    Modular Office Building WIP

This is a custom office building I built last month. Its not quite finished but its getting close. Will post pics and a finishing video once it is complete inside and out.
  2. There is already a beautiful saddletrac MOC which was built by @efferman but I wanted to build a saddletrac using only pieces from the 42054 set. Here are the function: -3 steering modes -2 PTOs (1 top, 1 back & front) -attachments, currently undecided Here's what I've got so far: I did the front first specifically so I could ration DBG pieces. If you have any attachment ideas or constructive criticism, please leave a comment. Thanks! BrickbyBrickTechnic
  3. Yes, I am late. But all the ideas for this project are made, I just have to combine them. I'm gonna leave you with a list of functions excluding the wacky one. I'll leave you guys to guess it, it's really obvious. -HoG Steering -Adjustable ground clearance (offroad/street mode) -v8 engine -wacky function Here are the pictures: Leave a comment! PS This isn't done yet.
  4. So I thought I might try something a bit different - rather than posting a finished MOC and receiving comments on the finished product, I thought I might try a WIP/build log and hopefully get some advice from you guys along the way. Also I thought some people may find a build log interesting? Anyway, I was supposed to whip up a quick build of my sig-fig, Colonel Dirk Allcock leaving Myzectlan. It was supposed to be a quick build for story advancement purposes. I had the idea of him speaking to the leader of the Myzec, High Priestess Zia in a sort of throne room. While looking for some inspiration on the internet, I found this image which almost perfectly depicts what I'd like to build: Problem is I'm not sure I can do it justice and need some help! And here is my starting point: The area is a 20x40 base. The green section at the end will have some background vegetation and I plan on taking the shot front on, no angle. And some progress: On reflection I am not sure about the dark tan additions to the flooring, I am however very happy with the SNOT splinter pattern. I am thinking that I will probably replace the dark tan with a mixture of dark green and olive green to match the columns. Thoughts? Circles are hard! Also the throne - I've experimented with various ways of trying to portray the circle part without any satisfying results, does anyone have any suggestions? The columns will likely extend the same height as the are now up with a flat roof on top in light bley with dark/olive green highlights and maybe some vegetation. The idea is the Myzec like their buildings to 'become one' with the life giving jungle. Any advice/comments/criticism most welcome! EDIT: LINKS TO UPDATES Update One
  5. @Jim's stellar review of the 42056 gave me this idea. The chassis itself is mostly done, but I wanted to create this topic to get some tips because I am no supercar expert. Here is the chassis: It has independent suspension, RWD, 4speed gearbox, and 3 steering modes: front, 4 wheels, crab steering. Shifting is the interesting part: -if gear 1 or 2 is selected, 4 wheels steering is selected. -if gear 3 or 4 is selected, crab steering is selected. -if no gear is selected, front wheel steering is selected. This is (at least somewhat) realistic because: (From Jim's review) The gearbox: So that's what it is. I will post 1 more update before putting this to rest while I wait for parts to arrive. So leave a comment! BrickbyBrickTechnic
  6. Hello, me and Legomonorailfan are writing a story for classic space! It is still in the making. C&C is always welcome!welcome! more updates to come!

    [MOC] [WIP] Large scale C-3PO

In 2012 LEGO released 10225, the UCS R2-D2. It remains one of my favorite sets of all time, but I've always felt like something was missing... and now with a new BB-8 model coming (that appears to be in the same scale as R2-D2), it's obvious that C-3PO needs to be done next. So I set out to build one myself... and so far I've succeeded... kind of. Legs by Brikkyy13 ., on Flickr back by Brikkyy13 ., on Flickr Sections by Brikkyy13 ., on Flickr With R2-D2 by Brikkyy13 ., on Flickr Currently we're looking at 1295 pieces, and it can only get bigger. The original plan was to have it in scale with the R2-D2 set, but since I'm a bit lazy instead of doing measurements I just eyeballed it, using the size of his feet to judge how big everything should be. So the feet ended up being in scale with R2, and everything else accidentally turned out bigger. I didn't actually realize this until I took the screenshots, and I was too proud of my work to go back and change it. The next step is to make C-3PO's feet bigger to be in scale with the rest of his legs, and to continue working upwards from there. I intend on bricklinking all the parts and building this bad boy for my collection once it's finished. I will eventually post the lxf and/or instructions too. I'll update this post as I update the model. Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks for checking it out!
