  1. Hi everyone, now I want to show you my Minas Morgul project. I hope you enjoy. ;-) (click on the main image to get to my project on ideas.lego.com) Please click on the images to see the lager version. You can see more images of this project (and my other projects) on my flickr page. Functions: This mighty fortress includes 2.603 bricks. The inner part of the fortress, the bridge with the 2 staues and the ramp can be removed. You can connect the ramp with the fortress. There are 4 catapults on wall and they have many ammunition. My thought is that the green transparent bricks on the wall, will glow in the dark. The bricks could look like white bricks at daylight. (like the spiders of mirkwood does) There is the throne of the Witch king inside the tower. Weapons, armor and some magic potion are placed in the tower. Figures: Frodo Baggins Samwise Gamgee Gollum the Witch-king of Angmar 1 Fell-beast Gothmog the lieutenant of Minas Morgul 5 Morgul-orcs @all viewers: Now it's up to you. Lego Soccer/Foosball stadium

Hi All, Please check out my Lego Soccer/Foosball Stadium that can have the teams customised with different mini figures!!! Regards Legoavatar!!!
  3. Here's yet another dwarf creation; Dwalin, the muscle of the group, in his reclaimed Erebor chainmail coat. This MOC was inspired by getting lot of those short chain pieces for cheap. The color scheme felt quite beautiful too, so I gave it a try. The axe was probably the hardest part. Weta's design had so odd 45 degree angles so I had to fiddle with it a long tme before coming up with a version that uses some magnifiying glasses and clip-bars to connest the blades. There is more talk on my blog. Enjoy!
  4. So with the LotR theme done (or close to it besides some "fun packs" through Dimensions and the slim possibility of an Ideas Minas Tirith), I thought it would be nice to see which set people like the most. Why do you like that particular set? Is it the minifigures, the build, the scene it's based on, or what?
  5. Next part of the fall of Arnor in the Ettenmoors campaign. An Arnorian patrol ship was brought over to fight the hordes of Agmar in the deepest areas of the swamp. MOC: The Crossroads Inn

Whilst the war rages in the North, in the western lowlands, in the middle of nowhere, the Crossroads Inn is always open for weary travelers. The Innkeeper, his wife and wife's sisters will receive all who come for rest, food and if they bring enough gold or gems, top notch weapons. The Innkeeper, a master smith, has his shoppe behind the Inn, whilst the open air armory, eatig tables and coziness of the hostesses invite everyone who can afford a good nights rest, a hearty meal, a razor sharp souvenir and a merry good time. Since I run on a very tight budget, I paint my bricks gray (airspray). Hope you like it. 7. Here's the next installment of the fall of Arnor. Just a note, this particularly piece of LOTR history isn't documented that much. I believe this chapter isn't an official part of the LOTR story, I made up the Ettenmoors campaign (at least as far as I know correct me if I'm wrong). With that over with here it is. it takes place in a swampy strip of the Ettenmoors. The arnorian soldiers are scrambling in small boats to retake the tiny outpost towers scattered all over the area. MOC: Younger Balin

Help me. Can't... Stop... Building... Dwarves... This one, Balin in his old Erebor coat, was done for a super secret dwarven project with Thráin. I got inspired by the rich color and details of the clothing; dark red is definitely one of LEGO's best colors. The arms are quite posable using ball joints on shoulders and minifig legs on elbows. There are more on my blog. Enjoy.

    [WIP] Elven Army

I've been working on building up an army of elves, using Elrond from the Witch-King Battle set, and some slightly customized helmets from the Atlantis theme. I think they look pretty solid form-wise, but haven't painted them yet, so they're clearly in-progress. Even in their not-done state, I think the effect of a dozen of them together is pretty cool, so I wanted to share/get feedback. It might be a better question for the Minifig customization forum, but does anyone know a good paint to get close to pearl gold? Need to track that down to finish these :) Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr by bricklearth, on Flickr by bricklearth, on Flickr

