  1. If you were to set sail from the southern coast of Kaliphlin and head to the east, like Sirius and his companions did, you would eventually reach the kingdom of Katapuja. The archipelago of Katapuja is part of a much greater ring-shaped collection of island groups, which has a diameter equivalent to the Nocturnian peninsula. The foundation of this ring is a massive, ancient coral reef, tens of miles broad. The reef is the outline of an almost immeasurably deep bowl in the oceanic plane: the Void Sea. Over the course of time, its inscalable depths allowed creatures to reach otherworldly proportions. Sometimes, for reasons yet unknown, giant sea snails attempt to leave the Void Sea by crossing the Ringlands, but few ever succeeded. Most of them end up on the beach, dead rotten. "Wow! This one would make a great new home!" Hi guys! I believe it is still Saturday 3rd of February in the most eastern oceanic parts of the world, so hopefully my entry is still valid! It was a blast, participating in all categories!
  2. The Ruins of Lythell

The day had started off as any other. The water was calm and the sky clear. Once out to their fishing grounds Leif called out to Isdir to drop the anchor and grab the nets. As the day dragged on storm clouds began to brew to the south. Luck, hopefully would be on their side and the storm would head towards the mainland. However only a few hours later, they were battling with the storm. Their small vessel being thrown around like a child's toy. Waves toward and crashed above them as they struggled to stay alive, almost as if they were caught in between a battle of gods. After a long rough night the water finally began to flatten, and they found themselves no longer being able to see the coast. Praying the gods were on their side now, Leif set sail for wherever fate would take him. He had heard the tales of the origins of the Elves. But that was all they had ever been. Tales. However that all changed when a towering arch rose from the horizon, A magnificent structure large enough to fit their boat through. A prancing horse with a rider top the somehow remain atop of the crumbling arch. behind it more structures rose from the seas depths, weathered but years of of harsh winds and high waves but still astounding in size and beauty. He heard Isdir mumble about the lost cities of the Elves, and I did not doubt him. Finally Leif gathered his wits and yelled to Isdir, we will camp on the rooftop over their, and then we shall sail south, just as the Elves claimed to have done. If they had truly found the Elves homeland, then who else knew what lay beyond? (bonus shot) Entry to Category B: A safe Haven. You can probably see I am no writer but I did not want this build to go with out a proper story. I built this back in October, and kept it to see if it would fit into the CCC. It didn't so I have just got round to post it on here now. I have lots of other builds ready to post on the guilds as well so watch out for them. The arch was difficult to make at first, but came together quick enough. the boat was also quite a challenge as it is my first. Hopefully you guys think it came out ok. The base was inspired by Jaapxaap and Legofin and I think it worked well here. Hope you enjoy and C&C needed
  3. The Katapujans Background If you were to set sail from the southern coast of Kaliphlin and head to the east, like Sirius and his companions did, you would eventually reach the kingdom of Katapuja. "Nothing can conquer this sea. One can merely settle at the edge of this whirlpool of teeth, hoping for as much as a tear to roll ashore." - King Tepuku 1. King Tepuku of Katapuja The beloved king of Katapuja, known for his conservative, pacifist attitude, his worrisome expression, but most of all: his patience and wisdom. He used to be a reckless rookie, a brave warrior of the sea, but the waves of time have polished his sharp edges. Nowadays, he is completely devoting himself to guiding his people. 2. Queen Kaja of Katapuja The queen is one of the handful of literate persons in Katapuja. She maintains correspondence with adjacent nations and keeps a log of important historic events. In secret, she likes immersing herself in magic books, although she never actually attempted casting a spell. Maybe that's for the better... 3. Puteha of Katapuja The king and queen's only son. To his fathers joy, Puteha's interests have taken a turn towards percussion and martial arts dancing. Though young, he has already become a nationwide symbol of vitality, celebration and leadership. 4. Royal Soldier Brave, strong and loyal. They are there to protect the islands from intruders and sea monsters, as well as escort anyone entering open water. 5. Shaman Ketatapapu Ketatapapu is Katapuja's medicine man as well as it's spiritual leader. He exercises both occupations with equal enthusiasm, rooting out both individual and societal diseases. 6. Fisherman The most common profession among men. In groups, they drive out small fish from the deeper cracks in the reef and then scoop them up with their nets. 7. Hunter Hunters go after the bigger prey, at the edges of the reef. They are taking more risks, but the reward of their efforts is a much tastier meal. 8. Lady Tanaja In a land that mostly consists of coral, sea shells and sand, mangroves and palm trees, textiles are a valuable good. Tanaja's mastery over cloth, thread and needles has earned her the noble title of "Lady", only adding to here excellent reputation. 9. Scavenger Scavenging is a common practice for woman and children, but it's also a family activity. Who knows what might have washed ashore! 