[MOC/MOD] June's Cargo Train. (10219 in Friends Style)
klokriecher replied to legolux1973's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Fantastic MOC. I'm surprised, we haven't seen an official train set for LEGO Friends, yet... -
The first LEGO Super Mario sets have been released in 2020. For many fans it has been a good move from LEGO, however it has a catch: There're no traditional minifigures included in any of these sets. Instead, LEGO maks use of an electronic system, which LEGO introduced with the Mario figure from the starter set (71360). This figure is compatible to all sets, which have been released for Super Mario. Including, this set: 71382 Piranha Plant Puzzling Challenge. This set has been released in 2021 and has 267 pieces. Box and instructions: On the front of the box you can see the set. Even the Mario figure from the starter set is printed on there. However, the figure is not included in this set. On the back of the box you can see, how this set can be combined with the starter set. The instruction is only available online. To get access to the instructions, you have to download the app from the app store. I would have liked to have a printed instrution manual, however I believe, that there'll be only digital manuals in the future. Construction: The set is very easy to build. There're for numbered bags and no stickers. The set should be done after 30 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces. Minifigures: As a figure you get a Spiny. On the top of the creature is a printed barcode, which can be scanned by the Mario figure from the starter set. The Set: The set has two piranha plants, which can be moved. In the middle of the course is a platform. On the platform are two oval tiles. If Mario jumps on these tiles, he'll be able to get the blocks behind the plants. There he can get a coin, if the piranha plants don't suddenly flip to the other side. Conclusion: I think, the set is alright. Who owns the starter set can enjoy the complete play value of this item. It also makes for a great part pack at the same time. GERMAN VERSION OF MY REVIEW What do you think of this set?

Review: Smash 'n' Grab (Set 5982) | Space Police 3
klokriecher replied to klokriecher's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I always hoped for a Blacktron return during the last space police era. Who knows, maybe the villains actually worked for the Blacktron... -
The Space Police theme existed three times already. Sets have been produced to this theme during 1989, 1992 and 2009. In today's review I'm introducing set 5982 - Smash 'n' Grab to you. The set includes 188 pieces and two minifigures. Is it still worth the purchase, these days? Box, instructions and stickers: You can see the set on the box very clearly. On the back of the box you can see the play features of this set. We also get two instruction books, which is easy to understand. This set also includes stickers. Construction: The set is very easy to build. The set should be done after 20 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces. Minifigures: There're 2 minifigures included in this set: an astronaut and an alien. The torso on both figures is printed on both sides. Even he head of the astronaut is printed on both sides. The selection is very neat. However, the space police officer doesn't have a vehicle to stop the alien. The Set: The set offers a good playability. There's an ATM machine included in this set, which can be dragged away with the speeder. The ATM itself can be opened. Even the spaceship has some playability: There're flick fire missiles on each side, which can be shot. On top of it, there's a spot to put the tools on each side. As mentioned before, there's no spaceship included for the astronaut. Conclusion: I think, the set has been well made. It's sad to see, that there hasn't been an original space-theme from LEGO for a while. But who knows: Maybe that could change in the future. What do you think of this set? Here you can read my review in German.

New LEGO Speed Champions 2023 Rumors, Speculation
klokriecher replied to MTBingNinja's topic in LEGO Town
How about a Knight Rider K.I.T.T. set in Speed Champions? Would be a great idea, since LEGO has already made the James Bond Aston Martin and Dom's Dodge Charger, wouldn't it... -
With the return of the LEGO Indiana Jones theme 2023, I'm taking a look at set 7627 - Temple of the Crystal Skull. This set was released in 2008 with 10 minifigures and 929 pieces. This item has a very high collector's value by now. No surprise: Indiana Jones sets have been made from 2008-2009. Is it worth the purchase, these days? Box, instructions and stickers: You can see the set on the box very clearly. Even the background has been designed nicely and shows a picture of the temple. On the back of the box you can see the play features of this set. We also get two instruction books, which is easy to understand. This set also includes stickers. Picture - Box Front Picture - Box Back Picture - Instructions Construction: The construction consists out of six numbered bags. The set should be built after 90 minutes. At the end you get a small selection of extra pieces. This set also includes 3D baseplate, which has become quite rare. Minifigures: There're 10 minifigures included in this set: Indiana Jones, Mutt Williams, Irina Spalko, 2 Ugha warriors, 1 Russian soldier and 4 skeletons. Three of them have a crystal skull. Picture - Minifigures The Set: The set contains a lot of playability. At the front of the temple, you can find a staircase. You may've already noticed that some bricks haven't been attached very well. That has a good reason, because here's a hidden trap. If you move the dragon heads, the bricks will be knocked out by a Technic element. On the sides of the towers there're two more dragon heads, which are holding a skull, that can be dropped. Behind the temple, you can find a secret waterfall and an arrow, a spiral staircase, a secret door and a throne room, which can spin. On the top of the temple there're two 'wings'. These wings can fold up, once you push down the 'round button'. On the top of it, there's an entrance to the temple and a small tank for the Russian soldier. Picture - Set Part 1 Picture - Set Part 2 Picture - Set Part 3 Conclusion: I think, the set has been well made for it's time. I can imagine, that LEGO could realize this set much better today. At the end of the day it's a cool set with many play features and a good selection of minifigures. Due to it's high collector's value it may be smarter to piece this set together. What do you think of this set? Would you buy it? I also have this review in German: GERMAN VERSION OF MY REVIEW

What was the best Lego castle before 10305? Which is the greatest of all time?
klokriecher replied to jodawill's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Agreed. It's been too long, since we had a really good castle theme. Maybe an ice castle theme could be interesting... -

Looking forward to see the pictures of the new Indy sets. I hope, this theme will stay around longer than the last time LEGO made Indiana Jones sets... -
Review: LEGO Agents River Heist (Set 8968)
klokriecher posted a topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The LEGO Agents theme has been very popular for a lot of LEGO fans. Today we'll take a look at the LEGO Agents set 8968 - River Heist. The set came out in 2009 with 203 pieces and three minifigures. But is it worth it? The Set Box and instructions: On the box you can see the set clearly. On the back you can also see the other LEGO Agents sets, which have been released in 2009. We'll also get an instruction manual, that is very easy to understand. This set also includes a few stickers. Box Front Box Back Construction: The set is going to be built very quickly. Shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes. Minifigures: The set includes three minifigures: Agent Fuse, Dollar Bill and Dyna-Mite. The agents figure has a bullet proof vest. On top of it, the face and torso have a printing on the back. The robbers, which have very original names, also got a double-printed torso. The Minifigures The Set: The set includes two boats and a vault, which can be opened. However, the boats can't float on water. The propeller on the back of the boat can spin, thanks to a wheel function. On the top of it, there're two bombs, which can be dropped into the water and a spot for the vault. The boat of the agents has two flick fire missiles, which can be shot. The Boat Agent Fuses jet-ski The vault (closed) The vault (opened) Conclusion: I think, that the set is well done. The selection of minifigures is very generous. With the two boats, this set is a good set to play with. This set is also a good part pack thanks to the colourful pieces. The minifigures may have a good collector's value by now. What do you think of this set? Would you get it, if you can find a good deal on it? -