    The Citadel of Der Golad

In the northern plains beyond the elven cities, lies the human city-stronghold of Der Golad. Ruled by its wise king, the city serves as a human enclave in the north and as protection against the evil schemes and machinations of the Dragon King and his henchmen. The king, blood related to the mighty Emperor, has witnessed the utter destruction of the elven cities by the Dragon King and his monstrous army, who has steamrolled thru all that opposes him, aided by fearless armored uruks, giant trolls, dragons and evil potentate warlocks. Sending word to the Emperor, the people of Der Golad prepare for the great siege that will come as part of the Dragon King's campaign to ensnare the North into his power. But Der Golad's walls are impregnable, they possess the finest archers of the north, and every citizen has taken arms to defend their city and livelihood. A mercenary company, led by Kara the Amazon and Rustius have come forth to fight for the King of Der Golad, albeit for the right price. Time is running short, and allies are in scattered in the wind. 12. Hi folks, I've been working on tracking down the right parts to assemble a solidly movie-accurate Gondorian army for quite a while now. I think I've finally gotten it pretty nailed down, and I wanted to share the results with other people who might be interested. That "wait, what, no Gondor?" feeling is a tough one :D. These aren't purist, by any means and I certainly did not make any of the parts myself...but, as far as I've been able to find, no one has shared these parts all assembled together before. I'm really happy with them, and think they've got a very strong "purish" vibe - they're close to something TLG would have made, if they'd actually made Gondorian figs. I'm unsure on etiquette around sharing links to sources, but I'm more than happy to do so if it's allowed. Anyway, hope everyone enjoys this first section of my little army. This is about 30% of the guys I've got for this group, I'll post more photos as I get the rest of them fully assembled. I'd love feedback, tell me what you think :D Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr Untitled by bricklearth, on Flickr

    LOTR - Durin's Bane

Hi everyone! This would be my first post although I've been reading this forum for years now. It's not as complex as some of the other MOCs I've seen here and my photography skills are not that great so I will have to learn from this post and try to make it better next time. Inspired by some of the works I've seen here and by the new Lego hulk buster armor I decided to take a shot at "The Balrog of Moria". As many here, I was quite disappointed that the Lego LOTR series wasn't continued and I wished Lego had made a proper set of the Balrog... but well it gave me an excuse to try my hand at MOCing (after so many years). Some of the pieces should be replaced once I get them in the proper colors, and I left some grey so that the figure wouldn't look so plain as I find happens sometimes when the design is monochrome. I decided not to try to make wings (I only have one pair of the black dragon wings and they are on my Fellbeast...) but instead just go for the general profile they should give. The fire on its back is a little random, I may just adjust it later, but for now I am quite please with how it turned out. I hope you guys enjoy it and leave me some comments! I will certainly try to learn from this experience and hope to post some more MOCs in the future. Cheers, DSC_0099 by arqangelx1, on Flickr DSC_0106 by arqangelx1, on Flickr DSC_0097 by arqangelx1, on Flickr DSC_0101 by arqangelx1, on Flickr And a final shot of the Moria section of my LOTR display area... DSC_0114 by arqangelx1, on Flickr I am new to posting stuff on forums, so I hope the images can show what I tried to make. You can see more at my Flick or ask for any other images! Thanks all enjoy!

