(Updated version in the comments) --- Here's a different spin on the E-Wing. Not exactly proportional to the actual dimensions, but I wanted to build one that had clean lines while still being rigid. I wasn't able to accomplish that with plates, either the parts don't exist or I'm not creative enough. Either way, the fuselage is shorter and wider than the source material, the engines are integrated into the wings instead of suspended underneath, and a cavity has been added for a droid. The dorsal laser lifts to access the cockpit and landing gear folds flush with the hull. Cheers! BW

Hi, first post about doing a mod, but I felt pretty passionate about this one. Having grown up with the "original" Batman films, I loved the UCS Batmobile, and while I also love the lego Batwing, the elongated cockpit really struck me as a bit NQR. I tried various mods on mecabricks, and while the most accurate "shrinkage" (based on the original studio model) of the length of the cockpit would require the removable of (two) of the sections of 1/4 clear wall elements, this would require a full blown redesign of the seat and cockpit to fit it all in the remaining one. I also tried utilizing the new UCS A-wing canopy, but it's width isn't the 8 studs required (6 only), and again, a full redesign would be needed (which is a shame as it is a more accurate shape compared to this sets design) So finally, I settled on removing 2x BOW 1/4 4X4X1 which effectively shortened the length by about 2-3 studs (along with removal of other parts that were between the two cockpit sections). This allowed me to move the front of the canopy backwards 1 stud (more screen accurate) and also move the back "shell" (WALL ELEMENT CONE 3X6X6) forwards - again more screen accurate. To complete the look, I'm planning on printing some back vinyl to make the rear section of the canopy a sloping black area (rather than clear all the way back then a vertical black where the shell starts). The other major change I made was to remove some of the dark grey "detailing" to remain more screen accurate - especially the spoilers. I narrowed them by a stud to take advantage of the void below them created by removing the two LDG 2x6 bricks, which then allowed them to sit much more flush when down (with some detailing underneath 1 stud lower than the rest of the wing area) Instead of writing more, maybe I'll just show what I'm talking about, as it will hopefully make more sense that way. Hi, I am working on an update to my first Lego ideas creation and would like some help or suggestions as to how to create a flat top to a wing shaped surface. I would imagine that it is similar to an aeroplane wing except that it needs to be flat. My project is the James Webb Space Telescope that has foil type layers for a sun shield. As can be seen in my model, I have managed to get the shape but lack the smooth surface. The -Wing starfighter was an experimental starfighter which resembled the shape of the first letter in the Aurebesh alphabet "Aurek". It was an extremely fast and agile fighter with similar features to the U-Wing fighter. Its most notable feature was its prong-like retractable wings or S-foils that could split apart at the front to switch from flight to attack mode, thereby increasing the size of the ship's deflector shields and the spread of its fire, which earned it the nickname of Scissor Fighter. It also featured retractable landing gear, a central fin, laser cannons on each wing and in front of the cockpit, large engines on each side, as well as a small thruster behind the cockpit. This is my entry for the Star Wars X Building Contest on FBTB and since it's NnoVVember, I decided to make it a vic viper as well. Here is a bird's eye view where you can see the Aurek shape better:

Hello from France Guys ! I'm Bricks Feeder and it's my third topic on Eurobricks! :) Today, I show you my MOC of the A-Wing using the design seen on the SW Rebels series and based on the Original A-Wing Concept of Mr. McQuarrie. I will make some pictures of my advance in the future but for the moment, I give you some videos (of my YouTube Channel) of my prototype on LDD. This MOC is based on the Jerac's A-Wing but I made a lot of change. For the moment, It's just a prototype on LDD. I tried to build a functional Landing gear. But I have to test the structure in real. I made Three version : Two A-Wing of the Phoenix Squadron (534 Bricks and 523 Bricks) and the A-Wing that Ezra used in the season 3 to go to Tatooine (523 Bricks). Although, These MOC need some stickers for the details. I'm currently busy collecting minifigure parts for and assembling lots of new, original Star Wars characters for a slightly fanboyish and ambitioned continuation of a certain story, leading into new stories around favored characters and lots of new ones. We'll see where this will go, if anywhere... In the meantime, I assembled a new MOC of the Rebel U-wing featured in Rogue One. I like this ship because it presents a new, sturdy and easily recognizable shape among the already established rebel ships, and because I love the idea of a troop-transport with hyperspace capability, as befits the tactics employed by the rebels. I went for stability and sturdyness - as I like to do - and getting the shapes and proportions right. A sleek appearance also was a main goal, so as to underline the straight, sharp lines defining the design of this craft. I hope you like it: The cockpit section can be removed to access the pilot seat and the (smallish) troop compartment: The wings fold back and line up perfectly with the back section of the fuselage to which the engines are attached, leaving no gap in flight mode. When in flight mode, the wings snap into place via a ball joint-connection similar to the official set. When in landing mode, the inner side of each wing is firmly attached to the side of the front part of the fuselage via two studs: The doors to each side of the troop compartment slide open and close without leaving gaps: Enjoy, comment, nitpick, or just leave a reply.

