    WiP: MOC Fort and Harbour

Hi all, wanted to share my work in progress Fort with Harbour. never done anything like this before but started a couple of months ago after getting the lego out of the loft after 20 years of darkness. As a kid i always wanted a fort and harbour to go with my ships and never had one and rather than buy the Elderado Fortress etc i though i would build my own. I started with bricklinking the 6242 soliders fort as i liked the modular design. I used this as a starting point, extended it a little, then moved onto the fort itself. Now i wanted a raised baseplate but something alittle different and found a grey one cheap :D think its used for the police stations set etc. As i say its work in progress, but starting to get the idea of where its going. Hope you like so far. Sorry if images are a little dark as its all in my loft (away from my wife) and needs a better lighting system
  3. LDD/MLCad 15C Hello pirate lovers! I would like to present you my latest MOC: Peter Pan and Captain Hook's Jolly Roger The set is based on the Disney's animated film. I tried to keep it as close to the original, which wasn't so easy because the ship itself doesn't get that much screen time. The design is mainly based on these two images: I think this could be a great new licensed pirate theme (there is a Peter Pan feature film coming out later this year - www.imdb.com/title/tt3332064/ and it looks right up TLG's alley :) ) If you like, it would mean the world to me if you could support it on: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96285 Thanks!

  6. If you were a pirate stranded on a tiny island with a large, scary shark circling around, and could only have 3 objects with you, what would they be? There are only two correct answers to this question. You would either want a bottle of rum, another bottle of rum, and yet another bottle of rum... or you would want a gun, a bigger gun, and an even bigger gun. (Any combination of these two scenarios will only lead to dangerous pirate behavior and the risk of self-inflicted harm.) Lego set number 1492, "Battle Cove" gives us that three-gun island. Our lonely pirate may be down, but he is most certainly not out - not without a fight, anyway. Number: 1492 Name: Battle Cove Year: 1992 Pieces: 26 Minifigs: 1 Sharks: 1 Price: Unknown Availability: USA Only Informative Links: Brickset Set Entry Bricklink Catalog Entry Peeron Catalog Entry Lugnet Catalog Entry Brickipedia Entry Brickpicker Page Today I am reviewing Lego System polybag set 1492 "Battle Cove". Unfortunately, I do not have the original packaging, but I do have a complete copy otherwise. This is a set I received as a child. As such, I must cite the informative links I have placed above as historical records of this set. Apparently, this set was sold only in the USA, and according to some inventories, this set may have only been sold at certain stores or was perhaps part of some kind of promotion aimed at consumers. At any rate, it would seem that this is one of the rarer sets in the pirate theme. The Unboxing Unbagging A fresh copy of 1492 (image courtesy of BrickLink) Imagine receiving the polybag shown above. What would you do? Why, rip it right open and dump out the contents, of course! Instructions (front) The front of the instructions shows the same image as the bag packaging depicts. We see the entire set, complete with minfig and shark against a nice background and surface. As a hobbyist photographer, I really appreciate these old box/instructions photos. The good people at Lego put a refreshing emphasis on their product art. This set being from 1992, Lego has not yet turned to computer rendered artwork, and someone has put together a nice backdrop and foreground to show off this set. Bravo. Instructions (back / random segment) This image of the instructions back side is for completion. The type of instructions with this polybag set is more of a folded leaflet that has two sides' worth of instruction panels. So the "back side" in this case is really just one of the instruction panes (the first one showing how to put a shark together... and a pirate.) Set contents (sans instructions) Here we have all the pieces in this set laid out. According to set inventories, there are 26 pieces. However, I count 27! I believe the online inventories are counting the shark body and head as one piece, however the instructions show how to connect the head to the body, suggesting that the shark probably came unassembled. But enough of the geeky piece count nitpicking. Instead, let's nitpick the parts we have here! We have a decent assortment of colors here. We have 4 printed pieces. We also have 3 guns (one being a cannon, actually). (There is no rum, however. Rum bottles would not be included in pirate sets until the Pirates of the Caribbean line.) A palm frond is always a welcome addition to any collection. A smattering of light gray elements and two 6 x 6 yellow plates finish up this set's parts. These are nice to have. Printed corner wall element One piece that sticks out in particular is the printed corner wall element. According to online inventories, this element is only in 7 sets produced between 1988 and 1995. And of those 7 sets, this set is the smallest (the other six are all above 160 pieces and mostly castle-themed sets). That might make this set a viable way to