  1. Four years ago, in this galaxy (as opposed to that one far, far, away ), I made a model in LEGO Digital Designer called the MX-2 Rover. Shortly thereafter, I ordered the pieces to build it via LEGO's ill-fated Design byME program. This year, the realization hit me (like an asteroid crashing into an uninhabited planet ) that the steering mechanism was too weakly mounted to the chassis. So, I made several attempts to rebuild the chassis, eventually starting the entire model over from scratch in LDD. Even the shuttle on the back got a revamp. When I felt my design was satisfactory, I took apart the old rover, ordered the additional pieces I needed from Pick A Brick and BrickLink, and built them into... MX-2 Rover - eXtreme eXpedition Edition Now there is suspension on all six wheels and a folding communications dish that is independent from the steering mechanism (on the old model, it was connected to the steering). I also added glow-in-the-dark headlights in the front. Click (or tap, if you're using a touchscreen-enabled device) any picture to see a larger one. Headlights aglow! That gear on the back controls the steering. Here you can see the suspension in action. In addition, the communications dish has been unfolded, rotated, and aimed skyward. The shuttle has been detached from the rover and is "flying" on clear bricks. Browse the Brickshelf gallery, or download the LDD file. This model was designed by Toa Of Justice.
  2. can someone clarify if brick #64230 aka "spiral tube w. tube stud" aka "hose flexible 8.5L without tabs" (in real LEGO sets it is numbered "73590c01a" http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=73590c01a) is actualy realy interpreted as #64230 during export from LDD? What I mean is that when I try to export it from LDD to .ldr it simply isn't there at all although I did edit ldraw.xml in LDD directory to implement it...and yes, my added one line script is implemented ok cos if I change 64230 for anything else it works like a charm. Simply to me it looks like real internal interpretation of the brick inside LDD is different than it should be, it is "64230" - can anyone test it, please? cos I am like completely mad about it now...
  3. For attending my duty („ ... you must (if you win) share how you did the render…”) I prepared some comments on my entry for the rendering contest. Hope these comments will inspire you to create and poste some more nice renderings or even will encourage you to engage with rendering. Superkalle proposed to open a new topic fort his. So please feel free to poste further questions/comments/remarks here. I would highly appreciate if other participants in the rendering contest would poste some tips regarding their entries here too. 5. Welcome! Welcome to the 2014 Eurobricks Digital Contest for Ldraw and LDD tools. This years theme is to create your LEGO dream home; build any kind of building or construction that you'd like to live in - house, cottage, bioshpere, tree house... Categories First category: Free build The first category is a free-build category. Build whatever you like, as long as it is a home or special place or building you'd like to live: mansion, beach villa, tree house, biosphere...? You don't have to build a modular (you may do of course). Although it's possible to use all brick/color combinations, please don't do that. We don't check all the entries and it certainly is not a problem if you got a few slopes and bricks in some colors that don't exist, but don't make a full chrome-gold wall or a big fabuland-brown floor. We will disqualify entries that go too wild with the colors. Although you may build as big as you like, it would be nice to keep it within 100x100 studs. Minfigs are allowed. Second category: Micro build Don't have the time or skills to build a big house? Or maybe you don't like building big at all. Don't worry, you can enter in the second category. In this category, you have to build something in micro-scale. The maximum size allowed in the contest is 30x30 studs. Once again - the challenge is to build your dream home, so it's doesn't have to be a skyscraper like so many other Architecture buildings. But don't build in minifig scale...build in micro scale in this class. Minifigs not allowed. Third category: Rendering Since this is a digital contest, we have a special category for the best rendering. The theme is still "build your dream home". You can enter with either a MOC you made for Free or Micro class, or another one (as long as it is a home). This class will be judged on the rendering. You can chose whatever rendering approach you want: spaced out, ultra realistic rendering, rending