  1. ...I was checking out what's new at my local Lego Store yesterday and decided to fill a small cup from the Pick-a-Brick wall... an employee saw me and said that yesterday was the last day for the "old" price for both small and large cups... starting today, the price for both cups would have gone up... how much, I didn't ask as I scrambled to fill several more cups... no wonder (first time I saw it), a couple other employees were emptying out some slots for "new" parts... ...can someone confirm this?... if so, is the price increase just for stores in the US or all over?...
  2. Hi! First off, I apologise if this has been asked before or if there is a topic somewhere that I haven't spotted! If so, feel free to close this mods! I just wondered how long people had spent in the LEGO-less (No LOTR similarity intended) world? and also what it was that drew people back to the thing that we all love? Personally I was addicted to LEGO as a kid. I played with it and built new creations up until I was 14/15ish. My parents also bought be "Lego Studios" which got me interested in brickflicking (although that was obviously very primitive and looking back they were awful the ones I made!) At around 15 however, I grew out of LEGO - or certainly forced myself to decide I was too old for it and so I ended up spending the time that I used to play with LEGO on some computer game or other (I lived in a small village so my social life wasn't great until I hit the late teens!) Back in 2009 at 22-23 me and my girlfriend were shopping and went into a toy store for a laugh. Looking at the LEGO I remenised about my old days of playing with it (although might have played down the extent a little!). When we got back to mine I showed her some which I had to hand which we had fun looking through and building with... and I showed her my brickflicks. She thought they were cool and a couple of days later we made one together which was fun. And that could have been an end to it - but then I started searching in the evening for LEGO type things and came across Classic-Pirates.com and ultimately this forum... and then I was hooked again! I found a new stopmotion program and bought a new webcam - and created my first youtube video "Lego Pirates: Rafting, Battling and Commandeering" which received very positive feedback. I then set to work on a brickflick series "Brickington Sails Forth" which again got generally good feedback... and that's been me back into LEGO and Brickflicking ever since! In short, my dark ages were from 2001ish to 2009 so around eight years - how long were yours? Or did you not have any!? P.S. I'm still with my girlfriend and now share a flat with her. The LEGO occupies a large amount of it... much to her annoyance! She's going to do some voices for my latest brickflick later tonight though, so I think I'm converting her!

  4. Hey guys! Some of you may have seen me from the Train Tech forum. I have always been into the technic theme but I never really have bought many sets and I am wondering what is a good start to get into the theme. The last sets I remember buying are the 8454 Rescue Truck set from 2003. I like the bigger sets but i don't know where to start as I haven't bought any sets from when LEGO started including suspension systems. Thanks -RailCo
  5. Just found this gem for sale on eBay! http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEGO-PIRATES-2009-6239-6240-6241-6242-6243-6253-BOXES-and-MANUALS-NR-/221693953340? Huge lot of 2009 Lego Pirates sets. If I'm not mistaken, that's practically the entire collection, minus the Imperial Ship. 7 SETS and 27 minifigures. Wow, I'm curious to see how much this will fetch!
  6. This is my entry to the "Missing Set" category. Everbody wanted a third wave of LotR sets with some Gondor soldiers, so I choose Osgiliath so that we can get Gondor rangers and soldiers. Also having a Faramir minifig seems to be very important for me. The build is inspired by the techniques of the Dol Guldur sets. My aim was to make it look like ruins, while it is still sturdy, playable and matching the real sets. The figures and shields are made with photoshop. Setname: 79021 Battle of Osgiliath Parts: 718 Minfigs: 8 Price: 89,99 $ / 99,99 € The set is now available at Lego Ideas, I would be really happy if you support me, thanks ! Thanks for hosting this great contest, I love everything from Middleearth. And good luck to the other contestants !
  7. Hello all, A question. Is it possible to import bricks from a certain Lego set into LDD? I mean, i have the 5891 house for example and want to make a MOC out of it. I could use the partnumber from Brickset or Bricklink for example, but that is gonna take a while... Is it possible to upload all the bricks at once to LDD? I hope my question is clear enough. ;-) Thanks in advance.
  8. So I found my new phone had a 'negative' mode on the camera, and I was playing around with it and I took photos of my sitting room to see how it looks with reversed colours and I noticed how strange the Lego boxes look in negative mode. Have you got any pictures of sets in 'negative' mode?

  11. The Chosen Minifigure

    Lego Castle 2013-Present Value.