10. Captain Serbrahad Al Ibrazar Serbrahad, or Puke Tahu as they call him here, is perhaps the most remarkable figure of Katapuja. Born in Kaliphlin, brought to Katapuja when he was still a little boy and raised by Shaman Ketatapapu. He is cunning, calculating and stubborn. With his ambitions and rash actions he has often opposed the King up-front. And yet, King Tepuku can't help but feel sympathy for this rebellious anti-hero, so reminiscent of his former self. 11. Lady Akoja It is claimed that every four generations, a woman among men is born. Akoja got her noble title upon joining the Royal Guard, the first woman to do so since the reign of the King's predecessor. She quit the Royal Guard once she met Puke Tahu, and became the first member of his crew. Together they are the very definition of the perfect duo. 12. Lost Ronin Some say a ferocious battle with a sea monster left him blind and mute. What truly matters is that he is indisputably Katapuja's strongest swordsmen. The queen suspects his ultraperception is the result of magic. 13. King Nerezar of Pukata Noja Nerezar is king of the flourishing trade nation Pukata Noja, south of Katapuja. He is an excellent diplomatic, always on friendly terms with his neighbours and the first person to remediate impending conflicts. 14. Northern Cartographer He is in the process of mapping all the Ring Nations for an unknown contractor. He isn't quite there yet... 15. Stenran Feglir Scout of a special operations squadron of the Zotharian miltary, currently accompanying Sirius Centario on his journey, which has carried him to Katapuja. 16. Sirius Centario Eldest son of Onicius Centario, the ruler of Zotharith. His charisma and luck are seemingly boundless, one has to wonder what star he was born under. His mastery of magic is impressive in its own right, but he wants to avoid being chained by responsibility at all costs. 17. Sea Orc Reportedly, there are communities of sea orcs in the deep reef zone, around eighty meters below the surface. Individuals have surfaced occasionally, but they appear to shun away from humans. 18. Abyss Dweller At the bottom of the Void Sea, the abyssal plane, the pressure is so groundbreakingly high that nothing larger than the size of a fist can live there. Unless it's not really alive, of course... Hello guys, here's my second Safe Haven challenge entry! I hope you enjoyed, even if you may not have read all of it. This was a great execise in trying to produce identical shots of different objects, which required a much more organized approach than usual. I'm pleased with how the individual shots turned out. That's it for now! C&C much appreciated!
  4. The City of Bandari An entry into "A Safe Haven", the Fifth Anniversary Challenge, Category A Also Chapter 7 of the Chronicles of Hesperia The druid Henjin Quilones, Galaria the former princess, and Hamisha the returning exile stepped out of the rowboat and began making their way up the dock and onto the shore. They had to duck around several sharks hanging by their tails on the beach, strung up by the fisherman who lived in the house by the dock. Before them spread the City of Bandari, the jewel of Mwamba. Hamisha, who was leading the way, paused to take it all in, tears beginning to form in the corners of her eyes. She recognized so many faces that she had not seen in hundreds of years, not since the council of this city had voted to send her away. They had seen the Bahari, the master fisherman at work hauling in his nets as they tied up at the dock. Ahead of them was Chuma, smithing away at something at his forge. Winda, the elf scout, was standing up on a balcony overlooking the market, but her attention was fixed on something happening around the corner of the massive building on the hill. "That is the dragon hatchery," Hamisha told the others. "The dragons come here and lay their eggs, and then the elves take the best care of them until they hatch. They are very watchful and observant, too. Inside that building are sand pits kept at the precisely correct temperatures to maintain optimal egg health. The gnomes of this city tend to some sort of subterranean network of pipes that bring hot steam under the sand; there is always vapor of some kind coming out of the holes behind the hatchery." "But up on the side of the building," continued Hamisha, "You can see a sight that is quite rare; an adult male dragon meeting his hatchling for the first time! That is Nyeusimoto, and he is the dragon companion of Lord Mkuu, one of the elf princes of the land." "Watch your step in the market here. The sellers can be very pushy; or at least, the humans of three hundred years ago were. I doubt much has changed in the intervening time." "And whatever you do, do not mess with the aelfcats or the dragon knights, or step in the way of a centaur!" "It is good to be home." More pictures: ___________________________________________________________________________________ ....................................................................................................................................................................... C&C welcome! This one was light on story, heavy on build. For those curious about the figures seen throughout the build, my category B CMF series will shed some light on most of them, besides the aelfcats, who are new. This is by far my largest build, being about 100x100 studs, making it four times the size of my previous record, and I have been working on it since July or August. It was hard getting good shots of it, and I really only had one chance at pictures, as it took an hour or more to move it from my LEGO table to my outdoor photo site and re-build the sections, and then moving it back again resulted in stuff breaking. Fitting all that into the kids' nap time is not easy. Ah well. Someday it is my dream to have a designated photography studio in my house, or at least nice gear (besides just a camera), but that will have to wait until I win the lottery. For now it will be good to take this apart and have bricks to build other things finally.
