[COR - FB - GOC - ROYAL] Botanical Research Center, Spudkirk
Bricksbypidy posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Corrington is known as a bastion of knowledge and learning. Science, mathematics and literature all flourish under Corlander patronage and Corlander schools and universities are world renowned. Thus it is only natural that this passion for education is transferred with Corlander settlers in Terra Nova. Also in Spudkirk. This beautiful, modern botanical research center was recently realized here by the renowned architect Baron Peter Nash. Spudkirk is a bit isolated from other major islands, thick verdant jungle covers the entire island interior, sitting on a plateau atop 100 m high cliffs making up the entire coast. The research center is located on the edge of a cliff with a beautiful view of the sea. Although the sea looks peaceful, dangers always lurk in these shallows and the rocky coastline. --- Royal Education building sold to @Spud The Viking, and will be licensed to the settlement Spudkirk. You take care for the bank transfer and licensing? Completing GoC task 5.3 Higher Education with this build. Property type: Royal Education Dimensions: 100 x 100 studs Total parts: ~15,100 Credits: - Design Botanical Research Center: Freely based on LEGO set 41757 'Botanical Garden' (A really good LEGO Friends-set, in my opinion!) --- With this build I've achieved: - a total yield from licensing my builds of 1,000+ db’s each month/MRCA (88% for the Crown/settlement + 12% for Bricksbypidy); - a total of builds in 15 different settlements of Corrington (15 / 20); - a total of 9 Royal builds (29% of all my builds) - completing 24 tasks for the Glory of Corrington Challenge (divided into 9 challenges).- 11 replies

Soldiers from across the Brick Seas were converging on Spudkirk as Corrington prepared to bring the fight to the Lotii. From Spudkirk, Corlander forces would head to the island of El Oleonda. As Private Turlington returned to his tent with a bucket of water from the stream, he paused to watch a column of newly arrived soldiers pass by. Based on their green epaulettes, he knew the regiment joining camp in Spudkirk was the 47th Regiment of Foot.

Preparing for War 11 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Once the battle plans are drawn, Corrie Vengeance will rain down the Lotii! Preparing for War 12 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr ------------------------------------------------ A build that I have had in the works for what seems like forever! Finally got around to posting. Sorry for the slightly unedited photos. My laptop has been overheating so I can't do any graphic intensive work on it at the moment. It consists of 6 32x32 base plates for a stud count of 6,144. The storehouse is to be licensed as a medium commerce and the blockhouse as a small residence for Spudkirk. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking! Full overview of the build in the spoiler below. -
The Corlander troops amassed in Spudkirk were mostly camped outside the town, but a sizeable number of officers were billeted in townhouses near the center of town. The townsfolk were glad to host the officers - they felt that much safer from the Lotii having soldiers at hand. -------------- OOC: A quick build to test out some new redcoat microfigs I made last night. To be licensed as a small residence in Spudkirk.

Location: Spudkirk Type: Small Educational It was a windy day in the Spudkirk, as RSND Chairman Ralph Clutchington and Commander Joshua walked towards the town library, where the mad Count Mesabi had arranged for a meeting. "Ok, so the Crown's dossier on the guy said "DO NOT make sudden movements, threaten, or talk about food in any vocation around Count Mesabi" said Commander Joshua, as the two stood on the stairs. "Understood. I still don't understand why does the Crown hasn't done anything about him! He has all sorts of nefarious business practices, shoddy construction jobs, probable tax evasion, randomly sending a rowboat to attack Fatu Hiva.... then actually invading Fatu Hiva with a private army... the whole thing with the horses.... The bloke is a stain on the good name of Corrington." replied Ralph Clutchington. "Well, he's rich as Hades, and he has the largest private army in all of Corrington." said Commander Joshua solemnly. The two reached the door. "After you, good sir. May the Gods let this go well." They walked inside the library. Looted books and antiquities lined the shelves, as the majority of written texts that once graced Fatu Hiva filled the small library to the brim. The two continued through the shelves to a set of stairs. Count Mesabi sat in the well lit upper floor, having just finished parsing through an ancient text. Darby stood next to him, anticipating the arrival of the two gentlemen. "Anyways Darby, the people who created the vault on Isla Door was super into mysterious underground vaults. Apparently, it was a huge deal for them. That and crypts. Oh yeah, we were meeting the Royal Science Nerd Dude, and Commodore Josh today." said the Count, cheery as usual. "Count, it's Commander Joshua, and the representative from the The Royal Society of Navigation and Discovery is Ralph Clutchington." replied Darby, slightly annoyed. "Are you sure, it's not some guy who's nickname is RSND?" Asked the Count incredulously. The footsteps of the two men grew closer as they walked up a set of stairs. "Greetings, Count Mesabi, we're very glad to finally meet with you." said Commander Joshua in a very formal tone. "We're quite pleased to hear that you're offering the use of the WTC marines and shipping logistics for the conflict with the Lotii." Added Ralph Clutchington. "Yes of course gentlemen. I am always pleased to send my rancorous ranks into glorious conflict with other nations. Corrington has red on the flag you know." "We should have over 200 men by the end of the next cycle. replied Darby proudly. This is in addition to the soldiers brought at the last cycle." The Count stood and walked to the window. "That's most excellent." said Ralph Clutchington, "We can certainly use the support." though he wondered how many innocent horses would die in the campaign. "The WTC Marines, while far less organized than Corrington's Redcoats proper, will certainly do their part against the Lotii" Said Commander Joshua. "The WTC always relishes the chance to help Corrington by breaking things." The Count Replied. "But I have a far more urgent question for you. What's the most popular restaurant in this Tubular Town? I wish to buy it out, and shake up their menu..." "Uh..." Stuttered Commander Joshua. "There has never.... uh... ever been a restaurant in Spudkirk.... ever... Everyone does home cooking. No inns, no taverns... no uh.... pubs." improvised Ralph Clutchington. "Then I'll do it myself...." he said, eluding to what the Commander and the Chairmen could only assume was a restaurant that served horses. "The WTC is always happy to assist." finished Darby awkwardly. The Count chuckled evilly. FIN Thanks for viewing my build! This continues Count Mesabi's story from Fatu Hiva. I really had fun building this one. I'm especially proud of doing the window wells for this, it added a bit of a challenge to the build for me. I regret making it so grey (which is why there is moss on the build), but I think it turned out well otherwise. I also did not have the proper minifigures for Commander Joshua, and Ralph Clutchington, unfortunately, so they look a little generic. Comments and Criticism Appreciated!

