    Nordheim Greathouse

This is the 6th module of my large collab with John. You’ll be able to see it in person at Brickfair Virginia 2016. Previous modules: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. As with the other modules, the building has a full interior. Legopard inspired the cart. The Jarl of Nordheim resides in the large great-house that serves as the primary governmental building of the city. See more pictures on brickbult. Thanks for looking, I hope you enjoy
  2. As the fierce struggle against the invading Algus continued, it became obvious that Mitgardia needed to strengthen its defense against the frozen beyond. Thus a new fortress was to be established in the north, to serve as the main bastion against this chilling foe. The construction of such a castle was no small feat, and troops and supplies were rallied from all of Mitgardia. Upon its completion, the great fortress Rekkrfell was manned by the Kylma Katsella. This was built back in April of 2015, and was really too big for the parts and time I had available then. Thus, while there are several sections I really like, I'm not very pleased with the MOC as a whole. There are more pictures available on my website, link. C&C always welcome

    Nordheim Armory

The 5th module of my large collab with Isaac, for BrickFair Virginia 2016. See the others: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. The Nordheim Armory supplies the Nordheim Watch with their weapons and armor, in addition to storing to storing many of the weapons for the bustling city, in case of attack. It also houses a small forge area outside, where the weapons are made. Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated

    Nordheim Harbormaster

The third module of a large collab build that Isaac and I are building for Brickfair, Virginia. First module, second module. We’ll be posting one new module a week. The harbor-master’s house and tower both have full interiors. The tower is only one half of the gatehouse, which is why the arch has nothing on top of it. The harbor-master’s house sits in the corner of the Nordheim Docks, and all incoming traffic is registered there. The winter lull gives the harbor-master plenty of time to catch up on his records, inside his cozy home. I would like to claim UoP credits for: General Building: Interior Design Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt All C&C much appreciated

    Nordheim Docks

This is the first module of a large collab build that Isaac and I are building for Brickfair, Virginia. We’ll be posting one new module a week. The warehouse has a full interior and working doors. I would like to claim UoP credits for the following: Landscape Design: snow and ice Hydrology: still water Anthropology: life in Mitgardia The docks of Nordheim are a busy and bustling place during the summer, but once winter arrives and the ice forms, things quiet down considerably. Still, ice fishing is a popular past time, and dock workers still inspect the warehouses to make sure all the goods are where they belong. More pictures on Brickbuilt C&C very much appreciated
  6. Here's my phase 3 storehouse for Age of Mitgardia. I used the vast majority of our dark brown collection in this build, and really like how it looks with the reddish brown walls. The storehouse features a full interior with plenty of supplies stored for the winter. And the doors work. Just outside one of Daydelon's large storehouses, Smolja the dwarven blacksmith is greeted by Flotnar. "Good day, Smolja! I hope your work hasn't been keeping you too busy of late," said the cheerful sailor. "Good day to you my friend, and while I never have lack of work, there hasn't been as many pressing tasks of late. Your dogs look to be in fine shape, how do they enjoy life aboard your ship?" queried Smolja. "They enjoy it well enough, though they're happy to gain a romp on land when possible. In fact, they're the reason I've been meaning to talk with you. You see, I'd like to have some light chain collars made, with the dogs names engraved on small placards. Rjoor and Rif are their names." Flotnar stated. "I can do that easily enough," replied Smolja, "bring them round to my smithy tomorrow, and I'll make sure the collars fit properly." "Thank you, Smolja, I shall drop by tomorrow morning." More pictures can be found on my website. C&C welcome
  7. Here is my Barracks Phase 3 build for Age of Mitgardia. It was actually made in 2015, but it took me forever to get around to making the other barracks phases. I used SNOT 1x2 tiles for the stone walls, and quite like the stone block texture it gives. Daydelon barracks is a prominent barracks in Mitgardia, and houses from all over the guild send their sons there to be trained as warriors. In fact, it's not overly unusual for citizens of another guild to train for a time in Daydelon. Thanks for looking, your comments are always welcome
  8. Another Kaliphlin free build, and also the start of a story line I'm working on about Katoren. I'd like to claim UoP credits for: Advanced windows and window frames History "I'm glad you were all able to come to this meeting," Aymeri greeted the three men before him. "As we all know, the Desert King has controlled Katoren for too long, and it is time we did something about it." Arioch, the oldest of the group, gave a quick nod in reply. While Tierri replied, "He won't rule Katoren much longer!" Tierri had been a strong supporter of the High Council during the Kaliphlin civil war, and was known to be quite a capable warrior, though often a bit brash. Aaqil looked solemnly from under his turban at each of the others in the room. He knew well how much it meant to all of them to reclaim Katoren, but also understood that it would be a difficult task. "But what is our plan to overcome the Desert King's rule," queried Arioch. "It will take time, and careful planning to break his reign in Katoren." "An open war is out of the question, we have neither the manpower or weaponry," responded Aymeri, "but a small force of highly trained men could make things very difficult for our enemies. And with our contacts inside the city, such a force could be especially effective." Arioch nodded slowly, thinking over Aymeri's words. "You can count me in, I'd love to see some action against those moronic mummies again," interjected Tierri. "Which brings me to the reason I asked for the three of you to meet with me. My soldiers remain loyal to me, but would need further training in the illusive combat methods we must use." "Indeed they will, but where could we train?" asked Tierri. "There are too many supporters of that false king to risk training in the city." Aaqil spoke up, "I may have a solution. There's a ruined fortress west of the city that I've often traveled by with my merchant caravan. Though its walls are crumbling and overgrown, you could easily conceal a good number of men inside." "One moment," Aymeri said and moved to grab a scroll off a nearby shelf. Spreading it on the table, the others saw it was a map of Katoren and some of the surrounding countryside. "There, pointed Aymeri, "Aaqqil is right, this old castle would make an ideal spot for our training grounds!" “But how will we get the men,and a supply of food and weapons there un-noticed?” asked Tierri. “You can’t just be constantly going in and out through the city gates, or the Desert King forces will become suspicious.” “If we alternate who delivers supplies, and try to mix in with regular caravans, we should be able to manage well enough,” Aymeri replied. “I can sneak my men out over the next fortnight and begin training. And remember, secrecy is of the utmost importance. If we’re found out, Katoren is lost.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An overview of the build: More pictures on Brickbuilt: Link Thanks for looking, C&C welcome!

    Benoic Watchtower

Thanks to de Gothia for letting me place this watchtower in Benoic. Having recently acquired quite a few dark green plates, I wanted to try a landscape in that color and chose to put a small tower/cottage combo on it. There is a full interior, though because of the small size the furnishings are fairly frugal. Both doors are functional as well. The corner stonework was inspired by Dwalin Forkbeard, the cottage was inspired by Legopard, the ‘gear’ mushrooms were borrowed from Captain Flint, and the tower windows were inspired by Gideon. Benoic has many stone watchtowers within its lands to provide warning in case of attack, and also as bastions of defense. This particular tower also has a small cottage to serve as living quarters for the soldiers stationed there. More pictures can be seen on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, your comments and suggestions are always appreciated
  10. Yawn! The director of one of Terreli's best shipyards leaned back in his armchair and was drowsily fighting off an overwhelming sensation that sleep would, just then, be a highly desirable thing. However, just as he had really decided that there was no point fighting it any longer, the door burst open and another customer strode in. Siting up with an effort, the director observed an ETWC captain with a huge hat and quite a uniform standing before him. Humph. "Sir," exclaimed the Captain, "I must say that this is becoming absolutely ridiculous! Simply because I ordered the fastest ship yet to sail to the opposite side of the Sea of Storms is no reason whatsoever that it should take such an incredibly lengthy time to build it! Two months, I'll say! One to build the thing, and the other to go through whatever rest of the process you people do. I said on the double, sir! Absolutely ridiculous!" "I am quite sorry for the delay sir," replied the ship builder with affected meekness, "but I am afraid that, even on the double, there is no conceivable way such a vessel could be prepared in less than one month more. You know the saying," he looked up an grinned, "the tide and the ship builder hurry for no man." "I know nothing of the sort!" replied the Captain, "you made that saying up yourself but five seconds ago!" And with that he emptied a pile of gold coins onto the table. "Why in that case," replied the other, "In that case there shall be no problem whatever! Your ship shall be ready tomorrow!" "Eslandolan ship builders!" laughed the Captain on his way out, "Humph!" The clock and desk: Seems like I've finally got this started, phew! This was a quick and fun little build, but I hope to get that ship which I worked on for a lot longer up soon! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!

    Solar Porch

A replica of the solar porch on the front of my house. It's where all my LEGO MOCs have been photographed, so it has a special significance to my LEGO hobby: See more pictures on my website: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=3903 Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated.

    Imperial Port

This MOC was a commissioned model builld. My client gave me the general layout, and some specific details to include, and then let me go from there. It’s 64×64 plus the two stud border, and is modular, allowing each 32×32 module to be easily removed, and also allowing for easy additions in the future. All the building’s doors/trapdoors are functional, the two cranes work, and the prison cell has a break-away wall. Total piece count, excluding figs and accessories (all the dock cargo) was 5696 parts, making it my largest MOC in the Pirate theme so far. See lots more pictures on my website: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=3813 Feedback welcome

    Billy's Tree House

Built for the “Ultimate Tree House” category of the MOCathalon. I’ve always wanted to build a tree house, so this was a very fun category for me, though still a bit tricky at times. The tree house features a working crane, tire swing, rope bridge, and a full interior. Fun fact: This build used all of the green, bright green, and dark green leaves in our collection. Billy’s magnificent tree house is the most popular hangout area for all the kids in his neighborhood. More pictures here: Link Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated
  14. Creaking wooden floor. The magical smell of old furniture, dust. Warm light of the sun, the ancient thick books. Firm spring mattress, feather pillow. Laughter from the playground, flying from the sky the snowflakes stick to the window. Soft, but prickly carpet. The cold iron handles of the bed... (с) special for this MOC from my friend Red Panda Alex. The interior of the small female bedroom in the style of the 70s the USSR. Warm, cozy, sunny... Morning room by Nikita Lazarev, on Flickr

    Arangr Castle: Winter

The fourth and final phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. See spring, summer , and fall. What was your favorite season? Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Winter brings snow and ice to the countryside, and an unusual quiet, as most animals are in hibernation of have migrated to warmer climates. Fortunately a good harvest has provided plenty of food for the castle’s residents. Inside a feast is begun, and the minstrels are just arriving. See a large res picture of all 4 seasons together, here. And see more pictures of 'winter' here: link Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed this series

    Arangr Castle: Fall

The third phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. This was a fun season to build, as it being the time of harvest, I was able to have lots of fun minifig details. As well as some fall foliage, which is always neat. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Fall sees the harvest of crops, and storage of provisions for winter. The leaves fall, as the weather gets colder, and animals also make preparation to hibernate or migrate south. As usual, there are more pictures on my website: link Thanks for looking, one season left

    [O - F03] Taking the Zoid Slaver

Location: Forring - F03 Tags: Spaceship (Zoid Slaver), Land vehicle (Mech), Civil Building (Zoid Slaver Interior) "We got through but we need back up NOW!" "Mech and Emboian escort dropping in 5... 4... 3... 2... "1... He's down. Once those exterior guards are taken care of we'll get pressure back to the ship." "Better be quick, Callahan! We've yet to find those prisoners and they're letting the whole ship go to vacuum. DORA! Punch through as fast as you can and find them!" "On it, John!" ...later "Commander Hannibal... official count is up to 2,141 survivors... we lost a lot of brave Emboians, but John... this fleet is ours. Lots of repairs to do but it's ours..." "Thank you Admiral." "One more thing, Commander. You need to see what we found out about the Zoids' involvement with Kawashita..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Octan Hull Splicing Mech. Typically used for hull repairs to capital ships around asteroid fields, but deployed against the Zoid fleet on F03 to secure safe passage for humanoid prisoners on board. Because Zoids can survive the vacuum of space, they are known to kill prisoners by exposure when attacked. [O - F03] Zoid Slaver Over Forring - Mech by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr C&C appreciated

    Arangr Castle: Summer

The second phase of my project to show Arangr Castle through all 4 seasons. See spring here. The landscape changed most, though there are some changes to be found inside the castle as well. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Summer sees the continuing growth of plant and animal life. The warmer weather dries up the spring rains and encourages outdoor activities. More pictures can be found on my website. Thanks for looking

    Arangr Castle: Spring

As I was brainstorming ideas for a new build, John suggested a castle with four phases, showing how it, and the landscape, changes through each season. Realizing a good idea when I heard it, I set to work on the castle. Since I will need to modify the landscape for each phase, I planned to have the castle lift off so it’s easy to rework the base. As usual there’s a full interior, this time accessed by both a hinging section, and pull out rooms. The castle itself was inspired mainly by the creations of Eklund, DNL, and Aliencat. Simon S. suggested the addition of a moat. The castle features a working drawbridge, gates, and shutters. This is one of my biggest builds, weighing in at over nineteen and a half pounds; the base is 52×52 studs, including the border. Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Spring brings new life to the countryside, as the snow finally melts, and animals awake from hibernation, or migrate back to the area. It’s a busy time of year, as fields need to be plowed and planted, and supplies restocked. Drawbridge closed: As always, you can see more pictures on my website: link I hope you like it, summer will be coming next

    The Chase Begins

Built for the Isles of Aura. Dear Journal, After seeing a sign indicating that mercenaries, and bounty hunters were needed to hunt down a man simply known as 'the Cap'n', who had apparently become a significant trouble to the kingdom, I reported to the Town Hall to sign up for the mission. Inside I found a colonel overseeing the hiring, several soldiers keeping watch over the proceedings, and the usual clerks about their business. The contract was straight forward: only the first man to capture the rogue and bring him safely to the Realm of Vermilion would receive the the large bounty. As I signed the contract, along with several other men, I was surprised to see what appeared to be a young gentleman who looked to be a bit of a dandy, arrive. He talked to the Colonel privately for a moment, then turned to address us all. To my surprise, he apparently was going after the Captain himself, and he suggested we all work together to capture him, and then split the reward. For this purpose, he proposed to host a feast the next day, and our discussion of plans to occur there. The others agreed readily enough, but I had my doubts as to his true intentions, and thus had no plans of showing up, but planned to depart on the first ship I could find heading towards where the Captain had last been known to be operating. -Vigr Bardagi See more pictures, here. 21. Sir Edwyn

    The Græskar: Part Two

Part One Sir Edwyn looked around the room, squinting as his eyes adjusted to the dim firelight. “Evidently The Graesker is not here. Ah well, I was not expecting to be able to meet him so easily.” “Nor was I,” his contact replied. “Please sit down, and tell me your plan. There must be a serious matter afoot to force you to seek him.” Edwyn glanced at the door nervously before settling himself on the low wooden stool. “Indeed,” he replied. “You see, there is a certain member on the council whose influence is growing too strong. He is undermining my interests left and right…I find that I am no longer able to reckon with him.” “So you wish to…ah…see his influence removed then, yes?” “Indeed. However, he is a hard target to reach. I’ve heard whispers about a man whose facility for cover arts is beyond description…. never a name, and no one seems to have made contact with him directly. There was an old man who referred me to you, though. He said that you’ve dealt with him before.” “Not directly…” Edwyn sighed wistfully. “So you are just like the others. I am beginning to think he is but a legend.” “No! The Graesker is real enough. Unless of course you are foolish enough to believe that Duke Richtenheim dropped dead on his own accord.” “So you’re the one who was behind that?” “Well I – what was that?” Both men turned around as they heard a low rasping sound emanating from the doorway. “I thought you said no one would find us here!” Edwyn demanded. Suddenly the room grew dark and cold and Sir Edwyn felt as though he was falling into a deep sleep….

    Benoic Farm

Thanks to de Gothia for letting me put this build in Benoic! As usual on the farm, there’s much to be done: feeding, watering, and milking the goats, feeding the chickens, and most importantly: heading back to the house for some breakfast. Lots more pictures here: Link C&C very much appreciated
  23. Snowy Castle dioramas have long been my favorite subject matter, so this was an extraordinarily fun build. This is my largest irregular base build to date, and features a full interior throughout the whole keep. The rockwork was made using my technic brick design, which you can see a tutorial on, here: Flickr It's my personal favorite of all my builds so far, so I hope you all like it The citizens of Nordheim are quite proud of their large keep, and can often be found feasting inside it's protective walls on cold wintry days. See all the details here: link
  24. Here's my entry into the Expand the Winter Village contest. I chose to build a sporting goods store selling everything from winter apparel, to snowboards and skis. The shop has a light brick that lights up the showcase window, and the car features opening doors and trunk. I tried to keep it very similar in size, and complexity to an official Winter Village set. Brick's Sporting Goods is a very popular store year round, but especially in the winter. Come inside and buy a new snowboard, visit the hot chocolate and cookie vendor's stall outside, and then enjoy a day of fun in the snow. See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking

    Modular Corner Neighborhood

After 7 months of on- and off-building, my Modular Corner Neighborhood is finally built. When I started building the three buildings, my only goal was to use only parts I had at home. Well, I failed that. My favourite of the three is the corner building Cupcake Cafe despite the fact that it's the only half furnished. On the ground floor, there's the best Cupcake Cafe in town. The top floors are empty, but not for long. The new owner is already moving in some of his furniture. The moving van is a recycled MOC from a long time ago. The other modular building is the Grocery store. As the name implies, there's a Grocery store on the ground floor, and an appartment above. The store is small, but it has the basics. There's a nice variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh bread, dairy products, jams, etc. My inspiration for the store was the 10684 Supermarket Suitcase. The middle floor of the Grocery store building is the living area. On one side there's a small kitchen, on the other a living room, and in between is the dining area. The top floor has a large bedroom and a bathroom. The 16-wide building is residential. The ground floor has a kitchen, and door to a small terrace (I removed the wall for the photo session). On the middle floor is a living room with a more modern furniture. On the top floor is a bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The buildings can be rearranged in a linear layout. I added some details also to the back of the Grocery store building, mostly to hide the large grey wall. The buildings have some details also on the back side. If you're interested in more details, you can have a look in my (picture heavy) Flickr album, as I didn't want to include too many photos here. Most of them I was taking during the building process so they're not perfect, but most of the details can be seen.
