    Victorian House/10228 Mod

I'm not sure whether this qualifies as a Mod or a MOC. I guess it's both. The exterior is an expansion/re-imagining of 10228. I used the same window design but with a 1/2 stud offset to give the windows a lower profile. Most of the design cues from 10228 have been carried over as well. I also added a bay window on the right and a two story set of bay windows on the left side of the house as well as a second chimney. The house is built in the modular style and will eventually have a fully detailed interior. I will update with more pictures as I complete more of the house. The parlour is nearly done and most of the first floor is in progress - waiting on some pieces. This is the biggest (and most expensive!) project I've attempted and I have big plans for this project, beyond just the interior and exterior. Other images available here.
  2. Here is my latest Modular MOD. It is the sixth modular that i made an XL version of. I take two sets of the original and then MOD it into one large building. Hope you like it. The interior is also adapted to the larger space inside that is available....

  5. I have finally gotten enough parts to start building my first MOC it been a challenge to get the right parts, and its currently waiting for more parts to arrive to continue. So far, its been fun, but I have run into several roadblocks, I should of seen before now! The main ones have to do with what colors are available for certain parts, the biggest being the arches I wanted to use. The sizes I need are not available in the dark orange color. I could of sworn they were, but with LDD, you can't rely on the color being there and the parts actually existing to buy. Oh well, all part of the learning/fun with Lego. I am enjoying it a lot. Don't ask my wallet's opinion though! I have already diverged from my design, by moving the entire house back from the street one stud, which just makes it able to be attachable to the other modulars. I had to change the foundation wall colors to gray from the dark orange, mainly to make the steps blend better, since some of the parts in those are also not available in dark orange color either. I also have added an additional bay to the side near the rear, to enlarge the kitchen space. I am not sure about that yet, its in flux... The empty space to the right of the house will be a walled garden, with the far side incorporating the attachment points to another modular building. I am currently waiting for a BL order or two to install the floor tiles, before I can go too much further, and also the large center window parts, which are hard to find too...another small problem... All the bricks in the background in the boneyard are from a town hall set. That's the top of the bell tower from the TH, just playing around, like a gazebo...LOL Cheers!

    MOC: De Luca Menswear

Hi everyone, here is my latest creation De Luca's menswear! It is a 4 storey building with a store for stylish menswear on the ground floor and several apartments in the floors above. It fits exactly onto two 32x32 baseplates. I wanted to see how interesting I could make a predominantly grey based fascia as I have done mainly white/tan facades most recently. I figured enough texture and occasional colouring could bring it to life. I also wanted to experiment with an idea I had to make a different shape of apartment by hinging the bedrooms for access. It's pretty sturdy with a couple of hinges per wall for reinforcement but it did limit the colour palette slightly. Sadly no bathrooms this time but thought the spacing and shape would allow for kitchens easily enough. The building is based in the early 1960's for reference. I wanted to make furniture from a different era than I usually do. The vehicle is an American style sedan. It took a lot of fiddling to get the rear wheel arch to line up perfectly! I couldn't quite get good light for pics of the bedroom interiors so ill probably post all the furniture separately in the future. Comments and questions welcomed! There's a few more interior shots on my flickr stream here: https://www.flickr.c...57644901364201/ Cheers!

    modern apartments

hello everyone, here i am with a new modular named "modern apartments" Well, let's start first, an image with the Fish Restaurant, because the Metropolitan Bank was demolished for building the Modern Apartments now a photo alone outside there is an ATM and a lampost with two traffic lights and a more detailed image of the entrance bay in the first floor there is the lobby and stairs like the entrance of market street it has two flowerpots, one mailbox, a PC, the lamp and the key the the 2nd & 3rd floors are almost the same, like clones hided down the stairs (not in the lower floor) are the holes of the stairs of the lower floors every apartment (there are only two) has one bed, two chairs, a box simulating a table, a stove , between 2 and 3 suitcases(and betwwen 0 and 1 book) and a special item, which can be a grandfather clock or a lamp that is like the one found in the Creator family home 31012 (don´t confuse with the Creator family home 6754) and finally my favorite part, the roof it features a flag pole like all the my modulars, a roof door like the one in the fire brigade, a detonator of a secret bomb installed by the croocks when it was the Metropolitan Bank & two satellite dish, perhaps there isn't any TV in the building and the doorkeeper watces his tv novels by internet and for the real last an images with all the modules I hope you like it, don't forget to comment

MOC: My 6-wide car with a secret...

