Introducing the brand new Kawashita Aerospace Heavy Space Fighter: The SF-47 Tsurugi-G We at the Kawashita Group are proud to present the glorious fruit of a decade's R&D which has resulted in the most superfluous of "Heavy" class space fighters. Our pilots will have the honor of piloting a multi-role, highly versatile, and long-range combat platform within the next few weeks as the product is rolled out to factories throughout Kawashita space. We've done our best to mitigate the design doc leak, so if you've seen it please refrain from telling me as I am too low-level a functionary to not report it to my superiors. Watch especially for demonstrations of those "Bushi" dual Kinetic-cannons! Marvel at the Tsurugi-G's next-level armored underbody. Here at Kawashita, we take the safety of our pilots most seriously. Shame at the failure of a product of Kawashita Aerospace is shame shared by all, and therefore we have included advanced shielding coils prominently in the underbody of the ship wherein the pilot is most vulnerable. Note also the gracefully folding undercarriage! It cuts quite the imposing figure! And oh my! Those "Kirin" engines! With limited FTL capability, the Kirin ensures that the Tsurugi-G is the most mobile and long-range Heavy fighter ever developed by Kawashita. Builder's Notes: -I totally stole the seat design from Bob's Crimson Pilgrim. Which remains my favorite Lego space ship. Period. -The Tsurugi-G is probably one of my top 3 favorite things I've made with Lego and one of the ones of which I am most proud. I've never attempted a MOC fighter of this calibre, using SNOT and other advanced (for me) techniques to get the shape and feel I wanted. I really enjoyed tinkering with it and it was a build wherein I tried a lot of stuff before settling. I'm pretty happy with it but the photos probably reveal a few details or mistakes that could have used more work. Oh well, can't do this forever or I'll miss my weekly and never mind the other categories of the Challenge! -Lots more pictures on my Flickr, of course. -Thanks for looking, bring on the C&C since I still have a few days to fix anything huge. So here is the catergory A entry, the Osuzumebachi (Japanese Giant Hornet in english), a sleek and fast spacefighter. *** Start Log *** Julali 24th, AD 3825 Thesseus B. Von Geekington reporting "Wow, this thing is fast!" Testing the `Giant Hornet` class fighter, Thesseus was impressed by the speed of the small craft. A while ago, a call from the high ups had come in that the Kawashita forces where being mobilised to face `an Unknown Menace`, on which, well being unknown, not much was known. The Pale Lady had granted him one of the newest types of fighter vessels, the Osuzumebachi class infiltrator fighter. A small and sturdy vessel, though lightly armed with two small blaster cannons, but powered by two very large ion engines... "This should get the job done", he reflected, "Thesseus, 3, 2, 1, ...UCHIAGE!" *** End Log *** The engines are glowing hot and leave a trail of ion energy as she shoots forward. Layered wings showing off the Kawashita colour scheme. I really enjoyed building this small vessel, and won`t be recycling it anytime soon... now hopefully it will be granting me some nice stack of credits :-)

I wanted my own ship since the first days in Andromeda, but it was too expensive to bring my old one here through the Gate. But not so long time ago Octan Corporation had researched spaceship mastery and launched the orbital shipyards on Farmolis: and here, above our new homeworld, the prices are finally affordable. "Galeopterus" is almost ready. Should be able to test it in flight very soon. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- OS-21.2C "Galeopterus" is a small transport/reconnaissance craft equipped with quantum field generator to hide its heat signature (hence, the "S" is added to standard Octan Corporation Space Vessel naming). The craft's purpose is to supply cover operation groups deep inside rivals' territory or alien-infected sectors. Henry Moose Personal Log: Today I got my first flight in one of the newest MANTIS toys; the Hornet Class Gunship. If I'm honest my first impressions were that it looks to be more gun than ship.... The two giant particle cannons aren't exactly subtle, I doubt that if I come across any Octan or Kawashita vessels I could convince them my intentions were peaceful. Though maybe when your staring down both barrels you can be convinced of anything... The cockpit is hardly spacious, and the field of view isn't great, but at least the radiators on the particle cannon shield my eyes from the glare when firing. And despite the lack of subtlety she looks very sleek. The technicians assure me that whilst the drive looks like a re-purposed trash can, it is in fact a precision engineered pulse-fusion thrust chamber... and it just so happens that the most efficient geometry is identical to that of a universal standard waste disposal cylinder. She flies reasonably well, though is far better suited to space than atmo... And I'm all for efficiency and smart design, but really, using the nose landing gear as the targeting array....? Still, this is much cooler than the survey ships I would have been flying for Octan and it's only two days until my first larvae Friday. I can't help but be a little worried about what they are expecting me to have to go out and fight with this thing though.... EDIT: resized pics and added an extra shot.

