    [MOC] Nano Modular Buildings

Hello The Modular Buildings are one of the most popular Sets by TLC. I rebuild most of them in my own Style, a bit less than the normal: A work of mostly laying instead of building. Jonas
  2. Hello again. I just completed my latest moc mini modular. It's a castle! Some features you'll see include a moat, drawbridge, alligator, and four cannons! Any comments, questions, or suggestions are appreciated. As always, you can see more photos on my flickr. Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you like it!
  3. Lately, there have been surfacing some great mini models here. Please take your time to accept my micro (not just mini!) models here as well. Because finally, after half a year of sweating, I can proudly present these micro ships to you . I've been wanting to make these guys ever since my A-wing, to expand my lines of micro SW ships. But it didn"t proove to be easy. [MOC] micro B-wing & Y-wing by Bert.VR, on Flickr I had already built a Y-wing with 5 pieces, but didn't consider that as what I really wanted . So I sat down again to play with all kinds of pieces. The idea of using Technic axles for the columns was what sparked the Y-wing. It also offered a chance to use my favorite part, the wrench. It may look a bit skinny, but at least a sence of greebling is there. The hardest part was the head of the fighter. I really wanted that sloping form, and it had to be thicker than the body (that wonderful SNOT brick). I came up with the frogman's foot inserted in a claw piece. And tada, a 15 part Y-wing is born (16 parts if you would like to add a minifig hand on top to simulate a cannon)! In my opinion, it's much better than the version from the advent calendar... [MOC] micro B-wing & Y-wing by Bert.VR, on Flickr A B-wing had never been featured in the advent calendar (the scale I aim for), and pretty soon I discovered why. To make it look good in this scale, it has to be as thin as a single plate, and studs would completely ruin the model . So I was left with all those specialty pieces. I scrolled through the whole part inventory of LDD multiple times, only to find nothing. The B-wing remained unbuilt for several months. Do you know that feeling when after a very long time, you finally find what you are looking for? Well, imagine the feeling I experienced when, completely out of the blue, I stumbled across THE piece for my B-wing . Recognized it already? The piece that makes the central wing of the B-wing is... It had everything (apart from not being produced in grey) to make my B-wing look good. Some claw pieces, and my favorite wrench part soon snapped into place. The wings were a bit tricky, but I'm satisfied with the minifig neck pieces. The hole in it can be assumed to be that logo on the wings. They're not foldable, but can be swapped out easily with normal 1x1 plates to go to landing mode. The B-wing is my smallest model yet, with only 8 (!) pieces . I hope you can enjoy it nonetheless. It's not buildable in real life, unless you want to paint a Buzz wing. The Y-wing is buildable (hurray!), if you go with regular yellow instead of cool yellow, and pick the technic axles in dark grey. so in fact, you could put it next to my x-wing, or any other micro's you might have. [MOC] micro B-wing & Y-wing - exploded by Bert.VR, on Flickr I hope you like it. Comments are always welcome, as well as suggestions for further micro's. Because Size matters not. Judge me by my size, do you ?
  4. Hi, Happy New Year! Finally got a chance to test out my new camera on my latest mini mocs. Enjoy! Art Store: Little Lime Corner: Both: As always, any comments or suggestions are appreciated. You can see a few more angles on my flickr. Thanks for looking!

    [MOC] 6913 - Waterland

Ciao. This evening I open the set Creator 6913, that was meant for my nephew. But he want only "big set" so I take this for me. I ignored the instructions and I thought of something different, and this is what I've made: Waterland (little) Below you will find the 4 pictures with different views. - The entrance is easily identifiable - There are two water slides, one for adult (dark blue), the other for children, light blue - There are two waterfalls, clear parts - The walkways are white, and yellow brick identify access to the attraction - The orange brick on a white identify the benches - The is also a waterway at the bottom of this set, where people can swim With the pieces that I had not been able to do more! Best Ale

    Fortress Illing'vress'ive

In a huge cavern below the rakath mountains, across the lava sea with lava falls, lies the ancient home home of the house Baen'und - fortress "Illing'vress'ive". Due to it's unique location it was never conquered, and it is very unlikely that it will ever be attacked.

    Micro "UCS" Models [MOC]

Hello, Brickers! Today I bring you the first two in my series of Micro "UCS" models. Micro "UCS" models are a type of building where the model is built in micro scale, but with full playability and functionality, with as much detail as can be crammed into them. The first model is Jabba's Palace. It has 243 pieces, as compared to the original's 717. It has microfigures to represent Jabba, Oola, Bib Fortuna, Chewbacca, Han Solo in Carbonite, a Gamorrean Guard, and Boushh (Leia). Features include: Removable Carbonite Block, Removable Palace Roof, and detachable guard tower. It can connect to my upcoming Micro "UCS" Rancor Pit. The second model is Jabba's Sail Barge. Based off of the 2013 edition, this model has 14 pieces, with microfigures for Jabba, Slave Leia, Ree-Yees, a Gamorrean Guard, Max Reebo, the Weequay, and R2-D2. Features Include: Opening side Hatches, and Movable Side Rudders. Interior of the Barge, with Max Rebo's Piano, and Jabba,
  8. Hello The famous Castle Neuschwanstein by King Ludwig II. Next to the experiment of some new hairy trees and stairways, this is my second entry to the MocOlympics 2013. More pictures on flickr and MOCpages. (You can find my entry to the first MO round here. ) I hope you like it. Jonas

    Avell Castle

Built for this year's Mini Castle Contest. Finally got me a cause to build microscale, and finally the contest returned. Once again it makes me realise that microscale is what I like building the most, no doubt about it. The contest's scale was game-fig, but I took the liberty of making my own miniminifigures instead. For some reason I don't really like the look of game figs, so it was a fine challenge to think of something new. Flickr Brickshelf (full gallery) Enjoy!
  10. Behold! My first microscale model. It took a lot out of me. C/C appreciated.

    [Micro MOC] The Yoshikuni

The Yoshikuni by skapunkplaything, on Flickr The Yoshikuni by skapunkplaything, on Flickr The Yoshikuni by skapunkplaything, on Flickr The Yoshikuni by skapunkplaything, on Flickr When Siro Hatzuki graduated from clandestine supplier of weapons to Outer RIm pirates to legitimate member of the Merchant's Guild, he was told that he no longer had to be the ostentatious figure he once was. Being rich enough to ignore pretty much all advice, he went on to construct his pride and joy, the Yoshikuni, ostensibly his 'yacht'. However, with a scale and defence suite rivalling most warships of similar size, it is far from a simple pleasure craft. Length: 225m Crew: 102 (50 passengers, to boot) Armament: 2 x STS Cannons (Wing-mounted). 2 x Single-mount Frag Cannons. 4 x Flak turrets. Computer: Hitachi XT-80a. [[Realistically, This has been built for a long, long time and I've been too lazy to photograph it. I need to take it all apart, for the sake of SHIPtember.]]
  14. My parents own a summer house, close to the small town Katrineholm, Sweden. The house was, when they bought it 8 years ago, in very bad condition due to that it stood empty for several decads. However, today it is in better condition. Anyway - I just had to build this house in LEGO! To make the model fit in one of IKEA's vitrine products I tried to create it in a as small scale as possible (but still in a size which makes it possible to recreate the windows in a good way). I think what I'm most happy about with this creation is the choice to use studs on the roof - I think that creates a great contrast towards the smooth walls. You are able to find a reference picture of the real building at the end of this post. When the regular slope-parts (http://www.bricklink...asp?P=3040]3040[/url]) are attached to each other you don't achieve the 45 angle I was looking for. So instead I used a combination of http://www.bricklink...asp?P=3040]3040[/url] and http://www.bricklink...p?P=92946]92946[/url] Could this building be built in an even smaller scale? Sure... Comparison - which one do you like the most? (The big one consists of appr. 1400 parts, the small one 300). This is what the real house looks like: Hope you enjoy it!

    [Micro MOC] AS-27 Escort Shuttle

AS-27 Escort Shuttle by skapunkplaything, on Flickr AS-27 Escort Shuttle by skapunkplaything, on Flickr AS-27 Escort Shuttle by skapunkplaything, on Flickr The '27 was first commissioned for the wealthy gas traders of Saturn at the turn of the century, but has seen widespread use in a number of areas since. These traders were highly prized targets of kidnappers and pirates throughout the Sol System and beyond, and soon realised that if they failed to travel well armed, they might as well not travel at all. In that vein, the '27 was designed and put into production by the military arm of Lockheed-Franklin. With a thick, duranium armoured hide and three (one heavy dorsal, two underslung medium) plasma cannons, it was at first deemed too well armed for civilian use. A couple of bribes later, and the AS-27 was rolled out and bought in droves by wealthy VIPs, traders, governments and NGOs. It has since, of course, made it's way into more unscrupulous hands and has been used as a boarding craft, gunship and loot-boat. Length: 39m Crew: 2. Passengers: 25, or 12 armoured marines. Armament: 1 x Heavy Plasma Cannon (dorsal). 2 x Medium Plasma turrets. Computer: MS2700H (under licence)
  16. After creating my micro X-wing and TIE-advanced, I wondered whether I could design new micro models, or whether my first MOC was just a lucky shot . I decided to expand my collection of builds, aiming for a maximum piece count of 15 per build (so that it could fit in the advent calendar). The TIE-interceptor came first. The most recognizable parts were the wings, so I started looking for pieces. I'm glad with the result, but it would be even better if a "fin"-piece would appear with one straight edge and a pin at that side. But well... I'm complaining too much . Then, I needed a rebel fighter from episode VI (for playability of course! ). I tried the Y-wing and B-wing, but didn't got that far. The A-wing was a tough one as well, because the most recognizable element is the overall shape. I got stuck once more. In the meantime, I was building set 4507 (Prehistoric creatures), and I stumbled across the Bionicle eye piece. It was a hit. The idea of rollerskates as engines followed a bit later on. But the canopy was a real pain... Untill I discovered it was already there with the clip for ataching the nose . My build was finally complete. The TIE-interceptor consists of 13 pieces, the A-wing clocks in at just 9 pieces ! I'm happy with the result, but there's a downside: the fin pieces that make up the TIE's wings are not available in black and the rollerskates are only available in black. None of these models is buildable in real life... so far.

    MOC: Mini Modular Apartments

I've designed a few mini modulars in LDD and decided to get the pieces for this one because it was my favorite so far. I like how it turned out. Enjoy. http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Sorry for not putting the pictures in the actual post. I always get confused by the formatting. Thanks for looking. Mini Grey and Blue Apartment by johnparilla, on Flickr
  18. It all started a year ago. I was following toomuchcaffeine's project on cuusoo (micro star wars scenes), and in the comments he said he had trouble making an X-wing. I could spare some time, and I started building myself, in the hope that I could contribute to that wonderful project. I wondered how small I actually could go making the X-wing. I wanted to make it instantly recognizable and yet very tiny (those official micro models from the planet sets are great, but you can't call that micro ). So I had to use some odd parts for het most iconic features: the wings. The X-wing got car doors.Once I had that key-feature, I kept the main body simple and focused on the shape. I suggested this design, but (obviously!) it was too big for 2MC's project (no hard feelings!) But I started to really like this micro-scale building. I improved my X-wing, and decided to deliver him a friend enemy. The TIE-advanced got shields as wings. I was happy with this micro build and I made this little scene, complete with pew-pew lasers! (the flick-fire missiles are unfortunately out of scale ...) Again, built with LDD and rendered with LDD2POV-Ray. Then, I amused myself by making a real scene , with the excuse of letting you see the model from another angle... Hope you like it, and if you do: thank you, the pleasure is all mine. Eurobricks is awesome

