  1. Zotharith: The outskirts Zotharith lies on the borderline of a mountainous river valley and a vast swampland. Its foundation was laid on the more solid, rocky banks, where the core business activities take place. As more newcomers settle, the city's residential area expands into the marshes. Some of the newcomers develop into powerful mages, gaining wealth and status so they can find themselves a home on the banks. Others remain in the swamps, becoming farmers, fishermen or craftsmen. To prevent demographic segregation from getting out of hand, a proportion of mages is assigned to live among these commoners. Aside from supervising and peacekeeping in these communities, they offer protection to the outer domains of Zotharith, which are under constant threat of the surrounding Darklands. When the time came for Exetrius to move out of the house, he was free to pick whichever place in the city he desired, on the condition that his father would arrange the house. Instead of living in the middle of the - slightly posh - hustle and bustle of the city, Exetrius chose to take up guardian duties in the relatively relaxed suburbs. However, he had thought he was the only protector of the neighborhood, until one fateful day... ... when the real warden returned! Exetrius had been tricked! Damn father, always pulling jokes and messing with him from the shadows! Or was he playing the over-protective parent? Alternatively, he might even be questioning Exetrius' capability to handle these guardian responsibilities, because what responsibility is there left to take when the real warden is the second mage in the Order of Zotharith, of all people? It would probably be the last neighborhood bandits would dare lay a finger on... One day, his father would pay for this... But that was months ago. In time, it became clear that his fellow warden was always on the move for quests, thus giving meaning to Exetrius' duties. Ultimately, he served a purpose and his new home was rather comfortable, so overall he could live with the situation. Hello guys! Though this is not a real Saga episode, I wanted to provide some sigfig-related context. It's my largest GoH creation to date, and another one expanding Zotharith. Hopefully, you enjoyed! More pics can be found here on my Flickr seen below. C&C always appreciated! Edit: Additional pics:
  2. Ch. 1 - Ruins of Erendir With no leads and desperate to find Osiris, Aravorn grew impatient and so decided to trust in Thruk's word. Thus, he traveled to the Siccus Badlands where stumbled upon something unexpected. As Aravorn delved deeper into the plains of the Siccus Badlands, he heard the sound of a rumbling that kept growing louder and louder. At first it did not worry him much. After all, he knew of stories about the monolithic beasts that lived in Nocturnus. Instead, he wondered if he would finally catch a glimpse of them. Curious, he followed the rumbling and got as close as he could. When he did, Aravorn peaked over one of the rocky hills but was astonished at the sight he did not imagine to see. "By the lords... its a siege beast...", he proclaimed as the creature roared its loud cry. Stunned by their sheer size, Aravorn almost couldn't look away. At least until his eyes were drawn to an even more troubling sight below. "And an invasion force of hundreds...". His innocent curiosity quickly became deadly concerns. "Why are they mobilizing their soldiers? The war is over?". Aravorn wondered in deep thought until he was interrupted by a coming group of soldiers. "Get moving! Pharan expects us to be there by dawn. Now march!", the commander shouted. Aravorn quickly hid himself atop the cliffside. "Looks like that tip from Thruk was right", Aravorn said to himself. And as he secretly watched the passing soldiers go by he noticed their distinct armor. "Its the Toraga people, the barbarian tribe of half man and half orc. I did not expect that they would join Osiris' ranks, especially since they don't do well with taking orders. But I shouldn't be surprised, after all they do revel in the pride of brute strength. Still, why would they join the defeated Spire?". Aravorn quietly pondered as he noticed two soldiers part from the line. "Look at 'em, barking Pharan's orders. Here we are breaking our backs while that filthy Pharan sits in his throne room all day". "Aye, I heard its cause he gets special treatment. Something about him being one of Lord Osiris' favorites. Even gave him the fortress near the mountain range of Grum, or what's left of it anyway". "That spoiled filth ain't no warrior! He ain't deserving of a fortress". The disgruntled two continued to banter with each other. "Looks like they're not on good terms with Pharan", Aravorn thought. "But they're still following his orders and now they're headed to a fortress on the mountain's of Grum. That's all I need to know". Aravorn unsheathed his sword. "Wait, did you hear something?", the two unsuspecting soldiers looked unto the hill beside them only to see Aravorn's blade strike them down and so quickly that they could not react. With this new information, Aravorn's doubt had ceased and his new-found certainty made him all the more eager. "Stay where you are Pharan. I'm coming for you". ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys, I'm back with a recent weekend build and this time with the AT-AT walkers of the Castle universe, a war elephant. This build is actually based on [DustyBricks] brilliant Lord of the Rings Oliphant. I took a few liberties with the design, primarily with the basket. And although I unfortunately didn't have the wedge pieces to make my ideal basket design, overall I'm satisfied with the end result. As for the story, this was a bit of a rushed chapter since I haven't had much free time, but I thought it at-least got things moving. So tell me what you guys think and thanks for viewing. EDIT: Also, please ignore the spoiler tag. I screwed something up that put this entire post in a spoiler; many apologies

    Unwelcome "Adventurers"

One of the perils of owning a golden minotaur skull, is that you tend to get "adventurers" dropping by. When someone breaks into your house and starts stealing your stuff people usually call that burglary but if you are an "adventurer" its just collecting Loot. Think about it, if a horde of Lizard men come to your village and take your livestock though that's a rampage... Double standards that's what it is..