with special lighting..... Prizes (special thanks to our friends at TLG!!) Free build category prize The first prize is an amazing 10243 Parisian Restaurant The second prize is the cool 31012 Family House Micro build category prize The first prize is the great 21014 Villa Savoye Rendering category prize The LDD Team has made a special prize available to us - three digital bricks to be added to the next LDD update. The winner of the rendering contest will be able to chose one of those bricks or choose an SR3D Builder license. The LDD brick can be a new or legacy bricks, as long as it's in-line with the other bricks in LDD. This means no odd Fabuland hear or so - the brick has to give meaning to other builders. But it can be a special and rare brick, that's no problem - the winner decides. Once the brick has been chosen, it will be added for the next update to LDD (which as you know may take several months). OR SR 3D Builder Registration Code (thanks Sergio!) Judges special prize The other two digital bricks will be awarded by legolijntje and Superkalle as "judges prizes" to some especially innovative entries that push the boundaries for using digital building, either by itself or together with physical building Rules Of course there are also some rules. Please read them carefully so you don't make any mistakes. Deadline All entries should be submitted in the entry topic before April 15th at 24.00 GMT. Make sure your entry is legit and according to the contest rules. General rules You may build your model using LDD or an LDraw based program, such as SR3D Builder, MLcad, LeoCad or BrickSmith. The contest is open to all EuroBricks members (also new members). Staff is not allowed to participate. You model should be new and never posted before anywhere on the internet. Use of custom parts is not allowed. Use of custom decals is allowed. Although it's possible to use all brick/color combinations, please try to don't do that. The model has to be physically buildable, so no floating bricks and such. Only 1 home/house per person per category. Entries One entry per member per class. You may enter one MOC in each of thee three classes (free build, microscale and rendering) Entries are to be placed in the correct entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the correct entry topic are not eligible for voting. You may create a separate topic for your creation in the specific theme forum (i.e not in the Digital Design forum), but you should also place your entry in the entry topic. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. Entries are to consist of no more than 6 posted pictures of 800x600 or smaller resolution (rendering contest only 1 picture). You may link to higher resolutions of course. A little Photoshop is allowed for the picture, but only white balance, background editing etc. (except for the rendering category). The model itself should remain unchanged. You must share your digital file in the free build and micro-scale class. This is both to allow other people do judge your digital techniques when voting, but also to share in the spirit of the community. You don't have to share the file in the rendering class. On the other hand, in the rendering class, you must (if you win) share how you did the render (it doesn't have to be a detailed guide, but some tips and tricks at least). We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. Free Build class rules You may build whatever you want, as long as it is some sort of house, building or construction where you'd like to live. There is no size limit, but it would be nice if you could keep it within 100x100 studs. Micro Build class rules You may build whatever you want, as long as it is some sort of house, building or construction where you'd like to live. Maximum size is 30x30 studs. Keep it micro, don't make something for minifigs. Think along the lines of the Architecture models (or smaller). Rendering class rules You may use any technique or tools you want, as long as it's based on LDD or Ldraw. You may not Photoshop the render (i.e. add lighting streaks or other post processing touch-ups). You may however re-size, downscale or sharpen the image and similar. You entry consists of 1 picture. Voting After the contest has closed, we will gather all entries and we will open a public voting topic - one for the micro and one for the free-build. Rendering will be chosen by EB staff Voting details will be shared when the voting starts. Only member that were members at the date the contest started are eligible to vote. Staff members are also allowed to vote. More information will be shared when the voting starts.
