  2. Other Work: CDC2 CMF: socalbricks [Freebuild] Cobold's Crusaders (REVAMP) I'm back! After last year's fun CDC2 CMF, I was inspired to make more characters for the guilds. Enjoy! Geovana Guild: Mitgardia A sorceress who was adopted at a young age by amethyst-worshipping monks. Taught to harness the stones' power, she is now the last of her order. Despite this, she has vowed to defend the amethysts from pesky dwarven miners until her last breath. Boab Guild: Kaliphlin A blind naga assassin who can “see” through heightened senses of hearing and smell. His strongest ability is his sense of touch, using his hands, tail, and the hollow end of his spear to track nearby movements. A being of few words, he is steadfastly loyal to the Desert King (his mentor and first employer). Maridia Guild: Valyrio A mermaid who has made a small fortune selling the treasure she found at the bottom of Valyrio's harbors. Having learned water sorcery from her fellow merfolk, Maridia travels all throughout Valyrio's coastal cities, resting on a floating pool of water. She is currently making a sizable amount of money salvaging sunken treasure from Valyrian harbors and selling it in Canal Square. She has heard many tales of far-off lands from her customers; she plans on seeing all of them once she has enough money! Sko-Khan Guild: Nocturnus A soldier who was stranded in a massive pit during the war against Raavage, Sko-Khan spent weeks fighting off (and eating) giant scorpions (it was during this time that he ripped off a scorpion's claw and uses it as a weapon). After climbing out of the ravine himself, he became a muscle-for-hire for various Nocturnan warlords. He still carries the claw to this day, and has adorned his armor with matching scorpion imagery as a sign of respect for his old foes. Dombard the Doom-Bard Guild: Nocturnus Most bards lift the spirits with stories of bravery and heroism. Not Dombard - for reasons still unknown, he aspires to make his listeners as angry and miserable as possible. His lute (forged from and doubling as an axe) is unpleasant to the ears, and his voice is described as sounding like “nails on a chalkboard” and “a vulture being strangled” It is said that the latter is so grating that it can send members of races with “sensitive hearing” (such as elves and centaurs) into catatonic shock. Garrus Guild: Nocturnus Garrus saw his home of Abyssian turn to ice at the hands of Raavage’s forces. Though he survived the attack, his forearms did not, and he had them replaced with primitive prosthetics. Filled with rage, he decided to track down those responsible for the attack, adding massive swords to his prosthetics. Leaving a trail of bodies, he soon heard word that Raavage had already been killed (thus depriving him of his revenge). With no home, family, or outlet for his rage, the hulking reptilian became a brutal bounty hunter. Though he has mellowed with time, his infamous reputation remains unchanged (as does his enthusiasm for violence).
  3. As a HUGE lifelong fan of the Muppets, the upcoming CMF line will -- assuming the rumors are true -- be the first one I collect in its entirety! Coincidentally, I've just learned to use Studio 2.0 from BrickLink and thought I'd share a few pending creations. My first design is a "Muppet arches" frame for all 12 figures. I don't have the space nor the disposable income to afford a large-scale stage set, as some other designers are doing -- impressive as some of them are! This design is centered on the arches alone, with a base and top detailing meant to be more evocative of the Muppet Theater than a literal depiction of it. (Because it's so narrow with lots of single-stud connection points, I'm wondering how stable it will be in real life; I plan to see about reinforcing those stacked round bricks with interior rods, and I have a backup plan to extend the sides in the back with some black scaffolding if it seems prone to topple.) My second design is Rowlf's piano. Because my Girlfriend is particularly fond of Rowlf, I plan to snag a second figure to add to a vignette that she can keep at her own piano. Rowlf plays a few pianos on the show; my design is based on the upright model, because it was simplest in terms of design and most efficient in terms of space. I'd have preferred a slightly different shade of brown -- perhaps dark brown, to better contrast with Rowlf himself -- but reddish brown was the only color that had all the parts I needed. Anyway ... I'm particularly pleased with how the book is integrated into the piano to hold up the sheet music. (And I may swap out the hair on the Beethoven bust, as pictured. We'll see how it looks IRL!) Feeback welcome! And here's a link to the IO files, if anyone wants them. P.S. If the leaks are correct, I'm not happy with the choice of outfits for Gonzo. I'd have much preferred his classic maroon tux! I'm thinking I may swap in the dark red Harry Potter goblin torso from set 4714, along with matching legs and perhaps a black bow tie piece (though even if it covers the tiny one, it may not fit the overlarge head). It's not a perfect match for the original show, but it comes closer than any other part I could identify. (As an alternative, President Business's argyle sweater vest is a reasonable approximation of Gonzo's outfit circa The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets Take Manhattan, though it would be more accurate if it were gray rather than sand green.)

