Sabine River and Northern 408 (NC class diesel switcher) real world MOC

My LEGO model of Sabine River and Northern 408 is below the short handrail, just behind the access ladder. This MOC is based on a real loco, one of five NC class switchers built by Electro-Motive Corporation. (which later became EMD when it was bought by General Motors) Some of these five locomotives had General Electric electrical equipment, while others had Westinghouse, since EMC's own designs were not yet ready. Wikipedia doesn't have a lot to say on the NC class (it doesn't even have it own page!), but it does give us the history of this specific loco which is the last of it's class (as far as I know): 'EMC S/N 651 (built May 1937): Youngstown and Northern Railroad 202, to Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railroad 408 in April 1946, to Marinette, Tomahawk & Western Railroad 408, then finally to the Sabine River and Northern Railroad as 408 before being preserved in the National Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri.' In addition, the engine's plaque at the museum says it cost $91,500 when new, and arrived at the museum in 1974. During the summer months, you can climb into the cab... although it is a very steep climb. The Lego model was heavily inspired by a SW1500 (which is a later cousin to the NC type) model I saw here. You can also read more about the Sabine River and Northern here on Wikipedia. I couldn't possibly get Sabine River and Northern to fit on the long hood, so just initials were placed instead. I also used a new printed 1x6 tile from set 60401 (Construction Steamroller) near the cab door. Thoughts? -
I'm not sure if this belongs here or in Train-Tech. Would it be possible to design a cable propelled rail system such as a funicular railway or a system such as the BART Oakland Airport Connector using LEGOs? Has anyone had success in doing so? Also included are the cable cars of San Francisco as long as they are moved by a cable. could the roller coaster tracks work for a more modern cable system?

Lego city can not be missing taxi. This vintage taxi is definitely matching modular buildings layout. The hood, doors and trunk can be opened. The red double decker bus is one of the iconic London symbol. My model is base on Enviro 400 bus in a minifigure scale. It is 8 stud wide The top and the second level can be easily detached for more playability. The front, rear, and the engine compartment door can be opened. I also designed the London phone booth and the bus stop in this Lego set. This bus does not only fit in London, it can also fit in every kids' Lego city. 1920s modular blue double deck bus with stairs - 10259 MOD (in real bricks)

This model was part of a recreation of the not-yet-released set 10259 (Winter Village Train Station) by user @JopieK (many thanks to him for the file!) over on this post seen here. I added some of my own touches, including a second level with spiral staircase and a change from yellow to blue for the color scheme. The rear of the bus features a slightly hidden spare tire behind the stairs. The model has a opening entry / exit door at the front of the bus and each level comes off individually. The staircase is attached at two points: a four-stud connection to the second level, and a single stud to the lower level. The staircase comes off easily when needed, but is sturdy enough not to fall off at the wrong time. As usual, Comments, Questions and Complaints are always welcome! -

Hi everyone, this is my first post here (besides comments made). I have been working for a few months on a LEGO train model with the help of Lego Digital Designer and other third party softwares to build this. This is the famous Class J 611, currently under restoration and scheduled to be back in service starting May 30, 2015. To celebrate I have been working on the LEGO version of the 611 for a few months and I think its a thing of beauty and I am very pleased with the results. Note: The wheels are not correct because i haven't quite figured out how to manually add BBB XL wheels to my LDD file to make the renders with them on it. I started out using LEGO's train drivers but found they were too small for what the 4-8-4 should have. Class J runs on 70" drivers in real life so they had to be big! I am not quite finished with the running gear yet but I am hoping to start build this soon and would like everyone's opinion on the design and what I should change or suggestions to improve. I also made some other train models (see attached below)

I dreamed up a train station that I have been developing over the last couple months. I wanted to share it here, I hope you like it. Its gotten nearly 300 supporters so far on Lego Ideas. I hope if you like it, you could throw some support at it there. I show it with a couple passenger cars based on the Emerald Night train set, for scale. The platform roof is at just the right height. Its designed to stand alone, with attachment slopes along the platform to attach along regular track sections. There are lots of details from seating to a paper vending machine (I borrowed the idea from the Detective's Office set, though changed the colour scheme). Inside, on the ground floor is a lounge/pub area, and a ticket office and waiting area. Upstairs, on the 1st floor, is a cafe, with a cafeteria style setup to order, select food and pay, then go sit at tables. Its done in yellow and white, like some cafes I know of. There is a ladder that leads up 2 more levels into the tower, at the top of which is a 4 sided clock. The colours I used are dark orange with tan, windows in black, and some dark bluish gray accents around the cornices, and the roof of the tower. The platform roof is dark green. I am only attaching a few of the photos here, but there are more on the Ideas project page, if you are interested in more detail. What's your favorite railway museum, and why? I was at the China Railway Museum here in Beijing a few weeks ago for the third time and it got me to thinking about all the wonderful train museums I've seen in my travels. I thought it might make for an interesting discussion here in the train forum. Mine would have to be the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, Missouri. It's been awhile since I've been there, but some pieces that stick out in my mind are the Big Boy (above, photo from their website) and UP 6944 (below, photo from UP150.com): This GM Aerotrain (designed to pull modified highway bus coaches for commuters) always fascinated me (photo from Wikipedia): They also have the original EMD FT Demo engine # 103 which is a model I always admired (photo from American-Rails.com): Anyway, they have a lot of stuff there! If you're anywhere near it, don't hesitate to take a look. Their web site is here. Besides the large array of historical pieces, the fact that it was within walking distance of my home factors in a lot to it's ranking as my favorite. A couple other American museums that I remember as being exceptional are: California State Railway Museum in Sacramento, CA B & O Railway Museum in Baltimore, MD ...but I'll leave those for others to discuss as I'm not so familiar with them. Oh, the China Railway Museum in Beijing? It's pretty good! It's completely enclosed in one huge shed and they have an interesting array of motive power there. It would be better if they had more English placards and maybe a bus that goes there as it can be tricky to find and hard to get a taxi out of. If you happen to be in Beijing and have an afternoon to kill, go take a look. Their web site (in Chinese) is here, the Wikipedia entry (in English) is here. They also have an annex in the center of the city in the old Qianmen Railway Station, but I've never been there. I don't think that there's any rolling stock there.
