    Cardinal's Shadow

Another one of my long forgotten vessels finally presentable. (started ~May 2017, forgotten since 1st September 2017) Having lost the Cardinal in the Battle of the Five fleets, replacement was needed. With the funds available, it was quickly decided that another frigate, maybe a bit faster and lighter, would be needed to replace it. Farrucio Paraja quickly came up with a design; due to various delays a sistership of the Cardinal itself had been finished much faster then the new vessel. Now, half a year later, the delays have been resolved and the vessel been finished. Now that its done, it is time to head out to hunt pirates... To load more cargo, the ships boats had to be dropped off. Lots of various pieces of cargo were being loaded aboard the vessel. Quick overview over the whole vessel: Fishing issues, already noted a couple days ago, popped up once again. With most cargo loaded, it was time to load the small boats - 5 of them, if we ever need to get to any island with the whole crew it would certainly be possible. Waving goodbye:

[MOC] LL424 Aura - Battle Frigate

Forge Class Battle Frigate Name: LL424 Aura Length: 212 meters Armament: Falconer missile pod (1) Centurion anti-cruiser main laser cannon (1) Peacekeeper long range orbital bombardment cannon (1) Ion burst cannons (1) Heavy laser turrets (3) Medium laser turret (1) Dual-link anti-fighter laser turrets (5) Quad link anti-fighter laser turrets (5) Complement: Up to 8 Warden Class Interceptors Crew: 180 Following the “Long War” era, the New Coalition settled into its new role as galactic peacekeepers. While sweeping social legislation aimed to prevent the inequality that sparked the Long War was the primary thrust of the New Coalition’s work, the Coalition also devoted a large number of resources to develop a fleet of ships that would work directly for the Center Assembly to quell disputes between member worlds and their militias as well as protect against alien invasions. The first ship to enter service in the new fleet was the LL424 “Aura”, a Forge Class (Class 9 battle-rating) Battle Frigate designed to overpower rogue hyper-planetary group cruisers and function as the primary weapons platform for the New Coalition. Forge Battle Frigates proved to be well designed for the tasks assigned as its port side “Falconer” missile pod battery and weapons turrets could easily overpower smaller pirate and planetary militant cruisers and the large port side “Centurion” primary weapon which was capable of matching and surpassing the weaponry and armor on larger class 10 cruisers or even capital ships. Despite its reputation as a workhorse, the Forge Battle Frigate was known to have a few drawbacks. The hangar bay was oft criticized as undersized, especially with the advent of the larger “Warden Class” Interceptors. Despite the relatively small confines, the Forge Battle Frigate could carry up to eight Warden Class Interceptors, (though a squadron of six Interceptors and two transport shuttles was more common). Most class 9 cruisers carried no fighter compliment at all. The Forge Battle Frigate was also criticized for the flight control and main bridge placements which rendered the heavy laser turrets incapable of firing in a complete 360 degree range. In addition, while anti-fighter gun emplacements on the cruiser meant the ship had above average protection from fighter attacks, its lack of speed meant it was not a capable “fighter hunter” and susceptible to swarming fighter attacks. In order to address this shortcoming, the cruiser was usually paired with a gunship like a Kiltrip Defender. Kiltrip Defenders, which are widely regarded as lethal fighter hunting ships, are equipped with their own faster-than-light capable engine drives, but to conserve fuel, the gunships typically docked to the docking port on the starboard side of the Forge Battle Frigate until needed. The Forge Battle Frigate also carried a single undermount Planetary “Peacekeeper” orbital bombardment cannon designed to smash fortified installations. The frigate, however, did not carry any ground assault troops, leaving such a task up to specialized assault craft. The Forge Battle Frigate was instead considered a “space superiority” ship and not an all-purpose craft, though it excelled greatly in its role. Though the frigates’s exterior was viewed as largely utilitarian, it was also built in anticipation that the crew would spend a lot of time patrolling and on peacekeeping “show of force” missions. As such, the Aura’s interior was designed with creature comforts in mind, including a unique bridge configuration featuring oversized viewports on both the main and flight bridges. These view ports, each pane of which were nearly four meters wide and nearly four meters tall, were built using Vortigan crystal, a rare and extremely strong transparent material that was stronger than the surrounding metal elements on the vessel. The Vortigan crystal is so unique that Coalition fighters and vessels are frequently salvaged solely to recover the crystal windscreens. The oversized viewports showed the beauty of space as well as offering an unprecedented view during battle. The Forge Battle Frigate also had an observation post and science station mounted on the underbelly of the craft granting a unique view as well as a place to marvel at the wonders of space. 3. With the proclamation from the Colonial Council calling for anti-piracy patrols, one captain is ready. At the helm of his brigantine, the captain discusses his plans with one of his trusted crew. And he's off on the hunt! Profile view: --- I know I'm light on story, but just wanted to get this build posted. It's a little retro at the bow, but that's the mood I seem to be in lately. All C&C welcome.
