  1. This is my MOC of the rebel base at Yavin IV based on A New Hope, Rogue One and Star Wars Rebels. I tried to make so that it could possibly be made as an actual LEGO set so it's one section out of four to keep the piece count at around 2,000 pieces and the price as low as possible at this size, and so the exterior can be exhibited and the interior can be accessed to at the same time. The set has 4 different sections, each one based on a different area of the base seen in the movies and the TV series. The first one is the hangar where the ships are fixed and get ready for battles, the second one is the war room where the rebel leaders meet and follow the state of the battles, the third one is the room where the rebel pilots were taught how to destroy the Death Star, and the fourth one is the ceremony room where the heroes of the Battle of Yavin got their medals. I made the set on LDD and rendered it with POV-ray. I've made a list of minifigs that I think should be included with the set and I'm finishing making the illustrations for them since some of them are new so I'll post them too when they are done! Feel free to ask any questions about the moc or leave any comments or critiques about it!
  2. So I built this MOC of the A-Wing inspired by its snazzy blue colour scheme in Star Wars Rebels a while ago and it's sat on my shelf for a few weeks. I finally got around to finishing the back area of it although I'm not too pleased with how the engines turned out. Most of this was built from memory without comparing it constantly to reference pictures so I took a few "creative liberties" with the ship like with the guns on the sides. Also, I don't have any tiles in blue and didn't want to make any bricklink orders so I used bricks instead, hence why it doesn't feature the pointed tip the actual ship does (let's just say the rebels modified it). 3. Xizor’s Palace, on the planet Coruscant…. [-Accessing personal logs…….RYN……complete-] Had somebody told me three rotations ago that the Empire and the Rebellion would be “working together” to take down one of the most powerful crime lords in the galaxy, I would have laughed and called them crazy. But that’s the position I find myself in now. Command put me in charge of a small squad of soldiers to assault Xizor’s personal palace, an epic, heavily fortified structure just smaller than the Imperial Palace. Legend has it that if you spent a whole year inside the palace, you wouldn’t even see all the bathrooms inside, let alone every room. Thankfully Alliance Intelligence had kindly given each soldier a holo-map of his palace in order to more efficiently find Princess Leia and not get lost within its hundreds of rooms. While other members of both factions infiltrated up through the sewers, my particular squad rappelled from a U-Wing onto one of the many balconies lining the edges of the structure, after a fly-by shooting insured that we would encounter minimal resistance on impact. The balcony, adorned with exotic plants and greenery, lead to a long hallway in which we met our first foes. Near a door at the end, a small barricade had been set up by Black Sun mercenaries using various crates and cylinders. Once the mercenaries spotted us, they immediately began firing across the room, lighting it up with various red and green laser flares. I ordered my men to hug the walls and wait for pauses between firing to advance up the expensively decorated hall. One of their men unwisely decided to try and advance the hall to us, in which he was quickly cut down by fire from my rifle. Now outnumbered, one of them, a Rodian, ducked behind the barricade, where he could be heard saying- “We need reinforcements! The rebels are advancing on corridor 2C on route to the detention levels.” “What do you mean you are too preoccupied with the Empire?! Ok, I suppose sentry droids will work….” With the majority of the mercs distracted I signaled to the trooper closest to me to dash out of hiding quickly and fire. He nodded and pulled out a thermal detonator, intending to get rid of the barricade once and for all. We both ran out about ten feet in front of the barricade and shot the remaining mercs into cover. When they popped up again, I provided cover fire for my companion while he pushed the trigger on a thermal detonator and threw it, causing a small explosion that took out the last of the mercenaries. Only a whole palace left to go…… [-Closing personal logs……RYN……complete-]
  4. Standing 58cm tall and 59cm long, this AT-AT from Star Wars is probably my largest robot to date. It is controlled by an EV3 p-brick, and is capable of walking, turning its neck, and shooting balls from a twin-ball launcher located inside its head. Here is a list of the functions of the robot: - Walking: 2 EV3 large motors - Neck turning: 1 EV3 medium motor - Shooting: 1 NXT motor Also includes an EV3 IR sensor for use with the EV3 IR remote. After getting the BWE, I had a plentiful supply of grey beams and panels, which I used in the aesthetics of the model. The head design was the most tricky part of the build. I needed it to look good, while at the same time have enough space for the twin-ball shooter with magazines. However, I'm happy with the end result, as it looks quite accurate to the actual thing. With the amount of pieces I had, I was also able to achieve a (almost) full body cover, which although adds to the weight of the robot, looks really nice. There are also two flaps on top of the head that can be lifted up to access the ball magazines. Walking was especially tricky to achieve in this model, as it was so top heavy. Rubber bands had to be used to help pull in the legs when they bore the load of the robot, otherwise the motors would not have enough torque. All legs are controlled simultaneously by the two motors, so the robot theoretically can't turn. However, I doubt the robot could turn even if the two sides could be controlled independently, since it is so top heavy. The EV3 brick can be accessed through opening of the panels on the side of the body. This was the easiest way to access the electronics while keeping a full-body cover (The real AT-AT in the movies also had opening side body panels). Here is a video of the AT-AT walking, turning its neck, and shooting. More information about the robot can be found here: https://www.us.lego.com/en-us/mindstorms/community/robot?projectid=afba4def-3b6b-49f3-8e0f-f964224763d9 Hope you enjoyed this robot!