The Elven host marching to war

The Elven cities of the Northwest burn. The Elven Queen has regrouped and entrenched on the Forest Keep. Assesing her remaining troops, she receives notice that the Emperor is marching with a huge army to meet the Dragon King, who is besieging the Human city of Der-Golad. Bringing forth three battalions of her best troops (those who remain anyway), she will ride with the Emperor and his allies to stop the Dragon King and his forces. Her daughter stays behind with the keep's garrison and Eagles. Im finished building the elves and dwarves. I'm building two more batallions of Emperor's troops and a few Goblin Kings to use as shock troops for the Dragon King's army (11 in total plus 2 dragons).
  16. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96035 This is my latest/last LOTR Grey Havens project before presenting the humongous set that joins all previous ones. Description: Mithlond or the Gray Havens The Grey Havens was founded at the beginning of the Second Age by the surviving Elves of Beleriand, those who chose to remain on Middle-earth after the wars against Morgoth. It was afterwards used by the Elves to leave Middle-earth for Valinor. The Grey Havens was part of Lindon, the kingdom directly ruled by Gil-galad, last High King of the Ñoldor in Middle-earth. It was also one of the main sources for the Elven fleet of ships that sailed back and forth between Númenor and Eldamar in Aman. According to the map of Middle-earth Grey Havens's anchorage is divided into the Harlond (the "south-haven") and the Forlond ("north-haven") which occupy the southern and northern banks, respectively, of the River Lune. Because of its cultural and spiritual importance to the Elves, the Grey Havens in time became the primary Elven settlement west of the Misty Mountains prior to the establishment of Eregion and, later, Rivendell. Even after the death of Gil-galad and as the Elves dwindled in numbers by the year, The Grey Havens remained a focal point of the history in the northern part of Middle-earth. Third Age and beyondCírdan the Shipwright was the master of the Havens since its founding; Galdor of the Havens, his messenger, was among the Grey Haven's known inhabitants. Aside from Elves, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins also went to Valinor from the Grey Havens, and a family tradition held that Sam Gamgee (having been himself a Ring-bearer, albeit briefly) did likewise, in the year 1484 of the Shire Reckoning. (Fourth Age 61) The Grey Havens still existed into the Fourth Age under Círdan but its population declined as did the elven presence in Middle-earth. It is unclear just what the Fate of the Elves of Middle-earth was in the early Fourth Age and how long Círdan or his remaining folk dwelled at the Havens and continued to build the great ships that carried the Elves to the Blessed Realm. The set: Basically I decided to portray in several mosaics the voyage of the elves to the grey havens - showing the ships sailing in sunny days, through storms, into the sunset, etc... The gate is a very tall one but it is firmly put together with the use of several plates along. And as usual I've used several motifs from my interpretation of Beleriand Architecture If you missed the previous projects you can check them out here: - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/51716 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/84919 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/88866 - https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96032
  17. This is my "The Great Eye: Barad-dûr" Lego Ideas set. It would be a pit for Lego to never produce any more large sets for the world of Middle Earth without a decent version of the main enemy Sauron himself and so I have made this set in hopes that one large missing chunk can be filled. If you want to support it in hopes of it getting made you can do so through here. Every vote makes a change so please do not hesitate to leave your support. It only takes a few minutes if you don't already have a account imagine all the time I put to make it:http://https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96737 This is the main image in a large resolution. If you wish to see more close ups there are many more to be seen on the Lego Ideas link. Let me know what you think. -Gus Something happened with the post the title should be ""Sauron in armor minifigure along with Barad-dûr (Lotr) What do you think?" and it posted it twice. GG

