    Modular Microsoft Store

Hello everyone This is my fifth modular building. Well, to be fair, it's more a modification than it is my own creation. My husband bought the instructions for the Apple Store a while ago and enjoyed building it a lot. But since we are not that much into Apple he asked me to replace the store by his favourite brand. I liked the original building but I always thought that it's not quite the right scale and doesn't really fit together with the other modular buildings. So I took the elements that I like (which are the colours, the facade of the ground floor and the layout of the smaller window) and created my own version. There's now a Microsoft store on the ground floor with real sliding doors. The interior is mainly based on the original one, only adjusted to the different corporate design. On the first and second floor there are apartments of a comic-strip artist and a musician. The highlight is the cocktail bar on the roof terrace which is considered an insider's tip among Bricktown. I hope you like. Any comments are welcome.

[MOC] Playground for my modular buildings

Hi everyone, I'd like to present you my latest MOC. The residents of my Lego city needed some green space and their kids some place to play. So, here it is: a big playground in the courtyard with a wooden pirate ship and a little sand pit. It's surrounded by the Microsoft Store, the modified Green Grocer, the Main Post Office and the Mom & Pop Store and Garage. I got the idea for the ship here and had a lot of fun building it, especially since it was a little bit out of my comfort zone. I hope you like it. C&C are welcome.

    Information Central [Modular MOC]

Information Central [Modular MOC] As part of the great Mayhead City redevelopment, the town's old, dated information centre was completely renovated to provide a better experience for tourists wishing to find out more about the local area. The new building both manages to maintain the iconic interior of the old information centre and project the centre's design into the future with a state-of-the-art viewing platform. Thanks for looking!
  4. Hi and welcome to all of you. I'd like to introduce myself here at the eurobricks forum. I'm quite new here and so i started building modulars wit LDD only a short time ago. Here is my first attempt of designing a modular supermarket. Only first steps are done, but I'll post more images step by step. I'd like you to comment on what you are seeing and maybe you have some good hints for a noob like me. The cash desk and the trash container in the backyard are the only two details I have finished yet.

    MOC - Modular Car

Hello everyone! Today I decided to give you a revolutionary idea in LEGO the automotive industry. This is a modular vehicle, its function in that it can from one base to make a few variations of body and lining. Look! Versions: Sedan Station Wagon Hatch Coupe The version number is limited only by your imagination. Limo, Pickup, Van, Hearse, caravan, Taxi, Police car, etc. Вe creative, I only will be glad! Here is a link to the .lxf file. Comments and criticism are welcome.
  6. Command Post Central, the police station of the Town Jr era, distinctive by its use of trans green windows, released in 1998, was my first ever Lego set. As such, the set set earns a special place in my Lego collection (which since joining here, I have realised is quite meagre). Anyway, as you may know, the Town Jr era was criticised for its use of simplified building techniques and large pieces, and sets released during this period get heavily mocked today. To combat this, I have created an LDD* model heavily inspired by Command Post Central's aesthetic, using the Creator Modular Building guidelines (in regards to sidewalks, connections, storey heights and access). I have designed it in a way that uses more common, hopefully cheaper, bricks (cue many posters saying x brick is now hugely expensive on Bricklink), that when I do eventually decide to build this, it will be fairly reasonable to. OK, there aren't any fancy building techniques, and does not have the cute storybook gingerbread details like the modulars, but I'm content with it. I guess it also could be converted to an office building. Apologies in advance for the awful pictures, LDD can be a nightmare to get decent camera angles in. 2942 pieces. This MOC is fairly modern in style, incorporating many modernistic elements (I think ... I'm a town planner not an architect!) utilising clean lines, floor to ceiling windows that rise up the entire building. The tower is four storeys high (each floor exactly 10 bricks tall). The top three floors are interchangeable, (and can even be ommitted if a one storey building is desired), as each floor has the same footprint, and staircase located in the same place. Ground Floor: Foyer For public enquiries, the foyer has a front desk and waiting area, and a notice board for community information. In addition, the ground floor also contains access and a car port for patrol cars. First Floor: Holding Cell Features a cell with sliding door to hold any suspects, complete with a utilitarian bed, also has a waitig area for the public, bailers and the yet to be locked up, as well as a vending machine and water cooler for the thirsty. Second Floor: Squad Room Using the latest in computing technology, the police can track down suspects from the (dis)comfort of their office chairs, this floor also includes the break room to fill up on coffee and steal yoghurts, and the Chief's office, with panoramic windows to observe all. Third Floor: Forensic Lab Where all the actual detective work is done according to modern television, here is where the lab rats find the killer who always uses a highly new and exclusive product, made by only one manufacturer and sold in only one store in the city, that happens to keep a record of its customers, which includes the only person they met since the murder occurred. The lab includes the central work table thing with a microscope, a fridge to store evidence, as well as the evidence locker which is protected from tampering. Comments, criticisms and opinions welcome. *Due to being a financially strapped student, any and all brick built models will have to wait until I graduate and commence a career. Though I do wonder how extortionately expensive the modulars of today will be by then.

