  1. As Queenston grew larger by the day, the need for certain materials were quickly becoming a problem. One of these materials was cotton, the settlement had welcomed a large amount of settlers these past months which led to a dire need for cotton with which to make cloth for clothes and sheets. Being the most isolated settlement of the Empire, the Mayor had to rely on long trade voyages for any material or product Queenston did not yet have the capabilities to produce itself. Thus the Fara and ETTC Muharib were sent in consort to Queenston, with their cargo holds filled with goods for the settlement. The Fara sailed all the way from Jameston, with supplies and large amounts of cotton and seeds, while the Muharib collected timber and wool from Wullhalm. The two ships met up in Spudkirk before setting off on their dangerous voyage to the Bastion of the East. The New Heaven Sea had been filled with privateers and raiders of the Lotus Empire, hungry wolves searching for riches and glory. As luck would have it, after a couple of days at sea, the small consort woke up to a large war Junk lurking on the horizon. Had they not been on such an important task for the Mayor, there is no doubt our men would have sailed right at the Junk with guns blazing and a sword in each hand. But the settlement could not afford to loose any of the cargo, so they kept course and sailed as fast as they could, while firing with everything they had at the Loti Junk. For each hour that passed, the large and heavy warship fell farther and farther behind, until it eventually cut the chase. The two brigs arrived safely and on schedule to a heart warming welcome at Queenstons docks, where Mayor Scarver offered them free food and rooms at the tavern. The Muharib ended up leaving shortly after with sugar from the settlements new Royal Plantation. But the crew of the Fara suffered some damage during the shootout with the Junk, so the ship stayed anchored in port while the wounded were treated. The crew of the Fara even received some new members, as a handful of ex-privateers joined their crew. These experienced sailors had been part of Edward Scarver’s crew before he became Mayor of the colony. They had stayed there for awhile and helped wherever they could, but their hearts yearned for the sea, so after a final feast with their old cremates and captain, they set sail with the Fara. As they sailed into the sunset, Amin Raza, one of the carpenters of Scarver’s old crew on the Andromache, climbed on to the ratlines and listened to how calm it was. Just a few months ago you couldn’t spend more than a few days at sea without crossing one or several Loti pirates. But now they had spent a week at sea, and they had seen… nothing… crossed no-one… During the time he had stayed in Queenston, the allied invasion of New Oleonda was in full swing. He deducted that they must have pulled away their forces back to the island, now that our foot soldiers are knocking at their door. Perhaps they reassembled their fleet, preparing for a counter attack, hoping to separate our army by hindering our fleets from supplying them. Perhaps they left, perhaps all the pirates and privateers scattered away in fear of fighting in a loosing war… ---- This is my first entry to the Merchant Marine task from the GoC. I originally built the ship months ago, for @Professor Thaum as the prize to his upcoming contest, but it was changed to a microlicence instead. So I reworked the the brig into the Fara, a merchant brig armed with 12 cannons and 4 swivel guns. To be licenced as a class 5 medium square rigged brig for the ETTC. PS: It was my first time using photoshop so please don't hesitate giving me advice if you have any!
