  1. Long before the Iron Giant began hurtling towards Rockwell, there was a prototype model, which landed on Earth close to 64 years earlier than the Iron Giant's 1957 landing. They were very similar robots, made by an Ancient race of beings that wanted to gather as much information about the Universe as possible. They first created this prototype model which was made mostly of brass, copper, and iron, but was powered by a highly advanced Fusion reactor that was powered by metals the robot consumed, usually uninhabited asteroids floating through space. Unlike the Iron Giant, this prototype was not able to re-assemble itself as it had a error in it's programming. In the year 1893, the then un-named Brass Automaton landed in the Pacific Ocean near the long-forgotten Dino Island. It created a tsunami and unhinged the island from the Earth's crust and as such the land began to slowly sink. The robot was first sighted by nearby Australian military sailors, who upon seeing the giant being arise from the water, tried to describe the being the best way they could through their wireless telegraph: they named it the Brass Automaton. Johnny Thunder and his Adventurers crew would later go looking for this great metal being after saving as many dinosaurs as possible from the sinking primeval island in 1923, but never saw it, as it was hiding in South American coastline to gather information on the dominant beings of Earth, also known as Humans. After staying relatively hidden in various secluded ocean floor places around the globe for around thirty years, the Brass Automaton was finished reading the minds off people for information on humans as a species: Our past, our present as of 1924, our origin (as it was then known), and our many languages, along with defenses, politics, and technology. After gathering all that intelligence, the Brass Automaton headed to the North Pole along the sea floor to transmit the required information to it's home planet using a faster-than-light sub-dimensional beacon. (Basically, a fancy radio) That is just about when a major solar storm hit the Earth, with the radiation hitting the atmosphere of the Earth and scrambling the outgoing signal into nonsense. Now the garbled signal was received by the home base, and as a precaution, the Iron Giant version of the Brass Automaton was dispatched as fast as possible to earth. (That would take it nearly 35 years for it to get there at all possible speed, which would require it to refuel once arriving on Earth, which is why the Iron Giant was at the power plant at the beginning of the movie, whereupon it's memory was scrambled by the high-voltage electricity.) After sending the garbled message and being struck by a passing icebreaker-ship on his trip southwards, the Brass Automaton was temporarily incapacitated. It was then discovered washed ashore at the southern tip of Greenland by Dr. Harold Wormwood and brought back in pieces to his stately laboratory / mansion in Legorado, Colorado, where he ran test after test on the alien visitor. By 1926, the mad scientist-type Doctor Wormwood had the resembled robot nearly reassembled, and was preparing to restart it when a Lord Sam Sinister came upon rumors of the robot and wanted it for his own nefarious desires, with Johnny Thunder close on his heels... This steampunk version of the Brass Automaton a recolored and modified version of Build Better Bricks' Iron Giant with the head of my previous @hachiroku version of the model (seen above) of the same robot's head added on... I consider it a mashup of the two models. I made it into steampunk colors (black, brown and dark gray) with an exhaust steam pipe at the back of the neck, and yes, that is a monocle / targeting computer over the right eye for use with the gun arm (it was included in the Build Better Bricks instructions) that I'm still considering trying to use. You also may have noticed, the model is incomplete in places - some things just don't lineup properly in LDD like they do in real life. When fully assembled IRL, it should look much better though. Here is the Brass Automaton's laser gun... probably not going to build this, but I MIGHT place it on a tank or something. This is what I've found so far for this model.... 100 parts down, about 650 left to go. Comments Questions, Complaints are welcome!
  2. Been working on a MOC, Robby the Robot from "Forbidden Planet" (1956) and a host of other movies and TV shows. This design inspired the Lost In Space robot that it's often mistaken for, but Robby is much cooler. All purist other than some cut stickers. I want to get one of the adult Belville blondie dolls after lockdown to better recreate the poster pose, rather than using the child one I had available. A bit fragile in places, but I'll think how to sturdy it up over the next little while no doubt. Heart Melter Mk 2