acquire this piece, if not for the fact that this set was a USA exclusive. United States issue non-firing Lego cannon One interesting aspect of Lego sets released in the USA is that the cannons do not fire. I had no idea this was abnormal from the rest of the world until I was out of my dark ages. I'm not an expert on this minutae, but I've heard it explained that it was a safety concern. I believe that some copies of pirate sets in 1989 sold in the USA _did_ in fact have the pull-firing cannons at first, until the design was tweaked to have the non-firing type. The interesting thing is that the newer line of pirate sets from 2009 had firing cannons, including copies sold in the USA. The dark gray shark Here we have the set's dark gray shark. Let's be honest here: the shark is the crowning jewel of this set. I think we can all agree on that. (Be sure to cast your vote in the poll at the top of this thread!) The Minifigure The pirate (front, back) It seems that this minfig torso always accompanies this particular head, and it appears in 5 different minifigure permutations across 21 sets (all of them "classic" 80s/90s pirate sets). But in each canonical minifigure, the pants are either white, gray, or black, and the fig also always sports a tricorner hat (albeit black or brown). If not for having black pants instead of light gray, we might have been able to classify this pirate as Rummy, the first mate of the Renegade Runner. (For more pirate naming fun, see this thread). Could this pirate in fact be Rummy with different pants? I'm undecided; share your opinion on this matter by replying to this thread! Regardless, we have here a minfig whose head and torso printing are some of the more detailed in the line. I personally think the face print is one of my all-time favorites. You have an eye patch, scruffy hair, stubble, and a pleasing smile. This is part of what makes classic pirates so memorable. Everyone is happy in classic Legoland, and why not? The torso on this pirate is also one of the more detailed in the line, with a jacket exposing an undershirt and a thick, piratey belt. It's also worth noting that this torso can perhaps be put to good use as a bluecoat officer or perhaps some kind of privateer. Let's get building. The Build With so few parts in this polybag set, the build is relatively straightforward. The instructions are nice and simple, without any of the modern-day part callouts. Build foundation After a step or two, we have the beginnings of a wall and our cannon placed down. And after just a few more steps, we have our completed structure. (That was quick!) Island and structure (front) From the front, we have a bit of a fortification wall, our proud Jolly Roger pirate flag flying, and a palm frond to protect our heroic pirate from harmful UVA and UVB rays during his stay. Island and structure (rear) From the rear, we can see that the pirate has a place to hang his rifle. We also note that there are hiding places for pirate loot and cannon balls. It's a shame there aren't any in this set. How is our pirate to make use of the cannon without any ammunition? The complete build Here we have the set all together, including the pirate and the shark. Despite its size, it is an aesthetically pleasing set! For sets of this size, our imagination is really what drives the story here. Who is this pirate? And what of the island itself? Is it an abandoned fort, perhaps? There's enough playablity here to have a fair bit of fun on its own. With a chomping shark, a yawing cannon, and an armed pirate, we have all the trappings of a good pirate adventure. Still, there is room for improvement. A lack of a cannonball or two is a definite oversight, even if the cannon does not actually fire. And the addition of a monkey or some gold would really have made this set fantastic. It's a good "parts pack" at the very least, and a good addition to any pirate collection. There's enough to have a bit of fun with. If price data were available, I believe we would find a respectable price-to-parts ratio. It is also very easy to take elements from this set and add to other pirate sets. The minfigure and shark are easily added to a larger ship, as are the cannon, firearms, and flag. At the end of the day, this is a solid polybag set that captures the freespirited nature of classic pirate sets. I give this set two rusty hooks straight up! Scoring Playability: 6/10 (Minifig and shark fun, but your imagination will do some heavy lifting here.) Design: 7/10 (A reasonably attractive structure given the part count. But an extra palm frond or a monkey would be nice.) Parts: 9/10 (Some useful, detailed parts here. Multiple printed pieces. Good for crew building and armaments.) Minfigs: 7/10 (Relatively common minifig parts. But a classic and one of the more complex face and torso printings in the line.) Sharks: 9/10 (You can't go wrong with a dark gray shark. Point off for lack of additional sharks.) Price: N/A (Pricing is lost to the sands of time. Likely comparable to other polybags of its time.) Availability: 2/10 (Only available in USA! May have been an "exclusive" set only at a certain store.) Final Score: 7/10 (A solid pirate polybag. A good mix of parts, and a welcome addition to any pirate universe.) Uh oh. Looks like our hero is in trouble!... Whew! That was close! Our hero lives to fight another day.