  6. Hi there, my first post - I hope I don't make mistakes :) My problem: we would like to build a train station in LDD and need an old decorated brick and tile for the ticket machine: - tile, decorated 1 x 2 3070bp06: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3070bp06 - brick, decorated 1 x 2 3004pc0: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/3004pc0 I would appreciate a solution very much and would like to thank with a small coupon - if that's okay. Kind regards, Happy Brixx
  7. Hello to all another replica of a Portuguese train , it is a suburban train passengers. Wide 7 , very long , each carriage has approximately 50 studs length. I tried to catch the most characteristic details , the cockpit has a lot of work , but I liked the result. unfortunately given the price of the windows and doors will not build bricks . this is also my farewell as builder trains will go on hiatus this " branch " indefinitely. The reason is that it is becoming too expensive to build train to my current financial capacity , another is lack of space at home to expose them , I have all trains boxed and only see the light of day when they go exhibitions . I've had 4 front pages and it gave me great motivation not to stop :) but at this point I have to slow down a bit , I will continue to build the smallest things , but I promise to always keep the same quality and style that always had . thank you all :) BIG Size image: http://farm8.staticf...733617dab_o.png
  8. I thought I'd share a project I'd been working on for a while! This is a Ninjago-themed Advent Calendar I designed to put on Lego Cuusoo. I put a lot of work into designing a variety of small and interesting models based on the theme. I did my best to make it with the same sort of constraints as the other Lego Advent Calendars. It has a similar part count, no new molds, and a limited number of recolored parts and new prints. Each model is simple and small in scale, and I took efforts to make sure that there was plenty of play value from the first model onward. I'll link to my pictures on Flickr, since I've already given them detailed descriptions there. Also, if you would like to see this as a set, I encourage you to support it on Cuusoo! LDD Moc Blake's 7 Scorpio Spaceship

Hi, over the last two years I have been designing a new Lego spaceship in LDD 4.3, the Lego model is based on Scorpio from Blake's 7 which was a British Science Fiction series which ran from 1978 to 1981, due to the limits of Lego It is a 80 % accurate, the roof lifts off to reveal the hidden flight deck. The model is 163 studs long, 70 studs wide, 42 studs high ( 50 inches long, 22 inches wide, 12 inches high ), and has 11,981 pieces of Lego Currently redesigning the LDD Lego Scorpio Model to use less slopes and more SNOT Techniques. 10. Hello Eurobrickers, I would like to present to you my entry for the Contest: Free Build. I have entered it in the entry topic, this one is just for C+C enjoy! It is a 32 x 48 modular building as my dream house would be to live in a LEGO city, much like Emmet... But this house could also exist in the real world. I chose a modular because I like living in the city, although I enjoy living in a house at the moment, I think I would enjoy living in a more populated area with lots of buildings around. Anyway, enough chatter, here's some pictures. (Please excuse some pictures are rendered and some are not, the picture of the middle floor is taking forever) So here it is! There are only a handful of bricks that are either really expensive on Bricklink or that aren't made, but they are easily replaced with a similar colour should I ever have the money to brick build it. I have also taken a couple of short cuts with the floors but i was just being lazy, they would just need a bit of reinforcement and maybe a few different size plates to make in real bricks. Features here are the verandah on the bottom floor to sit on and watch the world pass by and the balcony on the top floor for a similar purpose from a bird's eye view. And the back, featuring a back garden for my cats (you may notice lots of cats, I love cats and my dream home would involve lots of them), a small swimming pool and a nice tree to take shade under for outdoor dining. Left: This is the kitchen, plenty of bench space and a very big fridge, I like food although you have to be careful when using the top right hob, sometimes the curtain catches on fire Right: This is the living room with a cosy fireplace and two large comfy couches. Here is the best part of the house, the whole middle floor is a dedicated LEGO room. As you can see, there is a large train/city layout. I have tried to include as many sets as possible including three train sets, 4 creator houses, 5 modulars, and many more classic sets which may be harder to figure out but anyway, you get the idea There is also a building table next to the chimney, this has a lamp of course as well draws containing all the spare parts and it seems my minifig self is working on a purple modular which is seen in The LEGO Movie. Also there is a table tennis table, but I stole its design from the Fire Brigade modular, I just really like table tennis! And finally, this is the top floor, which contains the bedroom and bathroom (out of picture on the bottom left) and the TV room with another cosy fireplace and a couple of bean bags to sink into and watch my fav shows Also this is the floor from which the balcony is accessible. There's a photo of the bed and bathroom on my flickr account, as well as non-rendered versions of everything. LXF File: available on the entry topic! Anyway, I hope you like it and good luck to all contest entries, I really enjoyed building this and now I have a blue print for my dream home Cheers, Tim.

