  1. Hi guys, my name is Swamp and I'm here to present you a, well, micro scale castle made in LDD. It's my first try in this so I'd appriciate critique.
  2. My entry for Category B of the Midde Earth Contest. The Age of Men is now in the present and the Kingdom of Arnor is restored. Arnor soldiers are sent out to the east of their capital to patrol areas for retreating orcs. Instead of finding orcs, these Arnor soldiers encountered a bear cave with an old bear residing in it. Well, at least it isn't another orc pack... Radagast is spotted on the ridge, but will he help the Arnor soldiers? Inside: I thought I would throw Radagast in there because there is no concrete evidence that places him out of Middle Earth during the Age of Men.

    [MOC] Siege of the Citadel

The great siege has begun. Hordes crash upon the Citadel's mighty walls, its defenders holding invaders at bay. At first the fighting is even, the defenders even slaying one of the serpentine beasts sent forth and felling a siege tower that was brought upon. However as the days progress, battle wear is beginning to take its toll upon the Citadel's brave defenders. When does the Emperor and his allies come to aid? The gates won't hold much longer, making the tower and the keep the last stand for the defenders of the Citadel.....

    [MOC] Dragon King's Rally

Standing atop his fortified tower, the wielder of the Crown of Fire, has summoned his mammoth army to a single purpose: destroy the Emperor's Citadel. Uruk Hai bred for combat, mercenaries donning black armor and red eyes infused by the Dragon King's warlocks magic, filthy trolls from the farthest reaches of the Wild Lands, serpentine beasts yoked under the magic spells of the warlocks, and the wild men loyal to the Dragon King. Bearing the crowns of the conquered kings as battle standards, they will stop at nothing until the Citadel is but shadows and dust. [MOC] Minas Tirith

Minas Tirith is probably have the least number of lego incarnations out of all the major lotr locations. I've seen plenty of beautiful helms deep, orthanc, rivendell, etc. but not that many Minas Tirith. So here's my rendition. This moc was a pleasure to build. It's a combination of three things that I love to build and fairly good at, circle, micro, and rock. My cuusoo project http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/58380 Micro siege weapon How it's built. Dragon King's Tower

The Great Tower of the Dragon King. Built as a keep to garrison troops that kept away barbarians, savages, and all sort of brute and destitute denizens of the Wild Lands of the Great Northwest, the Tower was taken over by the 1st Dragon King over a millennia ago. From this imposing fortress, those who wear the Crown of Fire launch attacks on the Emperor's lands. In this late hour, aided by evil warlocks, the Dragon King has raised a mammoth army to raze the Emperor's Citadel. Summoning fell beasts, brute barbarians, uruk hybrids, and two land drakes, he is on a warpath. His Marshall remains with the tower's garrison as the army has departed, the Citadel its target IMG_20141023_231200901 IMG_20141023_231206604 Dragon King's Tower
  8. Hey guys, The last day or too, I have gotten this idea for a Medieval themed story. The Medieval Election is based on a sacred ruling of the Kingdoms rulers to allow one a certain ruler to have a chance to be elected. These elections happened very rarely, if elected he will obtain his benefits that were mentioned when he was going for election. However rivalery and corruption follow close by.. Bandits form, rivals change, friends turn to enemies. I'd likely to quickly mention that half of this video suffered some light flicker, now I can say with certainty it wasn't from myself causing the light flicker rather it was a setting that was already formed in my program called (back light compensation) I have no idea why it was checked but it was the serious cause of light flicker.. as you will notice after about half way everything is back to normal. I do apologize for that and will look into making sure its turned off everytime in future! This was a really fun vid to work on, first time doing a sword sequence, a different walk cycle, and some small masking, with of course dialog, and improved set scenery. Now I was inclined in thinking this may be better in the released section or production, I was debating over it for some time. I didn't think releases just yet, as it's not a finished film but perhaps a part. Then I said to myself this may be better as a WIP. As its still going and as I mentioned I am learning new things, most notably was the sword sequence/slashing and stabbing. Also I have made two videos (Both exactly the same) Only one with no blood effect and one with it. I understand some users don't like it, or just think it goes well in lego films which is why I made the first link blood free! I'd love to get any feedback on what I can improve what I could work on, if the walk cycle is better than my original, and just what you guys thought of the whole in general. I've made the original (without blood effect) Public with annotation for the same vid with the effect if people wish to watch it that way, in a unlisted link. Is this a good idea in your opinions? I also waited until I had both links uploaded for it to be easier and more accessible. (No blood effect) (With Blood effect)Thanks guys, Divine.

