  1. Traditionally seen, 2016 starts in Belgium with Brick Tricks in Tielt. It is a rather small local exposition with a nice atmosphere. 5 years ago, it was the very first event Captain Greenhair participated. And to celebrate it, he came back this year! And he even took the very godfather of fregates, the tutorial and inspiration for most of us! So it turned out we would be both on the exposition, we agreed to make the very first BoBs collab in history!!! Too bad we soon discovered we both are Eslandolan... So Corrington and Oleon might be underrepresented... Anyway, enjoy!!! Btw, the weekend of 12 & 13th November, the biggest exposition of Belgium takes place, in Antwerp. For this year, we are going for a BOBS Pirate lay-out of 100 square meter!!! We really are going for the biggest pirate lay-out ever! So if you want to be part of this, feel free to send me a message :D :D A global picture I also made some promotion, so maybe we'll get some new members in the future :D Some extra pictures Enjoy! (btw, is this a freebuild of both CGH and me or not?)
  2. On his trip to the capitol to see if his cousin Renaldo Cuervo had truely returned, his crew decided to hunker down on a small island as a small tropical storm loomed on the horizon, which they knew they would not be able to outrun. The sun was high when they arrived but would very shortly be covered in heavy dark clouds. IMG_20160215_202238609 by Jesse Mauney, on Flickr -Jim Cuervo "go ahead men and gather any supplies you can find, water, fruit you know the drill make it quick who knows whats lurking in the jungle stay in pairs, one head up as lookout, one to gather, be back at camp by sunset" -Will Pepper "No need to lecture us boss we got it covered, we will be in and out of here before you know it" IMG_20160215_202132639 by Jesse Mauey, on Flickr Little did they know they were being watched as soon as they set foot on the island, the natives had rarely seen foreginers and always decided to lay in the shadows unless a sense of danger was present in which they would not hesitate in retaltion towards any new arrivals. OOC. final shot is just a over view of the MOC IMG_20160215_202104276 by Jesse Mauey, on Flickr
  3. First part of the story ... Captain Ben D'Anvers was relieved when he saw a little settlement. They survived the unknown jungle they had to go through. But once arrived in the hamlet, he saw he took too few soldiers with him. He never imagined he would run into such a big community. Those vikings must breed kids like rabbits!! Somewhere in the middle of the hamlet, the longest (erm...) longhouse stood next to a campfire. It was very nice detailed with even golden accents. Based on the quality of their weaponry and those gold touches, there should be some mines around the hamlet... Very interesting... Luckily for Ben, the Vikings were very friendly and even really gratefull they saw for the first time in ages some people from a world that became a fantasy for them. A man with red horns on his helmet came outside the longhouse and started talking blablabla as Ben didn't understand a word. With hands and feet and a small chicken, they managed to greet eachother. After a few hours of making strange moves and sounds, Captain Ben understood he wouldn't come anyfurther. Time to go back home and return with a translator from Corrington! To be continued? Depends on your votes hahaha :D C&C welcome!
  4. Anwok and Jynil awoke to their baby crying. Jynil nursed her child, then prepared him for their trip to the orchard. Anwok and Jynil thought that their child was the only new part of their morning trip. Jynil wrapped him securely and put him on her back. Then they went to pick apples. Then they saw … them. As they looked down upon the beach, they saw three people, but they wore strange clothes. Off in the distance was a large vessel, unlike anything Anwok and Jynil had seen before. They had heard the stories of strangers visiting the island -- everybody had -- but the stories were so old that nobody on the island still alive had ever seen any. But the strangers on the beach fit the stories well. The vessel was a large as in the stories. Their clothing was an odd mix; Anwok presumed the overdressed one in the middle was the leader. They did not appear threatening. Anwok told Jynil to go back and tell the elders about the visitors. Anwok would go down to the beach and present them with a gift of apples. … *** I wanted to play with forced perspective in this build, and also thought it would be fun to take the point of view of the natives rather than the explorers. The scene also serves as a step back from my build for challenge 1B, which is a close-up of the explorers on the beach. An overhead view of the build:
  5. Captain’s Log of Philip Janszen, commanding the sloop Lady of Madrice, 15 Feb 616, somewhere east of Nellisa: After two weeks at sea, land was spotted. Hendrikson was on duty in the crow’s nest when, just before 8 bells, he sighted a shape on the horizon to the east-southeast. Adjusting our course to intercept, we soon determined that it was not a sail, but rather a small island. I conferred with Anthony Crol, my second in command, and we agreed that we must make landfall. We anchored our sloop and I ordered Crol to remain aboard while I commanded an away party of three to investigate the island. We did not know what to expect, and, although we saw no sign of inhabitants from our vantage point, we armed ourselves in case of hostiles. I also took a small pennant, and when we made landfall, I claimed the island for Eslandola and the MCTC. *** The beach didn't turn out how I had hoped, but I'm fairly happy with the technique I used for the surf. I also dabbled in some forced perspective with the anchored ship in the background. Here's an overhead view of the build:
  6. After being welcomed at the beach, Roger - he pulled the short stick while being low on food - was relieved to see the the natives on the island he landed on seemed peaceful. They even offered him a hot bath to welcome him. He didn't think there could be a different definition of hot bath than the one he already knew about. He had never been so wrong...

    [ESL-FB3] This Ole House

This old house was home and comfort As we fought the storms of life... It is, in fact, one of the finer buildings of Pontelli - and currently there is a little festivity going on. Captain Enrico Sombrero Verde is paying a visit and so is Colonel Brickinson. The building is famous for its roof fountains: The building is well guarded by Eslandolean Elite Guards: As this is my third Free-Build thi smonth, I need to ask for your kind approval. C&C welcome!
  8. This is my third free build of the month, so approvals and critiques are most welcome. Samuel Amwell’s family have been brewers for generations, but Samuel is the first of his family to leave the mainland and move to the islands. In Weelond on the island of An Holli, Samuel has opened the Weelond Brewing Company. The tropical setting is perfect for growing the sugarcane necessary for distilling rum, and the ingredients for his family’s ale are also plentiful. Samuel works diligently to make sure his rum and ale are the best in the islands, and Eslandolan sailors near and far are quickly becoming familiar with WBC beverages.
  9. This build is made in order to sceal the peace treaty between Corrington, Eslandola and the Berelli natives called the Ténotclaxcans. It is a Banana plantation built in Berelli by the Ténotclaxcans, and earned by Felipe de la Manzana in the Corrington Territory of Port Raleigh. The Peace treaty proposition is here : Diplomatic Meeting. Bananas for peace : In the near vicinity of Port Raleigh, Pinya and some Ténotclaxcans men are developping a little banana exploitation. While some men are carying the flowers upon the trees, and some are collecting bananas, Pinya is drying the fruits and cutting the floral edge in order to prevent the bananas from spoiling. In this tropical atmosphere, everything is spoiling so fast ! She had recently made an agreement with those strange men from the west and it was decided to share a Banana plantation, her Banana plantation... So it was her mother decision, Pinya had to agreed, but she asked new men to help from MAESTRO and she had them ! Finally, they were not so stupid sailors... Some of them were really capable of working the land ! Basil, escorted by a guard, arrived with a gift... - Hi Pinya ! Why don't you drop these stone vasks and try our best barrels ? - Barrels ? Asked Pinya ? Those wooden round thing you always use ? - Yes ! I brought one to you. Try it... - Ok, Yes why not... - Hey that's not bad ! Said surprised Pinya. I will use yours barrels then... They are great invention ! Give me more of them ! - Ok ! Answered Basil, I will have to open an artisan barrel maker shop in Elysabethtown... Suddenly, someone arrived, well escorted, from Port Raleigh. - Ah ! Nice to see the Banana plantation is ready to send some fruits ! said Lord Erie Flynn. Our Queen will be satisfied ! She is said in great need of this fruit, well, according to the newspaper, and you know they are sometimes good lyers ! Anyway, continued Lord Flynn, we will take care of the fruits by now, we will transfer them to our trading ship ! Make the peace between our great nations be fruitfull !