    Cafe Corner piece alternatives

I recently completed parting out the Green Grocer and had a lot of fun with it. I had to make a few modifications due to the super high cost of some of the rare bricks and it looks like I'll have to do the same thing with Cafe Corner. One piece I'm particularly concerned about is Element #4222968, "White Ski with Hinge". 11 of these babies make the front arch thing. I've noticed that the Ski without hinge is significantly more common/cheaper and was wondering if anyone else who bricklinked/parted out cafe corner made this similar variation and has a picture of it. Can't decide which way to go but wish I had an idea before making the decision to fork over the $$$ or not.

    Bricks and Minifigs Modular

Hi everybody! Ever since I began working at Bricks and Minifigs, I wanted to attempt to build a modular building of it; and so, to celebrate my first anniversary of working at Bricks and Minifigs, I built this. This is my first modular that I’ve built, and it was a ton of fun to construct. Maybe I’ll make more in the future… The First Story: Unlike any brick (pun intended) and mortar store that sells LEGO® products, Bricks and Minifigs offers a variety of new and used LEGO® products, varying from individually sold minifigures, to retired sets that you will no longer find in any store. We also offer a large selection of “bulk bricks,” that is, a whole tray table full of miscellaneous LEGO® bricks that one can purchase according to container sizes. It’s basically Pick-A-Brick, but with an astronomically larger variety. There are also little stations of tray tables where you can build your own minifigure. In addition to this, Bricks and Minifigs offers birthday parties, Mindstorms Robotics camps, as well as stop motion film camps. There are currently 11 Bricks and Minifigs locations throughout the United States, but we are constantly growing, so there will hopefully be more locations sometime in the near future. Feel free to find a store near you at <a href= http://bricksandmini...inifigs.com</a> The Second Story: Obviously, the first story of this building is a Bricks and Minifigs but on the second story is Harold's Haberdashery. Harold's Haberdashery. The height of men's luxury fashion. The epitome and pinnacle of style and comfort. Here you can find all of the latest and greatest fashions available, tailored (yes pun intended) to your very needs and desires. It is a very exclusive store, and it isn't everyday that they'll let people in just to "look around." However, Harold's Haberdashery isn't all that strict, for today in the store one can see that the owner has just given a free suit away to the gentleman standing there. ;-) The Background of Bricks and Minifigs: Bricks and Minifigs not only offer a wide selection in LEGO® products, but there are also some really wonderful people that I get to work with. Adam: my boss and one of the best bosses the world will ever know. Preferring to canoe and be with nature in his free time, Adam’s favorite LEGO® theme is Star Wars; he is known to occasionally get into a debate with fellow employees and customers about the fall of the Galactic Republic. He greatly enjoys adding little trinkets and tidbits to our modular displays at work. Tracy: Adam’s wife and our minifigure specialist. Tracy loves to work with minifigures and always has super-creative ways to advertise for our store and is our biggest Facebook contributor/poster. She loves to assist customers with her cheerful attitude and was my mentor when I first began working at Bricks and Minifigs. Brock: Our Classic Space expert. Brock is the most knowledgeable person I know on anything and everything Classic Space, and everything having to do with LEGO® space themes for that matter. Appreciative of both the newer and older themes of LEGO®, I’ve learned quite a bit from his expertise. In his spare time, he enjoys working on his giant lunar-base MOC, which should be finished soon… Diane: Brock’s fiancée and our bookkeeper. Diane’s experience in scheduling and finances have truly helped us here at Bricks and Minifigs. While she is somewhat hesitant to learn everything about LEGO® all at once, she is a huge fan of Harry Potter and Harry Potter LEGO® products. John (me): Well what is there to say about me…? I am just a very lucky and blessed TFOL to be working with all these wonderful people. As you can see from my outfit, I obviously enjoy building ships and naval MOCs, though I am known to stretch out into many different genres as I often do. It's so incredible to be able to work with these awesome LEGO® fans. Noah: Our only other TFOL employee and perhaps the biggest fan of modern combat that I’ve ever seen. Noah is an overwhelmingly accomplished TFOL and is always ready to build something (mostly to do with modern combat of course). Noah and I greatly enjoy making puns about LEGO® and anything else we can think of to make each other groan with agony at the cheesiness of the puns we make. Tom: Our Mindstorms robotics and stop motion genius. Tom runs the camps that we offer and his knowledge as a teacher and expert in both fields of robotics and stop motion filming make him an asset to our team. In his spare time Tom enjoys working on bottle rockets with his son. When I first saw Bricks and Minifigs, it was really something of a God-send. Just getting back into LEGO®, it was great for me to see such a store. I never thought I’d be fortunate enough to work at this wonderful place and since then, it’s been a rollercoaster of only great and fun times. I’ve met some really remarkable people here; it’s such a blast. For the kindness, warmth, and generosity shown to me I am truly indebted; thank you, Bricks and Minifigs. More MOCs to come, that's for sure...