    Kazi Black Pearl Review

http://s1373.photobucket.com/user/CaptainPirateMan/media/DSCN0174_zps2762bf7f.jpg.html?o=13 http://s1373.photobucket.com/user/CaptainPirateMan/media/DSCN0154_zpsb2c8ce62.jpg.html http://s1373.photobucket.com/user/CaptainPirateMan/media/DSCN0158_zps1446b4b5.jpg.html?o=12 Let me start by saying I grew up very much a Lego head. So yes I do consider myself to be a loyal long time “Legoist.” At some point during early 20’s, my (EVIL) step mother, lol, sold my entire Lego collection in a garage sale, without my knowledge… I now have kids and they very much LOVE Lego’s, so my interest in them has returned as well. Every time we really talk about building our Lego collection, I can’t help but miss MY Lego collection. Some of the highlights of that collection were Skull Eyed Schooner, Eldorado Fortress, and the original Imperial Flagship. I also had pretty much every pirate island and Imperial fort along with many Castle and Woodsman sets from the late 80’s and early 90’s. Fortunately many of my minfig’s did survive and are still in my possession, but that is it…. Fast forward to 2014, looking online into Lego’s for my kids, I discovered many knockoff Lego companies. The two things that drew my attention was A. price and B. the sets themselves. It’s no secret that buying Lego brand Pirate ships are VERY expensive at the moment. My wife and I decided to have a “Lego” Christmas. We are buying MANY official Lego products including The Lonely Mountain, The battle of Five Armies and many other large Hobbit sets, along with multiple smaller Hobbit and Friends sets. But for our pirate sets we made the decision to build up our collection (since we pretty much started from scratch, minus the minfigs of course) with Chinese knockoff companies. We are expecting MULTIPLE ships and sets from Enlighten, Kazi, and Sluban. Today I am starting my reviews with the Kazi Black Pearl. The Kazi Black Pearl I purchased for about $100 including shipping (let me add I received it in about 1 week, which is amazing for a Chinese product.) Despite the hefty price tag, I could not pass up this ship for two reasons A. the sheer size and B. the even hefty price tag for the Official Lego Black Pearl (which is typically $200 or more for a SMALLER ship). Let me add, the Kazi Black Pearl is a more of a knockoff of Lego’s Imperial Flagship, than it is the Lego Black Pearl. It does look like the Black Pearl, but it is also more of an original design than it is a complete Lego copy cat. I do not own the Lego Black Pearl, so I can’t do a complete compare and contrast, but as stated earlier, I DID have the Skull Eyed Schooner (which was the biggest and baddest Lego ship on the block for over 15 years.) Plus I have also watched and read many reviews of of ALL of Lego and nonLego “style” Pirate ships, so I feel fairly confident in my opinions. Which having said that, I will get to my point; the Kazi Black Pearl is the biggest and baddest Lego style ship on the market. This ship, along with the Lego Imperial Flagship is the only 6 piece hull ships on the market, so this ship is clearly bigger than the lego Black Pearl and Queen Anne’s Revenge. Does it have all the bells and whistles those other ships offer? No probably not, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its fair share of bells. But having said that, this ship is by no means without flaw, but many of those flaws can be remedy by a decent amount of Lego knowhow. Let me start with the good, this ship is surprisingly well built, designed, and sturdy. It really is a solidly built set. None of the parts feel like they could just give out on a moment’s notice. Now that doesn’t mean that this ship could survive steady play from a 5 year old (because it could not, but more on that later), but as long as you don’t drop it, it’ll stay together pretty well. Also, and I can’t stress this enough, it looks freaking awesome. It really looks like and feels like a BAD to the bone pirate ship. Honestly I wish I still had my Skull Eyed Schooner, they would make for some EPIC high seas battles (although I’m not sure I would bet on the Schooner.) While