Tags: Science, Flying Vehicle/spaceship Location: G09, Greater Drigo "Log date 409, This is Dr. Danielle Long. Drone inspection of Greater Drigo has uncovered several "Unidentified Anomalies" one of which is clearly a spaceship. The vehicle itself appears to be recently made, but it's design is identical to those used by humans from the 20th, 21st, or 23rd century (I'm not a history buff. I'll leave the dating to the Axle's experts.) Regardless, this is an ancient human vessel, but it's recently made... the object is completely abandoned, and there is no sign of activity in the area for years... drones in the area have also detected bizarre gravity and temporal anomalies in close proximity to the Object. This certainly calls for further investigation. Dr. Long signing out." Flight mode This is the second neo classic space themed MoC I've built, but it won't be the last. You'll see many such MoCs from me the next few weeks as I begin hosting "Blacktron Mafia" (sign ups open in a few days!) I am pretty pleased with this spaceship, but as always, criticism and Critiques are more than welcome! Better pictures are up. It's impressive how much difference a little light can make! Well, i finally went and photographed this one. I already took it to the previous LowLUG meet where a lot of people could see it already. I didn't feel like photographing it because it has the wrong canopy colour, and i'm super picky when it comes to that stuff. But i haven't been able to get my hands on one, and i decided to photograph it without it, as it's still a cool MOC and i want to share it with everyone. Enjoy! Grand thief spaceship. So, I stole an Octan hover cycle from an Octan spaceport on Arium Major. It handles nicely. I may re- paint it in the near future... (I got the Idea after seeing the 10-year old putting together the motorcycle part with the X-wing thingys on the side and said, That's genius! (And I turned out as a nice little vehicle. I only had the pieces in white( So far... ), so I made it Octan) Hope you like it. C&C welcome.

[ A new, bigger spacecraft done in the same style as a previous one but with the aid of more experience and Bricklink. I retained certain design elements but was able to expand upon the original style in a way that makes me feel better about the whole thing. This new ship doesn't fall apart nearly as often when handled, and to reduce the amount of handling I have to do it comes with its own display stand, modeled after the Action Base accessory kits that are sold alongside Gunpla plastic model kits. In addition, I was able to increase the amount of lime green, dark blue, and trans-neon green, which meant I didn't have to rely on gray greebles as much to fill in the empty spaces. Finally, this ship has much fewer visible studs than the previous and what would have been wasted detail space has been used to great effect (in my opinion)! A bit of lore: While the previous ship in this style serves a scouting/general presence role, this ship comes equipped with two particle lance cannons and a larger particle drive system. This particular variant of the basic drive system comes equipped with a larger particle-reactor core and additional deflectors directly aft of the main particle emitters, as well as a modified particle guide vane geometry. The ship comes equipped with extra secondary particle emitters for better maneuverability as well. Whereas the previous scout ship's particle drive is engineered for long-range endurance and its guide vane geometry is optimized for a higher slipspace speed, this ship's drive system allows for sharper trajectory curves and a wider range of speeds, while also providing the output for the particle lance cannons. Location: D04 Terrial Minor Tags: MANTIS, Exploration, Ground Vehicle, spaceship interior SpaceSteve has been searching the barren surface of Terrial Minor for sources of water to be used for new MANTIS agricultural operations. - Eventually after a couple weeks of searching. He comes across a small oasis. It is teeming with life forms and plant life. He scans the oasis and sets the beacon for future MANTIS development. - - - Suddenly he get a call from the Sythe in orbit. KosmicKevan- Steve you had better get back up here we are heading through the gate ahead of schedule. We have been summoned by a very important individual in the **Classified** system. I have sent a dropship to your location. - Back on the Scythe KosmicKevan informs SpacerSteve about what he knows about the meeting. - SpacerSteve- Well this will should be interesting... KosmicKevan- He says he knows