  10. Felipe sent a letter to Lord Flynn before his departure to his dreadly trade run : Letter to Lord Erie Flynn, Lord of Port Raleigh, Governor of the Corrington territories of Annetta (a.k.a. Berelli) from El Senor Felipe de la Manzana, citizen of Eslandola, member of MAESTRO, Ambassador for the eslandian affairs in Berelli, and from Lady Zumo de Kapayas, High priestess of the Ténotclaxcans, representant of the chief Azuma. Copy for the archives for Eslandola High Archives and for Her Majesty of Corrington's Archives. Mylord, It appeared you have founded a new settlement you named Port Raleigh along the River Queens in Berelli/Annetta. Our two great Nations are in peace and are even more linked with the help of some trading agreements we signed from both sides. Your position in Berelli is welcome if it is made in peace. The natives of Berelli, the Ténotclaxcans are peaceful people, our Nation is linked to them by the MAESTRO company. Although some Ténotclaxcans attacked Corlanders who were bringing weapons in foraging party, our will, for both Eslandola and the Natives, is to bring you a message of peace. We are asking you to join in a Diplomatic Meeting Lady Zumo de Kapayas and Lord Basil de Eslandola, representant of El Senor Felipe de la Manzana. We hope the Meeting will be the first step in a fruitfull cooperation between Corrington, Eslandola and the Ténotclaxacans. Yours, Lord Felipe de la Manzana. And so, Lord Erie Flynn sent a Corlander official representant at the meeting : - Welcome Mylord, Said Basil and Zumo de Kapayas. - We are here in the village of Zum'heria in order to clarify the situation that is threatening peace in Berelli, or Annetta if you prefer. Continued Basil. - The situation is against MAESTRO's interests, and it's against our Nations interests. We do not want to fight against the natives here since they are peaceful peasants and fishermen. We, MAESTRO, have made an agreement with the Ténotclaxcan tribe, main tribe of the island, that all MAESTRO member and all Eslandian citizen will not bring fire weapons in the territories ruled by the tribe. We are just asking to you, from your side, to do the same : to make that every Corrington citizen will not bring fire weapons in the territories the tribe of the Ténotclaxcans is ruling. Finally, Basil read the text prepared by Felipe : - In order to seal such an agreement, Eslandola Trade Company MAESTRO, by the way of Senor Felipe de la Manzana and the Ténotclaxcans, by the way of Lady Pinya, daughter of Lady Zumo de Kapayas, are offering to Port Raleigh to build a Banana plantation for the Queen who is said pregnant and in great need of this golden fruit. In exchange of what Corrington is agreed to not armed Port Raleigh and to join MAESTRO in a global Privateering force of defense of Berelli/Annetta made of volonteers and made of Native warriors. Made the 7th of February, 616 Hope you like ! I tryed a forced perspective build in order to render the meeting less borring... By this build I am also asking to Ska if : - First : is it OK for you if I build a Banana Plantation for your settlement ? - Secondly :Is it possible to put the Ténotclaxcans officially in the map ? - Third : are you ok to build in partnership with MAESTRO some military/privateer builds ruled by the 2 factions here ? - Finally : is there a way to share between nations the fees of the common builds or the cost of the privateers ? Don't hesitate to PM me if this leading to a problem.