the overall brick quality of Kazi’s products is not as high as Lego’s, it is by no means bad. If Lego is a 10, these Kazi bricks are an 8. If I put a bunch of these bricks in my kids Legos, I doubt she could pick them out (except for one says Lego and one say Kazi.) The actual quality of the bricks is NOT one of the weak points of this set, it’s actually one of the strengths, hence the sturdy final build. To be quite honest, even the most loyal Lego enthusiast would benefit from adding this ship to your fleet. It will only make you fleet better, impossible to hurt it. Now on to the bad, the minifigs are AWFUL. Honestly you could not ask for worse minfigs IMO. Based on Lego minifigs being a 10, these are a 2. Their only redeeming qualities are their accessories. They do have nice hats and weapons, but the actual figs are terrible. I couldn’t even put the hands on some of them; the holes just didn’t seem big enough. Whatever money Kazi put into making their bricks pretty good, they clearly recouped those costs on the minifigs. But fortunately for me, I just tossed these crap figures aside and put on my Pirate Lego guys, so the minifigs don’t really bother me much. Another thing I don’t like is the sails. They are made of plastic or some kind of vinyl, not nearly as nice as cloth sails. But as with the minifigs, I am making my own sails, and can easily remedy this problem. Another aggravating aspect to this set was the piece count. I want to say I was shorted 5 or so pieces, and was giving the wrong color of another 5 or so. Luckily for me, I can raid leftover Lego pieces, so again I could fix this problem. But honestly I shouldn’t have had to. My final two complaints are more of grievances, not terrible things, but things that could be better. First off, I did have to slightly modify the design a couple of times. As I was building it, I just had a couple of ideas that it would be better if you do it this way instead, so I did. My final grievance is the captain’s quarters. The ship actually comes with a pretty good quarters, with some good odds and ends, but they are virtually impossible to access. It does have a back opening access point, but it’s not nearly as well designed as Lego counter parts. So basically you end up using the windows and doors mostly, which makes it VERY hard to access. But on the other hand, the rear of the ship is VERY solid, and not likely to fall apart, so maybe it’s 6 of one, half dozen of the other? 14 and up Rating: For older kids and adults I have to give this set a 9. The ship alone is worth the price, it is really that beautiful. Again I’m basing this rating upon Lego pirate ships being a 10. The things that lower the score are things like the minifigs or Kazi quality control issues, but not much on the actual ship. But once my small changes are complete, this set will feel like a perfect 10, at least to me. Under 14 Rating: For kids under the age of 14 I would give this set a 2. As a standalone set, being played with often, I would not recommend this set. Without my ability to “fix” the problems or look at the big picture, I would be very upset. If this was the first “lego” set I ever bought for my child, it would probably be the last, because the minifigs make it almost unplayable. Final Verdict: My overall score for this set is a 7.5. It is equally beautiful and ugly at the same time, but at the end of the day the beauty outweighs the ugly, at least for me. Again, not the best idea for a kid, but older collectors should love it. As I stated before, even the most loyal Lego fans would only benefit from adding this set to their fleet. At the end of the day, all of these cons can be fixed even by the most novices of builders. http://s1373.photobucket.com/user/CaptainPirateMan/media/DSCN0158_zps1446b4b5.jpg.html?o=12
  9. Hello all, I've been busy trying to recreate the sail of the (Original) Imperial Flagship 6271. This is my result so far, below. Do you feel the design is accurate? I have only been working from someone's Brickshelf gallery scan, as I have lost the original. Do you feel the image is representative of the original? Thanks

