Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

These guys are sold out everywhere near me (Toys R Us, Target, My Lego Stores) and it's listed as "Sold Out" on shop.lego.com. Surely they're not gone for good already, right? I'm nervous.

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion

Stupid question. Where exactly can we expect to find this release / video FIRST? Does lego have a site where they actually publish this stuff that all the blog sites pull from? Basically, what website can I begin spam-refreshing? LOL
  3. I can't for the life of me find in the instruction manual where this sticker is supposed to go. Anyone want to help scavenge it for me and see if they have better luck? It's a small black sticker with what appears to be lights...

    Bricklinking Modular Buildings

Finally completed Bricklinking Market Street, the last of the 3 Modular Buildings I missed out on during my "dark ages" period, lol. Unlike CC, this one I made some rather significant modifications to. I really just couldn't bring myself to fork out 40+ on those white hose pieces that make the patio railing. I'm actually happy with the modification and interested in the feedback. Used Masonry Bricks in place to the Ridged ones, which was kind of a no brainer after seeing how well it turned out for the GG. MyLegoWall-11-3-15 by MyMarketStreet by

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

It's hard to say just how much I'm actually "saving" by bricklinking the first 3 modulars I missed out on (CC,GG, and MS) before the obsession hit. Mainly because I'd rather not calculate it, it would be depressing. But I've had lots of *fun* building the sets a little at a time. Even if you still end up shelling out 300ish and have to make a few modifications for some of the more insanely rare pieces ($30 door piece!? I think not!) it's not in one big chunk so it feels less painful financially. Kinda like financing it...haha.

    Bricklinking Modular Buildings

Not sure if anyone has already done this, but when BL'ing my Green Grocer (the 1st of the initial 3) I sub'ed the 1x2 Sand Green Groove with the (much cheaper) 1x2 Brick Pattern. I'm pretty happy with how it looks. I've really been enjoying this thread. I had to chuckle at the user who said "never again" during the exaustive process of BL'ing the green grocer and then immediately started working on CC.

    Cafe Corner piece alternatives

Wow! You are so right regarding the whole... I totally missed that initially. You're right... I think I'm just going to have to bite the bullet. Thanks for the tip regarding the other thread...I found that shortly after creating this one and found it very interesting.

    Cafe Corner piece alternatives

Hey spanky, Thanks for that, but apparently it's listing as "Avaiable" on lego.com is an error. I made a couple of orders and it kind of broke their system, lol. Finally got someone to confirm on the phone that that piece is in fact discountinued as I suspected based on the high market value. The woman was very friendly but "inquired with her parts people" and told me about "the new item number" for that item which really was just the item # for the ski without hinge.

    Cafe Corner piece alternatives

I recently completed parting out the Green Grocer and had a lot of fun with it. I had to make a few modifications due to the super high cost of some of the rare bricks and it looks like I'll have to do the same thing with Cafe Corner. One piece I'm particularly concerned about is Element #4222968, "White Ski with Hinge". 11 of these babies make the front arch thing. I've noticed that the Ski without hinge is significantly more common/cheaper and was wondering if anyone else who bricklinked/parted out cafe corner made this similar variation and has a picture of it. Can't decide which way to go but wish I had an idea before making the decision to fork over the $$$ or not.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

That first "Tim" outfit you linked to above is the one I grew up with in the 90s. Might explain why I'm partial to the 2006 Batcave Robin minfig over all others.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

Yeah, I'd love to see a pic of that. I was considering the same... at least as far as combining the two new Arkham sets. It irked me that I couldn't fit all the villains in the jails! Unfortunately that has become way more expensive since that set has been retired.

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

I was taking a quick look at the 2014 prelim DC sets. Basically no change between them and the final images.. so wouldn't get your hopes up that what we'll see on the 14th will be much better than what the image is suggesting. :-/ And yes, I entertained no delusions the Wayne Manor set would ever see Production... but still dissapointed. Wall-E and Dr. Who? *yawn*

DC Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussions

As far as big DC sets go, I'm a bit partial to the original BatCave from 2006, love the 2012 Arkham Asylum... so am really excited about the JokerLand news. I'm also a big Robin fan, but like him a little more colorful than current incarnations. *More* red? Seriously? How much more "red" can it get? I'm also not too dissapointed about the "usual suspects" regarding the villan list and Tim Burton batman-era is my favorite so hearing about that Batmobile was exciting. Catwoman would have been nice, though. Wish the Joker was new... already have about 5-6 of those.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Is it too late to chime in on the Town Hall retirement rumors? I have found nothing here in the US to suggest it's coming back... basically the evidence over here just confirms it's likely retirement. Usually shop.lego.com only lists something as "Sold Out" if it's gone for good. I know this isn't always the case, but it's certainly a trend. All the retail Lego Stores (3) in the Atlanta, GA area are out of them. Target, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us online... nothing. They're priced at ~$300 on Amazon and eBay (50% mark up of MSRP) which I understand is the weakest evidence but still...
