1. This is a Class 3A ship. She is captained by Ching Shih. Previously: Recruiting at Marco's This Is Not the Wealthy Housing of Rassilon Falling Out with Foxx Cantu's Fort in Rassilon The Viper Jail Break! Cantu's House While Cantu was being robbed, Li Fang and his crew of miscreants were successfully defending a pirate convoy against the nefarious wiles of an Oleon privateer. The result was that Li Fang succeeded as a captain where his father had failed. He led his crew in the successful capture of a prize! The La Oleon was quite the prize. Some of the crew from The Viper switched ships to help bring it into port at Rassilon. In port more crew were hired to help man the new ship. Even though she was painted in Oleon's favorite blue, she flew the black proudly showing her new ownership. OoC: Please note that I did "recycle" much of my last ship to build this one. I changed the sloping on the sides of the hull, swapped the dark red tiles for blue, and changed the masts. As this was a ship I captured and not a "new" boat, I hope no one minds that I went this route. I don't plan on making this a habit, but with little time to build this month, I thought this would be an acceptable shortcut.
2. I present the 4115th Eslandolean Artillery Regiment under the command of Colonel Brickinson: These guys are tough - and hard to detect in their bright green uniforms. They are preparing to protect and defend Pontelli against all possible attackers. Colonel Brickinson is utterly determined! I wanted to show that the heavy guns have been moved across the grass but it doesn't come out so well on the pictures. The artillery battery has been fortified (with plans to build a stone defense in the near future). C&C Welcome.
3. Felipe de la Manzana, after an excellent trade run, (see here for more informations) sent a letter to Lord Smaugton in order to hire scientists to study the Ténotclaxcans myths and legends. He was still hoping to find a clue concerning the Golden Apple with these stories. It was also the occasion to meet and help a new MAESTRO fisherman who wanted to settle his activity in Cocovia, the Quinnsville island, because of the known abundance of Swordfish. Felipe head sail to Quinnsville. Arriving around Cocovia, he saw his new friend, Captain Santiago. His reputation of a lucky man was true as he was already at work to catch a splendid Marlin ! The fish fought well, but the two men in their bright new skiff, La Espada, managed to kill the Marlin. The fish was bound to a hook alongside the boat and brought to the port. Santiago was awared that sharks could be a threat and tryed to eat his catch. He protected his Marlin firing at those predators with his flintlock pistol. A game that he his good at... Seeing that fish party, Felipe was happy to see that MAESTRO's investment in La Espada of Captain Santiago was an excellent idea. He decided to meet the young lucky captain to help him develop his fishing wharf in Quinnsville, Cocovia. “Luck is a thing that comes in many forms and who can recognize her?” Ernest Hemingway, The old man and the sea. This little fishing boat is a Class 0 ship (Skiff) I am licensing with Captain Santiago in command. Of course, the fishing party and the captain name are an Homage to Hemingway text. Though, I decided to choose a younger captain for story purpose. I tryed another hull technique, but the sails are not custom sails, they are old official LEGO sails. I hope you will like this little skiff.
4. Update: Now the HMS Kite of the Corrington Royal Navy Try at least once finishing a single ship in a single day, it is fun (besides the rigging:P). The War Dwarf is a rather old war brig, brought here by the family of Monezterell brought it over from the old world as she was one of their best ships back then. Since then she had a general overhaul, as she was a bit outdated in comparision to many of the new ships that are and were being built. She may not be the fastest ship on the ocean, but she can keep pace with the majority of modern ships again. It is commanded by Captain Damian Chetham. Instead of writing more I would rather let pictures speak for me. War Dwarf, starboard side, also a general overview. starboard again, but this time a bit more close up, here you can see her broadside - 3 18 pound guns, 2 9 pound guns, as well as a swivel gun. This is mirrored on the other side. As well as that she has 2 permanent chase guns. Thats a total of 6 18 pound guns, 6 9 pound guns (the chase guns are 9 pounders too) and 2 swivel guns, a total of 14 guns. You should be able to see that there is a lot going on on board. Next we have a picture of her stern, as well as her portside. And lastly we have a picture straight at her bow, including the chase guns. Well, not exactly the last picture - there is also one together with the Wringe I and the unfished Green Winds. I'm unsure if I want to license her, I might put her up for sale - I could definetly use some more DBs:P Special thanks to Captain Green Hair for the hull building technique, it really helped. The rigging was painful (and is still far from perfect) though. Total of 12 hours spent building her. 4 of those on rigging and sails.

