    Husi

This moc was made for jakes_brick_hoard's 1k Contest and depicts a reimagining of the rahi Husi found commonly in Po Wahi. If you guys enjoy what I make, visit my flickr and instagram pages! Flickr Page: awesomenessborn Instagram: awesomenessborn

    Po-Scorpio Gigantis

Oh I just learned this will be my 100th post. This is also my second MOC Here.I am still getting used to my new camera so I'm sorry if the photos aren't the best. Once again I appreciate all feedback. Here Is Po-Scorpio IMG_20190129_131716946 by Dark Maste, on Flickr Po-Scorpio is a giant species of omnivorous Scorpio Rahi that inhabits the central arid regions. It is territorial and aggressive beware all Toa who cross it's path though it's slower mind might allow you to out smart the beast. Here is a close up of it's face IMG_20190129_132210360 by Dark Maste, on Flickr The Beast attacks with pincers and a fearsome tail with poison laced stings and claws. IMG_20190129_132217447 by Dark Maste, on Flickr IMG_20190129_143940116 by Dark Maste, on Flickr The Po-Scorpio generally skitters upon four pairs of legs. One small and lanky and a second which is larger. IMG_20190129_143955552 by Dark Maste, on Flickr But Like a bear the Po-Scorpio can rear up on the back of it's stinger tail, like a third leg. It's legs also work together to help support it's body IMG_20190129_132028725 by Dark Maste, on Flickr IMG_20190129_132037401 by Dark Maste, on Flickr Here is a size comparison between It in both of it's pose compared to one of the few Gen 2 sets I haven't taken apart for Mocs. I's environment is hostile of living however, so habitat loss isn't much of a threat as it is to the massive Pachyderm. IMG_20190129_132817783 by Dark Maste, on Flickr

    Mammut-Kal Imperator

Okay This is my first M.O.C. posted here. And these are the first pictures taken with my new camera with a new white background. So if the photos aren't perfect please forgive me. As always feedback is appreciated on that and my M.O.C. Here is Mammut-Kal imperator. MammutKal by Dark Maste, on Flickr A fearsome beasts that roams the wild lands to the north. If you don't get stomped you'll be impaled on his horns! His green eyes has seen much from his long life. In it's mind is wisdom beyond that of civilized men. mammoth_moc 3 by Dark Maste, on Flickr His Trunk has great articulation and a thorn at the end for either spiking enemies or swatting them away, horses and all. mammoth_moc 4 by Dark Maste, on Flickr Here is a body shot displaying his compact form and small ears perfected for it's snowy home. mammoth_moc 5 by Dark Maste, on Flickr And a size comparison with a Stone Army Scout: mammoth_moc 6 by Dark Maste, on Flickr The Mammut-Kal is no easy hunt for it can easily grab a hunter and slam him on the ground... Though if you're indestrcutable that might not hurt too bad.. mammoth_moc 7 by Dark Maste, on Flickr Unfortunately this race of beasts is rare and dying out. The building of cities destroys precious grassland environments for Mammut-kals, Which need large areas to herd, eat, and live. Illegal hunting has taken a toll as well. Their horns while comparatively small, are the hardest and purest ivory. And because of this many are slaughtered each year. Though many die while doing so. Would you save them or let them die? mammoth_moc 8 by Dark Maste, on Flickr
  4. Pikotu Beetles are small, hungry insectoid rahi found in the dampest places of Le-Wahi. They are most numerous in the Lake Pala area just south of the Tren Krom break, and the Fau Swamp near Kini-Nui. They eat spongy vegetation such as vines and leaves, and love the humid, fresh water areas they live near. Some have a ram-like protrusion from their head, others have a large, horn-like claw. They use these for defense against predators such as brakas and hoi turtles. Click the image for HQ boxart. Full render "Male" (Blue) Full render "Female" (Black) Full render back view (closed) Full render back view (open) Comments and critique welcome. This larger MOC uses parts from pre-2004, some color exceptions were made. The MOC itself has a unique function to unleash it's wings as you lift the elytra. The gear function is fairly simple, and isn't very ergonomic. I originally wanted to make a button feature, but everything collided with the head. The two separate models have almost the same number of parts, the blue one having a single extra piece. I think these are some of my favorite MOCs I've done, even if the function isn't very ergonomic. I hope you enjoy this MOC and the future MOCs I create.
  5. The Krikuva Mantis is a small, stealthy insect rahi with powerful arms that snatch up prey. They hobble along vines and branches in Le-Wahi's vast jungle, searching for easy prey. Friendly to larger creatures such as matoran, but if threatened, they'll lash out. They shed their armor to brighter colors as they live their lives, from dark greens to vibrant blues or even bright pinks. Click the image for HQ boxart. Full render Green Full render Blue Full render back view GIF of function Comments and critique welcome. This larger MOC uses parts from pre-2004, some color exceptions were made. The MOC itself has a unique function to bring out it's arms and snatch away masks from Toa and other small objects. This is all done from the back gear. This model was also going to have a function where the elytra in the back unfold as wings, but I felt it would make the MOC rickety and awkward to hold. I do, however, have a MOC coming up that uses the design I intended. Masks are supposed to go over the colored heads for eyes. The masks would be clear-cast resin Rau masks, and with the colored heads, it would look like glossy bug eyes. I hope you enjoy this MOC and the future MOCs I create.
  6. The Motma Lizard, a speedy lizard found in Po-Wahi's canyons and straights. They can reach a speed of 2.3 kio an hour, an impressive rate for a medium-sized rahi. On occasion they can be seen in damp caves resting, but they prefer being out in the heat of the desert. Click the image for HQ boxart. Full render Red Full render Tropical Full render side view Comments and critique welcome. This is a relatively small MOC, and contains parts only from pre-2004. The MOC itself does have a function, however, it is very simple. When rolling it across the ground using the wheels on it's front and back segment, the arms move up and down to visually express movement. I hope you enjoy the first of many of my MOCs.