LDD MOCs - Doctor Who TARDIS Collection

Here once again to show off what I've been doing recently with LDD: I updated my TARDIS models because they still seemed too big to be truly minifig-scale. This time, I took cues from the models built by Mark Stafford over on MOCPages and this approach works better, even though the models do not have opening doors this go-round. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Comments/suggestions welcome. LXF coming later this evening ;)
  12. This model is dedicated to my father, who, through thick & thin, never gave up on me. He has inspired me, challenged me, and helped me become who I am today. This model was created by my father as gift to me in 2004. It is a representation of a diesel, and was created before he had discovered Bricklink. The base plate is the only incorrect part, as it should have 10 pin holes instead of 6 like this one does. Sadly, as I grew older, I decided I didn't like the model anymore, so I tore it apart around 2007. About 6 years later I realized my mistake, and am currently trying to rebuild it. This is my own modern interpretation of the model. I made it stronger, cleaner, and more pleasing to the eye. But if you look at the side vent work, you will see what inspired me: that 2004 MOC by my Dad. Here they are together, so you can compare them. LDD file: http://www.mocpages....1396963872m.lxf Comments, Questions, & Complaints welcome!
  13. [pid][/pid] LDD/MLCad 12A I just started using LEGO Digital Designer and wanted to try to make something new but with some classic touches. I started by trying my hand at creating an updated version of 6274: Caribbean Clipper using modern methods and parts. I wouldn't consider this "original work" per se as it's more a modification of several different parts of other ships than anything else But I think the result is nice and thought I'd share. The components of the ship include: Most of the bow and shortened hull of the 10210: Imperial Flagship Modified rudder and masts from 4195: Queen Anne's Revenge The cabin from 4184: The Black Pearl Obviously, I've also made color changes here and there and for the sake of getting some sort of a representation of sails - I've "borrowed" the sails from BBQQQ's LDD Pirate Ship Sail Parts (Brick-Built) post. Here are a few pics... The main view: Front view: Rear view: Deck and Top of Bow: UPDATE: I've updated the pictures above and am adding the download for the .lxf.

    [LDD Contest] Chateau 'Sans-Nuage-sur-Maine'

A Dream Home A dream – maybe a bit of a weird dream... Imagine – What would you do if you were eccentric and rich? Maybe you would have an inflatable beverage-providing shark... next to a bar... inside a pool... inside an aquarium... inside a vintage french chateau. And more eccentric stuff. This is my entry for the Digital Design Contest 'Build your dream home'. Chateau 'Sans-Nuage-sur-Maine' is a model I constructed over the last two years, whenever I grew sick of ship building. It's loosely based on famous french chateaus 'Fontainebleau' and 'Vaux-le-Vicomte'. It has a long history and is strongly tied to a maritime tradition of previous generations, as you will see from some details on the inside. The new owner, however, is only partially respecting this heritage, and prefers to do things a little differently... As you will notice from the inside of the remaining (west)wing, the chateau is depicted as a construction site. This is simply to save bricks and be able to show some kind of detailing. Originally it had both wings intact, but no interior whatsoever. Tearing one wing down was a trick, giving me the opportunity to gain roughly 8000 pieces to invest in details. But they were quickly used up. So I made the rest look like a construction site, which makes sense, since a truly eccentric person would, well, screw convention and reside as he pleases But even with only one wing the chateau offers enough space for all kinds of personal projects. In it's current state, however, it hardly features any living facilities, but what the heck, it's already good enough to party! The scene shows the morning after a party, hence there are empty bottles everywhere, there's stuff thrown into the pool, for some reason a pizza on the roof, someone's clearly been messing with the statue... aaand the rider's golden grand sword went missing... I wanted to include minifigs, all hung over and the like, but unfortunately lacked the time to do so. Pictures (click for high resolution, or visit mybrickshelf): Front view, showing the main entrance. Back view, showing the large terrace and the entrance to the