[ESL-FB5] Fields of Gold

Wheat Field: Saturday night, I feel the air is getting hot ... I'll start again: It is Saturday afternoon and Colonel Brickinson is paying an inspection visit to a Pontelli wheat plantation: He has come to meet with the supervisor of the field The golden field is in excellent shape ... and well-protected: Thanks for watching - and, btw. approvals from Sea Rats, Corrington and Oleon are very welcome (this being 5th free-build)
6. With the new found islands being invaded by Oleon, Corrington, and Eslandola en mass, a small group of a pirates settled on Isla del Diablo and starting preparing defenses to ensure no one else could lay claim to what was theirs. Built on the edge of the sand, close enough to shelter of the trees but also within view of the beaches. the pirate's fort was perfectly located.
7. Freebuild #3 March 2016 A Whale of a Tale Our pirate rats needed some whale oil lube but the whale would have none of that. The one that got away made for a tall tale at the tavern in Bastion. 8. Kings Port Advertiser and Ship List New Terra’s most reliable source for shipping news. February 616. VOL 1 ISSUE 2 Editor’s Column: We hope that every one of our regular readers is safe, unless they are a pirate, and in that case, we hope Hurricane Helga helped them meat Davey Jones. It has been a wild month in New Terra, the Civil War between our island and our mother country has grown larger, and more privateers are arriving here every day to harass Mardier’s shipping. Then, the unexpected Hurricane coming in from as far away as Berelli, many of those same privateers ended up wrecked! It was a bad month for shipping because of this, with an unusual amount of ships foundering in the high seas and many forced back to port without completing their trading. The other nations of the Madrice Peninsula have been busy! Corrington and Eslandola have claimed two newly discovered islands, while Oleon, Garvey, and even the Sea Rats have claimed one each! Rumor that more islands are being fought over at this moment! But you all are not reading this to hear about recent history; you want to know where to send your next ventures. Tips: This is the section where we include the juiciest morsels of shipping information that we have gleaned from the taverns of Terraversa, that and the vilest slander and lies a pirate could tell! Use these tips at your own risk! MAESTRO Destroyed! The almost famous Green Viking Trade route met an infamous end rather quickly this month. Rumor has it that the small squadron sailed straight into Hurricane Helga, when the Knight of Stedor was lost in the swell. Fleeing the winds, La Defensora had to fight off a pirate boarding at high seas, but made it to New Terelli and made a profit. Unfortunately the Wringe I and its escort, The Fallen Angel met up with the infamous pirate Zublious Van Wreck. The two vessels were last seen manned by prize crews on their way to the Nest of Thieves. We can only assume that this is the end for the young trading company. We expect stocks in the MCTC to sky rocket now that their chief competitor is crushed. We think that Elysabethtown will be sold to MAESTRO’s creditors, and once again the price on Apples will come back down to normal rates now that the company’s reign of terror in the fruit market is over! Hurricane Helga claims much of the merchant fleet! Besides the Knight of Stedor, Helga’s destruction of the merchant marine of New Terra has been devastated. Notable ships amongst the list: Poseidon’s Wrath, The Mercator, and The Red Dragon, we have no word of their crews. Those ships effected by Helga in other ways included The Sphinx, the Stubborn Stern, The Valkyrie, and the Black Marlin. Some of those vessels were lucky to make a small profit, others were forced back to their original port. Bad Weather in the southern regions of the Sea of Storms and Terraversa Sea! It is thought that with one hurricane, a second always follows. A witch doctor from Berelli has reported that they have seen the second, much more devastating hurricane in their divining drinks. This Hurricane, which will bring fourth their version of Poseidon, shall strike the waters of New Terra later this month. Stay north! The King of Oleon desires shrimp wine. From Granoleon we are hearing that the King has a condition that leaves his desire for shrimp wine simply unsatiated. Shrimp wine, that nasty juice priests use in rituals, is a rare commodity, especially when its main ingredient, the shrimp grape only grows in the tropics. Perhaps some entrepreneurial souls will take on the task to quench the king’s thirst? The Queen still desires Bananas! With her pregnancy causing all sort of problems, one thing remains constant, The Queen of Corrington’s desire for Bananas. Luckily, Terraversa is full of such wonderful delights. An enterprising merchant may find a tidy profit in a quick run between this island and Belson. But I wouldn’t stop anywhere in between, the Queen in hungry and Bananas