My entry for CDC2 Category 1: Populating Historica Kaliphlin Kaliphlin merchant Trade is the lifeblood of Kaliphlin, and the merchants are the true masters of the southern realm. Khel'Zarim battlemage Warden of the eternal flames burning in castle Zar, high up in the Rakath mountains. What she doesn’t know about fire is probably not worth knowing. Barqan astrologer The city of Barqa is a center of glass making in Historica, and subsequently its stargazers have access to some of the best telescopes in the known world. Many celestial objects have been discovered and named by these scholars, and even more has been written about the supposed influence on the events of Historica by these heavenly denizens. Petraean swordsman A soldier loyal to the Kaliphlin High Council. As important as the trade itself are the guardians of the trade routes. Avalonia Elven ranger Only seen when they want to be noticed, the elven rangers are keeping intruders and the more sinister beings of the forests in check. Satyr axeman The satyrs are usually a jovial and peaceful folk, who prefer a good evening of dance to the tune of flutes and drums under ancient trees in the forests of Avalonia to adventure or violence. However, don’t underestimate them when they, however reluctantly, have applied war paint on their faces... Antyrian guardsman A true Avalonian warrior. Fierce in combat, loves to hug his town’s hallowed trees and probably wears tights under his chainmail. Mitgardia Husfrue This lady is the wife of a minor Mitgardian jarl, and a former shieldmaiden. While her husband might be in charge of the jarldom, she is definitely the one in charge of the household. The keys to the longhouse are hers, and whenever the men are off to war the thralls of the estate know better than to be lazy… Minotaur geologist The mountains of Mitgardia are hiding many veins of valuable minerals, but only the most hardy geologists can endure to search for them. Be sure however that whenever a rich vein is discovered, dwarven miners are swift to start digging there...if they haven’t already done so from below. Algus warrior Far north of any lands habitable to warm-blooded beings, these frigid creatures thrive. From time to time packs of Algus venture south, causing havoc to the lands of Historica. Last time however, they were thwarted by the searing flames produced by burning black oil from Kaliphlin. Nocturnus Herbalist Many exotic plants thrive in the Moruth Swamplands, and some even dare to harvest them. When harvesting the seeds of some of the more rare carnivorous plants, the herbalist does best to imitate being a plant himself to not be the one harvested for nutrition. Werewolf bounty hunter You would not want to be on this lycanthrope’s hit list... Cyclops matriarch The cyclops tribes of Nocturnus often have strong female leaders. The matriarch is skilled in making various concoctions, to heal friends or poison foes, as well as herself pick up a weapon to fight neighboring tribes or intruding Avalonian adventurers. Varlyrio Illyrian lawyer This counselor knows all the paragraphs, precedent and loopholes of Varlyrian law and can for a suitable sum of gold twist it to any outcome for his client. Adventurer The ancient caves of the island of Varlyrio hide many secrets and riches, and many young noblemen set out to discover these. Rego palace guard Guarding one of the palaces of the Rego is probably the most honorable duty a Varlyrian soldier can have. A peculiar property of Varlyrian armor is that it is usually thicker on its back side. (Thanks @Ecclesiastes for extending the deadline, although it took me until the last day to put an entry together anyway )
  14. Here is my entry for Category 1 of the 2nd count down challenge - Populating Historica. Let me introduce you to some prominent scholars and spellcasters of Historica. And some scammers too... Spoiler sections contain photos of the back of each minifig (without cape for those who wear one). There are external links to Wikipedia where I took inspiration from the real world... Well, don’t judge that girl by her shy smile and sweet nature: she knows her sh*t. - Hatto the Half-Elf, innkeeper and philosopher Kaliphlin : Prof. Tahani Noor Aurea, PhD, of the University of Petraea She’s, like, totally psycho! She turned me into a frog just because I damaged a book! - Miri, failing student Kaliphlin : Saanvi, Gemmologist Diamonds are a girl’s best friends. And so are emeralds, opals, aquamarines, and all varieties of corundum. 15. CMF Guilds of Historica - It’s all about power! The power! Strength, charisma, courage, intelligence or even sometimes cunning and betrayal are all weapons allowing access to power ... and this is true for all kings, queens, leaders and dictators on the borders of this world. Others obtain a unique power, either from birth, or through hard work and rigors: Magical powers, invocations, hypnosis ... a real asset to reign. Avalonia : The Green dragon’s Clan Avalonia - « King » Dagorn : self-proclaimed king of the dragon clan The sound of horses charging in battle is known as "the flight of the dragon ». Dagorn, always loyal to his steed, set out to find and train dragons to destabilize enemy armies on the ground. The "flight of the dragon" is to be taken at face value from now on. Avalonia - Alienora « the Dragon Queen » Alienora is an expert in martial arts and potions. She uses many poisonous plants and the venom of certain reptiles to coat her weapon. Avalonia : Elves from the enchanted forest Avalonia - Aranrùth : King of the deer clan Elves are known to be peaceful but ready to do battle when they feel threatened. It is the same for deer, Rather harmless in normal times, it is often fatal for a predator who will attack it. Aranrùth decided to bond with this animal in order to go on the offensive. Avalonia - Fíriel : Queen of the deer clan Fíriel has the distinction of having a drow ancestor. If that lineage was rather hidden by her parents and her grandparents, on the contrary, Firíel proudly claims this blood tie explains certain traits of her character. Avalonia - Aldaron : Protective mage of the sacred tree Aldaron is one of the few elves to have discovered him in the middle of the Enchanted Forest. That day, however windless, a branch fell at his feet. Since that time, he uses the power provided by it to protect this forest and its peaceful inhabitants. Varlyrio : Nomadic orcs of the wasteland and their beasts Varlyrio - Durzum : the nomadic orcs chieftain Durzum is an expert in combat but his power comes mainly from his business acumen. The caravan of nomadic orcs travels from city to city to exchange textiles, spices, works of art and even weapons. In negotiation, snickers of his tame hyena often give him an edge. Varlyrio - Urzul the war princess Urzul appreciates the blood and dust of desert battlefields as much as the perfumes and jewelry she wears at receptions in Valyrian residences with grandiose architecture. Varlyrio - Wudugog the black Magus Who says orcs are cruelty and barbarism? Wudugog, following an accident from an early age did not have the physical capacities of his fellows. He immersed himself in books and not just any book : He excels today in black magic ... you know: cruelty and barbarism! Kaliphlin : The deserts orcs and their reptilians mounts Kaliphlin - Shraknus : the Warrior King Shraknus is the leader of the desert orcs clan, riding the most dangerous creature this world has known: the velociraptor. It will be necessary to redouble vigilance to avoid his saber and the claws of his mount. Kaliphlin - Ujalzia : the desert Queen Perched on her mount and using a spear as her weapon, she is also able to throw it like a javelin at her enemies. Ujalzia is not one of those queens who remains sheltered during combat ... on the contrary, she is regularly found in the heart of the fray. Kaliphlin - Aknashk : the reptilian archmage It took all the power of Aknashk to bring back to life the dinosaurs that serve as the mounts of the desert orcs. his specter has a strong hypnothic power which allows him to control them totally. Mitgardia : The dwarves of the bear clan Mitgardia - Doradraic Beasthand : Leader of the bear tribe Doradraic is full of courage and incredible strength. He will have needed both to be able to face and domesticate a bear ... His charisma and this bear which accompanies him in combat are enough to make him the leader of an emerging tribe: the bear tribe. Mitgardia - Thesilynn Wyvernmace : The crown princess Thessilynn is the adopted daughter of King Doradraic. She losts both parents in battle: Kimic Wyvernmace, the best blacksmith the clan has known and Gabelynn Beasthand, the king's younger sister. Nocturnus : Skeleton armies from the Eastern Moruth Swamplands Nocturnus - Shralazar : the necromancer Shralazar is on the last line during the fighting ... not out of cowardice but because of his ability to transform the freshly deceased bodies of their enemies into a skeleton soldier who reinforces the ranks. Nocturnus - Shebetha : the summoner Shebetha is a queen with immense power. She is able in one night to bring back to life an entire army of living dead. After each fight, his invocations bring their victims back to the bottom of the swamps ... who will be their future allies. I really enjoyed creating these figures (and a few other that I didn't select this time!) But also seeing the inventiveness of the other participants! You have a few days left: I want to see more minifigs !
