Hmmm! Didn't think 1896 counted as modern? Shame I really enjoyed the build.

    Lego Ideas reject Sci Fi

Piece count it is in the same league as HMS Beagle. It is big but could easily be scaled down, It's not the final selection I'm worried about they won't even allow it on the forum.

    Lego Ideas reject Sci Fi

Hello all, I have recently uploaded to Lego Ideas my MoC of HMS Thunderchild vs a Martian fighting machine. It has been rejected three times now, I had tried to tone down the warfare, violence side of things but to no avail. I have got the standard Does not fit Lego Themes cut and paste - but for the life of me cannot work out what their issue was. There are other MoCs for war of the worlds including a far more violent cylinder vignette with burning Lego Minifigs. There are other warships -HMS Beagle is doing a great trade at the mo. Cannons and guns are features of many pirate, space and franchise MoCs. I'm stumped? https://www.facebook...866078816786527 is my Facebook page for the MoC. Cheers Derfel

    Problems using LDD

If anyone else has this problem in the future - I rebuilt the model next door and slowly dismantled the old one. I erased a section of door and the whole thing snapped into ghost mode, wouldn't stick but at least showed me which part was causing the problem - what happened is while using hinge tool to close a door. I must have hit the align button in error because I had aligned the whole model to the new door's slightly offset angle. It then crashed trying to sort it out. Easiest just to rebuild - found loads of shortcuts and better bricks.

    Problems using LDD

Almost worked the whole model snapped back into line, but only in ghost mode it wouldn't connect with the new brick. Where is the alignment function, isn;t it all automatic? I saw this and thought 'oh no' then I thought hang on 'rebuild!' cool.

    Interesting news story

Apparently there are few bricks to unimaginative reporting 1/ find something people like 2/ say something outrageous to get your click ratio up 3/ Ask one expert (who probably gave you the idea) and hack out a 'better in't old days line!' This sort of stuff gets my goat - there is nothing stopping anyone from buying a bucket or two of blocks and going for it the old fashioned way. so all we have is a Meccano fan saying he prefers his stuff. Cutting edge.
  9. Having just discovered the time altering properties of LDD and spent much of the weekend building with abandon, I find myself in a muddle. I couldn't get some parts to fix to the main model as they couldn't align - even though they had previously done so. I found that the main model has veered about 5 deg to the left of true on the underlying grid. I can't find a reset or snap to grid, my saved version has the same problem and I don't know how it crept in there. Any suggestions?? Derfel.
  10. Hello, Ive just joined because I've started to use LDD and seem to have got in a muddle. I'm looking for advice on how to re-align my whole design to the underlying grid it's gone off at about 5deg left of true. It means I can't add pieces as they won't align with the model. Very frustrating, my saved copy had the exact same problem. Any Ideas?? Derfel
