    AoM: Wall phase 1

So here is the first of some incoming builds. I wanted to create a wooden wall without pallisade bricks, I think I succeeded. (Quite partsconsuming though :) ) This was the first time I ever touched those 3-leave plants, I just ordered them and never had them before, so I had to try how to work with them. (apparently they are much more flexible than I imagined) The trumpet is gonna pop up a lot, I play it myself so I love that brick. It is also my first real shot on an irregular base, I think it turned out fine, but it could have been much smoother. I actually want to create my own settlement, im working on a story for it right now, this will be included too. (I know, the 4 categories for a hamlet all need to be fullfilled, lots of work to do :D) Wall0-2 by David de Rijke, on Flickr Wall0-1 by David de Rijke, on Flickr Wall0-3 by David de Rijke, on Flickr Wall0-4 by David de Rijke, on Flickr Wall0-5 by David de Rijke, on Flickr (and this is where I use yellow rounds for)
  2. My entry into the Desert Kings challenge, opposing the Desert King. The second MOC down is the one I am entering. On his way to visit his friend Eredhalion on Peregrinus, Lord Parimere and a band of his High Council supporters have been captured by a band of the Desert Kings soldiers. Intent on transporting him to the capital for trial for treason against the Desert King, little do the guards realise, they are the ones who are now being hunted. As they approach the Akhenaten delta, the Desert King’s forces are caught in a surprise attack of Lord Parimeres friends and fellow High Council supporters. They managed to free Parimere but are unable to free the rest of the prisoners before the Desert King’s soldiers rally and repulse there attackers, forcing them to flee into the delta. As the convoy approaches Petrea, part of the force of guards departs to swiftly travel ahead to bring news of there coming, the tables are turned and the remaining guards are sent fleeing to the capital by a group of cavalry. Little do they know that the force of cavalry is made up of only three war horses, the rest are steads borrowed from supportive locals, and are just used for intimidation. Anxious to save his honour, the captain of the cowardly guards exaggerates the size of the cavalry, leading the new ruler of Kaliphlin to send his forces to capture a large force of cavalry. Little does he know that the ‘large force’ has already returned there mounts to there local allies. They have already returned to Castle Parimere, hidden near the inland sea.

    Frost Dragons

An improved version of my ice dragon model from December last year. This one is stronger, using mixed joints and the wings are further forward. In my opinion it look a lot better then the original one, which can be seen here- https://www.flickr.c...ve/23381215452/ . This was part of my display for the Sydney Brick Show (16th & 17th of April).

    Proof of power

I realized it is 1st of may today. Do not expect too much here, this is an older build collab with my 10y/o brother, I tried some building techniques here (walls that are a half stud deeper, orange wall/ 'toilet') and was left with too little time and bricks to finish it, But I brought my minifigs and prepared this castle for a quick story before the due date :D I just agreed at the homefront that I'll need a better camera and that I will make a lego studio somewhere. My next build will be small and detailed instead of big and too little bricks:) I tried to edit these pictures but I fail with photoshop :) So, enough self-negativity and I hope you like the story progressing :D Oh by the way, I finally purchased some flags in the ríght colors (green/yellow), so now I can show my own allegiance as well. Part one Swearing Allegiance Bull's Eye Fortress After the arrival of the strangers, it was done with the quiet in the Bull's Eye. 'My king, the men are not happy with your decision. They don't trust these strangers, and some are preaching to revolt.' With these words Davok disturbed Ryban in his private room. Ryban stood there, gazing to his weapons hanging on the wall, where first the picture of his wife shined, before she disappeared. They looked outside, and indeed, it seemed like the assembled men grew angry. Some abused the fact they had to muster to speak to all the Bulls at once. Then, suddenly, the guards all blew their trumpets. A band of warriors was sighted, heading to the fortress. They carried Kaliphlin banners. The envoy from Nocturnus saw them, and they headed to the gate, shouting that these men came for them, and thus they would deal with them. While his guard prepared his axe, the envoy seemed like he was channeling something. Flames seemed to grew from his hands, and from the inside of the walls sounded yells, both terrifying and enthousiastic shouts. Then he put his hands together, and a beam of flames was aimed towards the attackers, creating a fiery zone before their feet. None of them was burned, nonetheless. They turned around and started to run, apparently it was not that good an idea to invade this fortress. Loud cheers sounded from the battlements, as the Bulls saw they could trust these strangers. Davok realized that all of the invaders had seemed quite northern, none of them had a tan colored skin. Also, the envoy said he knew the attackers even before he could see in that direction. Something seemed wrong here, somehow he had the idea there was something going on... Post was too large, More pictures:

    Storm in the North

The Bay of Seals. An inhospitable body of water even in the midst of summer. In the early weeks of spring, it is a positively murderous expanse of icy blue. It was not a particularly inviting place to come ashore, but it was not dusk of the second day since the Blanchefleur had foundered east of the Bay of Seals. The wind had driven hard from the north, and rather than fight against it to reach the mouth of the Bearclaw River and the port of Nordheim, the castaway had rowed south, coming ashore in an inlet on the east bank of Gronnfjord, the westernmost tributary of the Bay. The ground was hard rock - sheltered for the most part from the weather by the steep sides of the fjord, there was little sand on the beach, merely a rugged slope of gray stone, broken somewhat by small plants, and no doubt exposed by whatever cataclysm had cut the Gronnfjord into the into the land. A chilly, damp wind, bearing with it an icy tinge of the bay, swept up as the lone, weary traveler laid the oars on the rowing bench and climbed stiffly out onto dry land. He lifted a wooden staff from the bottom of the boat. It was taller than he, completely smooth and straight save for a large knot at one end. He settled the staff in his left elbow as he pulled his cloak tighter around himself and pulled down his weather-beaten hat. He reached back under the cloak and checked the position of several items strapped to his back, then stood erect and looked around him. The failing light of the sun revealed a path, not perhaps comfortable but at least safe, winding its way up the side of the fjord. Gripping the staff in his gloved right hand, the traveler climbed the beach, leaving the rowboat hanging by a few rocks under its keel. The first good rain or strong wind would dislodge it, but the traveler did not care. Where he was going now, he would have no need for this rowboat. Many long leagues lay between him and his destination, and doubtless many perils and adventures. The fate of one small Avalonian rowboat mattered little to him. At long last, he returned to his homeland, Mitgardia, but for how long and to what end remained to be seen.
  6. This is my entry to the Desert King's Nocturnus Crusade mini-challenge Changing Allegiance (again) The notorious mercenary company "The Arkbri Falcons", under the command of Ediz Falconi, were fighting for the High Council during the Kaliphlin Civil War. They have however decided that at the moment joining the forces of the Desert King presents the most likely prospect for hoards of gold at a moderate risk. Mounted on camels, the Arkbri Falcons are now following one of Kaliphlin's ancient paved roads on their way to Sultan's Gate. They will meet up with forces from all over Kaliphlin to support the Desert King in his crusade to return Nocturnus to it's rightful rulers. Falconi leading his troops.
  7. There once was a tower near a river in the woods of Avalonia, an outpost of soldiers. The outpost is constantly ravaged by nature and bandit raids, so after many years, the commander finally decided that it is not worth the effort or resources and ordered his troops to another location, abandoning the nearly ruined outpost to its fate. Due to its strategic position nearby a busy road, Forestmen wasted no time to take over the abandoned tower. As skilled in stealth and marksmenship as Forestmen are, they aren't expert carpenters or builders, so the tower never reached to its former glory, but after a few repairs and extensions the place became livable enough, as well as allowing its new occupants to flee into the safety of the forest through the bridge if needed. [Moc] Planning Room

Hey everyone Here is my latest MOC made for GOH.. The Planning Room. Today, members discuss further exploration into unknown lands. A chandelier hangs from wooden supports, as well as the colours of Avalonia, dark and light green. Members discuss exploration A once great leader As always, all constructive criticism is welcome. Thanks, ~Pat

