Hi, The following pictures are a write up on flickr about how Cars/Motorbikes were designed fitting in the "classic Town" concept from 1978 over the years since the introduction of the minifig. Now while some say "car moccing" and "classic Town" are two different things, actually, i have good reason to believe they are one and the same. Cars will always influence the scale, detail and vibe of a town. Since they are the "tough nut" to crack building wise in any layout given the limited space, i worked on these ideas for over 4 years with several attempts (going from 8 wide to 4 wide even) of getting it to fit well with each other. Along the way i discovered several new techniques i want to present here swiftly, which might be inspirational despite whatever approach is made or desired. Among the many ideas written in my "To do list" this time the project of a town in Bavaria prevailed, a well-known geographical area of Germany that I visited only during my photographic journey in the Black Forest several years ago. The inspiration base is the famous city of Rothenburg; as always I wanted to take inspiration but then re-inventing in my own way. This moc has required me a job of precision above all for the part of the road base. I wanted to create a pedestrian street with curves, inclinations and slopes. I built 6 buildings in all: two houses, a bakery, a toy store, a bar / brewery with the little square, the clock tower. For the bakery and the bar / brewery I also decided to make the furnishings that can be seen well because I left the usual sectioned walls to observe the interior of the houses. Speaking of numbers, the town has required me 6 months of work, based on 6 bases of 32 and is composed of about 13,700 pieces (of which 990 tiles are 1x2 LBG). There are also 35 minifigs and, as usual in every my moc, some quite rare pieces. It will be presented for the first time in two days in Lecco 2019 (Italy). [MOC] London Double Decker Bus Dennis Enviro 400 (Updated 9/25/19, Modified the outlook)

The red double decker bus is one of the iconic London symbol. My model is base on Enviro 400 bus in a minifigure scale. It is 8 stud wide The top and the second level can be easily detached for more playability. The front, rear, and the engine compartment door can be opened. I also designed the London phone booth and the bus stop in this Lego set. This bus does not only fit in London, it can also fit in every kids' Lego city. Hello Fellow Lego Fans. Recently I designed a unique MOC, a classic Lego Street Sweeper that has modern features, but still give homage to the classic Lego Street Sweeper Sets including the 6645, 6649 and 7242. I researched each set, and noticed that their availability was becoming lower. So, I thought it might not be a bad idea to do an updated Street Sweeper version for Town and City builders as a possible release. Having to consider modern design aspects, I did try to "build-into" the MOC an easy conversion of the model for those wanting a more "true" town look. Likewise, in a Vintage City Theme, some design elements might not be correct for the time period. So, this design affords the ability of each interested parties to have the ability to "remove" far more than they might need to "add" to the design to make it fit their layouts. I would not consider this idea a "universal" approach as much as an "adaptable" approach. Following all of these considerations, features, and potential applications of the MOC as a kit, I also had to find a unique design that was believable, kept the parts count under control, and served as a believable "next generation" version to Set 7242. A new feature in this MOC is the use of the Lego 2441 vehicle base, which saved parts, fits modern design efforts and shows that with creativity large scale designs can be implemented on the 2441 chassis. It was an interesting challenge to try and incorporate all of these aspects into the design and still make it visually appealing. Hello everybody! So, I want to elevate my city, using just LEGO (no table or wood or anything like that). It would allow for an underground Metro System. I need it to support heavy buildings, like Towers consisting of 10K+ parts. Any tips, videos, or pictures on how to accomplish this (it needs to be structurally sound). Thanks!

