  1. Hi everyone. Here is my latest modular building. It's a handbag store, called "Coveted Clutch", that is based on my normal avatar. The store is on the ground floor and there is an apartment upstairs where the store owner and designer of the handbags lives. The bit from my avatar is the left side of the storefront, changed a little to make it wider and taller. I think of it as Soho meets Friends. Enough babble, here are some photos. My favourite part - the first floor windows. Overview of the store on the ground floor: Dining, lounge and kitchen on the first floor: Bedroom and bathroom on the second floor: More photos on flickr. C&C welcome!
  2. I decided that what my ever expanding Modular City needed was a Subway. I'll get around to building the Platforms, Escalators and Tracks later. So I started by building a Subway Entrance to act as a Corner Modular in the Entertainment District part of my town. Here's the Top view: There are entrance's from both sides of the building and the Corporate Railway colours of Yellow and Blue are liberally splashed over the walls. Here's a view from one side: And a view from the Front: Here's some more images... Ticket machine to the Right in the Entrance Lobby (based on a design from www.brickbuilderspro.com), Tunnels leading to the Platforms in the Center and lost London 2012 Olympic Swimmer with Beat Box to the Left. The Roof is detachable so that you can access the Station Master's office on the second floor. He uses a bunch of different technologies: Rush Hour! And what Station entrance isn't complete without a broken down Bike chained to a Lamp-post? (the Fly looks bemused) I hope you like it and would appreciate any comments, criticisms, or suggestions!

    City Corner Modular MOD

Hi all, I would like to share my latest MOD with you. It is a modular with the bike shop downstairs and the pizzeria up stairs. As usual, I tried to stay true to the original set as much as possible. Here are some photos: An overall view of the building The bike shop is on the ground level, plenty of room for new stock as well as a repair room out the back. The middle storey is the Pizzeria, with an all-you-can-eat style buffet and plenty of seating! The top floor has the kitchen but I didn't put too much effort into its interior, but there are more shots on my flickr. And all the modules. Hope you like and comments welcome and appreciated!

    Best modular to buy

Hi everyone! I am about to buy my first modular, but want to buy a good one first. Out of the modular buildings you can currently buy on LEGO Shop@ Home(Fire Brigade through to Palace Cinema) which one should I get?
  5. Ok, here's my entry for the Fabuland Crossover Contest. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: I've carefully read the rules of these forums before posting this MOC. It's stated somewhere in the rules thread that: "if you are an adult who is offended by what is often labeled as adult content, you should probably avoid this site", so I don't think that there should be any problems with this entry. Anyway, if anyone is really offended by this MOC (even though - you see - no one here is naked) I'm sorry and I will remove this ASAP. All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. The director is not who you think he is! No minifigure was harmed in the making of these photos. All minifigures are 21 years or older since photographed. TLG does not sponsor, endorse or approve this build. LOL! You wanted a crossover? What's better than mixing Fabuland pieces with adult contents? What's more NPU than using Atlantis teeth as... well, you know? It's a busy day in Legoville Studios... The shooting for "Fabuland meets Teletubbies" is starting in a pair of minutes and all the actors must hurry! THE CREW:

    My MOC: Modular Train Station

Just wanted to share my MOC Train station. As always it seems to be a never ending work in progress but here are some pics of what I've done so far :-) http://www.flickr.com/photos/edsmith0075/sets/72157632609123761

    MOC Dark Blue Modular

I designed this building in 2009 with LDD. I never thought I'd build it, but after finishing my last modular, I thought I'd give it a shot. Much has changed - it's dark blue facade is one thing. I also finished the bedroom and added some more details. I hope you enjoy - I had a blast building it. Full Set: Ha, just realized how askew the nightstands are :) Next to my first one :)

    MOC: A(nother) yellow house

Good evening, all. Now I am finally getting around to posting a modular I built a few weeks back, after seeing someone's (With names, I have the memory of a braindamaged goldfish... ) wonderful yellow modular. I had never thought a yellow house would work, but that set me straight! Without more babble - here it is. Facade: I am quite happy with the look of it. The ground floor isn't as good as I would like, but for now it works ok. It became a bank, since I had some windows from western Lego with a bank sign Back: I tried to make it distinct from the facade, and added some irregularities in the walls to make it look less "perfect". I quite like the little terrace on the top floor. Ground floor: It isn't just the exterior of the ground floor I don't agree completely with. The interiors are also a bit... meh... But at least the town now has a bank First floor: With kitchen, bookshelves and a dining table. Top floor: The top floor has a bathroom and a bedroom, as well as the terrace. Due to the construction of the roof, the access is very limited, unless par of the roof is removed. (Which isn't strictly "modularised), so to speak...) And here the three floors next to each other. And in my (temporary) layout: Comments and suggestions welcome. Hope you like it. Have a delightful day! Bregir

    Ultra Duty Truck

Not many people like 8-wide, but I'll keep making them anyway lol Here's not just a Super Duty, but Ultra Duty truck! I wanted to make more big 6x6 vehicles (like wreckers) but didn't want to keep buying bricks for all of them. So, the next best thing was to make this base truck and only build different modules for the bed. I kept the construction simple to maximize customizability. Notes -Going to add fender flares, I just need some 1x2 cheese slopes to stick on there -Can easily add extra axles, extend cab or bed, etc. -Can easily swap out modules to put on the bed -Can easily attach other things to front bumper by removing a few pieces -Roomy engine compartment This is a 6x6 version Here's the underside, very simple. Just use technic beams of a suitable size and reinforce them where needed. Use long 3L technic pins (I think they're only made in blue) to connect the wheels/chassis/axle together. Here's a shot with my Vactor 2100 and Wildland Ultra XT 6x6

    MOC: Modular Pharmacy & Doctors

Hello everyone, in the big city that I'm building, there will be a single row of houses (i.e. no backyards) between the market square and a street – and a good end for such a row would be a "rounded" house. Well, here it is: Many details were inspired by a house that used to stand on the west side of the Stachus in Munich (see Wikipedia). Lets have a look from a few different perspectives: Need some shoe cleaning, sir? The tram will arrive soon! These are the interiors: A pharmacy on the ground floor: Second and third floor are used by Dr Stein and Dr Bein's office and little clinic (well, 2 beds for short in-patient treatments). Second floor contains the reception desk, toilet, waiting room and consulting room: Here you see how the walls are built – not the most rigid ones ever built... Third floor has an examination room (with some devices including an X-ray), a lab and the two beds: On the fourth floor under the dome, Uncle Frank (left) is visited by a friend: As usual, there are many more detail photos on Flickr, including of how the 45° rotated tiling on the ground floor is built. Any comments, critique, suggestions? :)
  12. While visiting one of my favorite haunts in my hometown of Atlanta, Georgia a couple of months ago, I asked myself, "why don't you MOC this?" After all, it's a smallish corner building, and it has some very unique and iconic design elements. So, I decided to give it a whirl. And within a matter of hours, I already had a basic outline of what I was doing. Here's a picture of the real thing, the Vortex Bar & Grill in Little Five Points: I knew the skull facade was going to be the make-or-break part of the MOC, so I decided to work on that first. And it took a few rounds of trial and error before I found something I liked. I did have to take some liberties to make it work in brick and keep it recognizable, but overall, I found myself happy with the build. So, here's some shots of the outside: Little Five Points was originally built as the commercial district of the Inman Park and Candler Park neighborhoods in the Eastern part of Atlanta. In the last few decades, it has become a center for bohemian lifestyles and subcultures. The neighborhood is filled with music stores, head shops, alternative fashion boutiques, and a variety of restaurants and bars. The Vortex's unique entryway makes it instantly recognizable in the heart of the neighborhood. Here are some of the folks you might be likely to see standing outside on a nice Spring afternoon: While the exterior was going to be an important thing to get right, the interior was another level altogether. The Vortex is filled with chotchkies, bric-a-brac, trinkets, and what-have-you, and there are some definite design elements that couldn't be passed over, even when scaling the building down to fit the Modular standard. The bar area, seen above, lifts out so that you can see the details behind the bar. The light brick which illuminated the bottles is activated by a button below the vent hood on the outside of the bar. Here is an exploded view of the whole building: And here's your cast and crew, thanking you for stopping by to look at my pics: You can find more pics of my creation in my Brickshelf or Flickr pages.

    MOC: Pharmacy and boutique

Hi to everybody! I completed the interiors for one of my modular thanks to some friends set and I made some photos: At the ground floor a pharmacy and a boutique with the last alternative fashion directly from London! Second floor an R&D lab, you can see the graduate from S5 is really happy with his new job! Third floor: a design studio More photos will be available on brickshelf when moderated. Thanks for watching and hope you liked it! Bye Cunctator
  14. I would like to present my newest MOC to you, The Diamond Shop. This a narrow modular (8×32). It’s also a bit shorter (if you exclude the sunhouse which is located at the back). The reason for this is a shortage of sand coloured bricks. (Also my apologies for the quality of the photo’s, I’ve had to make do with an old camera which isn’t capable of very clear pictures.) Here are some more pictures of the front: And the back: The following pictures show the ground floor, first floor and second floor. As you can imagine, I had very little space to work with, so the interior that I’ve fitted in is reasonably crammed. I hope you like it and I look forward to your comments! Chroute I've just noticed a mistake in the topic title. It says "Diamon" while it should be "Diamond". I don't know how to edit the title so my apologies for this mistake!
  15. Hi everyone, We just posted the third instalment in our lego town construction video series. This one focuses on showing the lego roads we constructed. We chose a snot road construction technique rather than road plates. as we had more flexibility in fitting streets of different widths into our layout. Hope you like the video. Thank you for the comments and subscribes. my daughter loves hearing from people and seeing the viewer stats from around the world. This video also shows the Trains touring the town. Next video should include the new Cinema. Cheers

    Town update - Feb 2013

Dear All, just added Cinema Palace to my town, I was pretty happy with the build I will change the layout soon, would you have any suggestion for a layout with all modulars (except MS) and 2X16 wide MOCs? And how would you liaise with suburban area (creator series..)? Thanks for your ideas! PC_5 par SwissBrick, sur Flickr

    My City Street

Here is my city street as of last summer. No real updates since then, but I'll need to update my office building and park from the Modular Contest to the standard I'm using. For more pics, see my City Street set. Thanks for looking!
  19. I downloaded plans from www.brickcitydepot.com for their Commercial building/Bar combo (http://www.brickcitydepot.com/city-building-instructions.html) and I then decided to extend out the Commercial Building by doubling it in size and stuff it full of a micro-brewery. It's still a Work In Progress and I'd like to add an office and a washroom in the next iteration, but I thought I'd share it with the forum to see if other ideas were forthcoming. Here's the front - I can't claim any credit for the facade. All I did was double the width to 32-bricks. Brick City Depot have done a fantastic job! Here's the Ground floor. The Ground floor contains the large mashing vats. There's a shelf full of sacks of hops ready to be added (via the red doors on top of the vats), there's a water supply, and there's a shelf full of other supplies (that was in the original BCD plans) The Top floor contains the bottling plant There's a tray of empty glasses on the conveyor belt, and as they pass through the filling station they're topped up with beer (though the beer looks a bit orangey - I didn't have any trans-brown!) and then they pass through to the bottling and packing part of the machine. Finally on the downslope belt there's two full box of beers produced and ready for dispatch. Finally, a shot of the rear of the building. I like the grungy, decayed feel to it and as I said the source building is from www.brickcitydepot.com and any credit for the outside must go to them. The plans they provided were excellent! Thanks for reading and comments and criticisms welcome! So, what should I add?

    MOC: church baroque style

Hi everyone! I'd like to show you my last addition to my city: a church in sicilian baroque style! A bit of contrast with the mitteleuropean style of CC and GG...but for the moment I like it! 23. So... Just why did I build this? It all started because we were going on a 14 day New Year’s cruise to Hawaii with 10 at sea days, just at sea, no land, just the ship... What was I going to do? I immediately thought of LEGO! I have been wanting to build a MOD of the Grand Emporium to make a 16 wide, hmmm... sounds possible, but what else is in my closet waiting to be built? I looked and saw several Prince of Persia sets and I really liked the colors, so maybe something based on the colors, those dark tans, light tans, white and gold. Great colors, so maybe I want to do something with those colors. Where to start? I looked up MODs of the 7573 and found this mosque http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=47068 using 2 7573’s and I really liked the modularity, colors and the fact that it was a 16x16. I also found this MOC Modular: PoP Hangout at: http://www.flickr.co...hoto_4929709781 and I thought about what I liked about the 10190 Market Street. I decided to make a building according to the Modular Specifications, a 16x16 with an open air market area like the Market street. I ordered another 7573 (for parts) and started to pack. In the end I packed baggies of parts from 2 7573 (Battle of Alamut) and 1 7571 (Fight for the Dagger). I figured this would be enough parts as I was going to be in the middle of the Pacific Ocean without access to my inventory, so that was all the parts I was going to have. Fortunately we were driving to the port, so weight was not an issue with luggage, and being on a cruise space was not as much an issue as a flight to somewhere. I first decided to build the Battle of Alamut just to see what it looked like and get an idea on how some of the parts were used in case it would be of some help to me. So on my first “at sea” day I assembled the Battle of Alamut (no photos, we all know what it looks like. I then disassembled sorted all the pieces from all the sets into large food storage bags and claimed 2 of the 3 drawers in the desk for my LEGO project. The building is a “free build” no LDD, just from my head to brick. We know how that goes... You get an idea, put it together, take it apart and put it back together again several times until you get what you wanted. In order to take photos and avoid a bunch of reflections I had to use a couple of bed pillows as background. Here is the result... We carefully packed each floor in a separate large plastic bag with lots of padding (socks and whatnot) to try to minimize damage, and just in case, at least each floor would be in a separate bag so I could identify parts for each floor more easily. I can’t decide if I should keep to my original challenge and only use the parts from the sets I took with me, or maybe use additional parts as well... This is my third MOC, and the first I have published on EuroBricks in this detail, so C&C are welcome any ideas are appreciated. 24. All, I decided to tear down my 4554 Metro Station from the 1990's and rebuild it into something in a more Modular theme. So I combined it with glass from my Greenhouse http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=76636 , a bunch of 2 x 2 tiles and some odd bits and pieces and came up with the Metro Station Bar. It was 13F/-11C outside so some of the pictures were a bit rushed. Anyway, I tried to reuse as much of the old set as possible throughout. So the greebling at the top looks like the detail work from the original, the Arrival board became the Bar's Sign. On the ground floor a red cupboard from the original became an ice chest, a Train Decorative side (#2871) became the header over the Bar. There's also the Station's clock on the wall and the original Station Chef has been rehired! Here's a shot with the stairs removed. You'll notice that the Metro Station Bar serves both kinds of wine (and it looks like it comes from an industrial source rather than a vineyard ) The rooftop terrace had the umbrella's up, but you couldn't see the detail so here's a shot of that. I reused the benches from the original. The hatchway on hinges leads downstairs. I believe that with the exception of the 2x2 tiles and the glassfront that the two story version is probably 90% original. Then I decided to add an additional floor. And this new floor's interior contains a couple of sofas, a low table and the Coffee Percolator from the original. (That Carpet colour is bright!) Finally, here's a shot from the rear. It's still very, very yellow, but I had a lot of fun transforming it from the original station! Thanks for reading. Comments, suggestions and criticisms welcome! Here's the original 4554 as reference.
  25. With my recent receipt of a few 1x1 tiles to fill in the sidewalk, I've finally completed my Modularization of two copies of 3661: Bank & Money Transfer into a single building. You'll find the DJ outside most of my buildings. It's a corner building, so here's the view from the Avenue: You can get a little better look at the (admittedly rather plain) roof in this shot: Here are the two floors and the roof pulled apart: This is the ground floor: J. Jonah Jameson, man of the people, does his own banking: Gold bars in the vault: The Branch Manager's office: Another view of the Branch Manager's office: I'm pretty happy with how that last shot turned out considering I shot it through the window pane.
