exist, however, and there is an elevated platform (at the way back of the property) to watch Union Pacific trains go by every fifteen minutes or so. The first floor features the spiral staircase. The signal arm disconnects from the first floor, and is attached to the second floor. The signal arm is a modified version of the one at the L Gauge website. (Link: http://lgauge.com/ ) The second floor features the control panel for the lights, and a desk for dispatching orders to the train crews, or in this case, holding a newspaper. The (updated) LDD file for the station is here: http://www.mocpages....1428338100m.lxf The LDD file for the tower is here: http://www.mocpages....1419790555m.lxf This model was inspired by set 10199, Winter Village toy Shop. The model is up for a remodel into a double sided version with a bigger interior, so I though I'd take some pictures while it's still together in this form. The platform splits off into three parts: left side (which is about three tracks in length) right side, (which is about one track long) and the building itself. (which is two tracks in length) The building is open backed, and features a desk on the top floor and ticket counter with cash register on the first floor. Comments welcome!

  12. Here is my entry to Category C of Challenge III. Hope you enjoy the builds, especially Slowbelly Keep which was my big project of the year. And I tried some new stuff with it, including SNOT walled buildings with interiors. The events here take place just after my Category A build: link. Several dwarven clans had been given the mission of invading Avalonia from above ground while others advanced through tunnels. So far everything was going as planned for the dwarves. The groups on the surface used tents to set up temporary camps as they journeyed to the border: Thanks to Jonathan, Glorfindel now had a good idea of what the dwarves' plans were, but he still needed more specific information so that he could stop the dwarves before they crossed the border. Therefore he payed a visit to Kenan, the candlemaker in Hradheim, and one of the best sources of information in Mitardia: Hradheim was located just south of Amortug, which made it easy for Kenan or his apprentices to pick up bits of information about the dwarven invasion from dwarves traveling through the town. Kenan was able to supply Glorfindel with the routes several dwarven clans were taking to infiltrate Avalonia, and which clans were most in favor of the attack and which were just going along with the others. Realizing that quick action was called for, Glorfindel dispatched messengers to arrange a meeting involving Elves, Dwarves, and Men at the great hall in Fjollum, a city located almost on top of the Mitgardia/Avalonia border and often used for diplomatic meetings. Then Glorfindel himself led a group of calvary to capture the Anarfell clan leader, one of the staunchest supporters of the invasion: Surrounded and outnumbered, even the stubborn dwarves realized that surrender was the only option. After disarming the group, Glorfindel and his men escorted the dwarves to deserted Slowbelly Keep (rumoured to have been the cage of Slowbelly the dragon in ages past), which would serve as their temporary prison. After securing the prisoners and mounting a fresh horse, Glorfindel rode for Fjollum... See here for continuation of story. A section of the dwarven army had already reached Avalonia and moved into place to besiege Myrr Castle, a strategically placed stronghold vital to the success of the invasion. The dwarven siege engines were in place and they had already made good progress on a tunnel under the castle, when a dwarven messenger mounted on a warg charged in to deliver news. Fortunately the message arrived in time to prevent bloodshed. The catapult and ballista work, watch here: And you can see a video of the build process as well: And that concludes my Challenge III builds. C&C appreciated

The crimson wizard retires to his dark tower in order to reflect, plan and gather his thoughts. No one enters the dark tower except the sorcerer himself. He has stricken every plant and tree on the surrounding grounds except the red anemone. He has caused this flower to flourish. No one knows how or why. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment and critique. Thanks! Visit my Brickshelf page for more pictures.

Hello motivated by Capt. Braunsfeld here my current MOC I have worked on a long time. This tower and a few same towers where build by the bluecoats at strategic points in the jungle of their mainland Sabatina. When a tower watch a pirateship or redcoats the soldiers make a fire into a golden mirror at the top of the tower. Because of this sign the governor know where will come and is able to make Port Royal ready to what comes. Sorry for the unsorted pics, I can´t it better than that.
  17. Hey guys! This is my first entry to this year’s CCC, to the Fairy Tale Castle Category. It’s Rapunzel’s Tower. According to the original story written by the Brother’s Grimm, Rapunzel was a beautiful girl, locked up by an evil witch on a tower with no doors or stairs located deep in the forest. After a year or two, it came to pass that the Prince rode through the forest and went by the tower. He heard a song which was so lovely that he stood still and listened. This was Rapunzel who in her loneliness passed her time singing. The Prince wanted to climb up to her, and looked for the door of the tower, but none was to be found… The rest, you all know… :p It was a HUGE pain to photograph a MOC this size. The lighting never seemed right and in honesty I don´t think the photos do justice to this build, but I di9d the best I could :/ Some photos: Rapunzel's Tower Rapunzel's Tower Rapunzel's Tower