  2. Some time ago, Peter Nash visited the Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse. Here he had a pleasant introduction to a number of fellow pioneers of the new world, for example @evancelt. When he wanted to leave Port Woodhouse he got the chance to sail with one of the Naval Intelligence Officers to Queenston. After a pleasant journey across the calm sea, Peter arrived in Queenston. He had already had two architectural assignments for the mayor @Justsomebrix of this city. But the mayor wanted to meet him again at the military docks. Here next to the supply depot (Peter's third building in Queenston) stood a white marble statue, gleaming in the sunlight. Peter looked at it, and thought... "that man looks familiar!" "But that's me!", stammered Peter. "Yes, that's you! "That's right. It's my honor to award you the title of Queenston Pioneer for your contribution to the growth of this settlement!" the mayor replied. --- Will be licensed as a Large Artisan in Queenston @Ayrlego, I would love to donate this build to the Crown to get 2x the licensing fee of the purchase of this build. 3. A while back, Peter Nash (architect) met the wealthy farmer 'Padre Azúcar' (Sugar Cane Plantation, Queenston). After the completion of the new plantation in Queenston, he had planned to further expand his sugar empire to Mesabi Landing. He saw opportunities here to grow agave. Agave is an important raw material for tequilla. 'Padre Azúcar' was very charmed by the work of Peter Nash and invited him again to design his Mexican style farmhouse. The farmhouse consisted of a two-storey building, with two roof terraces. Both can be reached via an outside staircase. The top roof terrace gave an insane view over the sprawling agava plantation. Here, sheltered by the pergola, stood an office desk belonging to 'Padre Azúcar'. This has to be one of the nicest workplaces there is. Workers in the plantation walked in their typical white clothing with red scarves. It was hard work. While enjoying the music of the Mariachi band, Peter took another good glass of tequilla. He shook hands with 'Padre Azúcar' and set out again for new adventures. --- Licensed as a Large Plantation in Mesabi Landing, by @Bricksbypidy. 7. At the opening party of the Primary School in Queenston, Peter Nash (architect) met a wealthy man. Among the locals he was known as 'Padre Azúcar'. This wealthy farmer owned several estates in the Queenston area. He wanted to expand his sugar cane plantation on a vacant lot. A beautiful hacienda had to be realized here. And so it happened... The hacienda consisted of two building parts, interconnected with a covered outdoor area with lovely yellow inner walls. From the gallery, all around, there was a beautiful view of the sunlit courtyard with the most exotic flowers. In the middle, on the Mediterranean tiled floor, was the center piece of the hacienda, the fountain (based on a design by @evancelt). Various arched passageways provided access to this Royal hacienda. The entrances were secured by Royal Guards (that belongs to royal builds... ) There were as many as 1,000 sugar cane plants outside the hacienda (displayed on this build). Although it was not easy to see due to the high crops, several workers were at work. Although... all of them... there was also one sleeping under the palm trees. Various carts drove back and forth with sugar cane. A flourishing trade in Queenston was a fact! --- Will be licensed by @Ayrlego to the Crown, after a 'financial contribution' for @Bricksbypidy. @Ayrlego, you take care of the paperwork? 8. After the completion of his first design assignment (Queenston Primary School), Peter Nash (architect) was overwhelmed with congratulations and positive messages. "What a warm welcome to the New World!", he thought. At the opening party he got into a conversation with the mayor of Wullham, @evancelt. Mayor Major Sir Jonathan Brickleton invited him to come to Wullham. So he did... A few days later, Peter left for Wullham with an old friend, Doug MacIver ("He is a little bit weird, he is wearing a skirt..."] After arriving on the island, Peter was surprised by the landscape. It looked completely different here than in Queenston. The landscape was barren and rougher; it was hilly and there were many sheep. Above all, the temperature was a lot lower and the wind was blowing very hard. It reminded them of where Doug came from. A while later, while taking a walk on the island with Doug, Doug had a great idea. "This island is a great location to start a whiskey distillery!" he said. "Rum is sewage for pirates, people of our stature drink whisky!" Peter agreed and a few days later he started making the first sketches. He designed a main building (distillery) and a first storagehouse. The mayor checked the drawings carefully and approved the construction of the distillery. So construction could begin! See the final result here! --- Licensed in Wullham as a large factory, by @Bricksbypidy. Dimensions: 98 x 130 studs Total parts: ~13,600
  9. Jungle Shootout, Seawatch Following a successful meeting with General Alonzo of the Weelond 2nd Battalion, Major Brickford along with the small detachment of Marines from the 45th Regiment of Foot began to make the short trek back to Corrie Headquarters. At a bend in the road flanked by a short fence and dense brush, Major Brickford got the feeling of being watched. It was well known the Lotii are masters of stealth and were not pleased by the formation of joint forces of the Seawatch Campaign. Jungle Shootout 3 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Not moments later shots began to ring out from within the jungle. It seemed to be an evenly matched fight. Jungle Shootout 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Quickly dismounting his horse and sending it running towards the Corrie encampment, Major Brickford formed a defensive position with what cover was available and ordered his men to return fire on the Lotii Skirmishers barely visible through the brush. Jungle Shootout 2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr When shots were heard in the distance at Corrie HQ followed by Major Brickford's horse with no rider, a detachment of the 18th Hussars 'The Lightfoot' quickly mounted up and rushed to aid the pinned down Major and his men. Jungle Shootout 5 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Adept at riding in through the jungle terrain with speed after many months of patrols, the gallant hussars of the 18th charged through a gap in the brush with swords drawn. In the end one Lotii lay dead in the grass and the remaining skirmishers ran at the sight of 'The Lightfoot' charging in. --------------------------------------- A small firefight between the Corrington Marines and the Lotii. A build to depict some action in the war and to include some of my new parts from AE. Namely the Chinese and British minifigs as well as kneeling legs and Brickarms Perfect Caliber Muskets. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking!
