  1. MODEL TEAM VOTING TOPIC This topic will be used as a voting topic for the Model Team contest. VOTING RULES AND REGULATIONS Voting scheme uses the old Formula One style point distribution (10, 6, 4, 3, 2 and 1 POINT) You need to assign 10 points to the 1st place, 6 points to the second and so one. You need to vote for 6 ENTRIES (no more, no less) Clearly mention the ENTRY NUMBER and the NUMBER OF POINTS per entry that you vote on. If you joined Eurobricks after the start of the contest, you can be banned from voting (when vote rigging is suspected) You may NOT vote for your own entry. In the event of a tie for any place the Technic Staff will decide which entry wins. Our decision is final. Questions about voting can be asked in the Model Team Contest Information. For example (entries randomly chosen for example): --- comments can be placed above the votes 5: 10 (no comments here please) 6: 6 1: 4 9: 3 7: 2 3: 1 Or comments can be placed below the votes ---- NOTES Please use this exact notation NUMBER: VOTES (with a colon). Please use this thread only for voting. You may explain why you made your choice, but any general discussion should take place in the Model Team Contest Information Topic. Comments should be placed ABOVE or BELOW the votes. Please don't comment on the same line as the votes. VOTING CRITERIA The idea about this contest is to create a Model Team model which reflects the old school Model Team style using a modern approach. Indirectly this means you need to look at the following criteria: Design Functionality Color scheme Parts used Playability ENTRIES All entries can be found in the entry thread: Please visit the entry topic to see all entries. 1. 1980 Red Trans Am 2. Renault FT-17 Tank 3. James Bond Lotus Esprit 4. 1973 Renault 17 5. VW T1 Dragster 6. 1930s Ford Rat Rod 7. Ford Fiesta [MK6] ST150 8. Octan GT 9. Three-axle Compact Crane 10. Camper Tricycle 11. 2. Hi! Together with friends we started a robot battle contest in which we use tuned LEGO technic robots to battle inside a destructible city ;) We want to make a big show out of it and record it as video ^^ The robots have tuned motors and we control them with 2.4ghz system. So we can use more tanks and robots the same time in missions and races etc. And everything already work. Now we try to find new friends specialy for building the city and robots together, or helping record the video and driving the vehicles. But anyway we are happy about every feedback, about your ideas for this contest. We already have a prototype running which we show in this video: And we give away flyers and poster for free as long as we still have some ;-) Hope to get your feedback, Ray and the roboter nerd team ^^ PS: You can reply here, send message or mail to markus@freakwave.de , whatever you like.

  8. Welcome to the LEGO® and Eurobricks Turtle Competition! To celebrate the coming release of the LEGO® Ideas Exo Suit by Peter Reid, The LEGO Group is teaming up with Eurobricks and we’re going turtle crazy! We invite you to build the coolest tiny turtle you can and submit it to our Turtle Competition! You can win a signed copy of the Exo Suit, a very cool Exo Suit T-shirt or maybe your turtle will be on an exclusive turtle poster that will be given only to those whose turtles are included or who attend the fan event at Skærbæk in September. Contest Rules The contest is open to all users 18 years and older holding a Eurobricks account. To submit an entry: Entrants must design and build a turtle (the creature). The turtle may be generic or based on any non-licensed LEGO theme. Additionally, it must fit onto an 8x8 stud square with no overhang. Your turtle must be photographed on plain white background. (please do not photograph the turtle on the base, the 8x8 base is just a size guideline). Multiple entries are allowed. Post each entry in a single post in the Entry Thread. Only one picture is allowed per entry, but you may link to other pictures (eg. on flickr). Text background to accompany your entry is allowed. Only official, unmodified LEGO® parts may be used: no clone brands or customs please. No decals are allowed, official or custom. No digital entries please. The contest begins July 15, 2014 at 15:00 Central European Time. The competition is open for submissions until August 10, 2014 at 15:00 CET. The top vote-getters will form a shortlist to be judged by The LEGO Group's jury between August 25-September 1. TLG reserve the right to include any turtles of our choosing in the final round. Winners will be announced September 5. This is a collaboration between The LEGO Group and Eurobricks. Both parties reserve the right to adjust these rules as necessary. Prizes 1st prize - Signed Exo Suit set and exclusive T shirt 2nd prize - Signed Exo Suit set 3rd prize - Exclusive t-shirt Runners-up (the number yet to be decided) will be included on a poster. The poster will be sent to all of those whose turtle makes the poster and will also be distributed as an exclusive gift at the Skærbæk Fan Event in Denmark in September. The Jury will consist of: Peter Reid, creator of the Exo Suit Mark Stafford, the LEGO Designer who created the final model Karen Frost Sørensen, Project Manager, LEGO Ideas. Please read the terms & conditions in full here. Happy building! Any questions? Please ask in this thread.