    [ MOC ] S Villa

I am thrilled to know that my entry to the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2015 LEGO Competition was shortlisted! This year, the topic is "Ideal Home (Interior Design)" (weird title with the confusing brackets, I know!), and since I like building houses, I thought I might give it a try this year. The show ended two days ago and while my submission did not get into the top three, I still got 4th in the judge scoring and I am already happy to be on the stage this year with the other awesome builders! My build is called "S Villa" (previously named Box iN during submission), which is my dream home in the brick city. The design is based on the concept of a garden. To me, home should be a place separated from the hustle and bustle of the city. Instead of being trapped inside another building, the occupants probably want to have their own personal outdoor space, meaning a garden. Therefore, the concept is a central garden with rooms arranged around it. Above is the program of the house, with different rooms arranged around the garden. Here is the final look of it, showing its front facade: The center garden is here, with some pebbles forming a loop path: The arrangement of rooms start from the living room, which is directly facing the garden. It is first place I enter when I arrive home, and I want this to be a relaxing place without TV to distract me. Further in is the kitchen and dining area, the latter which extends out to share the same garden view: The opposite side of dining room is the corridor leading to guest toilets and back door, where you can reach the garage. The staircase forms right above the main entrance, and I refuse to use a stacking type of staircase so that the staircase is like a room itself, creating a middle platform as a buffer to the upper private rooms. The black box, which is my studio, is located at the first stop of the staircase. Inside there are my desk and personal theater. Now this is the place I enjoy TV shows and movies. Going further up is the bedroom and lavatory. If you see closely, you will see I put the rooms that require quiet space, ie dining room and bedroom, away from the street, using the staircase circulation as the buffer separation to kill any noise from outside. The bedroom is a simple one, with an extended balcony next to it. My concept of monochrome design comes from the idea that a building can be simple and neutral-colored so that people focus on its form and shapes. All the colors then come from the inside, where people live, because life is colorful. Without us, there can be no color. We, are the colors. The space underneath the black box is recessed in as a garage. I also made a little extention behind it to put the tools for the garage. S Villa is the house for me and my wife, and the name contains the first letters of our names. Originally it was named "Box iN" during the submission since the idea is about the inner garden. With this design, I hope to inspire people that a house can be simple in geometry, and also functional in use. Hope you enjoy this building and its architectural concepts! More photos at:

    [MOC] Simpson's Style Mansion

Hello! I am back with a new townhouse/mansion MOC. It is inspired by the official LEGO Simpson's House set; however, I found that the set was too suburban to fit well with my urban city, so I decided to take the essence of the house and transform it into a modular building. IMG_9676 by Topper (TT for short), on Flickr Here is the front of the exterior, featuring some SNOT technique and a simple, green door. IMG_9693 by Topper (TT for short), on Flickr This is the first floor interior Thank you so much for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I just wanted to include the spirit of the Simpson's house into my city, as well as fulfill my girlish desires to have a dollhouse made out of Lego bricks. Thanks again, and if you would like you can see this creation in more detail on YouTube at: ... Or Flickr at: https://www.flickr.c...157656628227885

