When LEGO releases new parts that are more appropriate than existing ones, do you update your sets or MOCs with those new parts? For example, in 76202 Wolverine Mech, the legs are offset with one slightly in front of the other because there was no part at the time of the set's release that allowed you to have both hips in line. With the release of the 1 x 2 plate with ball connectors at both short ends (below), that's no longer the case. I have updated my mech with that part (and a 1 x 2 plate in dark bley to fill the gap). I also replaced the mech's finger and thumb parts with a bunch of these that are also new-ish: Do you update sets/MOCs or do you leave them as they are?

I'm not even entirely sure being cut is the case, but I'm comparing two different Hose, Ribbed 7mm D. parts of the same axle length (y'know, these pieces: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=522) for a Sand Tarakava replica and I think one piece has one more of the rings than the other and thus maybe a little longer. Is this standard for the pieces to be slightly different like that, or has there been piece alteration here? As someone whose purist in the sense that I just want a LEGO set to have the parts as they normally are, can you tell if a hose part has been cut down (and thus not the actual piece) if that's even what's happening here? For all I know the messy-looking ends of the parts may just be the condition or so. I sorta just get OCD over the parts being correct, a similar case if Hose, Rigid 3mm D. parts (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=528) are cut or distinguishing between the proto minifigure blank heads and regular minifigure heads whose face printing has been rubbed off over time (as well as stuff like if parts are actually bootleg instead of authentic LEGO, but that's another can of worms). EDIT: Looking at some sealed parts from a bag of the Sidorak set, yeah the inconsistent rings seems to be present there too, and a little weird "fraying" at an end where part of the circle is raised above the rest of it. Guessing LEGO's production itself cuts the pieces down from a long length into the right size and the softer plastic is why stuff like that happens?

Hi, guys! I know that, there is February yet and we're before March release, but let's start new topic! So, at first I want to say that 2023 wave is amazing. New brand, new mudguards, new windscreens! Whoah! And there are my speculation/cars I want to see in Speed Champions 2024: ~ Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 ~ Porsche Taycan ~ Audi e-tron GT ~ BMW M6 ~ BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M3 1991 ~ Ferrari 499p LMH ~ Ford Focus RS 2021 ~ Honda Civic Type R ~ Cadillac LMDH What do you think about my cars? What cars would you like to see? Show your speculation/wishlist.

Update July 2024: My described tool here is considered DEPRECATED as the ldraw site has implemented a functionality to download complete .zip files with all needed subparts / assemblies. Scenario: You are in the situation in which you miss some LEGO parts in Studio but have seen them in LDRAW (unofficial) library. Maybe you tried to resolve all the references to all sub-assembly-files once by hand or had a look at the dependencies with some other tools - as I am working in IT and love to automate things and thought "I can't be bothered with doing this manually". And as I want to contribute something back to the lovely community of people I put it online in May 2022 and gave it some little updates inbetween: The LDraw to Studio Exporter (https://www.reum.it/ldraw-to-studio-exporter/) Description This tool is designed to import parts which are available in LDraw, but not in Studio. From the LDraw part number, it zips all relevant sub elements (there can be many!) into a part pack. Howto Visit the LDraw Parts Lookup Search for your part of choice & copy the number Enter this number into the below searchfield A list of all fitting parts from the catalogue will show up - clicking the entries will create a zip package with just the needed parts To use the packs, unzip them and place their contents in your "C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Local\Stud.io\CustomParts" (Windows) The parts will then be available in Custom Parts palette of Studio Screenshots Entry-Page Example result for query "47373" Details of the zipfile structure of an example part Here is an example of the structure and the needed subparts for one Shock Absorber ("47373-f1"): Some example results as direct links of parts missing in Studio: 65151-f1.zip - Technic Shock Absorber 11L Soft (Extended) 65151-f2.zip - Technic Shock Absorber 11L Soft (Compressed) 47373-f1.zip - Technic Shock Absorber 11L/9L (in Extended Position, not Pre-Tensioned) 47373-f2.zip - Technic Shock Absorber 11L/9L (in Extended Position, Pre-Tensioned) 47373-f3.zip - Technic Shock Absorber 11L/9L (in Compressed Position, not Pre-Tensioned) 47373-f4.zip - Technic Shock Absorber 11L/9L (in Compressed Position, Pre-Tensioned) Updates January 2023: Fix: Nightly refresh of LDraw unofficial files working now, it was buggy before and stuck on the releases from ~August 2022 version Feature: Unofficial files may be downloaded via a new checkbox. Searches are exclusive here, so having the checkbox set means it only goes through the unofficial list (but may grab sub assemblies from the official, where needed) UI: Added Dark Mode awareness UI: Added Font-Awesome Icons for downloads UI: Some tweaks (all professional webdesigners: hush hush, nothing to see here... don't look at my nasty css quirks :P) May 2023: Fix: Textures are now included (they werent before..)