    Prison Break

In the farthest corner of Nocturnus, in a desolate, barren clump of rocks, a wooden tower stretched just over the horizon, visible to all near and far, but seemingly impassable. Two Drow soldiers stood guard at the base of this structure - well, not exactly stood guard! They lay slumped against the rocks, bottles clutched in their hands, drunken and tired. When Berelan Gryffen, lord of the Mitgardian county of Stormhold, opened his eyes, he didn't know where he was. His last memory was of a far-away Avalonian outpost, of a fierce battle between the Drow and the local soldiers. Now he was lying on a bare, earthy floor, his clothes in tatters and chains around his hands. Weakly, he struggled into a sitting position... and then he realised he wasn't alone in the cell... A Tigris, by the looks of it - part human, part feline in appearance, with a mane of black hair and its teeth bared in a grimace. As Berelan raised his head, the creature's eyes narrowed, "So you're finally awake. Been waiting two weeks for this..." Berelan managed to gasp, "I mean you no harm..." but was met with a harsh, gravelly laugh from the Tigris, "I'm not going to hurt you, ekshalar. You'd better thank me, because I could've escaped two weeks ago, when I broke the clasp on my chains. But I couldn't leave you here- those vhhskarn would have made you suffer for my escape. Who are you, and where are you from?" Somewhat relieved but still wary, Berelan replied, "I'm from Mitgardia... my name's Berelan. You?" Without replying, the Tigris moved over to Berelan's chains and yanked them out of the wall with a contemptuously little amount of force, "Them Black Spire vhhskarn don't know what they're in for. I'll bet they've never even seen a Tigris before. Name's Tskerr, by the way. I'm with the Nocturnus Resistance. Now let's get a move on - I'm sick of this place!" Drunkenly, one of the Drow guards rose to check on the prisoners. They'd been paid a lot by a cloaked stranger calling himself Xaris to do this, and they'd spent the money on fine Nocturnian liquor. This turned out to be his undoing. As the guard stumbled along the path, he noticed a blurry, reddish-brown shape leaping from rock to rock, a length of chains swinging from its hand... Tskerr suddenly leapt at the guard, crushing him to the ground with brute strength. Berelan, emerging from behind a rock, saw the second guard draw his sword and advance on the oblivious Tigris... ...so he grabbed a conveniently nearby scorpion and threw it at the Drow! Pleased with their handiwork, the two escapees proceeded to don the guards' clothes, passing as Black Spire enforcers to all who met them. Time was of the essence - the resistance was growing and soon things would come to a brutal and bloody head.... [sorry for the lengthy story; C&C welcome!]
  10. Lord Vladivus

    Snakes, Falcons and the Dead.

The clash of metal on metal emanated from the inner citadel, as the leaderless Shadowmere Guard followed the last command the fallen Necromancer, Krell had channelled through his staff: ATTACK! For weeks now, the remaining living troops had been embroiled in skirmishes with the undead. It was all coming to a head- Lady Sithanna and Sir Eothain the Insane lead the offensive, holding the famed Obsidian Road. Predating the founding of Shadowmere, it lead to a central island where the main citadel was located. This island was ringed by roiling lava flows, making it easy to defend. The fighting was hard and fierce, but with a sudden speed, the Shadowmere Guard ceased combat. The forces of Sithanna and Eothain gathered themselves, and the two leaders ventured out onto the bridge. Standing before them was the traitor, Fenrir Bloodcloak, accompanied by warriors of both Nocturnus and Avalonia, and bearing the staff of Krell. That's why the zombies stopped fighting, he has control of them, thought Sithanna, careful to keep her shock hidden, "Why are you here traitor?" asked Sithanna. "This is my home Sithanna. Not yours or your pet birds. I come with the forces of Dronds Feelds to restore order to this mighty citadel. Even now they assault the walls, and the Shadowmere Guard. I will remove the corruption at it's heart." replied the wolf. "Corruption? I suppose an agent of the Spire knows all about corruption!" snapped Sithanna, her anger palpable. "Why don't we ask one then?" growled Fenrir, turning to Eothain. The Black Falcon reacted with great speed, leaping at Fenrir who barely had time to raise his axe to block the lightning blow that descended. Their blades clashed, but Fenrir uttered words in an ancient tongue and levelled Krell's staff at the Falcon. A blinding flash and a puff of smoke appeared and Fenrir was thrown back. As the smoke cleared, it became clear that another creature stood in the Falcon's place- a crowned snake wielding a mighty scythe. The snake fought simply to escape, and as Sithanna joined the duel, he forced his way though Fenrir's forces, faster than anyone could catch. Fenrir then bowed before Sithanna. "I am truly sorry my lady. Eothain was never truly ours. He has manipulated us from the beginning. I... I have done things I am not proud of. Vladivus is slain, on his orders, by my hand. Without the staff of Krell, Shadowmere would have fallen. An iron fist is needed to keep the warriors of the Shadowmere in line. The creature posing as Eothain was the self-styled "KIng of Snakes", an agent of the Black Spire. There are few as degenerate as him gods be thankful..." Sithanna interrupted him at this point; "We have much to discuss. Follow me." She had realised that regardless of who Fenrir was, without the Falcons, who seemed to have vanished, her Manbats would be unable to match Fenrir's forces. He had won this battle. Fenrir turned to a ghostly warrior beside him. "Come old friend, lets go home."
  11. Hey everyone Decided to build a section of a library for GOH. The first floor has some bookshelves, desk and a statue. Second floor is more of a "cat-walk", which displays shields, weapons and the colors of Avalonia. As always, both positive and negative criticism is welcome. Thanks all for reading/viewing. ~Pat
  12. Hey everyone After settling in the furthest west of Avalonia, these three set up a small house close to the cliff edge. The Avalonian colors fly near the entrance of the house (And as decoration at the bottom). Still new to the land, they take their time exploring different locations and plan to expand their settlement here. As always, all feedback is welcome! A closer look at the landscape and front of the building. Looking forward to posting more here in Guilds of Historica. Thanks all for your time! ~Pat