do not stay ripe forever! Letter to the Editor from Sir Richark Star, of Corrington. Dear Fool, Her Majesty, Queen Annetta, is in perfect health, without child. Her purity is a model for any man or woman of this world. Her love for humanity and her subjects knows no end, and she has no time for courting at this moment. Corrington grows faster and stronger every day, and the Queen has a few years before she needs to be thinking about an heir. Her time is spent strategizing the best way to crush Oleon and dispensing judgment against those like you who personally attack her. If you ever step foot on Corrington soil, prepare to duel! Our response: It looks like we have found the father of the Crown Prince or Princess. Corrington Ship caught twice, not so lucky the second time! The famed Merry Lyric convoy, the richest of all convoys, came under heavy attack this month, with ships turning back in the midst of a hurricane; those who trudged on were target of numerous pirates. For some reason the Sphinx found itself in trouble more than once, each time the HMS Mermaid came to its rescue. The First time, against the Garvey Privateer The Wisper. The Mermaid was boarded and captured, and then crewed with a prize crew right away. The two ships fought against the convoy’s other two escorts, the HMS Bull Shark and HMS Pandora. The Pandora took down the privateer, and the Bull Shark caught, boarded, and retook the Mermaid. But that was not all the action, later on near Terraversa, the pirate “Friends Forever” attacked the Sphinx again, the Mermaid came to protect her, but surrendered after receiving a few heavy broadsides from Friends Forever. She struck her colors, and before the Bull Shark could catch her again, she slipped away in the night. Pandora was able to subdue the Friends Forever with a few broadsides and brought her into New Terrelli. If you are part of the Corrington Navy, you must have to wonder about Captain Jack Tallyand’s ability to command – losing the ship twice, and now a prisoner, most likely in Bastion, he probably isn’t getting a seat at the admiralty board anytime soon. If you are an Oleander, you probably thought this was the logical outcome for a Corlander warship. 9. Captain Burt Wolfson could not believe it. He just stepped on the pier of Nova Terreli and already the Eslandolan merchants were overbidding each other for the load of the Eliza.
10. Most foreigners think of Oleon's temples as dark, mysterious places built for solemn ceremonies and ancient rituals. Nothing could be further from the truth. Almost every joyous occasion in an Oleander's life, from birth to coming of age and marriage is celebrated within these sacred halls. Even minor successes, such as a recovery from illness or safe arrival following a long voyage brings Oleanders to temples, which makes the temples more than just a place of worship. They are a focal point in many cities, places where friends and acquaintances meet, either by appointment or chance. As such, Captain Anthony Genaro was not overly surprised when, while walking through the courtyard of Breshaun's main temple, he heard a voice cry out "Captain, Captain Genaro!" Turning, Genaro saw what most landsmen would call a landshark, a fellow who preys on the ignorant sailor, but to Genaro he was simply Mister Harold Kimber, a bright entrepreneur with a mining method that could extract silver seemingly out of thin air. "Give you joy on a successful voyage" exclaimed Harold Kimber, "and give you even greater joy on your mine." "Thank you Mr. Kimber," replied Genaro "but what is this about the mine? I thought I departed without signing all the necessary papers?" Kimber looked startled "did you not get my message, no, of course not, the hurricane must have blown the mail ships off course. No, well, what I wrote in the letter is that your friend, Captain Leon, put up your portion of the investment. He was thoroughly convinced that you'll pay him back, and when he heard the we struck silver, he insisted that we not forget you." At this, Genaro gave a hearty laugh and silently reminded himself to buy a good brandy, Leon's favorite drink. After a moment of silent reflection on his new found luck, Genaro turned to Kimber and asked "and how much have you extracted so far?" At this, Kimber became uneasy. "All the equipment, the tunnels, and the buildings are in place, but we can't actually sell the ore just yet. You see, we've had some trouble obtaining a license, someone in the administration is convinced I'm a thieving rake, a landshark even, while Captain Leon would hardly do, given the incident between him and the assistant governor in Breshaun." Of course, thought Genaro to himself, smiling as he remembered the event. "But we were hoping a man of your influence could succeed in getting the license in no time." "Certainly," cried Genaro "there isn't a moment to loose, I'll go to the offices directly and demand the license, after all, we have paid for it, and I'll be darned if some blasted civilian, some administrator is going to stand between me and my fortune!" 