In this thread I introduce three new ships for the Nation of Corrington: [Class IV] Galeas 'Buteo' [Class IV] Junk 'Marauder's Fate' (Name given by the Corries) [Class I] Gunboat 'Hildisvíni' The fourth ship I used for the story is an earlier build and I already posted in the Pirate MOCs subforum. To Rear-Admiral Fletcher Commander of the Royal Terra Novan Fleet A strange yet promising opportunity arises from the event that took place near our harbour's waters. On the 2nd of this month the Galeas 'Buteo', recently built in the Farrensman Shipyards, was about to enter port. Before she reached sighting distance, she was intercepted by a little Lotii vessel. Once slowed down another bigger Lotii ship approached with the intent to plunder, not knowing there were Corrish troops aboard, heading to Fort Nithsdale. The soldiers were able to hold the Lotii Forces back and attracted from gun shots and shouting the Gunboat 'Hildisvíni' entered the battle, preventing an escape of the larger vessel. Together with the 'Buteo's' crew, whose commitment I want to praise at this point, the soldiers entered the Lotii ship and overpowered the enemy forces. The small interception vessel took it's chance to flee. The Lotiis are held Prisoners of War in Fort Nithsdale. The 'Buteo', the 'Hildisvíni' and the Lotii Junk all safely entered port. A detailed report about the minor damages will be sent by the harbour administration. Here stationed naval officers already inspected the foreign vessel and came to the conclusion that the hull is to weak for an armament with cannons. Still the vessel holds some value. For such a low draught it is very spacious and the sailors are content with it's sailing capabilities. Therefore I recommend the Crown to put it in service as a troop carrier, able to partake in river or landing operations where shallow water often restricts our potential. Sincerely, Lord Frederick Spud Mayor of Spudkirk

[COR - FB] Cliffside Storehouse, Spudkirk, Avestia
LM71Blackbird posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Cliffside Storehouse After the brazen attack on the of the newest budding Corrish settlement of Spudkirk, VP of Operations Ralph Clutchington decided to not put all their eggs in one basket. This decision was made so that the settlement would not experience shortages in the aftermath of an attack. The Decision was implemented by building a series of storehouses around the settlement on strategic positions. Also serve as small gun emplacements to further protect the settlement. Cliffside Storehouse 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr These storehouses will have a watch posted at all times to help protect the Spudkirk's limited and important assets. Cliffside Storehouse 3 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr VP of Operations, Ralph Clutchington, is personally overseeing the plan and visiting the guards posted to the storehouses around the settlement. Cliffside Storehouse 2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr On this trip they are also beginning the stocking process by dropping off the first supply of goods to be stored. Cliffside Storehouse 4 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr ---------------------------------------------------------- After seeing @Ayrlego's build in Spudkirk, I really wanted to create something for the settlement as well. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking! -
[GoC - FB1 - COR] Spirdkirk Forward Outpost
LM71Blackbird posted a topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
[GoC - FB - COR] Spirdkirk Forward Outpost Follow the recent attack by the Loti on the budding settlement of Spudkirk, a forward outpost has been set up overlooking the harbor. Watchtower 1 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Located not far from the newly erected Fort Nithsdale, this watchtower will serve as a more effective way to monitor the new harbor until more defenses can be set up in the lower portions of the settlement. Watchtower 2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr The Marines stationed here are wearing the better suited jungle attire with wide brimmed hats to help with the sun. One of the sergeants has walked up to check on the men and make sure there is nothing unusual to report. Watchtower 4 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr As this was hastily constructed, the men stationed here are currently living out of a tent until more permanent housing can be built for them. Most of the time was spent on the watchtower and cannon defenses. --------------------------------------------- My first entry for the GoC Strategic Outposts for Task #3. Ownership is forthwith transferred to the faction as per the task requirements. I believe either a military residence or a small fort would best suit this build. C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking! @Bregir @Ayrlego @SilentWolf @Captain Dee
