Can you see in the dark? I can. Sleep in fear.
  2. Lately, there have been surfacing some great mini models here. Please take your time to accept my micro (not just mini!) models here as well. Because finally, after half a year of sweating, I can proudly present these micro ships to you . I've been wanting to make these guys ever since my A-wing, to expand my lines of micro SW ships. But it didn"t proove to be easy. [MOC] micro B-wing & Y-wing by Bert.VR, on Flickr I had already built a Y-wing with 5 pieces, but didn't consider that as what I really wanted . So I sat down again to play with all kinds of pieces. The idea of using Technic axles for the columns was what sparked the Y-wing. It also offered a chance to use my favorite part, the wrench. It may look a bit skinny, but at least a sence of greebling is there. The hardest part was the head of the fighter. I really wanted that sloping form, and it had to be thicker than the body (that wonderful SNOT brick). I came up with the frogman's foot inserted in a claw piece. And tada, a 15 part Y-wing is born (16 parts if you would like to add a minifig hand on top to simulate a cannon)! In my opinion, it's much better than the version from the advent calendar... [MOC] micro B-wing & Y-wing by Bert.VR, on Flickr A B-wing had never been featured in the advent calendar (the scale I aim for), and pretty soon I discovered why. To make it look good in this scale, it has to be as thin as a single plate, and studs would completely ruin the model . So I was left with all those specialty pieces. I scrolled through the whole part inventory of LDD multiple times, only to find nothing. The B-wing remained unbuilt for several months. Do you know that feeling when after a very long time, you finally find what you are looking for? Well, imagine the feeling I experienced when, completely out of the blue, I stumbled across THE piece for my B-wing . Recognized it already? The piece that makes the central wing of the B-wing is... It had everything (apart from not being produced in grey) to make my B-wing look good. Some claw pieces, and my favorite wrench part soon snapped into place. The wings were a bit tricky, but I'm satisfied with the minifig neck pieces. The hole in it can be assumed to be that logo on the wings. They're not foldable, but can be swapped out easily with normal 1x1 plates to go to landing mode. The B-wing is my smallest model yet, with only 8 (!) pieces . I hope you can enjoy it nonetheless. It's not buildable in real life, unless you want to paint a Buzz wing. The Y-wing is buildable (hurray!), if you go with regular yellow instead of cool yellow, and pick the technic axles in dark grey. so in fact, you could put it next to my x-wing, or any other micro's you might have. [MOC] micro B-wing & Y-wing - exploded by Bert.VR, on Flickr I hope you like it. Comments are always welcome, as well as suggestions for further micro's. Because Size matters not. Judge me by my size, do you ?
  3. Hi everyone, Speculations are coming whether there will be a next wave of LOTR sets this year ot not, since there are no sign of them. There are several scenes/caracters that we miss so much! The most iconic is – at least for me – Minas Tirith! I dared to design something, that could be released as an official sets. I tried to think with TLG’s head, regarding piece and minifig count and playability. This is what I came up with: The whole set with Minas Tirith gate, Grond, the tower with the signaling fire with some minifigs. The Grond from a closer view. The ram itself is hanged on chains, so you can swing it, when you try to break the gate. Because you can break the gate! You can see two technic bars at the two side of the gate. [1st picture] If you remove them, the gate can be pushed back from forward, imitating the siege, when the Wolf’s head crashes the gate. The rear view. The gate can be closed. I admit, I run out of steam with the furniture, so it’s a little empty. That was not my main point. :) The minifigs: Rear row: Two orcs in battle armor, Gothmog and a Cave Troll. First row. Pippin in Minas Tirith Guard outfit, Gandalf the white and two Gondorian soldiers. Disclaimer: I used the parts that are available in LDD so I had to live with its limitations. No proper LOTR troll mold and no new molds of course (For Gothmog’s head for instance). And the whole model is a compressed version of part of the city, but it is not unusual in official LEGO sets. The tower with the fire is not so close to the gate, but I wanted to add as many play feature as possible. The Citadel was left out though. I don't think it could be built together with the gate without making the city to small. Yes, there is a ballista. Remember, think like TLG.