  4. I was playing around with some gray hull pieces last week and, inspired by last month's discussion of Ayrlego's receipt of a nearly complete 6271 Imperial Flagship and the subsequent discussion of modifying it, I came up with the following: The lines of set 6271 should be apparent, but the different color scheme really changes the appearance of the ship, as does the stretch modification. Some more views: A view of the stern: Sailing away... All C&C welcome!

    Whaling Xebec

Hi, I based this ship off the fictional whaling ship "Essex" from the movie "In the Heart of the Sea" and the "Colour of the Wind" by Legostone https://www.flickr.com/photos/legostone/. The colour scheme and the fact that the ship is a whaler were based of the "Essex" but the ship itself is based off the "Colour of the Wind". Xebecs were ships used pretty much only in the Mediterranean as either pirate or trading ships and there are no examples of them being used as whaling ships meaning that this ship is slightly unrealistic. Any feedback is appreciated and there are more photos on my Flickr. IMG_3942 by SheepBlubber, on Flickr IMG_3943 IMG_3945 IMG_3946 IMG_3947 IMG_3948 by

    Thunder

A vessel orginially planned for the ESL-MAR conflict has finally been finished. A little bit late, but with a bit of luck (?) it can find a use in the future. Here is the Bomb Ketch Thunder:
  7. I built this 103-stud long 1920's Adventurers tramp steam ship from two Adventurers sets: I used the boat from set 5975 (T-Rex Transport) and modified slightly to resemble set 5976 (River Expedition). The ship features a lifeboat, steering wheel, and a smoke-stack plus I have the bridge with removable roof for the top deck of the ship, and captain's quarters for the lower floor. I also have signs on the front of the ship spelling out the name of the vessel: the Eastern Star. Built in 1915 for the Octan Petroleum Corporation as an ocean going tramp steam ship (made for hauling huge pumping gear out to remote oil fields in the Middle-East), the Eastern Star ran aground off the coast of southern Italy in mid-1916 while heading to England. Captain Karloff (who now owns the ship after buying the wrecked hulk), with help from mechanical genius Mac McCloud, rebuilt the vessel to be sea worthy once more. This ship has been an great help in getting huge treasures, such as the lost golden dragon of Marco Polo, back to western civilization and into museums where they belong. The ladders hanging on the side of the lower deck lead the way to the ship's bridge on the upper level. The life boat is also back here, just in case of emergencies! Here you can see inside the ship's bridge (upper deck) and captain's quarters. (lower level) Some of the recent cargo of the Eastern Star includes: - a gyro-copter (set 70913 MOD) - silver ingots and coins - silver and gold nuggets - Dynamite (the accompanying plunger is in the Captain's Quarters / map room) - Ancient spears - the Maltese Falcon - the Burma Chicken (long-lost cousin to the Falcon) - two halves of a long-lost pirate's treasure map - Money - large rough-cut ruby - poison bottles - antidote bottles Here is a closer look at the gyro-copter model which was heavily modified from set 70913 (Scarecrow Fearful Face-off) from the LEGO Batman Movie line. I added the classic two seat Adventurers cockpit piece which is usually used on land vehicles, plus a new set of vintage 2003 landing skids. This model also comes with red and green navigation lights and two independent propeller blades. The gyro-copter is usually used in tandem with the Eastern Star steamship, scouting ahead for signs of villainy and danger and reporting back to the Eastern Star and / or home base at the supply depot. The copter is nicknamed the Lightning Rod, for it was Charles "Lightning" Kilroy who designed it. When not in use, the copter is stored on the cargo deck of the tramp steamer. As usual, comments, questions, suggestions, and complaints are always welcome!