  9. Hi all again, This was my entry for the TechLug contest number eleven. The goal was to create a 12x12 vignette repesenting a lightsaber duel. I have chosen MOCing the one opposing Anakin and Dooku on Geonosis. Here are the pictures, you will find some explications at the end of the thread. As you can see, I've tried to build the major elements of the scene as the cable on the ground, barrels, some rocks.... I had one day to achieve my entry, which explains the presence of LBG, which don't make think that the scene is playing in a rocky hangar, only represented thanks to a big brown metapiece. The light of the hangar was interesting, so I decided to show three lamps, with greebles (plates modified and bars in this case), to get a more eye-catching render. Anakin and Dooku are home maded minifigs. Technically, I used SNOT for the base, that is a quarter stud to wide ang long. The main problem also is the colour sheme I applied beause of my own pieces making the vignette loosing a lot of credibility. Still, I am happy having be able to participate to this contest, despite my result : the last place. Even if my creation is from far not perfect, what do you think of it ? You can ge bigger pictues on my Bricksafe or on my Brickshelf gallery.
  10. It's time for you to cast your votes for your favourite entries in .... The Turtle Insanity Contest! The response to this contest has been phenomenal! Thank you to everyone who took the trouble to enter. Now we need you to vote for your favourites. The top vote-getters will be placed on a shortlist to be judged by a panel of experts from The LEGO Group. Entries are indexed by thumbnail in the post below. We recommend reading through the Entry Thread before voting, as many entries have features which will not be apparent from the thumbnails. If your entry has not been indexed, then it has been ruled ineligible. Common reasons include two or more entries in one post (first only is indexed), entries clearly based on Licensed themes, or coloured backgrounds. Use this thread only for voting. Please use the Discussion Thread for questions relating to the voting rules or process. Remember, you're voting for the turtles you'd most like to be featured in the poster. Voting will close on 24 August 2014. So Get Voting! Voting Rules This public vote will be used to create a shortlist which will be submitted to The LEGO Group for judging by an expert panel. Only Eurobricks members who registered before the start of the contest (registered on or before 14 July 2014) are eligible to vote. Voting is allowed immediately and will close on 24 August 2014 at 23.59 CET. You may cast a total of 9 (nine) votes. You may cast a maximum of 3 votes for any one entry. You may cast a maximum of 3 votes for any one entrant, regardless of how many times they have entered. You may not vote for yourself. Any member who infringes these rules will have ALL their votes disqualified and will not be eligible for the voting raffle. Any attempt at vote-rigging will be dealt with harshly. Eligible votes will be entered into a voting raffle with a chance to win a further prize. The Eurobricks staff and The LEGO Group reserve the right to adjust these rules as necessary. If there is a tie, or any dispute, the EB staff decision will be final. Example vote: The Prizes 1st prize - Signed Exo Suit set and exclusive T shirt 2nd prize - Signed Exo Suit set 3rd prize - Exclusive t-shirt Runners-up (the number yet to be decided) will be included on a poster. The poster will be sent to all of those whose turtle makes the poster and will also be distributed as an exclusive gift at the Skærbæk Fan Event in Denmark in September. All eligible entries will be entered in a raffle for a signed Exo Suit set (excluding the winners who receive a set). We ask that you please keep the set built in case further photography is required. The Jury will consist of: Peter Reid, creator of the Exo Suit Mark Stafford, the LEGO Designer who created the final model Karen Frost Sørensen, Project Manager, LEGO Ideas.