After building version one of this mech a couple of months ago, I realized that I needed stronger joints. It would hold a pose, but just felt to fiddly and prone to flopping over at the hips. This new version feels much sturdier, and I've made instructions for it and shared them on Rebrickable. See more on flickr
  4. I have for a while wondered about using robotic components to automate/control the Lego Rough Terrain Crane ... this has now happened using the Mindstorms Robot Inventor hub with 5 medium stepper motors and a distance sensor ....while keeping the original power functions large motor to avoid further destruction of the original model. One motor switches turntable rotation, another switches the drive from turntable to jib while a third switches power to the original motor. Two further motors switch the six way gear selector for hook and jib. the distance sensor is used to limit turntable rotation to accommodate the relatively short cable lengths. The resulting construction works well.... the crane can both remote controlled and programmed. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/82vqyjvd2zledp0/AAA736uPmlzo9hL-sIWdGS8la?dl=0
  5. This is my first creation with the Robot Inventor set, 51515-1 , created in stud.io using LDraw parts as custom parts. I hope you like it and it inspires you to build. The PDF building instructions and part list are available at Rebrickable for free. I haven't build it myself because I do not own the set, but greg10 did and posted a photo. In LEGO Studio the motor cables are not available so; I recommend to use the 49283 Wire Clip with Axle Hole (also available in the set) to manage them so that they will not end up in the wheels.

    [MOC] TMNT Kraangdroids

Hello, everybody! TMNT Lego sets were great, but unfortunately the license was canceled. Kraangdroids were a good army builder, a robot that accommodates the kraang creature, a despicable brain alien. So, I built a kraangdroid in two sizes. A small one, almost the size of a minifigure, and a large one, a mech, which encapsulates the kraang creature of the 79100 set. Here they are: The tiny kraandroid next to the turtles. The head is from the Ultron's minions: As well as the big mech. Mr Freeze armor from 70901 was used as a starting point for the design: A closer look, of the head, with a deadly/goofy smile, and some Frankestein vibes: You can see more MOCs at my Rebrickable page: https://rebrickable.com/users/PRbrickbuilder/mocs/ Thank you all, I hope you enjoy!
  7. The Infantry Robot Multipurpose Mule, IRMM Mk. 2, is an innovative military robot, developed by Narvi Dynamics for Plighia's army, which is controllable, adaptable and can be driven by artificial intelligence. This model is a war evolution of a model developed for civilian uses, mainly used for rescue and exploration (tasks it retains). The IRMM Mk. 2 is a very robust model, solid, strong, adaptable to any terrain, versatile and intelligent. It also has a 360° environmental perception thanks to its numerous sensors, a dynamic balance thanks to numerous gyroscopes and accelerometers, and high mobility. Highly customizable, this model can be loaded up to 50 kg in weight, or mount a robot turret, or even missile pod, to fulfill a wide range of missions. Inspired by Spot dog robot and the new Mindstorms robot.
  8. Hello every body. Few weeks ago I was about to go to bed at 2 AM when i noticed some parts left unattended on my desk. I started playing with it and 1 hour later I came up with what turned into one of the funniest and coolest little thing I ever made. :-) I like it very much, so I decide to share it with you. Let me introduce... Hector ! This is the first version of him, built only with some spare parts I had. This is why he misses a hand on this very early picture. When Lego announced their new small ball-joint system, I was very excited and ordered a handful of them off Bricklink, without knowing what to do whit it, just thinking it had some great potential. Hector is the realization of this potential. A small, yet very posable figure with a sturdy build and very lifelike proportions and articulations. I tried to give him an aristocratic and peaceful look, like some kind of tiny butler ^^ (even though he think of him a as some kind of prince). As I mentioned before, what I like the most whith Hector is his amazing posing potential ! His soles are wide enough to balance him on one feet and all the joints stay in place when posed : You may have noticed that hector seems a little different on the last picture, that's because he went trough some improvement since the V1 ! One of the biggest flaw of the prototype was the ability for the knees to bend inward. I solved the issue by adding ''kneecaps". I also made him a lighter face and made his arms and feet more sleek. I ended up liking Hector so much that I made him a friend, Pole ! But I will tell you about him later....
  9. Hello everybody! I'd like to share you guys my Lego Ideas project, Servbot from Mega Man Legends https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bc40088e-611b-41dd-9231-d6a3bf3c574c This project has in total 2859 pieces with multiple features and add ons included like Customizable facepiece, Arms with customizable parts, Mega Man Helmet, Arm Cannon and a Tron Bonne Minifigure! The Servbots, (also known as Kobun in Japan), are small support robots that were created by a 14 year old air pirate named Tron Bonne to support herself in order to perform her tasks and missions. They were portrayed as neutral characters in their first debut in "Mega man Legends" back in 1997 and had their own spin-off game "The Misadventures of Tron Bonne" in 1999 with Tron Bonne as the main playable character. Not only that but they also made numerous crossovers, cameos and appearances in games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 & 3, Namco x Capcom, Dead Rising, Project X Zone and many more I personally enjoyed the building and learning experience of this project, it was a lot of fun especially learning more information about these characters as not only the Servbot's design is inspired by Lego Minifigures, but the developers of Mega Man Legends used Lego bricks to make dungeons ideas for their levels! So knowing that the developers of Mega Man Legends used Lego to inspire them, and how much I adore Tron and the Servbots, I thought it would be fun to make a Lego Ideas set out of it. I hope you guys enjoy it! Please share and support my Lego Ideas project! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/bc40088e-611b-41dd-9231-d6a3bf3c574c