    [MOC] Skull Captain

“A notorious Pirate captain that terrorizes the coasts of Okoto with his band of Skull swashbucklers. Skull Captain sails the seas aboard the Flying Clutchman. Legend has it his continuous raids are rooted in a seemingly endless search for his right arm. An arm he lost on an adventure a long time ago…” This is a reimagining of the Skull Villain concept from 2015. In this version, I stuck more to their roots as pirates. Most of this was an excuse to make a sweet parrot/monkey rahi sidekick.

    MOC: "Rahi Rex" (Working name)

I did a T. Rex-based theropod dinosaur Rahi a while back, but I guess I never got around to posting it. I photographed it today for posterity before I broke it up for parts. I designed it with the idea of fitting in with the original Rahi sets. It has a mask that can be knocked off, and a rubber band-powered attack function (pull the lever for an arm to wind up a slash, then release to strike). I'm going to see if I can recreate it in LDD or an LDraw client, with an actual planned color scheme and a Spinosaurus-based counterpart (to further match the Year 1 Rahi sets), and I hope to recreate it for real someday.
  10. Combiner models need more love and the transparent blue elements from Kopaka and Gali plus Kopaka's ice sword elements cried out for an ice dragon rahi. I also experimented with the new gearbox and leftover parts and ended up with a golden ice scarab with nice gear-powered movement. What do you think? More photos here.
  11. Katryna and BOB (Big Okotoan Beast) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr So, after a whole month after the first WIP, this MOC is finally finished! Meet BOB, a bull-like Rahi creature with more strength and bulk than any other creature. BOB weighs over 1.8kg and comprises of close to 800 pieces, over 200 inside the CCBS frame to fill it out alone. BOB (Big Okotoan Beast) by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr BOB's rider is Katryna, a female panther anthropomorph from a distant land who tamed and befriended BOB, something the villagers of Okoto tried (and failed) to do. Katryna prowls Okoto, travelling wherever she thinks she's needed, whether it's helping a Toa recover their Golden Mask or assisting the Dark Hunters. She doesn't make friends and she doesn't take sides. One minute, Katryna is the Toa's greatest ally. The next, she could be their worst enemy. Katryna by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Full gallery can be found here. Comments, constructive criticism and the like appreciated. I had a lot of fun constructing Katryna, my first attempt at a clearly feminine figure (kinda inspired by Roodaka really), and BOB, while he took a month to construct (kept running out of shells) and was a real pain to construct, and was nearly destroyed along the way by my cat when he knocked over a big display onto it, I think he turned out really well Hope you enjoyed looking at it as much as I did building it!
  12. Hello all, I have recently been quite busy with my latest Rahi revamp, the Tahtorak! I got inspired after a large package came in the mail carrying the entirety of one of the CCBS creation free play bins in a Lego store. (I have a few close friends in the Lego store business). Rather than trying to find out who sent me the gift and whether or not a Lego employee is even allowed to send someone that for free (Believe me - I'm not complaining! ;) ), I set to work organizing the dozens of masks, yummy trans-purple bones (about 30 in total), countless eyestalks, heads, and more. Anyway, since this batch in question had so many trans green shells, I began to make a dinosaur, which turned into the Tahtorak. This is the biggest yet, and while the color scheme has been shifted to a lime focus and trans flourescent green yellow (...??? that trans color Pohatu has), I tried to keep it as close to the original as possible. Without further ado, here's the Titan Answer-Seeker in all his jumbled-color scheme glory! Comments, constructive criticism, and tips are welcome! I am relatively new to MOCing in general and would love to hear tips from the masters! Thanks for checking out this MOC!

