  1. Hi everyone. Here is my latest modular building. It's a handbag store, called "Coveted Clutch", that is based on my normal avatar. The store is on the ground floor and there is an apartment upstairs where the store owner and designer of the handbags lives. The bit from my avatar is the left side of the storefront, changed a little to make it wider and taller. I think of it as Soho meets Friends. Enough babble, here are some photos. My favourite part - the first floor windows. Overview of the store on the ground floor: Dining, lounge and kitchen on the first floor: Bedroom and bathroom on the second floor: More photos on flickr. C&C welcome!

    Major of Kimville`s residens

My first real post! Woho! This is a house I build from my own fantasy. The house is not 100% complete in lack of time and has no inventory or stairs. Yet. As the topic title says, this is the majors house. My city, Kimville, was founded in 2009 and still expanding. I will set up a solution with more and better pictures so you can get to know it better. My own creations is a selection of (modular) buildings, like a Applestore, Toys`R`us and a italian icebar. As my collection of bricks grows I will be able to build bigger, better and more detailed. In the meantime I collect inspiration :) Stay tuned!

part 5 the AAG headquarters. many have seen the building, its not hard to being so massive, but few have tried to find out what its for, and none have succeeded. the only people who ever enter the building are strange hooded folk or avalonian lords, not the sort of people you mess with... Zakon: lads, you're heading west... To be continued... part 1 part 2 part 3 part 4 ~Legonardo

He has hired Pepin (my character) to oversee the construction of a stone wall around his home as war seems to be coming: More pics, including interior, here: http://brickbuilt.tk...sten's-Home.php Any C&C welcome

    MOC: Emergency Station

Hi everyone! As a result of the rebuild of my emergency vehicles I also finished a little emergency station. This areal has got a large dual garage for two ambulances and another one for the emergency car driven by the doctor. The structure has some room for the personnel. You can find a small kitchen, a computer workstation, a rest room and of course a toilet. So the doctor and his paramedics can do some acitivities beside all the actions. A little kitten from a neighbor comes around from time to time... The Farnheim Fire Department had formed a new rescue concept for the 21st century back in 1998. It implied to build three different Emergency Stations strategically sited throughout the municipal area. The goal was and now is to reduce the way to the scene significantly - and save lives. This station was built in 2005 and can be found in northern area of the city. So, that's all with that little (fictional) history of that building. Hope you like it. Here are the pictures... Thanks for watching. C&C welcome as always... Best regards, Farnheim

    MSFC: Planet Express

Good news, everyone! I have finally completed my entry for the Micro Sci-Fi Contest! I couldn't pass up on participating in this great Sci-Fi month, and what's more sci-fi than Futurama! And so, I present to you my microscale recreation of the Planet Express building and ship! Planet Express by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Here you can see the Planet Express ship coming in for a landing, having returned from yet another whacky adventure! Meanwhile, Bender is having a conversation with Calculon in front of the building as a Slurm delivery truck drives by. Planet Express by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr I tried incorporating as many details as I could at this small scale, such as the vents in the back, all the pipes on the sides of the building, and the Angry Dome on top of the hangar (the place where the Professor goes when he is angry). Planet Express by Oky - Space Ranger, on Flickr Click here to see one of the reference images I used. You can see more views in my photostream. Comments and criticisms welcome. I hope you like it, and good luck in the contest everyone! Oh, and bite my shiny plastic @$$!

    Lego and GI Joe (80's)

Hey everyone, new to the site. I have a hard question to ask all of you but didn't know where to post it so I'm starting a new thread...Ok so I've seen alot going on with this WW2 military scenes that people have been building for WW2 battle scenes and the such. The question I've got is, I collect vintage GI Joes (80's) and I'm looking to use lego for the back ground for my diearamas. I've seen this neat little bunker which is 12x12 on a 16x16 base plate, I've put a GI Joe into the bunker and it fits snugly, I'd like to make the bunker maybe twice the size of the 12x12 bunker and see how that looks with my GI Joe. What I'm looking to do is after I tackle this little project is I'd like to look into further buildings for 1/18th scale to fit the GI Joe scene. Thanks in advance for any and all help guys.

    MOC: Lion's Heart Hotel

Hi guys. Here is my latest modular - the Lion's Heart Hotel. A small boutique hotel, with just three rooms, including a very spacious penthouse. This one is also inspired by a Brisbane building - the Inchcolm Hotel. It has an elevator, which is borrowed from the Town Hall (the design, not the actual elevator). In the lobby is a statue of the knight who was said to have the heart of a lion in battle. And a neat little telephone bench. The first floor has a single and a double room. And the best room in hotel, the penthouse suite. The hotel is missing a restaurant and bar, but our guests will just have to go next door. I don't think I'd be able to lift the building if I added another floor! Good excuse to add a restaurant to the list of buildings to do. There are more photos on flickr. Comments and suggestions always welcome.
  17. So you've got a plot and some characters all nutted out and you're ready to start making your comic/film. The first thing to work out is where is the scene taking place? This shouldn't be that hard as you've probably got foot notes in your plot/script. The next step is to decide how many angles this scene will be shot from, the best way to get an idea of this is to sketch up a story board (you don't want to build more than you need and be temped to change the composition of the shot to capture parts of the scenery). Step 1: Sketch Up/Story Board Here is where you'll plan both the composition and scenery needed for each frame, it doesn't need to be too detailed (simple stick figures will do), but it will give you an idea of the perspective of the shot and exactly what you need to build. Don't forget to position your speech bubbles for a comic. Step 2: The Moc Up Set up your camera and characters (and any items important to the scene) according to your story board so that you know what's needed to fill out the shot, from here you can start to fill in the blanks, bearing in mind your speech bubbles will cover up parts of the scene. Step 3: The Build By now you should have a good idea of what you need to build to complete the shot, it's just a matter of realising it with LEGO bricks. Keep it simple, remember the back ground is not the focal point of the shot it's simply there to add a feel of the location. Here is an example of how back ground scenery can be effective and basic at the same time: If you would like to try this method, please do so in a new thread and I'll meet you there to lend any help I can....... You can do eet. If anything above needs clarification please let me know.