  19. I have used 3 sets plus some extra bits to expand the Tower. I never like the open back models of buildings, so I added a back wall and prepared the set to hinge open on most levels, to gain access to the play features. I need a lot more flat black plates to make this work properly, so for now the model is static. While the model is substantially different to the original I have tried to retain the same styling. The original set we have is the equivalent of 102 feet tall, using a minifig as equivalent to 6 feet tall. The height of my model has risen to about 104cm, which is still only equivalent to 148 feet. 104/4.2 = 24.76 x 6 = 148 feet. Which is still only 1/3 of the height it should be I do not think the lego could support the weight of the 3.5m model that would be required for a proper Tower 500 feet tall .... My table would probably collapse anyway and I might have to remove my ceiling to build that. The final height of my model will be about 106cm. This is still a work in progress, This stage was mainly getting the Structure into shape. The interiors will be finalised during the next phase of the build. Which may take quite some time. First the double depth base which is also a few bricks taller than the original With a bit of the interior Then the Palantir Room, I have left the second light brick in place. I will build a table or statue to house this second light brick, which will light up the chandaliers on the Entrance floor. I like having the second window and balcony, but might replace it with walling to move back towards the tower from the book. Above the Palantir Room is the laboratory or Bomb making room, there are three versions of the bomb inside. Not very sensible, so this will move into the basement. At the top of this laboratory is Sarumans' Library, which is behind the sloping walls, although this is not shown well. I put the Armoury above the library, with some Uruks checking the new gear. Again this does not really make much sense, so I will move this down to the basement. So this armoury level may become Sarumans' bedroom. Above the armoury is the Great Observatory. I have made a Refracting Telescope or as the Uruks call it "The Magic Distance Viewer". Saruman keeps the Palantir as his own secret. The final part above the teeth spikes is an unused room This could be Sarumans Lego room or maybe where he stores some of his technology? and then there is the spire with Gandalf held prisoner on the open platform at the top of the Tower. Putting it together 1, 2, 3. Finally the the new tower and the view from the ground. If you have any positive suggestions they will be welcome. Beyond that I look forward to the Lego Ideas producing a Minas Tirith set.
  20. So the other day I went to Cambridge Toys 'R' Us to find the £12 Hobbit set from 2014 BotFA wave, but there were no Hobbit sets there whatsoever. Earlier I went to John Lewis and still no sign. The only places I've seen these sets is in the Lego Shop. I found the new Lake Town set in Toys 'R' Us Ipswich but nothing else. Anyone know why?
  21. I'm looking for a shield with the white tree of Gondor permanently applied/printed on it. Where can you get those? Are they good quality? Alternatively, does anyone provide a sticker or transfer of the white tree? I already have a plain black shield that would look good with the crest of Gondor on it. Thanks in advance, Amps

    [MOC] Frodo's Choice

This was a back-up entry to the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics on MOCpages. I built it before hand just in case the entry I actually submitted (which you can see here: http://www.eurobrick...00#entry2103221) didn't work out. :) The category is to take a song from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies (this one being "May It Be," which is played during the credits in Fellowship of the Ring) and interpret it into a build. I don't really have thoughts on why I chose this scene, other than the fact that whenever I heard the song, this one always came to mind. :)
  24. LUG Brasil was invited to display some Middle Earth LEGO at an Anime convention in Rio de Janeiro. Due to space constraints we had to combine Hobbit and LOTR in a single layout, which proved a bit challenging for the geography/chronology freak in me. Not sure whether to tag this as a MOD or a MOC, because the landscape is a MOC but most of the actual builds are MODs or even original sets. Anyway, here is how it turned out. The left side is intended to represent the Battle of Five Armies from The Hobbit, while the right side is the Battle of Helm's Deep, from The Lord of The Rings. Bag End and the major characters' minifigs were also included upfront, just because people love them so much. This was a last-minute decision, but really helped attract people to our table and was probably the most photographed part of the layout. Hobbit + LOTR @ Anime Wings by preuss, on Flickr For the Hobbit side, I've built a mountain to better display the Dol Guldur sets - there are 2x 79014, 5x 79011, 2x 79001 and 1x 79015 scattered over there. In front of that, there is a Mirkwood Elf outpost made of 5x 79012 and 1x 79004 next to a mixed Lake Town / Dale made of 2x 79017, one 79013, one modded 79016 and the guards from 32x 30216. Some of the polybags' builds were modded into the little catapult boats. There's also a 79002 somewhere to help with the scenery. On the LOTR side, there is a 9474 on steroids (I essentially increased the tower, raised the terrain and did some landscaping around it) 2x 9471 and the mandatory 10237, plus an extra Ent and half of a 9476. The Isengard area ended up looking pretty poor due to bad planning on my part - if only I hadn't left the rest of the 9474s at home, it would have looked much better. Please let me know what you think. This was my first public LEGO display and I'd love to know how it could be improved. I've already learned a lot of DON'Ts while unsuccessfully trying to transport parts of this one to an out-of-state expo, so any tips to help moving big landscapes would be greatly appreciated as well. Best, Julio

    Edge of Night

My entry to Round 1 of the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics over on MOCpages. The category is to take a song from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies, my choice being "Edge of Night," performed by Billy Boyd (Pippin) in Return of the King, and interpret it into a build. :)
