  1. Hello everyone, let’s me introduce my latest MOC: All terrain with 12 WD Liebherr LTM 1350 6.1. Mobile Crane informations: Weight: only mobile crane: 9480g + 1550g Speed:11cm/s Width:18cm / 23 studs Length:92cm heigh:28cm Tire:81.6mm (LEGO Wheels with Third party Tires) Crane MAX Heigh:195cm Crane MAX Capacity: from 300g to 2000g (Macbook Pro retina 15”) Crane MAX Extend: 125 studs Driving:4 X XL Motor::960N.cm Steering:2 L Motor ::972N.cm XXL Linear Actuator:1XL Motor::960N.cm (MAX Extend 27 studs) Turntable:1 L Motor :1152N.cm Extend Boom: 1 X XL Motor::960N.cm Lifting:2X XL Motor::400N.cm Which part is difficult do? the one of big problem how to create a strong power Linear Actuator for my super heavy 3KG boom? before I start my crane project, I had wanna to use third party company’s pneumatic, although it has extend 19 studs but it failed, it cannot made crane up. When I want to give up then chat with my friend, and he inspired a new idea how to create a LEGO XXL Actuator only using 1 XL motor. I really happy I can done a big big crane. let’s see the movie… … https://www.facebook.com/shineYucorner/videos or
  2. Since the beginning of my AFOL-hood, I have been a crane guy, with many mobile cranes built in the past. Now, during the more recent years I tried to diversify, partly thanks to competitions like those on Eurobricks, and built various other vehicles. I think it's time to see if I haven't unlearned how to build a crane :) So, the goal. I aim for a five-axle crane in the same scale of 42009. I think five axles is a perfect balance: enough to be imposing, but not so much it becomes awkward :) I use the Liebherr LTM1200 as a source of inspiration. The extra space between axle 3 and 4 gives me some extra leeway, but I also find it to look better. This image is from the Liebherr folder; I drew a grid over it with 8 studs for the wheels, and some markings in red. Most functions will be manual. Not sure if I can even get a motor in, but I will try. But there is one function I really want: suspension. I think it just looks cool to have a multi-axle vehicle with suspension on all wheels, and it makes my model less of a 42009-clone. To do this, some other functions will have to be dropped, like the motorized double-acting outriggers. This is the progress so far. Each axle is a fixed unit that is connected to the frame by two shocks and two ball joints. As vertical space is limited and Lego suspensions always tend to become taller than desired, I had to find a way to create a sturdy frame, so I went for studded Technic bricks. This makes the frame very strong. Also I think it's a nice deviation from all-studless building :) (This will principally be a studless model, don't worry.) Then, the steering. If you ever want to add and connect the steering to so many suspended axles, let me warn you: it's not fun. Every axle needs two U-joints. I just ran an axle with lots of U-joints (at least 6) through the entire thing. Not optimal, but it works. The outrigger housing is a real pain to work around. Steering angles per axle are varied the 42009 way: by having different steering arm lengths. The ratios are 100% : 50% : 0% : -67% : -100%, or, in easier numbers: 1/2 : 1/4 : 0 : -1/3 : -1/2, where the denominator is the length of the steering arm. Axle 3 is the only axle connected to the fake engine. Speaking of which, there's hardly any room left for that! So I decided I will add a boxer engine (which is lower), and it will still have to stick out one stud above the roof of the cabin. So be it. Driving the fake engine will be a challenge by itself too, because the unwieldy geartrain for the front axle's steering is in the way. I will have to sacrifice a lot of ground clearance for the driving axle. Next up: add the fake engine, add the outriggers, lay out the measurements of the cabin, and see if I can get the first boom segment in place. One note about colors. It will not be yellow. I just don't want to add another yellow crane, but I'm still in doubt about color options. I love trying out weird color combos as you might know, but the boom will probably be white, because of the panels I have (thanks to 42025). So I will probably do a multicolor scheme where white and black/gray are combined with one or two non-grayscale colors. I love to hear what you think of the first take :)