  11. TECHNIC MINI BUILD CONTEST - RESULTS First of all I would like to thank all contestants for joining this great competition. You have shown the community some outstanding MOCs!! Voting proved to be very hard. Unfortunately I had to disqualify the Specialized Mountain Bike because it wasn't a new MOC. My apologies for not having disqualified the entry before the voting. It was clearly stated in his topic, but I have somehow missed the intro text I have manually checked all new members (who joined after the start date) and they all seem to be legit. Furthermore, the Top 3 outcome would not have been different. So I have decided to whitelist all new members. Without further ado I hereby present to you the winning entries! 1st Menck Cable Bucket Excavator by Doc_Brown. After last contest's Silver medal, Doc has earned his first Gold medal with his marvelous Excavator. Congratulations! 2nd Retro Car by super-jaschka This car is so exquisite, that I wouldn't be surprised if TLG knocked on your door 3rd Grand Prix Racer by Jeroen Ottens A wonderful interpretation of what the Mini Grand Prix Racer could look like as an official set I will contact the winners via PM to handle their prizes. SCM-541: The White Viper

This MOC is my entry for BBC contest 68 on BZPower. I made it in June. This was voted a finalist, and is currently at Brickfair Virginia 2014. Main image: Back: (Click either of the images above to view the gallery on flickr.) (Also, if any of you are on BZpower or at Brickfair, votes for this entry would be greatly appreciated.) Comments and Criticism appreciated.
  13. I've been playing around with this for some time, in LDD only so far. Borrowed some ideas off of prior LEGO sets. It is an experimental agricultural soil treatment machine, designed to produce steam on-board, and then inject it into the soil, while tilling. Similar devices are available commercially in Germany and Italy, but so far none of them are suitable for US agricultural purposes. This one has propane fuel tanks on the tractor, and a hose reel to connect to water tankers off to the side. We were going to build something similar, but then the whole concept got tossed in favor of an autonomous 4-wheeled platform, with no driver, just RC control. For the MT contest, I'll modify and add brick built details to the tractor and finish off the trailer. Functions will include HOG steering, driven PTO connected to the tiller, which can raise and lower. Since PF are not allowed, the steam generator will be non-functional Right now its at 75 x 17 studs, so will need some work to get to the correct size. I'd appreciate any feed back as to suitability to mod to MT standards, or should I work on something else?

  15. Welcome to the LEGO® and Eurobricks Turtle Competition Entry Thread To celebrate the coming release of the LEGO® Ideas Exo Suit by Peter Reid, The LEGO Group is teaming up with Eurobricks and we’re going turtle crazy! Post each entry in a single post in this thread. Entries submitted to Eurobricks after this date and time will not be accepted into the contest. Eurobricks members who joined on or before July 14, 2014 23:59 CET will be eligible to vote for their favourite entries between August 11 and August 24 2014. All entries will be entered in a raffle for a signed Exo Suit set (excluding the winners who receive a set). We ask that you please keep the set built in case further photography is required. The Jury will consist of: Peter Reid, creator of the Exo Suit Mark Stafford, the LEGO Designer who created the final model Karen Frost Sørensen, Project Manager, LEGO Ideas. Please read the rules in full here. If you have any questions, please ask in the Discussion Thread. Happy building!
  16. MINI BUILD I promised we would do more contests this year, so I'm sorry for the delay, but here it is.....a new contest. DESCRIPTION Build a LEGO Technic model with a maximum of 200 LEGO parts! Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set. DEADLINE Contest closes on August 1st, 2014. CONTEST SPECIFIC RULES AND REGULATIONS Maximum of 200 parts. 199 or less is okay, 200 is okay, 201 is NOT okay. Chain links and tracks DO count toward the part limit. Every part counts (mini turntable is two parts, just like in a real set) NO Electronics (PF, Mindstorms, etc) are allowed. Only official LEGO parts. No chrome unless it's official LEGO (see previous rule) Ropes/Strings, rubber bands and pneumatic tubing need to be official LEGO parts. Set must have at least one, preferably more, functions. Aesthetics do count. NO Model Team. Imagine your set being sold as an official LEGO set (also see previous two rules). GENERAL RULES AND RESTRICTIONS The contest is open to all EB members (also new members). Voting is only allowed for existing members (which means member date before start date of contest) If there's a tie my vote and Blakbird's will count twice. If there's still a tie, Staff members will decide who wins. One entry per member. Entries need to be new (never posted anywhere previously). Only physical builds, so no LDD or other virtual entry. If you have any doubts about the suitability of your entry contact me. All entries are to include only real LEGO. No clone brands, 3rd party parts, or digital entries allowed. Decals (stickers) will be allowed if you've made them yourself, but no cutting, sculpting or modifying parts. Entries are to be placed in the entry topic in this forum. Entries not in the entry topic are not eligible for voting. The entry post may be edited at any time up to the end of the contest, so feel free to make improvements if you wish. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not follow these rules. These rules can be changed whenever we see fit to ensure that people follow the intent of the contest. Staff members are not eligible for winning prizes. WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? All participant need to create a WIP topic for discussion purposes and create a post in the entry topic. WIP TOPIC A WIP topic beginning with [MINI]. ENTRY POST The entry post (in the soon to be created entry topic) should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions. Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) The part image needs to show all the parts used in the model. I need a picture showing all the separate parts! That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. PRIZES The prize winners may choose between selected prizes. 1st PRIZE The winner can choose between 42006, 42023, 42024 and 42028 (if available). (or choose a smaller set of choice) 2nd PRIZE The runner-up can choose between 42007 and 42022. (or choose a smaller set of choice) 3rd PRIZE The bronze medalist can choose between 42026, 42027 and 42012. (or choose another set with a maximum of 25 euro) Special thanks to TLG's Community Support Team for providing these awesome prizes!