  5. The Nagra Luca An entry into "A Safe Haven", the Fifth Anniversary Challenge, Category C Henjin Quilones, Knight of the Druidi Order of Historica, exile from Hesperia, and his constant companion, Galaria, formerly Princess of Hesperia, now an exile like Henjin, were discussing their journey on the poop deck of the Nagra Luca. The swift ship was making good time as it sailed ever westward, veering only the slightest bit south. It had been some time since they had left the Isle of Tíre, fully stocked with provisions for a journey that could possibly take months. And it had, several months longer than anticipated, in fact; they had been aboard this vessel, now terribly small and cramped, for far too long. The food supply was now rather short, nearly as short as the tempers of the crew as they spent their time walking the same planks and pulling the same ropes each and every day, seeing the same eighteen people day and night. The wolves in the hold below were particularly restless, and one at a time they were brought up to pace on the deck when the weather was fair, just to stretch their legs a bit. Skoll, Henjin's white wolf, had even leaped overboard once and swum with some dolphins for a spell before they could lower the rowboat and fish out the sodden beast from the briny waves. The whole hold had smelled of wet fur for a week afterwards. "We must be getting close, Henjin," said Galaria with a sigh. "We are, I can feel it," replied Henjin. "Sir Kravek's charts were clearly mistaken about some of the nautical distances, as this journey has gone on long enough, but those rocky fingers we passed sticking out of the sea yesterday at noon are supposed to be only a day's sail from shore to this new place. And besides, Hamisha has been saying for a few days that the smell in the air is that of her home, so we must be close." "My lord Henjin, Lady Galaria, the smell is stronger than ever, too!" shouted Hamisha from where she was looking over the maps and charts. "I apologize for interrupting!" "Apology accepted!" Galaria shouted back and shook her head. "She has always been a strange one," she said in a low voice, "not like the rest of my wolfriders. These Mwamban elves must be an odd lot if they are all like her. She is reliable, though." "What are we going to do once we get to Mwamba, though, Galaria? We are a crew of exiles, castaways now from your home, refugees far, far away from my own, with little in the way of a trade or skill to earn our silver and gold. I have some magic, I suppose, and you can hunt, and we are all good with swords, but unless there is some sort of conflict going on that particular skill is not very useful. What are we to do?" "We will figure it out in good time, Henjin," the elf said, resting her head on his shoulder. "We are together, and that is what is important to me. Besides, I was a princess, and I am still an elf, and elves are always welcoming to other elves, with the exception of my father. And we have Hamisha." "Who is now twice exiled, and still will not tell us what she did to be kicked out of Mwamba in the first place, I must point out." "You worry too much, my handsome druid." "Land ho!" came the shout from the lookout up in the rigging. "I see land!" Allicea shouted again. Soon others were climbing the rigging and crowding the gunwales of the fo'c'sle trying to see the shimmering blur on the horizon denoting land. "I see it too!" shouted Celdrian triumphantly. Soon the Nagra Luca was making her way into a harbor, with a large city overlooking the water. Small fishing boats were dotting the waves, and the shouts of people from the shore reached their ears. Henjin, Galaria, and Hamisha were lowered in the rowboat to the water and made their way to one of the docks. Some more pictures: ________________________________________________________________________________ ................................................................................................................................................................ C&C welcome! This was my first attempt as an AFOL at making a ship (besides, of course, the official ship sets that I have acquired over the past few years), and I am rather pleased with the outcome. I went entirely brickbuilt instead of using any of the large hull pieces that I have, since I wanted to try my hand at it and liked the look of it better. The ship is inspired by the lateen-rigged vessels of the past, particularly the caravel of Portugal and the dhow of India/Arabia, as well as a Ninjago ship built by @Garmadon, with some elvish flair of my own.