  14. The Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Hello all! May I share with you my latest Bionicle based MOC. I have wanted to build a huge CCBS dragon for a long while, but never really got around to it until recently, when I looked at my large pile of unused craft faux leather and thinking that they'd make good dragon wings on a LEGO model. So this is what resulted! You might notice that I did take Bullion, the steed from my BFTGM entry, and used him as a base for what I am calling "The Okoto Dragon" (yes, very unoriginal name I know!) The Stone Protector Leader by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr First of all, a look at the Stone Protector Leader, which I built while building the dragon, and acts as a steed to the giant Rahi. Credit to Rayskull for the alternate build used in this little guy's construction. And now for the Okoto Dragon itself: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Front view: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Side view: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Rear view: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr Top view, showing the wings fully extended: The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr The Okoto dragon can rear up on it's hind legs, though it is extremely difficult since it is extremely heavy. The Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr The Stone Protector Leader (and other Protectors of course) can be mounted cofortably on the Okoto Dragon, as shown here: The Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr And a bonus "face-off" shot between Protector and Rahi... The Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon by TheOneVeyronian, on Flickr That's it for now. Positive and constructive comments appreciated, as long as you don't mention the keetorange (I didn't have much choice there, I wanted to use the flame pieces above the eyes, and kind of had to include more elements of the colour in the build, since until Skull Grinder comes along, they only come in keetorange). Also, please ignore the pole reverser handles on the wings, I forgot to replace them with bushings until halfway through the photoshoot. Any other odd colours present is likely because I run out of the colour I wanted to use

    Dume and Nivawk

I wanted both Dume and Nivawk to have action functions in the spirit of the 2015 Bionicle sets. Dume features moving arms using the new gearbox part and Nivawk's wings can open and close similar to the original set! Here is a demonstration of the wing function. When the knob is turned the linkage opens and closes the wings!

    2015 Nui Rama

So recently, inspired by an offhand comment my twin brother made about wanting to see/build an updated version of the classic Nui-Rama set, I decided to try my hand at a MOC. After much planning, preparation on LDD, and scavenging parts from recent Technic sets, the result is what you see here. A "Skull Sandfly" (still not 100% sold on the name, but I like the alliteration). I tried to recreate the look of the classic set while giving it a much-needed update, with CCBS parts replacing the classic low-posability Bionicle limbs and the dated Throwbot/Slizer gearbox cleared out to make way for a custom gearbox which utilizes the knob gears from this year's Technic-heavy Toa and Lord of Skull Spiders. The function looks better (thanks in part to the wings from Gorast and Thornraxx) and arguably works better, with less wobble and a better grip for the handle. The jaw and claws are now posable, thanks to parts from last year's Hero Factory sets, and the eyes are now solidly attached instead of weirdly popping off like other masks. And at 103 pieces, it gives the original a run for its money in terms of bulk and building experience as well. Artakha Bull

