Hello, I'm new to this community, but have been building Lego my whole life. My favorite themes when I was growing up in the late 80's and early 90's were Castle and Pirates. In recent years, my favorites are the Star Wars UCS sets, though I'm especially impressed with some of the MOC's both of Star Wars and in general. I first found this forum when I was wondering why Lego hasn't done a set for the Star Wars Nebulon-B Medical Frigate from the Rebel flleet. A google search turned up the absolutely AMAZING MOC of the Nebulon-B by Mortesv, and as I read more about that I of course found a thread or two talking about it in this forum. Over the last few years I've become very impressed with the online tools we have thanks mostly to the ingenuity of the Lego community. Most people, even probably a lot of people that have Lego or buy sets for their kids, have no idea that sites like Bricklink, Brickset, and Rebrickable, exist. The sheer number of online store fronts on Bricklink, and the enormity of how many individual parts there are just boggles my mind. The amount of data that Brickset can tell me about my collection is fascinating. I am now trying to learn about the Lego design software that until a week ago I wasn't aware existed. It seems like Lego Digital Designer is kind of broken and not supported by Lego, yet it seems like folks are still using it? What about Stud.io? Is that more or as popular? Or is there other software besides those? I feel like I am just scratching the surface of the new things I want to learn about - and this forum seems like a great place to figure it all out! Looking forward to participating in this community, almost as much as I am for my two year old getting old enough to graduate from Duplos into Lego!

This was originally designed to be the smallest RC car to use a buggy motor, but it soon became an extremely powerful car capable of drifting. I refined the chassis design over 2 prototypes, and then tried multiple combinations of gear ratios and different sizes of wheels to achieve the best speed. Hey Guys, i´m sitting here checking my LDD Parts List of a MOC and wondering what i need and what i might already have from a Set. Is there an easy and Time effective Way to compare the Parts Inventory of a certain Set and the Parts Inventory of a LDD designed MOC to se which Parts the et already contains and which Parts i still need to Order? Like when a Set contains 5 white 2x2 rounded Slopes and the LDD Design contains 10 of the same Piece so that i know i only need to order 5 more from Bricklink or where ever. I hope my Objective is not too confusing. -
I just tried to go to Rebrickable, and got this: I don't know what's going on, but it's been like this for ages... Is anyone else experiencing this? Edit: It's working now...

I was tempted to bricklink Anios UCS A-Wing, but somehow it was a bit too tall for my needs. So i started to build a smaller version - It´s 37 studs long. It´s the first version i dare to show, but there is much work left especially with the tails, rebuilding the cannons as the distance between them is too big, and maybe a snot version of the nose. Part count: 574 Merry Christmas everyone.

All, After more then 2 year without working on a new Technic MOC I am now ready to present my new project: A classic roadster based on a Jaguar XK120. I managed to built it in white and separate the frame and the bodywork completety. Due to this there is also a frame version with full RC. Then I realized, that this chassis behaves really well, and started thinking about it as about my new Overland Expedition (or Kostky Trophy) truck. (later I got reminded, that buggy motor is quite hungry, so it can not be used in this kind of event. But, with bigger battery... Have to try.) So, next step was the body. You can see that I experimented with new tire-rim combo. Too heavy, but not bad. And then I finally bought Buwizz. Laziness and worries about custom RC recievers and batteries won. (hope that not for all times :D) I also installed LEDs to the truck. And bought new tires. And finally, last week I took it outside. Hope you like it. :) More upgrades are slowly on the way. ;) -

Hi All. I shared this in the Rebrickable forums the other day, but didn't get much of a response. I'm new to the forums here, but I wanted to share a project I've been working on. I'm a computer science student at the UofA. Me and a friend have been working on a data-vis project using the rebrickable set database for one of our classes. Hi This is my entry for Rebrickable alternate contest. Model is alternate for set 42004. I do not own that set so the rims on engines are black instead of yellow. All other parts colors are correct. Assault helicopter features: Rotating main rotor (via gear under the fuselage) 2 turbo-jet engines for extreme speed 1 heavy cannon on the front 2 SS 10 anti-tank missiles on sides of the fuselage Seat for pilot two seats in cabin for passengers/shooters Building instructions here. Hi all! [Edit: I'll post a video and real photos later] I got some time and I made a 42004 alternate for the Rebrickable December Competition. It is a small, wheeled excavator, which is slightly based on the 8419 (like the main boom mecanism) My first intention was to keep a bucket and to give it an use (not as decoration). An excavator looks me the most common application for a bucket. I used the small bucket because I think it has the right size. I used all gears -as gears -. The features: -Steering (HoG) -Main boom raising and lowering (Worm) -2nd and 3th section movement (Worm) -Extra movement of the bucket (Manual) -Turning (Turntable) The body is a bit unfinished, but with not any leftover beam, I couldn't get it looks better. For me, just as for many other Technic builders, functionality is more important than looks. For it size and the available parts, I think it's pretty good. I had only 10 unused parts, of which 8 pins. What do you think of it, and do you have any suggestions to improve it? Greets, Fresko -
Hi everyone, My Midi-Scale TIE collection expands again with a new TIE starfighter: the TIE Striker from Rogue One. Made of 730 pieces, this TIE Striker features a fully SNOT surface, a smooth cockpit section, and includes blaster cannons below the cockpit. Design-wise, this ship really felt like a natural continuation of my previous TIE Reaper MOC. Although being almost Minifig-scaled, (hence the Midi-scale) this ship obviously doesn't have any interior due to the techniques used and small space allowed for the internal structure. Due to the front-heavy nature of the design, a rather long (but very simple) stand had to be made in order for the ship to remain perfectly steady and horizontal. The overall build is pleasantly sturdy for a display model and can be moved around easily. Dodge Viper - 10265 c-model I made my first attempt to the Viper before building the Hummer. I wanted to use the white stripes offered by the 10265 set. I must admit that the Viper is one of the most iconic cars that use these painting. The problem is that it has an extremely slim silhouette, and the Mustang parts are much more suitable for the construction of an angular body. The final model is the result of 5 approaches. On the fourth, I had the model almost finished and all I had to do was construct a rear diffuser out of the scraps. It was not without a slight remodeling of the rear bumper, which left me with a few additional parts, which I knew would be very useful in the front. This way I demolished half of the car and it was a good decision. Thanks to this, the model has definitely gained stability. There are a few delicate details, but there is no risk that any of them falling off when you grab onto any part of the vehicle. The fairly low profile of the whole and the desire to reproduce the engine dummy in a decent way, eliminated the possibility of installing a torsion axle, which takes up so much space on this scale that it would have a negative impact on the appearance. Hey everyone, I just made this new MOC and I'd like to hear your thoughts on the model. It's a 42126 alternate build so it uses only the parts from the Ford F-150 Raptor. -
This model, inspired by famous Lamborghini bestsellers like the Huracán (vendaval is Spanish for gale) and the Aventador SVJ, is the result of several prototypes and hours of hard work on both the model and its instructions. I started the work on this late 2020 in the middle of a certain pandemic and have altered the original quite a bit since.Although it is more of a display piece, the Vendaval is quite sturdy, aside from the rear diffuser which is held in place by a simple bar in hole connection. So long as you don’t grab it by the tail it is very swoosh-able. SPECS:Width:8-wide Speed Champions scale or approx. 210LDU/10,5 studs from mirror tip to mirror tip.Length:390 LDU / 19,5 studs. I shortened the original prototype by a stud to get a more comparable sized open door.Height:108 LDU / 4 bricks and a plate / 13 platesPiece count:311 pcs FEATURES:The car features two poseable scissor doors. Not to be confused with real time opening doors, as the doors are wedged in place when closed by the cheese slope above the intakes.