    (MOC)-Modular Medieval Tower

Hello to everyone. Today I would like to introduce one of the latter MOC I've built. It's an ancient tower, restored and converted into a Museum. It's my first fully original Modular Building and the first to be completely designed with LDD. Each store has its own display of medieval stuff. Each floor has its own structure of wooden beams. I love castles ... But my idea of a giant castle does not agree at all with the available space in my house. I've taken the opportunity to to use some techniques to build the tower. In particular, I've taken care of the shape of the windows, creating the inclination of the walls as in the existing medieval fortresses, and I've tried to create realistic gargoyles. Unlike the original design and the fact that once built, it appeared a bit "stubby", I added a floor with a clock. The white panel is actually a Mobile Phone Antenna... we can usually see these antennas on higher buildings... The top floor has a wooden staircase leading to the terrace on top of the tower from which minifigs can admire the view of their city. www.flickr.com/photos/kevin8/sets/72157631268893806

    Coastguard HQ Modular Building

My last update for my City layout project was way back in July, however this is not due to me doing nothing but the exact opposite. I have spent the past few months building the Coastguard HQ building, I have not shown any progress as wanted to wait till it was complete until I revealed it. The building is based on the Fire Station Modular Building. To start with the building has the same colour scheme from the 2008 Coastguard City sub theme, this made the building very interesting when building it as not everything comes in orange. Also the building is built across two baseplates a blue 32×32 one and a road one that is used in most large City buildings like the recent police station. This meant a building challenge in getting the look right and also fitting it on to the base plates. I built the building first on LDD and I rebuilt it a few times until I was happy with it, the original plan was to have to buildings back to back and connect but I decided to build one large building. The building is double the depth of normal modulars but they will still sit next to the building at the road side leaving a 32×16 gap at the back. So if I extend outwards I can add more dockside behind the other buildings. For more details see here: http://brickfanatics...-coastguard-hq/

    MOC - Music Shop Modular

Hello, At the moment the two most important things in my life are LEGO and music, so it makes sense to combine the two! This is a 3 storey modular building with around 3200 bricks, I'll let the picture do the rest of the talking, there are many more picture on my flickr photostream. I wanted to do two things with the exterior; one was the use of plates and second was windows all the way up the building, I'm quite happy with the result. The bottom floor is record store with a counter, many CDs for sale and even a vinyl box for the record lovers. There is also a storage room under the stairs to recording studio and stairs to the second floor where there are musical instruments for sale. The white tiles on the wall were meant to have stickers on them of 'posters' of music bands etc but my printer isn't talking to my computer atm.... Here is the second floor; this is the floor for all your musical instrument needs with guitars, a trumpet, a flute, a drum kit and even a grand piano!! You can also see the gold records on the wall leading up to the record studio. The third floor is the recording studio, as you can see there are two singers in the studio at the moment (although their microphones have fallen over ) but there is also a drum kit, an upright piano and a couple of guitars. The recording equipment is on show too, and more gold records on the wall, it's important to show your work off! And finally the roof top, there's no party like the after party!! And this is where it's at, all the stars can relax in the jacuzzi or enjoy a champagne or two with their BBQ. The store and studio is run by twin DJs, one you can see manning the BBQ, the other is chatting with the talent. Anyway, I hope you like it, as mentioned before there are heaps more shots, particularly of the interior and instruments on my photostream. Comments are welcome and appreciated
  4. I recently built this MOC of Winterfell courtyard from the Game of Thrones TV series. It's part of a CUUSOO idea for Modular Castle sets, which features well known castles, both fictional and non-fictional. This is the first proper moc I've built. The model comes in easy-to-assemble sections, which can also be moved around. The first section I built was the ravenry. The walls are removable, and the plan is to fit hinges on to the roof later on for full accessability. The ravnery also has cages to store the messenger birds. Please support on cuusoo here: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/36041 :classic: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ned Stark entering the castle: The castle entrance: Full view: Here are some images of the actual thing: Thanks for looking! (MOC)-Villa Battisti

Hi, to everyone! This is the second time I show you one of my MOC. Actually the Tie Fighters where not totally mine as explained in this post http://www.eurobrick...entry1687262... By the way, what I'm showing today is my first attempt to make a MOC after the dark age... It represents a northern-style house that were built in the 10th of the XX century in my town. As you will see it is a very strange building while put in an environment like ours in Italy. I built it during many years (2006-2009), brick by brick, attempting to catch the essential of the real one. It has been very difficult, in fact I built and destroyed it 3 times before getting a satisfactory one... In some details, like the wooden frame of the roof, I'm still far away... :/ I hope Lego will produce more bar-like parts in black... It has been completed with a garden and a front sidewalk during 2010, while I put some minor inner detail later. It can be fitted along with standard modular houses. As you can see from my gallery it can be opened and is fully furnished. Meanwhile here is it.