  16. Hired Hands of Historica Queens rule and warriors battle, but workers propel Historica forward. These are the hired hands of Historica. I created these minifigures for the Guilds of Historica 2nd count down challenge. There are members from all five guilds as well as Cedrica. Kaliphlin Jaffar the Monkey Trainer The aristocracy of Kaliphlin likes their monkeys trained, might as well collect extra profit while I’m at it Pouri the Attendant Fanning the king is exhausting Sesur-hat the Scribe Drawing one map is fun, a dozen copies is not Varlyrio Drad the Deck Hand After two months at sea, I long for the harsh Wastelands Sofia the Back Stabber If the poisoned apple doesn’t work, the direct approach will Elias the Net Maker Mending nets is better on my back than reeling them in full of fish Mitgardia Thodil the Ice Cutter I don’t know why humans don’t get their own ice, mining it is much easier than mining rock Aðalgeir the Furrier Harsh winters create the best business Gjertrud the Snow Shoveler I’d give half my wage for a sunny day Avalonia Ailmer the Lumberjack 𝅘𝅥𝅮 I’m a lumberjack and I’m ok… Fanes the Farrier My work is all the separates you from the ground Neddi the Gardener If you step on my flowers once, you won’t do it again Nocturnus Mudgul the Miner At least there is no ghastly sunlight down here Ruak the Bone Craftsman I’m the best in the over and underworld Koglodzar the Slave Driver I can’t believe I get paid to do this! Cedrica Esther the Chambermaid You wouldn’t believe what the Queen did last night!

    CDC2 CMF: Henjin Quilones

The Guilds of Historica 10th Anniversary Collectible Minifigures By Henjin_Quilones Avalonia: Benjamin Stenlund Chronicler, poet, and philosopher from the Royal Guild of Letters in Albion "No, I don't do autobiography." Quickroot Butterfly-loving Grent of the Enchanted Forest "I am Grent?" Ayriel Greenbough Centaur princess, who sings to the birds while she frolics in the meadows "You want turtledoves? I've got twenty! But who cares, no big deal, I want more!" Thom Mayne Weather-beaten North Coast lobster fisherman and sea captain "Catching lahbsters is a pinch, Ah mean, a cinch!" Kaliphlin: Kyrival Ithi Humble innkeeper from Mophet, serving traders along the Oil Road some of the best distilled spirits "You want another round, Sweetcheeks?" Jairus Hippokles Cosmopolitan centaur hairstylist and barber from Petraea "You'll be the mane attraction after I'm done with you!" Kan Tork Nomadic desert shaman from the Siccus Badlands "The smoke from my green fire's the thickest, I'm the best shaman in the whole dry Siccus..." Mitgardia: Logh MacThror Champion caber tosser and ax thrower "Ach, just a wee dram more o' this aqua vitae, thank you very much!" Dworthi Forkbeard Stunning dwarven beauty, once named Miss Mitgardia while representing Omurtag, and now a skilled miner "What are you looking at, Babyface?" Nocturnus: Pickface Purple hobgoblin from the magical crystal mines deep beneath the Rakath Mountains "You know what would be a really kick-megablocks name? Pickface!" Bautor de Sange Noble vampire warrior from the city of Shadowmere and fifth cousin, twice removed, of Lord Vladivus "I promise not to bite..." Laeon of Katton-on-the-Marsh Lionell who makes a living collecting mushrooms with his pet pig, Baekkyn, in the Moruth Swamplands "I'm pretty sure the red one is edible, and the tan one poisonous. Baekkyn, what do you think?" Varlyrio: Hai Sairuk Centaur archer and warrior from the western Wastelands "Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys!" Moussi di Tacci Bravo and thrill seeker from Illaryian, known to do most of his thinking with the tip of his sword "Stick her with the pointy end, er, I mean, stick them, ahem, haha..." Noim Venqi Gnome inventor and chemist, famous for having both of his eyebrows despite his advanced age "Eurekaaaaouch!" ___________________________________________ I love collectible minifigures. I love minifigures in general. So of course this challenge is always one of my favorites. I went a bit centaur-heavy on this one, probably should have swapped one of them out for an elf, but oh well. Yes, I know there is still time. But my kids separated some of the figs and now the heads are lost somewhere in the massive pile of unsorted ABS on my building tables, so it's just too daunting to consider. Better luck to me next time, I guess.