  6. Exetrius Saga Previous chapters: Episode 18: Setting sail Sirius Centario and his companions had been searching throughout Kaliphlin for artifacts of water magic, which they eventually found in a wizard tomb in the Southern Desertlands. Having attained their goal, they were on their way back to Zotharith. Sirius insisted on travelling eastwards along the coastline , instead going north east, straight across Kaliphlin. The idea was simple: sightseeing, with a chance of boarding a trade vessel headed to Nocturnus. No luck thus far, although Stenran didn't mind. The white beaches, crescent bays and slanting cliffs were plenty interesting to explore on foot. They had stopped for a rest in a quiet bay. Sirius went for a swim, Stenran went ahead to see what was behind the next turn in the shoreline. He turned around the corner, but immediately froze at the sight. Another small bay, with dozens of gigantic turtles on the beach... In addition, there were a total of four vessels in the bay: a big one with two hulls and three similar, smaller ones. Young, muscular men - he could see at least five of them - were on the lookout, not on high alert but with unknown intentions nonetheless. Silently go back and inform the others... And then a recklessly enthousiastic Sirius came racing around the corner, propelling himself with water jets from his hands. Oh boy... In the end it all worked out, somehow, miraculously. Though they couldn't understand balls of what the 'turtle guardians' were saying, it was clear that they believed a benevolent sea god had come to visit them, which resulted in one big feast. There was dance and music, laughter and fire, meat and booze. Next day, Stenran found himself on one of the small rafts, embarking on an unexpected adventure... Helmsman "Eja, erm.. Stenran! Katapuja e." Stenran "Kata..puja.. eh?" Helmsman "Katapuja e!" Stenran "Whatever..." To be continued.... Hello guild mates! I present to you my Cat. C entry to the Safe Haven contest. Hopefully those who do not follow my saga don't mind the text wall intro, it's just convenient for me to combine personal storylines with challenge builds! Anyway, this was a great exercise in building a raft and a water surface, two things I had not attempted before. Thoughts and comments are much welcomed, of course!
  7. The Chronicles of Hesperia Volume 1: The Sky Man Chapter 5: Stopping at Tíre Keep The Previous Chapters: Henjin Quilones stepped out of the elvish rowboat and walked up the dock towards the tower. Though it was only early evening, the flames were already roaring from the beacon post at its top, ready to ward any passing ship away from the dangerous shoals that lined the coast of the island. Tíre Keep, with its lighthouse, was one of the most important strongholds of Avalonia, and one of the farthest, if not the farthest, west, a final stopping point for food and supplies for any Avalonian ship sailing out into the Great Western Ocean. His ship, or rather, Galaria's ship, was moored deeper out to sea, past where the rocks would cause a danger to the fragile wooden planking of a ship's hull. He had been sent ashore to this abode of humans, since he, a human, would not look so out of place as one of the elvish exiles on board the Nagra Luca, or Black Wolf in the common speech of Historica. His brother, Bu'kanjin, or one of their druid warrior companions, could also have been sent, but Henjin had volunteered to come alone to broker a deal for supplies sufficient for an ocean crossing. Of gold they had enough, if pressed, to buy everything they needed and more, but then they would have nothing when they reached the shores of some distant land; Henjin's powers of persuasion had become legendary among his friends, and they all agreed that he would be the best to negotiate a favorable bargain for them. Henjin sighed as he gazed up at the tall tower, its six sides facing every direction. He did not know when they would be back in civilized lands again. Galaria had taken it into her head to travel the world after her father had sentenced her to exile, and she had no desire to stay around the continent of Historica. She had been granted a Historican Title of Nobility for her actions in the war with Raavage, same as Henjin, and would thus find a warm welcome wherever the Ruler of Historica was revered, but she wanted to leave, to see how people lived in other lands. Henjin had agreed to go with her, as he found something about the green-haired elf maiden hopelessly attractive. Bu'kanjin felt similarly towards Yavenna, Galaria's trusted lieutenant among the wolf riders, as well, and had needed little persuasion to join his brother. The wolves. Skoll, the white wolf that was now his, along with Biryuk, who was Bu'kanjin's mount, Laika, who was Galaria's, and the other wolfsteeds of Galaria's band, was in the hold of the Nagra Luca, undoubtedly very unhappy and seasick. Henjin had to get enough meat to feed them, in addition to everything else they needed. The gold in his pouch needed to go a long way. As he walked towards the small door set in the wall, he observed a man fishing from the rocks. "Greetings, sir," he said. "Where might I find the lord of this keep?" The man turned from his fishing with a sigh, saying, "The fish are not biting so far today, I am afraid; I blame the weather. It has been too hot, unseasonably so. We need some rain, that's what we need, rain." "If I could send you rain, sir, I would," said Henjin. "Now, where might I find the lord?" "Right here, my good sir," smiled the man. "I am Sir Kravek, Baron of Tíre Keep, Ruler of the Isle of Tíre, Lord Councillor of Avalonia. How may I be of service to a traveler such as yourself?" "My thanks, Sir Kravek. My name is Sir Henjin Quilones, Knight of Historica. My friends and I need sufficient food and supplies to sail across the Great Western Ocean." "I see. Welcome, Sir Henjin. Well, you have come to the right place. Now, that ship of yours anchored off in my harbor is clearly elvish, or I am an orc, so am I to assume that you stole it, or are your companions elves?" "Yes, Sir Kravek, they are elves, as well as men. And one orc, a refugee that we picked up along the way. Not more than eighteen all told, plus beasts." "Destination? Unknown, I suppose? Well, Sir Henjin, let us step into my office, where we can discuss matters more deeply. I have what you need, including charts and maps, and a suggestion for a destination, a place sure to welcome a motley collection of humans, elves, orcs, and beasts, whose existence has been reported to me by sailors coming through. You, in your turn, will give me assistance (and gold, I am sure). Come, come, this way." ____________________________________________________________ ......................................................................................................................... Thanks for looking, and C&C welcome! This has been posted at long last, my entry to the Summer Joust with @TitusV and @The Maestro. If you look closely at the last picture you might be able to see them there. The hexagonal nature of the tower was a challenge, but it worked out pretty well, I thought. My wife, typically no fan of LEGO, thought that this was my best build, and was genuinely sad when I took it apart. It should be fairly clear where my story is going, what with a 5th Anniversary Challenge deadline just over a month away...