    AoM: Tower Phase 2

Some outposts in Graystar were upgraded during the winter months. More permanent stone towers were built, especially around the city of Volhaal, the captial of Graystar. These particular towers were built on top of old dwarven tunnels from ages past to make them more secure. Tower of Volhaal Storage and Access Tunnel Finally after a long wait for a bricklink order I got my phase 2 built All C&C welcome, and can I move on to phase 3?
  19. This MOC was built by my 12 year old brother. Kendrick and our heroes are traveling to Gravensteen. On their way they pass a watchtower: More pictures here:link He would appreciate any C&C

    Great Elk Longhouse

Continuing the collab between myself and MKJoshA. I wanted to try another Norse style wooden building, and decided to do a longhouse with belltower. This was my first time using this wall design (which is SNOT tile paneling in between 2x2 round pillars), and I'm quite happy with the effect. As always there's a full interior. After the rather unsuccessful first attempt to try and convince the Great Elk clan and the people of Teridyan to work together during their recent food shortage, Wyndor and Glorfindel traveled to the Longhouse of the Great Elk Clan for one more try. They were still unable to convince the Clan to try and help, and were just preparing to leave the hall when a clansman rushed in. "Sound the bell! There's a dragon attacking the village," he gasped. The men quickly seized their weapons and rushed outside to find a medium sized Frost Dragon approaching the hall itself. Two Teridyan soldiers who had been passing through the village were trying to hold the beast off, but one had already succumbed to its icy breath: The dragon put up a fierce struggle, but the clansmen, Glorfindel, and Wyndor were able to kill it without losing any men. Though, the soldier who had been struck by the beast's breath lost the arm holding his shield to frostbite. Wyndor was first to speak after the dragon finally collapsed, "Well Dain, what do you think now? These Teridyan soldiers just risked their lives to defend your village and people. Surely the Clan can continue to help supply food for the city." "I suppose we might be able to give them a hand, " Dain replied gruffly. "But how will we get enough food for our own village and Teridyan?" "Perhaps you could train some of the men from Teridyan how to hunt and trap," Glorfindel suggested. "Or organize a trade route with some of the cities or clans less affected by this famine. Between Teridyan and the Clan you have many able bodied men to work with, I'm sure something could be arranged." More pictures of the build: Without figs C&C welcome

    AoM: Tower Phase 1

Outposts can be found across the divide between North and South Graystar. Since the problems in Nocturnus and Avalonia, Edward von Graystar ordered the building of more of these outposts. This particular type are temporary and are in place until a tower can be built in there stead. Just a quick entry for the AoM: Tower Phase 1. This is one of my favourite builds so far, and any C&C is welcome as per usual, also the tan tops of the wood was inspired from one of SK's builds

    Kaliphlin Inland Sea Tower

The final Version of the tower on the inland sea which I have been working on, the latest addition to it is the battlements (thank you Gabe for the suggestion), and the reduction of the roof due to the increased size of the battlements. This is also the first moc I have made that has a (short) story to go along with it. Archaeologist Professor Durnovian is searching for the legendary remains of one of the first settlers on the inland sea, the settlers lord Vanderfel from long before the 4 guilds where established. Vanderfels resting place and most importantly the island lords legendary great sword, the location of the sword was lost when the islands were overun by Orcs and most of the islands records were lost. Little did he know that the legendary lord lay only a few studs away under one of the many towers built to give warning of the numerous attacks by the pirates that plagued that part of Historica.

    Kaliphlin Inland Sea Tower

One of the first fortifications to be built on the inland sea. I rebuilt my fort adding in the tan 1x2 bricks to brake up the wall a bit thus avoiding big gray wall syndrome. I also wanted to try out this roof design.

    Daydelon's City Wall

My phase 3 build for the Wall category in AoM. My main goals for this build were to experiment with making walls with batter (sloped sections), hoardings (the wooden addittions to the tower), and larger buildings than what I generally build. The apothecary hinges open and has a full interior, and I think the windows right under the gables are a new design. Daydelon continued to expand: new businesses such as apothecaries, blacksmith's, and coopers were popping up throughout the city. And eventually the small stone wall didn't provide enough space or protection. As such, a new much larger stone wall strengthened with towers was built. You can see more pictures here: link All C&C appreciated

    Ancient tower

Shortly after crossing into his territory Lord Dan received a letter, sent by magical means, from his friend Mage. Inside were directions to a meeting location... At the location specified in the letter they found an ancient ruined tower, which the quickly proceeded to explore. Dan walked through the first room, noting that scavengers and time had robbed the room of nearly all decoration, leaving only piles of rubble. He climbed the staircase to the second floor, where Mage was waiting to greet his old friend.