the location of **Classifed** we haven't seen him since we left Spyrius. Location: E02 - Jurin II Tags: Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Civil After crash landing on Jurin II, Pilot John Hannibal left his medic/mechanic/explorer droid Dora to scout the area while he was away. As she gives him a tour of all of her favorite discoveries, John and Dora come across two new colonists, the Jins, retrieving their freshly delivered frontier pod. Ma' Jin very happy to see John, who has been the majority investor in their colonization bid with Octan, and John is excited to get such a good look at his eager, and not-so-shy colonist. Climb your butt back up here and say hi!" Dora - "HI MA'!" Hannibal - "No need for that Mrs. Jin, I can see that he's busy..." George - "John!? I'll be right up." Hannibal - "Stay put for a minute George, I've got to come down there anyway, my droid is tracking something she saw a couple of weeks ago, it must be down a little lower." Ma' - "Oh, that's very likely John. These trees grow so fast whatever you're looking for is likely to have been consumed by now. And call me Ma' you turkey, you're every bit of our family, like it or not" Hannibal - "Yes Ma'. Very possible, about the growth that is..." Ma' - "What was it you were looking for?" Hannibal - "More M.A.N.T.I.S. personnel I'm afraid. Been finding remnants of their patrols all over the lower levels. Dora says this one is particularly interesting." Ma' - "Oh, yes, our little octopus friends... George was able to figure out how to communicate with them through colors! He can really only understand their general emotions about a subject, but they were quite tickled by their little stunt with the fella down below." Hannibal - "Hm, well if it's all the same to y'all, I'd like to move y'all's pod a bit further away to be safe; wouldn't want any kiddos catching something from that corpse. Also, don't report in about your new friends just yet. The company's latest "retrievals" of xenological specimens have not been very peaceful... Hi folks! Booklovingbuilder here, and I am trying to build a lego spaceship(or perhaps mecha) out of a bunch of disparate Insectoids and UFO parts, the problem is... I simply lack building skill. I honestly don't know where to begin on a ship, what to start with, or even really what pieces are most useful. I'm trying for a somewhat simple fighter, with a moveable cockpit, wings, cannons, and an engine. I've seen tons of great ships here and elsewhere, I just have no idea how to actually BUILD something without instructions anymore. Anyone wanna help? Ideas, sample ships, literally anything would be beneficial. If there are certain sets that have been used a lot in MOCs, I'd gladly buy them. Thank you!

Instead, I’ve been officially promoted, and given a flight to command! How cool is that? I’m pretty sure that Commander Turtle got the screaming heebie jeebies at the news, so I’ll just have to make sure that I do an awesome job. How hard can it be? Of course, I’ll have to whip my new rookie crew into shape first… Blackhawk: Let’s see. Ensign Harrison, Shane. Greenhawk: Yes, sir! Blackhawk: Your call sign will be Greenhawk. Greenhawk: GREENhawk, sir? That sounds like a name for a MANTIS Bug! Blackhawk: Yeah, ‘cause it’ll mean you can be squashed like a bug if you get out of line. Greenhawk: Umm… yessir. Blackhawk: Keller, Ryan. Your call sign is now Grayhawk. Grayhawk: Understood, sir. Blackhawk: And Nelson, Ariel. Umm, where’s Ensign Nelson? Grayhawk: Unexpected delays or some such, sir. She’ll be arriving late. Blackhawk: What?? I’m leading a partial flight? Darn it… Blackhawk: Oh, well. Listen up! You’re now a part of Raptor Flight! We’re going on a training mission to get you guys up to speed. We’ll be flying recon patrol around Lorstan II. We expect no opposition, so it should be a cake walk. We’ve been assigned some Thunderbolt interceptors, just to make sure there isn’t any problem. Let’s get prepped, fellas! Now this is more like it! Last week I slipped back into old habits a bit. This week, however, is a distinct improvement, I think. I really couldn't be happier with this build, and in fact I think it's my favorite one so far. I will be so not happy to dismantle it... The work took nine place at Competition "Battle of the Masters "In cube"" on the Bricker.info in the year 2015. Contest was to made anything no more than 10х10х10 pins. Text is taken from the Contest Work: What do you think when somebody says "Spaceship" ? First you think about X-Wing and The Enterprise. What will happen if we will