11. Freebuild #2 Mar 2016 Great Scott! The White Skull captured a 3A ship in the last MRCA. The ship is called the Great Scott. Presenting my MOC of the captured ship to make use of the license. 12. This is my third freebuild of the month. If you're not one of the Sea Rats and you like the build please (And don't forget to state your allegiance). Previously... Breaking Out Complications Next... A Planning Session Finally back aboard the Bleak Angel, Captain Dracken calls his first mate, Alastair Jakes, and helmswoman Liliana Vespwood to his cabin to discuss the next move. And, of course, where Liliana goes, Althea goes too. Inside, Althea picks up a small native idol and sits on the Captain's bed while the others gather around a table full of charts. “It's all very impressive,” Jakes says, “but where is it leading?” “Have you heard of Oedon Black?” Dracken asks. “Can't say I have, Cap'n.” “Well,” Dracken begins, “some time ago Oedon Black was a rather well known trader in certain circles...” “And,” Liliana interrupts, “by trader you mean smuggler.” “Only some of the time,” Dracken explains, “but yes, Mister Black did quite a bit of smuggling. Made a fair amount on trading outlawed texts, tomes and artefacts in Oleon.” “Sounds like Mister Drave,” Liliana states, “but since you're using the past tense am I correct to presume Black is no longer with us?” “Correct,” Dracken says flatly, “the authorities caught up with him and, for his crimes, executed him. Sky burial, or so I heard. Wouldn't even let his soul rest in Hades. However, Oedon Black knew better than to store his wares somewhere the Faith could find them.” A voice rose from behind the trio. “You mean the Heretic's Hoard, don't you?” Althea asked. “I do indeed,” Dracken responds, “I already had the key before our misadventure on LeBellan. Now I have the last map we need to find it.” “Let's get to work, then.” Jakes says.
13. Previously Complications The drawback of having to escape from an Oleonder fortress is that, afterwards, you are still on Oleon soil... ...with the Navy's marines chasing after you through the streets as you try to find your contact... ...who may have noticed the commotion you have caused and is waiting in ambush… ...or may just be keeping herself from getting caught up in the mayhem… And this would be where the sunlight suddenly disappeared and the lighting suddenly became significantly less than great. Although one saving grace was that the blueish tint and heavy shadows did make the scene look a little more like night time, following on from the black backdrop in "Breaking Out". Sadly today I did not have access to my partner's photography set up, so all the pictures today were taken in my living room with our high megapixel phone cameras.
14. MRCA build of the Feb. MRCA results Captain log, Bastion, star date 3-616. Today we received our copy of the latest Kings Ports Advertiser and Ship List. It is reported in the paper that the White Skull had saved the Le Dindon from a pirate attack. Le Dindon arrived safely at port with all her cargo intact. We found an artist rendition in the paper of the White Skull protecting Le Dindon from attack and fighting off the pirates. It appears that something was lost in the translation to the paper's outsourced graphics department. It is also reported that the White Skull had later captured a pirate ship. It was rumoured the crew surrender expediently after Susieh Cheng dispatched their captain to shark bait status. We are looking forward to the return of Susieh with her booty.
15. I need a bigger ship, the Wringe II just doesn't cut it. Due to this, I've decided that I'll get my shipbuilders to build a bigger ship for me. And they've succeded again! This ship is a class 3T2, a large sloop which will be a ship shared with MAESTRO and members. Her captain is Captian Nard Klein Veegevuur. So, lets see how she looks like: Lets also see her stern: And also sailing with the wind; the mast is not tipping over, thats just the perspective:P Lastly we have a size comparision with the Wringe II, as I feel like thats necessery. If you want more size comparision shots with different ships just ask;) 10 Shares:
16. March Freebuild 1 Can't MRCA without guns? Sweating under armed? That's why Bastion has an arms dealer in a totally non descript white building peddling his ware to whomever can pay. Patrons are not required to show ID or fill out any government forms or submit to background checks. He likes to be called "George". "George" has a fine selection of muskets, pistols, cutlasses, dueling swords, barrels of gunpowder and even body armour for sale. Right now, he has a spring break special. If you buy three, you get a free night at the Bastion's House of Pleasure. Don't miss out on this limited time fabulous offer. Just look for a plain white building down the street from the House of Pleasure. All sales are final and tax free.
