  1. I remember being thrilled when BrickForge came out with its centaur body and rushed to order some from the US. I had wanted to add LEGO centaurs to my collection for years. Fast forward a good long time and LEGO has finally graced us with centaur equine parts of its own: the smaller, blue one from Trolls, and the very recently released HP one. Below are all the centaurs from my display collection. I think I am right in saying that there are no other moulded centaur parts without cutting horses, so this represents all the uncut possibilities. The blue ones may seem odd but there is precedent. At least two Disney films have had blue or bluish-violet centaurs. Special thanks @Exetrius for correctly identifying the shade of the Trolls' centaur's body as medium blue back when it had not yet been released and the only pictures made it not obvious. Even though it is officially medium blue, it is not a perfect match. LEGO seems to be slipping in its colour consistency. Questions? Comments? Chironic concerns?

    [MOC] Centaur w/ Tailgunner

Centaur w/ Tailgunner (1) by socalbricks, on Flickr Centaur w/ Tailgunner (2) by socalbricks, on Flickr Some time after the city of O'Rai was destroyed, it civilians, now nomadic, encountered a clan of centaurs. Both groups had come into conflict with the various gangs of robbers and mercenaries that patrolled the plains and woodland of southwest Avalonia. A heavily armed, coordinated and agile cavalry was needed. The two groups chose to band together, and came up with the idea of combining a centaur and rider, with both of them often training together at a young age. This strategy would prove quite effective, with horde after horde of robbers falling to hoof, blade, and arrow. Riders now had a "cavalry" they could coordinate attacks with, and centaurs had their flanks (their one weak point) protected. --------------------------- A few months ago, back when I was researching weapons I wanted my centaur character (Ayra) to carry, I stumbled upon video by a YouTuber named Shadiversity, who mentioned that one of a centaur's best weapons would be a friendly human/elf/drawrf/etc. riding on its back. This gave me some ideas, and I got to building. For simplicity's sake, I chose to use Ayra as a template. On top of the addition of a "tailgunner", I also added clothing/barding to the character's lower/"horse half". This mitigated the open studs that existed on the original version, and in my opinion makes things look much cleaner overall. [MOC] Ayra

Back in 2017, I built a Centaur MOC and put it on Flickr. Looking back on it, it was pretty basic, so I decided to revamp it and make it part of the "Guilds of Historica" universe. After a lot of trial and error, this is what I wound up with. The character's name is Ayra, and she is from Avalonia. I don't have a light box at the moment, so I decided to get some outdoor shots instead. Hopefully I can get some clearer shots and come up with a backstory in the future. Enjoy! Ayra (4) by socalbricks, on Flickr The figure comes complete with a bendable waist, which I achieved using backwards minifigure legs. Ayra (2) by socalbricks, on Flickr Some more shots...