  10. Location: The University of Tiberia, Arlinsport, Tiberia Type: Royal Project Piece (This takes place sometime in 621) It was another pleasant day in Arlinsport. The well manucrued lawns of the University of Tiberia fluttered gently in the breeze, as Agnes Mesabi walked to a surprise meeting at the Mesabi Hall of Geology. A squat, and tough building, the Geology Hall was a recent addition to the University. It's construction, of course, was made possible with the new influx of funds the Mesabi family had charitably dumped into the University. While the Mesabi family was quite dreaded across the Brick Seas, their vast wealth and willingness to keep up appearances had lead them to dump large amounts of capital into Corrington's colonial educational institutions. This allowed for several educational institutions to add new facilities.... provided they put up with "Mesabi Shenanigans" on the premises. Agnes Count Mesabi's harridan of a wife, walked into the halls of the Geology building. Her stiletto heels clacked with each step, ominously announcing her arrival. In the research labratory, WTC Leader Karl Mordo chatted with a Professor of Minerology. "So you see, with these samples, we're hoping that we can identify a common pattern." Said Mordo gruffly. Agnes burst into the labratory. "Karl Mordo! My old friend and confidant. Can you guess why I'm here?" Said Agnes in a nail bitingly aggressive tone. "...so you've come to kill me then...." Said Mordo cooly. He reached into his holster, and drew a pistol. "At LEAST you had the decency to come do it YOURSELF!" "Hey, easy there Mordo..." said Agnes, a little slower, but no less agressively. "Let's talk this out..." With a quick motion, Agnes was behind the Professor, pistol in hand. "TRY SHOOTING ME THROUGH MY NERD SHIELD YOU ****!" She yelled, Aiming her pistol squarely at Mordo's forehead. [/url] The two aimed their pistols at each other for a solid 30 seconds, neither blinking. The Geology professor stood nervously, too afraid to say a word. A grad student cowered in the corner. "...So you're not here to kill me?" Asked Mordo mildly sheepishly. "What? No, I just thought I'd surprise you while I was here to giva a speech for the 'Women in Business' event." Said Agnes, mildly annoyed. The two lowered their pistols. The Geology Professor Scattered. "So, I had a proposal for the WTC to expand our business opportunities." said Agnes. "Involves some things with Oleon, involves the sale of some less than legal merchandise....." Mordo sighed. "You ran out of money in Namere again, didn't you?" "Look, overthrowing governments is hard and expensive! We're certainly not winning the hearts and minds at the moment. But I'm thinking throwing even more money at the situation will fix things." Said Agnes, rolling her eyes. Mordo grunted, and walked over to a chair. "I'm trying to use science to improve our prospecting, but I'm fairly certain I'm going to need to find a different professor to work with, thanks to your antics." Agnes ignored him, and handed him a piece of paper. "Lemme just get your signature, and I'll keep the fact you just tried to kill me on the down low." Mordo glanced over the document. "You really like this Namere thing." He muttered. He signed the piece of paper, and handed a copy back to Agnes. Agnes turned and left. "Oh, and if I wanted you dead Mordo?" She paused, smiling to herself. "I'd just hire someone to do it." FIN Thanks for viewing the build! This continues my work on the Royal "University of Tiberia" project that I've had going since.... 2018. With the current rate of progress I'm making on it, (about 1000 studs per year) I should be done in 2027! Honestly, looking back on my project writeup, I'm not satisfied with what I have their, so I'll probably get it fixed. If anyone is interested in helping, do pm me in the meantime. Regardless, enjoyed building this one. I originally planned to have it be set in Mesabi Landing, leading to a more squat look, but I didn't feel like the style was really working for that settlement. So, I changed up some parts of the build, and set as a part of this project. Storywise, this ties in with my long neglected TMCRA, with Agnes trying to overthrow parts of Namere. Karl Mordo is @Darnok's player character, and he told me that the story was fine, as long as " Set it some time in the past." Thus, the disclaimer at the beginning. I'm also referencing his many prospecting builds on behalf of the WTC. I'm sure this also would lower the IC opinions of everyone of Agnes Mesabi.... if they weren't already rock bottom. Anyway, thanks for viewing. C&C appreciated, and lets hope this royal build gets done!