17. News of the music fair in Bardo have reached the shores of the Sea Rats Bastion. A couple of musically inclined pirates thought it would be fun and journeyed to Bardo to enter the contest. After they signed the contest entry form, they found out the hard way that Eslandola treated music differently than the Sea Rats. The MCTC music licensing fees had put them into the red. 18. Captain Log, Day 59 : We start our run with an overload of apples and cider from our first production in Berelli and, in order to maintain our good relationships with Corrington, we joined one of their run. This Coyle Shipping Company seems to be a reliable and trustful partner, so I totally agreed to follow their lead. Day 60 : We were strongly hit by a hurricane ! The winds are terrible ! Hopefully, I saw it come in time and my crew managed to stabilize the ship in this storm. We have lost our road and no sign of our escort nor the Mercator, the Corry ship that was with us. I am afraid that the corries didn't passed the hurricane... Day 63 : We recovered our escort warship but still no sign of the Mercator. I am afraid they are lost... Day 65 : At last ! We made land in Belson. My concerns about the Mercator are proved to be true. The place reserved for this ship sharing our quay stayed desesperately empty. We started to unload our cargo in the Corrington Capital when a man head towards me and asked me to help him. He was the client the Mercator should have delivered but the ship did not reach port in Belson. He asked if he could buy us our surplus ! Of course I agreed to sell him in a totally "honest" price. It seems that Belson will not lack of Apples and Cider this month... La Raenette at quay, unloading cargo. A "honest" price... While he was in Belson, Felipe took the occasion to send a letter to his corlander friend and MAESTRO member, Sir Thomas Smaugton : "My dear friend, As you probably know, MAESTRO encountered a native tribe named the Ténotclaxcans. They are friendly but have strange habits and myths they are not ready to share with us easily. I am sending this letter to ask you some help. I know your interest in science, and specially in anthropology. So, I am asking you if you could recommend me some scientific experts in order to meet with me and my first officer the natives in order to learn their secrets. It is possible we have a hint concerning a mythical fruit I am trying to find. I learned you were founding a settlement in the new Cocovia. Is it possible for me to go there and meet the scientists in Quinnsville ? (I have a friend fisherman of MAESTRO that is interested in your fishy bays, I will lead him to your colony in the same occasion.) Friendly yours, Felipe de la Manzana."

[OL - MCRA] Exterminate!

Ahoy, mateys! Fasten seatbelts, 'cause this time it's more than just kind of a likely story March, 616. During her recent trade voyage, 'La Recouvrance' made excellent business in the ports along her route. But as fortunate as this was for her owners, she would have almost also sealed her doom. Few things in these waters manage to travel faster than 'La Recouvrance', and it turned out that 'news' about potential prey does fall in that category. On her journey home notorious pirate Val Gibbons and his 'Roach' lied in wait. And he wasn't the only one: When 'La Recouvrance's escort - the mighty 'HRS Granoleon' - engaged another pirate vessel, the 'Roach' moved to intercept. On a fast warship as the 'Roach', chances for Gibbons were good to catch up with 'La Recouvrance' and seize her before her escort could intervene. What he did not consider, however, was the determination of Oleander gun crews and Royal Marines, as they made short work of the first attacking pirate, and now arrived just in time to - exterminate the 'Roach'. And the ships only: All three ships can be build, and designing them was tons of fun. I tried to represent the classifications for the 'HRS Granoleon' (Class 5 Heavy A) and the 'Roach' (Class 5 Light A) as close as possible, even the gun count should work out. The 'sea' is quite a large area (67 32x32 baseplates ), heavily draining my PC's recources. But no crash, so yeah, almost as fortunate as 'La Recouvrance' I hope you enjoyed this little story and these little ships, thanks for watching. C&C welcome! Vive le Roi!