  8. Sorcerer of the Smothering Sands There are stories of dark and ancient powers, lying buried throughout the Desertlands. Those who believe in tales like these are often mocked. Few have the hope and courage to look for these relics, and even fewer have ever caught a glimpse what they really are. Of course, there have been people claiming to have witnessed bizarre events. Events unlike any type of natural disaster or magic known to Kaliphlin. Unbelievable events... Yet, those who seek, may eventually find. And when they do, the heavens tremble and the earth surges! They awaken.. the Smothering Sands... More pics: Hi everyone! Here's a small little freebuild, continuing in the Kali setting. Built for the Summer Joust 2017 contest, 8x8 vig category. I revised the base several times, but I'm satisfied with the result. Anyway, C&C is much appreciated!
  9. Watchtower of Eolas

In times of need, the watchtowers of Eolas are manned to protect and give spirit to the nearby villages. I was having a look down my stream and I realized I had only made one round tower. So feeling that it was compulsory to have a go at another I came up with this. I think the result was much better than I had planned and the landscape was a bit of an experiment but I am really happy with the end look. Flowers and vines make things look pretty Hope you enjoy and C&C needed.
  10. Previously: A: The Bull's Eye B: River encounter C: The Siege of Falconstone Now Davok has finished his whole story, the Mitgardian commanders that gathered in the armory on Glorfindel's command, also joined, together with the Falcon spy that handed Davok to the council. Sir Glorfindel spoke first. "So, this is how the king died, and you are a convict in this. but how is this so important for this moment, for you know as good as we do that we have to muster our forces as soon as we are allowed to." "Its that mage, milord. I didnt know his name at that time, but I DO know the name now. And it matches all together milord, the description, the timing, everything." "Could you please tell me the name, because we are quite in a hurry, im afraid!" "Raavage sir. The mage who killed the king, who hired us. It was lord Raavage." Now, every attendant started to talk at once. "SILENCE!" The voice of sir Glorfindel rose firmly above the others, without any need to shout. "Thank you milady", Glorfindel smiled, as he turned his head to the girl in the falcon tunic. "It seems you have delivered us a spire rebel!" Nemayra, the spy, made a little bow. "Alas I was not in time to get reinforcements, all I could do was warning our city..." "So, what to do with this man? How about we execute him and..." "SIR!", Davok tried to say another thing. "Milord this was not all! I could not prevent the death of the king, but I saw something, and gave my commanders orders to distract the view of the mages. During the aftermath of the battle, someone tried to escape from the city. It was a woman, her clothes told us she was with the king before. Milord, she.., she..." Davok had gotten their full attention now. "she carried a baby. She made it out, we covered her. The baby was carried away." Now Nemayra's eyes lit up. "She made it? But milord, that was the Queen's nurse, with the heir! I know where they were heading for!", and she whispered something to Glorfindel, a bit affraid of the other attendants. Immediatly Sir Glorfindel made up its mind. "Athron! you will lead the army. Layra, you and the Guard will go on a task force to Kaliphlin. We have a chance to unite. To unite all of Historica, once more. "Davok, you will join command of this taskforce to proof yourself. You might have done treacherous things, fact is, you successfully laid siege to one of the Plain's greatest cities. We need every good commander we can get. You can take a select few of your best men as well. Nemayra, you will lead their way." Both women now protested. Layra: "You want me to share command with this suspect of High Treason? Milord!" From the side of Nemayra, there were some words about having an enemy amidst them, as well. But Glorfindel gave one last command. "Mitthral! Send word to the Dragon Masters in Avalonia. The heir has been found!" l to r: Davok (my sigfig), Sir Glorfindel (SoccerKid), Colonel Athron, General Layra, Captain Mitthral, a Mitgardian infantrist in standard outfit, and Falcon-scout Nemayra I got myself some green/yellow minifig arms and oh I love them! :)
  11. The Headsman's Hovel

Even a headsman needs a place to sleep, eat and sharpen his axes. Take my money Brick Link, take it all!! So I finally decided it was time to grab some more greens, including olive, sand and as you can see here dark. The house was challenging to get so small, especially the front, which is split into 3 different parts, non of which are attached to the structure :p I like the tree although I ran out of black robot arms and I think the crows turned out alright. Also I don't know what I was doing with that pumpkin patch, its only there cause I ran out of dk green. So C&C wanted dead or alive and hope you enjoy :D
  12. A statue forgetten

Standing lonely in the sea, a sight forgotten sailors once yearned to see. Seeming destined to be lost forever. Until now... A little teaser for a future build. Not sure when it will be built though, either soon or closer to the end of the year And I will do some more builds leading up to it. The Base style was inspired by the talented Jaaxaap. It was a fun little build to through together and I liked experimenting with the texture. C&C wanted and Hope you enjoy.
  13. In the forest that ringed a Black Spire castle, Lord Maestro's men busied them selves constructing siege weapons. Prepared in modules back in Avalonia, soaring siege towers and devastating were slowly being pieced together (almost like Lego ). Today Lord Maestro surveyed a new contraption. Adapted from an ordinary Ballista , The Maestro's architects swore it was twice as powerful. To show their allegiance was to Avalonia they had fitted it with a Dragon head, the emblem of our their guild. A close up Looking down the barrel of the beast Entry to challenge V Category B, this was an interesting build. I have only done something like this once, and you can probably see the resemblance I hope the Dragon head looks ok to you guys, because im not completely satisfied with it. I think the landscape turned out good though, that red stuff is meant to be moss/grass. Should have Cat D up soon, C&C needed and hope you enjoy
  14. A Morning stroll

An Avalonian ranger strolls through the forest, hunting his elusive prey. Just a small build while I wait for inspiration for category B. It was nice to experiment with some tree styles, which are mainly based of SK's. Also my first build in ages that is 360 view able Hope you enjoy.
  15. Alright here is my entry for category A of Challenge V, enjoy. The message was out... From all corners of Historica, messengers rode, carrying news of the war and the new king. Along the Kaliphlin coastland, time was of the essence, and the fastest route was by sea. Messengers set sail in tiny ships to travel quickly to all ports in Kaliphlin. Here a man dashes from his docked boat bellowing his message to all who will here him. A pic of just the wall. A pic from the side. A pic from the other side. A pic of the merchant selling valuable aromatics and perfumes. Thanks for viewing. C&C appreciated. Good luck to everyone in this three part contest. :)

  17. Prologue This is the tale of the brave Knight Sir Russel, from a young age he always wanted to be a knight! As a young boy he would run round the village in his armour and battle those who dared to opose him. The problem here lied in his background, due to his parents being very wealthy no one would dare to beat Sir Russel in battle, those who did vanished like magic! The thing Sir Russel did not know was that his whole life was leading to this moment. The Story Sir Russel was chosen by the King to be a courier for one of the messages, the major reason for this was due to a large sum donated by his parents. He was prepared a Horse, armour and a travelers bag all given to him by his loving parents, the travlers bag looked just like the message bag. Sir Russel set out in his quest but he only took the tavlers bag what an absolute fool! Meanwhile as Sir Russel was riding his gallant steed back, The trolls had overheard that an item of great value was being transported, so the trolls decided to make a plan! Im only kidding, did you think that the Trolls where smart for a second?! What the Trolls actualy did was a lot more simple, they decided to settle down in a little outpost that they found on one of the major roads. Unfortunatly Sir Russel who did not listen to the advice given to him by the king which was coincidentally "Now Sir Russel when delivering this letter of upmost importance stay away from all the major roads, as you may be met with a grim fate!". As Sir Russel rode back on his horse He noticed a fire coming from a nearby outpost, not being all that aware of the dangers that hang around fires Sir Russel road closer to see if they had any food which was not just Bread! Once at the Outpost he noticed it was inhabited by a lone large Troll (not noticing the other four smaller Trolls hiding), as a young boy he was always told how bad Trolls are so he decided to face off with it. This was a HUGE mistake on his part as the troll was actually a peaceful creature mainly due to its sheer stupidity! Now in a situation Sir Russel even if he defeated the large troll he would still have to kill another 4 smaller ones! *SQUASH* Without Foreground Charecters:
  18. Katira Kabour of Norvica

This is Katira Kabour of Norvica, one of the best knight of Kaliphlin who has won a lot of free fight tournaments.Katira and his squire Demir are traveling to Eastgate for a free fight tournament between the best Knights of Avalonia and Kaliphlin.I think he has a good chance to fight himself in the final round and win the tournament.