  11. Location: Seawatch Type: Freebuild It was a humid day near Seawatch, as Count Mesabi and his loyal accountant, Darby Tyler walked towards the city gates. Count Mesabi had anchored the WTC Libertine off the coast of Seawatch, avoiding the heavily patrolled harbour. The two had rowed ashore, and walked down the path towards the city proper. "Anyways Darby, the best way to visit a heavily fortified wartorn city is via surprise. You simply appear at an unexpected interval, and come bearing gifts. It worked for Fatu Hiva" Said the Count cheerily. "Count, they burned you in effigy after the Corrish force pulled out. There's literally been talk of making a holiday when you die." Said Darby, incredulous as ever. "It was such a touching tribute! I always like statues of me! And fiery infernos always have a special place in my heart! Anyway's we're here. It's been a while since I lent my hands to Corrington's Leadership. I always get the feeling like they're anxious around me though. They're probably afraid of my title." Continued the Count, pondering back on his many, many misadventures. "AVAST CARNIVORES!" Yelled the Count at the Carnish gate guard. "I, his excellence Count Mesabi demand an audience with your mayor, the leaders of the joint military task force, your quartermaster, whoever's in charge of your theater guild, and your cheapest cheesemonger!" "Who the Megablocks are you?" Yelled back the Carnish guard, gripping his musket tightly. The Count smiled. He had new friends to make! "Look, uh, just please tell a Corrish guard to find a sergeant or something? Tell them that Count Mesabi is here." Yelled Darby, hoping to slightly The Carnish guard stepped away. A loud "WHAT?!?" came up from over the wall in a heavy Corrish accent. An alarm bang clanged loudly, the gates were yanked open, and Corrish and Oleander marines sprinted forwards, muskets in hand. "See Darby! Look at the warm reception we're getting" said the Count happily. Soldiers emerged from both sides of the path, climbing through bushes and thicket. Each pointed their musket at the duo. "Augh! don't shoot me! I don't want to die!" Cowered Darby. "Drop your weapons you nutcase!" Yelled a Corrish Guardsman. "You will hang for what you did to Fatu Hiva!" Cried an Oleander marine angrily. "You're a danger to the free markets!" muttered an Eslandolian guard. "No sudden movements!" Shouted the Corrish ranger. "Who wants canned meat!" Said the Count. "I brought enough to share!" FIN Thanks for viewing my build. I thought it'd be fun to have the Count here for this, so he has found his way over. For newer builders, my character, Count Mesabi caused a bunch of IC and OOC strife when I first joined BoBS. Long story short, I nowadays I do my best to not cause OOC / irl issues, but I very much enjoy playing a character who is reviled, hated, and despised across the Brick Seas. Anyway, I enjoyed building this. The wall segments started as an experiment, and the rest of the build followed. I did my best to make sure all the factions present in Sea watch were represented. Hope I didn't miss anyone. I'm not sure if I can license this. If I can, I'd like to do so as a small commercial. Thanks for viewing my build!
  12. HMS Adder is a 5th rate frigate in the Corlander navy. She is armed with 22 18lb longguns, 16 18lb caronades and 4 swivel breams. She has a crew of 316 men. The sea had been eerily calm over the past day, largely keeping the Adder stationary. Lieutenant Fishbourn consults with Mr. Furlong. While Mr. Furlong wasn't an officer, he had been a sailor for over 35 years and knew how to navigate the Brick Seas better than anyone else on board. "Mr. Furlong, how many days out from El Oleonda would you say we are if the wind picks back up this afternoon?" From the poop deck, Captain Groughland observed Lieutenant Fishbourn talking with Mr. Furlong. The lieutenant was still quite green, Groughland thought - it sure was good to have seasoned hands like Mr. Furlong on board to pass along maritime knowhow to his younger officers. ---------------------- OOC: Submitted to Corrington as a heavy frigate for the GoC Oaken Shield task 3 - Cruisers of Terranova I believe with this task approved I'll have three different GoC tasks completed @Ayrlego @Bregir I've always really liked the 1990's imperial flagship hulls, but the ship seemed super small compared to minifig scale. So I recast the ship for microfigs! It was fun using dark brown with the classic brown and dark gray of the hull pieces.
  13. With the Royal Navy heavily engaged with Lotus forces in the far east, Rear-admiral Fletcher has taken ship to Spudkirk. Here he will raise his flag in theheavy frigate the HMS Legion, and take command of a squadron designated to hunt down Lotii forces and defend Corlander and allied shipping.
  14. Following the disaster at Jiangkai, rapidly becoming known as the 'Night of Tears', Gran Oleon's El Oleondan HQ has dispatched a brace of staff officers to the Corrington Expeditionary Force's HQ in Ft. Arltrees. This mission is led by one Captain Toussaint, commander of Oleon's finest formal flourish in the entire New Haven Sea. The purpose of this mission is twofold, to beseech the Corries for any information they may have gleaned about the siege of Seawatch and the composition of Lotii forces there, as well as to determine the best use of allied assets on the island. This FB is just a simple, cropped copy of the CEF HQ in Ft. Arltrees that Brickwolf built a few weeks ago and is intended mostly for fluff. A day or so late. Sorry. Boring ol' work stuff
  15. When the privateers arrived at Queenston, Edward and his men went ashore with the supplies before anchoring the frigate in a defencive position, protecting all entry to the bay. Colonel Dirk Allcock was absent from the colony while exploring the jungle, so Scarver took some liberties and ordered the construction of several properties. The first amongst them being a logging camp. As most privateers and other rough sailors are, these men were no strangers to logging, so the logging camp was up and running in no time. The camp will serve useful during the early stages of the settlement, as the palm trees proved to be effective construction materials. With the building material produced in this camp, small buildings and defencive walls can be constructed at a much faster rate. --- I thought it was fitting that Queenston's first licensed build was a logging camp, so here it is! I originally started to build it on stud.io as a 64x64 build, but I lost inspiration and decided to do one in real bricks instead. I would have loved to put more trees in the scene and I wanted to build a tent as well, but I was quickly reminded of my lack of parts... but I think it turned out good nonetheless Will be submited as a medium factory
  16. After Colonel Allcock spotted an unknown Man O’ War anchored off the east coast of Arlintina, Captain Scarver received orders to help secure the island and protect the construction of the settlement. Ordinarily, the Admiralty Board would have sent a Royal Navy warship to deal with such a threat, but preoccupied with the Lotii, they had none to spare. Anticipating a hard fight, Scarver had his frigate armed to the teeth and transferred all 3 of his (after weeks of pirate hunting, now rather small) crews onto his ship. But before leaving Spudkirk he had the cargo hold filled with supplies for the new settlement, including 8 pigs and 12 chickens. They sailed down the southwest coast of Arlintina where they eventually spotted Allcocks camp. After going ashore, Edward was met by Captain Gregor Forrester, an officer of the 12th regiment of foot. “Edward Scarver, welcome! I have been waiting for you. Follow me, I’ll get you up to speed on the situation.” As they walked up the camp he continued, “Colonel Dirk Allcock has designated a prefered location for the construction of our colony, he is currently there overseeing her construction. My orders are to stay here and keep a lookout for any ships, friends and foes. The Man O’ War was spotted about 5 days north of here, the ship flew no colors and there were no men ashore, but she was large enough to inspire us to change direction and head west instead.” “No colors you say, that’s never a good sign.” “You can certainly say that again. Your orders are to head East and meet up with Allcock at the sight of the settlement. You’ll stay there and protect the camp until we gather more information about our unwanted visitors.” “You don’t want me looking for her?” “Nay, we can’t risk her sailing into the settlement while you’re off on a wild-goose hunt on the other side of the Island. Besides, I have my best men looking for her as we speak. If she comes anywhere near the camp, we’ll know, and we’ll have you to intercept her.” “I understand, my men and I will do what’s needed, you have my word.” “Glad to hear it. The colony is on the south-eastern side of the island, I'll draw you a map of what we know thus far. It should take you about a day and a half to get there, but I suggest you head back into open water, the coral reefs on this side of the island don’t mess around.” “All noted Captain, thank you. We’ll leave at first sunrise tomorrow, my men could need a good night's rest. We brought supplies for the colony, is there anything you’re in need of? Something tells me it’s been a while since you were last resupplied.” “Much obliged, I’ll give you a list. Oh and I almost forgot, a name has been chosen, the settlement is to be called Queenston. Long live the Queen!” ---- Just a small build to progress my characters story

  18. The Corlander troops amassed in Spudkirk were mostly camped outside the town, but a sizeable number of officers were billeted in townhouses near the center of town. The townsfolk were glad to host the officers - they felt that much safer from the Lotii having soldiers at hand. -------------- OOC: A quick build to test out some new redcoat microfigs I made last night. To be licensed as a small residence in Spudkirk.
  19. Samuel Scarver had been following Corringtons actions closely as the threat of the Lotii in New Haven grew bigger by the day... knowing that our leaders would never let them get away with it. When news of a planned invasion finally arrived, he knew he had to help. In his prime he would have taken a Letter of Marque and gone there himself, alas, his age would not allow him. However, retired from a successful trade company, Samuel owned a good handful of ships. So he had his best warship restored and ready for action. She was a Corvette he had captured on one of his trade expeditions all those years ago. The ship was fast and well armed, with a total of 18x 8-pounder guns, 4x 6-pounders : 2 bow chasers and 2 stern chasers, and to top it all off, 10 swivel guns to repel all boarders. She was the perfect escort, not a single piece of cargo was ever lost under her protection. In many ways she reminded him a lot of his mother, as she had always shielded him from danger, despite how hard he made it. So he named her, Alexandra, his mother's name, and had the figurehead represent her holding her favorite bird, the hummingbird. To tell the truth, he was sad to let her go… But he knew she would serve the Queen well, just like she had him. And to a man who bled the colors of Corrington, nothing meant more. He contacted an old friend of his from the Noble Parliament, whom he intrusted to find a suitable captain for the ship. With her Majesty's Navy having no shortage of experienced naval officers, the ship was immediatly assigned to an up-and-coming captain Foster. A mere 3 days later, Samuel Scarver stood at the docks of Belson, as he watched HMS Alexandra sail into the sunset. (There are actually 9 figures barely visible / invisible from the angle I took the image ) ----------- A new Cruiser for the Navy! She is a class 6 Corvette built for the Oaken Shield task, you are free to decide her stats, otherwise she is ready to be licenced. This ship is heavily inspired by one of "boeing_787_8_dreamliner" ships on instagram, he makes som very nice ships and was nice enough to send me the file for his ship "La Therese". I learned a lot of new technics from his ship and I borrowed 90% of his fantastic rigging as well as some other parts. (Samuel Scarver is Edward's father and was referred to in my character's introduction)
  20. Soldiers from across the Brick Seas were converging on Spudkirk as Corrington prepared to bring the fight to the Lotii. From Spudkirk, Corlander forces would head to the island of El Oleonda. As Private Turlington returned to his tent with a bucket of water from the stream, he paused to watch a column of newly arrived soldiers pass by. Based on their green epaulettes, he knew the regiment joining camp in Spudkirk was the 47th Regiment of Foot.