20. With thanks to KolonialBeamter for suggesting I use rendering software to improve the presentation of my LDD based builds. One of the greatest dangers of fledgling settlements is the threat of raids, be it less scrupulous Sea Rats, other nations, or even the natives. When the first settlers arrived on Isla del Diablo they tried to establish a proper defense for the town. Roland Blaze, captain of the Crimson Marauder, offered his heavily damaged ship to form the basis and provide materials for the first fortress. In honour of this, the settlers refer to the building as Fort Crimson.
21. One of these ships is the "Corland Provider" under the command of Captain Trevor Wolfson:
22. By Sea - Ships and The Monthly Raiding and Commerce Action in the EGS The Age of Sail was mostly about one thing – profit. Those willing to take what the Sea would give them, those willing to haul the bounty of new lands, and those willing to take it from others. In BoBS, a critical part of the game and the storylines is about wealth generation, legal or not. Remember, you can build whatever you want that fits into the theme of BoBS. You do not have to play within the game system if you do not want to! Your stories and builds will still be part of the project! What follows is the rules for the game mechanic that allows builders' ships to make money at sea and in some cases, crush their enemies. It should be noted that all of the mechanisms described below are separate from conflict resolutions or other combat. Note: The MRCA v.2 will be launched shortly. Master Index Licensing Ships (This post) Participating in the MRCA The Ship License Form Example Cruise Licensing Ships To buy a license for a ship, you pay your faction a fee, using the ship license form. All licenses must have a MOC attached to them in order to use that licensed ship in the MCRA. You can build the MOC first, then apply for the license once you have enough DBs to do so. If a builder has no ship licenses larger than a Class 1, he/she is always entitled to a single Class 1-2 license (even if a previous free license ship has been lost). If a vessel is destroyed, we encourage builders to MOC a new vessel for the next license. However, we know that that could be time-consuming, so you can attach a new license to an old MOC that was licensed previously even if it has been long disassembled. Do give your ship a new name though. We can assume that your character(s) went to the old shipwright and bought a sister ship. When MOCing a vessel to fit a license, we highly encourage that builders try to MOC according the characteristics of the ship they are trying to license. Because ship MOCs do not have to stay intact, most people with a fledgling pirate collection should be able to MOC the small and medium sized categories multiple times over. The leadership will consider micro-builds for ships of larger sizes on a case by case basis. Sea Rats only pay 70% of a ship license. Cost Multiplier After 3 licensed ships, the cost of a license goes up. The current maximum of licensed vessels one person can have is 12. Un-licensing Ships You may un-license a ship at any time through the ship licensing form. If you wish to re-license an un-licensed ship, you must pay the original amount (subject to the cost multiplier). Up-licensing Ships If you don't have the DBs available, you may choose to temporarily under license your ship. To upgrade, you must pay the difference. Use the Ship Upgrade form to do so (coming soon). When posting your ship, you must state the licence to which you intend to upgrade it later on. Captured Ships If you capture a NPC ship (one that does not belong to another player) you must MOC that ship before you can take advantage of the license. After having MOCed it, you must fill out the ship license form before using the ship. If you capture a ship belonging to another player, you may use it whenever. If you capture a ship and already own three or more ships, you must pay difference between the original license and the cost multiplier before you can use it. You may sell a captured ship without MOCing it or paying the cost multiplier. If it has not been MOCed, you must of course inform potential buyers of this fact. When a NPC pirate ship captures a PC warship, the warship will not be auctioned. In the case of all other ships captured by NPC pirates, they will be auctioned. When a NPC privateer ship captures a PC ship and war has not been declared between the respective nations, the case will be brought before the courts of the privateer's home nation and resolved by volunteers via a build off (see the Conflict Resolution rules). When a ship labeled "Unknown" captures a builder's vessel, the builder may post a build that throws blame on some NPC privateer (this can be a MRCA result build). A disinterested leader will determine by the roll of a die (1/3 favorable probability) whether or not the build is accurate. If the roll is favorable, the builder will proceed to a build-off with the implicated nation (see above). To take