    MOC: Car Repair Shop

My town is definitely going down-hill. I've got Bars and Pubs and a Brewery and they're all a bit seedy and run-down. So when I decided to build something with a car-theme I knew it wasn't going to be an antiseptic showroom stuffed full of expensive cars. What my town needed was a Repair Shop where for a cheap price the unqualified mechanics will do their best to get you back on the road. It's based very loosely on a real building here in Missouri that burnt down in mysterious circumstances a couple of years ago. Who knows maybe with this MOC I've solved the mystery. There's a tumble-down old fence and a junk yard dog. The facade of the main building is crumbling and there's discolored brickwork all over the place. Inside there's a finger operated car lift, a red-swing door (courtesy of the Apple Tree House), and shelves full of cans and tools. If I had an expensive, Italian looking sports car I wouldn't be taking it here. The adjacent lot is full of spare parts scattered across the broken concrete, some wheel hubs, some fenders and a Snap-on tool box. But it does have an interior complete with Coffee Machine, Toilet and Sink - it's a bit grubby in there... The mechanics appear to be swapping out a perfectly good Blue door for a junky Yellow one - and I'm concerned about the number of spare parts they've got left.... Here's a shot from the side, but I think they should be paying more attention to the rear of the building... ...where someone has carelessly discarded a cigarette into a trash-can full of oily rags. This isn't going to end well! I hope you enjoyed it! Comments and criticisms and suggestions are most welcome.

    MOC: Modular Old Pharmacy

Hi, I would like to share my 1st Modular-MOC: The old pharmacy. It`s build with a wide range of parts of the last 50years. One of the oldest is the bush in the front, the newest one is the clear pin holder for the crow on the balustrade. The building has full interior. For the windows I focussed on the old 5x6 windows from the 70ies. The used stickers are replics of original LEGO-stickers (e.g. from set 232), only the two "Apotheke"-bricks are graved ones. You´ll find more pics with details and the complete interior of the building in my picture-folder. Thanks for watching! ThomaS
  13. Hi everyone! Since there's probably a law somewhere that everyone who has a monorail needs a house where it can pass through, I built one too, also featuring a fashion store: » Flickr album with more photos This house doesn't exactly look what I had in mind before I started building it, but it still turned out well, I think. :) Back side - a little simpler as usual: On the street, we see a guy who really needs new clothes: Inside the fashion store: Cheap shared apartments for students upstairs - can't demand a high rent with that monorail passing through. Used to be two separate apartments, but they were combined (you see the different woods of the floor). Saves one kitchen and one bathroom, gives another room for another student... Three rooms plus bathroom under the stairs on this floor: Third floor: One room (with double-decker couch) and an open kitchen under the spiral stairs. And the passthrough of course. The painter who has to paint over that graffiti (which says "Blocko sucks" - Blocko being the Lego parody in The Simpsons) has to squeeze himself against the wall when a train comes... And two more rooms under the roof. This sleeping student apparently had been at a long party last night: Integrated in my city - with lots of work still to do: This new house kinda dwarfs the Fishmaster next to it - maybe I'll add two more narrow houses between it and the modified Simpsons house. » Flickr album with more photos » Video of the monorail running Hope you like it...

    [MOC] GHOSTBUSTERS HEADQUARTERS

Hi to all EB users, I have the pleasure to present the first collaboration AITORUCO/MTRkustoms We are a spanish train builders and the better way to make a collaborative MOC is to design and build a Ghostbuster Headquarter . This Headquarter is completed with the Ecto-1 with custom leds of MTRkustoms and the 8w American cars of AITORUCO There is no need to talk about this building so lets see the pictures, so..... who you gonna call? 16. This is our mod of the Palace Cinema. Before the PC was released we had The Main Street Cinema but were so taken with the facade of the Palace that we decided to try and make our interior fit the new exterior. Our old theater wasn't a corner building so that took a little working out but in the end we only expanded the given Palace structure a few studs to make everything fit. We were very pleased with how well we were able to meld the two buildings. Hope you enjoy. You can see more of the theater here and here. Thanks.