Hello all! I have recently started taking interest in Lego medieval MOC's and I was wondering if there is any kind of basic inventory to start the collection with. I mean an inventory of the most commonly used 20-50 items in these kind of builds, the absolute must have pieces. I've been experimenting with bricklink wanted lists, but some advice from the experienced builders would be much appreciated! :) Have a nice day!

Hi everyone I have a model set up in LDD and I am now at the point where I'd like to order parts to build the model with real bricks. The problem is that many of the parts are not available in the colours I've used. Does anyone know of a simple way of showing the parts that are unavailable so that I can swap them out for colours that do exist? Or is it simply a case of painstakingly going through the model and checking each brick one at a time? I wasn't sure if there is a way of uploading the model to Bricklink so that it automatically highlights the missing parts and shows alternative colours that are available instead. Sorry if this sounds like an obvious thing to most people. I'm a bit of a novice with this though and although I've built lots of models in LDD I've never actually ordered parts for the models before and have quite limited experience of using Bricklink as well.

I live in a place where no lego stores are near me, like the closest one to me is about an hour away. I want to stock up on lego because I am running out of them, and used bricklink orders, but I want to get new pieces as well. So I am wondering if anyone living in California, or the United States, can ship to me a large cup of pieces, particularly plates and bricks? I am willing to pay like $17 more for shipping & handling.

Hi everyone I am in the process of sourcing parts to build a physical version of my Lego Ideas project, The Old Workhorse - Traction Engine. The model was constructed digitally and I used 2 torso pieces for my minifigs that I thought were suitable for the style and time period of my model. The figure on the left uses the Frodo Baggins torso from the Lord of The Rings Lego theme but I can't track down the tan coloured torso on the right. Does anyone recognise this or know which sets it has been featured in?

So, I've been doing some building lately with brown plates, and I've noticed they're a little brittle, and break easily. The problem with brown by North White, on Flickr Are my pieces just old or something, or is this a common problem?

Hiya, I'm assembling my 2 x 10027 Train Engine Sheds ready to sell and I've run into an odd problem. Brickset's inventory says it contains the new stone greys while Peeron says it's the old greys. I tried to narrow it down by assessing whether I had the correct baseplates, tracks and other unique parts in the right colours which lead me to believe Peeron is correct and this 2003 set was on the cusp of 'greygate' but if someone could check their set and confirm which greys it uses, I'd be very grateful. Were there any sets that contained a mix of both out of interest? Thanks, Alex

I wanted to buy all parts for my first MOC on Bricklink and since i've never done this i wanted to ask You few questions. A. Firstly there are two sites on Bricklink to buy from Wanted list: 1. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/buy.page?utm_content=subnav 2. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/shop.page From this what i check second is better as You exactly see what parts are You missing and in what count, and is showing better prices when using autofinder, which do You use and why there are two diffrent sites? B. Do You buy bricks only from country in which You are living (because of lower costs of delivery)? Or from whole continent like Europe (from this what i see it is better option as You are able to buy all parts in most cases) Or You are just using option from anywhere, but delivery costs aren't too high in this option? C. Besides filters: -exclude disliked stores -exclude stores that do not ship to me It is worth to use any others? D. Are You buying in stores when total price is below min buy? E. Are You buying parts for MOCs from anyother pages, is it worth? Thanks for help!

Hi, I have always wondered if this part is compatible with lego technic pin holes. I have a MOC situation where I need to have an axle thru-hole which also can be meshed with the pinholes of two beams which are 1L apart. I could use the new technic connector pinhole with 1L axle on opposite sides, placed sideways with a 3L pin connecting the beams but the connectors axles are too short, hence the need for an axle thru-hole. Can the sides of part 24122 be placed inside of pinholes? even if it means having to twist it in due to it being a tight fit. axle joiners or #2 connectors are too long also. Regards, snipe.

DOWNLOAD: Runnable version /Windows platform/ GitHub repository HOW THIS WORK: This extracts brick usage informations form a LEGO Digital Designer model file. This program tells you, which parts where used, and how many of them, thus creating a Bill Of Material. DESCRIPTION: This is remastered version from https://sourceforge.net/projects/lddpartslist/ . I repair some bugs, add preview and update XML documents. So: partnames.xml knows 8700+ official LEGO elements. There are still mysterious parts that are waiting to be discovered. xml2html.xsl and xml2txt.xsl they are responsible for the content and appearance. If you familiar with XML style sheet transformation. You are welcome to modify them to you wish.

Hey Guys, i´m sitting here checking my LDD Parts List of a MOC and wondering what i need and what i might already have from a Set. Is there an easy and Time effective Way to compare the Parts Inventory of a certain Set and the Parts Inventory of a LDD designed MOC to se which Parts the et already contains and which Parts i still need to Order? Like when a Set contains 5 white 2x2 rounded Slopes and the LDD Design contains 10 of the same Piece so that i know i only need to order 5 more from Bricklink or where ever. I hope my Objective is not too confusing.