    MOC Townvilla

hi this is my first Lego Modular building, here more pics and the lxf in my brickshelf folder http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=533124 hope u enjoy and say me waht i can make better sorry for my bad english
  7. Everything except for the houses and vehicles are rather simple, yet effective from my point of view, wish I hope you share with me, over and out.
  8. The Soup Kitchen/Flop house I posted yesterday had a terrible incident in the early hours of the morning. Reports are still coming in, but at daybreak the locals were shocked to see their home destroyed. Police are investigating and foul play is not being ruled out. The fire appears to have started in the entrance lobby and the damage on the ground floor appears extensive. But it's good to see those ceiling joists - although burnt - are still supporting the upper floor. And the roof had minor damage It has been noted by several locals that the recent discussions with Phantom Brick Projects Ltd. over redevelopment plans for the area had stalled and this has police interested. I sense a rebuilding in the near future!

  10. Hello LEGO community. I am an avid LEGO collector as I'm sure all of you are. I wanted to ask opinions on my latest project that I have listed on Cuusoo. Has anyone got any tips in how to get my idea seen and whether or not you like the set? Please head over to the Cuusoo website and search for natural history museum. I look forward to all your feedback
  11. Here are some pics of the new Town Square pizza and bike shop after being converted to a modular building. Still have a few more things to add to the interior, but it's nearly done.
  12. I really like the CMF and honestly find them much better than the usual "City" minifigures these days. (It's just my opinion and I bet there are others but that's not the point here) I tried to find something like this in the past years already, but didn't really come across it, so the question is = Are there any Town layouts that are primarily populated by the CMF instead of the normal "City" figures? I know that some MOC'ers use fleshy and customized figures, but I would love to see any layout or bigger scene with the CMF (customized or original doesn't matter), as the detail on the figures is just a little better (no judgement here) than the average City figure, and I would love to see them in action! Any pics or links welcome and if a topic like this exists already, please excuse!

    MOC: Mini Modular Apartment II

Hey there, I've had this mini modular built in LDD for a while now but wasn't sure if I wanted to build it with bricks. I finally caved and bought the bricks needed for it. It's my second apartment building and my fifth overall mini modular. ^ The idea for the building stems from the blue columns. They ended up making the building fairly weak, structurally speaking; I had to make a few modifications (one of which was adding an extra level of plates at the top of the building). ^ For some reason I like putting dumpsters behind most of my builds. ^ Here are all five of my minis to date. Somehow the two apartment buildings ended up being the same exact height. You can see some more shots of the minis on my flickr. Any comments or critiques are always appreciated! Thanks

    MOC Victorian house

Having built several custom sized modulars for my dioramas, I rebuilt this Victorian style building into a full size modular. I decided to take advantage of Town Hall's large quantity of bricks in dark orange which is a perfect colour to re-create a brick wall building. As virtually all my houses were empty inside from the top to the basement, this is also my first try at making a detailed interior. Street view, with typical bay windows extending all the way to the roof. Some details of the facade. A small garden in the backside with flower bed and ornamental shrubs. The house is built of three modules: ground floor, first floor and attic. Ground floor: hallway, kitchen and living room. Kitchen with all the essential elements such as oven, stove, sink, refrigerator and dining table. Living room with sofa, fireplace, grandfather clock and TV set. Hallway with spiral staircase. First floor: two bedrooms and bathroom. Large bedroom with double bed, wardrobe and a small workplace with desk and bookshelf. The smaller bedroom is a child/teenager room. Bathroom with toilet, washbasin, shower and towel rack. The roof is not detachable and consequently the attic has no details inside. More pictures with details here.

    MOC: Sand Blue Townhouse

Hi everyone! I'd like to present my latest modular building, the Sand Blue Townhouse. This colour combination reminds me of a seaside village (none in particular, just a general feel), and I've tried to capture this in the interior. If it looks familiar, it is because it is. This townhouse was originally started at the same time as the Tan Townhouse last year, when the Modular Madness competition was announced. I was trying out different colour combinations and facade variations for the same building. It's only taken me a year to finally finish this one! I included a fridge in the kitchen. This is one detail that I consistently forget about! The blue and yellow "artwork" hanging on the wall is my attempt at capturing the sun over the ocean. The seaside theme continues in the bedroom ... And in the bathroom ... More images on flickr. Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions welcome.

    Dark red brick town house

As an addition to my Lego street I recently built a small modular town house, with many dark red 1x2 plates in the facade. This is how it turned out: There is no interior (yet). The colour olive green isn't very realistiv for a roof, but I liked the combination of colours. More on my flickr-page.
  17. Hey there! I just finished my latest mini modular builds. These two are the third and fourth builds I've done. A picture below shows all four that I've done. Here they are: "Ollivander's" "Pumpkin Factory" (inspired by flickr user 'RedCoKid's' minifig scale Pumpkin Factory) Here is the lot of four I've done so far: More photos can be seen on my flickr. Let me know what you think! Thank you for looking. P.S. One day I'll get a camera to photograph these things properly. One day...
  18. A first modular. In fact it’s meant as one of the famous Painted Ladies in San Francisco, the idea being borrowed from Henrik Hoexbroe who has built a whole row of them. In a larger scale you can find them in Legoland California, too. Obviously the future town will have some Frisco stuff in it, at least there’s already a very fine Cable Car built by Altezza. There is no interior, but, since cars are still important, a working garage door. The garage even fits the full-size cars. Due to the SNOT road and pavement system there is no usual baseplate, so a width of 21 studs is no problem. Building in an odd width widens the range of possibilities, e.g. you can have cheese on both edges as you can see in the frieze at the gable. Some details: The pillars at the bottom of the staircase are shortened versions of the ones used at the Gas Station. The curtains at the windows of the second floor are made out of bridal veils. The garage door (probably) has a new mechanism which allows any width. Later I’ll show how it works if you are interested. The chimney is completely wrong, will be changed. The roadster is new, too. Its platform is based on the full-size cars, but smaller (6w). It’s built by combining bracket-and-tile and brick techniques and fits two whole minifigs. It doesn’t have a spectacular design, but seems like a step in the right direction on the way to build some smaller cars that go well with the CC style. Hopefully the platform can be developed further. Thanks to Na Dine for providing the old windows. Thanks to all for looking! Some more pics:

    Classic castle

I recently bought a bin of LEGO and in it was the complete kings castle set from 1984. The armor shop was also in there as well, and so it made me think, since the kings castle can be added to using all the smaller sets, such as the armor shop and blacksmith shop, why did they use thick base plates on the additions and thin base plates on the castle. Were they meant to be used on the knights castle instead? Just a curios thought. Figured I would throw this out there seeing the classic castle addition by Brickscape, which is very fitting i might add. Any body have any ideas as to why this is?

    MOC: Coffee Shop Skunk

I want to present my latest modular building: "Coffee Shop Skunk". It is based on a real building. And before you ask, No, I don't smoke... The walls on side can be opened so you can see the interior. The shop has quite a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. People are having a good time. The apartment on the second floor is used by the staff of the shop. What is happening at the second floor? I expect a huge electricity bill. 21. one of two other WIPs is this station of FDNY (New York Fire Dept) E277 & L112. (real photo) This is still under development and my budget is a bit tight for the time being and hope to finish before to long. I need to get some slope and inverse slope as well as finishing off the internals. I'm pretty happy with the construction and how it looks so far. All the levels will be accessible and fitted out by constructions end. [LDD MOC] Hotel

This one is a bit different than my usual vehicular MOCs, it's actually a building. I designed it a while ago and have made minor changes a few times since then. It's a modular hotel, but it's not only modular because it could potentially connect to official modular buildings, but also because you could add a few floors if you felt like it. Here's the smallest configuration you could get: You get a lobby in the ground floor, two rooms with balconies on the first floor, and a two-level suite at the top. But there's also this floor: It makes this hotel a modular modular building as you can add as many of these as you wish. It can be one: Or maybe two: You get the idea) So that's it. So far it's the only building I've managed to design and not be disappointed with how it looked when it was finished) I have to admit, though, there isn't much of an interior at the moment, and the sidewalk turned out really narrow. Anyway, hope you like it, would be happy to hear any suggestions. And if you like it enough and have plenty of spare pieces, here's a link to the .lxf

    MOC: Mini Modular Apartments

I've designed a few mini modulars in LDD and decided to get the pieces for this one because it was my favorite so far. I like how it turned out. Seaside Town

Hi all, Here is a layout I did recently. The front section was custom built for this event. It was inspired and supposed to loosely resemble Neuhoff in Denmark. I used over 40 different colors and fun trying to make as many different styles. It was a great exercise in using many of my random windows, doors, and roof slopes, and rare colors that I have acquired over the years but didn't have enough to do anything large scale with. Most of the boats were also recently made and came out well for what I was aiming for. The back section has some of my larger town buildings some of which are somewhat new. Total layout is about 8x8 feet. Enjoy! More pics on my Flickr stream
