    Lego Ideas reject Sci Fi

Hello all, I have recently uploaded to Lego Ideas my MoC of HMS Thunderchild vs a Martian fighting machine. It has been rejected three times now, I had tried to tone down the warfare, violence side of things but to no avail. I have got the standard Does not fit Lego Themes cut and paste - but for the life of me cannot work out what their issue was. There are other MoCs for war of the worlds including a far more violent cylinder vignette with burning Lego Minifigs. There are other warships -HMS Beagle is doing a great trade at the mo. Cannons and guns are features of many pirate, space and franchise MoCs. I'm stumped? https://www.facebook...866078816786527 is my Facebook page for the MoC. Cheers Derfel

  3. Hi, I'm new to Eurobricks! This site was recommended to me by an employee at a LEGO store - what better recommendation can you get than that? I visit Brickset pretty much every day, but am going to start using Eurobricks too. I'm an AFOL from Minnesota, USA, and have been enjoying building with LEGO bricks since I was a small child. I'm huge into Classic Space, but frankly it's hard for me to think of a type of LEGO that I don't like (other than maybe Jack Stone). My son is 10 years old and he loves playing with LEGO bricks too, so this is a hobby that we can enjoy together. The main thing I'm working on right now is my LEGO Ideas project inspired by my favorite book, "The Little Prince": https://ideas.lego.com/projects/50323. Only 75 days left to get another 4,281 votes.... Yeah, I'm stressing! Any ideas on how to promote the project? And, of course, if you like the concept, please vote for it! :-) Hopefully I did alright on my first post! Take care, Colin23 p.s., I should mention that I've partnered with glenbricker on the project. p.p.s., I should also mention that on my Flickr page the awesome custom minifigs come from Minifigs.Me.
  4. Hello! This is my Lego Ideas Jason and the Argonauts set. You can find and show any support for it here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/89025 It's based on the classic film Jason and the Argonauts made in 1963. The scene is based towards the ending of the film in which Jason encounter the Hydra which guards the Golden Fleece and then fights seven skeletons which are born from the teeth of the Hydra some minutes later. The special effects of the film where made by the Legendary special effects animator and pioneer Ray Harryhausen which I managed to meet before he passed away in 2013. This set is basically a tribute to the classic film which still stands up well today and of course to Ray himself. The tree which hosts the Golden Fleece on one of it's branches. Some views of the 7 headed Hydra. The Minifigures.
  5. Hello! This is my attempt at a movie accurate representation of the Geonosis Arena beasts in Lego! I made the design in LDD and Rendered them with Pov-ray since I wanted to be able to use any peice in any color that I needed for the design. If you want this to be a real set make sure to leave a support here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/92060 on the LEGO Ideas website. This is the set which I always wanted from when I saw Attack of the Clones in 2002 from when I was a small kid. Whats yours? By the way I want to know what you would do if Lego made this set. Would you buy it? If so would you display it? Use it's parts to make something else? Play? I would make a Stop-Motion based on all of the Geonosis Arena battle. I would of done it already with the less detiled designs that I got but I want to wait and see if I can reach the projet goal.
  6. Hi Everyone, I recently posted my massive Rivendell Moc on the LEGO Ideas page after downsizing it. I have updated the project with 7 different buildings from the display totaling 2800 pieces. I'm hoping that maybe one, two, or several of the builds gets approval since 2800 is still a lot of pieces. This project consists of: -Feasting Hall & Watch Tower- approx. 701 pieces -Library- approx. 784 pieces -Elrond's Study- approx. 272 pieces -White Council- approx. 44 pieces -Bridge Building- approx. 200 pieces -Gazebo- approx. 36 pieces -Entrance Tower- approx. 299 pieces -Platform- approx. 196 pieces -Bridge- approx. 63 pieces -Moon Rune- approx. 89 pieces -Tree- approx. 47 pieces -Entire Set with minifigs and accessories- approx. 2800 pieces Rivendell is such an iconic scene that deserves more than the 243 piece set we got 2 years ago. Any feedback is appreciated and thanks for supporting. The Lego Ideas page here https://ideas.lego.com/projects/91654 More high res pics of Rivendell here https://www.flickr.c.../127491317@N08/