    The Ammonite

171A The Ammonite is a whaling ship (its home port being somewhere in 19th century New Bedford). Primarily used to hunt certain types of whales for their valuable oil, this ship's crew has mastered the art of whaling, and their ship is the pride and joy of its company's business. Since I was fortunate enough to have a three day weekend, I decided to not let it go to waste and buckled down and built. Also, this is my first MOC post here on Eurobricks, so I hope I posted this in the best theme place possible and did all the post guidelines right. Please let me know if I need to change anything. Here's my latest I've been working on, Hayreddrin Barbossa (Redbeard). Now I need to build a crew of Barbary pirates to go with my Xebec. Here's most of the crew from Vengeance. Captain "Dead Eye Dave", Star reader "Lady LeeAnn", Quartermaster "Nathaniel", Surgeon "Lord Herzig" Next we have Bosun "Erica", Copper "Pierre", Master gunner "Sparks", Gunner "Misfire Mike" Next up, Swabbie "Smee", Carpenter "Chisel Charlie", Gunner "One Eye William", Navigator "Joshua"
  14. This is model I have built back in the first half of 2012. I don´t have the physical model anymore, but I just found the pics I had in my archive and decided to finally post it. It´s a steampunk submarine, originated from a former pirate ship that was converted. It had no interiors. It was simply a tryout into this world I quite love and admire for its aesthetic richness but to which I had never dared to dive. So, here's my first steampunk adventure! :) There´s more pictures of it on my flickr. Just follow any of the links of the pictures! :)
  15. [pid][/pid] Hey Guys, here is a review of the Classic System Imperial Flagship 6271! I hope you enjoy, I thought it may be cool to see this set in more detail! Since the price of this set varies, anywhere from about $80 onward, it is up to you whether it is worth it or not. I have had mine in my collection for a long time, when I got it as a gift it was NIB. Personally I love it, and think it is an essential to any pirate or imperial navy collection! 16. Set Title: MetalBeard's Sea Cow Set #: 70810 Theme: The LEGO Movie Pieces: 2741 Minifigures: 6 Year of Release: 2014 Price at Release: USD 249,99/ EUR 249,99 /GBP 169,99 I had the joy of receiving this giant box yesterday and since noone seems to have done a review of it yet, I thought it'd be a good opportunity to do my part for this little community of ours ^^ So here goes. I admit, I shamelessly ripped off Clone O'Patra's structure to help me out in organising my thoughts. BOX this thing is massive. But I'm happy to say that it isn't needlessly so. The content actually takes most of the space inside. The art depicts a really nice dramatic night scene of the ship sailing the sea in the moonlight. Although the LEGO Movie takes a little too much space to my taste. And on the bottom right corner, we have the regular call out of all the minifigs included. Those figs are also better shown on the side of the box Then the back shows many of the features included in the set. CONTENTS obviously, 2700+ pieces count for something. They come in multiple bags numbered 1 to 9 (two or three per number) plus an extr aone containing the mast and sail pieces and the hull pieces were loose in the box The instruction book is a massive 287-page volume. this comes with the standard pieces call out before each step and was prety easy to follow. It even has the 1:1 image of some of the more confusing pieces when their length matters. Unfortunately, the set also comes with a sticker sheet. I was quite disappointed to sea the treasure maps on it too. BUILD The whole build took me around 7 hours to complete (since I'm a junkie, I did it all in one go) the first bag contains a first set of minifigs and a mini MetalBeard (which I counted among the minifigs but since he is brickbuild, I guess it's a matter of opinion ) A few pieces I'd never seen before : some miniature version of the ball joints and a different grapling hook Part two comes with the other figs, the micro managers and the famous double decker couch. And part 3 begins building the ship proper, starting with the hull and the gun deck Part 4 then adds more guns on the sides It also came with an interesting piece I'd never encountered : a 2x2 round tile