    MOC - New Fire Headquarters

Hi all Time to rebuild the fire headquarters into a modular-ish style headquarters. Here the start of work: And the nearly finished exterior: The roof comes off and the floors come apart but at the moment there is no interior. I need to put in some interior walls, etc. The staircases and fireman's pole are there but that's it at the moment. The big opening at the bag will have hanger style folding doors when done. More soon... Cheers Rog

    MOC: Fish Farm

MOC: Fish Farm I was recently challenged to find a type of business that no-one had tried before. It's surprisingly difficult, but after scouring through Google and Flickr and a bunch of other sites I think I found one and I'd like present my Fish Farm! It's situated in a converted warehouse at the end of a branch line. And the Fish are raised in three ponds at the side. The Dog is clearly interested in what's going on inside the building. The produce is placed in the Refrigerated Train Car. One final shot. Thanks for reading! Comments, criticism and ridicule (and links to other Fish Farms much appreciated).

10184 Town Hall MOD - Public Library

Hello all, I recently purchased and built the Town Hall modular and realising my town now had two town halls, I set to work finding a new purpose for my old 10184 Town Hall. I decided to turn it in to a Public Library for the citizens to enjoy. So here it is: I try to stay close to the originals with my MODs, so this is no different, however it is 32 x 32 modular. The ground floor is where most of the books are, from crime to biographies to non-fiction, you'll find it here. The middle floor has study desks with lamps, as well as being the floor for the older books. The librarian calls this the 'serious' part of the library.... Shhhhh!! The top floor is the multimedia section, four computers and plenty of space for reading with several couches and an ugly rug. Two of the couches and the rug were donated to the library, it's easy to see why. Please check out my flickr photostream for more pics, esp of the interior. Hope you like it and comments and suggestions always welcome EDIT: Changed the first photo for the new window design.

    [MOC] Modular Train Station

I've always wanted to add a train to my Lego modular street, and it seemed like the right place to start was a train station! It's been years since I've had my own Lego town, but the modular series has really got me excited and building all over again. Would you like to see this model sold as a genuine Lego set? Modular Hardware Store

The new DO set coming got me fired up to try and do another modular so I present my latest MOC. The drawers behind the counter do open and you can place small items in them. This is going to go on the left of the DO when I get it.....one day, the other side might be the PR.....not sure, cash is a problem sometimes. Keep watching !
  25. Hi all, I just wanted to start this topic to let everyone know about a project that has been on my mind for quite a while now and is slowly starting to come to fruition. While I love the Fire Brigade and it has served me well since I first bought it, it does suffer from a lack of space for modern fire engines. I bit the bullet ages ago and bought a second Fire Brigade to add another garage and for an assortment of spare parts but now I've outgrown the two garages. Since I'm moving house I figured it'd be a good time to start from scratch so I've chosen the City of Sydney Fire Station as my reference building and here's my progress. While there's still a lot of work to go, I have a solid plan for what the ground floor layout of the building will be, and will try and get the facade as close to the real building as possible, although I have left out a large section of the original building to try and save a bit of space. The masonry side will be access to the upper floors, a room for the firesuits, the mandatory fire pole, as well as two bays for fire engines. The newer section on the right will house three fire engines side by side as well as some smaller support and logistics vehicles behind. My fire engines have been getting updates for the new facilities as well, with a permanent fleet of two pumpers, one rescue pumper, one heavy rescue, one aerial and one small vehicle planned to take residence in the station. The Scania chassis will make up the brunt of the stations responses, with two vehicles as pumpers and one as a rescue pumper. The basic truck features seating for four firefighters, with three of them being able to wear breathing apparatus in the cab on the way to calls. These three trucks will be almost identical on the outside but will have different loads in in the back to suit their allocation. The Isuzu is fitted out with pneumatic tools for responding to structural or vehicle accidents where a minifig may need to be cut out. Since this is a rescue unit, the two firefighters don't have a need for breathing apparatus or full firesuits so the cab is a little bit less crowded than the other trucks. The Duty Commanders vehicle is for providing quick responses to calls for the supervisor and is built on my standard SUV base. It has room for one minifig driver with a full breathing apparatus set and a small assortment of tools in the boot. A new aerial apparatus is still on the drawing boards, which will be more accurate compared to the previous incarnations. The biggest hassle is trying to get a functional and realistic boom and outrigger system into a City scaled vehicle. Comments, criticism and questions are welcome, and keep an eye out for updates.