  19. [MOC] Swamp Rescue

Hello! Would like to present my second MOC after my dark ages. (Sorry, i build like a 12 year old, twenty years ago.) (You can check out my first MOC here!) I joined Nocturnus a few days ago, so i decided to (try) build something not too big, because i don't have that much bricks, and it is easier to start small i think. So i had a little scene in mind, then it slowly changed and transformed into this final form. I made an order on BL, and built it. Sorry, i do not own a professional camera, so i just used my phone. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Saga of Gutkeled the Tangled I. Swamp Rescue: As dusk settled over the dangerous lands of Nocturnus, Gutkeled the Tangled was gingerly heading East, passing through one of the deadly, and smelly swamps to stay hidden from the happenings of the civil war going on his beloved homeland. He was just getting across a dodgy bridge, when he heard the murky water splashing, and a woman's screech as well! First he thought it is just a crow with its raucous voice complaining about something, somewhere in the dense vegetation... Wasn't good for his ears, i tell you that. Anyway, it was really a woman. Or something like that. His mama Leofflæd taught him well, to be a good and honorable man, and to be helpful, especially to ladies, so he decided to lend a hand to the stranger. Even if she seemed like a vampire, or should i say swampire. - Good evening Ma'am! Don't you worry, i will pull you out in no time! - shouted Gutkeled, whilst he cut down a long, strong vine with his sword from a nearby tree. No answer came, just panic, screams, and the swamp's greenish water stirred up even more. The young wanderer cautiously stepped on the edge of the bridge, and held the vine in front of the woman. - Grab it, and don't let go! - said Gutkeled in haste. He wanted this to be over as quick as possible, because above them on top of the tree, in its crown, two swamp spooks nested. Some people and other life forms called them bog bogeys, and those creatures didn't like anyone near their home! Especially noisy ones. Usually the female laid a crystal thingy on top of a tree, while the male caught and killed some lesser creatures, and took their souls to trap it in the crystal. A few nights later the next generation of swamp spooks were born from it. They were always born during, or after full moon, because the crystal needed to catch the moon's rays to transform the souls into those nasty little spirits. Although they were only preying on smaller beings, they could mess up Gutkeled with an attack, if they wanted to. They literally just fly through someone's body, or head, causing headaches, nausea, dizziness for long hours, or in some cases, days. - Almost have you! - Gutkeled managed to pull the woman closer to the bridge, then lay on his stomach, and reached down with his hand to grab her. Soon both of them were sitting on the bridge. Safe and sound. - Are you all right, Ma'am? - asked the man, looking at the soaked and wet, and needless to say malodorous bloodsucker. - Handsome, ye call me ma'am one more time, an' ah wull have ye for dinner! - voiced the exhausted woman, as she observed her savior. - Be careful, vampy! Your sharp tongue might cut your throat one day... - stood up Gutkeled, and put his left hand on his swords hilt. The woman immediately get on her feet too. - Please, before we get carried away, let me introduce maself! Cailleach Bheur, at yer service! Ye assistance is much appreciated! - the change of her tone was comforting. - You are welcome, Cally! I am Gutkeled. Nice to meet you, i hope! What were you doing out here in the middle of nowhere alone? If you don't mind me asking! - Ah've heard some avalonian adventurers roaming these swamps. They are usually delicious. I almost had them, but lost ma footing on this cursed piece of poor woodwork. Dinna have to tell ye, i am not fond of watter and stuff. - I assure you, i taste nothing like avalonians, that's for sure. But i have some dried meat and even some red wine, if you are still hungry. - lied Gutkeled, as he was half avalonian (- half amazing) after his mother. - No need to worry darlin'! I won't bite, for now. But ah take the meat and wine! Let's find a good place, an' get a fire gaun! Have to dry ma dress! - grinned Cailleach mischievously. - Agreed! - nodded the young man, and shortly they disappeared into the night. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First, some pictures without the characters.: IMG_20161224_120422 by Lazlow Lockhart, on Flickr IMG_20161224_120545 by Lazlow Lockhart, on Flickr With minifigs.: IMG_20161224_134750 by Lazlow Lockhart, on Flickr A slightly different version. : IMG_20161224_135129 by Lazlow Lockhart, on Flickr More pictures in my Flickr album.

  21. Aimsithe the arms master

From city to city the arms master wanders, selling his wares to whoever has the coin. It is well known that the master forges a weapon like no other. Strong and reliant, a sword would last you through an age. So when Aimsithe passes your cottage be sure to purchase at least a knife, for you won't regret it. CCC XIV - Traveling salesman. Ugh I though this would be an original idea but Jaka Kupina bet me to it D: Oh well. Just a simple build that took me way to long but I tried out a new base style which I was pleased with. My next build is almost finished and should be done this week( if im not to lazy that is :P) Hope you enjoy. Some parts of the edit are terrible - sorry :P

  23. Ol' Colby's Cottage

Passed down from father to son, carrot farming ran in Colby's blood. When he was a boy he used to eat them every day. Stewed, boiled and even mashed, it didn't matter how ya cooked em, Colby would eat it. When he had inherited his fathers cottage he had been overjoyed. It sat on the edge of the woods beside a small stream. The perfect environment for growing carrots. The house could do with a bit of a fix up, but as long as there were carrots, Colby was happy. So here it is. I would have posted it earlier but as this is my first time editing, it took me a while to get sorted. A couple tips on how to improve my editing would be welcomed. Over all I think I nailed the build, with the rock work being the only thing that annoys me. I love the leans, the Tudor work and stone work. All were inspired by DC and LD. The weather vane (yes, that's a weather vane ) was a nod to Legonardo's moc "house of chaos" which helped me build this, it's meant to be a chicken but I don't have any chickens so I used a brick built one. The trees were fun to try out but the roof was not as rickety as I would have liked it but eh, its OK. I am also going to be putting my saga to the side and focus on some different builds over the next weeks. C&C needed and hope you enjoy.