advantage of this possibility, the build casting blame must occur in the same month of the capture (i.e. if the MRCA was the February MRCA, the build must occur in March, and the build-off, if applicable, will occur in April). If a builder's last Class 1 or 2 ship is captured by a NPC and the builder has no larger ships, he is entitled to a free license and will be given the opportunity to retrieve his ship without action being taken concerning it (as above). Buying Ships You may buy ships from other players. To pay the other player, you must fill out a transaction form. If the ship was a captured ship and has not yet been MOCed, you must MOC it before you can use it. You must fill out the ship license form for any ship(s) you buy. No DBs will be subtracted, except in the case of the cost multiplier. Ships bought from another player are subject to the cost multiplier. Prize Court See here for more details. Independent Contractors Sea Rats (and only Sea Rats) can call upon an independent contractor for help with a piratical mission. At the cost of 1/5th of the profit, a Sea Rat can hire a randomly rolled 1-3A vessel to tag along. For 3/5ths of the profit, a Sea Rat can hire a randomly rolled 4A-5HA vessel to tag along. Independent contractor ships may be used as escorts or predators. All players sailing in conjunction with an independent contractor must give up 1/5 or 3/5s of their share (as applicable). Ship Characteristics Speed (S): This dictates how many ports a ship can visit during a Trade Run, and how likely your ship is to escape when being chased. Guns (G): This is the ship’s attack and defense characteristic. Roughly, one G rating equals 4 guns. Your MOC should conceivably be able to hold the amount of guns that your license entails. Creative license is allowed here of course. Crew ©: This is the amount of men on your ship, and in a boarding action they will be relied upon. Roughly, one C equals 5 men. A 0 crew is the captain and a few choice men. Creative license is allowed here of course. Cargo ($): This is the space the ship has for hauling goods. One $ allows the vessel to carry 10% of the total trade value of a settlement. Hull (H): This is the strength of the vessel. The Hull statistic is only used in raiding and attacking fortresses, or in special circumstances between warships. Possible Opponents (PO): This is the number that a ship can fight in one battle. Escorts need high PO or more escorts will be needed when fighting off groups of attackers.

24. Update: The Wringe I has been taken by the Sea Rats. It got replaced by the Wringe II, which has been painted differently. The new Captian is Valerio D'Obarno. I am Jerome Monezterell and here is my first ship - The Wringe I. It is a fast cutter that has a bit of storage space, so she'll be registered as a class 2F. It is commanded by Jones DeRoy (the guy with the dark green Epaulettes) who is one of my most trustworthy men. It is not armed; I'll trust the escorting ships. I guess I'll just go on with pictures: Swapping load while on sea Sailing off I'm just trying through different types of hull techniques, if anyone has other suggestions besides the hull techniques by Captain Green Hair, Sebeus I and CB4 I would really appreciate those, as I don't feel like I want to go further with this technique as it seems a bit to flat to me. Edit 5th March 616: She has been captured by the Sea Rats. The crew is drifting around the ocean on a raft.
25. This is my fifth free build of the month, so approvals and critiques are most welcome. * * * It had been some time since Captain Cornelius Reyngout had spent any time back on the mainland, but he had been summoned to Terreli. After meeting with Guy Wyndzon, he had his orders. Reyngout departed the MCTC headquarters, out into the busy street, and headed for the docks. The MCTC had acquired a ship that had been decommissioned from the Eslandola navy. She was a beautiful ship, but of an earlier generation, and the time for her military service had come and gone. But she was of solid construction and had many years of service left in her, if she could find the right service. And the MCTC thought she was perfect for the merchant service. Now completely refurbished, the Heart of Eslandia would sail again. Cleared of the extra guns and large crew of a warship, she now sported a large cargo hold, 5 guns in each broadside (and could add two chasers to the bow if needed), and was one of the speediest ships around. Reyngout thought her name very appropriate, as trade was the lifeblood of Eslandola, and the ship still sported its blood-red sails from its fighting days. And the name Eslandia referenced the historic tone poem dedicated to the Eslandolan ideal. Capt. Reyngout’s orders were to take her to the Eslandolan colonies, display the pride of the MCTC merchant fleet, and drum up financial support from MCTC members so that she may be licensed and enter revenue service next month. Bow detail: Stern decoration retained from her fighting days: Some detail shots of the cleared decks:
