  1. Having heard the call, the heroes navigate the busy corridors of Ebria Station towards the Northern Docks. There, they congregate in the spacious Hart Logistics hanger. They are overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the space; crewmembers dart back and forth around them as shuttles and freighters come in to land and take-off. Support vehicles whirl in every direction, ferrying supplies across the dock. Giant command towers stand at the walls of the hanger, commanding traffic. Beyond the gate shielding, the heroes can see the wide expanse of space beyond. Lost in all the hustle and bustle of the station, the heroes find themselves gathering together on the hangar floor. 2. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Three years of peace. I, Raxus Waythe, Judge of the Wastelands, had grown relaxed on the food and ale of my newfound position and the incredible peace relatively small acts of brutality had brought me. I admit I was beginning to wonder about starting to wander farther afield if for no other reason than to let my name roll off the tongues of increasing royal speakers. I stood, drinking fine local Varlyrian ale, watching small transactions happen in a sleepy, eastern town. I didnt even recall the name, only that one of my men had invited me thus. The sun was setting, the landscape warm and calm. It was as a poet would tell it, and yet all true. "Judge Waythe" It was a statement, not a question. I turned to see a tall, fair haired man staring at me with sharp eyes boring into my skull. I almost took a step back "Yes?" "its a long way from the Wastelands." "I am a Varlyrian of Noble Stock. I can go where I come and please." "Do not imagine, just because you set some heads on pikes and the governor fears for his own safety, that you are anything other than a wolf, on a leash." It had been dormant so long the wolf reawakening within me took me by surprise. "That may well be, sir, but I would guard your tongue more carefully if you wish to remain you village, let alone your family" For the first time he seemed to back off. "I mean no ill will. I bring a message, from Leifric's Hollow." "Go on" "We should take it inside" We sat at a table, not too far from a roaring fire. I had finished with my ale, and so had the mysterious messenger "You have grown wealthy these last few years, and well. You have had ample time." Once again unease crawled into my mind. "Time for what" The stranger shifted, not with unease I was sure, but something else. Yet I could not figure out what. His eyes twinkled. "You shall see. Arrive in Leifric's Hollow in one fortnight's time." I had little mind to ride so far north, even if it was closer to my outposts than the place I was presently sitting. Leifric's Hollow was practically in the mountains, green though it still was most of the year. Yet I could not help but be intrigued. "And what awaits me at Leifric's Hollow?" "Your fate, of course"
  3. Mystery on the Excelsior - Confirmation and Discussion Welcome aboard the Excelsior, the first commercially owned faster-than-light vessel. Run by Blue Star Cruises, it is a short-haul vessel designed to luxuriously carry a small amount of passengers to and from Alpha Centauri, which is the Earth's first out of solar system colony. --- Players: Crew: Captain Amelia Bennett - Played by Shadows Noah Baker, chef - Played by Kristel Arthur Allan, steward - Played by Waterbrick Down Gabriella Palmer, engineer - Played by Hinckley Passengers: George Dawson, businessman - Played by Lind Whisperer Emily Dawson, lawyer - Played by jimmynick Jack Mallory, author - Played by KotZ Dr. Logan Frost, psychiatrist - Played by Fugazi Charlotte Sawyer, regional politician - Played by Pandora Sophie Young, lecturer - Played by Darkdragon Charlie Seymour, zoologist - Played by Tariq j Oliver Hudson, artist - Played by Trekkie99 NPCs: Jason Falcon, helmsman Pierce Foster, navigator Alfie Peck, passenger Ezra Parry, passenger Rules 1) Every player has received a character with a backstory and information that may be exclusive to them knowing. You can feel free to roleplay the character and flesh them out more. Mystery games are often primarily role-playing games, don’t forget that. There is no such thing as a “fluff post” or anything to the like. Throw out any conceptions you have used in mafia games. Feel free to make the character yours beyond what I've given. 2) There is no voting of players in this game. Providing something extreme, all twelve characters will last until the end of the game, at which time they must attempt to “solve” the mystery. You win if you are able to correctly solve the mystery, or if you get close enough to do so. This will happen in the final chapter of the game. You’ll receive several questions and then you have to answer them and explain. If you get it right, you win. If not, well… 3) A chapter will last as long as necessary for the story with no given or set end time. This is, of course, different to mafia games where days last about 72 hours. Keep in mind that mystery games often run longer than mafia games. If you commit to signing up and playing, make sure you can participate for at least a few months. 4) There is no PMing in the game without my permission. For example, you can say “I wish to speak to this person privately” and I may give you approval to do so. 5) You must search for clues. The room that you enter will be described to you and will also usually have a photo to accompany the description. This means that clues typically won’t be out in the open for you to see. If you want to search a room or area for clues, you cannot type: “I want to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room." Rather, you must specify what you want to do. For example: “I want to open the drawers of the cabinet.” You can only submit one action at a time until I reply to it, but anyone can request a search of something at the same time as you. For example, if you ask for a search of a closet, you must wait until I reply to it to submit another action. However other players can request searches of other parts of the room. 6) Please don’t edit your posts. There’s no real penalty to it, but it might make you look more suspicious and I would appreciate not doing so. If you’re worried about a typo, double check your post. 7) Do not talk about the game outside of the threads! 8) This is still a game of deception. Players have things that they wish to hide. If you have any questions about your character, feel free to ask via PM! 9) Make sure any actions that you take are in italics and on a separate line so I can see them. If I miss it for some reason, just quote it and yell at me in another post. 10) When it’s time to end the chapter, you can decide where you’d like to go next in the form of a vote. Voting will last 24 hours strictly. The location with the most votes will win. You’ll be given a map/layout of the ship as well as some choices that you can explore. You can always return to a previous location if you wish. 11) I know we'll all be good rule-followers, but I'll ask everyone to adhere to these rules. Breaking them too frequently could see you removed from the game. Please make sure you put your avatar and character name somewhere, either your signature or avatar. Also please don't make fun of the Excelsior, I know she's boxy, but she was built interior first for an RP that I'm hosting.