  18. socalbricks

    CDC2 CMF: socalbricks

Here is my entry for CDC2 Category 1: Populating Historica. Enjoy! Cedrica and Valyrio from left to right: Queen Ylspeth: The Queen of Historica in her “ceremonial armor”, which she wears at certain military functions/ceremonies. Though she rules securely from Cedrica, she worries that she might one day need to use it... Marilla Danza: a tiefling and former slave who freed herself after leading a revolt. She and her crew of freedom fighters have been disrupting the underground slave trade between Valyrio and Kaliphlin, raiding slave ships and freeing their captives. Gerard Renwick Sinclare III: Second son (and the only bachelor) within a powerful family of Valyrian aristocrats. He is the only one in his family without any heroic tales to tell. Having lived an uneventful life, he seeks adventure in an effort to prove himself. Mitgardia Ivar Lonswain: an “eccentric” sea captain who ferries “unscrupulous people” between Mitgardia, Avalonia, and Valyrio. His pet lobster, Claudette, is blood thirsty and capable of surviving out of water indefinitely. She has a body count large enough to fill a multi-volume book. Ivar is the only one who can pet her without being dismembered. The Ivory Priestess: a mysterious priestess who collects bones. Her methods of acquiring these bones vary from rummaging around in the waste piles of butcher shops to brazen grave robbery. Her intentions for said bones are currently unknown. Zapato: a Minotaur butcher of few words. How a member of a usually herbivorous race became an expert on meat is anyone’s guess. People ask him if it "ever feels weird for him to be serving beef" - they receive a death glare in response. Avalonia Gertrude "Gerti" Eilinger: a prominent cultural anthropologist from the University of Albion. She travels all around Historica with her team of researchers. Having just finished a thesis on Cyclops cultures of the southwest Mitgardian lowlands, she has now set her sights on a group of “camel centaurs” (cameltaurs?) that some allege to exist in the Siccus Badlands. This has elicited controversy among her fellow academics, who claim that her theories are “absolutely preposterous”. This has done little to deter the enthusiastic anthropologist, though. Brielle Valken: adopted older sister of Ayra Valken, and captain of the Knights of Duranya. Described as a “natural born leader” who leads from the front, she has earned the respect of her fellow knights time and time again. The same cannot be said for her relationship with the bureaucracy. In a field where nepotism and “favors” leads to promotion, Brielle’s polite refusal to “brownnose” has left her without many allies in the upper brass, and without many means to progress her career. Though this sometimes frustrates her, she would ultimately rather be "on the ground" then cooped up in some office. Shriana: an elven sorceress who betrayed her kind before being banished to another plane of existence. Bargaining with dark powers, she has returned in a cursed, spectral state (neither alive nor dead) to exact revenge on her fellow elves. Kaliphlin Jalla Vaswani: a naga bounty hunter and assassin engaged in a fierce rivalry with Kars. A top earner among Kaliphlani mercenaries, she has become a minor celebrity in parts of Kaliphlin, flaunting her success with expensive silks and the best weaponry. Keeper Radina Roshti: the dedicated (if not slightly aloof) keeper of the Queenscross archives. Located deep beneath the sand, she oversees and guards thousands of years worth of knowledge. Ranging from "schematics of buildings that don't (officially) exist" to "forbidden spells", the texts would prove dangerous if they fell into the wrong hands. Armando Sabatheel: bar tender at the Tipsy Tree. Applying excessive amounts of pomade to his hair (down to his “trademark curl”), he can be smelled from meters away. He claims to be popular with the ladies (proof needed). Nocturnus Magda: a mysterious chemist with an entirely unknown past. There are no records of them or their work in any of the five guilds - their age, gender, race are all a mystery. Ulriq has deduced that, if those records ever did exist, they were likely wiped from existence by those in power. Magda is too experienced in their field to have not had a history. The only things that are unquestionable is their expertise in their field and their complete sociopathy. Recently, they have joined the Crimson Knives after being offered "career opportunities" by Ulriq. Bastio: an orc soldier who fashions himself as a “survivor”, allying himself with whoever he thinks is the most powerful. He has allied himself with Ulriq, but will betray him at the first sign of weakness. Unbeknownst to Bastio, Ulriq is well aware of this fact; he only tolerates Bastio because he “drives him to be better”. Ulriq: the mysterious and charismatic leader of the Crimson Knives. Hailing from an influential Nocturnan family, he was sent to Avalonia before Raavage considered the family a threat to his power. With his family subsequently purged, Ulriq was the lone survivor. A year later, he would join a Cedrican commando unit, fighting alongside Kars and Cobold. Parting ways after the war, Ulriq returned home to his native Nocturnus and claimed his family’s hidden wealth. With Raavage’s purported death creating a power vacuum, the whole kingdom is now in chaos, and Ulriq has sought to make a name for himself by any means necessary. Countess Irina Vachau: living in her isolated castle in northern Nocturnus, she has a prized collection of "vintage bloods" in her cellar. Visitors to her castle also have a nasty habit of disappearing. She insists that she definitely isn't a vampire, though. ___________________________________________________________________________________ When I heard that CDC2: Category 1 would involve a CMF, I knew that I just had to take part! Given my small workspace and limited parts collection, I've never been able to build larger MOC's - instead, I've focused almost entirely on minifigures these past few years. Something like a CMF challenge was one of the few Guilds of Historica challenges I could feasibly participate in. Some behind the scenes info on this series: I had a lot of fun working on this series and watching what the other contestants have/will come up with - I wish you all the best of luck!