Recently upgraded to Windows 10 and re-installed LDD. After resolving an unrelated error having to do with my graphics card, I succeeded in booting up the program and opened one of my old build files to discover that an incredibly large number of bricks (mostly ones with moving parts) were refusing to load. Additionally, three of the brick categories in the sidebar were displaying with a bugged icon and a handful more, including hats, heads, and handheld props, were missing entirely. Finally, numerous bricks from these and other categories has been randomly redistributed to incorrect categories, as seen in the minifig parts catagory here. I haven't yet determined whether all of the parts from the missing categories are still present. What's going on, and how do I fix it? I've already tried all the solutions in this thread, in the belief that it was about the same issue I'm experiencing, but in retrospect it's very likely that it isn't.

I tried to find a old post about xtra sets, but for some reason could not Anyway there are 2 new sets on Instagram now, looks like there is one with a ocean tape and one with a road The parts included look similar to earlier sets, I was hoping for a xtra set with pirates parts to go with the new bay set or some set with focus on animals, hopefully next time

I would like the Mixels balljoint cup 1x2 plates, but with the cup rotated 90 degrees for greater movement freedom. I could also use 1x2 plate Mixels balljoint cup with the cup on top like 11458 and one with cup on bottom like 24201 or 18677. Mixel cup one end, jumbo cup other end. Mixel ball one end, jumbo ball other end. I would also like a 1x2 plate (or more) with studs on top and bottom (no clutch side). What would you more experienced Lego builders want?

Hello everyone, bare with me as this is my first post and my make some newb no-no's I've been looking to order a set online with future hopes to install a Sbrick and have some fun with the kids. Now, i can't decide what to order...if i order anything at all. Was looking at Aliexpress and can't decide what to get. i want a good decent set that offers most of what i'm looking for in a bundle. Keeping in mind, most of the outdoor area here is either bumpy, grassy or parking lot. - maybe looking for racer, possibly F1. but i see that getting stuck a lot around here except the parking lot. - WHEELS and SUSPENSION ;) family are mechanics, this is the only way i get to keep my hands clean ;) - parts gearbox, 4wd... - was planning to get SBRICK, motor advice? With that being said, i'm thinking of a crawler/buggy type..... long suspension, big wheels, room for motors..... able to "take a beaiting" Any suggestions, I thinking along the lines of the 3335 or 3360?

Hi, I've been looking to buy parts for the 2015 SDCC Action Comics #1 set. Upon my research I've noticed that the part with Design Number 98281 (Green Wedge 6 x 4 x 2/3 Quad Curved) only appears in this set. How is it possible that a part is a convention exclusive? And will it ever be released in a widely available set? It's baffling to me that TLG would do this.

Hello, Having played extensively with LEGO Technic as a youth (I still have the original 853 Car Chassis Technical set), I now find myself playing with LEGO Technic with my son! I am a vehicle design engineer by trade and this combined with the time spent playing with LEGO Technic resulted in an idea for a new Technic compatible part. After this idea had knocked around in my mind for some time and refused to go away, I decided to design in properly using 3D CAD and present it to the Lego Group to see what they thought. I put together the following video and sent it by e-mail to the LEGO Group several months ago, but I have had no success in getting them to take an interest in the proposal: My design cannot be submitted through the LEGO Ideas web site, because new part designs are specifically excluded. However if I can get to at least 10,000 views on YouTube (the LEGO Ideas review threshold), I think LEGO Group may be prepared to give serious consideration to producing these new parts. If you like the idea please help by sharing this video on social media, in forums and with friends. Thank you for your help.

Does anyone know of a good brick link store that sells rare pieces? Like anything that is not common, even prototypes and pre production parts. Thanks

Hello, yesterday I encountered a strange problem when importing a .ldr file into LeoCad. It simply wouldn't show my 2 x 3 plate with hole, ldraw part 3176.dat. The part renders fine in MLCad, LDCad, LDView and the like, but it shows only the 4 studs in LIC (instruction creator) and LeoCad's part window, while not showing at all in the rendered models using the latter two. You can see the difference in the two images attached. My question is - is this a known phenomenon? Are more parts affected than just this one? How can a part like this be used in LeoCad or LIC? Thx m.

Hi there fellow LEGO fans! I've been procrastinating this for months but I finally started updating my BrickLink store and I have a few items for sale here. An assortment of Harry Potter, Star Wars, and other themed minifigure heads, torso assemblies, and accessories are all up for sale. I would prefer to sell this as a lot for around $40-$50, which would price each item at a bit less than $1 while many of these parts belong to rare figures priced much higher. If you are interested in particular items, I would also not mind breaking up this lot. If interested, contact me via private message or email. (alexyermilov@yahoo.com) Additionally, stop by my BrickLink store! :)