  6. Okay, here's something I've been working for a few weeks ago. I am really big fan of Hero Factory 1.0 designs. More over, I never considered the new Ultrabuild system aesthetically good, although it was my dream to combine Ultrabuild poseability and 1.0 design. I don't think I am the only one here, and it is really good to know. Also my LDD models are always were kinda realistic - I am certain that about 70% of my models will be really solid and sturdy in real. So my other goal while making those custom bodies was to create something that I can build in real life someday. Hero Factory Reloaded - full custom body by The Mugbearer, on Flickr There they are, my custom Heroes. The left one is for female characters like Natalie Breez and the left one is for male. The legs and body are compatible with v1.0 armor (the photo represents only legs because the model was made a few years ago). As you can see, the frame is quite poseable. Also, it's pretty easy to modify. The main feature of the frame is something that adds more lore basis: a Quaza Core right under the Hero Core. Stormer 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Ah, Preston Stormer. He was the first one to get the new body. It was mostly because I found his helmet after latest LDD update and was really glad. I've added a Bionicle Stars foot and think that it fits well here. Breez 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Natalie Breez was first Hero I made with female body. Bulk 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Duncan Bulk with new body that is covered with armor. Laser minigun was inspired by X-Com: Enemy Unknown. Rocka 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Daniel Rocka ready to drop the hammer! Furno 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr It was always with my Furno models that I add a weapon holder on his back. I like it that way. Evo 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on FlickrI already made more, but will upload them later. Surge 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Nex 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Stringer 1.7 by The Mugbearer, on Flickr C&C are much appreciated, as always. Get the file of the frame.

    [LDD MOC] Furno Marine

If somebody actually remember, there was an actual MOC of mine with the same name. I honestly don't like the 'eternal remake' approach to MOCs (one of my friends has like tons of remakes of his character, and not only one), but I couldn't resist the urge to make an LDD version of Furno Marine. Furno Marine by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Such a pity that LDD palette does not have all the parts to fulfill my needs for that MOC, but I tried hard to keep the same aesthetics.

    What happened to Nex:

so i noticed a topic asking what happened to Nex and Stringer; and since what happened to Stringer was answered, i decided to do some fanfic and build a ldd to explain what happened to Nex (and yes the color scheme change was intentional) So, what happened was, after the hero's defeated the brains; in order to stop more brains from coming hf decided to make Nex space worthy and go and destroy the brain's home planet; thus ending the threat. So here he is; First a pic: Sorry about the size. okay here's the update * flick fire missiles are bio-bombs (like the bio-bomb in Artemis Fowl (http://artemisfowl.w...Biological_bomb), only the greater range). the hammer just a hammer file: nex.lxf