    Abomirex the Mechanical Terror

So, here's a MOC that's actually a few years old that I'd neglected to post because I wasn't super satisfied with the photos nor the build itself, but after stumbling across it again browsing through folders I think it has at least some merit, so I now present to you... The Abomirex (or A-rex if you prefer)! A mechanical monster created by one of the most diabolical minds in all the known world as a weapon of terror and conquest. Sporting massive razor-sharp claws, built-in weaponry, and tremendous mechanical strength, only the most skilled and nimble of heroes can hope to stop it. Initially conceptualized as far more overtly birdlike, with wings utilizing the clear orange sail pieces from that one Ninjago set, but I couldn't come up with a decent enough design and thus went in a more saurian direction because dinosaurs are neat. It can't see through walls, however, which could provide our hero with the upper hand. (also sort of inspired by the movie "9" and by extension the short film it was based on) Snout splits open to reveal a flamethrower. Hope your shield spell is up to snuff, or you'll be snuffed out. Get it? Fire jokes. One of its least immediately obvious weapons is its bladed claw tail, catching its opponents by surprise! But if caught, perhaps a lucky swing could bring our hero close enough to a weak point... The conspicuous power source on its back totally wasn't that weak point, why do you ask? At ease, or perhaps scanning the horizon. In profile. Torso construction detail. Full disclosure, I don't remember it being particularly sturdy, and in addition to looking somewhat jumbled overall, it's part of why I'd neglected to share it earlier. But the aesthetic still sort of works for a steampunk/dieselpunk/frankenstein mad sciencey sort of look. (also tangent time: I hate steampunk and think it's super overplayed, or at least the variation of it that everyone falls back on. what part of "british aristocracy in fancy dress with gears glued to it" is "punk", exactly?) Obligatory gag scene. Full gallery here!
  14. Navy Cannon Transformer Mech. This is a multiple transformer which can transform into multiple forms (Cannon combat car, human type robot, antitank gun and so on).
  15. LEGO Fighter jet transformer mech - similar with vf 1 valkyrie It looks like the Zeta gundam also. :)
  16. This is a recreation of the robot character GLaDOS from the game 'Portal', using Technic and Mindstorms. Just to answer a question some of you may have: Why Mindstorms? Why not PF? Well for a start, I don't own that many PF motors (only got 2 medium motors and 1 XL motor), and secondly, I don't own any PF IR receivers or remotes. The mindstorms kit has its own IR sensor and remote, so I used that. Functions: 1. Head elevation controlled by EV3 large motor 2. Head rotation controlled by EV3 medium motor 3. Body elevation controlled by EV3 large motor 4. Body rotation controlled by EV3 medium motor These may not be very many functions, but they allow for most of GLaDOS's movement seen in the actual game. The range of movement is quite reasonable. Regarding aesthetics, I don't own a lot of LEGO pieces, so the model may look a bit incomplete or strange in some places. But I think I did an OK job with what I had to work with, especially the head. Some more images: Video: More info about the robot can be found here: https://www.us.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/community/robot?projectid=d1208d08-db8f-421c-9aa7-5f618912d7b0
  17. Mini size Combiner Transformer Robot. I think if I try to build full version combiner mech (6 vehichles), it would be too big one and need to many bricks. So I built this combiner made with just 3 heavy vehicles.

  21. This is the second Lego Big Dog. The object on this one is to achieve maximum running speed and stability with 4 legs. I would like to work up to a 4 leg model that can change gates from running to jumping and is steerable. The next step is steering without falling over on four legs.
  22. I tried to build a combiner robot which doesn't include 1x1 handles (26047), 1x1 clips (15712) and 1x1 brackets(36840, 36841) this time.
  23. It is a transformer robot which can turns into scorpion-shaped robot mode.