  5. Preface: This game is going to be very, very different to mafia games that you might have played. I’m well aware that the last mystery game on this forum was about ten years ago. Therefore, before you sign up, I’d like you to read the rules carefully and ensure you know the difference between a mystery game and a mafia game. These rules will also serve as guidelines and some will highlight the differences between a mafia game and a mystery game. I have adapted the rules from past mystery games and have changed some. These games typically last longer than mafia games and since nobody gets "voted" out, odds are you'll be around for the entire time. Rules 1) Every player has received a character with a backstory and information that may be exclusive to them knowing. You win if you are able to correctly solve the mystery, or if you get close enough to do so. This will happen in the final chapter of the game. You’ll receive several questions and then you have to answer them and explain. If you get it right, you win. Breaking them too frequently could see you removed from the game. I'm looking for exactly twelve players please, but if more sign up I'll adjust accordingly. I'm leaning towards not using anonymous accounts this game. Like I said, before signing up, make sure that you've read the rules and you can commit. I've been really heartened by the stellar roleplay in the past few mafia games, and I'm hoping it continues in this game, which is primarily focused on role-play and minor deception. 1) Darkdragon 2) Tariq j 3) Trekkie 4) KotZ 5) Waterbrick Down 6) Omrom Hinckley 7) Dannylonglegs 8) Kristel 9) Shadows 10) Lind Whisperer 11) Fugazi 12) Pandora Extras: jimmynick, Lord Duvors, Sir Stig
  6. I have the following minifigure: Obviously, it's Princess Princess Iron Fan. But it's not the same as the one from the two sets in which she is known to be, 80010 Demon Bull King and 80016 Flaming Foundry, where she looks as shown below. Note the different torso prints. Also, and this could just be due to printing tolerances, her dress print is slightly lower in the minifigure above. The mystery minifigure (top) is LEGO, not some bootleg. I got it as a gift from LEGO. How come it has an alternative torso print? Is it from an as-yet unannounced set or with-magazine foil pack?