    Emperor's Citadel MOC

This is the 2nd part of my Castle/LOTR theme. Built with a Kings Mountain Fortress as a core keep, I expanded the size and height of the walls to give a more realistic look. Due to strapped wallet, I bought blocks in bulk via eBay, and used light gray paintspray to give them that rocky grayish look. The citadel has a stable, a jail cell, a market, a small farming lot, armory and a forge with a prominent chimney. Garrisoned there are the castle keepers (plate armor light gray helmets not uniformed), citizen militia (heavy armored/green archers), and the imperial guard (dark helmet, pearl gray armor, lion plate armor). The towers have the LOTR uruk hai ballista, and there is an Elven princess (the Emperor's future wife) inside the keep. The Dragon King's army is being mobilized to capture the Citadel after destroying the 4 lesser kingdoms of Men (the dead king's crowns serve as the army's standards). Though well protected and fiercely defended, the monstrous army set to conquer it won't stop till razing it to the ground. Will post pics during the day IMG_20141018_073319835 IMG_20141018_073312823 IMG_20141018_073242508 IMG_20141018_073308786 IMG_20141018_073257916 IMG_20141018_073226908 IMG_20141018_073328890 IMG_20141018_073303060
  11. The reclusive Elves of the Western Shores have had their hands full dealing with drakes and the great dragons of the Wild Lands. Adapting human technologies the elves have built ballistae defenses to counter the foul beasts that, on their own or summoned by the wielder of the Crown of Fire, attack their solemn keeps. With four harpoons, it will fell even the largest dragons, tho, it all depends on the skill of the Elven soldier who mans it. IMG_20141024_160042581 IMG_20141024_160031445 IMG_20141024_160042581

    Dragon King Army MOC

This is the first part of my MOC. Using various Castle and LOTR figures, I built a Tower Fortress for the evil Dragon King and a fearsome army to siege and destroy the Emperors Citadel. The army is composed of Uruk Hai Halberdiers, Dragon soldiers (Spear, Sword, Axe), Evil Knights with Ninjago blades, 8 barbarian minifigs, two dragons hauling catapults (4) and two (2) siege towers with one (1) Troll pushing one and a horse team the other. Approx 320 minifigs. More pics More pics
  14. Just as the title says, would you like the vikings back? If yes, in what form? Like the last time with horned helmets and dragons and catapults? Or more realistic? I want them to be more realistic, with different helmets, different shield designs, of course the viking long ship, maybe a long house. And of course a lot of vikings, viking woman, kids, and more historical accurate stuff. I also don't mind the vikings comeback with the dragons and snakes and wolves, as long as they return! I love vikings! What is your opinion?

    Castle Anrarr

The Great Castle Anrarr, built by the Lord Parimere on the Inland Sea near East Gate as one of his main strongholds in Kaliphlin. The great castle slowly gathered a small town around it and became a place of safety and refuge for the towns folk in times of war. For those interested, an improved version of this, (or something similar) will be at Brickvention Australia in 2015. More pics on flickr I would like to claim UoP credits for Anthropology, Life in Kaliphlin. Update: 1 UoP credit short of approval.

    Action Figure Review: King Jayko

Set Title: King Jayko Set #: 8701 Theme: Knights Kingdom II (Final Action Figures Wave) Pieces: 130 Year of release: 2006 Price at Release: $20.00 or £12.99 Advertising Blurb: Source And we will get to that fireball in a few more sections! Intro; Some Background and Info: The front of the box is featured at the top; here is the back as well as an exciting picture from the instructions. ^^This Pic advertises the Castle line of '06 ( A glorious time for constraction as well as System LEGO.)^^ The Pieces/Unboxing: (The reason I got this set ) Interesting Parts: Be right back as I assemble this regal ruler... Here is Jayko complete, and in the instruction's cramped-looking reference pose. I will go ahead and list some Pros and Cons he has, as if he were packaged seperately as a Knight: Pro: He is pretty tall (as I will compare to Vezon and Mata Lewa) Pro: He has a very nice Silver, Gold, and white color scheme. Con: The only things that throw this off is the blue pin (that you will only see if he is in this very vulnerable stance), the fact that his shoulders have a darker shade with a glittery sort of texture, that crown that is a little darker than the chest armor, and (for the truly picky) the Knights Kingdom ratchet pins are not really silver, but a sort of quiet blue. Con: The Knights Kingdom joints. As much as I love the aesthetics of most the Knights Kingdom action figures, their joints are as annoying as Karzahni (the place )! Actually posing him for pictures is extremely difficult, and I jsut settled for the very cramped reference pose. This pose itself is somewhat of a con because it is so cramped. Pro: The arms look pretty complete for a Constraction set! They aren't really exposed anywhere except for maybe the forearms, part of which are already shaped to sort of resemble gauntlets. Pro: The back also looks pretty complete, and the cape helps with this and also with the below, but not fully. Con: Like pretty much all Constraction figures, he lacks armor on the backs of his legs. What armor he does have on the front of his legs hinders posing the feet. Pro: The function of the figure is actually pretty good. While you do have to adjust the arms a bit for certain poses, they are probably the easiest to pose part of his whole build. The function itself has two movement gears that function independantly, which is a huge plus! This allows for a sort of Rock 'em Sock 'em independant arm swinging so they can bash with their shields, block, or swing the spiffy sword! Overall, I like the appearance of this figure and the function a lot. Its a real shame about the poseability though which is a tremendous drawback. Without the catapult it would really be a sort of clone of Mathias or any of the other Knight's sets really. Now on to the Aforementioned Catapult! The catapult features two really neat functions, made possible mainly by the standard LEGO System. The catapult is about the right size, and made to work with the action figure. Despite the large ammount of System pieces it is a part of an Action Figure set. The main function is- of course- to launch things! ... which it can do pretty well. This thing can in fact compete with most Action Figure blasters for distance and in a way it is Jayko's blaster. If you can fight past the posing and strange angling, and give Jayko something heavy enough to bash the lever with (possibly his shield), you can make him launch the fireball. The fireball: (Sorry for Blurry ) The fireball is the two halves of the boulder, with three (3) trans reddish-orange cyinder-type 1x1s. It is intended to fall apart on impact with whatever it hits, scattering pieces everywhere! (it wouldnt be fun if we didnt have that risk of losing pieces, right Zamor fans? ) A secondary feature: As the catapult rolls forward, it chops ( )This is how it works: The axes are each mounted on long axles like so, and those are attached freely via pin to the sides of the catapult. Each wheel has these Technic-compatible half-bricks that are also attached freely by pins to the catapult. As the wheels turn, the bricks underneath bump the axes up and down sharply (no pun intended, but it may as well have been). Final Pic (and attempt to pose with these joints): Final Thoughts: The set itself is really awesome as a whole, the king being "cool" on his own as well. The overall appearance is pleasing. All the functions are great- the catapult itself is great for pelting cats or running over minifigs if you are into those sorts of things (I did not and would not pelt my family's cat ). I cannot really find any cons with the catapult, except that it looks a little weak in the sides. The set itself is really amazing for parts, providing two different kinds of weapons (3 with the complete catapult), as well as the ever-nifty medieval armor for knights. If you can get this at a reasonable price like I did (avoiding sellers of "Collector's Items") it is well worth it. The original retail price is USD $20.00, which is pretty standard for Titans and I do consider King Jayko to be a KKII equivalent of a titan. Sadly, when compared to other titans he is pretty lacking (mostly in complexity, but so much so that comparing to BIONICLE's makes him look pretty bad) Build: 8/10 pretty solid in appearance in color scheme. Lacking a little on the fortification side of constraction. Parts: 7/10 (I did get the set for this reason however:) Despite having a good sum of technic parts and System parts, this is an action figure set and System and parts and Knight's Kingdom limbs and torsos are kind of a liability to action figure sets for MoCing purposes. It is not impossible to use these pieces for action figure MoC's, but it can be difficult. In partial compensation, it does give us quite a few converters and pins/connectors though plus the equipment which can work a lot better for CCBS and Technic use. Price: 10/10 I felt it was worth the fun of putting together and playing with a bit, and it also has serious MoCing potential. If you could get its original retail price (like I did)- or maybe just 10 over- and then compare that price-to-plastic ratio to modern constraction figures', this definitely seems about right. Overall: 8.7/10 This is just averaging the scores of the other categories and adding a bit on, because I do find this to be a very decent set. It almost feels wrong to disassemble his suit of armor for my own due to just how complete and nearly perfect the set looks. I am very glad to have gotten this set. I kind of wish Knights Kingdom II hadnt ended. They did some very interesting things with it towards the end and I would have liked to see more. (Here's hoping they consider KKIII in CCBS ) How did I do? How does this set look for you? Edit: Fix'd as many typing errors as I could. Added notes I left out. Also corrected tags.

    Valholl Winery and Bottlery

It seemed like a peacful night for Ulric, but.... Ulric dismissed the light sound he heard behind one of the lightposts, "It must be a rat." Before he could react, the unkown man had flipped him on the ground and had pulled his dagger out switfly. After hearing a yelp from inside, Bjorn called to several more guards and the burst into the winery.
  19. Hi everybody! This is my entry for the 4th task: Scholars: Observatory, Alchemist, Philosopher, Astrologer Grey Beard Wizard Cottage – a cozy cottage on the heart of the enchanted forest of Vanhorn. So, continuing my sigfig history, Adam and his apprentice went to Grey Beard’s cottage right on the heart of Vanhorn forest. Grey Beard is a mysterious wizard and alchemist, but also a good friend of Adam. He creates many potions and magic “stuff” and is a very wise man. And since Adam is on a new quest, soon departing to a distant land, he needs a few things from him. Sorry for the lack of a more elaborated story or dialogue, but English is not my prime language and, to be honest, I suck at creating story’s and dialogues! Here are some pics. It was a huge pain to photograph this MOC because of the size and the various textures and colors and, of course, my almost total lack of photographing skills! I never seem to get it right… Anyway, I hope you like it! It was inspired in some photos that I came across on the net! Some photos: I would like to claim credits for (Hope I did this right. If someone thinks that I missed something, please let me now J ): Architecture: Wall technics: off-set on tan walls) Advanced snot (rockwork on landscape – not sure if this qualifies although I used lot of SNOT technics) Landscape: Tree design Flowers and dense foliage
  20. I've recently come out of my dark ages and back into collecting my favorite childhood toy, Legos. My favorites as a child were always castle, pirate, and city. Now as I get older I find my interest is primarily in castle and pirate and creating large scenes and landscapes related to those. Anyway that's my short into, now to the good stuff in this post, my review of the lego store in Troy, MI (I live in Grand Rapids, MI so Troy is the closest one). Went today (9/6). I will rate the store 1-10 on 3 categories: staff, pick a brick wall, build a mini fig kiosk. Staff: 9 - pleasant, helpful, one even went in back to see if they had any mini fig weapons as the kiosk was out. Patient and nice despite being busy on a Saturday. Pick a brick wall: 7.5 - nice selection of bricks if you are interested in building landscapes or a fort or castle, light blue grey, dark blue grey, light tan, red brown, green bricks and plates. I bought up all the 1x1x4 light blue grey bricks (wish they had more). Would have liked to see more tiles selections. Mini fig kiosk: 2 - terrible selection, almost all figs were construction workers or women, I bought all the pirate soldier torsos I could which was 5. No muskets, bought 1 cutlas, no additional hats, epaulettes, backpacks, or medieval weapons or armor or helmets. A few kingdoms lion knights torsos but no matching legs. In comparison to the mini fig kiosk in northbrook mall (n chicago) this paled in comparison. I will post a review of northbrook soon. Overall I give the Troy location a 6.33. This could be improved however if they improve the mini fig kiosk. I will email lego my to make them aware of this.

    [MOC] modular castle

Here is my attempt of making a castle. I had to stop it and take it apart so it's not as detailed as I had planned. Let me know what you think... the top of the tower. It comes off to reveal the Kings court. I am trying to add more photos but it is saying that I have "exceeded your allotted disk space for attachments". Any ideas on how to attach more photos? There is a King's Court under the tower, a moving bridge, stables and armory, dungeon. I 'd like to share those and get input.

    Jeanne D'Arc

Joan of Arc, nicknamed "The Maid of Orléans" (French: La Pucelle d'Orléans), is considered a heroine of France and a Roman Catholic saint. She was born to a peasant family at Domrémy in north-east France. Joan said she received visions of the Archangel Michael, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine instructing her to support Charles VII and recover France from English domination late in the Hundred Years' War. The uncrowned King Charles VII sent Joan to the siege of Orléans as part of a relief mission. She gained prominence after the siege was lifted in only nine days. Several additional swift victories led to Charles VII's coronation at Reims. On 23 May 1430, she was captured at Compiègne by the allied English-Burgundian faction. She was later handed over to the English, and then put on trial by the pro-English Bishop of Beauvais Pierre Cauchon on a variety of charges. After Cauchon declared her guilty she was burned at the stake on 30 May 1431, dying at about nineteen years of age. (excerpt from wikipedia) images In this set is portrayed the escort provided to the dauphin to Orléans for his crowning. I've added some playability with the crashing tree - perfect for an english ambush. Let me know what you think Also this is posted in ideas.lego https://ideas.lego.com/projects/80187 and I'd appreciate your support

    Castle Anrarr W.I.P.

I am currently working on extending my Gate house, (more pictures here http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=99983 ) into a proper castle as a base for my sig fig. I'm currently waiting on a Bricklink order now, so I should have most of it finished by Friday. (I hope). This should also be at Brickvention Australia in 2015 (assuming it gets in). I'm not quite sure about the strip of light grey on the second segment, so I may remove it, (if I get around to it).
  25. Hogwarts Boathouse Death of Severus Snape This is the Hogwarts boathouse. It is the place to store magical boats which are used to bring first-year students to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by the Black Lake. Also Professor Severus Snape died there in the film adaptation of Deathly Hallows (in the book he died in the Shrieking Shack). The boathouse from Deathly Hallows: Part II: The live-action full-scale set which only lacks the roof: I was always impressed with scale of Harry Potter studio sets. And this is the boathouse from the Hogwarts model which was used in first six Harry Potter films (along with Production Designer Stuart Carig): The boathouse was redesigned in Deathly Hallows: Part II, especially for Snape's death scene. Side view (with Harry Potter spying on Voldemort): Rear view: Hagrid transfers first-year students to Hogwarts Castle: The empty boathouse: The furniture (I don't know why wizards need oars but they were in the film): The main characters: Harry Potter, Professor Severus Snape, Lord Voldemort and Nagini, his pet snake and horcrux: The interior with Snape and Voldemort: The Death Eater and his Dark Lord are discussing magical powers of the Elder Wand: Harry Potter is hiding behind the window and watching for Snape and Voldemort: ...And suddenly the windows opened... "AVADA KEDAVRA!" No, not like that! This is far much better: Voldemort ordered Nagini to kill Snape, and she bit his throat: No mercy, no compassion. The Dark Lord doesn't care of his pawns. Voldemort is ready to leave the boathouse: Harry collects Snape's memories into a vial and looks into his eyes. The grim and snarky professor sees that the eyes of his most hated student remind him of his unfortunate love. Of Lily Potter. And then, he dies. Or, at least, it seemed like that:
