Hey there, First things first: I really dislike square bases, this one was made just to cover the basic bricks that I used to elevate the all build to match the rest of the display. Just Ignore it :) This is another build to my LUGs (comunidade 0937) display that will be first time showed on Arte em Peças on the first 2 weekends of June. It will be part of a village that it will be inserted on a large display next to my blueWater Castle. The Wedgwood house and the Healer’s House will be part of it to. It was a real blast building these one because of the color scheme that I just happen to love. The roof is bright light orange and the landscape is primarily lime green. [MoC] A Disgraced Samurai Performing the Seppuku Ritual

Following the Bushido honor code, a disgraced Samurai is carrying out the Seppuku ritual. The Seppuku act consists of the Samurai warrior performing a ceremonial self-disembowelment in front of spectators. After the samurai is finished, he stretches out his neck for his kaishakunin (assistant) to decapitate him. The ritual is extremely violent. Blood is spilled all over the site of the act, even the white flowers have turned red... -

The Soup Was Not to His Liking - A Tale of Espionage

Hello again, I wanted to write a short suspenseful and action-packed bit with some espionage, and the build to go with it. The MOC is based on a real medieval kitchen at Hever Castle, England (click on the picture for the FLICKR link). This is also a global storyline update for Lands of Roawia. Hope you like it... --------------------------- Something wasn’t right, besides what the Duke of Ainesford was blabbing on about; no that cook…he was taking far too long to clean up the ale he himself had spilled on the stairs. And Captain Tavish was certain he was pausing to listen to what was being said on the Speaker's Floor, strictly against the rules for “the help” here at this Great Congress of Lenfald. The grizzled archer nudged Sir Caelan Munro sitting next to him, but the Baron barely noticed as he listened to Ainesford's speech and replied, “Can you believe what this pompous jester here is advocating? Full compliance with the new king, improper marriage and all! I just lost all respect for the Duke...” Tavish shook his head in mild frustration at Sir Caelan and got up to check on the cook, but he had barely made it halfway there when the cook suddenly collected his rags and left. Now that was entirely too coincidental… The Captain headed down the hallway to find him but was immediately accosted by the two ever-present and intellectually-challenged guards waiting there. Security at the Great Congress was incredibly tight due to the volatile nature of what was being discussed; no one except the castle guards themselves were allowed any weapons whatsoever, and all the delegates and staff were sequestered inside the castle for the duration of this critical assembly. Upon seeing the archer they held out their halberds to stop him, but Tavish was way ahead of them. “Ah, there you are my good lads, I am here to report an illegal weapon, one of the delegates has a knife, I clearly saw it. Here, let me point him out.” Excited that they finally had something real to do, the two looked like dogs waiting to go fetch a thrown stick. The Captain deliberately motioned at the middle of the delegates on the far side of the largest hall in all of Lenfald, and pointed indiscriminately, “there, that one wearing dark green.” The two were halfway across when they realized nearly every delegate there was wearing the official color of Lenfald. The archer entered the Great Kitchen impatiently as he searched for the man, to no avail; he wasn’t there. It was incredibly busy in the hot room, but there was one cook removing the entrails from a goose who he grabbed by the arm after the man objected to his presence. “Did a cook just rush through here?” “Oh no, I haven’t seen a cook all day!" he spit out sarcastically. "Look about you mate, you’re in a kit…” he didn’t get any farther as he was suddenly and violently shaken. “Tall, thin, muscular, with a goatee and a deep tan like he has been in the…” a sinking feeling hit Captain Tavish as he finished his own sentence, “…desert.” “Oh, the new bloke,” the cook muttered resentfully. “Yeah, he’s in the side kitchen over there.” “New bloke? But the staff has been sequestered!” “Aye but we ran short o’ help and contracted from outside…” Now Tavish’s stomach was turning, and not from the sight of the goose’s entrails. He shot down the side hall and found the door to the secondary kitchen locked from the inside. He was not a slight man however and he burst through it after four body slams, only to face an arrow shot at him. Quickly turning to present a smaller target the shot barely missed, and Tavish then plunged into the small kitchen. It had two ovens, one to his left and another to his right with a window facing the outer ward of the castle. A massive pot of some concoction was bubbling away in that fireplace, and two cooks were to his left, down and bleeding in front of the other oven. To his right across a table full of foodstuffs and dishes stood the dubious cook, now smoothly knocking another arrow. As Tavish reached for a large pot to try and deflect the shot, the cook instead leveled the shot at the window and fired the arrow out of it. Instantly Tavish knew he had just lost, for two things came to his eye; the arrow had a note tied to it — the spy had just successfully gotten the word out as to whatever he had heard. And the other thing was personally alarming; the cook had a tattoo of a crow on the inside of his arm--the same kind of decoration that the fearsome Areani have to show their allegiance to Lenfald's enemies the Loreesi— that this was going to be one bloody fight, perhaps the Captain's last. So he didn’t wait, and threw the pot at him as hard as he could, catching the spy in the ribs. That should have doubled him over, but the desert-dweller barely noticed it. He produced a curved Loreesi dagger from inside his shirt and a second knife and attacked with both, while Tavish grabbed a kitchen knife and jar of seeds, and the two went at each other with full force. The jar wound up shattered as it absorbed a crushing blow from the dagger, and Tavish gave him a brutal slash across the shoulder, which again the Areani barely seemed to notice. In the flurry, the archer had sustained four bloody cuts from the spy and knew he wouldn’t last long against this seemingly inhuman opponent. Then the Areani reacted to something over Tavish’s shoulder and a jar came flying out of nowhere and hit the spy in the head, shooting flour everywhere, clouding up the air. Sir Caelan Munro suddenly appeared and dashed by the Captain, attacking the cook with a meat cleaver. The sight would have been hilarious if it weren't for the circumstances of their opponent being a deadly Loreesi agent. Even dazed the Areani fought like a lion until Tavish grabbed a small iron pot and slammed it into the side of his head. Still the spy stood, but wavered. The temporary lull in the action allowed the sound of the bubbling pot to come through, and both Sir Caelan and Tavish simultaneously had the same idea, grabbing the spy by the arms and shoving him toward the fire. They forcefully pushed the Areani's head down into what turned out to be a lovely pea soup, now at full boil. The spy struggled mightily as he burned, but both his opponents held on until he went limp. “We need to question him, I think,” Caelan barely managed and finally Tavish relented, letting the man fall to the floor with horrendous second-degree burns now all over his head and face, also covered in a slimy green. The two friends stood huffing from their exertion until Baron Munro finally blurted, “You left just when the Duke was getting interesting…” "I doubt that very much." Tavish stumbled to the window and cursed. “The blighter must have shot right over the outer wall. Jig’s up now; whatever was on that note is long gone.” Just then the same two guards who had stopped the Captain earlier now slammed into the kitchen. They took in the Areani, the mess, and the two hurt cooks to their left and looked furiously at them. Sir Caelan only waved at the spy on the floor and by way of explanation stated indignantly, “He ruined the soup.” Two days later, a man dressed in fine red clothing stood on a tower of the King’s Castle, and held out his arm expectantly. A bird came down swiftly and alighted on his arm, and he gently caressed the falcon. He then unfastened the message tied to its leg and began reading carefully. His brow furrowed slightly after reading a few lines; then a calmness came over him. He looked towards the vast horizon and paused to consider everything that had taken place in the last few weeks. Then Loreesi Prince Jarius tucked the message into his pocket and, carrying the bird with him, walked purposely towards the stairs of the tower. ------------------------- Hope you like the build and story; comments are welcome! -
My old Wolfpack project finally can be implemented! I`m thinking about creating three of four chapters. Accordingly you will see three or four MOCs. Rebellion of Wolfpack: Chapter I by balthazar_, on Flickr Chapter I. 'Into the woods'. Three strangers in hoods were going along the path, quietly stepping on the leaves. They were extremely cautious: since rebels` last raid on a weapons convoy, feudal lords of nearby lands announced a great reward for their heads. Now the troops of knights were combing the woods in search of the rebels. But Wolves (as they called themselves) had never been caught until last night. About dozen of them were prisoned and then executed. To save the rebellion, rebels leader Thomas Stafford gathered all Wolves in abandoned mill on the edge of the forest, where strangers were keeping the way too... To be continued. Thanks for watching! Dear Eurobricks friends, I've decide to start this topic in order to show you the layout of Falkenstadt, which is my LEGO world. Unfortunately, I don't have the physical space needed to have it set permanently (this layout measures a humble 11 x 4.60 meters), yet, most of it is already built and waiting in containers till I have it. I've been collecting LEGO since I came out of my dark ages, about 10 years ago. During this time, I focused on getting those sets I drooled over in the catalogues of my childhood, MOC building and getting many of the newer sets that appealed to me. I've collected Castle (mostly from the 80's), Classic Space, Classic Town, City, Pirates, modulars and trains. My main goal was to try to combine all this different themes into a single layout and that it would still be "believable" and coherent. During my childhood I did quite a bit of travelling through Europe and the one thing that really stroke me was how some cities managed to keep mostly intact buildings and whole areas of their medieval ages (I'm from Argentina, and the oldest thing here isn't older than the 1700's). Nuremberg, Rothenburg, Prague and Budapest are just some of the examples that struck me most. So, when thinking my layout, I decided to try to combine all the themes and give them a fictional historical frame, defining areas in it that went along with the different time periods, architectural styles and the blending between them. Another thing that was important to me was how to keep relative scale between sets. If you lay a 80's town set just right to a modular, it simply gets dwarfed and looks ridiculous. That's why I also tried had to come up with an intermediate scale which I call "semi modular", which helps with the blending. Most of my MOCs are in that scale. I'll be updating this topic as regularly as I can, taking pictures of the different MOCs for each area or uploading rendered images of those which still haven't been built in real bricks. So, after this brief (????) intro, let's start with the History of Falkenstadt and the general plan of the layout!!! History of Falkenstadt The history of the territory over which today sits Falkenstadt (Falcon's City) is extremely rich and dates back to the seventh century AD. At that time the region was inhabited by barbarian tribes of relatively peaceful character. In 676 AD, a group of Benedictine monks sent by Pope Donus, settles in the area in order to evangelize the barbarians and build the monastery of St. Stud, which's remains, repeatedly rebuilt, today stand in the outside of the city. In the year 890 AD the monastery is attacked by Viking raiders, burnt to the ground and all its occupants are killed. Horrified Pope Stephen VII decided to send a new mission in 930 AD, but this time with the support of King Johan Der Platen, who sends a contingent of knights under the command Knight Of Chevron. This new mission not only reconstructs the monastery, but builds a nearby fort. It is built with limestone from a nearby quarry, characterized by an intense yellow color, so it will be known as the Golden Castle. Around this fort will bloom the first city in the area. The prevailing peace is interrupted again in 960 AD. A new Viking raid, not only destroys the monastery, but also manages to capture the fortress and destroy most of the city. A few people manage to escape to the north and into in the woods. According to chronicles of the time (known as the Monastery of St. Stud Chronicles), among them is a young hunter (a falconer), who in his escape, and after bloody combat with the brutal Viking raiders, manages to free several of the monastery's monks. The chronicles do not mention his full name and just refer to him as Bern The Falconer or simply as "The Falcon" (Der Falke). The group of refugees settles in the forest and from there wage a re-conquest campaign led by Der Falke, harassing the small Viking garrison which had established in the monastery ruins. In 990 AD the now old Der Falke leads his troops into a fierce attack which definitely expels the Viking invaders. Thus began the reconstruction of the Monastery of St. Stud and construction of a new city. It was decided not to use the ruins of the Golden Castle as the superstitious people considered them cursed. Land was then elected to the south of the Monastery of St. Stud, considering them the most suitable. Aware of the re-conquest, King Oleg Der Platen (Johan's son and successor) convenes the septuagenarian Der Falke to his cohort, knights him and gives his family the coat of arms o the black and white eagle over inverted background. Also, he and his successors are appointed as protectors of the Monastery of St. Stud and made lords of the land surrounding it in "an extension of 50 baseplates". Der Falke returns to his new domains and decides to undertake the construction of a fortress at the entrance to the fjord, in order to protect from and prevent future Viking raids. He selects a rocky promontory at the entrance to the fjord which he names Falkenstein (Falcon's Stone), name that will take not only the fortress, but his descendants too. According to the chronicles of the Monastery of St. Stud, Bern Falkenstein dies the night of December 24th 1000 AD, at 80 years of age (age unusual for the time) without seeing finished the fortress he began to build. The location of his grave is unknown, but recent archaeological studies suggest that his remains rest under the main arch of the tower of the fortress of Falkenstein. He is succeeded by his son Ludwig von Falkenstein. Little is known about the Ludwig's mandate, beyond the not at least important fact that he completed the construction of the Falkenstein Fortress and that he fathered twin sons Otto and Gunther von Falkenstein in 1050 DC. On his deathbed, Ludwig calls his offspring and requires them to swear not to fight for his succession. They solemnly swear and Ludwig dies within hours. Gunther and Otto then decided to divide the family domains, swearing loyalty to each other ad eternum. Otto keeps the family's coat of arms and the Fortress of Falkenstein (as well as the title of Protector of the Monastery), while Gunther chooses for himself a new emblem with a winged sea serpent. Despite maintaining the same surname, Gunther is known hereafter as the Black Knight because of the color of his favorite armor. Given his adventurous spirit, Gunther chooses the lands to the east and on the opposite shore of the fjord, which is still unexplored. There he builds his castle, which still exists. The brothers also divide productive tasks. Otto dedicates the work of his servants to agriculture while Gunther is dedicated to livestock. In 1090, to commemorate the feat of the Re-conquest led by his grandfather, Otto formally names the city as Falkenstadt. He instructs to build a large building to officiate as Court and Council Chamber and in front of it he starts building a cathedral. Both buildings are preserved today, serving the first as Parliament. He also builds the first city walls. Of them, the only remaining section is Falcon's Tower, now recycled and transformed into a train station. The region will undergo a period of peace and prosperity for the next 10 years. But in 1100 everything will change. The grandson of King Oleg Der Platen, Olaf II, decides to ignore the land titles given to the Falkenstein family and requires Otto and Gunther to pay exorbitant taxes. They both refuse and Olaf II invades the region and sets city of Falkenstadt under siege. Before this takes place, Otto and Gunther manage to retreat to their respective strongholds. The siege of Falkenstadt lasts two years until in 1102 eventually falls, victim to famine and plague. The population is reduced to a few hundred, who are expelled from the city. Most of these refugees, like their ancestors, seek shelter and subsistence means in the forests north of the Fortress of Falkenstein. A small group, led by Hans Wolf will settles in a former guardhouse and begins a guerrilla war against the invader. The group will be called the Wolfpack. For the next 20 years the area will witness countless battles between the royalist troops of Olaf II and the coalition of Otto, Gunther, the Wolfpack and the People of the Forest. During this period the current city gates erected as part of a new defensive system. This is why they still bear the Lion's Coat of Arms, as a reminder of the presence of the invader. Olaf II also builds a fortress on the northwestern edge (to ensure his supply chain) and a new bridge over the River Schön (both still remain). By 1124 the Coalition has managed to besiege the royalist troops behind the walls of Falkenstadt. This siege will last one year, until finally the city falls after a fierce assault led by Otto Von Falkenstein. During the assault and having already freed nearly all of the city, Otto found his death when struck by an arrow fired from the tower of the City Council (where his statue now stands). Otto dies without heirs and without seeing the completion of the Cathedral and is buried on the spot where he fell. After the Otto's death, the population asks Gunther to assume the mandate on all family land and in a strange fact for the time, proclaim him King. Gunther is crowned in the unfinished Cathedral on December 3, 1126 and establishes his throne in the ancient fortress of Falkenstein. His reign, however, did not last long. In 1135, he dies at age 85, leaving as legacy the foundations of a legal system and having completed the Cathedral's construction. His remains rest in the south chapel of it. Whit this the Chronicles of the Monastery of St. Stud come to their end. For the next 500 years, the city will enjoy peace and prosperity until in 1652 it is ravaged by British pirate raids. Significant events of this period include the construction of the El Dorado Fortress on the opposite side of the fjord in 1690, which worked in conjunction with the Falkenstein Castle and the Black Fortress guarding the entrance to the fjord and therefore the port of the city. From this period a small pirate base on an island at the entrance of the fjord still remains. Of this period is also the museum ship now anchored near El Dorado Fortress. In 1860, with the emergence of larger vessels, it was decided to move the port to the north shore of the fjord, as this has deeper waters. Over the next 20 years, the transfer of goods between the two sides of the fjord (from the New Port to the Old Port) will be done in barges. Aware of the complications of this method (impossibility to make the crossing during storms, delays and its inherent danger), King Grunwald III instructs the engineer Gustave Studffeil the design and construction of a bridge to ease the crossing of the fjord. However, it must continue to allow the entry of vessels to it. Studffeil chooses the narrowest point of the fjord and designs a revolutionary piece for its time. He proposes an elevating bridge with two sections, controlled and managed from an tower set on an artificial island. This tower, in turn, complements Meinhard's lighthouse, built in 1765 at the entrance to the fjord. Despite receiving criticism and having his ideas laughed at, he begins construction of the bridge, which is finished in record time and inaugurated on 16 November 1886. To this day, the Bridge of Grunwald, as is known, remains in operation. During the decades of 1870-1890 many of the most emblematic buildings of the city are also built. Unfortunately, few of them remain, as bombings suffered by the city during Second World War , wiped out most of them. However, half a block remains almost intact near the Lion's Gate and the now abandoned (and according to many haunted) Grand Hotel opposite the apse of the Cathedral. During this period the village of Schneedorf, atop mount Weißen Berg is also erected. In 1898, Manfred II, Grunwald III's successor acquires the first steam locomotive and lays the first railways in the region. This locomotive is now located in the front yard of the Central Station. In 1905, seeing the potential of trains as transportation and cargo means, commands his engineers to build two workshops in the northern part of the New Port to serve for the manufacture and maintenance of locomotives. He also instructs the already old Studffeil the construction of a railway bridge over the fjord. From these workshops, on May 14th 1920, will roll the Emerald Night, iconic locomotive that even today still runs (only tourism purposes). By this time is also built the Central Railway Station, the first movie theater that is still preserved and the Municipality of the city. The Kingdom of Falkenstein will remain on the sidelines of the First World War. However, it cannot remain neutral during World War II. It will first be invaded by Germany and by the Soviets later. The King Carsten I will be deposed and imprisoned. Large sections of the city will be demolished by bombings (including almost all of the old walls and many large buildings constructed during the second half of the nineteenth century). However, by 1945, after waging a guerrilla war, the kingdom regains its independence. In memory of those unsung heroes today stands a monument in the Central Station Park. After the war and during the 50s the city was rebuilt. The wealthiest families choose to move to the outskirts of the old ruins of the Golden Castle. This area of the city is known as Goldorf. During the 60s the new Central Hospital and the Airport are constructed (the city formerly had only an airfield) and railways extended to link the different sectors of the city. The remains of the Old Port are also recycled and converted into a yacht club. Also, during this period, the first goals of the Space Program are achieved, when astronaut Neil Studstrong sets foot on the moon and pronounces his famous words "just a stud for minifgs, but a giant leap for minifigkind". This Space program continues till today, with permanent bases on the moon's surface. In 1990 and as part of the celebrations of Falkenstadt's Millennium a new railway station near the airport and the Otto von Falkenstein National Stadium are built. In 2010 a monorail line that connects the city center with the airport and Goldorf opens. At present, the Kingdom of Falkenstein, with its capital at Falkenstadt, has as form of government a constitutional monarchy. Its economy is based mostly on trade through its thriving port, agriculture and livestock. Another important source of income is provided by the always present tourist activity, given the rich history of the city. The Layout: Sector A: This is the Castle area of the layout. The idea is to have this table detachable, in order to play with this layout in a different time period. In the northern plains beyond the elven cities, lies the human city-stronghold of Der Golad. Ruled by its wise king, the city serves as a human enclave in the north and as protection against the evil schemes and machinations of the Dragon King and his henchmen. The king, blood related to the mighty Emperor, has witnessed the utter destruction of the elven cities by the Dragon King and his monstrous army, who has steamrolled thru all that opposes him, aided by fearless armored uruks, giant trolls, dragons and evil potentate warlocks. Sending word to the Emperor, the people of Der Golad prepare for the great siege that will come as part of the Dragon King's campaign to ensnare the North into his power. But Der Golad's walls are impregnable, they possess the finest archers of the north, and every citizen has taken arms to defend their city and livelihood. A mercenary company, led by Kara the Amazon and Rustius have come forth to fight for the King of Der Golad, albeit for the right price. Time is running short, and allies are in scattered in the wind. Manticore Last Stand of the Salamanders (WZ6:B7) For the Desert King! Having been summoned by the Desert King, the Great Manitcore travels north to help with securing the Northern corridor. The Salamanders are no longer safe behind the gates of Northwall with the manticore easily scaling the battlements and tossing down the cowering Ulandians to the Desert King’s troupes waiting below. The whole thing: The manticore didn't turn out quite as well as I had hoped - his face is certainly a little odd, but I was running low on time and started smushing pieces together hoping that they would stay in place, lol. This is my second entry in this universe I have devised :D The Rivergate - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/98977 Phantasy Realms The set This set is composed of a fortress like sturcture built over a river. The gates open to let the boat cross but the gates can also close trapping the unaware travellers inside. Four trapdoors open to let the captives be taken or they can also work as traps if someone invades the fortress - making the figures fall into the river. The story In order to protect the entrance to their capital city - Rainbow's End - the Wizards of Colour with the help of dwarven engineers raised a mighty fortress over the Tears of the Peak River, the only way into the magical valley where fairies and wizards dwell, among many other fantastic creatures. The wizards bought a mighty power crystal from the dwarves and draw power from the magical stone in order to activate the fortress' magical defenses. A group of sentinels dares to approach the Rivergate. They bring bad tidings... but Wizards and Elves are very suspicious of each other since the Magik Wars - a very old and long conflict between each other. Will they be able to cross the rivergate or will they fall prey to the wizard's magical trap? The Elven cities of the Northwest burn. The Elven Queen has regrouped and entrenched on the Forest Keep. Assesing her remaining troops, she receives notice that the Emperor is marching with a huge army to meet the Dragon King, who is besieging the Human city of Der-Golad. Bringing forth three battalions of her best troops (those who remain anyway), she will ride with the Emperor and his allies to stop the Dragon King and his forces. Her daughter stays behind with the keep's garrison and Eagles. Im finished building the elves and dwarves. I'm building two more batallions of Emperor's troops and a few Goblin Kings to use as shock troops for the Dragon King's army (11 in total plus 2 dragons).

Hi Everyone, I would like to present a recent project: "Dunehill Castle". Dunehill Castle is located in the northwest of the Siccus desert in Kaliphlin. The castle's guards have sworn to protect caravan routes through the desert against rogues and robber bands. Major Sirius Artanc leads his men into battle (if need be). You can find Sirius on the fourth picture, on the right. The idea to "Dunehill Castle" was threefold: First to create a cubic castle (similar to Coltherstone Castle Keep by frumpy), secondly to avoid my usual light grey/dark grey slopes but to use tan/dark tan for the rocky bits, thirdly to try some decent glass windows. And fourthly I needed to add a monkey because many people have asked me where my "iconic figures" have disappeared. So, let us move to the glass windows: I don't know whether you are familiar with "La Sagrada Familia" in Barcelona. I saw it a few months ago and was overwhelmed by the colours and lights. So this is why I used a red/orange and a blue window for the castle. .. and I have used all light grey legs I could find I hope you like this and I am awaiting your feedback! Hey all!! My first post! Quick background, born in 84. Have all the classic Pirates and Castle. Separated from active duty last year. Bought new house, mom sends old legos. It starts a fire and I'm creating again. 2 kids and they are loving the creations. So here is the Castle I have made. It's 34x32 (studs) and house the new blue lion Knights. HERE is the Flickr Link!

Here are some pics from my FABULAND Castle display at Brickworld Ft. Wayne last weekend. I hope to continue to expand on this display for Chicago. It was amusing to me how many kids were offended or "creeped out" by the FABULAND figs. Or, as they put it, "those weird animal people." A slight majority of people wanted to know what it was. Sometimes they meant, "Where did the figures come from?" Some asked if they were Mega-Blok. But, I was surprised by how many people expected it to be something. And this is true of all displays I've brought to conventions. If it's not an instantly recognizable license or theme, people need to know what it is I'm representing. There's little room for new, imaginative creations in some people's world views. Well, enjoy and please feel free to leave feedback. Thanks.

My build for Round 6 of The Tourney at MOCpages. I chose to build a section of the city Harfleur, with Henry V making his triumphant entry after the town's surrender. The city's walls, towers, and houses, have all sustained damage from the siege. The only buildings set square to the base are the red house, and two small sections of the wall. Wade through danger Side Back That's MY treasure Side Microscale is really fun since you can build huge scenes with only 1/10th of the pieces! Description: Mithlond or the Gray Havens The Grey Havens was founded at the beginning of the Second Age by the surviving Elves of Beleriand, those who chose to remain on Middle-earth after the wars against Morgoth. It was afterwards used by the Elves to leave Middle-earth for Valinor. The Grey Havens was part of Lindon, the kingdom directly ruled by Gil-galad, last High King of the Ñoldor in Middle-earth. It was also one of the main sources for the Elven fleet of ships that sailed back and forth between Númenor and Eldamar in Aman. According to the map of Middle-earth Grey Havens's anchorage is divided into the Harlond (the "south-haven") and the Forlond ("north-haven") which occupy the southern and northern banks, respectively, of the River Lune. Because of its cultural and spiritual importance to the Elves, the Grey Havens in time became the primary Elven settlement west of the Misty Mountains prior to the establishment of Eregion and, later, Rivendell. Even after the death of Gil-galad and as the Elves dwindled in numbers by the year, The Grey Havens remained a focal point of the history in the northern part of Middle-earth. Third Age and beyondCírdan the Shipwright was the master of the Havens since its founding; Galdor of the Havens, his messenger, was among the Grey Haven's known inhabitants. Aside from Elves, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins also went to Valinor from the Grey Havens, and a family tradition held that Sam Gamgee (having been himself a Ring-bearer, albeit briefly) did likewise, in the year 1484 of the Shire Reckoning. (Fourth Age 61) The Grey Havens still existed into the Fourth Age under Círdan but its population declined as did the elven presence in Middle-earth. It is unclear just what the Fate of the Elves of Middle-earth was in the early Fourth Age and how long Círdan or his remaining folk dwelled at the Havens and continued to build the great ships that carried the Elves to the Blessed Realm. The set: Basically I decided to portray in several mosaics the voyage of the elves to the grey havens - showing the ships sailing in sunny days, through storms, into the sunset, etc... The gate is a very tall one but it is firmly put together with the use of several plates along. Hey! At a small river lies General "sir" Cedric fortress Wilton Castle, the castle has not been involved in significant contention, but was one of the first fortresses built by the Lion Clan. People also seek out happily to the castle to fish in the river, and maybe even look at the beautiful view from the main tower. Hi All, Coltherstone Castle is complete! After 10 months of building the 12 sections I've finally finished. I've really enjoyed building this castle which is my 3rd MOC (or my 3rd through to 14th if we count individual sections). Probably the most challenging part was building the stain glass windows on the keep as I redid these several times before I was happy. For those of you who haven't been following, the sections (in build order) are: 1. Barracks 2. Blacksmith (Corner) 3. Town Square 4. Archery 5. Royal Gardens (Corner) 6. Keep 7. Dock (Corner) 8. Stables 9. Houses 10. Gatehouse 11. Tavern (Corner) 12. Warehouse I'd like to thank everyone who has followed this build and provided feedback and comments along the way. For any Australians wanting to see this in the brick I will be displaying at Sydney Brick Show April 18-19. In terms of what's next for me I'll be focusing on work and a big university assignment for the next month.