    Fdrjornol the Dragon

Fdrjornol is a legendary dragon to the Mitgardian clansfolk. They believe this dragon was responsible for clearing snow for the first clanspeople to build a settlement. It is believed that the dragon watched over them for centuries until returning to the mountain caves he calls home. The Elders of several clans prophesize that one day, when the clans are in grave danger, the dragon will return and save them, and scorch the lands of their enemies. I hadn't built a creature in a while, so I built this massive guy for the Tourney, a castle contest on Mocpages. Hope you like this little guy!

    Stopping the Cold

A few Algus stragglers( I guess they didn't get the memo that the challenge is over) force their way into Avalonia, leaving an icy trail of destruction in their wake. Luckily Lord Dan has rallied his forces and they make a stand on the border of Araluen against these Frozen Invaders. The Araluen Town Guards are having a little too much fun with their job. Extra pictures: This was going to be my Cat C build for the Frozen Beyond challenge, but I ran out of time before the deadline. Im actually glad I missed it because it allowed me to spend more time fully developing the build instead of rushing it, and besides it didn't have much chance against all the awesome entries in that category anyway. Also I couldn't decide between black or white background for the main shot, and both have pros and cons so I included both. I also finally made a new outfit for Dan, so he has something to wear besides full armor all the time. Comments and Criticism are welcome. Thanks