  21. Private Neville noticed Captain Hardy approaching the spot where he stood. Neville had been standing there for the past two hours while a local Spudkirk artist sketched his portrait. "I say, old chap", the captain said to Neville, "You've found the best light in camp! Mind if I set up right here next to you for my portrait?". The captain's portraitist began setting up his easel. --------------- OOC: Trying out some 8x8 round tiles as MOC bases. Also trying some partially-erased TLG red arms for use on infantry and officers.
  22. "Jan 15th, 622AE; Our arrival at the bluecoat hub of Fort Arltrees recieved a warmer reception than any of our men dared hope for. During the journey, rumors abounded as to the loyalties of our hithertofore enemies within the enlisted ranks. Fears of marching out to do battle with the Lotii, only to find our traditional enemies in our rear, were serious concerns right up until the day we landed. As our battalion moved through the city to our bivouacs, we encounted one of the largest markets I have ever seen and a crowd of smiling locals filled the streets to greet us. Some even trying to foist bottles of wine and loaves of fresh bread upon us as we marched. The lieutenant politely declined these advances and became cross with a couple men who had accepted a kask of rum from a local suttler." "With only a few exceptions, our welcome to Fort Arltrees was a warm affair." "I must make a note to visit that market while we are still here. I have no doubt there could be something perfect for everyone in the family. Even grandpa!" -Excerpt from the journal of Willian 'Bill' Morley, Private, Corrington's 26th Regiment of Foot Thanks! As always, C and C welcome and if there is a lore issue, I'll edit accordingly. To be licensed as a small residence in Fort Arltrees. This is an attempt to duplicate some of the building styles I've seen in the lovely MOCs you all have posted lately. A special thanks to Ayrlego and Evancelt for their excellent tutorials on base building.
  23. Newly promoted Major Brickleton had arrived just days earlier at Fort Arltrees on the island of El Oleonda. With him were multiple companies of 26th Foot and 18th Hussars. After conferring with Colonel Wolf, Brickleton sets out with a company of 18th Hussars toward the Carno settlement of Seawatch. Reports suggest the town is under siege by Lotii forces and Brickleton has orders to confirm the veracity of those reports. While the territory between Fort Arltrees and Seawatch is wild and mostly unexplored, the 18th Hussars, known as "The Lightfoot", are expert horsemen and navigate the terrain with deftness. The group rides silently toward Seawatch, listening for telltale sounds of the enemy but thus far only hearing the occasional monkey in the underbrush. Brickleton wonders to himself what they will find as they approach Seawatch. ------------- OOC: A recon mission to see the status of Seawatch. A closer up detail shot of the continued experiments with brick-built saddles:
  24. Class 5 - HMS Queen After much deliberations at the Pine Island Monastery , it was finally time for Sir Major Brickford to depart from Terraversa and make haste to Brickford Landing. After tidying up some loose ends in Westface, the newly arrived ship from the Quinnsville shipyards had just arrived, the HMS Queen. Ship2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr After narrowly escaping a battle with Oleon, who could have predicted that Corrington forces would now be heading to the New Haven Sea in a joint effort. Either way, the sea air felt good. Ship3 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr ---------------------------------------- Thanks for looking! I've had this ship built for months, and I figured it was high time that I posted it and got the Major to the New Haven sea before I miss the fighting! Extra pics in the spoiler.
  25. Corporal Hardy of the 26th Foot had spent the last year on the island of Terraversa under Captain Brickleton. He had traveled to the island with Brickleton from Wullham at the onset of hostilities with Oleon. Even though those tensions with Oleon hadn't come to a head and Corrington was currently treating with Oleon regarding a joint effort against the Lotii, Hardy was still haunted by a dream of a charge that had never happened. In the dream, an Oleonese heavy lancer was charging at him and he was kneeling ready to fire his musket at the oncoming horse. He strategized that once the horse was downed, he would charge the cavalryman with his bayonet. He would wait until the horse was a cart's length from him and then fire. 3.. 2.. 1.. And then he always woke up ------------------- OOC: I backed the CrazyLegs kickstarter and they just arrived in the mail this week. Wanted to try them in a build!