garden. Detailed view from behind the fountain (render took too long to be added to the contest post, so it'll be here only). Detailed shot of the pool/aquarium/party area. Detailed shot of the main entrance, including 'APPC' (tank tracks 'borrowed' from Sunder's 'Heavy Tank Centurion III'). View inside the dome. Some more screenshots: Another view into the dome (if built, the outer dome structure could be removed). Another shot of the eastwing, including a chillout area (someone forgot his/her pants...), and if you look closely you'll spot some fish inside the aquarium. Here's a random cut through the westwing, revealing... it's under contruction . Some highlights: model consists of almost 40 thousand bricks (can't open it any longer with 'outlines on bricks'), there's a huge garage with lots of space for dream cars and other vehicles, you definitely want to own an 'APPC': Armoured Party Personnel Carrier', equipped with... lots of fun (and fits into the garage), pool contains brick-built 'water' to place minifigs or other stuff in/on it for a decent pool party, chandelier is made of 300 parts, ship model is made of 270 parts, if you are familiar with 'Grand Theft Auto', you'll find it logic to find a certain item in a certain place, if you like pirates, you'll find it logic to find something hidden in a particular part of the chateau, there are stories of a terrible crime that occurred some generations before... could they be true? Although not all bricks are connected according to LDD logic, I'm sure everything is physically buildable. Here's the LXF-file for download. Please queck it out, there's secrets and gimmicks waiting to be discovered! Due to the size of the file you might want to adjust your LDD display quality settings. C&C welcome! Regards
  15. Hi all, sorry, if posting in the wrong subforum - didn't found anything else which sounds better suited... but please do not hesitate to point me to the right forum or topic - thanks a lot! my problem: If i load an lxf-file into LDD 4.3 (e.g. this MOC http://www.eurobrick...opic=90485&st=0) and if i step through the model in the instruction mode then LDD crashes after about 250 steps.... Anybody out there with a solution or workaround? Thank you in advance. BR

  18. Hello guys! As some of you may know, I am a fellow architecture fan and I do achieve architectural study. So it is somehow following this idea that I made my dream house. I'm just warning you it is going to be lets say not a conventionnal way to present a project. I may precise a Lego project. Architects sometimes use posters to show their realization and for this one I really want you to feel and understand my reflexion. It is somehow part of the realism of the project. There are many thing I don't like in our way we build and think houses. I do believe there is many waste of space. Is that roof section really useful for you? Do you want everyone to see inside your house from the street? Also, one teacher I had make me realize that the first thing you usually see when looking at a house is a big white garage door... Seriously... I won't comment. Residential architecture have always been a chaotic setup, because everybody makes what they want and, of course, because there is some "gaps" in the urbanism rules. Many similar projects have been already realize and I am aware that this situation is more notable here in North America than in Europe. The way us, american, deal with the territory is really different than anywhere else. Density is the key! Okay back to Lego So first you will look at three posters that explains and show the projects and finally you will see more close up of my dream houses. Please enjoy. 19. EDIT: Added a flying car. Because I can. Welcome to: It's All Fantabulous With Lego! The most Lego friendly house in the world! WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY. Here it is! There's me, with RoButler, BargainBot and TechnoDuster, my personal robots and my Lego tree in the background. Here's an overview of the house, with my flying car swooshing in. This small perch is where BargainBot uses the radar to search for any sales or deals on Lego in the country, coz who doesn't love a bargain?! On the roof is a spacious swimming pool complete with relaxing float and rubber ducky! (this house is located somewhere hot, not Wales!) RoButler has his work cut out as he hands me some tasty treats. When we move inside the house, downstairs, is a stash of money used by BargainBot to buy Lego sets on sale. This money is guarded by lasers. Here's the lounge area, with a fold up TV, a red couch, a table and chair for