    The Forest Gate

As the power of the Algus is beginning to wane, merchants, traders and travellers are starting to travel from Kaliphlin to the north now that the roads are no threatened by the Algus. My last build in the north of Historica for a while. I'm going back to Kaliphlin for warmer weather!
  16. The title is supposed to be Frost Wolf Hunt, could a mod please fix that? Deep in Mitgardia a trio of the famed Kaliphlin Fire Mages find themselves fighting for their lives against an ancient menace from the Frozen Beyond, a Frost Wolf. Long believed to be extinct, only one other has even been seen, and that one was a heavily evolved descendant of the pack that left the frozen beyond centuries ago. In contrast, this wolf has lost none of the ancient power its ancestors possessed and is a force to be reckoned with. New vs Original Notes: It was fun to reimagine one of my first builds, and I'm really happy with how it turned out, although the wolf is really fragile and it fell apart almost constantly. C and C appreciated
  17. Here's my entry for Category A of the Frozen Beyond contest. Hoping to get over our argument, I reluctantly agreed to accompany Gremlon on a trip to Mitgardia. Our destination was Falcon Manor - a vital fortress that was untouched by the Algus. Until now... After my last few small builds, it was nice to build a slightly larger moc again. The main technical challenge in this MOC was the rounded wall - it's a technique I've used only once before (in Zelpunra's Tower), and the fact that I built that section in about 2 days (rather than 1-2 months) made it particularily difficult. The right wooden section also had some tricky half-stud offsets that required a bit of subtle upside-down building. I also haven't done many snowy builds (I think the last time I did one was early 2014) so that was fun, used most of my collection of curved slopes. On a side note, photography was tricky with white on white. I really need to get a good light blue/grey/black background... Enjoy! Thanks for viewing!
  18. My entry to Category C of the Frozen Beyond Contest Before the Algus arrived, Morkerna was a bright isle, warm and peaceful. But then the Algus came. Morkerna has been reduced to a frozen wasteland. And it is to this scene that I come, returning from my adventures in Mitgardia. The land is desolate, cold, destroyed. Anger brews within me as I turn and see a pair of Algus walking toward me. I look for anything I could use as a weapon, but there is nothing. Frustrated, I grab the first thing I find - a flower - and throw it at them. The two stop. A horrified expression comes to their face. Could it be? I grab another blossom and throw it. And, to my utter surprise, it happens again: the algus seem stunned. Grinning, I begin bombarding them with flowers, watching as they fall to the ground, moaning. It seems that the way to defeat death is through life. This was a fun pair of builds! Showing both how the Algus are changing the weather and how to stop them is a challenging task to combine together, so I decided that the former half would be most effectively captured with a before and after. I was originally going to try to do a minifigure scale version of the watermill for the "after" scene, but I couldn't come up with a waterwheel design that I liked (and it ended up that I wouldn't have had time for that idea anyway), so I decided to replicate part of the landscape in the back corner instead. The second build (snowy scene) was quite rushed, but I'm still quite pleased with how the snow and rocks turned out, and I learned from last time to use a blue background The snow and rocks are both surprisingly complex, with tons of SNOT and offsetting. At one point while building the rocks, half of it exploded, and the complexity was so great that I actually had to look at a WIP photo to see how it all went together (and even with the photo, it was still tough to figure out how to put it all back together) The other MOC was designed around that house design, which I came up with during the summer but never actually tested until last month. This build is much more complex than it looks, which is partially why it ended up taking almost 2 months to build... The micro watermill is based on the use of a bar as a corner beam. After that, the rest comes together with some SNOTted tiles and fiddly techniques. The roof, connected with a few clips, was one of the hardest parts. I also really like the look of the river next to it; the SNOT allows for some smooth shaping, and the slope looks pretty nice too. The windmill is a bit simpler, but it was still pretty hard to get a nice tapered shape with a variety of tiny round structure techniques. (this moc is also on Lego Ideas; support it here!) Overall I'm pretty pleased with how these mocs turned out. Hope you like them
  19. Lord Vladivus

    The Wolf and the Knights.

Fenrir had travelled for days from Port Wrath to reach this point. What he was about to do could easily see him killed. He laughed to himself under his breath. A smallholding in the Trifork. A peaceful place. Not the warriors death he would hope for. The soldiers at the house had directed him behind the house. After he had laid down his arms whilst he was several hundred metres away. The staff he kept; "You would not deny an old wolf his staff to lean upon?" he had called. Behind the house, he had found Beorthan, Mayor of the Trifork hard at work planning battles in a small clearing. Beorthan: "You are a traitor Fenrir. I am sure Shadowmere would pay greatly for your head. No doubt your betrayal lead to Vladivus' death. Submit to me, and I promise I will see you to Shadowmere to stand trial." Fenrir's nostrils flared: "A welcome no frostier than I expected. I have not come to surrender, but to rather ask your aid." Beorthan: "Aid? you shall have none from me." Fenrir spoke then at length, imparting many secrets to the Mayor, and outlining his plan. Beorthan was almost swayed, but he knew his people must come first. Beorthan: "The Trifork has an alliance now with Shadowmere, and even as we speak, my friends are confirming that alliance once again. If I support you, I would be breaking my word to Shadowmere. My people would not be forgiving- they look to me to lead them in a time of peril." Fenrir: "Rarrrgh, I should've known better than to seek aid from you damnable tight wearers." He turned to stride away. Beorthan: "Fenrir! Wait! I did not say I would not aid you. Whilst I cannot give you the men you ask for, I can suggest that you seek out Alric of Dronds Feelds. He may be willing to ally with you." With this new plan, Fenrir travelled to Dronds Feelds. The wolf found Alric at the town of Tonfeld [roughly translated, this mean walled field in Saxon]. Tonfeld was a heavily fortified town in the south of Dronds Feelds, but inside the walls, it was a bustling hub of activity. Fenrir entered through the main gates, and was met by Alric. "Greetings, wolf! What does a Nocturnian want with an Avalonian? It is not often that we entertain traitors!" Fenrir growled at this. "I am no traitor! I fight for the one true ruler of Nocturnus. Let us speak more of this in private." With that, they moved to a tower top, away from the ears of spies. Fenrir's words spoke to the young warrior, and Alric readily agreed to lend Fenrir soldiers for his cause- providing that Shadowmere would count itself an ally of Dronds Feelds and would continue it's current alliance with the Trifork. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What's going on!?! I can barely follow myself and I know all the secrets Fenrir knows! Keep a look out for the final build to wrap this story up! C+C welcome!
  20. Lord Vladivus