    BB-22 Corvette

BB-22 Corvette by skapunkplaything, on Flickr BB-22 Corvette by skapunkplaything, on Flickr BB-22 Corvette by skapunkplaything, on Flickr BB-22 Corvette by skapunkplaything, on Flickr The BB-22 is a modern twist on an old classic. A jack-of-all-trades workhorse of any navy or pirate fleet. With a dual-frag-turret on it's bow, and tracking ion cannons fore, aft and dorsally, it is capable of holding ground against both capital ships and fighters, although not both and not in great numbers. The BB-22 is usually found tightly tucked into escort position around a larger ship, or screening a cargo vessels from assault. Length: 175m Crew: 55, 4 officers. Armament: 1 x Dual Frag Turret. 4 x Fast-Tracking Ion Cannons, 2 x Mass Driver Turrets. Computer: TecCore Positron Matrix, linking the main bridge (aft) and the gunnery bridge (fore).

    MOC: Smaug the Micro

Smaug the Magnificent Micro He loves Gold! I have to say this is the smallest Smaug I’ve ever seen or built (Heh heh). Anyways I wish so much that I could make a massive Smaug, however my gold hoards are rather low for that, so I settled with Micro. Although don’t you call my micro hoard puny—those coins are as big as 12 micro hobbits! This works quite well for another Middle Earth Micro like my Orthanc. Smaug himself was quite a challenge to make at this scale, but I settled with some piles of red bricks to give the impression of him. In all actuality he’s only made from two red minifigure hands, two red plums, and a red snake. And yes, it was a painful process to pile up those coins and then place a dragon on it. Enjoy! ~Nemo

    F41 'Cougar' MR-Fighter

F41 'Cougar' by skapunkplaything, on Flickr F41 'Cougar' by skapunkplaything, on Flickr A rapidly advancing age of space combat, demanded a multi-role fighter craft which could engage in and emerge from changing combat situations. The Cougar was Lockheed-Franklin's final design into the market of the multi-role ship, causing a stir in the military world and gaining a foothold in many Solar Navies, despite the high cost and complicated maintenance schedules. Very swooshable, to boot!

    A fistful of fighters.

FB-22 'Scimitar' by skapunkplaything, on Flickr A cutting-edge Fighter-Bomber hybrid, the FB-22 turned around the ailing fortunes of the ailing EarthCorp-Lockheed group. With four weapon hardpoints, a sturdy hull design and good all around performance, demand for the ship rose in the Earthling military and beyond. As ever, a small number fell into the hands of pirates and mercenary forces. X-33 'Golden Gear' by skapunkplaything, on Flickr Piloted by the notorious leader of the Gearhead gangster group, the X-33 is a one of a kind ship. Behind the bling-bling paint job lies an experimental power core more suited to a small corvette than a fighter-gunship. Accordingly, the Gearheads murdered the research team before the technology could fall into other hands and diminish their advantage. F-12 'Swingwing' by skapunkplaything, on Flickr The F-12 forms the latest step in a line of snubfighters designed to be affordable but effective, given decent pilots and superior numbers. The basic model features standard cannon and shields, as well as a tree-shaped air-freshener as standard. For fancy things like rockets and jump capability..? You're going to have to pay extra. G-20 'Flying Saucer' by skapunkplaything, on Flickr Combining multi-vector engines with a potent arsenal, the G-20 became an expensive toy favoured by well-fed mercenaries and executive bodyguards in Solar corporations. Capable of taking on four regular fighters single-handed, the G-20 cost eight times as much. Many people skipped the math, leaving the 'Saucer a rare sight. *** Apologies for the terrible photo-quality, my camera is currently out of service, but I wanted to share regardless.

  25. I was going through, building some new collectable minifigs, and came across what could be one of the most versatile new elements this year. The roller skate is flat on the back with a lip on the front, allowing for two different aspects of a vehicle to be created. Start playing around with parts similar to this, and we've now opened up a whole new world of tiny. Feel free to check out more uses!
