  2. Hello everyone I think my layout is now at a stage that I can present it as a whole to the community. As you will see I have still some space to expand it and there are quite a few buildings that I wish to rebuild/redesign to make them better. My layout has a classic 80/90 inspiration and that's why most of the new sets I have are from the creator/expert line. here it is a video showing the whole layout with the trains and the new ferris wheel motorised: As you can notice from the video, since I love trains, a large parte of the table is covered by rails. There are three stations. 1) Legoland C.le (C.le stands for Centrale in italian, the main station) 2) another smaller station, located on the sea-side and near the vulcano called Lego Ville: and another station that serves the airport: The town centre of Legoland features a square with a Market, a Pizzeria, and a Carrousel, the ruins of ancient abbey, always crowded by visitors, the town-hall (the yellow-brown building) and - of course - a police station: There is a residential area, which is mostly restaurant and country-side with a small beach: The main Harbour of the town, with a bridge for the trains, and a restaurant in an ancient mill: Finally there is the city area, with two main tall buildings: well, there are more ideas to develop my city but I want to hear what do you think so far
  3. In order to make room for the future home of the Godwins Hollow Regional Airport we had to get most of our planes in the air. Since tossing them back and forth didn't turn put to be a long term solution we decided it was better to try and hang them up. We still have a three man flight of the Agents' jets to hang but everything else that is going up is in the air. Pics are below or you check them all out here.

  5. We (myself and teen aged kids) are wrapping up the bulk of the airport area of our city, so I thought I would post some pics. This has been a really fun project. We put a lot of thought into it and I think it turned out nice and is very playable yet as realistic as possible. So here goes: Overall shot of new runway. The wall has the gray tiles so we cleaned them out. We added the approach lighting and bearing markings with white tiles and flat clear and red pieces. While this is not exactly to FAA standards, we thought the detail of the markings would look nicer especially since we have no room for the actual lighting in advance of the runway. Here you can see the fire station area and general aviation area. We would like to add a hanger and fire station structure in the future. overall shot showing the runway, tower and gen aviation area is secure. Here is the commercial terminal area. It's a bit crowded, but we used the space as efficiently as possible. The jetway moves and extends. Main entrance to terminal. The parking garage is right next door. Here you can see the airport monorail station is just on the other side of the rail road bridges. The terminal has all the stuff a terminal should have, ticketing, screening, baggage check, seating. The top floor of the garage has been converted to a heliport. But there is a large surface parking lot behind the garage, so still plenty of parking Here are some more pics of the airport and a few of how it ties into the rest of the city. You can drive to the airport from downtown, but it's a long drive through the suburban and industrial areas to get there or you can take transit and it's one stop across the bay. Hope you enjoy the photos. Comments welcome, we are always looking for improvements. Thanks!
  6. Hi all, I hope I chose the correct section, but I didn't know where to post it. This early morning, I accompanied my parents to take the flight back to Italy, and I found this wonderful set exposed in the airport in Prague (terminal 2 - Schengen area). Does anybody know where to find the author(s) of it, and where to gater additional information and/or better photos (mine are taken with a sleepy hand at 4 in the morning, with a smartphone)? More photos on the Photobucket album I made for it (I didn't want to add 38 links here): http://s382.photobuc.../Prague Airport

    Runway lights

I built an airport runway and want to add lights to it. What color should they be, and how far apart?
  8. Hi all, this is my second take on this iconic truck of the seventies, see http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=60500 Because of the Jumbo Jets larger and more powerful Crash Tenders were needed also on European airports. One of the monsters of that time is this 8x8 ARFF, built on a Faun base with coachwork and firefighting equipment by Metz, propelled by a tank motor with 1.000 HP. The truck is very known in Germany because of the famous die-cast model by SIKU, which was owned by many German boys. The original model has been overworked several times, but as a 10w vehicle it was much too wide for the actual purposes. And since airport stuff becomes more important with the LCS and moving planes on an airfield it was the right time to rebuild the Faun. Some specs: 8w, equipped with a 9 Volt Light & Sound battery box and three flashing blue lights. Fits two whole firefigs with helmets. 100% Lego. Another perspective: The 9 Volt battery box can be taken off to change the battery: First pic is courtesy of Martin Bopp, whom I owe a big thank. Thanks for looking!

    Review: 60019 Stunt Plane

This is my first review, so feel free to offer advice and/or (constructive) criticism. Growing up, I had a "brick bucket" but few actual Lego sets. One of the only sets i remember having was the "Eagle Stunt Flyer", which at some point was "borrowed" by my younger brother, and half the pieces were never to be seen again... This set feels like something of a spiritual successor to that set, with the addition of the ground support vehicle thrown in: Back view of packaging: Bags and manuals: bag 1 is the ground cart and mechanic figure, bag 2 is the plane itself. Bag 1 assembled: With driver and toolchest together. I find it somewhat odd that it has the driver driving in a standing position; I think it would have been better to include a seat or something: I didn't like the single offset beacon, so I added a second orange cone from my spare parts bin for symmetry: The plane itself. I must say, this really captures the look of a modern stunt plane, with the large engine "scoop", the bubble canopy, and the use of bright colors and eye-catching patterns. The pilot minifig is excellent as well, with his mirrored sunglasses and pilot's uniform. With the pilot at the controls: Overall, I'd give the set a 9/10: it may be a bit bare-bones, but overall it does what it has to do, and at only $20, it's quite a bargain by Lego price standards. Other than a few niggles with the cart, I can see the set providing hours of fun, as the plane is an inherently whooshable design and so far it holds together well through sharp maneuvers (I had to test fly it after all ). I know some people don't like stickers, but here the stickers aren't excessive and they're easy to place.

    MOC: Airport Control Tower

Hello everyone! My newest MOC is a minifig scaleg airport control tower! I enjoyed buildig it, hope you like it, too! The tower has 3 floors and detailed interior. On the first floor there is a kitchen with a fridge, a coffee maker, a sink, food and a frying pan in it.On the second floor we can find a fire extinguisher, a washbasin and a clean toilet with toilet paper. And on the top of the tower there is the control room! There are 7 chairs and tables in this room for the employees, 6 tables for the operators with tehephones, computers, radios, radar screens and red and yellow mugs, and 1 for the boss with a computer and drawers. There are two binoculars and a fire-extinguisher here, too. This octagon is not exact. First time it moved easily, so I used gray L elements on two side (up and down), and dark grey tiles on the other two sides (left and right) to make it stable. The angles are a little bit more or less, than 45 degrees. This floor is kept by 8 blue technic pins in position. There are the roof's parts and its construction on next pictures. It was difficult, bacause the distance of the octagon's sides is longer than X studs, but shorter, than X+1 studs. Bars can slide in the holes of the small white round plates, and that dark gray L elements helps, too. This pictures show the ladders between the floors. This pictures show, how it is possible to remove the control room. You have to remove firs the window of the toilet, then push the room. Please support the bus on Cuusoo, which transports the tourists to the airport: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/32505 Thanks for watching!

    MOC: Transit / Airport Shuttle

Just thought I'd show you guys one of my newest little MOCs: a Transit shuttle. This shuttle has multiple uses in various cities/towns across the world. Most popular include transit and airport services. It also is one of my first MOCs to be completely pre-designed using LDD. Here's a YT video showing some features.