    Receiving a Message.

After reaching Nocturnus, Tauro and Bregir have split up. Whilst Tauro has continued to Shadowmere, Bregir heads towards other members of the Nocturnian Resistance. Tauro has found Shadowmere in a sorry state of affairs. Recent events have taken their toll, and the citadel is no longer quite as whole as it once was. Nevertheless, the Lady Sithanna rules in Vladivus' absence and it is to her that the Trifork's message is delivered. She receives Tauro in her personal chambers, the Minotaur an unusual acquaintance for the vampire Lady. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally got around to replying to Bregir's build! I tried a new technique for myself, offsetting the walls by a half-stud. The colour scheme is largely inspired by one of Jorrith's Shadowmere builds, so credit there! C+C welcome!
  21. It was said when the Algus return creatures of ancient will come along them to destroy everything on its path. The Xocomil is a creature of myth, an enormous sea dragon, that is all ice and bone, the terror of the waves. Fortunately it appears to live just on the most northern waters.
  22. As Algus patrols begin to appear on the borders of northern Avalonia, the effect are far reaching. Snow clouds drifting from the north reach the hot Kaliphlin winds, the result is rain, rain falling in the wither woods turning the landscape from shades of reds and browns to a more lush, green forest. Lord Parimere meets with one of the guard captains, commanding one of the wither wood outposts. Guard Captain: Sir, do you think the Algus in Mitgardia could cause snow to fall in southern Kaliphlin? it would be a disaster! Lord Parimere: If snow began to fall in Kaliphlin... Well as you say, it would be a disaster. The Algus must be stopped! Guard Captain: I await you orders sir. Lord Parimere: Well for a start we can send a detachment of cavalry north to assist Avalonia. It could then be followed by soldiers on foot. See to it Captain. Guard Captain: At once Sir. 2 weeks later... Kaliphlin soldiers are helping keep the argus at bay in Avalonia. It is hoped that the wither wood will dry out soon, we can't have Kaliphlin turning into a second Avalonia can we? Main images. Drat, I accidentally typed affect instead of effect.
  23. Snarling, exhaling putrid hot air, the stone dragon approaches. Its footsteps shake the ground as I cower in fear, unable to move. It reaches me. As the dragon opens its mouth, preparing to attack, a strange thought enters my mind. The dragon, in a way, seems almost familiar, as though it were an old friend. But it does not regard me as a friend; the friend - the dragon - engulfs me with flame. I come back to consciousness in the graveyard, still half-able to feel the heat of the dragon's fire. I've had the same dream, every day, for weeks. For weeks I've been trying to interpret it, to make some sort of sense of it, but all my efforts have been a failure. This time, though, it was more vivid than before. I shake my head; it's useless to dwell on such thoughts. Trying my hardest to forget the dream, I walk solemnly to my parents' graves. A couple of old builds from the summer that I never got around to posting here. Some additional photos of the builds: Thanks for viewing!
  24. Here is the last part of my Frozen Beyond participation : The last outpost : The 2 other parts of the story are : Snow in the Enchanted Forest ?! Mom is really angry ! After a while rebuilding the old border outpost between Falahuas and Circardia, Walaheria and Faladrin reinforced their position just in time to see the Algus last attack begin ! They were just 4 of them but there was an Algus sorcerer with them ! The sorcerer brand his staff and threw ice bolts at the door of the outpost. The door was near to break when Faladrin and Walaheria ordered the couterstrike ! - Come on guys ! Don't let those abominations break the door ! Throw them the flamable oil ! Bring me some fiery arrows ! Noihe and a guardsman put oil on fire and dropped it to the Algus. Walaheria spoke some elvish words and her sword blew a fiery wind upon the Algus ! And they were over... Every Algus in the Enchanted Forest was melted ! Thank you for reading. Some Bonus Pics : The Bad guys : The Great heroes : At last I could finish this contest ! There are so many great entries, I am pretty sure I can not pretend to any prize (especially in the Cat A !) but I wanted to make the full contest ! And yes ! it's done ! And I enjoyed building out of my comfort zone ! (Especially in the Cat B, I had never built a beast before !) Thank you Ecclesiastes to organise this contest and good luck everyone !