    The Big Mystery WIP

Tall Black Tower WIP by Jip Kempers, on Flickr So yesterday I started uploading my latest WIP Project to its own Flickr Album I decided to upload every day or two depending how fast it progresses to get some feedback and tips while I build instead of having to alter a thousand things in the end. Which’ll probably still occur lol! I also decided to make a little guessing game of what it will be and to spice it up a bit I upped the ante by asking what the full title of the finalized project will be. (I have it in my head since brick one) Winner will get a nice memento once the project is finished, and the rules are in the descriptions of today’s upload and if you don’t have a Flickr account you can send me a pm here or on the LowLug forum. C&c welcome, wanted, needed!
  8. My family was recently going through the basement and discovered this Lego plastic shopping bag. At first it didn't seem interesting, but we don't live near a lego store (Eastern Canada) and this had been stored away for about 30 years. I can't find anything similar online, but I'd like to know more about it. Has anyone ever seen a shopping bag like this before? My best guess is that it came from France in the mid to late 1980's, I recall Santa bringing a lot of Duplo from France one year. If it helps, this logo is on the bottom of the bag. Thanks!
  9. The Bureau of Unexplained Phenomenon's train does not officially exist and you never saw it. All photograph's taken of this train are mangled by some unknown force while still in the camera, and it never seems to stay still for long enough to get a glimpse at the engine crew. The passenger cars are are only marked with the Bureau's logo on the sides for a clue to their ownership. The 2-6-0+0-6-2 Garratt steam locomotive pulls a four car train, consisting of what seems to be a baggage car, a sleeper, diner, and observation car. All four cars (and the engine) are marked in a dark blue with light gray accents and the Bureau of Unexplained Phenomenon's logo on the sides (not shown). According to the scattered reports of varying age, the train's scientist crew catalogs the odd happenings around the USA since the Bureau's founding by Abraham Lincoln in 1863, such as un-dead uprisings in the 1970's, ex-confederate vampires in 1875, time travelers from the 1980's in the 1880's, attacks by mutant giant ants in the late-1940's, and an entire town being held hostage by a giant blob from outer space in the early 1960's, just to name a few of the more prolific cases that we know of. Other reports suggest the train is not merely cataloging the happenings, but tracking them via a rip in space-time continuum in the Pacific Northwest that is waiting to be opened to it's full inter-dimensional potential. This man on the far left is supposedly one of the senior operatives of the mysterious Bureau, a Mister Graves. Mr. Graves has more recently (as of 1926) been keeping tabs on Lord Sam Sinister (far right) Senor Palomar (second from left) and Alexis Sinister's (second from right) plans for the inter-dimensional portal that is located in the pacific northwest of the USA. Mr. Graves has ingratiated himself into the evil trio's inner circle but is keeping deep cover on his plans for the portal. Rumors suggest the three are looking for the portal to release a being of immense power into our world, a event that Mr. Graves is no doubt trying to secretly prevent at all costs. This steam locomotive was originally designed by Anthony Sava but with fake pistons and with small-size friction bearing wheels. I added working pistons and Big Ben Bricks medium flanged and blind driver wheels as see here at Ben's website. In my model, gear wheels are used as stand in for the custom wheels that are not in LDD. Even with the added pistons, the engine easily can go around corners and switches. The rear of the loco. The baggage car is supposed to contain all kinds of mobile equipment for tracking strange type of hyper-matter and ecto-plasmic energy fields, among other things. (In reality, all these cars are empty) The dining car and sleeper. This is where the on board crew sleeps in one car and eats in the other. This car is called the war room. In reality, it's a remodeled business car, turned into a room full of charts and chairs and devices for listening for Sasquatches and detecting dragon smoke. It also messes with enemy listening devices and destroys track-side cameras of passers-by. Can't be too careful with the future of the world on the line! NOTES: In reality, I just wanted to build a small passenger train out of dark blue pieces to match the engine I posted a couple months ago to Flickr. I thought at first about making it for the president of the railway line, but a fictional secret government agency from the 1920's works just as well. Comments, questions, and complaints are always welcome. This train could possibly be built in 2019, but I'll have to see.

    Orient Express Thriller!

Well, here it is! My first train MOC that I've ever made, the Orient Express! Including a large Pacific class style locomotive similar to the Emerald Night, a tender, and a passenger car, I cobbled this together from several Bricklink orders and the LEGO Constitution Train Chase. ( I was very sad to take it apart, but it was for the greater good!) The passenger coach features opening doors, and I was able to put two lights into the roof, so it can light up at night! Here's the official story on this MOC: -Oh no! There's a Mummy on the Orient Express! Join dashing, adventurous Arthur Rutledge as he travels across Europe with several priceless artifacts to be delivered to the Louvre Museum in Paris. But be careful, his evil nemesis Cad Goldwater is also aboard, and will stop at nothing to acquire the relics. Will Rutledge be successful, or will the Orient Express be stopped by the nefarious plans of Cad? It's up to you! You can also see more photos of this MOC on the Orient Express Thriller page on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/150692089@N03/albums/72157676895085431/with/31865151642/ This project is also on LEGO Ideas to support! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/162979 We would really appreciate the support! Thank you. :) A couple extra pictures!

  18. ~-This Quest is for chosen heroes only. If you are interested in joining Heroica RPG, visit the Heroica Rules and FAQ topic to learn how to do so-~ The heroes make their way to the docks. After looking around, they notice a large ship bearing the Duplovian flag. As they approach, they find the knight that summoned them earlier waiting for them. He gives a friendly wave. Greetings, heroes! Some of you already know me - I'm Aves, knight of Duplovia. It's been some time since you helped sign the peace treaty between Duplovia and Delfrin. Almost a year, isn't it? Since then our two kingdoms have worked together on the Garran Mines, approximately halfway between them. For a long time we were making a good deal of progress, and real unity seemed to be building between us. About a month ago, we lost contact with the mines. We sent a search and rescue team lead by Captain Korr Dovanna, but they have not returned. We are fearing the rest, and so we have come back to you. Hopefully we can solve this mystery with ease! 19. So, here is the beginning for my entry... This is the first model more or less finished, althoug it might not look like it :P I am wanting a more "rough" "industrial" look on this one, with a kick of humour... Anyway, I'm not telling you what it is supposed to be, or what the overall theme is. As it is kinda special looking, I thought it might be fun for you all to guess :) I haven't counted the peices yet, but I am very confident that I am withinthe 500part limit. Peices include: 2 power functions m motors 1 power function lights 1 power functions IR receiver and the red light is from a RCX light sensor via fiberoptics.

A few masked men accompany them in various colored garb, their weapons looking less standardized than the Watches. The party's ears are blasted by the sound of the Town Watch lieutenant bringing his megaphone to his mouth and hollering at them. "Heroica! Over here!" The party makes their way over to the origin of the noise as they finally meet their employer among all the commotion: two official looking men and a dwarf in dark clothing watch the guards scurry to and fro. "Ah, it seems your arrival is well timed, gentleman and lady! I'm Lieutenant Paolo of the Town Watch, at your service. You couldn't have arrived at a better time!" The dwarf tips his hat, giving a small grin. "Falner Drunderm, Coroner, at your service!" The Hinckwell captain stays quiet, and merely folds his arms, staring the party over. Paolo begins to curl his mustache. "I've got my hands full with so much paper work after the Baker's Guild incident that I'm positive the Eubric Forest is no more. Since I want this cleared up as quickly as possible, yet professionally, I called you lot in to help in the investigation. I'm more than certain your curious as to why I called you here, so allow me to fill you in. Earlier today we received word that a group of patrolling guards had found four Hinckwell men dead in the gatehouse leading up to the villa. The men patrolling the grounds smelt a strong burning odor coming from the gatehouse and investigated. The conundrum this mystery falls into is that the door was locked from the inside, and the only way in and out of the gatehouse is through the front door. We're not so much curious as to who the murderer is as to how it happened. If you can solve this conundrum, as promised, I'll bestow upon you two bottles that I'm certain you'll enjoy, one that buffs your experience and another that makes your luck somehow increase. I'm certain you have some questions, so please, ask away. As well, I'm giving the decision as to who wants to be party leader to you, so you will also need to decide that." Paolo crosses his arm and looks the party over, the cool breeze nipping all but the yetis cheeks. Welcome! You have 24 hours to confirm. Feel free to talk to anyone here, and look about the front gates. I'll move you into the gatehouse once you're ready. As a protip, think like detectives. What are key things you need to know in order to fully grasp the situation? Best of luck, and to our newer players, remember to bold your questions and actions. Good luck!
