I've seen numerous builders who have a unique body of original work and I was wondering where you guys get inspiration from. I've noticed most of them are Castle and Sci-Fi based however is there anything specific that inspires your MOC's? At the end of 2016 I was reviewing my LEGO creation’s and I noticed the lack of innovative and original ideas, most of them are recreations and explorations of existing intellectual properties. Feedback and criticism is much appreciated. My LEGO Creation’s - www.flickr.com/photos/adeelzubair/albums/72157645785522606

I've posted three new fire apparatus MOCs. The first is a Fire Chief SUV that uses Lego's new tires and mudguards from the Speed Champion sets. The result is a design that looks much more realistic and is more properly scaled in relation to my other fire MOCs. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/433885 The second is a rig is based on the FDNY Logistics Support Unit. It responds to major emergencies with additional rescue supplies. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/434036 The third is a Life Flight Helicopter. I wanted a more compact design similar to this helicopter and this helicopter. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/432346 Please let me know what you think. Also, you can now view my MOCs on Twitter and Flickr. Thanks!

Hi all! I'm new here and I just wanted to know what your opinions are on selling MOCs using clone bricks (not bootlegs). Currently, many MOCers are able to provide instructions, but people wanting to build those MOCs either have to: 1) spend a lot of time and money acquiring the necessary pieces over marketplaces like BrickLink, or 2) acquire the pieces from various LEGO sets. It seems as though people could benefit from having clone bricks fill this void, and 3) even if the entire set is available on BL, it's often limited by the bricks that are available on the market. Also, I know how horrible it is that LEPIN would steal designs from MOCers on LEGO Ideas. And I feel terrible that such companies would hurt the community that way and give competitor brands a bad rep. But stealing aside, given how LEGO constantly rejects great LEGO Ideas submissions (with 10k supporters), wouldn't it be great if there was a competitor brand who would take up those designs and turn it into actual sets? I've also been told that clone brands might be helpful in providing MOCers with bricks in certain colours, or out-of-production bricks. The reason I ask all this is because I perceived this need in the community and I was wondering if someone ever tried working with a clone brand manufacturer. I've spoken to a few MOCers to ask if they would like to monetise their designs using clone brands. They do appear interested in monetising, but their opinions differ over the use of clone brands (some were for it, but others couldn't because they felt it would affect their reputation). However, those were just a couple of views. I wanted to know what the wider community thought. Forgive me, I'm quite new to the LEGO community and maybe I don't understand all the issues fully. However, I would really appreciate knowing your thoughts.

Hello everybody! Here it is the summer update of my town diorama... this year there aren't many modifications since I've already reached the maximum space available. For this reason I've started to replace some of the buildings on a rotation basis... If you compare these pictures to last year's, you'll see a missing building... Well, said building (a tan house) hasn't gone, but it will replace another one in future, and so on... I've added a 16-wide gap between the department store and the fire station in order to add some variety to the street. Hope you like Not much has changed here... So, here's said gap, and there is a missing building... City park is still there, and, oh, there's a baby! Much space now! Hope to show you more updates in the next weeks!

Imperial Troop Transport Moc: This is my custom imperial troop transport, seen in the show star wars rebels. The cockpit and gun turret can be removed, and the gunner's seat slides back and forth. the transport has room for six troopers (from the official lego transport set), an imperial pilot, and a gunner/scout trooper. the side doors slide up to give access to the inside, and the gunners seat can be made into a turret. here are the pictures.

Captain's Hangar
captainmib posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So, to start filling my hangar, I present you my JFAIR build: A 9394 C-model: The X29 It has working landing gear, and the joystick controls both the front canard wings and the afterburner. This was a fun build, but actually not intended to just be a C-model. I started building a X-29 about a year ago, but I just couldn't work it out. Although i had some nice parts worked out, like the landing gear, the build was to complex for me. So, this is a more simplified model, and i'm happy with the result. 9394 has a very limited part range, so you just have to re-use some of the techniques from the A-model. Like you can see at the above bottom-shot. I wanted the front wheel below the cockpit, so getting in the landing gear and the joystick was a little tricky. Hope you like it. Edit: changed the set number, since it was obviously the wrong one, and I had a brainfart when putting this together...- 20 replies

[Video] Zusammengebaut 2015: LEGO exhibition in Germany
Zusammengebaut posted a topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Hello, the Zusammengebaut 2015, our first Lego exhibition, was so much fun. In the middle of Germany, in a small town named Borken (Hessen), there have been so many people of all ages; great. Eleven exhibitors, for example Gábor Horváth arrived from Hungary, have presented fantastic Brick-Worlds. If you like: Many images and more information (in German) you can find here. This is the official Zusammengebaut 2015 video. And if you would like to join us next year, please contact me at any time. We will be in Borken at the end of November, again. Best wishes Andres-

This might sound like quite a stupid question, but I see that on this website many AFOL's do a lot of different things with their Lego. I personally display my sets and I occasionally make some brickfilms. I thought it would be interesting to find the most popular AFOL activity! If you do more than one thing with your Lego (which most of you probably do) try and pick the thing you mainly do

So, Batman day was a while ago. And I made two MOCs that day. I posted them to Flickr and had the intentions of posting them on EB but didn't have the chance until now. I guess the builds will be in chronological order on when I built them but I don't think anyone would care too much for that. First up is Batman and Green Arrow vs Amygdala. The build is just a bank with a statue next to it. I was pretty happy with the posing and all, I wish I took the picture at a better angle so you could clearly see the roof but that's fine. There's not too much going on with it which kinda stinks because I wasn't sure how I'd make it more lively, especially in the center. I assumed an option could be raising the entire section with the bank and have the 4x16 space a road. But then the lamp would've crowded the build. So, it's a learning experience really. Next is Batman vs Ras Al Ghul. I think that this build was a lot better in the sense of depth and a mood. I have the grey which is supposed to be the original stone laid down by Ras for a floor, obviously some sand has consumed that. The tower is really simple. I wanted a building that was practical for the time it was built and how it'd hold up. There are obvious abnormal sections which really messed with me and my symmetry. Talia is up on a balcony. I thought it was a nice addition in a sense it needed some character for the building. And the fact that Talia is notably there for a good portion on Bruce and Ras' fights. I then added some rocks, the grey contrasts well in this build so that was nice. I also added a small dining section, these are two men of class so they'd likely have a meal before they fight. There's not much to add from that. So, which one was your favorite? C&C very welcomed. I'm always looking to improve.

Is it possible to buy MOCs? Where? With Instructions?
AlexJ posted a topic in General LEGO Discussion
Hi. I'm always very impressed and amazed with MOC creations but I'm the type who would just stick to building sets with instructions. Are there any users in Eurobricks or in the lego community who sell their MOCs? Where and how do i find them? And is there any chance that instructions would come with the MOC? Thanks. Alex -
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share an awesome MOC from my friend on Lego Ideas, nunki-psi. Nunki-psi was recently staff picked for another project, Medieval Pharmacy. Nunki-psi's newest project is a peddler's wagon with opening doors, a removable roof, many accessories, and amazing details and aesthetics. The link to it is here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/116646. Here also is a picture of it:

This is my fourth and final MOC revolving around Robin Hood, featuring Will Scarlet and Gamble Gold at an outpost, along with one of Prince John's soldiers. This outpost features a fake rock wall in the back which can be raised up to reveal two crates of treasure and two small barrels of food. These merry men can also raise the ladder to prevent any intruders. As with my other three Robin Hood MOCs, any feedback is much appreciated. If there is enough interest in this and my other Robin Hood MOCs, there is one more set I am considering making. This MOC is also a project on Lego Ideas. Feel free to support it here if you like it: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/110260 You can also see these and additional pictures in higher res on Flickr at https://www.flickr.c...157655824432309

I just got a Robin Hood themed set approved on Lego Ideas, at https://ideas.lego.c...rojects/108565. If you are interested in seeing more sets that work alongside Forestmen and Dark Forest sets, or are just a fan of Robin Hood in general, please support the project to show that we want more of this type of set. Feel free to leave any suggestions as well, and I will work to update the set based on these suggestions. The project includes Robin Hood, George a Greene, Bettris, Much the Miller's Son, and Sir Guy of Gisbourne. It also opens up (from a locked position) so that you can easily access the different levels of the tree, and includes several Robin Hood-like accessories. I have three future projects in the pipeline as well, revolving around Little John, Marian, and Will Scarlet. Lastly, do you know of other good places for me to share this project? Hello, everyone! I love building the Lego Castle sets, as well as making my own MOCs. I think castle hasn't been as much of a focus lately, perhaps because many (based on what I have heard) feel that castle keeps regurgitating old ideas. What does everyone else think? My MOCs have revolved around King arthur and Robin Hood, since these are two themes as of yet unexplored in the official Lego world. The Forestmen and Dark Forest sets do resemble Robin Hood though, and I like to collect these. If you are interested, I just got a Robin Hood project approved at Lego Ideas: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/108565 You can also see pictures of this and other MOCs on my Flickr account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/104046995@N05/sets Nice to see so much active discussion here!

When Alpha Team was in its prime, I wasn't "around" yet. It had been recently discontinued when I ran into the theme on the "product" page of LEGO®'s official website. I remember when I was younger how much I was into making action/adventure type sci-fi creations; and after recently stumbling into the game again, I remember why. I didn't enjoy the game as much I what inspired me within the game. There were giant secret base fortresses and other outposts that you infiltrated. And because nearly everything was made of LEGO® (besides the terrain), I was inspired to build such things as control panels, sliding doors, laser forcefields, and a whole lot of unorthodox vehicles. The physical sets I looked up were pretty cool, but not nearly as cool as they seemed in the game. Same thing happened when I played the last LEGO® Star Wars™ game they made, and watched some gameplay videos of the Batman™ game. Speaking of Batman™, I was equally as inspired by the old animated videos LEGO® had on their website back when they first released the theme: videos such as the one where The Penguin™ broke into a museum, via a giant rubber ducky, and stole a bunch of diamonds. I don't know… There's just something about seeing LEGO®s virtually come to life that make the little plastic gears in my head turn and inspires me to build. (I'm uncertain of where to put this topic, so I'll trust the mods will give it a good home) Anyone else get similar effects from these games?

I plan to display some creations at Brick 2015 in the UK. This will probably be the first display at a LEGO convention as well as purchasing specific parts for MOC's. I normally build on LEGO Digital Designer and occasionally build with actual bricks, examples can be seen here: Now for your help! I need to know what is the best way to purchase parts for LEGO MOC's, I plan to display some of my best creations that you guys have already seen as well as some new secret projects. What is the best option or cheapest way to build LEGO MOC's? Pick-A-Brick, buying multiple sets, Bricklink/Brickowl etc. One big problem I've come across is budget. I have acsses to just over £1100 from now until October. Should I spend all of it on creating MOC's for Brick2015 or should I mix it up and buy a few sets? Is it worth taking apart sets for specific parts, I own many LEGO Super Heroes sets as well as LEGO Ideas and D2C sets? I've been to Brick last year and saw many large layouts. What is the best size to build at? I would like to build some of my best MOC's I have already shown on Flickr. Any tips for smaller builds in similar sizes to official LEGO sets? I'm currently thinking of doing a large layout as the center piece to attract attention and have smaller builds on the side. What do you think? How do you guys plan in advance? Any other tips and ideas you guys have to help me with your past experiences of LEGO conventions and building MOC's? Any feedback and suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Adeel

Hey! What SW stuff do you wanna build in the future? On my list is this Y-B2 ugly, X-'ceptor, and the various concept snowspeeders. Y-B2 Snowspeeder concepts: X-'ceptor Thing I'll build with what's left for the excrement and excitement: More pics >> http://imgur.com/a/raBFL Pictures are appreciated, but if they don't exist and it's something you came up with on your own, just describe it! I would love to see all your ideas. Dammit, it cut off my thread title.