  8. The telehandler, what a funny machine. They are commonly used to lift containers, dirt, hay, and other things a excavator cannot reach. This is the kind of telehandler I was trying to make, a cat tl642c. I did not own more than 7 yellow parts, so that goes out the window. I kind of used it for inspiration, and made a few changes. Overview : The telehandler steering uses 2 gear racks, and a set a gears to reach the cabin, they must be aligned, like 42009, but they have only minor backlash. The outriggers lock in place using friction pins*, and stay locked, holding the vehicle in the air. The boom uses a linear actuator to lift, and a worm gear to tilt. The extention is 18 studs thanks to a special system, it uses a (+00) with a 3l axle through it, so only extending, there is no need to lift the piece. If I can find all my head racks, it will change to a gear rack setup. The model: the bevel steers, and the spur gear raises boom. Outriggers: front and rear: front outriggers fit outside boom. Boom: lift, extend. LA lift (1.667:1) 12 stud extension. the white piece allows it to stay extended. goes into middle hole. Fork: tilt. some pics would not post, coming soon. can i please get some comments, my last few mocs have gotten about 3 replies, so c&c please.
  9. Hello everyone, I'm presenting you the startout of my latest MOC: the Peterbilt 579. Here are the functions it will have: -Drive(2 L motors) -Steering(with servo) -Working steering wheel(servo) -Gearbox shifting(M motor) -suspension(Independent on front, springless dual axle on rear) -suspended cab -opening doors and hood(discreet mechanism) Here's what I have: You can see the drivetrain is basically complete, and the springless dual axle (don't worry, it's not the 42070 setup ;)) There will be double wheels on the rear. Diagram of the suspension. And that's all I have for now. I have also started think about the grille and bodywork. Bodywork wizards, please leave a suggestion as to how I can make those because I'm drawing blanks Thanks for reading, updates soon! BrickbyBrickTechnnic

    (MOC) Constitution Bar WIP

Here's a modular that is currently a work in progress. Still a lot of work to do on floor 2 and 3 but just looking for any finishing touches people could recommend for the bar portion. I do plan on swapping out my breakaway wall to be dark tan so it won't feel so industrial. Thanks in advance! 20170727_003951 by David Kerkes, on Flickr 20170801_004905 by David Kerkes, on Flickr 20170730_001243 by David Kerkes, on Flickr 20170801_004022 by David Kerkes, on Flickr 20170801_004944 by David Kerkes, on Flickr
  11. So drones are something new to the technic MOC line (I guess). This drone, the DJI Mavic pro, is the third drone I'm building. The other two are a generic drone and the GoPro Karma. Here's a picture of the Mavic. I'm doing it in white as oppose to DBG due to the general lack of panels in DBG. It will have 2 functions: -Rotating propellers -Control over the camera Here are my progress pictures. C&C is wanted as I'm not sure if I've gotten the lines right. The gray thing are too big. I'll fix that. So That'sit. Any help you can give on capturing the lines of this beautiful drone will be more than helpful. Thanks! BrickbyBrickTechnic
  12. The rules I am outlining for myself for this different no electric motors, no batteries, 100% Lego, and No Pneumatics. I am doing this because of the cheap price of Pull-Back Motors on BL, so I thought It would be worth a try! My first idea was basically to use a singe pull back and go motor and the large motorcycle wheels. It would look something like this: But It was not fast enough ( : So I have the Idea to actually add more Pull-Back motors. Using 4 of the newest ones I am hoping to get an increased speed using this method I have 3 more of these motors on order and am eagerly awaiting their arrival. I want to see if anyone else on this forum might have another idea I am willing to hear their ideas.
  13. Hi fellow Eurobrickers, when we wait for 42069, 42068 and 42053 sets review, I use opportunity to present one of my WIP projects that I'm currently working on for about half a year. It is a 1:17.5 model of John Deere R 4038 Self propelled sprayer, but equipped with flotation tires, so I can enjoy mocing with Xerion tires. At the moment I'm not sure if there will be fake sprayer or spreader, will see what future brings. Major difference from original is the drive which I can make only full mechanical. You all know that hydrostatic drive can not be made with LEGO parts. This is the first MOC where I do not have to worry that it will be to wide, since real ones are up to 4,4 meters wide which is 31 stud... This MOC will feature - fake 6 cylinder engine - all wheel drive - all wheel steering - all wheel independent suspension - front and rear pto (since I can not simulate hydraulic valves) - bonnet opening... will see what is possible. So far I've managed to make right and left wheel hubs, which you can see in following images. (sorry for bad image quality, I'll make better images when front axle will be finished, which I plan this week). On the right side of every image you can see something like building steps (not real instructions, but kind of help if someone wants to build it). Any kind of comment, critics is wellcome. Thank you
  14. So you're probably wondering what an Amazone Pantera 4502-H is. It's farm equipment, the 4502-H is a crop sprayer. I get that @eric trax is the farming equipment guy around here, but I couldn't not build this. Here's what the real life vehicle looks like: The wheels aren't a perfect match, but if I build this right and get good suggestions from you guys amybe that will be the only inaccuracy :) Here's what I got so far: It's just the base for the 3 steering modes, which this thing has. In the end, it will have some more manual functions and 2 power functions. Thanks for reading! Suggestion are wanted to make this MOC the best it can be. BrickbyBrickTechnic
  15. Here's a vehicle that I believe has never been done in Technic before: An airport catering truck. This MOC intends to combine pneumatic and power functions. Here are the functions I have planned: -4 outriggers (PF) -Drive (PF) -Lifting the container (Pneumatic) -Opening front door (Pneumatic) -Opening rear door (Pneumatic) -Suspension, steering, fake engine Here's what I have so far: BTW, it is (loosely) based on this real truck: Leave some comments please! I need suggestions for battery box placement and gearbox reinforcement. Thanks! BrickbyBrickTechnic
  16. My next 42043 C Model! This is gonna be a big one! I will have 3 power functions and 4 pneumatic functions. Power functions will be for the truck, pneumatics for the trailer. Here's what I have so far: In case you're wondering, that's the immediate front of the truck. It is built for the 42043 cab, which I will be using. Seen above is the frontmost car lift. Here's the master gearbox. Some mechanics for the frontmost lift. That's a video of the mechanism for the front lift. Like the other lifts will, this uses variable axes to control the movements. (NOTE: CLICK ON THE VIDEO TO PLAY IT) P.S: This is based on the Eddie Stobart (video of it below): More pictures should be coming soon. Hope you enjoyed, and leave some comments so I can implement them in this MOC. Thanks for your time! BrickbyBrickTechnic
  17. Here's my latest WIP, the Ram 1500. This is mostly based on my desire to do a vehicle with 8 speeds. Ram 1500 has an 8-speed transmission in reality. The model has several functions in place already: -Steering -Drive (4x4) -Suspension (Front has positive caster angle, rear live axle) -8 speed transmission with 90-degree shift (Not done yet) Here's a picture: Drive is with 1 xl motor right now, but it will be changed to 2 as 1 does not have enough torque for gears 6, 7, and 8. Steering is with 1 m motor. The front suspension has a positive Caster angle. It was built by angling the suspension beams and securing them to the chassis. The rear axle is incredibly weak right now. PLEASE LEAVE A SUGGESTION FOR OW I CAN IMPROVE IT. Here's the gearbox up close. The entire section of the chassis is extremely dense, but the is no gear slipping when driving. Please leave a suggestion, and I will update the thread soon! Thanks for your attention. BrickbyBrickTechnic
  18. current: the bodywork was the downfall of this car, i do better with gaps and holes. the chassis is my strong point, bodywork is not my strong point with legos. dont expect an update for a few days. this car will not have instructions. sorry i disappoint this time, this next car i have good experience with the bodywork for. a insight: this is not my only project...... le mans... prototype...... power functions..... concept: Air Pocket this is my project i have been working on the last 2 days, project Air Pocket. the aim of my current project is to make the most light, easy to make, simple, and durable car i can. the current car has a simple Rwd, hog, setup. those work fine, but not enough. the plan is to finish before the 24h le mans race, or on that day (17–18 June 2017) as a car to celebrate. some photos.. suicide doors.. for now.. underbody. it is not final of course, just a test chassis. color vomit is there on inside as much as possible.
  19. We had been posting updates to our Inferno HQ separately and it was suggested that they might be easier to follow in a single thread. We agreed, so we're making this new post to consolidate everything into a single location. Each post/update will be started with its own heading showing the date. We've just cut and pasted the existing posts into this thread and eliminated the repetitive links to our pages on Flickr & MOC-Pages. Please click away if you'd like to see more of any particular update but as this continues to grow we'll leave those out as they're right here at the top if you need them. As always, we certainly appreciate you checking in on our progress and invite any comments and thoughts you may have. Enjoy! FIRST POST - 7 APR 2016 Godwins Hollow (our LEGO City) was originally started strictly as background for the ongoing struggle between the Agents and Inferno's henchmen. Over the many years that we've been working on our city we always pushed the actual Agent's HQ and Inferno HQ aside in favor of further fleshing out the city itself. However, after years of fiddling with it in LDD and a handful of proofs of concepts we have finally started building the Inferno HQ. We've started with the lowest level and hope to eventually have fully developed floors underneath the mountain and a partially transformable castle/attack post on top of the mountain. This is still in the VERY early stages but there are places to park the mechs and the hover jeeps. The interior of this hangar bay will be a mix of interior rock facing and more standard 'hangar bay' walls. Anyways, just wanted to throw this out here. UPDATE 1 - 25 APR 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 2 - 3 SEP 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 3 - 19 SEP 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 4 - 22 OCT 2016 These images never made it into a post but adding in these updates show a bit more complete picture of the project's progress. 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ161024 - WIP - Inferno HQ by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr UPDATE 5 - 15 MAY 2017 So this has been a REALLY long-term project of ours but we're finally making some progress. Godwins Hollow was originally conceived as the place that the LEGO Agents would defend from the menacing henchmen of INFERNO! All respectable evil-doers need a secret lair and this is the start of theirs! Once it's completed we're hoping to have two full levels underneath the mountain, trap doors revealing weapon systems, launch bays, and all of the other despicable stuff an Inferno HQ should have. Once you scroll thru the pics below you'll be able to see we've made some significant progress on the base level both inside and out. The main hover jeep garage, mountain exit, and repair bay are all in place. There is a personnel elevator to take you to the command center and eventually on to the next underground level, and two mech bays for the Inferno mechs. So please take a look at what we've done so far and feel free to leave any feedback you'd like. Enjoy! UPDATE 6 - 21 MAY 2017 Our Inferno HQ is still moving along. The ground level to the mountain base is almost finished and we've moved on to one of the key areas of the second level - the hoverjet launch pad. The face of the mountain will open up to allow the launch pad to extend outside of the main bay area so the hoverjets can launch and be retrieved. There is a small control deck immediately adjacent to the launch pad and the hover jets themselves are stored vertically on automated transport drones. UPDATE 7 - 26 MAY 2017 Today's update is a little proof of concept for the transforming towers that will make up the castle ruin on top of Inferno HQ's mountain. This is our first castle build of any kind and while we are pleased with the result it may be fiddled with before the castle is finalized. As you can see the tower conceals the Inferno cannon which could easily hold Godwins Hollow ransom if the Agents don't keep things in check. Again, thanks for taking a look and your thoughts and comments are welcome. 170526 - WIP - Inferno HQ, Castle Tower by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 170526 - WIP - Inferno HQ, Castle Tower by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr 170526 - WIP - Inferno HQ, Castle Tower by Stewart & Sydney, on Flickr
  20. I'm building a tow truck, and I'm running into a problem with the design of the functions. First, let's do an image of what we're talking about. As you see, it's a smaller-scale version of a tow truck similar to 8285, but with an extra axle. The wheels will be those from 42024 and other sets. Because of the scale, there is probably not enough room to add PF. So right now I'm aiming to have it manual. As far as I can see now, there will be the following functions: steering main boom raising/lowering main boom extension main boom winch car lifter raising/lowering car lifter fold out/in outriggers The steering is done and controlled by the gear on the roof. The car lifter fold in/out will be manual with a knob at the back. Remaining are 5 functions. The question I'm having now is, how to drive those. Of course, with the model being manual, I could just add a knob for every function. But this doesn't sound like the most technically challenging option, so I am thinking of adding some kind of switchbox. But, 5 functions is kind of an unwieldy number, ecause it requires 3 switches with 1 being half-used. Currently, the outriggers are driven by knobs on the side, and I could leave it that way and have 4 functions running from the switchbox, but this feels kind of incomplete as well. So I'm unsure about where to go from here. So I'm looking for some advice. What do you think? Are there other options? What would you do?
  21. Current. Plasma GT3 Racer, in the velocity racing garage work is being done on the Plasma GT3 car. they have after many tests and months the chassis is finished. the suspension tuning is good and steering works ok . the engine is a l motor producing 194.3 rpm and 9.07 ncm of torque. enjoy and comment your thoughts!!!
  22. It's about a time, since I've been ended my dark ages and now it looks like my way will be rather smaller attempts and "projects", then bigger and more sophisticated ones. My older builds had their own topics here and here, but I don't think that all of my next builds will be suitable for separate topics, so I decided to make this one, where I have intention to add all of my publishable builds. And for the beginning, here is my wip small manual buggy. Buggies are favourite Technic builds, there are many of them in all sizes, shapes and qualities. This one is intended to be small and simple, all manualy working. Now it has front and rear suspesion, openable cabin, steering and rear wheels conected to fake engine. I'd like to improve rear axle suspension, add HOG and steering wheel and some details here and there. And finaly adjust color scheme, although I'm not very disturbed with this clor vomit in this type of vehicle.
  23. Hello all! Today I am presenting my newest project, an Ultra4 buggy. I know it isn't an exact copy, but I based it off one I saw and added my own details, like fake injector stacks. All that is left is an interior and working on the front suspension some more. I'm not very good at making them (suspensions), so it usually takes a while to finish them. Oh, and there's one more thing... I need to test it! I haven't been able to, because it is using broken motors as stand-ins, because my working ones are in something else. I will replace them with the real 2 L-motors and 1 Servo. I plan on using an SBrick. Tell me what you think of it so far, and what else I should add later. Thanks for taking a look! Edit: Here is the video of the completed model. 24. Hey everyone, Was just browsing the board and noticed @Forresto asking about Rebels style Tie Fighters, so I pulled up the ones I designed a little while back that I hadn't posted yet. I haven't had time to build them in real bricks yet, but once I get some free time I'll probably give it a go. First up in the Standard Rebels Tie Fighter; I combined multiple techniques from different builders from here and on Flickr to get the ball as round as possible, I can't remember who right now, but if I remember I will try to add names. Changing the wing size from the standard was a bit of a pain but this seams to hold together. Next is my version of the Inquisitor's Tie Advanced Prototype; The wings were also a pain to build on this one, I tried to keep them as thin as possible, which unfortunately means they aren't the strongest design, but they will work for now. Hope you all enjoy, I realise tie fighters are a dime a dozen, but I tried to go in a different direction with my design to better fit the Rebels aesthetic.
  25. Mechbuilds

    Need help with mech shoulders.

I'm currently building a larger sized mech. I have acquired 3 turntables. Now these two next images are spoilers for my upcoming mech build. So if you don't want to spoil the surprise of seeing the finished thing first, don't open these. But if you need to see the scale of reference for the shoulder then check them out. And here is the shoulder i'm using: I'm using a blue stud/axle pin to create friction so the shoulder doesn't just plop down from the weight of the gun turret i'm attaching to it. But my question is. How do i make this turntable into a fully functional shoulder for a mech? How do i attach it to a gun so it can also turn sideways. Only thing that is finished are the legs so since this is a WIP the upper half of the whole torso will be subject to change. I'm using Hero factory IFB cockpit + pilot in this since it is very effective and easier to build around. Any tips? Should i use balljoints or technic pieces? I haven't decided what type of guns i'm attaching for the arms. But there will be lots of missiles at the back. And lasers in the front torso around the cockpit.