with a hole in the middle Part 5 builds the round parts of the front and back of the hull, using the same technique as in the Imperial Flagship (another favourite set of mine) Then we build the rear cabin which contains the armory and some sort of engine. I assume it's for all the propellers at the back 7 adds the captain's cabin and one of the mast. This is where the sheer size of the ship starts making taking pictures a bit tricky. Also it was getting late and the light didn't really help... Bags 8 contains the rest of the masts and sails that are directly attached to the ship And finally, we build the middle deck and the steam engine. All in all, that was a very enjoyable build with quite a few nice surprises hidden here and there. MINIFIGS The set comes with Benny, Wyldstyle (are you Djing?), Emmet, Vitruvius, Queasy Kitty and MetalBeard (I'll get back to him in a minute) Since I don't have any other movie set, I assume they're the same (Emmet is from the promo polybag). Except for Queasy Kitty. She has a nice sick shade of green and her face is a printed piece. Also, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed in Benny's helmet. I realise they can't really break every model they make for the sake of accuracy but that mold still looks kind of weird. All the regular figs come with variant back printed head. Although I had to look really hard to spot the difference on Wyldstyle's (the bottom of her eye dots look like she's slightly squinting or something) Now Mini Metal Beard on the other hand, I really like. The ymanaged to capture his look in mini form pretty well. It even comes with an anchor on his peg leg and a shark on his right hand Although admittedly, the back is a little bland and he is rather hard to set in any sort of interesting action pose Then come the two micro managers The big one comes with hidden flick fire missiles on the sides an a radar dish that folds down from his back (the stand isn't included) And the smaller one is a cutesie that spits a net from its mouth SET And now for the actual set. Let's start with the really important part : the double decker couch, of course. This is where I must be more of an Emmet than a master builder, because I actually find the idea pretty nice (it doesn't come wit hidden compartments, though) And the ship That thing is huge. I called Benny to help me give a sense of scale The front view And the back. There should be a few stickers on there but I'm still on the fence on whether I should apply them or not... A few pieces of interest : the machine gun attached to the front mast. It looks really nice, although a little impractical since it cannot swivel left or right. The figure at the top of the highest mast reminds me of the head of one of those white parrots with yellow feathers on the back of their head. I don't know if that's what they were aiming for but I find it a nice touch none the less. The place where MetalBeard drives the ship looks like a giant armchair but I could'nt make him fit in there. As I said, his posability isn't too great although they did it on the box art, so it's obviously doable The shipcan be separated in three parts for easy access to the captain's cabin and the gun deck below The central piece even has some hidden gems tucked in the beams At the back of the top deck, there is a nice looking telescope, too And then just below is the captain's cabin. All those 4x4 tiles are supposed to be treasure maps and blueprints but I haven't applied the stickers. Tere shold also be a portrait on the 4x2 brown tile on he wall. Also, I have no idea what that thing along the window is supposed to be. It sort of looks like a morse machine or a stapler. It confuses me a little. But the other side has an inkpot and a ship in a bottle and some rhum on a shelve Finally, there is the armory/engine room with a nice candelbra hanging from the ceiling. It's accessible by the front or the sides that can be opened for easier access CONCLUSION I love it. It's big, full of nifty little details and the whole thing looks impressive while its proportions makes it a little cartoonish. Not an easy combination but they pulled it off anyway. It's definitely worth its value. I'm really glad LEGO started making those higher price ranges where the designers go crazy on the stuff they can include.