    {LDD MOC} Violet Bolt

Violet Bolt is an electric female hero. She even has electric hair. Her weapon is a double-ended lightning staff. Violet has a ferocious hatred of Voltix and a crush on Mark Surge. She often fantasizes about giving Voltix the shock of his life while saving Surge from him. Click any picture for a larger version. {LXF File} - {Brickshelf Gallery} -Toa Of Justice
  10. Hi everyone, I was watching Episode II the other day, and at the scene in the Geonosian droid factory I was thinking how action filled it was, and how great it would be if we could see it in a LEGO set. So I designed it. I tried to make it the LEGO-way, so playability for children was more important then being exactly in the movie. So I compressed the many deadly machines in one long conveyor belt. This is how it looks like: With Anakin, Padmé, a Geonosian warrior, and a droid (it is a droid factory after all). Moving the two tan arms (one is visible here) from left to right you can imitate the movement of the belt. Can you avoid the deadly machines alongside it? Evade the robotic arms that want to catch Anakin! Help the Jedi by pulling the ball, so you can knock down that nasty insect! (Meanwhile, the droid production is still in progress) Can Padmé avoid the cutting metal plates?
  11. Hi to everyone, After watching the star wars advent calendar reviews all over the internet, the idea came to design one on my own. Of course after xmas, it wouldn’t make any sense to make a day-by-day opening thread in January, but I didn’t want to wait until December since it’s so far away now! Then I checked when the official Lego Star Wars Advent Calendars (AC) are officially introduced and I realized that at the end of January(!) there is a confirmation, and pictures are coming in February. So I didn’t had too much time after all, since I had a plan: Make a prediction, how the AC in 2014 will look like. In last year (2013 that is) I noticed that the AC was full of Ep. II builds. After making statistics about the 3 ACs so far it turned out that there are many Ep. I and II builds and some from Ep IV-VI, but out of the 72 “days” there was only one(!!) for Ep. III, namely Grievous' Starfighter. So, it is time for an Episode III Advent! I wanted to make the “TLG way”, brick countwise and by the used minifigs/microbuild ratio as well. So I’m terribly sorry, but there will be a battle droid and two weapon racks in it. But the good news are that you can expect a Santa fig and a “funny, christmasish star wars item” too. So let’s see the pictures: Microbuilds: Venator-class Star Destroyer, Invisible Hand, ARC-170, Droid tri-fighter More microbuilds: Droid gunship, Jedi interceptor, Yoda's escape pod, V-wing fighter, Clone turbo tank Even more microbuilds: Rudolph, the red-nosed AT-AT, AAT, Tie interceptor, Jabba's barge Minifigs: Ewok, Wookie trooper, Santa Obi-Wan, MagnaGuard and a weapon rack for them Minifigs: another droid, GH-7 medical droid, Imperial officer, Kashyyyk trooper, Commander Cody in Ep. III outfit and the 2nd weapon rack Disclaimer: I tried to make everything as similar to existing minifigs/parts as possible, but some parts are not available/decalable in LDD.
  12. So i've been building a set on LDD and have been working on it on and off for a couple of months. The thing is however, is that the list of decorations available in the application for the body is limiting for my creations. I realise that there are a grand total of 1,509 decorations in the .lif file, and would love to have full access to all the available textures in the .lif file. Is there a way to access all of the decorations in the .lif file in the application itself? I thought this especially may be possible now that LDD has a scroll bar when selecting a decoration, that the left over decorations could be shown when scrolling down. Thanks for all your help.
  13. Hello everybody ! I wanted to share with you my first modular MOC; La Poste Du Louvre ! [EDIT] You can now find the lxf files here : http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/samlr/PosteDuLouvre/floor_1.lxf http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/samlr/PosteDuLouvre/floor_2.lxf http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/samlr/PosteDuLouvre/floor_3.lxf http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/samlr/PosteDuLouvre/roof.lxf http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/samlr/PosteDuLouvre/complete.lxf Try to find the skeleton ! [/EDIT] For a big city project, I wanted to have parisian type buildings buildings. I first thought about La Poste Du Louvre because every city needs a post office and because it's typically the kind of building you'll find in Paris. It's known by everyone how live in Paris because it's the only post office opened 24/7. It's life saving when you forgot to send you university inscription form or your income tax declaration :D The architect who designed the building in 1878 is Julien Guadet. It inspired me for the front of the building. The roof and the interior are from my imagination. You can find more picture on my flickr gallery : And this is a link to wikipedia article about La Poste Du Louvre : http://fr.wikipedia....trale_du_Louvre It's made of 4500 parts. I plan to add two side wings to bring it to 96 studs long, and correct some details. Before I do this, I'd really like to know what you think about it and what you believe could be improved ? Best regards, SamLR
  14. Greetings Ladies and Noblemen! I proudly present the new Guilds of Historica advent calendar! I used to design advent calendars for years, but this is the first case that I learned to use LDD and other rendering software well enough to make my designs look more or less realistic enough. What can you expect now? This calendar will be pretty similar that TLG usually designs. The part count is around as in official sets, and I tried to make the daily builds to fit into those little windows in normal advent calendar sets. But this is a Guilds of Historica advent calendar after all, so it must be based on characters and locations you are used to. I didn’t use any of your sigfigs here, since I wanted to avoid jealousy issues (Why him? Why not me?). I think I could capture every guild’s features. It’s you to decide this. Although this calendar is merely a “concept art” and doesn't exist in real form, I designed it to be a good base for everyone who wants to join GoH, to have at least a few bricks and other things to start in any of the four guilds. Of course because of the brick count restriction you won’t be able to build a huge castle from it. I plan to insert the daily build in this thread into separate posts, so check in if you don’t want to miss the fun! So enough of the chit-chat, let’s see the first one: Day 1 Summary:
  15. Goody day to everyone! Christmas is coming, so I decided to celebrate it with my new advent calendar. I used to design advent calendars for years, but this is the first case that I learned to use LDD and other rendering software well enough to make my designs look more or less realistic enough. This calendar will be pretty similar that TLG usually designs. The part count is around as in real sets, and I tried to make the daily builds to fit into those little windows in normal advent calendar sets. The theme will be “winter in the a small town”. People around December start preparing for Christmas; decorating their homes and attending winter markets. This calendar will be focused on that everyone’s heart is filled with Christmas spirit these day - or at least I hope. It won’t be filled fancy looking and expensive presents, no cops or bandits, just 100% joy and laughter. I will insert the daily build in this thread into separate posts, so don’t forget to drop by! Without any further ado, let’s see the first one: Day 1 "Come right in, we've been waiting for you!" Summary:

    LDD lamppost

Played with light sources a little. In theory it should have worked, but the outcome is not yet perfect. But not too bad I hope
  17. Quick question? Have all the parts available in LDD been made by LEGO in all the colours available in LDD? For instance, in LDD there's a white scythe blade available, but I can't find it on Bricklink or anywhere else.

Hi, This is something I just made the other day. I tried to design it to be similar to the official set. I hope you like it.

    Revamp: Jet Rocka

This is my Revamp of Jet Rocka. I've built the actual moc in LDD. I also made a half built version in real life as well. The real life version is just to show the new functions that the LDD one can't show. .LXF file http://www.brickshel...ocka_revamp.lxf Gallery when public http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=537362 Changes from original set 1. Swapped trans green windscreen for larger trans clear windscreen. (Windscreen won't attach in LDD but I will in real life) 2. Modified wing unfolding gimmick. It also makes the jet engines move. 3. Changed handle to add stand so Jetpack can stand on its own when Rocka isn't attached. Stand folds up and extends handle to be held better. 4. Changed Rocka to be built the same as his bag set. Only things changed are removal of silver and both shoulders have armor 5. Zamor blasters can be moved up and down (Similar to LEGOJANG's JET NEX) 6. Red short beam handle replaced with longer blue one Real Life pics (Not actual revamp. Just to show functions) Front- Cockpit open http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_001.jpg Front- Cockpit closed http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_002.jpg Front- Wings extended (Wings can't be locked open. I just put a pin in a beam to hold it open for pics) http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_003.jpg Side- Wings folded http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_004.jpg Side- Wings extended http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_005.jpg Back- Wings folded http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_006.jpg Back- Wings extended http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_007.jpg Zamor cannon position 1 http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_008.jpg Zamor cannon position 2 http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_009.jpg LDD Pics (Actual Revamp) Front http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_010.png Back http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_011.png Landing gear folded up when in flight mode http://www.brickshel...t_rocka_012.png Comments and criticism appreciated
  21. Is there any way to delete or to move the 'LEGO Creations' folder which LDD creates? If I delete the folder, LDD makes it anew when I open LDD. I'm using a Mac if it makes a difference. Thank you for your help.

    MedCo Clinic

flickr I have a hunch I'm pushing the limits on tastefulness of color combinations with this creation, but the intent was to blend alternate hues of Lego's staple hospital colors, red and white. And so without further ado, here's my attempt at a hospital in modular building scale, presented in perhaps not-so-glorious penicillin white, surgeon blue, and blood red: Front: Rear: Interior: Emergency: Recovery: Until next time~
  23. Hello!! After seeing the Technic Set 41999 in which I found aesthetically very beautiful, I decided to make a replica of it in minifig scale :) is actually a Dodge Charger 1970 with big wheels :) I will build the same physically, there are these renderings This MOC its also on Cuusoo http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/51928 Full resolutions http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/
  24. The LDD software forced me into "safe mode" due to some claimed issue with the graphics driver. I don't mind so much, but the "safe mode" background is sort of annoying, and are there any restrictions that happen when in safe mode? thanks
  25. Seriously, I have a MOC on there which I need to share very soon!
