  1. This is my 2018 build in steampunk style of a flying rock with a small house on top. It has a dock with airboat moored. The rock houses rechargeable battery which in turn powers an M-motor that drives the windmill. The airboat features two domes right from Johnny Thunder Scorpio Palace set. I have waited several years to use it in this configuration :P when finally I had good opportunity to do so. I hope you'll enjoy it! I only have photos from the exhibition, I'm sorry for lack of clarity due to that. There are some distractions in the background...

    [MOC] Endarmire Iron Mine

During the 19th century, steam was the primal and most important source for machinery and vehicles. Besides steam-powered vehicles, mechanics developed clockwork machinery. Interesting and very usefull machinery were the result of the developing. The miners are mining in the Endarmire Iron Mine. They’re searching for iron. The mechanics use the iron to build (mining) machinery. The Endarmire Iron Mine is a large mine, which contains lots of iron and other ores. In the workshop, three mechanics are assembling clockwork drones. The drones going mining for iron. A large mineshaft brings the miners and drones into the mine. The conveyor belt brings the crates, filled with iron, outside the mine. The conveyor belt and mine shaft are motorized. In the center of the layout is a ore-cruncher. There are two docks for flying transport vehicles. [MOC] Iron

I wanted to build it for next Shiptember, but its impossible to wait if an idea in your head doesn't want to leave it 24/7. For sure its not 100 studs long but also not so small. I try to realize similarity with early battleships of XX century, added a big headlight like in steam locomotive, some other elements I took from art, I found in internet. And as a result we have this: the corvette bearing the number 04. It is one of Iron-class spaceships from Morgrim squadron. His captain is fearless Quark Quasarsson. I don't know why but I've invented the crew also. There is no space inside the ship to put them in, so they can only stand on the deck. But I just like them. Funny characters with cool names. On the group photo you can see the Captain itself, his helper boatswain Wimp Fuorsson, cannoneers squad an their Corporal Blazar HI, techintians and First engineer Pulsar Higgs. Some details
  4. This weekend I got my hands on some of the new Lego Movie 2 CMFs. As one of them was the "Apocalypse Abraham Lincoln", I decided to create a post-apocalypse version of his rocket chair from the first movie. I went for a Steampunk theme to go with his new look and for a few hour's work, I think the result's not too bad. I give you The Emancipator Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr I also came up with a little backstory for the pilot... Obviously he's not the real Abe Lincoln, he's actually a former history teacher who, following the DUPLO invasion, found himself living in Apocalypseburg. Like most of the town's citizens, he had heard of the horrors beyond the town's walls; the cat worshipping warrior women, the mutant swamp beasts, the rogue biker gangs and worse (not to mention the DUPLO aliens themselves). Unlike many of the other citizens though, he decided to do something about it. Creating a persona based on the original Abraham Lincoln, he set about bringing freedom to all with the help of his steam powered, lighter than air, balloon chair airship (there's a sentence I never thought I'd type!!). Named The Emancipator it takes him out across the desert wastelands in search of the weak and vulnerable who he guides back the the relative safety of Apocalypseburg. I like to try an imagine how such a craft might actually work and this is what I've come up with!! (complete with dodgy Steampunk pseudo-science!!) Lift comes from spherical balloon filled with lighter than air gas.. Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr While the rear mounted steam driven propellor provides forward thrust... Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr Heat from the firebox (the 2x1 black textured brick) heats the water in the rear most cylinders. The resulting steam is fed into the power unit where it drives a turbine and spins the drive shaft and the prop. The exhaust gases from the fire escape through the chimney while the steam condenses in the forward cylinders for reuse. Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr For defence, The Emancipator is equipped with 2 "Faraday Cannons". Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr The specially designed glass cylinder collects and stores atmospheric electricity. When needed this can be released as a powerful burst of lightning. Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr The craft is still a WIP, "Abe" hopes to continue to improve on the design (a larger hot-air version using the exhaust gases to fill the balloon is one idea, he is also looking to fit it with searchlights and enhanced vision equipment to allow it to operate at night) but for now, "Abe" and his craft remain a welcome sight for those pour souls trapped in the wastelands... Untitled by g.nat, on Flickr I have to say I really enjoyed this build. Having never built a Steampunk inspired model before it was good fun and we may see more of "Abe" and his adventures!! Thanks for looking - comments are always welcome!!

    [MOC] Steampunk Moon City

Two years passed since I've built it and now I can show you my old MOC at last... Ehh, don't ask me why so long. At first there was just an idea to build some houses inside a railway ring. The railway circle was the basis of all. And steam rocket should be there of course, because you can see rockets not very often in steampunk plots. When I started to build, the story wasn’t finally formed, and I only had a rough sketch of a project. So I thought: "If I have a rocket, then steampunk city on the Earth is too simple for lore", so it became the Colony on the Moon. And since the Moon is made of cheese ( I think you won't mind about this fact) it should be cheese-mining city. It’s all I knew, when I started to build. But to be true, when I finished it, I can't say I know much more now. I don't know exactly what function of every building is. I think you can find here likely to alchemy laboratory, the old tower of the first colonist Kiba Azzoh, ticket office, observatory, pub, and some combination of post office and power station. There were plans to do a lot of movable mechanisms, but I left only turnable planets, elevator and a tram.Because too good isn't good, too. Video included.

  7. Hey guys, Some of you may remember the time a few years ago when the first rumours about the Lego Nexo Knights theme began to surface. Some sources claimed to know, that the theme would be Castle combined with Steampunk elements. Some said, the set that we today know as 70317 The Fortrex was actually going to be a giant walking Steampunk fortress. I was really fascinated by those descriptions. Of course, as we all know today, the actually Nexo Knights theme had nothing to do with Steampunk, which really disappointed me. But the picture of a big Steampunk Castle still was floating in my head and so I decided to just build one. What you can see here is the result of that decision: A Steampunk version of the "Fortrex" indeed. It has got everything a proper Lego Castle needs: Drawbridge, Cranes, 2 towers at the front, 1 in the back... and it can walk on four feet powered by a steam engine with giant smokestack! It's pretty cool, isn't it? It took me a long time to build this model but I'm really satisfied with the overall outcome. The biggest challenge for me was designing the legs because I wanted them to be kind of posable but still had to allow them to hold the high weight of the castle above. I also had a lot of fun finding ways to use interesting looking parts and colours in strange "steampunky" ways. For more pictures and information you can visit the Lego Ideas page of this model: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/9bd75f34-22e7-4146-8e02-089cfb9314e4 And if you're already there I of course would be very thankful if you could support the project. ;-) I'm also interested in your opinion regarding Nexo Knights: Would you have had preferred a Steampunk version of the theme or were you happy with what it turned out to be? I'm looking forward to reading you're comments!

    [MOC] Captain Nemo's car

This is a small build for the Eurobricks 2018 event in Billund. The goal was to build a car in the Speed Champions style, either an actual car or a movie car. Since I'm not a car buff I opted for the latter. The car is Captain Nemo's car, from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I took some creative liberties to make it more Speed Champions like rather than going for accuracy. Comments are welcome, and check out my Flickr for higher resolution photos! Wasn't quite sure which forum this belonged in, but since it's a steampunk car it ended up here.
  9. The Black Crow is the ideal adventure 4x4 for the discerning gentleman like Lester looking to travel the world in style and comfort. There is ample storage room in both the back and the roof for all life's necessities. The powerful engine will get you over all terrain and is easily accessed and maintained. A fold-out awning provides shelter from sun and rain alike while you examine the treasures of your travels or enjoy a well earned cup of tea. Adventure Awaits!

  12. I've been on a steampunk kick recently... here are the fruits of my digital labors. The building's a WIP in the real world, while the rest will come later. From a WHAM product brochure (circa late 1909): "Here at WHAM (Wayne Highly Advanced Mechanisms) we always have our eyes on the horizon of the future. From our humble beginnings designing our first line of industrial hyper-reactors, to our more recent ideas of regular rockets to the moon, we here at WHAM are always striving to make our world - and beyond - a better place for us, our children, and so on out into the great unknown of the distant future. I should know, because as son of founder of WHAM, Dr. Lucius Wayne, I, Floyd Wayne am here for YOU. Don't believe me? You can see inside this brochure of our upcoming products for 1910 and decide for yourself. If you have any questions or requests for specific machines, please write to our Marketing and Public Relations department as shown on the back page and I'll see your special needs are filled. Remember: Don't buy a scam, buy a WHAM!" Here are the models I've worked on / revised: the giant robot, frog translator chair, laboratory building, automobile, and personal rocket. Because why should you not have a steam-powered mobile translator device for your highly intelligent pet Frog? Oh, and the inventor of this and much more is Lord Floyd Wayne, an eccentric Victorian inventor with whom failure is not an option. (In case anyone couldn't tell I was listening to Pink Floyd songs while creating these as that's where the inventor's first name came from. Oh, and as a fun note, the frog's chair actually began life as Davros' (creator of the Daleks) chair from Doctor Who. ) This rocket (named the Golden Bullet) is designed for atmospheric travel only, as it does not have a complete canopy nor air tanks for outer space travel. (actually, it was inspired by LEGO Universe' steampunk rocket, but with more recent parts and several recolors) The ship is powered three smaller booster motors and one larger main engine. (The rocket's original inspiration was taken from the first LEGO MMO from 2010, LEGO Universe.) The Golden Bullet comes apart in three sections, with the nose cone, cockpit and engines all being removable from each other. (NOTE: This print is missing from the dark tan 1 x 6 tiles on the driver's compartment.) This giant robot (named the Brass Man) was created by Lord Floyd Wayne as an tool for outer space exploration. Everything the robot sees is transmitted back to it's home base via a hyperspace sub-channel to be recorded and viewed for scientific study. The Brass Man is powered by a experimental hyper-matter reactor, which gives off steam as a safe and harmless by-product. (The robot was originally inspired by @hachiroku's Iron Giant, seen here) The monocle seen here is supposed to have this print. as a sort of targeting computer for weapons and for long-distance magnified viewing. The robot's main weapon is this laser pistol that disintegrates on contact. Only Lord Floyd (it's inventor) knows how it works, as he doesn't want any Earth governments to discover it's dark secrets. This device is only to be used for self-preservation and at that only as a last resort. I plan on using my version of the 2018 Marvel Comics 'infinity War" set 76108 (Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown) for a 1920's-flavored steampunk take on a mad scientist trying to open a time doorway into the beginning of the universe. What he doesn't know is that creatures from before our universe began were destroyed at that moment, so they will come through the doorway to the mid-1920's as a way of sheltering themselves from that fate. Unfortunately, being from that time frame, of course they want to end our Universe so they can live again in peace. As this takes place in my Adventure-verse, Johnny Thunder is tasked with shutting down the doorway before our universe sinks back to before the big bang... and Sam Sinister is trying to use the time / space doorway to achieve vast riches by robbing ancient cultures of their valuables using the Time Window, which draws the attention of the giant robot seen next to the building, leading to a cascading domino-like series of events that have not yet been written. The rear of the building has a ground-floor conservatory. The rearmost window on the bottom floor opens up 90 degrees to allow for figure placement in the conservatory. As a side note, the original Marvel model's exploding walls and drop-floors have been removed. The means from getting from one floor to another is a spiral staircase, and a small skylight has been added to the roof. The inside feature the following: The lower floor has a fireplace with clock on mantle, table with a pizza, and lamp on a side table. The middle floor features a marble bust on a printed safe, and a bed. The dark red thing in the greenish jar is a beating human heart. The upper floor features a desk with some sort of electricity storage machinery, several flasks, two bookcases, time portal computer and microscope. This early-1900's automobile was designed with the tan off-road model in set 76003 (Battle of Smallville) in mind, with a bit of 7628 (Peril in Peru) thrown in for good measure. I was aiming for continuing my Steampunk theme, but ran into a mental roadblock with regards to this car, and about four other prototypes that didn't make he cut. (Sadly, they were accidentally saved over and are now gone) The rear of the model with the spare tire, brake lights, and dual exhaust pipes. ...And that's it for now! Any questions, comments, complaints, and suggestions are always welcome!

  15. Conrad left the boat. He now stads in the docks of Coghallow. As he looked around, he saw many flying ships, from the smallest, to the bigest. Many strange metal man carrying barrels and boxes in the nearby warehouse. - It's good to feel solid ground under our feet. - Cogfizz smiled next to him. - Come, I got thing that may you be interested, and I can give you as payment. Conrad started following the gnome, while he was looking around. Anywhere he looked, every building moved. Wheels and cogs turned, smoke came from every chimney, huge machines hummed gently. They walked away from the docks, and arrived to a square, with a fountain in the center. The residents stopped for a moment, everyone was looking at Conrad. - What's the matter with them Cogfizz? - Conrad lowered his voice, and asked his companion. - Most of the never saw someone, from the outer world. - replied Cogfizz. - Actually, you are the first outsider on the isle. But don't worry, we aren't gonna throw you out, like, you almost did to me... The residents of Coghallow accepts everyone, in the city, sooner or later. This way please. They continued the tour, as they went deeper in the city, Conrad had, more and more questions. And in the same time, he got more and more amazed, about the things he saw. - If there anything you want to know, just ask it. - Cogfizz broke the silence. I Conrad did't know, where start: - Erm... How did you keep this whole island in the air? Is it magic? - A bit of both magic and science. Our ancestors created a crystal, which can float, and increased its power, with energy, what we can create. They a conversation started between them. At first, Conrad asked, and Cogfizz replied to him, but later only Cogfizz was the only one, who talked. The Lore of Coghallow, and how science and magic can work together: Many centuries ago, the ancestors of theisland, were lived on the main continent. They were, engineers, scientist, scholars, tinkerer and philosophers. Many profession, but common in one thing, they weren't acknowledged. The mages and sorcerers didn't accepted their studies. They didn't wanted to fuse science and magic, they don't believed, they can achive much more, if they work together. The mages outcasted them, so did the society. They decided, to move awayfrom Historica. They went to the west, with ships. They found a island, full with natural resources, including heat sources. They start building their little society, from pebbles and sticks. Later, they were able to creat golems, to help speed up the process. The heat sources give them new ideas, how to make use of them, and that was the dawn of the Age of Steam, which, is still on. Their Ancestors achived, what they couldn't achive on the continent. Created a society, where magic and science can create a better life. And pictures about the building, and others:
  16. The Isle of Steam got only one huge city on it, Coghallow. Almost large of the isle it self. Deep in the island, there is the heart of the engine, that keeps it in the air. They are the descendants of the builders, who created this steam powered eden. Mostly gnomes live here, they are 58% of the population. They are higher ranking officers, tinkerers. The next large group is the dwarf, they are 27% of the population. mostly guards, craftsman and workers. The goblins population is low, 15%, they are the reasons, why the city needs guards. Also, thecity is full with golems, and clockwork workers, who helps the residents, in their life. Golden Golem These guardians protecting high ranking members of the society. It says, they are useing the same gold, what the buyer gives to the golem maker. Steam Golem The pinnacle of golem making! They bound the wild airelementals in this enhanced armour. On that day, the golem serves its master Clockwork Nurse In this so much tinkering, sometimes the parents forget to take care their infants. The ide was to creat some one, who can tutor the next generation of tinkerers. Clockwork Carrier-bot This machines are stationed at the docks, ready to carries your bourden. Just simply wind them up, and put your things in the hands, it will follow you. Goblin Crime Lord Not every society is perfect. This too isn't. Not every member works together to achive their goals, someones are making troubles, makes accidents, or just steals the good ideas. And yes of course, they are mostly goblins. Goblin Electician It's not true, to call them "electician". They are simply brave or dumb enough to touch the wires, and to connect them. At least, they are using something protection. Dwarven Vault Guard They are guarding their precious metals. Some times massive 3 lb. thick steel doors can't keep the thieves away, a grumpy dwarf needed to stand there too. Dwaren Forge Master Master blacksmiths. They are not crafting, just supervising the process. Equiped with a hammer and a welding tool, he can give advices, or can correct, or quick repair the work. Dwarven Steam Guard The main law enforcements in the city. They are patroling with the latest weapons, to serve the public. Steam powered blunderbuss both efficient and intimidating. Gnomish Council Member The huge city on the Isle of Steam is governed by the Council of Minds. Each member also the mayor of their own district. With the Key of the district, they can wind up any construction, or building. Gnomish Maintenance Sometimes a clockwork worker isn't efficient for the job. Insight and improvisation is required in some situation in the Heart of the Machine. Gnomish Mailman Huge amounts of information exchanges hosts day after day. The best ways notyet been discovered, so they relies on mails. The best mailmans can deliver a hundred mails in a day. Gnomish Skyknight Don't think them, wearing shining armor, and swinging great swords. It's a title for the best pilotes in the islands aircraft. Gnomish Alchemist The Philosopher's Stone is no longer a goal. To create new materials, help fight diseases, impove, and make the life easier on the island, thats their new goal. Gnomish Engineering Graduated Fresh from the University of Engieering! With that paper in his hands, now he can legally thinkering, and making experiments, without the society banish them. Gnomish Paramedic Broken bone, fever, migraine, leaking oil tank? Dont worry you need to find a Paramedic on the street. It's sure they got something to save your life. Or make worse. Gnomish Golem Creator Pillars of the created society. Their constructs helped,to build up the city, Coghallow, almost from nothing. After the elemental crisis, even more take refuge here. Gnomish Outcast G The residents don't believe in death sentence. They simply banish the person, who comited the crime. They make a complex calculation about what was the deed, and they can't return during that time. If the time is right, the outcasted must find a way to get home.

    [MOC] Steampunk - Steamglider

High-resolution version on Flickr This was built at the same time as my other steampunk builds and displayed at Skærbæk 2016, just never got around to taking a photo of it. I may have to do another shot to better show how the glider is built. Was tempted to change the simplistic style of the base, but decided it was better to keep the same so it didn't stand out too much. Comments are welcome!
  18. Hi, With my friend Aeros67, we decided to start a new project based on a steampunk world, named "Uchronia Vaporium". Short story: "Steam reigns in this world where two factions "clash" to extract all the power: on one side, the Continentals, a military faction that dreams only of conquests, seek to appropriate the plans of a new generation of self-propelled motor-booster, invented by the Islanders' faction, explorers who aspire only to live in peace and harmony. But everything is not so simple..." Here are the first pieces of this project : * The Skyplane : * Insula, the main place of the Islander's faction : Flickr album here : https://www.flickr.com/photos/stephle59/albums/72157687957606263 We will publish more pics soon.

    Bilge Punk Pirate Mech

Something I created last night in the studio. Honestly, I wanted to make a gritty, steam-punk inspired airship, mixing pieces parts from the Ninjago: Skybound 70603 Raid Zeppelin, 70601 Sky Shark, and Day of the departed 70592 Salvage M.E.C. All that I got from that was another pile of bricks. Also, a pilotable mech suit for Pirates. My inspiration was the Skeleton Mech that came with Ronin's Salvage M.E.C. Honestly, I wanted to make a diving suit for my LEGO CMF Series 8 Diver. After putting it together and taking it apart and rearranging the pieces so many times, I ultimately converted the Diving suit into a fully weaponized battle suit for the Brickbeard Pirates. Looking at the build, it looks like an extremely scaled down version of Kai's 70721 Fire Mech. Another source of inspiration, is Captain Metalbeard from the LEGO Movie. By far my favorite character, and set, from the entire thing. (I have made heavy modifications to stock Metalbeard from 70807 Metalbeard's Duel, as well as build from scratch with instructions, An Evil Robot variation of Metalbeard I've come to call Steelbeard. The foot on the left leg is the only thing I dislike about the entire build. It seems flimsy as it is supporting the entire thing, and consists of two bricks. I do like the grating on the angle piece, to make it look like a boot tread though. The major difference between this Moc, and traditional Steam Punk, is that this is more in line with the golden age of Piracy. Ergo, in lieu of a Steam Boiler, this battlesuit is fueled by Rum, grog, or anything else foul smelling that can burn in a boiler. Bilge Punk, if you would prefer to call it anything.

    【MOC】Steam castle

What happens when steampunk meets castle? I believe this creation is one of the answers. This steam castle is an airport terminal of the steam age. Airships can be docked at the front berth or the back berth. The highest tower is a lighthouse and the lower tower is an air traffic control tower which can be rotated. The castle have no internal room for play, however I designed a lot of external space for displaying figures. A small but cute airship is included with the set as well as 5-6 steampunk style figures. In the pictures I placed more figures just for demonstration. If you love this MOC, please support it at the LEGO ideas website. Thank you!