    Review: LEGO Ideas #007 Exosuit

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to LEGO for sending me this wonderful set, and to Eurobricks for letting me do this review. When I first heard this was going to be a set, designed by Mark Stafford no less, I was super excited to see what he would do for us. When the wonderful promo video was posted last week, it looked better than I had hoped. Set Information: Name: Exosuit Set Number: 21109 Pieces: 321 Price: $34.99 Ages: 12+ Minifigs: 2 Theme: LEGO Ideas Year of Release: 2014 Brickset Flickr Set Box: The front of the box has a moon background, along with what appears to be a space base. (Though possibly the space ship where the Exosuit was discovered) It also features the Exosuit logo, and the LEGO Ideas logo. Let me say now that I was surprised at how small the box was. There is very little extra room in this box. The back shows an alternate image for the set as well as the names for the astronauts; Pete and Yve. Along the left hand side, there's a small blurb about how the LEGO Ideas program works. And the 1:1 image is of Pete our first Classic Green Spaceman! Contents: There were four bags in the box, along with two loose pieces. I'm naming this printed tile the "Mark Stafford." I just love the print so much. Can you believe this is my first one??? The new plant bowls are pretty neat too. And here are our extra parts. The number of extra parts surprised me actually. Manual: The front of the manual has the same image as the box. It also shows the sheer number of languages that this manual is printed with. Seriously, it's a lot. And note that this manual is bound nicely like the Architecture theme. The first page goes into detail about the making of the set, this page also shows some classic space sets. The second page has more details about the making of the set as well as Mark and Pete. The next four tell the back story that, I assume, Pete created for the model, accompanied by some lovely pictures. The manual is printed in black and I had no problems with coloring. Every few pages, there is a small picture and some text describing all of the parts that are on the Exosuit. One of the last pages goes much more into detail about the LEGO Ideas process. We have a new WIN! image! I think this minifigure looks much more like an AFOL. Minifigures: Here we have Pete and Yve! They're your typical neo-classic space men. There's really not a whole lot to Class Spacemen. No back print, or double sided heads. The Build: After the minifigures you build the turtle. It's great to see one of Pete's more popular MOCs in a LEGO set. Then the little stand thingy. And lastly you get to the suit! First you build the body Then the legs. And lastly the arms. Then your Exo Suit is complete! Finished Model: And the completed set! I was expecting just the suit, but I won't say no to one of Pete's turtle bots as well as an extra astronaut. The turtle just looks great. Mark threw just enough silver parts in to make it look mechanical. The only problem I have is the guns aren't big enough. I'm not sure what to call this other than a play feature; because that's all it adds to the set. For how simple it is, I think it looks pretty damn good. Front view. Wow, it just looks SO good! The greebling is perfect, the color blocking is good, and Mark did a great job hiding the various Technic/Bionicle parts the make up the joints. Side view. I think this is the worst possible view for this set. You can see all of the connecting bits. And the back. It's obviously not supposed to be viewed from behind, but I think it doesn't actually look too bad. Were you starting to wonder where this was? It's just such a sweet piece and I actually didn't have any before now. Most of the greebeling is here; so here's a close up of the wonderful work Mark did with this. It is very flexible, allowing for wonderful poses like this one. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this guy. Took a little balancing, but I did manage to pose this way too. The hands work quite well, he has no problem holding the barrels. This is the closest thing I have to a LEGO mecha built right now. Wow that Ent is big. Conclusion: Have I mentioned how much I love this set? I can't imagine what else I would add to this to make it better. It's just that good. The greebling is excellent, the pose-ability is great, and it just looks awesome. I think this would make a great discussion pieces on ones desk at work. Great job Mark, Pete, and the LEGO team! I already planning on getting a second. Ratings: Playability: 8/10 For what it is, it's pretty sturdy and I can see a child playing with this. Design: 7/10 I took a few points off here because it isn't exactly like Pete's original model, but it's still great. Price: 10/10 $35 seems perfect for this set. Minifigures: 9/10 I am just in love with the Green Classic Spacemen. Parts: 8/10 This set not only gives you a great main model, but it's an excellent parts pack too. Total: 42/50 "When is it my turn?!" Like this review? Want to learn how to make good reviews? Then join the Reviewers Academy!