Hard to pass up a Guilds CMF challenge Warrior Wraith– Nocturnus In life, a champion of the Black Spire. Now fights mostly out of habit, as he finds being undead rather boring. Has to do something to pass the time! Elderly Lady - Mitgardia Lady Tora moved to northern Kaliphlin after the death of her husband and sons in the Algus war. Of late, she often takes tea with Damir. Elderly Gentleman – Kaliphlin Damir is a kind old man, wealthy from his lifelong career in the spice trade. Never married, but a proposal to Lady Tora looks near at hand. Master Swordsman – Varlyrio He has lived through too many duels and battles to count but isn’t yet old enough to have lost his speed or strength. His reputation has led many of the noble families to seek his services as a mentor and bodyguard for young family members. Picks and chooses his clients carefully. Forest Ranger - Avalonia Avalonia’s forests are filled with skilled archers and woodsmen. Loren certainly fits that description and is an excellent tracker too. Frequently offers her services as a guide to foreigners who need to travel through the dense woods of Avalonia. Gnome Tinker - Kaliphlin “High quality pots and pans! Add some fresh sparkle to your kitchen!” Folmar is a traveling gnomish tinker. He specializes in metal cooking gear and if unable to sell you something new is also glad to mend your old cookware. Mushroom Forager - Nocturnus A very solitary individual. Little is known about him besides his passion for mushrooms. The swamps of Nocturnus offer many unusual varieties though what purpose he then employs their peculiar qualities towards is unknown… Veteran Knight – Avalonia His battered armor has seen action across the guilds. Doesn’t make friends lightly, though is fiercely loyal if you do earn his trust. Most of his original companions now lie in the grave. Dwelf Gardener - Alnya Dwelves tend to be good gardeners, but Alia is exceptionally talented. Despite her own expansive gardens, she cheerfully takes time to teach others her cultivation tricks. Most people don’t know of her pet chameleon, as Chervil is rather shy and tends to hide when others are nearby. Courier – Varlyrio A very dangerous career for youngsters on the streets in Varlyrio. Those with quick minds and daring personalities can make a comfortable living through their efforts. Failure, and even success, can well prove fatal for those not able to handle the layered intrigues of the island. Dwarven Spearman – Mitgardia Solid and steadfast. Dwarves brave enough to select a weapon besides the axe have more than enough skill to back up their decision against naysayers. Fairy – Avalonia The Enchanted Forest is home to many unique races. Those with no ill intentions have little to fear from these small folk, but they’re more than capable of defending themselves from outside threats. Confectioner – Varylrio Creator of scrumptious baked goods. Signe ‘s shop is always packed, and many take detours just to pass by and enjoy the fragrant scents drifting from her ovens into the street. Mercenary Commander – Kaliphlin Possessor of a sharp blade, and even sharper tongue. Rose through the ranks of the Phoenix mercenary organization to become one of their commanders. Chicken Farmer – Mitgardia The harsh weather of Mitgardia makes raising livestock an extra challenge. Annette takes excellent care of all her hens and makes a tidy profit on their large eggs. Goblin Fisherman - Nocturnus A cheerful individual despite the inherent dangers of fishing in Nocturnus – you never know what sort of creature you might catch! Always accompanied by his crab friend, Klar. The pair of them are experts at scampering to safety or quickly cutting the line when especially perilous prey is hooked. More photos can be found on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, feedback always appreciated

    CDC2 CMF: LittleJohn

Pumpkin Pie Master - Nocturnus Nocturnus is famous for it's pumpkin pies, but it takes a steady hand, nerves of steel, and a good dose of luck to survive as one of Nocturnus' fabled pie bakers. To become a true pie master you must develop your own variation of the deadly pastry. Because of this, the exact recipes are fiercely kept secrets... You will never know what is actually put into your pie. Stone Mason - Mitgardia Mountain giants aren't all fearsome brutes. Some turn their immense strength to more productive ends, like this skilled stone mason. Orym enjoys solitude and tends to work alone with only his dove as company. Author/Philosopher - Kaliphlin Irène is a renowned member of the University of Petraea, an expert in literature, and an extremely persuasive writer in her own right. Her works often spark heated debates, as she never shies away from controversial subjects. Elven Seamstress - Avalonia One of the finest seamstresses in Avalonia, Elalen pairs the finest quality materials with her expert craftsmanship. Anything made by her will not be cheap, but surely worth every copper! Minotaur Florist - Nocturnus Rutrus has a deep love for plants, and cultivates some truly magical (and enormous!) blossoms. He's an incredibly patient individual, so long as you don't trod among his flowers! Beast Slayer - Mitgardia Bondric Darkmaster first made a name for himself as a young dwarf by slaying a massive cave spider that he stumbled across while mining. Since then has made a profession out of slaying dangerous underground beasts and always takes payment in the form of precious metals and gem stones, which he has amassed quite a collection of. Orc Farmer - Kaliphlin "Those pesky camels have been eating my hay again! I wish those noble snobs would keep a tighter rein on their mammals!" Bakh is a hard working orc who owns a small homestead in northern Kaliphlin, and has a strong disdain for those who don't respect his animals and crops. Makes hay while the sun shines - which in Kaliphlin, is, well, very often. Alchemist - Avalonia Geffery can usually be found in one of two places - in his shop reading books and experimenting with new potions, salves, herbs, and remedies, or travelling to help those who are sick. The results of his work speak for themselves, and many come from great distances to seek his aid for loved ones suffering from serious illness. Extravagant Fop - Varlyrio "Spare no expense, I can afford it. Just look at these goats - the finest in the land." Incredibly rich, and well known for his lavish tastes. His parties are legendary, and getting an invite is quite a plus for your social standing. Cyclops Innkeeper - Mitgardia Has established a well respected tavern especially notable for its peaceful atmosphere. Arguments somehow never turn violent under his singular, steady gaze. Spice Merchant - Kaliphlin "Take a whiff of this - aren't the notes of lemon and the tanginess exquisite?" Transports the most exotic spices and fragrances from Kaliphlin to rich clients in other guilds. Now owns his own caravan and looks to expand his route in the years ahead. Fairy - Avalonia Azalea is an incredibly gifted musician who spends most of her time with the baby dragon Lindras. She discovered Lindras as little more than a hatchling, and has cared for her since. Local rumor has it that you can hear beautiful, otherworldly music when wandering through southern portions of the Enchanted Forest. Beast Master - Alnya Felisa spent much of her childhood in the forest, and now counts the woodland creatures as her closest friends. Others from her rural village often seek her advice if they're having trouble taming their livestock, or need help treating an injury. Artist - Varlyrio Having a portrait painted by Gerardo is something only the most affluent can afford. Though tales say that as a child it was his attempts to forge some valuable artwork that first caught the art world's notice - and the attention of the local magistrate. General Store Owner - Avalonia "Two bundles of carrots and a bag of flour? Coming right up!" Alenia accepts only the finest and freshest produce from her suppliers, which when coupled with her cheerful disposition makes her shop of one the most popular in town. Wizard - Nocturnus Poof "Did it work?! Why can't I see anything? Are you there Froggy?" Wizardry can be a dangerous task. Mess up and, well, I think you can see the consequences. To this day there still are rumors about what may have caused the strange and sudden disappearance of Rolyn the wizard.... A shot of the whole group: Really enjoyed putting this series together, and seeing what all of you are coming up with for this challenge as well. Some fantastic entries so far! C&C welcome as always, I would love to hear which ones are your favorites!
  21. Here are my latest MOC minifigures. They each use at least one part from the Disney+ CMFs or from the Vidiyo line. I don't know much about the Disney+ source material (I haven't seen the programmes yet - no spoilers please). Sylvie, though, looks like she has Japanese style armour so I turned her into Sylvie Samurai. Arguably, Captain Britain belongs more to the superhero genre than fantasy, though there is crossover between those domains especially in the comic book version of Capt Britain. Her sword is meant to be the Sword of Power, not the HP sword. The fairy isn't really modded - I just gave her an old style wand. Apologies for the inclusion of Zombenny. He's obviously sci-fi/horror. He wasn't meant to be in the picture: he photobombed me just as I was taking the shot. I hate space zombies!
  22. Kai NRG

    CDC2 CMF Kai NRG

Avalonia Fishmaid "Who wants feet? I'd give my hair for a pair of hands though, you bet." The Mystic Isles of Avalonia are home to many an unusual creature, including the fishmaids. They're said to tend beautiful sea gardens deep in labyrinths no human could survive in. Other people claim that they spend most of their time sunbathing. Forestman "Deer haunch or rabbit stew? Who am I kidding, I'm too soft-hearted to do anything but hug trees." The forestman is always dreaming of bringing down big game, but he's never yet been able to shoot at anything with eyes. Someday he plans on going to Nocturnus to hunt monsters or some violent creature he can feel good about killing. Farm Boy "From peep to pot, I love my chickens!" The farm boy is rustic and dirty, but he loves seeing the cycle of the seasons on the farm. He's tender as possible to the little critters, but it's true that he also likes to see them again, tender as possible, on his dinner table. Brownie "The stupid humans still think it's the rabbits who get into their gardens. Ha!hahhaha!" The wee brown men of Avalonia carry off loads of garden produce every year... but in return, they sneak into human houses and mysteriously do the chores. Kaliphlin Astrologist "Sir, I have to tell you that your destiny is a most unique one. Unparalleled heights await you if you continue on your journey. --That will be two hundred gold denars." The astrologist loves to stare at the stars and try to understand their orbits with complex mathematical formulas. But no one pays him for stargazing, so he's also learned how to give great noncommittal advice. Warrior "Do you call that a weapon? My grandmother's kitchen knives were sharper than that." Now that the Queen has come to power, the warrior is getting tired of life. He's got nothing to do but coach kids who've never known what it was to charge into battle under the blazing Kaliphlinian sun with fifty pounds of armor on and life on the line. Oh for the good old days of the Kali Civil War! Desert Mummy "Oooozzz, gooooo, blop!" The slimy desert mummy is the last thing you want to see on a trip into the Siccus Badlands. His bright green goop will dissolve you from the outside in! Mitgardia Dragon Trainer "Dragons are quite a handful... the more they bite off, the more they chew!" The dragon trainer loves his dragons, but foraging enough food for them in the tough Mitgardian tundra can be quite a chore. But wherever you go, his dragons are known for their tame obedience to their owners and their dreadful ferocity to their foes! Viking "If I find you snitching cookies one more time, kiddos, you'll find out that this spike isn't just for looks!" The viking is ready for anything, from a terrible toddler to a runaway chicken to a drow invasion. With her spiked nunchuck in hand, nothing scares her on the farm or off it. Algus Fighter "Seems like the more heads you chop off, the more heads they grow!" The Algus fighter lives for the joy of hearing his axe bite into crunchy ice. He'll never let his homeland be overrun by those monsters. And he'll also never let his moustache go untrimmed. Nocturnus Four Armed Monster "No... please don't run... I won't hurt you! Snap, there goes dinner. Again." The four armed monster either has a rough sense of humor or a tremendous appetite. Most people don't stick around long enough to find out! Pottery Merchant "Only the finest clays... what's that? Queen Ylspeth's advisor? Let me guess, you're not here for the pottery..." The pottery merchant uses her trade to cover a far more delicate business. She roams every corner of the guilds, gathering news and scandal from high and low and selling it whenever she can make a profit. Wannabe Magician "Oh boy.... I'm really looking forward to regretting this." The wannabe magician knows less about mushrooms than your average cook, but that doesn't stop him from seeing how they combine with other rare plants. So far, he's only burnt down his mother's hut twice and the chicken coop three times. Oh, and he poisoned the well, which killed all the sheep... Varlyrio Chef "Tis food, tis food, that makes the world go round." Even suspicious, backstabbing Varlyrians need the chef's services. Some of the most suspicious claim that he's sometimes looked the other way with that innocent face when servants dump suspicious ingredients into his sauces, but except for the one or two people who haven't survived his meals, everyone agrees that they're delicious! Courtier "If I could venture a remark, I would remind my lord that with his great wealth, he can well afford to be comfortable." The courtier is an expert at saying whatever you want to hear in the smoothest possible voice. In return, all he asks for is a comfortable meal, a comfortable chair, and a comfortable bed. Noble "Double-cross me, and you'll wish you'd nailed yourself into a coffin instead." Nothing scares the noble's enemies worse than his minefield of a smile. Whenever his hair is just right and his smirk is at its handsomest, you know that trouble is brewing. There we are, all 16. I don't know how Avalonia got an extra one, it just worked out that way. Here's a repetition of the group shot: This series is @soccerkid6 's fault... I had no intention of building minifigures until he mentioned that he was having fun with some (by the way, I hope there's a series coming there!). As you can see, I was too lazy to try to get all my minifigures to stand up at the same time, so I edited them into a group shot instead and had a lot of fun styling it like the official series. Some of these figs are still lying around, maybe they'll make their way into a build or two. C&C welcome, can't wait to hear which ones are your favorites!

This new challenge gave me an opportunity, to came up with two ideas, but after it was restricted, for only lego parts, I had to release the second idea, and go full with the first one. This time too, I want to show you, another dark part of Historica. The... Crime and Punishment Collectible Mini Figures. As I saw other entries earlier, It was mostly, about simple residents, trades, professions, and sometimes heroes. I want to show you what crimes can be committed in Historica, and how justice will be served! Every Guild has its own ways, to inflict pain, so, let's get started: ---------------------------------Avalonia-------------------------------- - Mask of Shame Punishment for various small crimes. Not every punishment requires blood to flow. Sometimes a little humiliating is good enough. It could be any, smaller disruption, like swearing, brawl, deception, etc. The person must wear a metal mask, with a little bell on the top of it. It will remind the nearby locals, who is coming, so they could greet with a nice word or some rotten food. The victim also has a sign, what was his or her crime. The time also differs, how long must they endure all of this. - Poachers Fate Punishment for poaching. The elves could be cruel too. Especially, when they caught you, poaching and desecrating their forest. First, they catch you. Then, they tie your hands back. And the fun part here starts. They put a bee or wasp hive on your head. Then they release you. They will laugh at you, but you wouldn't hear anything both from your screaming and from the buzzing insects. It could end up in different scenarios: You could blindly run in the forest till you die, from the stings, or smash into a tree, hoping the hive cracked, and not your skull. If you are unlucky, a big brown mammal will join in the pursuit, of the honey. - Witch Burning Execution method. Not everyone likes magic. The simple folks, sometimes couldn't handle it. They see magic as an evil tool, which must be eradicated. The villagers gather in big riots, dragging the suspect in front of the village elder. And he must consider, to save the girl and face the angry crowd, or just simply kill her, so the residents could calm down. Nothing extra, they gather up logs and sticks, tied the girl to a pole, and light the fire. In rare cases, they actually kill a witch, but in many cases, the trials are against girls, who are weird or someone who is envious of her, and this is the best way, to remove her. --------------------------------Kaliphlin-------------------------------- - Hot Situation Punishment for peculation. In Kaliphlin there is a lot of ways, to punish the wicked. For example, for peculation, the accused is dragged outside the desert, tied to a cactus, or buried to the neck. But they gave them hope. A flask of water is placed next to him. So, it will be ironic, die by dehydration, why the water was in arms reach. - Boiling Point Punishment for recidivism. Get punished for a crime, is one thing. But if you keep committing crimes, and you won't learn anything from the punishment, is an error, which needs to be solved. The kind leaders of Kaliphlin came up with this method. With a hammer and chisel, they carve a little hole in your skull. The next step is to boil some water, when it's ready, they simply pour it into your skull. You will never have a sinful thought. Or any other thoughts. - Artifact Compression Punishment, most commonly, for cheating. Magic using isn't a common sight in the art of torturing. It's mostly causing pain, but sometimes there are business gaps. The target audience is the cheated wifes and women, thirst for revenge! The man is lured into a trap, and the paid sorcerer casts the spell on them. Removing moisture from their body, and Turning them into small statues. They won't die, but they not lose consciousness. They remember these times, like a never-ending dream. Oh, and don't forget the thirst. If you want them, to turn back, just simply toss the little statue into water. They will suck it up, like a sponge. Soon a dried and wrinkled raisin-like figure appears. He won't cheat you again. --------------------------------Varlyrio-------------------------------- - Sleep With the Fishes Execution for piracy. Sometimes the executions don't need to be so fancy and expensive. Just grab a chain, some weight, and toss them out in the open sea. While sinking into the depths, with your last breath you can think about, "being a pirate is alright with me"... - The Last Laugh Interrogating method. This time you will have the last laugh. Everyone has their weakness, which the torturer will gladly exploit. They will take off your pants, and put you in the stocks. Then the torturer brings in various equipment, to tickle you. Most commonly, they use feathers, but it could be a plant with irritating touch, long animal fur... even they dip the victim's feet into salted water, and brought in a goat, to lick it. Tickles can be really harmful, if they do it, for long, like vomiting, incontinence, losing consciousness, or die. - Belt of Virtue Punishment for fornication. Not everyone is able to close their legs at the right time. Fortunately for them, this device will not let any intruder in and will remind you all the time during your punishment. It's important, to be clean it unless you want to wear a rusty iron belt around your private parts or stink like a sewer. Don't worry ladies of Historica, there are male compatible models too! --------------------------------Mitgardia-------------------------------- - Freeze to Death Execution method for desertion. No one likes deserters, this is a fact. And there are many ways, to punish them, for abandoning their duty. In Mitgardia, they knock them out, brought them into the northeast point of the country, and left them there. If they wake up, they could try to get back to the civilization, before they freeze to death. Not many could achieve this, and the many frozen statue in his region is a bad sign for them. But, if they still manage to return, they are branded for life. The frostbites on their body will remind them for the rest of their life, what they have done. - Breaking Wheel Execution method. One of the gruesomest ways, to end someone's life. With this public execution, the viewers will think twice, before committing any crime. The victim was tied to a large wheel, and with a large hammer, the executioner started breaking the limbs. One by one. Why the wheel? It says, it was invented by a lazy executioner, who was too lazy, to go around the victim, to break all their limbs. He simply just turned the wheel, to strike down. When all of the limbs were broken, they killed the criminal, and erected the wheel, with the broken body, as a warning to all criminals. - Punishment Shaves Dwarven humiliating method. This method is most commonly used on dwarfs, but there are cases, when it was used, on other races. Dwarves' prestige is measured in their beards. It's a shame if a dwarf must shave it off. And bigger shame, if someone shaves it, for them. So the dwarf has to start growing their beard back again and earn his respect and prestige back again. And to endure the humiliation of others. --------------------------------Nocturnus-------------------------------- - Rat Torture Interrogation method. The torturers are very keen-eyed persons. The best of them don't need expensive devices, just look around, grab a bucket, a torch, and a rat, like... the usual stuff in a dungeon. Put the animal in the bucket, then squeeze the bucket into the victim's stomach, and start heating it. The rat has only one way out, and if you won't start talking, you will be in the way, for the rat's freedom... - Slow Slicing Interrogation method. Every living creature can endure pain. And the torturer's job is to find out, what are their limits. This method is simple, you will need a really sharp knife. Steady hands aren't required. And you start slicing your victim, like a juicy ham, until they stop screaming in agony, and start telling the information, what you need. - Ravaage's Stool Interrogation method. Thanks to Lord Ravaage, many exotic torturing devices were used, during his reign. This four-legged stool, with a wooden pyramid on the top. They started lowering the nacked accused on the pointy edge of the pyramid, ensuring it, to cause pain... "Where the sun doesn't shine". The time for this torture differs, minutes, hours, days, some they hang weight on the accused's feet, to maximize the effectiveness. Torturer And there weren't be any torturing without the specialist. No one knows, what twisted thoughts are in their minds, and what history they had, to drive them in trade. Without pity or remorse, they do their jobs, inflict as much pain as they could, and make sure, the accused cough up the information that they needed. It's a thankless job, but somebody got to do it, or else they would find themself on the wrong end of their devices. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope everyone liked my Minifigs. C&C welcome, as always. And tell me down the comments, which one is your favorite? (So I would know how sick you are )

Here is my entry for the count down challenge "Populating Historica". This is my first thread on the forums and first proper contribution to Guilds of Historica. It was such a fun concept to try! I intend to link as many as I can with my settlement-to-be Notomys, a small fishing hamlet on the coast of the Enchanted Forest. I hope you enjoy! Avalonia: Bayawarra, Jerboan tracker Bayawarra’s knowledge of forest scat was second to none, making him one of the finest Jerboan trackers in the Enchanted Forest. Avalonia: Jultarra, Jerboan trapper Trading marten furs provided Jultarra a living, but more importantly it gave plenty of opportunity to practice archery; her dream was to be the first Jerboan to join the Faerie Forest’s elite Archery Guild. Varlyrio: Marquis of Motu, Human business magnate With Varlyrio intrigue never far from the boil, the Marquis of Motu restored a summer manor in sleepy Notomys; the perfect spot to avoid the (literal and metaphorical) heat. Varlyrio: Lady Motu, Human socialite In Lady Motu’s eyes, a ball was the only way to christen a new manor; invites were sent to all the local Notomys “lords” (insofar as such a thing existed). Kaliphlin: Monoii, Desert Cyclops heiress As heir apparent to her clan of desert Cyclops, Monoii choose to leave Kaliphlin to explore other lands and forge new alliances. Kaliphlin: Arges, Desert Cyclops brute So long as she kept him fed, Arges would follow Monoii to the ends of the earth (which was Barqa, as far as he was concerned...). Mitgardia: Duned’in, Human drunkard Comatose the night the Algus raided his village, Duned’in retreated further into the bottle and further from Mitgardia to escape the ghosts of his family. Avalonia: Sofia, Human fisherwoman Sofia always had a knack for designing snares and craypots to catch even the craftiest of crustaceans. With her father a victim of Drow poison, her skills kept Sofia and her brother Gorki fed. Avalonia: Gorki, Human orphan Gorki specialised in catching hermit crabs; anything larger he left to his sister Sofia lest he be on the receiving end of a nasty bite. Avalonia: Flix, Pixie larrikin For Flix, the work of a pixie was never done: first, there was gathering pixie dust, then there was distributing it; then there was pranking those that visited his fairy ring. Avalonia: Aliạria (Ạria), High Elf herbalist Buck teeth were an ill fit for High Elven standards of beauty - but a perfect target for cruelty. After suffering one too many practical jokes, Aliạria quit the Kingdom of Hesperia and found purpose and belonging as the herbalist and healer in the tiny hamlet of Notomys. Avalonia: Kawa, Grent fungus herder Kawa spent his days tending mycorrhizal fungi and propagating lichen. He was alternatively helped and hindered by his friends Ạria and Flix. Avalonia: Marija, Human widower Left a widower with three infants, Marija discovered a sharp business acumen running the village markets gardens – with support from her mother Đoris. Avalonia: Đoris, Human gardener There was nothing like purpose to roll back the years: Đoris gained new vigour expanding her daughter’s gardens and helping raise her three tiny sprogs. Nocturnus: The Devourer, lich sorcerer Known only as the Devourer, this sorcerer emerged from the fens of Nocturnus during the Drow-Elf War. Now years later, it was rumoured to be sighted again stalking the moors. Nocturnus: Ạrken, Corrupted Drow assassin Its Drow body corrupted by malignant voodoo, Ạrken longed to return to the North and scorch Elven forests to the bare earth. And one of the whole crew together (Flix not to scale!)