  11. This is the home of Albertus and Jannetje Stoutenburg in Weelond. Their son is a crew member aboard the Lady of Madrice in the service of the MCTC, but Albertus never understood the calling of the sea. Nevertheless, to be closer to his son, the family moved to Weelond on An Holli. But Albertus likes his feet planted firmly on land. He learned the craft of working with leather at an early age, apprenticed with a cobbler, and has been a cordwainer ever since. Albertus and Jannetje maintain this tidy little home on the edge of the commercial district of town, and Albertus uses the prime location to maintain his shop from the comfort of his home. He maintains a commercial storefront from the side of the house. Although Albertus mainly makes shoes and boots, he also works on other leather items such as belts, pouches, baldrics, and various leather fittings. Jannetje makes sure the front flowerbeds are always presentable, but Albertus bricked up one of the windows for wall space needed in his shop. At the corner of a busy crossroads in Weelond, the picturesque house is a local landmark.
  12. About stones, ores and berries Berreli, February 616 Joaquin Seramon Fontonajo had joind Ivo Fortesque on his way to Berreli to find adventure and unknown lands, to find glory and power, to find property and riches. But he had never planned to find her. Since they had met in the jungle, the indigenous girl Poca accompanied Joaquim. Even now, when he was collecting rock samples to take home, she stayed with him. While she they spoke different languages, communication was not much of a problem. He admired her spontaneity, even the volatility of her thoughts at some points. She might have been focused on that flower just seconds ago but wouldn't even waste a single thought about it after she had discovered something different. They were qual in that regard, always looking for new discoveries. But what he had fallen in love with her for was her lightheartedness and her love towards all the little things of life. Just like now, when she had found some of these berries that Joaquin did not know. As always she just started talking in her joyful voice, gesticulating at him and at the berries in her hands, laughing and smiling all along, and even though he did not understand a word of what she said he was under her charm and looked at the best thing that had happened to him his entire life. Two more shots of the scene: Joaquin, collecting rock samples. Poca, collecting some berries. The scene at sunset (I was going for this as my main pic at first, but I guess I would have needed a proper background to make this one look really good) ------------------------------------------------------ I tried some (for me) new approaches/techniques here and am quite confident with how it turned out. Background has been inspired by Kai's Smuggler's Cove. Challenge 1 was fun for me, I improved my building skills and I am quite happy with both my entries. Thanks and good luck to everyone.

    [ESL-FB2] The Mine Is Mine

It's time to play the music It's time to light the lights: In their search for gold, the brave Eslandoleans were able to open and run a copper mine (hooray!) As you might wonder why that coppery stuff is looking greenish: copper ore is likely to look like that. Under control of "Copper Harley" (left) Elandoleananan mining experts are busily exploiting the site. C&C welcome!

    [ESL-FB1] Little Shop of Fish

I will continue with my presentation of spectacular Eslandolean buildings in Pontelli: Little Shop of Fish Although this is such a huge MOC you will find no additional pics on flickr...
  15. This is my attempt at building the end of the Appleseed, LAS during the January MRCA. I don't know how the rule is for this kind of build. Is it also a Freebuild ? And do I have to fill a WebForm ? The end of the Appleseed : Captain Log entry, Day 29 : This was a lovely day at Terreli when we began to load new young appletrees and some good iron weapons from our Capital in order to help to develop the colonies in Nellisa and Berelli. The loading was very effective and we were ready before our escort, the Queen of Terreli, arrived at the bay. Day 30 : The start of our run has been delayed because some of the vessels supposed to join us during the run were not registered ! Ah ! Bl...y administration ! Day 31 : We are well escorted ! The Queen of Terreli fought dangerous smugglers this morning. For what I saw with my spyglass it was a hard fight ! Hopefully the eslandolan warship is not too badly injured. In the afternoon, Juan de Hespérida asked me to make a little detour from our escorted run because he is saying we are near a possible position of the Island of the No-one Orchard, where we could find the Golden Apple ! Since I don't really understand the thing why an island have différent positions or how an island could be here and there I agreed to search a bit around the area Juan had indicated. This is possibly the last line I will write in ths book ! We have been hit by below along the starboard lowdeck ! There is an enormous leak ! I don't know if we can reach the coast... I was sure it wasn't a reef ! There are no reefs around ! Some of the crewmen thought have seen an enormous shadow passed underneath the keel ! ... And so the Appleseed went to the depth of the Ocean ! No one heard about the crew or the captain until now ! Felipe de la Manzana was found harrassed but alive in the coastal beaches of Terreli ! Felipe explained that all the crew is lost, and of course all the cargo ! He managed to survive the shark attacks by throwing them apples just before being eaten ! He said that one shark was nearly to choke after eating an apple ! This is what saved him ! Felipe conclued with this sentence full of wisdom : - This would never happened in an appletree orchard ! And finally here lies the Appleseed : Hope you liked it ! I have to make some precisions : - First : no ships were harmed during this scene. In fact the Appleseed is still built, I just made the rigging better ! - Secondly : this ship did not deserve to sunk ! I am saying that because when I built this MOC, the ship did really escaped my hands and fell but did not broke ! I made it pretty much sturdy ! - Third and last : I will not license her anymore and nobody will be able to ! This is my personal rule when I entered in BoBS : I will not license any Lost At See ship I will loose ! (it's stimulating me to build better vessels !) Thank you for reading.
  16. This build is located in Weelond. "Get me down from here!" Sinbad roared. "I tell you it ain't my fault, it's the fault of that no-good accountant! I always pay all my bills!" "Yep, that sounds like what my brother used to say when they slung him up by his toes across a line between palm trees!" "But it's true! Get me down!" "If you want down, you'll have to get it yourself!" "Then I will!" Sinbad back-flipped off the rope and landed on top of the nearest sailor, sending him flying into the water. Quick as thought, he turned and grabbed the sword from the other sailor. "Arrr!" he shouted, "No one hangs Sinbad the Sea Rat!" The sailors turned and ran, but Guy's Uncle stood firm. "Some Eslandians you are! Get back here and wallop him!" the tough old man bellowed, fending off Sinbad's attack with his heavy cane. The sailors turned and hesitantly came forward. "Discretion is the better part of valor," Sinbad muttered, and ran off in the other direction. Guy's Uncle stayed back, shaking his stick and roundly abusing everyone within earshot. --- Looks like BlackdeathGr was right. Stern old Uncle was up to no good! But he has one more to hang... and this one might be a little harder to get a hold of! As you see, when I said that if you went in the red you would be hung by your toes from a palm tree... I wasn't kidding. Tried out some white sand for the first time. C&C welcome! Thanks for looking!
  17. Got 4 dark red profile bricks and just had to put them to some good use! This, by the way, is Guy's Uncle. Not quite sure what exactly he is doing in Weelond, but... here he is! I decided to do an SK style slide-out interior - pretty fun and remarkably easy! I'm on a roll! This pirate era stuff is fun! C&C welcome! This is my third free-build this month.
  18. The house of Colonel William Oswald Brickinson, in the middle of Pontelli, was his castle and his keep. In the evening sun you can also see Lady Amy Clara Brickinson. They got married about a year ago. (The house looks actually much nicer in reality ... doesn't quite come across in the pictures.)
  19. Right outside of Nova Terreli you can find the mansion of the Fontonajo family (leader of the family is Román Fontonajo). Attached to their mansion are their cotton plantations as well as their private gardens. After this year's annual family dinner the Fontonajo's spread into smaller groups and enjoy some of the luxury which life in the new world has already gifted them. For Isabella Elisa, Román Fontonajo's 16 year old daughter, and her grand-uncle Raphael, a mere 55 years older, it was clear from the beginning where to go: The table next to the small pond, their favourite spot in all Nova Terreli, except maybe the library. Isabelle shared her grand-uncles love for scholarships, most of all for cartography. Drawing the world, retaining for generations what the brave explorers have found, is their greatest passion. "Umh Isa, those are some nice details on the forest... mjm... yes, really well.", said Raphael, while eating his cupcake. After some silence, Isabella took the word and asked her grand-uncle something she had had in mind for quite a while: "Uncle, do you agree that scientists are the better people than us scholars, writers and drawers?" Raphael took a while to order his thoughts, as he always did, before wording his well-phrased answer: "My dear, I disagree. It's scientists, or even explorers like your brother, who strive for new perception and awareness. But how does cognition become knowledge? Right, my dear, the only way is to write it down, to solidify it, to spread the word, to maintain it for our ancestors. If it wasn't for us, scientists would have to reinvent themselves every generation, and mankind could not progress. So, if you really want to determine who is more valuable to the world, the answer should be clear." Isabella thought for a while until she answered: "Neither would contribute to the greater good without the other." - "Ah, you're still a clever girl... Mjm, you should really get one of... umh mjm... those cupcakes, they are delicious." Marja Henrietta, Románs sister, smirked at those words as she maundered by. Little did those two sweethearts know of the world. But she enjoyed the time with her family, the time away from King and court, away from duty, away from politics, intrigue, strategy and pressure. She looked at the flowers, took a sip of whine and walked on. This was the beauty of life, for sure, but her passion was with her job for the king. And so she thought again of her latest mission, that weird encounter she had... "What a silly slogan that Manzana salesman had... 'An apple a day keeps the doctor away'", Román laughed. "Yet still it worked", his mother Marietta replied, grinning. "Naw, we needed those anyway. But something else... what do you think of Joaquin's plan to sail to Berreli? He is only 20, after all, and I don't know if he is quite ready yet". Marietta thought for a while, then looked at her son: "I remember a 23-year-old, who took matters in his own hand right after his father had died, left all and everything behind and led his family to the new world. Were you ready for it? I guess not. But look where your courage and dedication has gotten us, my son." Román seemed unusually insecure as he replied: "I know, and I have always sworn myself to encourage my kids to pursue whatever they dream of, yet still... he is my son, after all....... Yes, I am afraid, mom, I am." - "You have already answered your own question, right? We both know you will let him sail. Just have faith that he will return home well, that is all the advice I can give." - "Thanks mom. I love you, you know that?" - "A mother cannot hear those words often enough." "Victor Servadac from the White Glove order has written. They accept our suggestion for the cotton pricing", Juan Alfonso Fontonajo told his mother. "That is good", Clarissa Raltessa Fontonajo replied, "this must be quite a machine they have constructed". - "Oh indeed", Juan replied. "However", he added, "I am with Raphael on that one. It's better to let others try and error and then take the final result and use it for your needs." Clarissa laughed: "Oh I am quite certain that's not how your grand-uncle meant it, but you're right nonetheless". They wandered the gardens for a while, arms linked, and enjoyed the beauty of their home. After some silent minutes Juan took the word again: "I have plans, mother." He made a pause, giving her the chance to reply: "I know you do. You always do. That's what makes you special after all, makes you stand out. Your father is a man of action, of change, of quick decisions, of daring and of progress but also risk, of empathy, but also weakness. Your grandfather was a ruler, he was never weak, upholding the ideals and values, always prevailing, a leader to look up to, but sometimes even stubborn, and his eyes closed towards the future. You combine the better of both of them. You are to shape the new world." She proudly looked at him, while a shiver of joy ran down Juan's spine. He thought quite highly of himself, knew he had potential, knew he was great at many things, but those words came rather unexpected, even for him. "And now tell me about your plans", his mother said. Román knew his youngest son Alejandro Baltone would still take quite a few years to find his own identity in life. Right now all he did was look up to his older cousin Franjo, who had nothing else in mind but becoming the same brave salesman, soldier or even hero as which idolized his father Rialto and especially his elder brother Heliodoro. Sure, Románs brother Rialto was a man of adventure, of the sea, and so was his wife and were his children. Franjo was no ex- ception. But Alejandro... Román doubted he would become a fighter. Maybe a captain, maybe even an admiral of a fleet, but surely not an armed soldier. For now, however, Román was fine with his son Alejandro enjoying his youth and trying desperately (yet forlorn) to stand his ground in "battle" against his cousin Franjo. It was quite late, already. The other family members had already gone to bed. Not so the men of adventure. Románs brother Rialto Espada and his wife Anna enjoyed the company of their son Heliodoro and their nephew Joaquin Seramon (Románs second son). Whine and cherries, what a delicious combination after a big meal. They had been talking and discussing for hours and there indeed much to talk about. Heliodoro had just joined a private army, while Joaquin was about to set sail to new islands alongside Ivo Fortesque. Anna had just led a trip to the still partially undiscovered jungles in the middle of Nellisa. Rialto, however, remained rather silent. Román had ordered him not to talk about the plans the two had discussed together with Románs son Juan Alfonso. But maybe he would soon be able to set sail again himself, being captain of... but that was for the future to show. It was about time to follow Joaquins example and refill his goblet once more. For better comprehension of the texts a small chart about the Fontonajo family members: I know presentation and photography are not super awesome for all of the builds, but I'm afraid I can't change that too much anymore. When I build the family dinner I started building some small builds to present the family members, however those quickly turned out to be more than just some small "sideresult", so I decided to take my time on presenting them. However pictures were already made and all but the first build have been partially disassembled already. Anyways, I hope you like the builds and the additional insight it provides into the members of the Fontonajo family in Nova Terreli.
  20. The Aurei Lacerta The personal ship of Revon de Crocodil, which he sails on trading missions for the Merchant's Colonial Trading Company. Today he sails for the world with a cargo of Rum and nails. His first mate Vasco keeps an eye out for sea rats from the bow. My first ship, which was a challenge. C&C welcome! LDD doesn't have sails. Should've used Mecabricks for this one.
  21. This is my Third Freebuild this month, so if you like it, don't forget to approve it, thank you ! According to the King, MAESTRO will be given a Charter ! So, Felipe de la Manzana prepared his ship in order to prepare the Push to Exploration the Crown requires. But He didn't know where to begin... In order to do so, he re-armed the family's sloop, The "Appleseed" and went through the sea, trying a way indicated by the strange map Juan Ponce de Hespérida showed him before ! The Appleseed is a Well Rounded Sloop capable of any duty. She is able to defend herself with 4 Lowdeck cannons of 20, 1 cannon of 20 on top of the Aftcastle, and 2 little cannons of 10 in the Forewardcastle. She is also capable of some cargo, with a Lowdeck Cargo zone. Of course the main products here are the famous weapons of Stedor, and some Apples and the Cider of Felipe ! Suddenly, The sentinel in the Crownest yelled : - There is some floating woods there, Captain ! Felipe put a canoe on sea and went out to see this strange drifting wood with one crewmember. He jumped onto the drifting wood and opened the chest. It seemed to be some tribal stuff with an awful little statue of probably a "terrible god" and a note with it... Looking further the note, Felipe read that there is the proof here that there are inhabitants and other cultures in the outer islands more through the East ! - Great news ! I will keep this stuff for my own collection and bring the news to the King and to my fellows partners of MAESTRO ! Thought Felipe. Said that, Felipe de la Manzana turned back to East for great adventures and for the King, the Gold, and for Apples ! ... Thank you for reading. This is my first ship ever... I had to rebuild most of the Foreward and some part of the Aft in order to make a correct sailing and to put correctly the masts ! I really wanted it to look like a nice little sloop. I made some custom sails, hope you like it. I'm not a good painter, so the apple of the front sail is a bit strange, sorry for that. She is entirely playable : - The Foreward castle is removeable in order to access to a moving cabestan that is holding the anchor. - The Deck is openable in order to move the Guns and put a crewman to operate them. - The Captain Cabin has an access through the window that is openable. - All the cabin is removeable in order to access to the Cargo zone. To see more pictures : My Flickr account Any advice or commentary is welcome. I tryed a new set up for photos, don't hesitate to comment on it. ! Don't forget to approve the MOC if you like it, thank you ! As this is my first ship in BoBS, I would like to claim the free licence for it as a Well Rouded Class 2 ship. And I also would like to license it as a trading ship for MAESTRO. If I read it well, to do so, I need also approvals from the players (and leaders) of Eslandola, or am I wrong ?
  22. Hi everybody! This is Ulrich von Koehlers ship, The Pelican. The Pelican is a class 2 Trade ship, it's a cog. More story will come later! 23. The Eslandolan coastal cutter "Pato Moreno" is used to transport agricultural produce from the plantations to the colonial capital Nova Terreli where they are put on larger ocean going vessels. She is an excellent craft for the shallow shores around Nelissa and often enough used to travel the rivers inland. On this run she's loaded with cotton .. builder's note: sorry for the poor quality pics, I will get better ones once I have natural light again tomorrow ...
  24. "The weft and weave of fate guides the life and action of all sides, and through the tides of time they paint the hands of sinners and of saints." - The Kindred (Probably, I found this poem on twitter) This is my 3rd freebuild, so if you are not Eslandian, feel free to approve if you like what you see. Victor wobbled his way in a hurry, after getting words that the first test shipment had arrived. He had worked hard and long to put everything together, and finally it was time to see the result of his effort. The building was half constructed when the WGO got their gloved hands on it. How it went about he had no clue, but it was a good thing they got it because it was the only building in Bardo that fitted his needs. The window of opportunity was wide open. Long and with lots of windows, it was perfect for taking advantage of Bardos long exposure to the sun. A couple of traders where delivering a crate of the shipment as he arrived the pearly gates. He heard a lot of hustling and bustling from inside. "This is the finest fabric I've ever touched. Servadac will surely be pleased with this test run. The exquisite quality of the Fontanajo cotton makes all the difference in the world", a worker was saying as Victor entered the factory entrance. "Ah, yes it fits, it runs, it Works!!", Victor exclaimed when he saw the machine in action. The attic had room for storing raw cotton, and the finished product was going straight to the docks. The WGO had aquired the prototype of a device named "Spinning Penny" from a Corrington engineer. The setup enables the work of at least 10 spinners to be carried out by a few. There is a slight risk of injuries, but the machine does not require much skills, and workers are easily replacable. As long as there is doubloons to be made, they will come in masses begging to be a part making Fontanajo quality fabric. My photographic ligh conditions opportunity was very brief. Especially the outside shots was a bit dark. I adjusted the brightness of the interior shot to see anything, so the colors are a bit off. Smog have covered my area for weeks, but today I got 15-20 minutes. I had to photograph a residence, my vessel and the factory, so it was hectic. I am very satisfied with this build, but I have not used much advanced techniques, except for the Spinning Jenny (or Penny as I called her). Comments and constructive critique is most welcome :) Edit: And of course I have to give a big thank you to the Cotton King, Román Esteban Fontonajo (Elostirion), for letting the WGO process and make his familys cotton available to the general public.
  25. An East Trade Wind Company messenger riding through an ETWC plantation planted with ETWC monopoly crops in an ETWC town with a important dispatch from the ETWC president for the ETWC mayor. Could anyone imagine a more beautiful sight? Oh, and don't you dare go and mention anything about that MCTC! An oat plantation for Pontelli and the ETWC! This was actually a lot of fun to build and even to photograph, I'm not quite sure how much it looks like oats, but as far as I can tell oat plantations just look exactly the same as wheat, so here it is! Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome! Oh, and if you're an Eslandolan and haven't yet, go and join the ETWC! (We really need one of those faces in green and dark green now! )
