  1. A small build I made for the 4th challenge of Brethren of the Brick Seas, which involves a Treasure Fleet from Eslandola. I`m registring this as a small Residence for the town of Quinnsville as well afterwards, even though it won`t be expanded on anymore with more plates, the large build will be torn down after Brick Mania Antwerp to make room for Middle Earth though. Sir Smaugton loved strolling through the residential area of his steadily growing town. The calm atmosphere of the civil area, as people went on with their everyday lives, gave him peace of mind and a sense of achievement. Suddenly though, a courier came rushing to hime. "Sir Smaugton, Sir Smaugton, an urgent message!" "Thanks" he said as he opened the letter... he read the lines, and felt his mood somber. "Oh for the love of the Queen" he muttered "it seems news has been leaked of the course of an Eslandolan treasure fleet." He felt a knot in his stomach tighten. He knew that if he gotten word, those of less noble intentions would have learned about it as well. But he also knew there was nothing he could do about it at all. With the current whereabouts of the Junkyard fleet still unknown, his small warships where not available. Nor did they bring back the cargo and riches he would need to aquire the license for the Wailing Whaif that lay for anchor in the bay. The HMS Pendragon was en route to Quinnsville, and only days out, but she would need to be repaired and restocked after a long voyage, so she was not an option either. The only thing he could do was hope that the neighbour's of King's Harbour also had received word and might be able to do something to help out... only time would tell. Hope you like it!
  2. Yesterday we had our Clubday event at BeLUG, and some of our notorious sailors of the Birck Seas did a workshop ship building there... see them at work HERE
  3. Yes, and once again a mighty fleet set sail for a bounty run right in front of Cocovia (the zome the island is in) Bounty Run - Junkyard Fleet of Quinnsville Flotilla 1 – HMS Isandlwana (Tomsche), Disguised Skiff (Tomsche), Pierre Volante (Tomsche), Escorts: HMS Terrigan (1A), The Sea Sparrow (1A) Flotilla 2 - TigerLily (Tomsche), Crepe Fruite (Tomsche) Escorts: The Cod Hunter (2A)
  4. 28th of june, Junkyard Fleet Same for Green Dragon, who joined the corrington convoys as usual
  5. Okay, I admit this MOC wasn`t planned nor foreseen at all. Consider it an accident that I actually build this... Well, there is of course a story to that, and it goes something like this (enter Run DMC music). I was actually building a part of a cave entrance for a Tolkien MOC I`m building, and in the meantime it was Monthy Python and the Holy Grail on my television. When they came to the cave sequence (Run awaaay!) I saw that the thing I was putting together so far resembled the entrance of the scene a bit. I went into my box of Friends animals, and grabbed one the cute little rabbits, added some grisly pieces to it and the poor half eaten knight and voila... the famous killerbunny stood on my desk. Now, the actual cavern is the first layer of a hill in progress, but for now I'm going to leave it like this and take it along to FACTS next month, before removing the skeletal pieces and the rabbit in order to build it up further to what it is supposed to become ;-) But for now, prepare the Holy Handgrenade of Antioch!
  6. Pretty bummed by this, as that means all nine of my ships including a whole convoy suddenly went AWOL. I still figure it's a tech booboo though, I can't imagine what I did different from the previous 6 months of submitting. Oh well, seems I'll have to send out the fighting ships on piratey cruises then next month, in order to compensate for this month's no gains (I refuse to call it losses, no results are no sunk ships HA)

    The Treaty of Tortillas

Hmm, not very nice of MAESTRO Eslandola to keep their Corrington branch out of future endeavours it seems.
  9. Hilarious! I love the little houses on the pier, excellent work
  10. Well, there are things you just *have* to build if it's in your area of intrest, and this moc mosaic is just one of those things. As a humongous fan of the works of Tolkien, I just couldn't resist trying my hand at the iconic "logo" of J. R. R. Tolkien's work, the stylised letters that adorn the sides of all his books. It's build on a 32x32 plate, and can now serve as the lovely background for whatever moc, vignette or display I'm taking along to conventions, and the fact those mosaics are dead easy to transport and set up is a great bonus. Hope you like it!
  11. "Quinnsville ahoy!!!" the lookout yelled down from his position high in the front mast. "Excellent" admiral Thornmorckton commented. "This was a smooth journey, double rations of rum to the crew!" As cheers erupted, Thornmorckton couldn`t stop pondering about the orders he had received. He was to take the HMS Pendragon, a 6th rate ship of the line, to the small colony of Quinnsville, though he had to admit that the local mayor, Smaugton, was seemingly doing a fantastic job as it was growing steadily in size, more and more colonists flocking to the Banner of the White Bra. But it was the intention of command to put the big ship there, and to bolster the fleet that has been building up there, and existed mainly as a defence force of former privateer ships. He was to take command of that little fleet of driftwood, and organise the defences of the harbour. But why? There was a naval base nearby, though from the information he had received it seemed that the commander there even considered just visiting it's older neighbour beneath his stature. Yet, the island seemingly thrived on the export of coffee- and cacaobeans, and while those are exotic goods, he couldn`t imagine what was brewing that a ship of the line needed to be positioned there. No, something definitly was brewing, and he hoped the major would fill him in further, as he was apparently not on a need to know basis from high command... She's ready at last, my 6th Rate frigate, complete with the historical accurate gun number of 24 (6th rates carried 24 - 32 guns). Took my quite a while to build her, but I`m might glad with the result. For now, she will be moored in Quinnsville for the BoBS game, as the class 6 and above aren`t available yet for licensing, and save up the gold to do so when they are. Hope you like her, for Queen and Corrington!

  15. Finally I build a "habitat" module for our BeLUG club project "LEGO: Mijn Hobby" (my hobby). And it actually took quite some brainstorming before settling on "what" I wanted to represent in it... Now, the full technical details on what they have to be like can be found here on the BeLUG's blog Club Projects page, but the general idea is that you make something what you love about the Lego hobby, being it making mosaics, trading, collecting, just playing... whatever your imagination fancies. So I kept churning ideas in my head, and then I finally got it. I came out of my Dark Ages due to Lego having a Lord of the Rings line, so I thought nothing better then depicting the very first scene of the epic work, where Frodo sits by a creek and reading a book. Yeah yeah, I know in the movies there is the whole prelude with the battle, but the "adventure" begins at this particular moment. I wanted to create some forced perspective in it with the sun at the top, the blue sky meeting the gentle sloping hills of The Shire, and the creek that flows away into the horizon. To that end, I also downscaled the tree (it had to fit within the box's dimensions). I must say, I'm actually really cool with how it all turned out, it was fun to do and now I`m on par with the Club Projects builds... for now ;-)

    [MOC] A Long-Expected Party

Nah, I wanted it to look really "bordered" with a contrasting colour, especially as some other habitat will be standing partly above it.

    J.R.R. Tolkien Signature mosaic

That map is great! My "wildest dream" is that once all my set displays have been finished, to actually make a huge map where they all fit in. But that's a project for the coming decennium or so, the kid first has to move out of the house so I can claim his room for that
  18. Saw that indeed on the YouTube coverage of Virginia, looked awesome!
  19. That`s pretty awesome Also, where are shield and armour for the Men of Gondor from?

    Love those rotating wheels!
  21. Okay, so in hindsight, perhaps "Chima in Space" would have been a better name... The latest vignette I build is based on Star Trek Online, and it`s recent Agents of Yesterday time travel expansion. Here, you can make a TOS era crew and pilot a ship, and end up in the 25th century of the main storyline, encountering the Hirogen for example. Which was what inspired my little build. I loved the Hirogen in Voyager, and envisioned them hunting one of those time displaced vessels, boarding them to get to their prey. The scene is made to represent a small corridor section aboard a TOS era starship, where a security agent is keeping a fight with one of the hunters. Hope you like it!

  23. Hmm, odd The Junkyard fleet as whole was entered as a convoy as well as seperate per ship as needed somewhere between the 26th and 28th IIRC, while Green Dragon should be entered by myself individually and in the convoy list of who ever did the Corrington convoys back then (I think it was Bregir who at the moment handles that)