Hey there, this is the chosen Minifigure with a big topic: The value of the lego castle sets. Not PPP value, no. Fun value, moc value, and Minifigure value. Let's hypothetically say that I have NO castle, fantasy, Viking or other medival sets of any kind. I wish to get into the theme, already loving some other themes. I get to the store, with enough money for any of the sets, but I only want to buy one. Which set should I get, with the best Minifigure/fun value? Or, say I'm a moccer. Which set would be best? Lastly, on a personal note, Dragon mountain or Kings castle?

    Best set ever?

Hey everyone, I didn't see a topic for this so... Might as well post one! In your opinion, what is the best LEGO set ever? It can be in terms of cool parts, minifigures, or anything else you can think of! To get the discussion kicked off, I personally like the old Space sets, especially Blacktron (if you can't tell by my user photo id ), but I admit that those were definitely not the best sets ever produced. So what do you think? legozebra
  14. Hi all! I thought that there would be a topic like this but I searched and couldn't find anything so I will start this off. What sealed sets do you have? What do you plan on doing with them? Personally, I have only recently started to keep sets sealed and so far I only have two. 31015 Emerald Express and 5002126 Martian Manhunter. I'm not a big fan of DC so I've kept this set to sell or trade in the near-to-distant future. As for the Emerald Express, I have no clue what I will do with it. I randomly got it last week and I already have 3 so I'll probably sell it or keep it to make my current train even larger.

  16. So what are your thoughts on the upcoming 2014 sets? I'm looking forward to the TMNT sets and I got the Lion Legend beast earlier and it's pretty cool. Also I am doing a 365 days of Lego project on Flickr, inspired by a similar project from a few years back. The first picture will be uploaded tomorrow. Thanks, -Godtshep (Pronounced Go-Shep.) P.S. Those of you from Cuusoo and Brickset will know me as Nightwing20.
  17. Which set took you the longest to build? Mine would probably be Muaka & Kane-Ra from bionicle. It took me a long time and it gave me the worst case of "Technic Hand" I've ever had.

    Best sets for stop motions?

Hello and sorry if this thread exists but i couldn't find anything related by using the search function. Anyway, here goes: For the past two years i'm trying to make some stop motions. I bought a dslr nikon camera, a tripod, the latest photoshop and after effects and all that. I wrote dozens of scripts ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 and even 5,000 words but i could never figure out the scenery. I live in Greece so Lego sets are seriously overpriced so i have to buy them online. I gave my old lego bricks to my cousins so now i have to start again. Now, my question is: Which of the sets thta can be found in lego's website would you consider pffer the best amount of useful bricks that can be used to make the scenery? I have a budget of around 300-400 euro (or 390-520 dollars) with shipping icluded. I will have lego sed the sets to a friend of mine in America and then he will ship them loose to me. Anyway, i'd love to hear your opinions and any help is appreciated!
  20. What sets do you think will show up for Marvel sets of 2014. I am pretty sure we will be seeing some Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: Winter Soldier, and maybe some Guardians of the Galaxy. What do you think lets get this thread strong!
  21. Introduction Welcome to this mini Official Sets made in LDraw contest, to (hopefully) boost the production of sets made in LDraw. :wink:The idea is that you get points for the amount of parts (in the sets) you submit. Even with 1 set (with at least more than 100 parts) you even have a chance of winning, but with more sets, you’re chance becomes bigger. The winners will be randomly choses from all participants, but imagane a large jar full with cards of the participants name: the more pieces, the more cards of your name in the jar. That means everyone has a chance of winning when submitting at least 100 pieces in one or more sets. Rules Only models that are new to the index and the topic are allowed for the contest, so please use this topic to book a set(s), to avoid that someone just uploads a set before you (and your entry results invalid). You can view the booked/submitted sets in the post below. Don't forget to also take a look in the normal index what's submitted in the past! Alternate models from a set will get the partcount from the file that's submitted. I use part counts according to Brickset. Please post your models in the "Official sets made in LDraw topic". The deadline is 24 January 23:00 (or 11 PM) UTC Prizes The winners will be randomly choses from all participants, but imagane a large jar full with cards of the participants name: the more pieces, the more cards of your name in the jar. Of course a contest has a prize, so this one also has a small prize. There are 5 polybags available: 30025, 30019, 30086, 30085 and 7808.The first winner may choose 2 polybags as first, the second winner may choose 2 polybags after him/her and the third winner gets the last one. Good luck everyone! You may use this topic also to dicuss the contest or ask questions.

  23. I saw in the Licensed forum that The Bat vs Bane Chase With Tumbler came with a code for the PC version of the original Lego Batman game. The code I saw was: QWIH4 - M6EQM - J986Y It also said to unlock it at the website LEGO.com/batmangame which wasn't working. What should I do?