  8. The Nagra Luca An entry into "A Safe Haven", the Fifth Anniversary Challenge, Category C Henjin Quilones, Knight of the Druidi Order of Historica, exile from Hesperia, and his constant companion, Galaria, formerly Princess of Hesperia, now an exile like Henjin, were discussing their journey on the poop deck of the Nagra Luca. The swift ship was making good time as it sailed ever westward, veering only the slightest bit south. It had been some time since they had left the Isle of Tíre, fully stocked with provisions for a journey that could possibly take months. And it had, several months longer than anticipated, in fact; they had been aboard this vessel, now terribly small and cramped, for far too long. The food supply was now rather short, nearly as short as the tempers of the crew as they spent their time walking the same planks and pulling the same ropes each and every day, seeing the same eighteen people day and night. The wolves in the hold below were particularly restless, and one at a time they were brought up to pace on the deck when the weather was fair, just to stretch their legs a bit. Skoll, Henjin's white wolf, had even leaped overboard once and swum with some dolphins for a spell before they could lower the rowboat and fish out the sodden beast from the briny waves. The whole hold had smelled of wet fur for a week afterwards. "We must be getting close, Henjin," said Galaria with a sigh. "We are, I can feel it," replied Henjin. "Sir Kravek's charts were clearly mistaken about some of the nautical distances, as this journey has gone on long enough, but those rocky fingers we passed sticking out of the sea yesterday at noon are supposed to be only a day's sail from shore to this new place. And besides, Hamisha has been saying for a few days that the smell in the air is that of her home, so we must be close." "My lord Henjin, Lady Galaria, the smell is stronger than ever, too!" shouted Hamisha from where she was looking over the maps and charts. "I apologize for interrupting!" "Apology accepted!" Galaria shouted back and shook her head. "She has always been a strange one," she said in a low voice, "not like the rest of my wolfriders. These Mwamban elves must be an odd lot if they are all like her. She is reliable, though." "What are we going to do once we get to Mwamba, though, Galaria? We are a crew of exiles, castaways now from your home, refugees far, far away from my own, with little in the way of a trade or skill to earn our silver and gold. I have some magic, I suppose, and you can hunt, and we are all good with swords, but unless there is some sort of conflict going on that particular skill is not very useful. What are we to do?" "We will figure it out in good time, Henjin," the elf said, resting her head on his shoulder. "We are together, and that is what is important to me. Besides, I was a princess, and I am still an elf, and elves are always welcoming to other elves, with the exception of my father. And we have Hamisha." "Who is now twice exiled, and still will not tell us what she did to be kicked out of Mwamba in the first place, I must point out." "You worry too much, my handsome druid." "Land ho!" came the shout from the lookout up in the rigging. "I see land!" Allicea shouted again. Soon others were climbing the rigging and crowding the gunwales of the fo'c'sle trying to see the shimmering blur on the horizon denoting land. "I see it too!" shouted Celdrian triumphantly. Soon the Nagra Luca was making her way into a harbor, with a large city overlooking the water. Small fishing boats were dotting the waves, and the shouts of people from the shore reached their ears. Henjin, Galaria, and Hamisha were lowered in the rowboat to the water and made their way to one of the docks. Some more pictures: ________________________________________________________________________________ ................................................................................................................................................................ C&C welcome! This was my first attempt as an AFOL at making a ship (besides, of course, the official ship sets that I have acquired over the past few years), and I am rather pleased with the outcome. I went entirely brickbuilt instead of using any of the large hull pieces that I have, since I wanted to try my hand at it and liked the look of it better. The ship is inspired by the lateen-rigged vessels of the past, particularly the caravel of Portugal and the dhow of India/Arabia, as well as a Ninjago ship built by @Garmadon, with some elvish flair of my own.