(You can slightly bend the door outwards to pop it open but I recommend removing and replacing the entire door module instead as is shown in the instructions)The 4x2 wedges on the rear can be easily removed to get a nice view of the naturally aspirated V12.And the front interior looks glorious even without removing the windscreen! Of course this can also easily be done to fit two minifigures with short hair or a helmet. Hello everyone, I happy to share with you one of my most ambitious and structural complicated Proejcts I tackled in the last 6 years: The Eye of Sion from the Ahsoka Series. After having completed my MOD for the 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer to Thrawn's Chimaera approx. a month ago, I was toying with the idea of creating a Hyperdrive Ringe (Eye of Sion) that would fit. After taking some inspiration frtom the old LEGO 7661 Jedi Starfighter™ with Hyperdrive Booster set, I started the digital design process using Bricklink Studio. The design process took me roughly a week. During the design process I made sure that all the details are included as well as sufficient stability is secured to make sure the model is not falling apart when putting it on display. Once I completed the digital model I was checking the needed parts in my own inventory. I had roughly 63% of the parts in my own collection. The remaining parts were ordered in 4x Bricklink orders. Last weekend I was building the model and it all turned out exactly the way I imagined it in my head :) I am super happy with the end result. During the building process I also created step-by-step instructions in order for everyone else to also recreate this model at home. Dodge Challenger is one of my favorite cars. Both, the first generation and the current one, regardless of the edition, always gives me the effect of an uncontrolled wide smile on my face. After Lego released the Technic 42111 Dodge Dom set, which didn't really appeal to me, I lost hope of a 16 stud wide Creator like Mustang. However, in order not to disappoint Dom and faith in the family, the idea was born that it could be built from the 10295 set. In anticipation of your comments, yes I know it is too short. It would be useful to extend it by 2 studs. One on the hood and the other in the cabin. In the middle part it was my conscious choice, but the second one turned out to be an accident at work. Unfortunately it can be seen very much. The second biggest problem with the Challenger is the B-pillars and the roof. I'll not talk about it. Contrary to the Hummer, I tried to make as few compromises as possible and used most of available bricks. There is a steering axle connected to the steering wheel. 16 studs wide. Openable door and hood. A mock-up interior with folding seats. What I am most happy about is the back section, which I had absolutely no idea for when building it. These single-set rebuilds are a lot of fun. It reminds me a bit of the times when as a child I got my first sets and tried to reproduce the models that were presented on the back of the boxes. It seems to me that the fashion for rebuilds came from nostalgia for those times. In my case it is just like that. In addition, creating instructions is something completely new which also gives a lot of satisfaction. The one for the Challenger took me a lot of time and work. Its design is as challenging as the model itself. I remember a time when 8 studs of vehicle width for minifigs meant that someone built a truck or something that big. Several years ago, this "scale" was not very popular, because of the small selection of tires and windows, although I made a few 8s wide models myself, such as the BMW E24 or the Polonez Coupe. Nevertheless, they were definitely not for figs. Lego once again confirmed its very loose approach to scale by creating the Speed Champions line. Despite the promising start in the form of 6s cars, the series unexpectedly turned into a rash of stickers with strange windows and forcibly added minifigs. When the announcement of the Lamborghini Countach model appeared, for a moment I was fooled that I may still like this series. On the one hand, these models have a lot of charm, they look nice on the shelf, but on the other hand, this huge amount of stickers is a nightmare. It made me think if it is possible to do something sensible by resigning from decals and a minifig. The BMW M1 may not be as iconic as the Countach or Testarossa, but it has its undeniable charm. The silhouette is very similar to the Lambo, so it was immediately chosen this model to build from the 76908 set. As it happens in this game, there was a festival of compromises. Rebuilding with just one set is a big challenge. Both cars are supposed to be the same size, but with about 2/3 of the model I used almost all the white bricks. I started slimming, which had a heavy impact on the rear of the vehicle, but I am quite happy with the final result. This is how the B model of the 76908 set, i.e. the BMW M1 Procar version, was created.