    Who's Laughing Now?

Gigs in Nocturnus are difficult to come by. The crowds if not hostile are generally just plain weird. It is a universally accepted truth that fart jokes are funny and Olly the jolly jester was counting on it.... He had forgotten the one exception to the rule - which is that you don't make a fart joke at the expense of a Lord... Still on the upside he now had a lot of time to write plenty of new material...
  5. Ch. 2 - Growing Threats It was a cold night, the kind thats perfect for a burning hearth and warm food. But Aravorn had neither. For he had been traveling along side the Rakath Mountains for three days, which was no easy task, especially by Nocturnian Standards. Had Aravorn been a lesser Ranger, he might not have survived. And even so it would not have stopped him, for he had not been wandering aimlessly. "The great halls of Erendir. A once glistening kingdom of shining knights and glory. Now just crumbling ruins", Aravorn thought to himself. Over time, Erendir had become children stories told for generations, tales that Aravorn knew well. "The irony still stings doesn't it father. To think we would end the same", Aravorn continued as he quietly reminisced in the still silence. Until he heard a large gathering of footsteps. "You look lost stranger hehe" The pack of Orc's chuckled as they revealed themselves from amidst the ruins. "This is not a safe place to be, especially for a human. Especially for a human alone." The orc's began to slowly move in closer, surrounding Aravorn. "I was looking for someone actually. Perhaps you can help me. They were a couple of Orc's. About your height and weight. Smelled just as bad too", he remarked as he noticed one of the Orcs tightening his grip around his ax. "Oh we can help you traveler hehe. In fact, I think they might be closer than you think argh!" The Orc lunged himself towards Aravorn. But Aravorn was already much too prepared. He quickly drew his great sword and blocked the orc's ax and so suddenly that it ricocheted off his blade. And in that split moment, Aravorn swiftly sliced the orc's head from his shoulders. "That swordsmanship. He's no traveler, Its a ranger!" The Orc shouted. "What's a ranger doing he!?", but before he could finish, Aravorn struck down the surrounding Orcs, making quick work of the pack. He was tempted to finish them off at once, but he needed answers and so killed all but one. "W-wait! Please, spare me oh wise and noble young master. I am but a lowly humble orc." The Orc groveled. But Aravorn knew better than to trust an Orc's pleas. "A lowly humble Orc? Do not test me. I know who you are, Thruk the Fiendish. You are no feeble creature", he remarked as he pressed his sword against the Orc's neck. "During the war, you served the Black Spire. You served the one named Lord Osiris. Tell me where he is or I will slay you here and now", Aravorn threatened. "I-I don't know! We never met him", Thruk cried out. "Do not lie to me", he replied, restraining himself from stabbing the Orc. "N-no it's true! We only knew him by name. We were recruited by one of his emissaries. Pharan, I-I think was his name. He was in charge of guarding supply routes through the Siccus Badlands. Maybe you'll find Osiris there". The sword grew dangerously closer, choking the already struggling to breathe Orc. "I-I swear t-that's a-all I k-know." Aravorn could not find himself to trust in Thruk but he was desperate for a lead. if he ever had a chance of finding Osiris, he was going to have to find Pharan first, or so he thought. Thruk, however, had now outlived his use. "I'll send him your regards". He finished off the Orc in a swift strike, granting Thruk his relief. "The Siccus Badlands", he said unto himself, looking over to the now dawning horizon. "I'm going to need a horse". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey guys, I finally got around to building something for Nocturnus. I decided to start off with a new sig-fig(Aravorn) and make my old sig-fig(Lord Osiris) the villain. As for the build, I took a bit of freedom from the traditional look of Castle ruins and experimented with a more blocky style of stonework. Overall, a small simple build and not my best work but I thought it made a decent introduction for my character. So tell me what you guys think and thanks for viewing Also, credit to 11inthewoods for the torso and leg combo on Aravorn.