  9. Class 6 Heavy Frigate "Lightning" Coppered hull Ship by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr My most recent ship build is this copper hulled heavy frigate which I have dubbed the "Lightning". It's got 40 guns in total. It has 20 24-pounders on the bottom deck and 14 9-pounders on the top deck. There are 2 24-pounders and 4 9-pounders facing backward. It has a copper hull for speed and maneuverability as well as 3 square-rigged masts. Crew size would be around 15ish. It has a small cargo hold/powder mag and has a weapon storage to arm the crew in case of ship boarding. 10. Captain's log, February 7th, 618 AE HMS Ironsides, moored in King's Harbour Today, I took the new brig-of-war, recently commissioned as the HMS Beagle, on her maiden voyage. She proved to be a sturdy, stable, and well-handling little brig, although a bit slow in stays, but I should think restowing her ballast will fix that. While King's Harbour has plenty of able seamen to man her, we are remiss of junior officers, which meant I had to take her out myself. In a way, it was a pleasure getting back to commanding a small vessel, feeling the water rushing by the hull. However, the situation is untenable, and I shall need someone to take command. Perhaps young Lavendwood would be an option? ( @Flavius Gratian) He has done good work with the gun boats and will benefit from experience in commanding a larger vessel if he is to earn his promotion to commander. I shall consider this. Something must be done about our lack of junior officers if the Royal Terra Novan Navy is to remain relevant in the Brick Seas. For now, I shall be working up the crew myself. They have already proven their skill in gunnery and seamanship, but it will take time getting them to work effectively together as a machine of war, and I can only hope a new commanding officer will not put them out of order. Signed Captain Jonathan Cooke The HMS Beagle is a 10 gun brig-of-war built for the Royal Nova Terran Navy. She carries eight 4 pounders, four on each side, and two 6 pounder chase guns at the bow. As a general purpose warship she isn't the fastest, or nimblest thing in the Brick Seas, but served by a brisk crew, she will be a valuable resource for any colonial governor. She will be licensed as a class 3 warship. C&C is, as always, welcome.
  11. Somewhere, west from the continent... - What is happening up here? - shouted Conrad, while he climbed up from below. He saw Fiko Cogfizz, sorrounded by his men, with drawn weapons. - Boss, he got a torch, he want's to set the ship on fire! At this point Conrad regret, to accepted this task. He remembered the day, when he first met with Cogfizz, and also remembered what promise he give to himself... It was the last days of summer. Conrad visited every harbour on the coasts of Deep Garden. There, he found Fiko Cogfizz, a gnome, talk and act strange. He got an unusual request. He talked about banishment, island and nothing more. He needed a ship, but every one refused to help him. Conrad felt pity for the gnome, he almost rejected his task, but Cogfizz mentioned a big payment, if he gets home. The sound of money, and a chance to expand his influence, to an unknown island changed Conrad's mind, and accepted the gnomes task. And, if there aren't anything, he simply throw the gnome overboard. It seems, he will fulfill his promise. - It's not a torch, it's a signal flare. - apologized the gnome. - This is a completly safe device, so others can now our location! - Can I ask who? - asked Conrad, while he stepped forward. - There is nothing here! No island, no ship, not even a chunk of rock, where we can leave you! Tell me a good reason Cogfizz, why souldn't I fed you with the sharks? The gnome stood there motionles. And without a word, he twisted the end of the flare. A green flame almost blinded Conrad and his men, the gnome kept the flare high as he could. For a brief moment, Conrad regained his sight. He saw the gnome, between dancing colorful spheres. He focused, and grabbed the flare, twistd out from the little hand and throw it overboard. - Why did you do that? - screamed next to him Cogfizz. - I just hope now, my colleagues saw the signal... This was the last drop, befor the gnome could finish his sentence, Conrad grab him, and lifted. The spheres still danced in front of his eyes. - Don't worry, you will follow your flare, down to the bottom, tell my what's going on! Enough secrecy. Fiko Cogfizz got completely paralyzed, Conrad considered his action, as a no, so hi started lifting him, for a throw. - Boss! - shouted the sentry. - Something is approaching. The gnome fell down on the deck. Conrad quicky looked around, the spheres almost faded. - Which side? - rubed his eyes, tried to remove the last spheres. - From above. Conrad looked up. He saw something coming down from a cloud. As the object came closer, Conrad recognized it, is boat, with a balloon. - Ready your self boys. - Ordered his men. Then looked down to Cogfizz. - We will deal you later. A small airboat landed next to the ship. A gnome pilot leaned over, and asked: - Who used the signal? - he looked around, and stopped at Cogfizz. - I suspect, it was you. I am Skyknight Silverbrass, do I know you? - Salutation knight Silverbrass, I am Fiko Cogfizz, - stepped forward. - I have returned from banishment. - I see, then let me be the first, who welcome you home, hop on, and we are off to go. - Hold on a second! - Conrad interrupted the talk. - No one flys anywhere, befor I get my payment. - Is that true Cogfizz? Cogfizz looked back at Conrad, then sighed. - Yes, I own them, for the help and patience. The leader of these great warriors will come with us, can i ask you, if I paid him, to return him, to his ship? - The council will not be pleased, for bringin an outsider to our city. But if you want to continue your banishment... Conrad and Cogfizz boarded the airboat, then, they take off slowly. The leader of the mercenaries looked down both in terrified and amazed, as his ship shrinked. Moments later, they were in the clouds. - First time flying? - laughed Silverbrass. - Dont worry, it is almost over, look! - pointed foward. From the couds, a floating island emerged. Conrad was speechless. - Welcome, on the Isel of Steam, in the city of Coghallow!

  13. HMS Naval Cutter "Barracuda" of the Corrington Navy Imperial Cutter (IC) The HMS "Barracuda was built at the start of the Juniper War in 607 AE. It was crafted completely out of wood from the Juniper Province as a sign of Corrington's ownership on the land. In the terrible conflict that ensued this little ship was to be a most notable annoyance to the enemies of Corrington. It's small size and fast speed allowed the Corrington Marines to perform several blitz attacks on unsuspecting seaport towns and ships, especially when painted black for night missions. It only boasted a broadside of two 4 pounders, but what it lacked in firepower it made up for with speed. After the Juniper war it remained in service until being de-commissioned in 615 AE to make way for newer ships. It was sent to an auction in Arlinsport and was promptly bought by a local fisherman - for a fraction of it's value - to be used for fishing and hauling small amounts of cargo for extra cash. The owner was about to scrap it after he no longer needed it, but a young adventurer named Lieutenant Nathaniel Brickford saw it in the harbor and offered twice what the scrapyard was willing to pay for it. He had heard many stories about this little ship from his father and grandfather (both veterans of the Juniper war), and he hoped he could restore this forgotten icon to its former glory. (OOC) I hope you enjoyed this ship's backstory! This is my first of many ship MOCs. I decided to make a small lightly armed class 2 naval cutter. Limited only by size (per the rules and wanting to take full advantage of my free license!), I think I have made a nice starting vessel for my journey on the Brick Seas. I don't really have too much to say regarding it. It mostly speaks for itself because everything about it is visible, so here are just some additional pictures of it. Enjoy! Questions, comments, and constructive criticism are always welcome!
  14. With only one ship larger than class 6 active in the Eslandolan Navy, shipbuilders throughout the islands have been put to work. In Weelond, the new class 7 flagship of the Sea of Storms fleet is finally ready to sail. Her name, Espada de Luna (“Sword of Luna”), and figurehead pay tribute to her duty as a warship and to the deity favored by mariners in the Church of the Two Coins. On the fo’c’sle, a lieutenant oversees crewmen tending to the mainstay. At the waist of the ship, another lieutenant oversees crewmen securing one of the cannons. On the quarterdeck, Captain de Flynt discusses matters with Lieutenant Jacobs. A member of the rigging crew up in the top mast pauses for a moment to take in a view of the deck below. The large stern gallery is topped by artwork of a raised sword against a crescent moon. And so Espada de Luna is ready to take her place in Eslandola’s fleet. --- This has been sitting on my shelf for a couple of months, and I finally finished up the rigging and sails. As always, all C&C welcome.
  15. Little was known about the strange, quiet, mysterious fellow who had dropped in to the Port Wilks inn one day - but that little could be summarized in this: He always wore black, used a black sword, sailed a black ship, and wore his black hat at a bit of a tilt. To be sure, there was a little dark brown thrown in here and there, but that didn't always make it in to all the rumors and whispers about the fellow. (A shot of the ship's bow:) All that was know about his own and his vessel's past or future was that the ship was of Terraversan make, was christened the Midnight's Mist, and was impressively armed, and that he had dropped some hints of picking up a crew in Garvey's Freeport and of heading over to take part in the Corry expedition into the inland of Celestia after that. That he is a daring and well-armed pirate-hunter and explorer is accordingly the most popular rumor afloat in Port Wilks at the moment. To be short, all in all, he was quite the enigmatic stranger, and was as likely as not to keep the whispers and rumors going for quite some time - in fact, he really seemed to rather enjoy them... A small ship which got built quite unpremeditatedly, haha! I was busy working on a different scene of a sinking ship (also for BoBS, and I hope to actually build that one soon! ), and then got to liking the ship and tweaking it repeatedly until I got to liking it enough that I didn't feel like sinking it at all and it didn't really resemble the other one much anymore either, so here's the result - the Midnight's Mist: As usual, I couldn't resist the urge to get a little interior in there somewhere! A few other shots: Broadside: Stern: Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome as always!