  5. Finally got myself an A-Wing! I started with the LDD file that posted in this thread by @TheNerdyOne_ and modified it from there. I took inspiration from @DarthTwoShedsJackson's A-Wing's engines, I wanted to brick-build the fins for a more accurate shape, but I wasn't sure because of how thick they'd be, so I went with the new A-Wing fin pieces. I didn't set out to make a specific pilot's ship, I just wanted an A-Wing in a canon colour-scheme. Knowing there was a green squadron I chose that, and stuck a Duros head on the pilot for some variety. Whaddaya know, turns out he already exists! You can also see the cowling behind the cockpit here, instead of the usual wedge piece I tried to replicate the shape with some simple snot sloping. I'm not sure if I saw this design somewhere else, so credit to you whoever you are if you did it first. The biggest problem I had was the lack of parts in the colours I needed to build the slope on the underside so that it nicely mirrors the top. The inverted slopes were either too short, or have big holes in them, and while it's possible with more advanced building techniques, I like my models to be somewhat similar to Lego's sets in their construction, just more detailed if possible. So I just flipped the top slopes and they're held in place by a 11211 1x2 brick with studs on one side and a 99207 1x2 - 2x2 inverted bracket, with brick and plate inserted into the empty space and connected to a 1x2 technic brick with 2 holes for extra grip. It holds well, but the front ends of the slopes have nothing to stop them hanging open a little. Until Lego produces 1x1 plates with studs on the top and bottom, I won't really be able to finish this part as I'd like, so for now I just pinch it now and then and imagine. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Finally, here is the side profile. I made the stand to not stand out too much, and have a somewhat Star Wars-y look to it. Thanks for reading!
  6. The plan was, when they found Xanaah Shi, to surveil her activities and decide when and where they were going to grab her. The team, for this mission consisted of Bill, La Feuvre, new guy Faro and Zaael. Faro was tasked with observing the factory. After a week of surveilling Faro noticed two stormtroopers outside the factory. They weren't there before, something changed. Zaael made the call to speed up the mission and grab Xanaah. On Zhellday, after she entered the factory at 0800... Zaael: Move, hide behind the pillars. Zaael: The tinheads are still here, as expected. We need to take them out. Faro, you go left, Bill, La Feuvre go right. I'll go through the middle to startle them. Faro: Yes sir. La Feuvre: Got it! Bill: Hehehe, right, let's blast them! Stormtrooper 1: So, why did we got stationed here again? Stormtrooper 2: No idea, nothing happens here. Zaael: Freeze! Stormtrooper 2: Wait, huh, no! You freeze! *Blasterfire* Bill: Slicing this door is peanuts! Zaael: Sure Bill, just hurry up. Zaael: It ends here Xanaah. Why are there stormtroopers stationed outside your factory? Xanaah: You will not get away with this! This will not go unnoticed... Zaael: We will get the information, one way or the other. Let's hurry up guys, before her Imperial friends or goons find out she's gone. Bill, you know what to do. Make it look like an accident. Bill: Hehehe, sure thing sir! --- C&C appreciated! 7. Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka: Episode XI: Cracking Down I've been part of the rebellion for more than two years, so I got used to do all sorts of things. I visited numerous planets and met a lot of different beings. Many missions were successful and after some time, I was promoted in Alliance intelligence. I had to search for Boba Fett and report his locations to combat troops. But during those trips I learned many more things and if I complete my work in the next mission I may get promoted to a higher rank, Special force. But what exactly do I have to do? After unsuccessful mission in space, when Alliance fell in Empire's trap on Suprosa, all members involved must hide on Kuat. Furthermore, our mission is to crack the Super-computer or find a technician who will do it. I just landed on Kuat. In a secret underground hangar, to be precise. It was a hard trip, because I had to avoid Imperial trackers and I had to drive as fast as I could. I managed to get a quite good ship. Since I'm used to drive this kind of ship, I was happy to find out it has one large engine and one large wing. And it's small enough to squeeze almost everywhere. The hangar suprised me. I expected something a lot dirtier. I landed and got out of the ship. Instructions were to wait in the hangar, until someone comes to me and tells me furher instructions. During the waiting I took time to take a look of my vessel. I hope they will let me have it, I've been searching for something like this since I had to left my previous ship on Hoth. The ship is really small, but it has some nice weapons. Those small guns on the front couldn't be better for targeting TIEs. And that missile on the engine might be even a bit to heavy for this small vessel. I'm very satisfied with the engine, it's really strong, some small modifications could make it usable for a podracer. And the wing is quite well balanced. I just have to make some modifications on the back of the ship, It wouldn't be bad if it could hold some cargo. But I'll be thinking more about this ship some other time, I think I hear the steps ...
  8. Hello everyone! I didn't really have any important things to do in this week, so I turned out to make a Rebel Gunship/Troop carrier MOC in LDD since the lacking in gunship/troop carrying ships for the Rebellion is kinda bother me. Did the ship's design reminded you for something, huh? Any comments and suggestions are welcomed. I'll post most details of the ship in later posts.
  9. Tasked with a new mission from the rebel headquarters, Vladivus and his crewmates have split up amongst the Black Sun in Coruscant. A Cathar lieutenant is their target, and they have positioned themselves around the sector in the hope that they will be able to follow him as he returns from the meeting. The Cathar speeds past Vladivus' position, on a modified speeder bike. Dressed as a Black Sun enforcer, Vladivus reports the sighting. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: This is a bit of a rushed build, but I'm fairly happy with it. I've been wanting to try a snotted road for a while, so I figured this would be a good opportunity. Anyway, C+C is very much welcome, it's nice to build some Star Wars after rather a lot of castle!

    [SoNE Ep. IX] Espionage

My first mission - to find Boba Fett - wasn't successful, but my second one, on Maridun, was. So, I was given another assigment and if I do it properly, I'll be promoted - in Alliance Intelligence. Me and three other soldiers are searching through the plans. There's a hidden base of Black Sun here, on Coruscant, and it's leadership has had some problems lately. We have to find the base and see what the leaders are planning ... Without figs: My second try with SNOT, maybe it's a bit to clean but a room of this size needs nothing more in my opinion. Hope you like my modest contribution. ---- Thank you for help, Beaver, but I'm not really sure what to do? I did same as always ...

    [MOD] 10227 - UCS B-Wing

As much as I love 10227, there were areas that I felt could have been done much better. Unlike other sets in the UCS line I have seen very few mods, and those that exist have few details. I now feel I have addressed all of my gripes with the model, including a stand that lets me invert the ship, a whole new cockpit and plated S-Foil undersides. Unfortunately I didn't make my album with EB in mind (I'm sorry guys ), so my images are probably too large to embed. All I have for you now is this imgur album and I may add some images to my post later. http://imgur.com/a/uKn5z I'd like to add that I'm not happy having the MF print on the cockpit, and the half cone doesn't come in clear without a print on it! It looks OK, but does anybody know a good way of removing the print? I know many have done so with opaque parts but not trans.
  12. The 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours came and Audi Sport-Team Joest was still the team to beat in Circuit de la Sarthe. They've only been defeated twice, and one of those defeats came from a car that used to power an R8C, and after Peugeot got one off Audi's streak in 2009, the four-ringed brand and their R15 TDI went at it again, and even a big rules change in 2011 did not stop Audi-Joest from taking wins left and right when they made the R18. Naturally, the opponents had to match the clout of Ingolstadt. Peugeot's 908 and Toyota's TS030 Hybrid (along with a Swiss team, Rebellion Racing, which was the lone non-KERS coal burner in the LMP1 world for this decade), stalked Audi from the back, occasionally leading and very much giving Audi a fight. The 908 had a far better chance of taking 2011's spoils from the R18 ultra, while Toyota boxed well with Audi when the Pugs left from 2013 onwards. All the while Porsche said they wanted to join the party her sister was holding at la Sarthe, and when the 919 Hybrid came, Porsche fans rejoiced in the return of the original king of Le Mans. 2014 was a blockbuster hit, but Audi still won. Alright, so there's the backstory behind my builds, which are Tiny-Turbo-scale models of the LMP1's that competed from 2011-2014. I built these cars in the style I saw from //prototyp, using LEGO Digital Designer, and rendered thanks to Tom.Netherton. Here they are together: (Top line, L-R: Toyota TS030 Hybrid and Porsche 919 Hybrid. Bottom line, L-R: Audi R18 e-tron quattro (2014-spec), Rebellion-Oreca R-One, and Peugeot 908 Hybrid4 in 2011-spec 908 livery) Sorry, but singles pictures will come tomorrow morning. I have to sleep. I have stirred awake! Here comes the pictures, with links to the bigger one on the names. Porsche 919 Hybrid Toyota TS040 Hybrid Rebellion-Oreca R-One Peugeot 908 Audi R18 e-tron quattro
  13. After what had seemed like an eternity, the storm had died down. The approaching cloud of sand had covered the entire horizon, and we were right in the center of one of the desert seas. If we hadn't been in the middle of a firefight with the Imps, we would have seen it coming and been able to reach cover in time, but something in the area had been wreaking havoc on our comms. It was probably why the Black Sun had chosen this location for their hideout... if it hadn't been wiped out. From all the screeching of metal and violent impacts to our tank, you would have thought I were in the middle of one of those enormous demolition droids they use on Coruscant. Luckily the hull had held, and I had survived the storm. I had been in the bottom of a large canyon, and the sandstorm had pretty much whipped everything around, and dropped it back in the same spot. There was debris everywhere. There were still some relatively intact vehicles, thankfully, and I had been searching for functioning power cells and repulsors. There was a scattering of parts from the vehicles in the battles - Imperial TIE fighters, Rebel SoroSuub Repulsor Tanks, what was left of a Corellian snub fighter - and tons of debris. I had yet to come across any other survivors, and counted myself incredibly lucky - the Force had been with me. The eyeball's cockpit was still relatively functional, as well as two of the repulsor wings from the tanks. I had managed to cobble together a TIE Ugly that should be able to reach civilization. The hull still seemed to be intact, althought I wouldn't need space vacuum integrity, just enough to keep the sand out. I couldn't believe the transparisteel had survived the storm, but that made this a valuable piece of hardware. Just tack on some Y-wing engines or X-wing S-foils, and I'd have a perfectly functional TIE-Ugly. I had been relieved to see the Jawa, It was incredible how quickly it was on the scene - it's like they have a sixth sense for scavenging. I had discovering the functioning repulsor wings while the Jawa was scavenging, which would let me move the eyeball cockpit back to town where I could work on an Ugly. The Jawa tried to say he had scavenging rights to everything as it was on his "land". He traded those rights for the chassis of my R2 unit pretty quickly though, and left me alone. Just a couple more hours, and this thing will be operational. Then I can search for any more survivors and see if I can locate this Black Sun hideout. I used 20 additional parts for this build. 3 extra base plates, 1 jawa head, 1 brown hood, 1 droid head, 1 2x4 light bley tile, 2 2x6x1 light bley curved slopes (Tank cockpit), 1 white 6x8x2 inverted slope (Tank cockpit) 6 8x6x1 black curved inverted slopes (Repulsor wings), 1 additional 6x6x1 2/3 dark bley TIE bracket (Repulsor wings), 1 windshield piece (Tank), and 2 6x6x2 octagonal hemisperes (TIE cockpit)
  14. As the goblins were preparing for another day of digging in the mines, the one know to the others as Grysnyk clambered up to the balcony the overseers used to give orders and address the laborers. He began speaking to the goblins going about their morning preparations. Grysnyk: Goblins of the North! Why do we labor here in the King's mines? Why are we treated as slaves? Why are we trodden underfoot like filth? Why do we let them do this to us?!? Don't you desire something better? Where you can be free? Goblins: Yes! Yes! Grysnyk: In a few minutes, the warden will come to enforce their cruel rule! When he does, seize him and do as you. See fit! Goblins: Yes! Dance of Time prolouge 001 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr The warden walked in, but it wasn't the usual. It was a new lad, fresh faced and nervous for his first day in the mines. With cries of murder and hate, the goblins swept up and seized him. He barely had time to recognize what was happening before it was over. Dance of Time prolouge 010 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr A few seconds later, and the deed was done. A uprisal was started, and there was no going back. Dance of Time prolouge 014 by Carson Haupt, on Flickr Here's one more shot of the wole build. Rebel Assault

When I'm not hosting Mafia Games or doing college work, I do still build things. I've recently grown out of Star Wars, however I was getting a bit bored of my tabletown Lexington (see my signature), so I uprooted it and replaced it with something new. Basically after the destruction of the first Death Star, Commander Luke Skywalker led many small raids against Imperial outposts in the Outer Rim of the Galaxy. After a few Bricklink orders I've gotten a sort of bare-bones base done. I'm thinking of adding a few turrets and maybe ordering the old Millennium Falcon to assist the vastly outmatched Rebel Soldiers. Also I'm thinking of making a new building to replace the Juggernaut. Skywalker inspires his troops and leads them forward. As more troops rush forward and two drivers rush to the A6 Juggernaut. Two medics take out a wounded soldier. The speederbike motor pool. (Not visible in the main photo due to the tank) The small Rebel squad against the larger Imperial Army. There's a landing pad over next to Flight Control. The larger building is an administrative building. And from the back. The rest of the table is just blue plates, then at the very end a small pirates display, but that's for another topic in another part of these forums. (It's nothing too impressive).