    Moruth Swamp Outpost Redux

To love Nocturnus is to love the swamps. In my mind’s-eye, there aren’t many landscapes that so embody “wild” as a swamp: dark, waterlogged, chirring with insects and frogsong—or, in northern wintry mode, a frozen-over backwater of tussocks, deadfall, and horned owls. Should you doubt the healthful stimulus a swamp provides the human spirit, just dip into Henry Thoreau's writings. “I enter a swamp as a sacred place—a sanctum sanctorum. There is the strength—the marrow of Nature” (“Walking”). Or, from the same essay: “Yes, though you may think me perverse, if it were proposed to me to dwell in the neighborhood of the most beautiful garden that ever human art contrived, or else of a Dismal Swamp, I should certainly decide for the swamp.” Here, here! So, without further non-GoH ado, here is my Swamp Outpost Redux. Some of you old timers may remember my swamp outpost from a few years back. This one fills pretty much the same purpose: respite for the weary swamp travelers, a place to re-supply and a staging point for Resistance forces operating throughout the Moruth Swamps. With lighting and smoke from a half-broken fog machine (it finally bit the dust on me!): Thanks for looking!
  7. Deep within the Rakarth mountains, where even Raavage's foul servants fear to go, lies a vast and forsaken land known as the Void Valley. Nothing inhabits this wicked realm in current times, but the Void Valley was once the site of an ancient and great power. All which remains of this dark kingdom is an edifice known only to a few as Foyodran Tower. Located in far within the Void Valley, Foyodran Tower rises above the surrounding lava lakes as an imposing artifact of an age long forgotten. Only a few know of Foyodran's existence, and even fewer know the dark and fearsome power which still resides in its corridors. The last one known to make this journey was Senurhem Nogad, leader of the Covenant of Nocturnus and ally of the Black Spire. He sought the tower's dark powers as an aid to crush the rising Resistance. He was never seen again. Some suggest Foyodran Tower betrayed Senurhem and that the evil powers within consumed his body and spirit. Others say Raavage, fearing a dark power greater than his own, appeared before Senurhem and cast him into the fiery pits of Void Valley. One thing is certain, however: the evil and terrible magic which lurks in Foyodran was never unlocked, much to the benefit of the Free People of Nocturnus. After setbacks forced the Black Spire to relinquish its control over much of the Rakarths, the Void Valley is now firmly in Resistance hands. Its entrance has since been sealed up in hopes that whatever dark power lies within will never be released. ------------------------------------------ Hello! Geez, here we are, another build from months ago, just now posted here. I hoped to fit this somehow into Chapter V, but other, more daunting priorities kept my attention elsewhere and I pretty much missed the entire challenge. Nevertheless, here it is my friends. Better late than never, I suppose! I actually had this thing together for more than a year before I was able to get any decent pictures of it. We Nocturnians are plagued by the difficulty in photographing black, and Foyodran Tower was a particular challenge. As the months wore on, I developed an intense hate for this build. It's just so ugly. I took it to several LUG displays, secretly praying I would drop it or some other disaster would befall it. But Foyodran's luck held out and it survived each trip (though, of the 12,000 orange neon bits in there, I'd say at least a thousand are scattered around convention centers in Arkansas and in various vehicles). I couldn't have been more excited to get these few pictures and finally destroy this evil and monstrous creation for good. Though, to be completely fair to this MOC, it truly looked much better in real life. These photos really don't do justice to the scale and design. But all things, good and evil, must come to an end. Like sands through the hourglass, Foyodran too has passed through time and into another realm (well, back into the proper plastic containers, anyways). Thanks for looking y'all!
  8. Exetrius Saga 1: Fallen leaf 2: Message in Kyrrath 3: Equipment upgrade 4: Subjection of a legend 5: Family Dinner 6: Attack of the Hunters 7: Taking the Runestone 8: Supplies Arrive! 9: Festival of the Ranks (part 1) 10: Festival of the Ranks (part 2) 11: Festival of the Ranks (part 3) 12: The ranks are out! 13: Taking a stand, for Nocturnus! Episode 14: Ride through Nocturnus Several weeks have past since that fateful day; the day the Council decided to rebel against the Black Spire, by rejecting Lord Raavage's forceful request to deliver 500 soldiers. Furthermore, on that day, Onicius had vowed that he would turn Zotharith into the strongest Resistance stronghold. The next day, Damascian, messenger and knight of the sky, set off to summon Zotharith's wandering wizards and warriors, from every corner of Nocturnus. (Full story here) The message was simple and the purpose was clear: "You are ordered to abandon your mission and return to Zotharith at once, to defend headquarters." Within two weeks, every major force of the upper ranks had been notified. In the meantime, Onicius temporarily transferred his duties of ruling the city to his son Exetrius, for the first time ever, assisted by Zeruko Urima. He descended into the underground research vault, where he locked himself in to complete the Arcane Regulation Core (ARC), intended to play a key role in Zotharith's defense. (Full story here) Among the wandering warriors, was Murgon the Dragonslayer. He had come from a mission at the very north of the Darklands. Travelling on horseback, the road back had been long and exhausting, but finally he entered the familiar autumnal forests of the valley that surrounds Zotharith. Apparently, his brown traveling companion started to smell the stables, as it suddenly accelerated from walking pace to a full gallop. After this turn in the road, they would be greeted with the sight of the watchtower, at the edge of the city... Almost there, home is waiting for us around the corner! To be continued.... in the next episode: Refreshment at the lavoir Hello GoH, I'm back with a build! I still have heaps of characters to introduce, so here is at least one of them. Hopefully, you don't mind the little recap of lore that appeared in my Challenge V entries. Be sure to give C&C, it's always appreciated! Oh, and the obligatory overview shot:
  9. An Excerpt from Recorin Orbi | Volume 467 | Cometi Cycle 7634 | Oredurin (World Chronicler) Arcturin I "The tunnel was long. Longer than the funeral and mourning period of a Wredurin put together of darkness. This is to be expected of a disused exit from our ancient city, but having left our would for the upper in prior events via other routes, I did not expect this way to extend as it did. A band of 9 left the city, comprised of the Oredurin, the Ferdurin, an assistant Durin, and 6 soldiers who were willing to adventure. The cycle of 7634 draws to a close as we seek the Resistance of Nocturnus, to chronicle them and aid in what ways we can against Raavage, a monster of unknown origin. I'm sure if the body is intact, the Aerdurin will expect me to bring it back. The place we emerged was one of little activity, with nary a creature in sight. The march began immediately, and for the first 4 days, we saw no one, except for a large insect and a rider, high in the sky. (For more on this insect, please consult Recorin Flori V. 1698) An Excerpt from Recorin Flori | Volume 1698 | Cometi Cycle 7634 | Ferdurin (Flora+Fauna Chronicler) Casoreon III "This volume is dedicated to the observation of all available info regarding the as of yet unnamed, but ride-able large, quadwinged insect seen shortly after the exit from the tunnels on the way to the Resistance of the Upper's Nocturnus. This insect can apparently support a rider and a decent amount of baggage, as evidenced by the apparent cargo of the specimen observed in flight. More data when sighted again." An excerpt from Recorin Orbi | Volume 468 | Cometi Cycle 7634 | Oredurin Arcturin I "The road to the resistance camp, deep in the southern swamps, is a long one, but the journey was uneventful for the purposes of this recorin. The innumerable creatures, sentient and not, are being recorded by Casoreon and the assistant Durin as fast as they can, while retaining our standard. They have even the help of one of the soldiers, who has taken an interest in the various trees of the upper." "After several weeks we arrived at our destination and made ourselves known to the leaders of the resistance. The one called The Lord of Dragons seemed very intrigued by the methods and details of the recorins made so far, and desired copies of any to be had upon certain dragon species. After a waiting period of several days in which the leaders debated this new race, unbeknownst for so long, our band of Inani was assigned to a raid upon an outpost of the Spire, Raavage's forces, named for the obsidian spike which holds Nocturnus, and all of the Upper if he achieves victory, in an iron grip. The raid was carried out swiftly, with cries of "For Nocturnus! THE RESISTANCE!" And "For Historica!" Ringing through the halls as the soldiers from every guild destroyed every spire adherent found within. I remained in the distance, with the other commanders of different forces. The raid was led by a captain of Shadowmere, but, for the first time in thousands of Cycles, an Inani fought in the upper." "This series of events repeated itself as the Armies of free Historica marched towards the spire. The outposts grew to large castles, containing hundreds of spire soldiers, and more spire troops met us in the open field. After our second assault, the Inani were formally accepted into the ranks of the Free Peoples of Nocturnus." "After weeks of constant fighting, only the Spire itself remained. Today the entire army was called into one assembly, and as heralds spread throughout the crowd they prepared to read from a scroll written by the leaders of free Nocturnus. Suddenly, Lord Vladvius of Shadowmere himself, a warrior and leader like no other, appeared on a raised platform, a hollow cone before him amplified his voice, as he spoke these words, which are recorded unaltered, 'Nocturnians! Avalonians! Mitgardians! Kaliphinites! We are all historicans! And today we will march against the last unholy peak of Raavage, The Spire itself! We face death and destruction today, but we do this to secure the future of Historica! FOR THE NEWFOUND KING!' At that he stepped away from the cone and an Orc let out a guttural war cry which will live in the minds of all present forever. The cry was echoed by the whole army, as it surged towards the Spire." An Excerpt from Recorin Flori | Volume 1955 | Cometi Cycle 7634 | Ferdurin Casoreon III "Raavage is a creature like no other. He wears heavy armor and a helm which threatens all of the Upper, yet under that helm he somehow has room for 6 horns, which must be flexible in order to avoid breaking. It is also possible that they break off and regenerate. His features are wolv-ish, but he lacks claw of any significance. Swords (2) seem to be his weapon for this battle, as he mows down many ranks, then vanishes to some high tower, according to an eagle. (See Recorin Flori V. 1820)" An Excerpt from Recorin Orbi | Volume 468 | Cometi Cycle 7634 | Oredurin Arcturin I "On the peak of the tower, known as Raavage's crown, the Lord of the Spire and his loyal adherent Lord Osiris Vorn, faced down some of the greatest warriors Historica has ever seen. Vladvius of Shadowmere, Anfauglir a defector of the spire, Finn a great axe-warrior of Mitgardia, Henjin of House Quilones, an Avalonian lord, Aymeri one of Kaliphin's High-lords, and one Oredurin who's battle skills were unproven. They faced off, neither side making the first move, until Raavage lept into the air..." C&C welcome, and I hope everyone who appeared in the story liked their representation. Some decorations are missing from the warriors in the stand off due to the time involved in making new decorations for the Mecabricks library (I added the Lord Vlad ones specifically for this), but I hope to eventually make it so everyone who builds digitally has easy access to a figure of all the main characters in Historica. 3D Viewers: Emergence Outpost Raid Raavage's Crown
  10. Raavage's secret weakness Somewhere in the surrounding of Cedrica, after he met the main heroes of Historica, the true heir of the Throne prepaed the most difficult part of his plan to defeat Raavage and the Spire... He's discretly rebuilt an old fort at the limit of the border between Avalonia and the Cedrica territory. It is at this Fort he called some vaillant heroes from all the Guilds ! First; a ranger from Avalonia : Then, a Serpentar Druid from Nocturnus, Followed by a Cimetar bearer from Kaliphlin, And finally, a Dwarf Hammer Warrior from Midgardia. They all gathered at the fortress without knowing who the True King was... What a surprise ! The King, the Heir, the Future leader of all the Guilds is a CHILD ?! - My dear heroes ! My dear Friends ! I am guarranting you I am ready for this battle and with your help, we will use the only chance we will get to catch Raavage from the Spire ! The only opportunity we can seize, is obvious ! The time when he will go out of the Spire to collect his precious Helmet of Power ! At this time, we will destroy his guard, seize him and finally destroy him for ever ! - But... How!? Asked all the heroes. - Thanks to my prisoner ! It appeared the King's Heir captured a strange creature who exchanged its freedom to betrail Raavage... The hideous creature told the little boy Raavage secret weak point ! It did not took long time to Raavage to move to the supposed location of the Helmet in a Kaliphlinite Oasis. The rare guards around were not a problem for the groups of heroes from all the 4 Guilds to defeat ! The main problem was Raavage and his guard inside an old ruin and gathered around the Helmet on its Pedestal ! Raavage took the Helmet. And he wore it imediately ! - NO ! Yelled the little Heir ! You FOUL ! The Helmet is secured ! He had just enough the time to finish the sentence than a Monstruous tentacled beast rose from the soil and torn appart everyone who stood at range ! Finally it seemed the main damaged was for the Skeletons but the Ravage guard stood well and a terrible battle began ! Here, the Algus repelling the spells from the Druids ! There, the Heavy armored warriors clashing with the best Midgardian steel ! And Raavage, powerful than never ! But... The little King slipped behind him with the strange creature he used against Raavage and put an apple in front of the nose of the Spire leader who started to sneeze and caugh loudly, enough to fall unarmed at the mercy of the boy !! - Yes ! You've guessed it ! Raavage is dangerously allergic to apples ! We cast him away just with this fruit ! A good king, is always the wisest ! THE END

    Green Abyss

Green Abyss is a town hidden deep in the swamps of the Moruth. A haven for refugees and criminals alike, this town's populace asks very little questions and hate's the authority of both the spire and the resistance. Another freebuild..thanks for stopping in and happy building! To see detail shots, head on over to my flickr page.
  12. Hey all! I’ve wanted to start a personal story in GoH for a while now, and it finally is happening. I completed the second build of the start yesterday, and I hope there will follow a lot more… The story is about my sigfig and in the first episodes I’ll be telling the story from his youth till now, as he reigns over Kyrrath, The city of purple. Afterwards there will be new stories, but I don’t have any clear ideas for that yet(as I first need to complete these builds ) It has been almost 5 years now, since that day. that one day… Now it should be over, it’s time for justice! It’s time for revenge! Whispers Kiarr to himself. It all started peaceful. Kiarr and his twin brother Rignar grew up in a peaceful Mitgardian family. They were the only two children of their parents, and Kiarr was the oldest, as he was born a few minutes before his brother. But his parents favored his brother more than him, and that makes Kiarr angry. But as Kiarr was angry, it didn’t went that bad, as in their normal lives, there wasn’t a huge difference between Kiarr and Rignar. But that suddenly changed at their 10th birthday… It was a cold but beautiful day. And what makes it even more beautiful, was the 10th birthday of the twin brothers Kiarr and Rignar. And in their family, when you reach the age of 10, it’s a special celebration as from that moment you will be counted as a man, and get training in fighting/hunting and other important things man have to do. And to celebrate it, the oldest boy of a family will get a special ‘family’ axe. This weapon has an enormous value for the family members and it shows who will be the heritor of the family. That one day, everything started great. The whole family was ready for the celebration and was waiting for their uncle Wiglaf(sigfig of @[Claus von Nassau]) to bring the family axe, so the ceremony could start. And around 10 o’clock they heard the sound of a horse walking around the house. That has to be Wiglaf! And Kiarr, Rignar and their mum ran outside to welcome their uncle: Wiglaf has arrived and the ceremony could start. But then the moment came that completely changed the life of Kiarr(and his family as well… ) as Wiglaf doesn’t give the Family-axe to Kiarr (as he was the oldest son) but he gives it to Rignar! And it wasn’t even a mistake, as his parents do notice it, but don’t stop Wiglaf from doing this! Instead of the family axe he deserved, now Kiarr gets a magic box. It’s also a nice present, but it just can’t be compared to a family axe(as that also means he won’t be the heritor of his family)… And from that day on, Kiarr is looking for justice! Or he will be the most important son, or no one will! It’s five years later, and it’s their birthday again. Kiarr has practiced with his magicbox every day for five years now. And now he knows he is strong enough to turn this day into a nightmare for his family! It’s 10 o’clock. Like five years ago. But today his family is inside the house and he is outside. Kiarr creates a small purple magic-ball, and let it grow bigger… And when it has enough power, Kiarr throws the ball to their house. The house shakes, and flames are everywhere in the house. Kiarr keeps looking at it until the flames are extinguished. Then he leaves a purple sign at the floor of the house and flees.. No one knows what has happened and what the purple sign means.. only Kiarr himself knows it, but he has fled to Nocturnus. But when Kyrrath rises, things will come clear for other people… But that does happen several years later after this day, and will come clear in future parts of the story of Kiarr…. So here you have it, my first part of the story of my sigfig, Lord Kiarr.. Hope you enjoy it! Here are some more photos of the builds: The backside of the house: (actually I built this one a year ago, and it’s also at the Mitgardian poster….) The backside of the ruins: And an overview photo so you can compare the 2 builds: I hope you enjoy this build and story, and I hope to continue the stoy anytime soon... Jaap
  13. Hey there! Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to finish my cat. B entry in time, but instead I have something else for you... (maybe I'll finish the entry as a freebuild somewhere in the near future...) As you know(or don't) am I the founder of the purple city of Kyrrath. And for a big part, it's similar to other city's in many ways. But when you look to the expansion of Kyrrath, than there is a difference with other citys. Yes, there are some houses that are just build up from the ground, but since Kyrrath has declared loyalty to the spire, there has been a second way of expansion: In a lot of places there are citizens that would like to be loyal to the spire, but do live in areas where most of the population is helping the resistance out. But now there's something beautiful, something magical for these people... When they use purple amethystdust from Kyrrath, and paint their roofs purple, their houses will come to live, and move towards Kyrrath, to settle there and be able to support the spire, The true leader of Nocturnus! Oh, and when the houses come across pirateships, or other buildings loyal to the resistance, they don't doubt destroying them... Here are the photos: This build is also an entry for the finals of The Tourney, that is the reason why this ship design is based at the design of my enemy over there, W. Navarre. But it is a complete rebuild, using my own techniques and designchoises. Credits to him tho for the original design of the ship. And lastly a picture of the house itself, without a ship covering the whole front... I hope you enjoy my build, and if you also want to live in Kyrrath, don't wait any longer, buy some Kyrrath' amethyst dust and paint your roof purple.... C&C always welcome! Have a nice day, Jaap
  14. Beneath the Zotharian city hall lays a secret, safeguarded chamber with thick, reinforced walls. The chamber is said to contain Zotharith's most prestigious projects. Ten days or so ago, Onicius locked himself in this place, only to be disturbed by those delivering either food or materials, twice a day. He has been tinkering on an immensely complicated magical device. The process from idea, to working out the design, and building took months, but now, it is nearing completion... Onicius calls it the Arcane Regulation Core (ARC), which will eventually enable him to control arcane magic flows on a whole different level. The wheels of fate are slowly starting to turn! Hello guys! I had this build in mind for the Exetrius Saga for half a year or so, but I thought it would be a fitting entry to the Challenge as well, so built it earlier then I originally planned to. Turned out fine in my opinion, even though I had to rush the base. Hope you enjoyed, C&C always appreciated!
  15. See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga: Chapter 1 -What Has Past- Chapter 2 -What Has Past- Chapter 3 The Green Dragon Inn Bustle at Treacleheim At the Gates of Budd-apest Dragon-Forged Blade in Treacleheim Charlemagne's Residence Dragon Taming Defense of the North The Sultan's Rider Charlemagne was almost regretting not listening to Kyran's threats. Now he was a captive of the council of vampires that had sided with the Black Spire. Another of the vampire lords was showing him their recent war efforts as their built new siege engines. Charlemagne knew he never would have sided with Raavage, the Desert King was the only true ruler. But it sure would have been nice if his captors would have left him in his cell rather than talk his ear off.
  16. In the forest that ringed a Black Spire castle, Lord Maestro's men busied them selves constructing siege weapons. Prepared in modules back in Avalonia, soaring siege towers and devastating were slowly being pieced together (almost like Lego ). Today Lord Maestro surveyed a new contraption. Adapted from an ordinary Ballista , The Maestro's architects swore it was twice as powerful. To show their allegiance was to Avalonia they had fitted it with a Dragon head, the emblem of our their guild. A close up Looking down the barrel of the beast Entry to challenge V Category B, this was an interesting build. I have only done something like this once, and you can probably see the resemblance I hope the Dragon head looks ok to you guys, because im not completely satisfied with it. I think the landscape turned out good though, that red stuff is meant to be moss/grass. Should have Cat D up soon, C&C needed and hope you enjoy
  17. Location: Somewere in Nocturnus Since Lord Jürgen was tending to more important matters at the moment, he sent his Second in command to personally oversee the the building of the weapon that would help to secure the spire's place as the rightful rulers of Nocturnus. Jürgen had called it the Spire's spire, and had said that it's purpose was as a sort of portal or planar gate to allow the soldiers of the spire to quickly arrive at various strategic positions across Nocturnus. Perhaps, if all went well, they would begin to build more outside of Nocturnus.... Sorry for the poor quality of light, I'm currently photographing this stuff on an IPad.
  18. Hey all! For a while, I've want to build something for the frozen beyond, but I never made time for it. When I was building for a contest, with a mage-battle category, I decided it was time for a build for The Frozen Beyond. For those that are wondering, no it doesn't have purple roofs, so this isnt located in Kyrrath. This build is located somewhere in the land in south of Kyrrath. The reason I didn't go for purple roofs(wanted to do so, at first) is that I didnt want to use black in my build, and I don't have enough purple wedges for all the roofs. So in the end I went for the blue-orange colorscheme, to make an unrealistic color-combination, although I didn't want it to look 'weird'. In the end I'm quite pleased with the result, so now it's up to you to make your own opinion at my build :) I didn't really make a story, but my build shows that the algus is still slowly spreading over the guilds... It has even reached one of the 'hottest' places, far into the nocturnus' lands... But although they come close to these places, the algus isn't strong enough to capture the house of the fire-mage... This far from the north, the power of the Algus isn't that big anymore, and the icemage gets blown away by the firespells, used by the fire-mage... Here are the pictures: The build itself: The fire-mage: The Algus-mage gets a 'warm welcome'..... And here some other views at the house: And finally a shot from above, that shows the different angles in the build quite nicely.. I hope you like my build, And feel free to share your opinion :) Jaap
  19. Hey there! Finally there's a new GoH build from me! It's been about a year ago since my last one... :/ But I got some plans for new builds, when I'll be finished with The Tourney contest at mocpages... I didn't have a great idea for category A of the challenge for a while, but yesterday evening I found one(and also one for cat. B), and I couldn't resist building it as I think it's stupidly funny . Anyway, here it is: Messenger: "Hey, soldier! I got an important message for Lord Kiarr. Where can I find him? The message should not be lost!" Soldier: "Oh, hey! Welcome to Kyrrath! So you got a message? Interesting! hehe... Messenger: "Sure I got a message, and it's really important! Can you tell me please where Lord Kiarr is? Soldier: "Sure I can, but first I have some questions, as I can't send everybody to my Lord..." Messenger: "It's a message from the resistance, with some very important information! If it get lost, The spire will rule over whole Nocturnus!" Soldier: "So it's an important message against the spire?!?..." Messenger: "Yes, the leaders of the resistance send me to Kyrrath to deliver it to Lord Kyrrath, so Nocturnus will get rescued from the spire!" Soldier: "As you can see, we got a special mailbox for important messages about the war against the spire. Put it in there, and no one that may not read the message will be able to get it out of it, hehe" (He didn't even lie) Messenger: "Great, that looks very safe! I'll put the letter in the box!" "Thanks for the help, and have a nice day!" Soldier: "I wish you a 'safe' trip back! As 'safe' as your message is! hehe..." When the messenger has left: Soldier: "hehe, stupid boy. The leaders of the resistance make it easy for us, the spire, if they keep using these stupid, less intelligent messengers..." "This way, there's not even a single reason to kill the messengers, if they are so stupid! And I didn't even have to lie to him! hehe... " And here's the build: GoH - Challenge A - The Mailbox! And here's the way we stop messages from the resistance in Kyrrath: GoH - Challenge A: The mailbox! Kyrrath for purple, Kyrrath for the spire! Quite a rushed build, but I think you get the idea, and I decided it was funny enough to build and share with you! Hope you enjoy! Jaap

    [Bk.II.5 Cat.A] Air Mail

For the Resistance! In Nocturnus, there are places in-acessible to even the most agile of land messengers. As all forces are needed to overthrow the spire, messengers have taken to the skies. I had better plans for this category, but a computer death threw that plan out the window. C&C Welcome! I'm also on flickr now.
  21. See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga: Chapter 1 -What Has Past- Chapter 2 -What Has Past- Chapter 3 The Green Dragon Inn Bustle at Treacleheim At the Gates of Budd-apest Dragon-Forged Blade in Treacleheim Charlemagne's Residence Dragon Taming Defense of the North Charlemagne was missing! And with the war looming on the horizon, the Sultan of Budd-apest knew he would need Charlemagne's help. So he sent a rider north to Dalig Ulv to warn Wyndor of the coming battle and of Charlemagne's disappearance. (Better pictures coming in the next day or two!) They're in!
  22. A courier is traveling to Kaliphlin with intelligence regarding the political situation in Nocturnus, but the shortcut he chose took him longer than expected... In Nocturnus the flora is also not to be underestimated. My first GoH build in a year, it feels great to be back!
  23. This is my entry for the Category A of Challenge V in Guilds of Historica. On a sunny morning there was clamor and fear in the streets of Norvica. What was going on why some residents of this peaceful town are sceaming and flee into their houses ? A Nocturnian orc was riding on a horse with a fasten prisoner draging behind him. Everybody recognize this prisoner, it was Bundar the farmer, he lives in a ranch a few miles outside the city. Wait a minute, orcs never ride horses, that must be Bundar his horse he is riding on !! Two members of the royal guards of Norvica are coming in action and try to make a ambush for this Nocturnian orc and free Bundar. Lets hope they make this nightmare to a good end, because the guards of Norvica never got a challenge like this before. For more pictures look on my Flickr account.

  25. Somewhere high in the Rakath mountains... Orc (crossbow) What's that sound? Orc (axe) Aye, what? Orc (crossbow) Rustle of the air, round the back of the mountain. ... It's getting louder, better check the pass! Orc (axe) Aye, gonna look, boss. ... Aye, something fly'nour way, kinda fas.... At that moment, a knight of steel shot past the mountain ridge at incredible speed, and leaving behind a blazing trail of deep blue flames... Zotharith's research institute recently developed a flying magical device, powered by exceptionally durable blue arcane crystals. Damascian of My'athar, a cunning, skillful knight, was entrusted with it, to carry out an important mission: calling all wandering wizards to return to Zotharith. His target being in some town in the Rod's Peaks, a long period of continuous flight ahead, Damascian was killing some time by doing nose dives and scaring a few mountain orcs out of their wits... Damascian Spire or not, these guys are just too much fun to mess with! ------------------------------ Hello guys, here's my Cat. A entry, for the Resistance! I hope you like it! I designed Damascian way back in April 2016, but I never really knew how to introduce this character or what his role would be, until this challenge came around. Also, I had been playing with the idea of a mountain ridge outpost for a very long time, so it was great to finally have a go at it (though maybe I got a little carried away with that part, given the catagory). I wanted to make the most of the 256 stud area, so I didn't go with the standard configuration. Extra images: Area is 217 studs, counted from the ground up to the third layer of plates. The original design for Damascian. Thank you for looking, C&C appreciated, as always!