  16. These shipyards never take a break. Over the past couple of weeks, we've been busy working on a new frigate to reply to the constant pressure applied by Mardier. Unlike most of the previous ships built here, we've decided to paint this ship in untypical colours - this ship will be the first of many in my very own fleet of warships. For the time being, it'll very likely start it's career by hunting down Marderians, but I'm hoping that eventually there will be no need for that anymore and it can return to escorting other ships. The dark hull should hopefully allow us to remain hidden if there is a need for it. Even the mizzen is equipped with a topgallant mast and sail, which should allow this ship to catch up to any ship weaker than her, and escape those who are any stronger. _____________________ For the time being, this one will be licensed as a class 5HA for myself, but I'm hoping on upgrading it to a 5th rate (I'm guessing that would mean class 7?), as it carries 36 guns (with 5th rates being 32+ guns). If anyone doesn't believe me - 22 guns on the gundeck, 2 bowchasers, 2 sternchasers, 2 guns on the forecastle, 8 guns on the Quarterdeck (you might check here, the most rear guns have been moved further back and rotated). Thanks to @Capt Wolf, @Elostirion and @gedren_y for suggesting names ;) It also has a small brother, the Tribute, a 4A.

Check out when the next BoBS lay-out is planned here! - Foreword First of all, enjoy this index, BUT DO NOT USE IT TO BUMP TOPICS where the last comment was posted 1 month ago!!! Making indexes is very time consuming, so please do not panic if your ship can't be found in this index! You may always send me a PM when it appears your ship is not in the list, but has been posted for longer than 1 week. A ship is always made by someone. But as ships can have different owners over the time due the MCRA system, there is also the "Owner EB name" where the current owner is stated. The ship can have a different status since last time you checked the INDEX. Some examples: (the status can be found next to "licenced/unlicenced" Active: this ship roams the Seven Brickseas Inactive: it has been a while since someone saw it (meaning mostly the owner became inactive) Destroyed: destroyed in a MCRA action without a renewed licence Sistership "original name": the original ship has been destroyed and a sister ship is made. For Sale: the owner wants to sell the ship, you should pm the owner if interested. [*]All ships that appear somewhere in BoBs can be found in this list. Also the ships made by someone belonging to another faction for a certain faction. These ships are ofcourse unlicenced and they may be for sale (see status). In the Faction Index, they will appear under "Unlicenced Vessels" and are added to the "Royal Fleet". [*]The Official Lego Sets are also included in this index as they are for some people a source of inspiration. This is my version of the "Capstan Hammer" of the Flying Dutchman (cf. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gp73EZdObM) if you want to see the mechanism in action visit https://imgur.com/a/g2uad because I cannot upload more than 0,1 MB :/ The most challenging part was to construct the inner part in such a way that it rotates along with it, but can also be lifted and falls down abruptly. In addition, the mechanism should be kept so small that it can be installed in a normally dimensioned ship. Although the rotary movement of the hammer during lifting is not exactly the same speed as that of the capstan, I am still quite satisfied with the result.

  21. A month ago, a terrible storm passed over the Prio Seas, bringing many adventurers off their intended course. But off course, they couldn't be the only ones affected. A Galleon from Carno has missed Poorvintia by a long shot, and has, after losing most of her rigging in the storm, arrived in Fuerte Unido, or well, on one of the many quais spread around the cliffs of the bay. The deep water here allows even the biggest ships to get very close the coastline. Having just heard of the arrival of a vessel a size rarely seen around Fuerte Unido, Gouverneur Monezterrell and Farrucio Paraja headed out to the site to check what was going on. The crew of the vessel, decimated by trying to save more of the rigging, were already celebrating the arrival on land - they seemed like they wanted nothing more than getting off the vessel and never ever step on one again. Once the vessel had landed, Monezterrell and Paraja quickly started talking to the Captian, who identified himself as Arii Kandoné. Captain Kandoné shared the thought of his crew and only wanted to get rid of the vessel - probably not only because he was sick of sailing, but also because he didn't want to be the one responsible for repairing the rigging. Noting the freshly painted hull, a compromise was quickly found... More pics of the landscape and ship: Some quick background: I wasn't sure whether or not I wanted to add full rigging to this ship, I discussed with Bregir hoping to find a compromise where I save myself from the time, numbness and materials of adding rigging to a ship while still being able to license it. I hope this unlicenseable build (56x96, though half of that is water/ship) together with the hull should be enough to license the Triunfo while not rigging it up completely. As it originally started out as a 5 midsection prefab (though the lower part of those isn't there any longer), I'll license it as a class 7 as it seems comparable to the Margot in size, maybe a bit taller on the stern.