  3. Happy to see you guys again; this is my custom project for my customer at last year i accept this order. 5. September 2013 the first WIP picture of my crane was uploaded, now 3,5 years later I dare to say the model is finished. In all these years I have faced a lot of technical challenges with this model, thought most of them are solved a few remain annoying (steering and drive). In the end I consider the model done and decided to learn from the not fully working features to improve on in later builds. Other tough challenges that were beaten in this model are: Fully capable outriggers that lift the complete model of its axles, Lift of the boom using a brick build linear actuator, fitting tens of meters of wire in the model to power all the led's. A full list of the features can be found at the end of the post. Even though I consider myself quite a purist a few elements of this model are not from TLC. For control the model uses 5 sbrick's together with a custom profile, enabling all the rc features I needed with a good signal . Since the PF led's are way to expensive and dull I decided to solder my own led's with the right color and a good brightness. The stickers are supplied by JaapTechnic. More pictures can be found on my flickr Full road configuration with 14.4 tons of ballast weight. The spreader plates are stored on the back. All the light are controlled by the Sbricks, this includes the indicators, beacons and reversing lights. Yes this actually lifts. With the jib mounted the piston is able to erect the then 1.7 meter boom to full height. Fully erected the model stands 2.6 meters tall. Even though the model faces a lot of technical challenges all of the details are added including full interior in both cabins. Full feature list. Motorized functions: Drive, Steering, Outriggers front and back, Compressor for the outriggers, Slewing, Boom lift, Boom extension, Winch, Cabin lift. Light functions: Normal driving lights, indicators, hazard lights, beacons, reversing lights, working lights on the superstructure. Other functions: All cabin doors open, Openable storage doors on the back, Full suspension, Folding jib with multiple angles, Folding safety railing.
  6. Hello everyone, let's me introduce my new MOC: Liebherr HS 895, Speed:1cm/s weight: 5150g max loaded:1.2kg video here:
  7. For a while now, I'm working on a crawler crane. As discussed elsewhere, progress has stopped and this topic is an attempt to jump start the build again and finish it so it can join my collection. So here it goes: The project started with the launch of the 42042 Crawler crane and was a simple MOD at first, but quickly evolved into two MOCs. It didn't like the proportions of the body and cab of the 42042 and wanted to add some features like expandable or removable tracks. The first LDD sketches looked something like this: As some will probably notice, at this point I was still considering to make its larger brother the Liebherr LR1250 as well as a HS855HD. The LR1200 plan has been dropped, because it was simply a bigger version of the 8288 and brought nothing new. During my research, I found the HS855HD was more interesting, because it's a so-called duty cycle crane, a very versatile machine designed to do repetitive tasks efficiently, for example dragline work, soil compacting, (un)loading bulk materials etc. One of the consequences is the fact it has a free fall function on some of its winches, making it possible to drop the bucket or tool to either save time or to provide impact force (you can see this feature in and ). This seemed a nice function to try to implement in my MOC.After a few trial and errors, I came up with this internal mechanism: (The newest clutch parts are not used yet in this image) The controls are very similar as in the 42042: each winch has one switch with two positions: one for winding up the winch, one for winding it down. It is powered with the L motor of the 42042. My addition is the clutch system (in yellow) for the green and blue winch. Push the lever and the winches are simultaneously disconnected form the rest of the system and will unwind under the weight of the tool attached. Releasing the lever will allow the spring to re-engage the yellow clutches, linking them again to the drive. Meanwhile, I also wanted to capture the looks of this machine. It has linked manual expandable tracks, a tiltable cabine, and a inspection hatch. This is the current state of the tracks and body: At the moment, the bottleneck is the fact that the clutch system has too much back-lash or too much play to fully disconnect. I need to move the spring closer to the lever I think, which is rather challenging due to the compact build. Another issue to be solved is the expandable tracks which seem to snag on the chassis when under load. I would like to make my MOC as versatile as the real machine and design the parts to convert it in a dragline, double hook, clamshell bucket or foundation excavator configuration. To be continued ...
  8. Here's my model of a classic Liebherr exavator. I'm not overly happy with it, but my primary goal - full remote control of all pneumatics with a high degree of accuracy - was achieved. Oh, and that custom LED beacon is available here: http://bit.ly/buybeacon Photos & reading: http://sariel.pl/201...atic-excavator/
For a few months, I've been building this crane as an extra crane for my LTM 11200. I chose the Liebherr LTM 1350 6.1 because I find it an exciting crane. It is already driveable, but the main focus are the crane functions. Currently, I'm working on the boom, also with the big V (I don't know how it's called) Anyway, here are a few images:
  10. Ok folk, been working on this for a while now, please excuse the rubbish pics but im sure you get the ideaIve still to get a few power function parts for the base but the upper section is all working and had a lift of 2kg so far but with plans of trying for a bit moreOne thing im strugging with is, the two main winches in the body are run off the same motor and have to wind/unwind at the same speed but im strugging to get the string to wind nicely on the spool, anyone any ideas?Ok this is a 1:50th model of the real machine im working from
  11. Hello fellow Eurobrickers, I would like to present my possible TC8 entry and WIP of a Liebherr LR 1300. Link to reference image (Way too large for eurobricks); http://c-bceasncc.la....d6hxJTXEZS.jpg Functions so far; Motorized through a distribution gearbox, 5 winches Slewing Drive (hopefully through a subtractor) Manual, Cabin rotation from transport mode to operating mode. Pneumatic cabin elevation. On the to do list, Complete opposite side and counterweight area. Design main and rear booms, and luffing jib. Build base and crawlers, while hopefully maintaining the ability to separate crawlers from chassis. Build wheeled super-lift. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, ~John P.S. Please excuse any typos/incorrect words, I am completely exhausted from work today.

  13. Hey all, This is the crane I'm making for the TC8 competition, a Liebherr LTF 1045 truck mounted crane, mounted to an 8x4 Scania P380 chassis. The Liebherr LTF 1045 is a crane which is factory fitted to either an 8x4 MAN, Scania, Mercedes or Volvo chassis with the crane fitted on a Kenworth T800 in the USA. It has a lifting capability of 45 tonne and a 52m boom height when fully extended. My MOC is in scale 1/16.5 and will be fully RC. The crane's boom will be approximately 1.5 metres long when all two stages are fully extended. The RC functions are: Drive: one XL motor Steering: Servo motor Stabilizers folding/unfolding: M motor Stabilizers extending/retracting: M motor Superstructure rotation: M motor Boom elevation: L or XL motor depending on space Boom extension: L motor Hook raising/lowering: M motor Other functions: Stabilizers lowering/raising: Independently controlled using pneumatics Opening cab doors Tilting cab (probably) Straight six engine Full suspension Enough chat, time for some progress photos: Chassis with the stabilizers retracted And stabilizers extended and lowered A closeup of the stabilizer setup The main boom at its full length of 71 studs, with two stages going inside of it \ What I have of the first stage so far, not the actual design but just an indication of the extension length from just one of the stages. That is my progress so far and I am currently working on improving the stabilizer design because at the moment they are too high and bulky. I will start making better progress once I get the parts I need this weekend. I'll update this thread regularly with my progress as it comes along. As always feedback is appreciated, Cheers
  14. Take a look at this brilliant Liebherr LTM 1750 9.1, which I found on Flickr, by Dawid Szmandra. It's interesting, a rendition of a giant machine in the style of M-Longer or Sariel, Technic functions under a Model Team shell. Flickr Gallery:https://www.flickr.c...57655047082800# LEGO Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 by Dawid Szmandra, on Flickr As a bonus, he made a video demonstrating some functions: Although, looking at this makes me lament the fact that Lego pneumatic pieces are always yellow.
  15. Hello everybody, Im a new member on eurobricks and I want to share with you my new lego construction. Probably I finished building the world's tallest crawler crane model with LEGO. The model has already been described by me on my Polish website: naturalbornuser.pl. This is a representation of Liebherr LR 11000 and measures 700cm height: The model is my biggest and heaviest construction. Is higher than my previous model of the crane by 4 meters, was built entirely of original LEGO - except for the line and load within counterweights. Number of blocks estimate at 15,000, and the weight of the vehicle including counterweights was about 45kg (the weight of the model without counterweights this 22kg). The construction lasted 5 months. The model is a representation of the crane Liebherr LR 11000, but the proportions of some dimensions have not been preserved - especially I mean the widened portion rotational located directly on the turntable and this was associated with one of my assumptions about the construction of a specially extended arm and over the turntable. It is of course free standing construction. The model was not a collective work, but in order not to expose themselves to voices of opposition on this issue can not ignore people who helped me build: Invaluable help my brother, without which setting the vertical structure would not be possible: At the beginning of the few technical data model: height - 700cm tracked chassis length - 78s the length of the turret - 120s overall length of the vehicle (not including arms or counterweights) - 167s the width of a tracked undercarriage - 66s weight - 22kg (weight of counterweights - 45kg) Track drive - 2x XL motor with a reduction 1:40 the rotation of the tower - 2x XL engine driving a cart with counterweights (function absent when folding to a maximum of the rest of the functions of the crane (3 winder) - 6x motor XL two on rewinder (2 XLe to lift the whole arm, 2 XLe to straighten the second section of the arm, 1 XL - winder hook, 1 XL - extra winder for lifting the main arm) number of cells Track - 210 estimated target number of pieces - 15000 the estimated length of the rope - 100m Control electronics - 2x tower IR The only not lego elements are the line and load in counterweights. As soon as we found the right place to spread vertically crane sat down to prepare it for transportation in short it split up into fragments exceeding 120cm in length and repackage most of them in black foil, which stiffened the long parcels for transport to the hall offering 7.5 - 8 meters distance between the floor and ceiling. Each item has been checked against damage during transport, which could go unnoticed then lead to the weakening and destruction of the whole structure. Then he began to lasting a few hours of the submission process model with ten elements, which has been divided for transport. About 355cm: And 505cm: About 700cm: After turning the main winders driven by two motors XL by a significant ratio of the winding rope hoists running through heavy arm began to rise until it reached almost vertical. Then the second winder finished the whole process and final two-meter section of the arm was in final position: The structure is stable. At the time of publishing this article crane stands in the maximum configuration for five days to move the arms using machines is possible. When designing the construction arm of my goal was to minimize its weight which resulted in probably slightly on weakening capacity of the structure but with a substantial reduction in total weight allowed for a high altitude. The construction of most elements of the arm is as follows: Elements of a length of 105cm weigh about one kilogram each. On the other hand, the lowest situated part of the main arm weighs about 1.5 kg and is characterized by a more solid construction: Finally, a few images of a tracked chassis. And for more pictures and more information about this MOC you can visit my website.
  16. Hi everyone let me introduce my new [MOC] LIEBHERR Mining Excavator R 9150 - Technic Figure 1:1, it has 9 motors, 3 IR receiver and 3 battary box, The PF are including 4x XL motor, 4x M motor, 1x L Motor and it over 3,500 pieces. I want to create a Mining Excavator can play with my caterpillar 795F for a long time. Thanks for watching, and video will coming soon,
  17. First MOC post here as a new member, but I've been around other parts of the 'net for a little while... Anyone hoping for a PF behemoth from the title might be disappointed to find a 10-wide minifig scale model, but it does work! Liebherr LTM 1130 - 5.1 by TechnicNick, on Flickr It's got progressive rate steering on all five axles and the four stabilizers emerge together. These two functions are controlled by gears on the back. Boom luffing, extension (3 sections) and hook have controls on the body of the crane. 18. Here's a small scale mobile crane loosely based on the Liebherr LTM 11200. Not all of the details were implemented due to scale, since I wanted it to be functional and detailed. There was also a little bit of cheating with the counter-weight being a slab of steel taped on (it would've taken too many of bricks otherwise). The images don't seem to be embedding so links will have to do for now. Here it is with luffing jib and super-lift. Full height Better view of winches and super-lift Truck Loading counterweight and auxilliary winch Semi transport config Transport config
  19. Hello! I'm finished with uploading and lot of work, you can see one of my biggest and most complex moc. I always loved mobile cranes, so I decided to make a Liebherr LTM 1090 with medium sized (62,4 mm) wheels: folder with bigger pictures: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=533546 big montage: http://www.brickshel...90-62mm/002.jpg boom: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=533548 details: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=533547 About the mobile crane: Every function is remote controlled: - driving (1 XL motor) - steering (1 M motor) - outriggers outcoming and legs moving (1 pneumatic circuit with rubber band "control", 1 M motor for pneu switch) - upper structure rotating - boom raising - boom extension - winch (hook) - compressor for making pressure - front lights (together with driving (and steering with "turn signals") ) After outriggers, these functions are working also with one M motor, or directly from the receiver's output. Dimensions: Length: 610 mm Width: 135 mm Height: 211 mm Scale: 1:20,5 Dimensions with raised and extended boom: Length: 1235 mm Height: 1260 mm Other dates: Number of pieces: 3433 Weight: 3460 g Building time: 23 days Speed: first gear: 0,14 km/h second gear: 0,23 km/h third gear: 0,38 km/h fourth gear: 0,55 km/h Maximum boom extension: DETAILS: Flashing light in the back (made with two light brick, but one is covered with that black piece): Lights: Exhaust: Instrument panel: Manometer (for seeing the outrigger's pressure) and gearbox (manual) cover (the dkbluishgray one): You can use the airtnak in the pneumatic system, or not, depends on these two pneu valves: http://www.brickshel...90-62mm/024.jpg Truck The truck part is an 8x8x8 driven construction ( http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5936235 ), with a manual gearbox and One Xl motor for drive. The outriggers are working with pneumatic, as can be seen in the pictures, one motor with pneu valve is enough for control, because the backward movement is done with rubber bands. The pneumatic system is enough strong to pull out the rubber bands and lift the mobile crane's own weight. http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5936260 - I simply wanted to try out this solution (the original also has also a clyinder to push out the legs). It doesn't works 100%, sometimes a little help is needed to came back. The motorized pneu valve isn't my idea, I saearched a lot to find the designer, but it wasn't success. A compressor makes pressure in the aritank (or directly to the legs, see the description above), then the valves can be opened or closed. The PF system has 8 channels overall, so some functions are together with other ones, like the front lights with steering. One PF led is for light. Crane part (upper structure) The most important in this part is the strenghtening in the turntable, I made it with 4 pulleys, and 2 mm width rubber bands (O rings): http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5936256 Works, well, in extended state the boom doesn't deforms the structure. The 4 pneumatic cylinder can raise the quite heavy (3 section) boom, but not in extended state (as most of the originals). The whole boom can be extended up to 1260 mm height. The backward movement is done with strings, not with gravity, it's more reliable. One small Li-Po battery can power the machine, this black button is for power on/off: http://www.brickshel...y.cgi?i=5936219 http://www.brickshel...90-62mm/004.jpg - you can switch after the operator's cabin with the dkblgray pneu switch to raise the cabin in angle or not (done with one little pneu cylinder). This video can tell more than me, it took me a time to make it, but it's necessary for this model: Hope you like it. Maybe I didn't write everything, feel free to ask, if something isn't clear.
  20. Hi here sometimes my newest project dear man LTM 1,090.4 komlett by remote control the four-wheel drive is already inserted, all axes are pendulum axes and are fitted with springs. the all-wheel steering system is already obstructed for street company and switchyard operation the rear both support are already obstructed and function perfectly. The compressor is already obstructed here the first photos now I must build the support in front sorry for my english
