  1. Hi Eurobricks when I opened the .lxf file of various modular buildings and zoomed in on it the following happened i.imgur.com/GILO9wN.png i.imgur.com/vkMxnvZ.png When zoomed out enough it looks fine: i.imgur.com/j7H4Btc.png Does someone know why it looks like that and what I could do about it? P.S: I'm new here so please forgive me any mistakes
  2. For the past two days I've been experiencing a never-before-seen issue with Lego Digital Designer, and while I previously mentioned it in the bugs and brick errors topic, that got no response and I think the issue is significant enough to merit its own topic. Basically, whenever I try to save a new file on LDD, the program crashes. Generally this happens partway through saving, resulting in a tiny, unreadable LXF file with the name I had chosen for the new file. I can load, edit, and save previously-made LXF files just fine, but if I try to "Save As" under a new name, or save a new model for the first time, the program crashes. For reference, I'm using LDD 4.3.8, the current version (which I did try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if it fixed the issue—it did not). My computer is a mid-2012 15-inch MacBook Pro, running OSX Yosemite version 10.10.2. My computer was recently serviced at an Apple Store, where the AirPort wireless receiver was replaced, but I don't know how that could be to blame—particularly considering that saving new files with other programs works normally, and LDD itself functions properly apart from the inexplicable and crippling inability to save new files. Google has been no help at all in terms of finding a solution (or even anyone who can corroborate the issue), and while I have contacted Lego customer service to see if they could report the issue to the LDD team, I'm unsure whether they'll be able to figure out the cause of my problem. As such, any assistance from the Eurobricks community would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Hello, Mugbearer here reporting from sleepy Russia, 04:00 am GMT +3. My LDD just started updating itself with the 4.3.8 patch, so I wanted to ask: am I late for the party or is it something new? If it's new, who knows what are new features and bricks? I guess I would try to find them myself and post a screenshot, so let's start a discussion of a recent patch!
  4. Hello. I've repeatedly found the handlebar piece (30031) difficult to work with, and trying it again proved no different. What I'm trying to do is connect a handlebar (at a 45 degree angle) with a horizontal or slightly upwards-facing and otherwise unattached minifigure torso (only connected by its grip on the handlebars). Does anyone know how to do this? I'm using the MINI UPPER PART 2K version of the minifigure torso, if that matters. Here's a quick sketch of what I'm trying to achieve. The minifig torso is blue, the arms are green, the hands are orange and the handlebars are the grey part.
  5. MegaSphere - Atai by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr Atai is a spec ops trooper/android/whatever from upcoming randomly generated pixel-graphics platformer MegaSphere (http://store.steampowered.com/app/386340/).
  6. I have a really old version of LDD and I wanted more bricks. The version is: 2.3.20 and the brick set is: 38.25 I was hoping somebody could put together a brick extension of some sort. Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi, I'm Anduin1710 and I'm an AFOL from Germany. I was born in East Berlin, this means to get a little LEGO set was always like birthday, x-mas and eastern together! And Lego was always very expensive too. ... I started to buy and collecting Lego, since I found the Lego Minifiures Series 2. I'm very interessed in history, so I found the historical minifigures pritty cool. I like Star Wars too, so I stared to buy some Lego Star Wars sets. I found the Lego Digital Designer to creat my own MOCs on my computer. I'm a big THE LORD OF THE RINGS fan, so I started to build my own LOTR sets. And with the Lego LOTR and THE HOBBIT sets my dream come true. In April 2014 I joined Lego cuusoo (now it is lego ideas) to publish my creations. Here are my projects: You can also visit me on flickr. Thank you for your attention.
  8. flickr I have a hunch I'm pushing the limits on tastefulness of color combinations with this creation, but the intent was to blend alternate hues of Lego's staple hospital colors, red and white. And so without further ado, here's my attempt at a hospital in modular building scale, presented in perhaps not-so-glorious penicillin white, surgeon blue, and blood red: Front: Rear: Interior: Emergency: Recovery: Until next time~
  9. I used Lego Digital Designer (LDD) to model a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It features an opening hood (bonnet) and rear tailgate, a working V4 engine, and folding front seats. It uses 643 parts and has 216 steps in the LDD Building Guide. The LDD .lxf Building Instruction file is available for download via Rebrickable, or via SkyDrive here. I used the LDD to POV-RayTM Converter (LDD2PovRay) software for these sharp renders: The working V4 engine moves when the rear axle turns. You can see the Lego Technic elements used: The real vehicle looks like this (note that the camera created a slight "fisheye" effect and the proportions are distorted a tad): Here are some LDD screenprints of the 12-studs-wide, 35-studs-long, 9-2/3 bricks high model. One can see the slanted, folding seats and other details:
  10. Hi, i am trying to find a way to build a realistic redwood tree. But i find no way to build a realistic trunk, maybe someone has an advice? it should be round i found some pics in the net but i dont think they build it on the LDD is there someone who knows some tricks or a building instruction? please help me!
  11. Due to financial restrictions, I can't build real models as of yet, so LDD will have to do, I've made several things in the past but this is the first time I decided to showcase a model online Being an aviation fan, I decided to build an airliner using a combination of the big '<insert that tiresome argument>' parts for the cockpit and tail-cone and smaller parts for the wings and tailplane. It contains more details than you would get in a typical CITY set, it has obvious cockpit and passenger seating put it also contains separate first and economy (known as coach class in America), folding seat for a flight attendant, fully featured galley and a bathroom in the tail-cone (not pictured). Also not pictured is inverted roof pieces used to represent overhead compartments (although these make it difficult for minifigs to fit in comfortably) and clocks hanging from the ceiling in the aisle Constructive criticism is encouraged and accepted. 717.lxf