    Hispaniola

168A Hi, I’d like to present my latest MOC – HMS Hispaniola – based on the ship from Robert Louis Stevenson’s greatest book „ Treasure Island” of course. The ship itself is a improved version of my previous ship – HMS Enterprize. I change colour scheme, stern and rigging - but still it is the weakest part of the ship. I also change the sails - they are the same but I taped it by rope, so they are rigid, look very good and doesn't shred. I also change a bit the masts and spars. I based the appearance of the ship from the "Treasure Island" movie with Charlton Heston as a Long John Silver and Christian Bale as Jim Hawkings (from 1990) but my ship isn't a true copy of the ship from the movie ( in the movie it was used the replica of HMS Bounty built in 1960 specially to the “Mutiny on the Bounty” movie from 1962 with Marlon Brando). Btw. I think this movie is a best screening of Robert Louis Stevenson's book and one of the best movies about pirates with great soundtrack also. So let’s sing that old pirate song: "Fifteen men on the dead man's chest—Yo-ho-ho, and a bottle of rum!" and see the pictures The main characters ( I purposely use from Long John Silver Redbeard's head and hat, because I don't know how to build minifigure similar to Long John Silver from movie) short story: and few screenshots of " Hispaniola" from the movie " Treasure Island" folder with all pics - http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=548938 - avilable when public

Mini MOC - Battle of Bunker Hill

I decided to make this fun little MOC of the Battle of Bunker Hill, it turned out pretty ok. Not the best due to lack of peices but cool. Based off of the Continental armys' devastating fight against the brits, even though the british won, it felt like a loss for them... Here is the overlook of the MOC Here are some other angles! Hope you enjoyed it a little bit :)

The Brig "India" has set sails

167A Ahoy, I am happy to present a brigg [sorry: it seems to be "brig" in English] with custom sails - the India (because of the galion): I have tried custom sails before but without the custom rigging. This time I am quite happy about the result. Then I found that the pictures look much better with a decent blue background: The crew is famous, as usual I hope you enjoy this (small) brigg and I am looking forward to comments that tell me that the "rear sail" is incorret . So, we sail into the sunset: ... wishing everyone a nice weekend! (P.S.: Don't try to search for "Lego Brig". Some clever algorithm is sure that you meant "Lego brick". I hate programs that try to be intelligent...)
  22. Not sure if anyone is interested, but apparently there's going to be a Lego Duplo animated short film featuring Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Sunday. I like how it has that semi-brickfilm style that The Lego Movie had. Is this the first Duplo TV special? http://youtu.be/YZmWZWVDwXg

    [MOC] Out of rum

It's hard to be a pirate these days. Not only are you left alone for good on an island, but worse still, your supply gets dry in a heartbeat... It's my first attempt to do something with water other than leave the baseplate as it is ;) The pirate "borrowed" his head from the 2013 castle line. I hope you'll enjoy this :)

    Mini Lego Sea Cow

MINI LEGO SEA COW LDD 17B Hey guys! Thought I might want to share my first Pirates MOC. I was looking at some of the relatively few mini models of the Sea Cow from the lego movie, when I noticed something. They were all extremely good, (especially the one here on Eurobricks) but they were all too small. So I built my own. A full front view of it. Obviously the sail details aren't perfect, but I did my best. You can see the shaping of the hull, which I did using numerous hinges and SNOT techniques. The bowsprit on the front is constructed using hinges, 1X3 plates, and rounded slopes. The entire inside of the ship is semi-accessible, but the size makes interior detailing difficult. Sorry about the inconsistencies in the images. The first one was taken before I updated the Lego Ideas page. A better view of the back half of the ship, as well as the chair. The rear deck of the ship, as well as a partial view of the upper cabins in the ship. Visit the link below if you want to vote for it on Lego Ideas. https://ideas.lego.c...s/79307/updates