The hood can be opened forwardly as same as the real one does. Four doors can be opened! Also the trunk can be opened. The car can fit 4 minifigures!!!!!! ANDY'S: BEST BURGER IN TOWNCome and taste the best burger in town: 100% high quality beef in a cool stand? I must admit I'm a big fan of hamburgers, especially if served in a beautiful restaurant marked by a modernist architecture. My latest creation joins my passion for the most famous sandwich in the world and the vintage architecture. Andy's stand boasts a retro modernist design, with an elegant V-shaped roof, bustling terrace and googie style signage. A large burger stands out on the roof and makes sure you don’t pass this one by. The terrace has two nice tables where customers can enjoy hamburgers and other delicacies under the umbrellas. Flower pots, electricity poles, garbage bins and other details complete the scene. Inside the stand you can find everything you need to make great hamburgers of all kinds, fries and coffee. Dear all, In last years I focused on bigger project related to not residential modular: firstly the Peace and War Square and later the Seaside Harbour Project. Lastly even a train control station.... Now I'm back to the basics and I'm proud to introduce my last modular MOC, the Bubble Building. It'a a standalone "classic" modular building. Some details still need to be fixed. In the meantime.... The MOC comprises three minor buildings: a pharmacy on the right, a choco shop on the left and a little tower in the middle. Through the gallery below the light blue tower you can access to the shops and to the upper levels. Each building is linked with the other. From the left side it resembles a corner modular, but that's not the case. It's the great balcony above the pharmacy to give this impression due to the perspective. Here follow the shots per single layer/module. Obviously the more chocolate you eat the more you need some medicine from the pharmacy.... Hi everyone, Thanks to a lot of reorganizing of our place this past week, I gained a huge area for my Lego layout. I am absolutely stoked to finally have more space than I know what I can do with, it seems for the past 2 years collecting Lego I mostly have just run out of space continuously. This is the space I have available now. My boyfriend is building an HO model train on the top and I have the shelf below for my Lego: Here is my current sketch of the layout. The short side is roughly 13', the longest leg is over 22', the 2 shorter legs are both 18', so lots of space to work with. The middle leg is wider than the outer ones (this sketch is not accurate in that regard): So far the only thing I have actually decided on is the placement of the fairground - on the middle leg because it is the widest so I can have the ferris wheel face either way. I also have a lot of boats/ships so I want to have the fairground potentially sit on a board walk overlooking the water. Buildings in orange are ones I have (missing the Simpsons kwik e mart), building in blue are ones I am going to buy in the foreseeable future. I own a lot of other smaller Lego sets like coast guard boats, smaller boats, campers, etc. I am probably going to incorporate a camp ground on the long leg. Challenges: - There is a drop in height of the shelf between the longest leg and and the rest of the layout labeled 'height drop' - this can also be seen in one of the images above in the back. Sadly the shelf pictured above already existed in the garage and we weren't allowed to take it out/it would have been too much work, so we have to work with the height it's at. I am looking forward to figuring that one out. I'll attempt to build a road up to there somehow, worse comes to worse the road will run off the layout and the height drop will just be a pretty staircase for pedestrians. - The corners are very deep so it is not very convenient to be used for buildings. My plan is to build some really nice scenery, hopefully incorporating a water feature (river or waterfall or both), which I have always wanted to try and build I am going to stop here for now. I am very excited to keep you all updated on my progress as I work on this layout. It'll take years to complete and my largest constraint is definitely money and time. Please let me know your thoughts! If you have suggestions on where to put buildings, how to tackle the height drop or any other comments, they are all welcome! Also if someone knows of a simple drawing program like this for Mac (old OS - 10.9.5) that would be fantastic (pay for is fine, I just want to stop having to use my work laptop for my hobby). Furthermore, as a LEGO fan, I wanted to create a set idea that contains a lot of food minifigure utensils and the legendarily hard-to-find LEGO goat. It's been a while since I built and posted a modular building, and this post will be another exception. Still not a modular building, but at least it's a house. I've been busy with life, and a little bit fed up with the same design (or very similar) with my modular buildings, so I had a break and ventured to build other themes. Nevertheless, my luck changed and my building block was overcome when I got this old raised baseplate from Poolside Paradise. I never had Paradisa sets as a child, but I liked the plate anyway and wanted to put it to good use. Since the building space is very limited, this is what I came up with. My idea was to hide the odd light green baseplate color, but leave the stone pattern of the driveway. This is why I covered the pool area with tiles representing wooden patio, and the surrounding of the raised baseplate with LBG ingots representing stones. In addition to this raised baseplate, I got several other old bricks and pieces over the last few months, and the idea was to incorporate as much as possible of them. I used the old palm tree trunks and a few pink plates around the house. Other than that I wanted a clean design with a chance to see the interior details when exhibited. In light of a tribute to Paradisa theme, I used pink and purple shades as an accent throughout the building. The ground floor is a kitchen and dining area with seating for two since it's a very small floor plan. The chrome silver cup is another old part, from the Belville series. The kitchen working space is small, there are a stove and oven, a sink, some cabinets, and a fridge. I added a green plant to live up the room a bit. The best part of this floor is, in my opinion at least, the view of the flowers, palm trees, and the pool. The parts for the palm tree trunk are not as sturdy as I expected, that's the reason the palm trees are so flexed. Nevertheless, they provide excellent shade for lounging by the pool. On the second floor, there's a bedroom with a side table and some bookshelves. Since I love to read, I want to add a touch of that to all my buildings. Color-sorted books is another thing I do at home, too. The bed has a large headboard design, with a print from the Friends Heartlake Grand Hotel. The chair and some books on this floor are from the recently acquired collection of old parts in pink. On the top floor, there's a reading nook with a comfortable chair and more bookshelves. The sliding doors open to the small terrace, where the owner keeps one of her larger plants and used the terrace as her favorite place to do some yoga or pilates early in the morning. All in all, I'm happy with the finished villa, and the hints to three different LEGO themes designed primarily for girls. While I'm not a huge fan of these themes as such, I'm excited with many of the parts these themes introduced.