interbreed them? Let's see! Stand view. Front view. We can see four engines in the edges of wings. ION Cannons are on the sides. They are too complex, that they are not repaired, but changed entirely. Main Engines. All is super-symmetrical. Model fits 10х10 plate, like in conditions of Contest. No more 10 pins in length also. Let's remove stand. By the way, Do you want to see "How it works"? A support extends from its niche. It stands up the working position. And whoa! The model is stable. Let us turn to the alternative mode. It gives more speed but is less maneuverable. The wings take a rounded shape. Only ion cannons appear on the edges of the shell. It is almost a complete circle! And back is quite a beauty. The model has become less and better fit on the stand. And even "tipped over". And the picture at the top for last. Thank you for your attention! Your, Pikachu.

Mech Armor Unit for hours with no trace of any Biomass. The power source Dan created seems to be holding up. Vvvvvvmmmmmm............. What was that? Activating Battle Arms! It seems to be some sort of UFO, piloted by a space slug! It seems to be attracted to the slug shaped lower armor on my suit. No signs of any hostility. I'll have Big Sal analyze its methods of communication so we can come to some sort of agreement. It hasn't attacked me yet, so I'll take that as a sign of peace! End Log

Now that JS Smith was back home on Farmolis, his "Honey Do List" seemed to be piling up, one that had got him excited was to engineer a small long range recon craft for scouting out missions in places that were Octan really isn't supposed to be. What are you going on about, Eshey? You never make any sense. Sir, I know this assignment was a psychological test for marketing, which was confidential. But now that we are here, could you let us in on it? Well, as the major corporations here in Andromeda start conflict with each other over planets to dominate, our marketing department wanted to develop a vehicle that would take a form so terrifying that fear itself would be our ally. The idea is that the use of such a vehicle would discourage the other corporations from interfering with our assignments. Eshey and I had our brains scanned so they could find images of the thing that terrified us the most during our exploration assignments. I see. I'm still not sure how I feel about this. You always worry too much, Eshey. Now, let's bring her about and return to the ship. And let's bring the alien back. I'm sure Dr. Long would want to take a look. Aye, sir. No, no, no, Hombre. Location: Mynderis Tags: Kawashita, Mynderis, Spaceship, Military The good news: I’m officially an ace! I shot down two escort fighters on that intercept mission over Terrial Minor, which brings my total to six! Woo hoo! In the action against the bug-eyed aliens, I managed to do some real damage. The ion disruptors on the Gremlin weren’t as effective as I was promised, but they did have some effect, and we sent them back with bloody noses (or whatever they breath through, if they even breathe at all…). And so, Operative Q told me that I’ve been transferred to First Division, and that there’s a promotion in the works! Hard to imagine that things can get any better! Unfortunately, at that point, they can get a whole lot worse… The bad news: Aera Lure is MIA. I’ve been told that she was last heard of flying a recon mission over Mynderis and failed to report back. A faint, garbled Kawashita distress signal was detected not long ago. Maybe she’s still alive… Aera and I have known each other since we were kids (though she would say I still am). She’s the reason I’m a part of Kawashita. So if she needs my help, there’s nothing that can stop me from doing everything I can to come through. Even if it means disobeying orders… Fortunately for me, it hasn’t come to that. Mister S found out what I was about to do, and he managed to get me orders to go find her. He even got me a ship! It’s the Samurai, a design Kawashita got from a tech exchange with the NAIS (New Avalon Institute of Science). And he wished me luck as well. Thanks. I’m going to need it. Hang on, Aera! I’m coming! This is what I consider a trial and error build, because it was a trial and most of it seemed to be an error! Getting the twin nose booms to attach with minimal gaps proved challenging. However, after a bit of frustration, it all started to come together... While I'm pleased with the nose, it seems like this build is a bit of a step backward in terms of design style. Still wish I could have done better with the wings and upper engine pod. But I think the overall shape came out well. In terms of story, I like to have a bit of humor, but Blackhawk does have a serious side to him, and it felt like a good time to show that. But don't worry! Our walking accident will be himself soon! Hello there, here is my latest moc, a more than 100 studs long spaceship, the cayman class battlecruiser. Cayman class name is due to his shape, looking like a cyaman's head. Location: H08 - Sinden's Run Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle, Spaceship, AG, Octan ++Pombe, personal log, start recording++ Eshey had just returned from a successful exploration assignment on Sinden's Run where she managed to capture live aliens during a search for awesomnium (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=112223) and I had recovered from the debriefing assignment I had with a Kawashita sales and marketing team (http://www.eurobrick...howtopic=111704) when Jebediah and Wick had requested our presence for an important meeting. Two emergency situations had occurred, and Eshey and I had been assigned specific duties to deal with them. The first was that an unknown fleet of spaceships has been detected in the center of the galaxy on a heading towards Farmolis, Octan's corporate headquarters in Andromeda. To address this, Octan has promoted me to supervisor in order to lead a small team and has hired Eshey as a permanent employee under my supervision. Additionally, three new head counts have been requisitioned and I am to fill them immediately, completing my team of four. Because of the nature of the emergency, I was allowed to relax corporate rules for new hires, such as the dress code rule. They were to undergo new employee orientation and our vetting process as soon as possible, while our engineers designed new ships for my team to deal with this unknown fleet. The second emergency situation was that we had lost contact with an experimental Octan spaceship, the O.C.S. Penetrator, while it was on a test flight in Sinden's Run. It was designed for very deep exploration. It was found adrift among asteroids by one of our probes and was not responding to hails. It was operating with a skeleton crew of four, and Eshey and I were to board the vessel and rescue any employees that were alive as well as determine what happened to the ship. As per Octan corporate protocol, any ship found derelict could be assigned a codename. Given how grim and dark the assignment was, I gave the derelict Penetrator the codename The Hundred Thousand Heretical Blasphemies of Final and Eternal Damnation After You Visit Purgatory. Big Z had been tasked to prepare our gear for this assignment. While he was busy doing that, I was to interview the candidates that HR had sent. As it turned out, they had sent three candidates, which was perfect, since I had three openings to fill. Eshey, due to becoming a permanent hire, had to go and take the new employee orientation and visit the veterinarian again, and was unable to help me with the interview process. The first candidate simply had "Hombre" and nothing else written on his application. He was a man of few clothes and no words. I immediately took a liking to him and offered him the position, despite his violations of the Octan dress code. The next candidate was a young woman named Sue Damoness. She was an expert pilot and a decorated combat veteran of Galaxy Squad's Red Team. We would need her piloting skills on my team and I felt that her combat experience would help me deal with Eshey's psychosis and fear of aliens. She was offered the position, as well. Unfortunately for her but fortunate for me, she had been unable to find a position as a Mitgardian adventurer, and had reapplied to Octan for this position. I told her that despite the dress code violation, she would be offered the position this time. Because I empathized with her struggle for employment, and as a show of solidarity, I decided to also wear the traditional garments of Mitgardia, where she claimed she was from. My team was complete. They were all hired and sent to new employee orientation and to the veterinarian. Once the Axle is in range, we will teleport you over. There appear to be two groups of lifeforms according to our scans: one group in a corridor and the other on the bridge. From what we can tell, the Octan survivors are trapped in the corridor while the ones on the bridge are unlike any lifeform we have yet encountered. I take it Eshey and I will teleport into the corridor to ascertain the condition of our coworkers and then work our way to the bridge? That's right. Oh, we're in teleport range now. Initiating teleport sequence. Wait! Isn't this dangerous?!?!?! [bright lights surround Eshey and Pombe and they vanish with a loud popping sound] Hello! Don't worry, we are here to rescue you. Are any of you hurt? By the way, I like the way you dress. W-we all ap-appear to be fine. We had j-just investigated an n-nearby asteroid. Each of us br-brought b-back an egg. The n-next thing we kn-new, we wo-woke up tr-trapped here wi-without our p-pants. How awful! How absolutely abominable! I won't let these "jeans stealers" steal Octan garments and get away with it! I don't get angry often, but this act is truly despicable! Sir, there were only four Octan employees, right? Why are there extra minifigure skulls lying around? Because this is a grim, dark situation, Eshey. What? Nevermind that! Sir! The proximity sensor shows the aliens heading our way! They must have detected us when we teleported over! Quickly, take your team and take shelter over there! Eshey and I will handle these vile "jeans stealers". Th-thank you! Here they come! They're opening the bulkhead. Look, sir! They're wearing Octan regulation pants! Eshey. Yes, sir? Terminate them. Yes, sir! But be sure to not damage the pants. WE BRING DEATH!!! SUFFER NOT THE ALIEN TO LIVE!!! FOR THE PRESIDENT!!! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! Sir! The sensors aren't reporting any more alien life signs aboard the ship. Pombe to Axle. Reporting successful rescue of Octan employees. Rootin’, tootin’, ready for shootin’! Mr. S: Yeah, well, the last time you shot something, you took out one of our planes! Blackhawk: What was that pilot’s name again? Oh, well, he isn’t pressing charges, so who cares? Mr. S: Hmm… Let’s see. I do, for one. And so does the board. We lose enough equipment due to MANTIS activity. We don’t need to lose more because of an over-eager pilot! Even Aera couldn’t defend your actions. She was sitting quietly in the corner pretending not to know you! Blackhawk: Am I being (gulp!) grounded? Mr. S: No, we can’t afford to do that. You’re a hell of a pilot. You handle anything that flies like no one I’ve ever seen. It’s just that you’re overly… enthusiastic. You need to rein that in a bit. Blackhawk: Umm… Yes, sir. What do you want me to do? Mr. S: We have intel that MANTIS is sending a supply convoy to Terrial Minor. We want to intercept them with a Kestrel in orbit before they make planetfall. Blackhawk: Yes, sir! On my way! I've felt like I needed to up my game a bit, and I think I came up with some possibilities. This is the first attempt in my build style change. I think it's going in a good direction. Sector: A04 Tags: Military, Vehicle, Spaceship, Land Vehicle Begin Log: I travel over the surface of Mynderis in the new M.A.N.T.I.S. Fly Class Flyer, searching for the "special package" I'm supposed to pick up. I've found it! Switching from Fly mode to Raven mode for landing. Secured the M.A.N.T.I.S. Tank. I'll drill around the perimeter until a driver reports in. Some back and front detailing. I've found a quiet lava spring to drill into. Group shot: End Log This was my first attempt at more detailed vehicles and landscapes. I'm very happy with how the tank's cockpit function turned out, how much detail I packed in, and how complicated a build it was. It's hard to see them, but I've even added a few car fenders/bumpers to the tank. Comments welcome!

Location - Jurin II - E02 Tags - Building, Vehicle, Spaceship, Land Vehicle, Exploration After dropping a ship off on F02, Hannibal volunteers to run a delivery to E02. This beautiful planet has become extremely important to Octan and trade throughout the system. While Octan has maintained a strong presence on the planet, it has come to house a contingent of M.A.N.T.I.S. and many traders looking to capitalize on the border region. In fact, it is looking to become the nexus of the entire galaxy, being the linking point between Kawshita, M.A.N.T.I.S., and Octan (or at least the most hospitable one). [O - E02] LP - 4 2 by Ryan McBryde, on Flickr Such a planet is a thing of beauty, where everything interconnects, civilizations may rise, and commerce can enlighten all. One difficulty in the development of this planet has been the vigorous growth of the local flora. The ocean, woven through the forests of the many islands, was early considered a ideal place for landing ships and cargo, as it is on Earth. However, every attempt at cutting runways or docks led to the forest "taking back" the land. Octan did have much success in the tree tops, building platforms well above ground.