  22. Location: Zone 35 Type: Class 2 The newest addition to the WTC's fleet was the WTC Dog Days. WTC Dog Days by North White, on Flickr Designed for hauling cargo medium range, she was just another addition to the Brick Seas WTC Dog Days by North White, on Flickr Yup, nothing to see here folks. Just another free class 2 ship. FIN C&C appreciated, but I'm not expecting much today. Also I need to raise my ship levels again...
  23. One of my favourite recent Star Wars ship designs has to be the Carrion Spike which appeared in some of the Marvel comics: unlike a lot of the rusty ships bits of junk that are iconic to star wars, the ship has a very streamlined narrow spear like shape. Since I was such a fan of this design, I decided to build a model using the Carrion Spike as inspiration for SHIPtember. As I'm sure most of you've realised SHIPtember has come and gone and it's been almost half a year since the deadline so why the holdup? I'd love to say that I'd been slaving away improving the model but in truth I just never got around to posting it. So here it (finally) is, the Nomad's Spear. The Nomad's Spear was a ship in service to the New Republic shortly after The Battle Of Endor, one of a line of ships which were designed based on stolen Imperial blueprints to create a cloaked and exceptionally lightweight and speedy corvette, which, thanks to it's highly powered engines, could quickly sneak through Imperial blockades undetected to deliver aid until these planets could be liberated. As a result of its stealth abilities and the peaceful nature of its normal missions, the ship lacked any sort of offensive firepower. Furthermore, a lack of particularly bulky shields meant the ship saw limited service outside of delivering supplies. Following the Battle of Jakku and the widespread collapse of any remaining Imperial holdouts, the mercy missions the corvettes were tasked with became increasingly infrequent and these rare few ships became increasingly uncommon. Most found themselves deconstructed or left in hangars but the Nomad's Spear was redrafted into supporting New Republic fleets. Technicians and mechanics removed armour from the already vulnerable cockpit area and the plating in front of the engines to get better access to the ship's systems. This allowed them to fine tune the craft and increase shield output, helping the ship survive many missions over its 10 year service to the New Republic before new models made the ship obsolete. Hope you enjoyed that little backstory I quickly came up with. Sadly since this these pictures have been sat on my computer for ages, I can't really get anymore images of this MOC but since I had to make the spine of the structure sturdy there wasn't really any interior to see.
  24. Location: Outside Mooreton Bay Type: Ship The brave crew of the WTC Riff Raft sailed and rowed towards the WTC Icarus Returning WTC Riff Raft by North White, on Flickr The Corrish Marines stationed aboard leered at them as they pulled alongside, but they were happy to get off the deathtrap that was the Icarus Returning WTC Riff Raft by North White, on Flickr The exchange was quick. The Marines hopped in a lifeboat and started frantically rowing away. The WTC crew got into position and heaved the anchor, and sailed the ship away WTC Riff Raft by North White, on Flickr And so, the Icarus Returning was free to sail again, and haul mining explosives across the Brick Seas. FIN This is the build for my little class 0 "Riff Raft" It could use a little work, I know, but I'm happy with it. It will be doing short trade runs across zone 24. Also, I'm a little confused as to where to have the Icarus Returning start this TMCRA, as it technically isn't allowed in Mooreton Bay. C&C appreciated

    Trading Ship

Hi, This is my second ever sailboat MOC. She is a simple little Topsail Schooner although she doesn't have her sails, rigging or a name yet. I will be posting more pictures when she is finished and until then I welcome any and all feedback. More photos on Flickr IMG_3901 by SheepBlubber, on Flickr