  25. The dream was back. A stone dragon, advancing on me, as I stand, unable to run away, cowering in fear. I've seen it so many times that I know it by heart. I'll wake up as soon as it closes in on me. I am about to look away, bored of having the same experience every day for weeks, when I realize that something is different this time. The dragon's eyes are closed. The eyes have always been open before. Bright red eyes, piercing into me, bringing me fear at first before I began to grow used to the dream. Is that why it's different? Do I only keep seeing this because I need to feel fear, because I cannot allow myself to grow comfortable? Is the dream merely a product of my subconscious trying to scare itself, or is it something else? As I try to figure out what the meaning of this new image could be, its eyes open. And that's when I realize why the dragon had felt so familiar before. The eyes belong to someone I know. * * * The misty air cools my skin as I walk briskly over the bridge at Hagron Swamp. The swamp is a place of mystery; I have never been here before, and my parents had never told me about it. Yet, ironically, it is the home of the person who everyone in Morkerna know about: Gremlon. For months, after our adventures in Nocturnus, he has been more reclusive. In the past, he had clung to me constantly, like a shadow, watching my every move like an overprotective parent. Now, this change is almost frightening. For months, I had wondered why he had drawn away from me; now, I believe, I know why. * * * The flimsy porch creaks loudly as I step onto it. Gremlon is not in the treehouse, yet he has claimed that this is where he goes when he is away from me. Lies. It is these lies that have aroused my suspicions of him, these lies that have brought me to loath him. As I begin to curse the lying wizard, I hear footsteps from behind me. It is Gremlon, strolling across the bridge, looking shocked to see me here. He starts to speak, but I cut him off, grabbing him and slamming him against the wall. "What the hell is going on, Gremlon!?" He stares at me, feigning perplexity, so I continue. "Why have you been leaving me? What aren't you telling me!?" He still maintains the same blank stare. Finally, I snap. "My parents weren't killed by supporters of the Desert King, were they? You killed them!" It is the only reasonable conclusion I could reach after seeing his eyes in the nightmare. It must be true, it must be because I need it to be true, because I need to have someone who I can punish for my parents' deaths, and I want to hate Gremlon, and so I tell myself that he is guilty. He must be. "Come on, Elisa, you know I didn't kill them!" And I do know, and what he says is true, but I cannot allow myself to believe him; I must hang onto my illusion of his guilt in order to satisfy myself; I must attack Gremlon, hurt him. Or I can do what is right. Because even as I want to blame Gremlon for my parents' death, I also want him to be innocent, for our old relationship to be restored. I let go of him and walk away, mumbling an apology. Another pair of builds from last summer that I had intended to post here earlier but neglected to. Hagron Swamp (the base of the tree) was a fun experiment in mood and colors. My favorite part might be the lever plants (or perhaps the colors), and overall I think it turned out pretty well for a one-day build. The treehouse was definitely the more difficult of the two, but I'm also really satisfied with this scene. The hardest part was probably the trunk texturing, but I think that it looks a bit better here than in the swamp. Also, I quite like the architecture of the whitewash section on the left, with the arches on the bottom and the angled beams on top. Thanks for viewing!