  17. OK !! I'm starting this wip thread for my mini contest entry my entry will be some kind of 6 wheeler car or truck. functionality is still undecided, I need to work on the body either a flat bed truck with something on the back or maybe a touring car with steering, plus it rolls well so far I've got a reasonable chassis with about 50pcs minus the 2 middle support bumps but the body needs some improvement (heh) and some pics...
  18. I wasn't happy with the way my MINI airplane was turning out, so I decided to start over. I wanted to build something which was a bit more unusual. While searching for something to build, I came across the Bell XV-15, an experimental tilt rotor aircraft, which combines the advantages of a winged aircraft with those of a helicopter. More info about the real thing can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XV-15 This is the progress so far: - Tilting rotors, controlled by turning knob (not yet visible on the photo's below) - Automatic retracting landing gear, linked to the tilting mechanism - Free spining rotors - Opening rear hatch, manually operated - Part count: 181, but need some part for the control mechanism once I found a suitable spot. - Bonus: very swoosable I'm not satisfied with the cockpit section yet and as said, the controls are not completed at this point. What do you think?

WHAT DO I NEED TO ENTER? Please take a careful look at the rules before posting in this topic. Each participant should create a post in this entry topic. Posts need to follow the rules stated below. Posts not following the rules will be disqualified so please read them carefully. ENTRY POST The entry post should contain: Entry name Part count Short summary of the functions Promotional image (this one should kick megablocks!) Parts image (a picture of all the parts used, spread out on a surface) Video's are not allowed in the entry post (they are allowed in your WIP topic) The promotional image needs to be clear and crisp image, which really shows the model in it's best way. Think of it as the image on the box. Building a great MOC is one thing, but a decent presentation really helps you to get more votes. It's allowed to do some photoshopping to enhance the quality of your image. It's even allowed to compose a single promotional image with a main picture and several subviews (example), as long as your image doesn't exceed the maximum width of 1024 pixels. So this is allowed and even encouraged: The part image needs to show ALL the parts used in the model. That way we can clearly see which, and how many, parts have been used. For example: IMPORTANT This topic should be used for entries only, so commenting is prohibited. Please use the general discussion topic for comments on the entries.
  20. Mini TrialTruck Big step deciding to show you my w.i.p, my two small sons have been helping out currently trying to keep it down to 200 parts and less studful...(its over by a couple of pieces, including the minifigs) Got to throw some minifigs in there too... Features: Pendular rear suspension in two axes... Forward/back, left/right Progressive steering on the front two axles, front wheels steer more than the next set behind. HOG steering in the tailpipe, flip open front. All done from my 'spares' box - for some reason I do not have any right-angled connector elements in Black... not even in current models We'll see how this evolves and whether it will enter the competition or not (my sons want it to) but I know It ain't gonna win prizes but that is not the point in entering.... LXF file here -> TrialTruck_v3.2.lxf Please use, improve....and most importantly share, I want to see 20 variations of these in the competition
  21. Hey all, This is my attempt at an entry for the Mini contest. This is a Technic street sweeper inspired by the LEGO 6649 Street Sweeper. Functions: -Working HOG Steering -Retractable side brush controlled by knob on side -Lifting brush head controlled by knob on top -Swiveling brush head controlled by knob on top -Floating brush head (moves freely over uneven terrain) The scale is about the same as the LEGO Mini Backhoe Loader set from one or two years ago. Pictures: Below are some pictures of my first iteration, which had 253 pieces (way too many!). Pictures: Daniel
  22. I figure I'd better get in with a WIP topic in case someone else has the same idea as me and claims I copied them :-) This is very preliminary, but here's what I've got so far. Mini Crop Duster. Features (hopefully I can get them all in!): "Remote" controls * Retractable undercarriage * Engine and propeller Local controls * Flight surfaces * Steerable tail skid/wheel It's going to have to be yellow, because most of my other colours are locked up in other models at the moment, and since crop dusters seem to be predominantly yellow tail-draggers (albeit with fixed undercarriage), it seems a natural choice. If all goes to plan, I'll finally be able to find a use for the panel fairings from 8455!
  23. DRAGON Creation of an evil genius - a synthesis of genetics and technology - the dragon. Functions: 1. Open/close jaws. 2. Movable legs. 3. It flaps its wings when turning large gear! 24. A Plastic Infinity

    Star Flower

Cliché Rodian bounty hunter Ronnagond Jarra doesn't always like her starfighters flowery and pastel-colored, but when she does, they have big guns. This is the first of three ships I made for the 14x14x6 Starfighter Contest. The contest's basic premise, for those too lazy to follow the link, is to build a minifig-scale starfighter that is capable of fitting within a box with a volume of precisely 14x14x6 studs (not bricks high, studs high). I chose to engineer folding spacecraft rather than super small ones (chibi scale) that would just fit right in. Observe: Fully capable of fitting into my fancy box, without the stand, of course. I actually had to redesign this one after I thought I had finished because the big gun was originally placed horizontally (that is, with the two-stud-long side flush with the ship's belly) with a technic pin so it could just swivel 180 degrees out from the bottom when in compact mode, effectively doubling the ship's length. However, I overlooked that this nonnegotiable detail boosted the height just over 6 studs (darned tall cockpits) and I was unwilling to reconfigure the cockpit, as you may have noticed that it flows nicely into the medium azure angled slope piece behind it. I eventually came up with the droid arm-and-T-piece solution, which allows it to sit in the box at a steep enough angle to keep the cockpit just at the height limit. The new gun solution doubles the ship's length as before but also increases its height by approximately 30% all while making it...wait for it...20% cooler. Obligatory detail shots: Left side. Head-on view of the front. You know the gun is big enough when it evades your camera's focus! The right side. The backside, showing the propulsion output array. There's a hyperdrive in there somewhere... I don't build much Star Wars stuff and in all honesty the only reason this is here, rather than in the Sci-fi forum, is because the pilot is a Rodian, but hey... It kind of looks like a letter, right? Oh, wait...it doesn't... not really... ...and I just realized that if Ronnagond is a bounty hunter, how in the name of ponies is she going to stuff any bounties she captures into this tiny thing...? Oh well, I tried. More on Flickr and I hope you enjoyed!
  25. Above the barren and obscure wastelands near the Imperial London rises an odd and huge figure. But it is not one of the giants of the old age. It is a machine and it is a house, in fact it is the homely home of Mr. Edward Higgs, eccentric inventor and gentleman who definitely respects peace and desolation. Higgs's home is a typical home of an bachelor (at least on some aspects). There isn't that clean as there's no one to nag about things. As Higgs's inventing projects take some room (one of the three floors) and the machinery of the house isn't that small neither (it is an old steam sawmill tower) he has his bedroom, toilet and the old boiler room all in the same space. Isn't that handy? He doesn't have room for chairs around his table, but fortunately he can sit on the stairs while eating. The sewer system is also very compact and helps Higgs to avoid the sewage costs. As it would be troublesome and time-consuming to climb all the 32 ladders when coming home, Higgs has built a fold-out ramp for his helipack on the first floor. There is also a big steamp-powered hoister above the ramp to make it easy to lift heavy objects into the house. Another of Higgs's homely inventions is the big propeller on the wall of the first floor. It is not an air conditioning system, but a wind tunnel propeller that helps Higgs to make his airs vessels as aerodynamic as possible. This is my entry on the Home Sweet Home contest, category A. The house fits easily on 48x48 baseplate. I'm happy to be able to take part on this contest as steampunk is definitely my favourite theme and contest allowing that madness are not that common. This MOC was built and photographed in two days; late bird catches a worm anyway. More stuff can be found on Cyclopic Bricks, Flickr and Brickshelf.