Lego building, a couple of models on display, and a hard-to-see-from-this-angle plaque reading 'LEGO'. When you walk in, these handy automatic shoe cleaners will make your footwear shine. In the hallway is a few more models on display, such as this plane... And this London bus and starfighter! In the kitchen, there's a fridge, oven, and an endless supply of chicken. I love chicken. Mmmmmm. Moving to the upstairs of It's All Fantabulous, we have a luxury balcony. This is the computer room, for all my Eurobricking, Flickring, Bricksetting, and so on, and a another plaque that reads 'LEGO'. There's also my Blacktron display in here. Wish I really had some Blacktron. Here's my cosy bedroom with a self making bed and a few more models on display. In the landing, TechnoDuster is hard at work dusting my X-wing, Batwing, fire station and tractor models. But there's more. A giant AT-AT and police station hide in the corner. Here is the bathroom, with a toilet, shelving, and one of those all in one soap rinse dry machines. There's also a shower behind the shelves, but I couldn't get a decent photo of it. And here's a close up of my awesome flying car. Turns out TechnoDuster is a pretty good mechanic too! TechnoDuster also installed some very powerful thrusters on the bottom. Wanna see more of It's All Fantabulous? Then check out the LXF File or have a peek at This Flickr Set! That's all of my dream house folks! Please vote for me, it means a lot! Thanks!
  20. Welcome! Welcome to the 2014 Eurobricks Digital Contest for Ldraw and LDD tools. You may enter one MOC in each of thee three classes (free build, microscale and rendering) Entries are to be placed in the correct entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the correct entry topic are not eligible for voting. [LDD Contest] CoMplex 4S

Hi everyone! This is my entry for the LDD/LDraw contest that EB is holding at the moment. This thread is basically everything I said in my entry post, but with more pictures and explanation. This is the CoMplex 4S (CM4S, ), not exactly my dream house, but a very nice house I wouldn't mind living in. My main goal was to give it a very modern look, and I think I did a pretty good job with it. This house comes in 1444 pieces, includes a 'Fancy CM4S' minifigure, and loads of detail everywhere! First off, is my sports car. I tried to give it a modern look, included red leather car seats, to make it look expensive. Also there, is a autumn-time tree, with nice colors and is shaped very nicely. Second, the smallest part of the house, the kitchen. Normal kitchen things, a sink, countertops, drawers, and a fridge with a water/ice dispenser. Up next is the dining room, with a really nice table, some nice chairs, and a small flower pot on the table. Off to the back are a few drawers with silverware. Above the dining room is the bedroom/bathroom. The bedroom has a really cool bed with drawers on each side, with a lamp on top. There's also more drawers, containing clothes. In the bathroom, the usual toilet, sink, and a really cool shower. The last part is the entrance and living room. The living room has a TV with a fireplace underneath, with a couch, plant, and stairs up to the doors of the bathroom/bedroom. On the roof is a chimney (that doesn't connect ) and some solar panels. That's pretty much it! I hope you like this, and vote for it when the contest is over on April 15th. Thanks for looking! If you want to see everything else I didn't mention, feel free to check out this LXF file. (updated) -Sci

    Bank & Money Transfer - 3661 MOD

This building (originally set #3661, Bank & money Transfer) now has a rear staircase and a hinge like in Medieval Market Village. The rear of the model contains a water cooler on the first floor, (with a neat cup dispenser trick) stairs to the upper level, and a expanded Vault on the second story. Also, the skylight has been moved to the rear roof and it does not open anymore. The front section contains nearly the same components as the original set. The first floor has a non-break-away ATM , desk, waiting area, and sorting tray for packages, while the second story contains the entrance to the Bank vault. Here is the outside of the bank. (front view) I added a new rear to the building, something the original model was severely lacking. (The pin is for the hole in the sides opposite the hinge, it keeps the building closed when you want it to be.) The interior of the model. I especially like the cup dispenser on the water cooler. This Bank model will look nice next door to the upcoming CREATOR set #31026, (Cafe & Bike Shop) wouldn't you say?