  24. Building for the Spire read first: For days now they had been marching through the mountains. Yvern had found a pretty large group of Bulls willing to join them, after talking to Davok. Now the expedition, under formal lead of Thornn and Spyrus, and Davok and Yvern, was crossing the Kyrrath Mountains. Tonight they could rest in the ruins of an ancient abandoned Orc fortress, Khazrat. Yet when they came closer, there was an unusual stench in the air. Spyrus and Davok went on, while the rest halted. When they neared the entrance to the fortress, Spyrus said: "This is Orc-scent. That would be that Resistance regiment. See? He didn't wipe them out, filthy Yudha. "How did you call me?" An unwelcome but familiar face appeared above them, just outside the gate the ruins of Khazrat Spyrus: "Why... what... what are you doing here?" Yudha: "Easy...helping my new friends to prevent some impetuous young men from assisting the spire... They pay me well enough" Davok: "Treacherous scum... Is mony indeed all you are after?" Yet Yudha disappeared through the gate. Davok: "The fortress will be occupied. Yet there is no way back now. The fortress doors have rotten away over time, so our best chances are to rush in..", and he shouted a signal. Immediatly the whole expedition started to run, with their weapons ready, not knowing where the enemy might appear... the ruins of Khazrat the ruins of Khazrat the ruins of Khazrat the ruins of Khazrat So, I have been working on this for a pretty long time: I wanted to hit some birds with one stone: I wanted to make ruins, and to make a round tower. I am pretty happy with the architecture of the (front) wall and the tower, yet they don't really get the attention they deserve in this build, I think. The tower has an half collapsed part, and the wall has some chunk out of it, made with different slope bricks.
  25. I had a stroke of bad luck with my camera: the cable for uploading the pictures has disappeared, and the new one I ordered did not arrive yet, and won't arrive before the deadline of the challenge. Meanwhile the main camera of my phone is also broken, so these pictures are made, yes really, with my front camera :P Ccl_Cl "Gentlemen!", said the Warden of Falconstone. "We are here together because sir uh..i-forgot-his-name has requested our help." Ccl_Op "Spyrus it is. Lord Spyrus!", replied the pale man in black clothes, from the other side of the table. "Never mind. He requests our aid to assist his master claiming his rightful title. Therefore he asks us to send a war party across the Rakath mountains, to meet up with a force of his own men." *the Warden points at the Map" "Here are our forces. There is a compagny of Lord Davok's men, those darned Bulls. And there is a regiment of our guild's main army." One of the Councillors, Sir Thornn responded. "Milord, I do see a resistance flag, don't I?" Sir Yuhda, the man right across the Warden, responded. "No, this force has been taken care of. They had been raiding our lands so we took them out." Spyrus: "Can you prove this? This is new information to my master." Sir Yvern, the Stag, sitting on the other side of Yuhda, sighed. "As far as I know, the Bulls had still sighted some of those orckind beings in our mountains the other day" Yuhda: "Oh, you and that Bull-sympathizing of yours... Since when do we believe the word of Bulls?" The Councillor that did not speak yet, now came to Yuhda's aid. "I would trust the word of Yuhda over that of a Bull, anytime. However, I don't think we should go, we would weaken ourselves too much." The Warden put another flag on the table. "A small warband would be good enough. Not everyone has to go. Yet I want someone I trust to go with them. Yuhda? Yuhda: "No, milord. I have other business to be done... yet how about you ask our doe to bring some of his Bull friends?" "Don't call me like that!", Yvern replied angrily. "Yet I can indeed ask Davok to join us, with a group of his men." "Allright then. Thornn, you will represent the Falconstone Council on this journey. Ccl_FB This build was fun! I haven't really done much interior building before. I am pretty happy with the result: I had other plans for the chairs, but I noticed I didnt have ample parts for it, yet this technique turned out well enough, for me. I'm just not happy about the banner connections to the pole, this is mainly because most of my LEGO is in a large cardboard moving box, so finding those spare parts was a huge pain, and I already had to hurry a bit :( I have been quite ill most of the week, so when I was back on my feet again the deadline came a lot closer. Tomorrow I am leaving to Swiss to perform on stage with my band, so I need to upload it now :P The sequal to this, my challenge build, will be uploaded tonight or tomorrow morning :D