Hello guys , I am currently working on an X-Wing moc. The focus is to get it as close to the movie version as possible ( while strictly keeping it minifig-scaled ) , without caring about action-features , play value/"swooshability" etc . While waiting for a couple of Bricklink orders , I decided to post some WIP photos of what I have so far . Do have in mind that many of the parts' colours are substitutes while waiting for the correct coloured ones ( such as the brown nose and every white piece in there ) . Lastly , I 've decided to go with light bluish grey and not white for the main colour . I know this debate has been going on forever , and fully respect the people who want it white , but for me light bluish grey not only represents the actual colour a bit better , but also provides that battle damaged - real world and not CGI feel that I love about the original trilogy ( it's a real, living world , with real vehicles and that sets it apart as the best in the sci-fi genre , imo at least ). Anyway , enough indirect prequel shots fired , here are some pictures , please share your opinions and/or suggestions (sorry about the medium-low level quality , a friend borrowed my camera so I had to make do with my phone ) . There's also and LDD file I made which I'm attaching , it's not quite the whole thing , it's more of a sketch-up of how it's going to look without caring about how everything will connect ( as it is better to find that out when physically building it , when illegal and unorthodox connection techniques can be used ) , so have a look there , as there's much more than I've shown built in the photos above ( almost the whole thing , or at least the first version of it ) . Finally , note that there's going to be a "88295" part (http://www.bricklink...colorID=66&in=A) stuck on the "85861" parts on each of the four laser-canons , they're just not available in LDD so I couldn't show it there . Please share your opinion , recommendation or any other type of feedback guys , I really need it and will truly appreciate it . Thanks for looking !

Elves pegasus wings - not LEGO compatible

I bought some pegasus wings from the Elves range (these pieces: http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=20313&idColor=95#T=C&C=95 and http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=20312&idColor=95#T=C&C=95 ) on Bricklink. They're genuine LEGO pieces but I found that the bar along the side of the wing is too thick and can't be held by regular LEGO system clips. The wings don't stay in place. The slightest movement or contact and they just pop out. Is this a known issue or are they supposed to be that way? -
I don't think I posted this here. But if I did, this is mod 2 of it. Wanted to make the wings fold forward as they should in some references I know of. First version was flimsy that I designed from LDD. Had a green bubble top too that I wanted to change down the line too. Later got a new canopy for the cockpit and made the wings better to look at. They look more like armored plates which is cool. The inside. Wings open. Missing the new V-wing... I bet the next one will have the wings fold backwards! Then the rotation will be complete! You can also see where I got the new canopy from.

Hey there, i'm relative new in this forums, but not to LEGO Star Wars.. ^^ Until now, i've spent my time on Imperium der Steine, a german Lego Star wars forum. But now, i want to introduce myself here, with my first MOC. It's my version of the E-Wing Escort Starfighter, well known from the Expanded Universe. Introduced at the time of the New Republic, it was later one of the major starfighters in the New Republic's Navy. It's a single-pilot Starfighter, with support from an Astromech-droid, which is placed in a slot behind the cockpit. The Starfighter is equipped with a Shield-generator and armed with three laser-cannons and one proton-torpedo launcher. This shown model is created out of 343 bricks, including the Pilot and the Astromech-Droid. It's build in minifigure-scale and fits in it's size to the second generation (2006) x-wing. Created as a concept model in LDD. I have uploaded it on Cuusoo too, so maybe, you would support me. It would be great.. ;) Thanks, and best regards $leeper