I like building 6-wide cars that seat 2 figs next to each other. But this car has a secret... Whoosh! The pullback motor is custom, to fit in my 6-wide plan. The gears let it freewheel once no more power is being put in. Two of my cheerleader squad show off the convertible mode. The nice thing about making your own motor is that it's upgradeable. I used the first elastic band I found; I'm sure with a stronger one this beast could go much faster! This one went down very well on Reddit. Incidentally I would love to see more Eurobricks-quality mocs there, if anyone wants to share their stuff there. Anyway, because of the support I made instructions available to download (you can enter "0" to get it free if you wish). More details. (Flickr). More 6-wide cars.

    MOC: Modular Coffee bar

Hi there, Yesterday I introduced myself and I promised that I would post some of my MOC's so here is the first one. For the Modular Moc Madness contest on lowlug.nl I've created this modular coffee shop. The goal was to create a modular that would fit perfectly next to Lego's latest Modular building, the Parisian restaurant. I've wanted to create terras covered by a canopy with vegetation for as long as I can remember and I what better building would fit that idea than a coffee bar / restaurant in Paris? On the back side is a terras where Billy can work on his laptop while enjoying the... uhh... smoggy Parisian air. . The building has a complete interior. On the first floor there is a bar where Lars makes delicious espresso's and cappuccino's from fresh coffee beans. There is a small kitchen to prepare some delicacies and costumers can sit and lounge at one of the tables or the bench. When costumers have a little more time they can go to the lounge area on the second floor and relax while enjoying some live Jazz music played by band. The fire place emits a warm and comfy light. On the third and top floor there is a toilet. It appears someone forgot to flush. Lars has his own little attic room where he can take a nap and count his profits. I've created several modular buildings before this one and this one is the first that has got a interior with this amount of details. I was quite a lot of fun to build after building for a medieval layout for several months (although I must admit, I enjoy fantasy and sci-fi even more). I'd like to hear what you think.

    Modular Space ship

The Futuron Explorer is a modular space ship. I've made this ship in the Futuron (Lego Space theme) colour sceme. Each part of the ship can be disconnected from each other. So it's possible to make three space ships, each his own functionality. The ship is suited with a lot of features: - Three cockpits (Each of them can operate as a space ship) - A crane to pick up containers - mini sattelite (which can be disconnected from the ship) - guns to protect the ship and the other bases and vehicles - A speeder who's connected at the backside of the ship. It can be used for discover places what isn't reachable for the space ship - Two ground vehicles for mining Crane and sattelite: All components of the space ship: Some possible combinations: More pictures at: https://www.flickr.c...57634679349007/

    MOC: Local Art Shop facade

Art Shop I drive past this building on a daily basis and the color scheme they've used really stands out. The detailing on the facade is very common in the rural towns here in the mid-west and I just had to build it. It's currently an Art Shop with a sign in the window that says "Open Hours: When the lights are on", but inside it's dusty and looks deserted. I used an upside down SNOT techniques to build the detailing at the top just under the parapet and I also built the windows upside down to hide the white studs from being visible in the 1x2 trans pieces directly under the wheel arches. Additionally the main piece of the facade is inset 1/2 stud using jumper plates to enable the two sides to stand a bit proud from the rest. Here's a shot of the MOC and the original building (Standing on the bed of my truck with the MOC on a loud-speaker stand carefully slanted to ensure it was level and waiting for a gap in the traffic) Oh, and here's a Google maps link if you want to explore the other crumbling and neglected wonders of midwestern architecture... https://www.google.com/maps/place/104+E+Cherry+St/@37.838175,-94.35645,3a,90y,110h,90t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1spBeYYxjD5-E49pJuRT9IkA!2e0!4m2!3m1!1s0x87c6545f65dcf487:0x9e422f982e6f1d58!6m1!1e1 Thanks for reading and comments and criticisms welcome!

    MOC: Soup Kitchen/Flop House

My Lego Town is continuing it's economically downward trajectory with this addition of a Soup Kitchen/Flop House. It's in a run down part of town and it helps the locals who rely on it being open 24/7. Cheap wholesome food served hot! The facade is crumbling and there's some masonary in the sidewalk, the bricks are discolored (Yay for second hand bricks!), the drainpipes don't join in the middle, and the signwriters printer hasn't yet created a suitable sign ( ) From the rear Rickety steps leading up to the Flophouse entrance, the dumpster, and some graffiti artist admiring their work. Yep! It's a Banksy! Here's the ground floor Soda machine, bathroom, microwave, entrance lobby, bench seating, fully fitted kitchen - complete with big freezer, fridge, 6-ring burner, sink and storage. Wall mounted, large old-school TV tuned to a local station. Twin cup holders. Friendly service. The soda machine Upstairs the Flop House/Cheap Hotel Three bedrooms, one wash room, check in desk (complete with a dead rubber plant on top of some shelves). Here's the Soup Kitchen/Flop House next to my rundown Bar (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79480) / Taco Truck (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77566) I hope you like it and criticisms/suggestions/comments are welcome!
  20. Hello Eurobrickers, I would like to present to you my entry for the Contest: Free Build. I have entered it in the entry topic, this one is just for C+C enjoy! It is a 32 x 48 modular building as my dream house would be to live in a LEGO city, much like Emmet... But this house could also exist in the real world. I chose a modular because I like living in the city, although I enjoy living in a house at the moment, I think I would enjoy living in a more populated area with lots of buildings around. Anyway, enough chatter, here's some pictures. (Please excuse some pictures are rendered and some are not, the picture of the middle floor is taking forever) So here it is! There are only a handful of bricks that are either really expensive on Bricklink or that aren't made, but they are easily replaced with a similar colour should I ever have the money to brick build it. I have also taken a couple of short cuts with the floors but i was just being lazy, they would just need a bit of reinforcement and maybe a few different size plates to make in real bricks. Features here are the verandah on the bottom floor to sit on and watch the world pass by and the balcony on the top floor for a similar purpose from a bird's eye view. And the back, featuring a back garden for my cats (you may notice lots of cats, I love cats and my dream home would involve lots of them), a small swimming pool and a nice tree to take shade under for outdoor dining. Left: This is the kitchen, plenty of bench space and a very big fridge, I like food although you have to be careful when using the top right hob, sometimes the curtain catches on fire Right: This is the living room with a cosy fireplace and two large comfy couches. Here is the best part of the house, the whole middle floor is a dedicated LEGO room. As you can see, there is a large train/city layout. I have tried to include as many sets as possible including three train sets, 4 creator houses, 5 modulars, and many more classic sets which may be harder to figure out but anyway, you get the idea There is also a building table next to the chimney, this has a lamp of course as well draws containing all the spare parts and it seems my minifig self is working on a purple modular which is seen in The LEGO Movie. Also there is a table tennis table, but I stole its design from the Fire Brigade modular, I just really like table tennis! And finally, this is the top floor, which contains the bedroom and bathroom (out of picture on the bottom left) and the TV room with another cosy fireplace and a couple of bean bags to sink into and watch my fav shows Also this is the floor from which the balcony is accessible. There's a photo of the bed and bathroom on my flickr account, as well as non-rendered versions of everything. LXF File: available on the entry topic! Anyway, I hope you like it and good luck to all contest entries, I really enjoyed building this and now I have a blue print for my dream home Cheers, Tim.

    [MOC] Hill Valley Clock Tower

I just tore apart the Town Hall and started to make the Hill Valley clock tower from Back to the Future. Based on drawings I have acquired, I decided to make the model on three 32x32 baseplates. When complete, the finished model should be approximately 38 bricks tall. I finished the first floor mostly, aside from some bricks I am short. I won't place a bricklink order until I am done with all three floors to cut down on the number of orders I have to place. The rear of the building was never shown in the movie, as it didn't exist anyway, so I made the back look somewhat like the Town Hall's front. More pictures are uploaded to my flickr account here: https://www.flickr.c.../122646862@N02/ I hope to complete the next two floors next weekend. Then I can move onto the other project seen in the background in a couple of the pictures. That was has been on hiatus with parts stuck in customs for over 3 weeks. I bought replacement ones and they are stuck in customs as well now. Apparently, dark grey 1x1 plates are dangerous commodities.

    MOC: Octan Motors Concept Store

OCTAN MOTORS: CONCEPT STORE To further extend their sales (and profits), Octan Motors has recently been building more showrooms that are suitable for the next generation of customers. This latest store (located within Mayhead City) is apparently the first of many to be built across the country. On the ground floor, there are various laptops so that customers can browse through the complete collection of cars that Octan Motors currently offers to customers. A large screen behind the counter showcases tweets with the hashtag #OctanMotors attached to it. This generally works well, but occasionally this has been a problem as some people (and even competitors) have been tweeting abusive messages, which are then displayed on the screen. A dummy version of one of Octan Motors current sportscars is also mounted on the wall to make the store stand out on the high street. On the second floor, there is a full design studio where designers work around the clock to design new vehicles for Octan Motors (except on tuesdays) A design studio will be included in every new concept store to get an idea of the demand for certain products to streamline their new release schedule. Next door to the designer studio, Octan Motors Vice President Mr Business' office is located, with his personal computer and simple desk (since the Battle for Bricksburg, he's decided to downsize his role within Octan, along with returning the company to it's roots by scrapping all products except for Fuel and Motors). He specified his office to be located next to the designer studio so that he can make sure they're actually working instead of sleeping. More images from the opening of this new showroom can be found on my Flickr photostream. Thanks for looking!
  23. Hi! This is my very first post, so I think I should give a short introduction to myself. When I was a kid I used to be a huge Lego lover and builder, but afterwards I haven't almost touched a brick for almost 20 years. Just recently the passion came back thanks to the modular buildings... I really love those models! I want to present here my very first MOC, the Comptoir Florian. The name come from my favorite tea house, located in Bruxelles (Rue Saint-Boniface 17) that I used as inspiration. Most of the bricks come from the Palace Cinema (10232) and the rest are parts I found in the brick wall in the nearest Lego Store... that's why sometime I was a bit too limited with the colors available. It's a half-size modular building composed by two floors: the ground one with the bar and the second one with the tea room. Here is the front view: And the back view: Detail of the entrance: Ground floor with the entrance, the bar, the stairs to the second floor and the door on the back side: From the back side: Detail of the bar, with a samovar, the tea boxes on the shelves and a chinese umbrella as decoration: Under the stair there is a small room used to store stuff: Back side, with a rubbish bin and some flowers: View of the first floor: Details with the fire place... I love the lamps hanging over the tables and the stairs :) : In the other corner there is a bookshelf with some books for the customers. On the walls there are a few modern paintings: The stairs with the lamps again: And now the top level with the facade and the roof: On the back there is a terrace with some flowers: So, what do you think? I would like to find some space for a small toilet (maybe in the room under the stairs) and a stair to access the top terrace.

    Ballista Siege

This is the second set in my series of custom modular Castle sets. It is similar in size and part count to what an official set would be. The wall can hinge and features a breakable wall panel for the ballista to knock down. The ballista actually works and is surprisingly powerful. Total piece count, including figs is 168 parts. See the ballista in action here: All prices include shipping to anywhere in the US. Price for the complete set is 25$ Without the minifigs: 19$ For just the wall and defending soldier: 18$ And for just the ballista and attacking soldier: 10$ All C&C welcome

    [MOD] Emergency Treatment Center

My town needs a hopital. I have owned the ETC since it came out and it has always been my favorite hospital. Since the city has gone modular recently I decided to build a in modular form that still resembled the Emergency Treatment Center. I don't have too many snot bricks at the moment so I can't be too fancy. A shot with the top parking structure removed. Start of the 2 ER rooms on the first floor This will be the reception area and elevator. I'm not too keen on elevator design so I am using a lift from an old shell gas station. I have just started this project recently and it is on hold mostly until either I sort more bricks or change the color scheme. The hospital will be 2-3 stories tall eventually with the elevator being taller than the area near the parking structure. I am thinking maybe a helipad on the top of the 2nd floor there but that is pretty far down the road. Here is a link to the Emergency Treatment Center if you are not familiar with it. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/6380_Emergency_Treatment_Center