Artakha Bull by The Mugbearer, on Flickr As Biosector01 tells us, Artakha Bulls are powerful and intelligent Rahi shrouded in myth and legend. The Artakha Bull species was created by the Makuta using Viruses and Liquid Protodermis to be one of the Rahi to inhabit the Matoran Universe. A population of Bulls established themselves in Le-Metru on Metru Nui. They are one of the oldest kinds of Rahi known to the Matoran of Metru Nui; the Archives have recorded appearances of them on the island city prior to the Great Cataclysm. During the events of the Great Rescue, Rahaga Bomonga reported having extreme trouble catching the Bulls because of their unusually high levels of cunning and intelligence. After the Great Spirit Robot was critically damaged in the Battle of Bara Magna, many Artakha Bulls emigrated from the Matoran Universe to Spherus Magna. Legend has it that the Bulls had intelligence far beyond anything the Matoran could hope to achieve, and so they were the only creatures allowed by Mata Nui to enter Artakha along with the Matoran. Another legend states that the Artakha Bulls were actually on Metru Nui long before Matoran populated it. Artakha Bulls are very strong, very swift, and excellent trackers. They are extremely hostile and bad-natured. Some Artakha Bulls carry spear-like tools. The MOC was inspired by drawing made by Demitsorou.
  19. Idle Defensive Posture Tamed by Shaman Dondo's Fanged Tuonisar, an old inhabitant of Mata Nui, is a sub-species of tuonisar. It is the only purely land-dwelling tuonisar, yet along evolution's path it has retained its long neck and tail, formerly used to cling to trees. Males, like the one pictured, are endowed with a tangle of wires and cables around the torso that carry healing protodermis that it uses to heal itself, its young, and its mate. Young, and female fanged tuonisars are unable to heal quickly. Only the male has that ability, as it is expected to fight for food and protect its den. "Sar" is an ancient Matoran word for "Serpent", with "tuo" and "ni" meaning fanged and double respectively (ni's direct translation is "a multiple of two"). It was discovered by one of the first founding Turaga, Dondo. On rare occasions, they can be trained to follow and protect you, as demonstrated by the shaman in picture three. //headcanon dump So, what do you think?
  20. First up, Kaneta-Bur. The Kaneta-Bur is a reef-dwelling, blind testudine that is largely harmless unless poked in its sensitive feelers. Do not poke the feelers. https://www.flickr.com/photos/114035403@N02/sets/72157648181625432/ Next up, Juru-Ra. A reef-dwelling, long-necked pleiseohominid, this creature is commonly referred to as a sea monkey. Despite the name, they are quite dangerous, especially in packs. https://www.flickr.com/photos/114035403@N02/sets/72157647779467050/ Oh god he poked the feelers Lastly, something completely different: The desert sedge. A sedge slides across the ground on millions of microscopic hind legs, and steers and balances itself with its two large clawed hands. Desert sedges are peaceful creatures. While peaceful, they are not afraid to defend themselves. https://www.flickr.com/photos/114035403@N02/sets/72157648135061206/ How'd I do? Oh, make that four. The Cara-Ni, or Reef Deacon, is a species of violent rahi living in the reefs off the coasts of Po-Koro. No two are alike in coloration, though they are all very vibrant due to the protodermis "blood" of the Mata Nui seeping out into the reefs. All reef-dwellers that have this strange coloration are under the umbrella term "Protodermoid Anomalies". https://www.flickr.com/photos/114035403@N02/sets/72157647778428249/

Somewhere off in the stony wastes, something is hungry. ^ Click this photo to view the MOCpages gallery. ^ Something different from my usual MOCs... this is my first complete non-humanoid build in months. I'm quite satisfied with it. Sorry for the relatively small amount of photos, but there's really not a large variety of poses I can put a giant scorpion in. Feedback is appreciated.