  11. Hi everyone! I've recently rediscovered my passion for Lego and Lego Classic Space in particular. As a child I played hours and hours with my LL 928 (which I still have!) and the rest of my space sets like the Mega Core Magnetize and such. I can fondly remember the countless times created my own designs and swooshed them proudly through the room trying not to step on the loose bricks on the floor ;-). And of all the sets I own from my childhood the LL 928 is the one that is engraved in my memory as being the most fun and iconic of them all. Recently my mother gave me a box with all my lego bricks from when I was young and the first thing that I wanted to rebuild was, sure enough, my Galaxy Explorer. And I did! It might look a bit scuffed in some places but I didn't care, this one was mine! All the little scratches on it represent the fun I had with it ;-) Immediately after that I went on the Lego website to see if they had something like that in their vast collection on offer... and while I did buy Benny's Spaceship and had a great time building it I couldn't see myself tearing it apart to build something new or even just add stuff on to make it look even better. Now, don't get me wrong, Benny's Spaceship is great but it's too fixed in what it is. It was time for me too try and do something about it and I started designing my own new versions of the LL 918, 924 and 928. Sadly, I don't own a vast number of bricks but that's were LDD came in! And now, they're finished! (except for the LL 918 redesign, I'm still working on that little ship). First up is my LL 930 Galaxy Explorer! It's a pretty standard build, not too difficult but still fun. The goal was that any child from around 6 years should be able to build it him/herself with minimum help from dad or mom ;-). It takes some styling cues from Benny's Spaceship and from the original Galaxy Explorer to make it instantly recognizable. There are a few "hidden" compartments, one for the "engine bay" and one is a storage compartment. The cargo bay features a science station and room for the rover. It is not jampacked with weapons on purpose. Benny's ship was too battle oriented to my liking so I set the timeframe of all my ships after Lord Business was defeated and space exploration could resume as normal. Total brick count is 770. Then there's my LL 925 Mk3 Light Reconnaissance Spaceship! (I know, the name is to long...) As you can see it's much smaller but retains a lot of details. My first version was without a ramp but someone pointed out that the rover had now way of getting in the ship so I added one. The total brick count is around 300. Let me know what you think about it! If you like my ideas and would like to see them in your nearest Lego Store then please vote for them on Lego Ideas! LL 925 LL 930 Thanks in advance! Olivier V
  12. I've always wanted a copy of the Sailboat painting that hangs behind the Simpsons family couch, but I can't paint or draw. So this is the next best thing. :) What do you think? If you want to support it the link is here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88400
  13. I came across this cute Lego project I wanted to share with you. I have the impression western themes in general are not so popular? This project is a bit more than just another western topic. What do you think of western themes? Are they in or out? As to my last thread concerning Goblin Fortress in Lego Ideas I agree with Kodan Black, Lord Dan and the_Cook. What are your comments on Lego Pueblo? I tried to make a screenshot of one of the pics for you. Hope the quality is good enough, if not, well you got the link: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/74687 Cheers P.S. I found another interesting project in Lego Ideas which I would like to share with you. I am curious what you will say to that one. In time I will post.
  14. It's here! Or, rather, over there, at LEGO® IDEAS. Thanks for checking this train project out. If you like it, I'd appreciate your support vote at the IDEAS project page. Can you smell the coal, oil, steam, and pine? Can you feel the crisp chill in the air against the warm aroma of spiced cider and nutmeg atop a mug of nog? This project awaits approval, after which your support would be greatly appreciated to enable potential production and begin revenue service. Check back in about one week for additional "Winter Village Express" train project details and get your ticket to travel back in time on a winter holiday as this project goes "live" on LEGO IDEAS. "Tickets, please." ;-) Thanks for checking it out. sincerely, James Mathis
  15. just saw this moc on Lego Ideas. You might know it from Moc Pages, where I got the pic from. I still have to vote for it but I got to go. I just wanted to ask you a question. How many bricks do you think this moc might have. Does it stand a chance in the review, or would it be too expensive to be produced? On the other side, the moc as such looks great. Survey - and discussion - about LEGO Ideas

Hello Eurobrickers! I'm a Master's student from Denmark, and I'm currently researching how and why people use the LEGO Ideas platform. With regard to that I've made a survey, which is right here, and I would be very grateful if you would fill it out. In addition to that, I thought we could use this thread for a general discussion about LEGO Ideas. What do you think about the platform, and how do you use it? What do you think about the sets that have come out of it so far? Thank you all very much!
  17. Hey guys! Sorry if it seems like I'm botting all the forums for Lego Ideas votes. I'm just using Lego Ideas to host my image sources, so it usually coincides with one of my Lego Ideas projects. Right now, I just completed work on the Polar Express- a 1/78 scale model of a Pere Marquette 1225 2-8-4 Berkshire steam locomotive. It has a coal shunter, 4 passenger cars, and a caboose. Right now the locomotive is painted mainly black with stone grey accents, and the cars are painted black, navy blue, and classic red. If I built it in real life right now, it'd have a astonishing length of about 5 feet/1.6 meters, and only contain 1,697 pieces. This is mainly due to the fact that it's built using 6X34 train plates and 1X16 beams for the base below the car interior. Every single car is built with a modular roof that can be detached for playability inside the train, and the same goes for the actual locomotive. It's capable of holding 42 passengers, if you don't include the chefs and conductor who'll be standing and traveling between the cars. Here are some pictures of the train: The front view of the whole train: The view of the back of the caboose and observation area: View of one of the cars: View of the Entire Train: Whats funny is it's literally so large I couldn't photograph it any larger without displaying the whole screen and UI around it. Cross Section of a Train Car With Adjustable seats: Rear View of a Train Car: Mid View of the Train from Behind: Anyways, I hope I could receive some feedback on this. It's my first actual try at a Lego Train, so there are obviously some areas where I can improve. Also, when the project is approved within the week, it's called The Polar Express on Lego Ideas, and it'll be posted by my account there, LegoGuyLOL4Ever. If anyone is interested, I'm also attaching a copy of the Lego Digital Designer file to this. If you try to build it IRL, it might be expensive due to the amount of Navy Blue. polar express 2.0 copy.lxf

    [MOC] Batman Beyond Batmobile

Hello! I'm here with a new MOC! In LDD I created a Batmobile. But not any Batmobile... Batman Beyond's Batmobile. With this being a unique asset to Batman and it's an overlooked yet popular variant of the Batmobile. Yet we still haven't gotten one. That's where LEGO Ideas kicks in gear. Anyways you want to see the MOC now! Here is an areal view of the Batmobile. Clocking in at about 330 pieces. This is an unstoppable force of justice when fighting futuristic gangs! The picture I like showing off is this one. Just the main view of the Batmobile and it's glory! And here's the rear view! Thanks for looking at my MOC! Feedback would be great and so would a support for the project! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/81793

    Mini Lego Sea Cow

MINI LEGO SEA COW LDD 17B Hey guys! Thought I might want to share my first Pirates MOC. I was looking at some of the relatively few mini models of the Sea Cow from the lego movie, when I noticed something. They were all extremely good, (especially the one here on Eurobricks) but they were all too small. So I built my own. A full front view of it. Obviously the sail details aren't perfect, but I did my best. You can see the shaping of the hull, which I did using numerous hinges and SNOT techniques. The bowsprit on the front is constructed using hinges, 1X3 plates, and rounded slopes. The entire inside of the ship is semi-accessible, but the size makes interior detailing difficult. Sorry about the inconsistencies in the images. The first one was taken before I updated the Lego Ideas page. A better view of the back half of the ship, as well as the chair. The rear deck of the ship, as well as a partial view of the upper cabins in the ship. Visit the link below if you want to vote for it on Lego Ideas. https://ideas.lego.c...s/79307/updates
  24. In the spirit of racing, exploration, and competition, classic themes from throughout the history of space, town-- and whatever theme you dream-- engage in a desperate search for G.E.M.S., the dark energy of the Universe, and answers to legendary secrets... Ok, maybe not, but maybe you'll like these futuristic formula-style racers in the style of Classic Space, Blacktron, and, uhm, Octan. These craft are descendants of my answer to an age-old call during the LEGO Universe LUP days, as seen in a CES 2010 game promo video. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/78737 Thanks for checking it out, supporting, if so compelled, Aloha James Mathis
